Twenty years ago, a rare disease rendered David New deaf, blind and paralyzed from the waist down. Rejecting his doctors’ terminal diagnosis and defying all odds, David learned to walk again and gradually regained his hearing, though he did not regain his sight. As a gifted visual artist and interior designer, he had to rethink everything. With his entrepreneurial spirit and his inner advocate at play, David used his own, life-changing experience as inspiration to help break down barriers, build awareness, and help companies become compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act through two humanitarian organizations he now leads: Power Access and Access Now.
