نام کشور ما چه باید باشد؟

هشت سال پس از آغاز سلطنت رضاشاه، در سال ۱۳۱۳ خورشیدی او به توصیه سعید نفیسی از سایر دولت‌ها خواست کاربرد نام پرشیا برای اشاره به کشورمان را پایان دهند. بدین ترتیب در یادداشتی که وزارت امور خارجه ایران در ششم دی ۱۳۱۳ (۲۷ دسامبر ۱۹۳۴) به سفارتخانه‌های خارجی در تهران فرستاد، از آنها خواست به دولت‌هایشان ابلاغ کنند که از ابتدای سال جدید خورشیدی باید به جای پرشیا از نام ایران استفاده کنند.
اما آیا این تغییر نام کار درستی بود؟
در حال حاضر برخی افراد ازجمله مهندس فرهاد کاشانی معتقدند تغییر نام کشور ما از پرشیا به ایران هرگز ایده خوبی نبوده و بهتر است در آینده پس از انقراض نظام ملاها، برای تغییر برند کشور و به فراموشی سپردن تمام تباهی‌های داخلی و بین‌المللی آن و البته جبران اشتباه رضاشاه که منجر به قطع ارتباط تاریخی ایران و تمدن چند هزار ساله آن شد، نام کشور ما در مجامع بین‌المللی به پرشیا برگردانده شود.
