Toward the end of every Aggie Bonfire season, after almost a year of hard work, fires are lit under "Perimeter Poles" at the corners of Stack on cold Texas nights. Stories about a shared experience can last all night around these Perimeter Fires. Bonfire is described as the greatest leadership laboratory of its kind. That may be a misnomer. It is one of a kind. The experiences it provides and the lessons it teaches have shaped generations, who have in turn left the Woods with the courage and grit to shape their world. Gather round the Perimeter Fires for stories from the "Undying Flame."
Happy Birthday, Grandpa.
Another adventure with the old red BONFAR truck
You say a lot when you ask questions.
This time of year - more than any other - and every year, I most often get to answer the question "do you have any advice?"
Last weekend was Burn. The day began with a basketball game. And no, not THAT basketball game.
What's to be motivated about a burn ban week, and a disappointing outcome on the football field? Everything.
Traffic is a tightly coupled system. So is Bonfire. One of them improves the right way.
Last weekend, I didn't do what I've been working hard to try and get good at. And I've never felt better at it.

A little moment of honesty in the Woods at Family Cut
Concluding a train of thought kicked off over a month ago, that we went down a couple rabbit holes for the last two weeks.
Continuing a train of thought on communication started with an event a few weeks ago, another Tardy Tuesday Monday Moti edition from the woodshop dark and early this Tuesday morning.
Something happened a few weeks ago... and every time I talk about it, it leads down another rabbit hole. So let's do that.
Lots to talk about as the Cut season gets rolling. So of course, we're talking about volleyball.
Recorded at end of the Spring semester of '24, this is part one of a conversation and tour of campus with Aggie great and great Aggie Frank Cox, '65.
Frank was Head Yell Leader, outfit First Sergeant, member of Cors Staff, and member of the Ross Volunteers. In the position of Head Yell Leader, he served as "Chief of Bonfire". Today, Frank is a retired Air Force veteran, devoted family man, devoted Aggie, devoted ...
At Chief Cut, a question from a student leader completely reframed my understanding of things.
A big week in music in Aggieland, with Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett teaching a valuable and motivating lesson.
Over a foot of rain might be killing the tomatoes, but it may be worth it for the seasonal lesson that it brought this way.
The 2024 Hill County Muster Address answers questions about Bonfire, how it is built, what it means to Aggieland, what it means to the students who build it, what they learn, and their resolve to carry on this and every year.

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
