a little footage that we needto roll back.

(01:25):
Go to the tape.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Shout out Rob Palenka for the greatest highway
robbery I've ever seen.
That was amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Are you concerned that there's something deeper
going on?
I mean for the Mavs to just letLuka go like that.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
I'm just very excited to see what the rest of the
season and what the future holdsfor the Lakers, because
honestly, I don't still thinkwe're a championship team.
I don't think automaticallywe're going to the finals, diego
what's my life lesson?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Do you know my life lesson?
I don't think I know.
You don't know which one I'mtalking about?
All right, the life lesson iswhen something seems too good to
be true it normally is hey man,we're going to see, we're going
to see.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
We're going to see.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
We're going to see we know that, round by round, you
are going to continue to pickthe Lakers when it comes down to
it.
So why don't you, once and forall, in front of our live
audience here at Kings inRaleigh, north Carolina, why
don't you be a man and say theLakers are going to win the NBA
championship this year?
Say it with your chest.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I am fully willing to say the Lakers are not going to
win that NBA championship.
I don't believe it.
I don't believe it.
Okay, do you see how OKC plays?
Yeah, that's all I'm saying.
As much as a big fan of theteam, I am very realistic.
Do we have the guys to keep upwith a team that talented when

(02:48):
we are very top-heavy with threevery solid, great players,
right, but again very top-heavy?
Sometimes our bench doesn'tdecide to show up.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Diego, who is Chris going to pick?
I'm going to pick LeBron andthe Lakers.
Thank you, you can't helpyourself I can't, you can't help
it.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
I Thank you.
You can't help yourself.
I can't help it how we'removing after this season.
After seeing Luca's 45-pointperformance versus the Dallas
Mavericks which again you knowout of shape, but he put 45 on
you I just want to say hey, that's all I'm going to say
about that.
You got to make him regret it,you got to make him remember,

(03:25):
you got to make Dallas realizethat you made one of the
greatest mistakes in NBA history.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
So well, it's mighty funny, you know, with the Lakers
and Luka Luka comes out andlooks like he's 87 years old,
okay, and all of a sudden theLakers aren't going anywhere,
and then he has one good gameagainst.
He has one good game against.
The Brooklyn Nets are like somebad team.
Yeah some awful team and thenall of a sudden, oh Luka, oh

(03:47):
Luka is doing it.
It is the craziest thing to see.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
No one talks about the bad game.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
The up and down nature of this team.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Hey, clip this one.
This needs to be the clip thatyou should show.
It's getting good to him, Diego.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
It's getting good to him.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
It's getting good to him.
He's getting good to him, chris, who you got.
So I know.
This whole season I've beenhedging my bets, but after
seeing Luka in that Dallas game,I'm sorry.
So Luka is going to turn up.
Could potentially be finals MVPwhen we beat the Celtics in
seven games.
That's my final prediction.

(04:27):
At least you're not hiding me.
I'm not hiding that at all.
We called this weeks ago a monthago we told you what you were
going to do Every week.
I was like now I'm nervous.
Now, oh yeah, we presentedall-time high.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Now, chris, you do realize that the Lakers are not
going to play the Brooklyn Netsin the playoffs.
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
Okay, I'm not scared.
I'm not scared, I'm not backingdown them.
Tears moved me.
I don't know if they movedanybody else, but they moved me.
Hey y'all, how's everybody?

(05:15):
Oh man, all right, uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, wow, a lot of things
were said, you know.
Let's just mention there were acouple series I picked
correctly Celtic series, theCavs series, the Knicks series

(05:36):
as well, much more still.
Wrapping up the WesternConference, I picked the Thunder
.
You know, you know picked everypretty much.
You know can't win them all, can't win them all.
But yeah, that's a very, very.
I mean five and three ain't toobad Actually.
No, we still got two series ofthe tournament.
I might be seven and oneactually.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
So we gonna see.
We gonna see.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back you know who it is
I am derrick thompson, I'mchristopher davis, and diego is
not here but hey, who are we,the pick up pros?

Speaker 3 (06:11):
we are the pick up pros coming back at you in the
house with a special episode ofwho you got.
Uh, father and uh the dude.
I'm about the son here, christopher davis.
What's going on, my man?

Speaker 4 (06:24):
I mean, as you can tell after re-watching all of
those clips of me, you know, ohman, I really doubled down like
I'll really I'll find ithilarious how much I stood on
business and I was like, oh yeah, you know, we're gonna be fine,
we're gonna be fine with ourcenter, and then we actually
made rudy gobert look like willchamberlain in game five.

(06:46):
So I was like I don't know, Ithink that yeah, yeah very, very
rough watch.
You know, I, I was.
I said lakers in six.
Unfortunately that didn'thappen.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
It was wolves in five and uh, yeah, shout out to
anthony edwards, um yeah, yeah, yeah, just you know, um, joe, uh
, first of all, shout out toeveryone that makes the show
happen.
We got joe here and the controlboard.
We got summer behind the scenes.
We got the whole video crewthat makes kings go.
So shout out to everyone.
Thank you for being here, thankyou for watching us and

(07:19):
checking us out, but joe man, uh, you're normally on it, but it
is freezing in this studio today, man, it is freezing, my God.
So you know what?
I need?
A hoodie I was trying to wear, but I need to put my gosh.
It is freezing in here today, wow, okay.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
So let me man, I don't know what's going on man,
it is so super chilly, super, super chilly man.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Let me put.
Oh, oh, hold on y'all excuse me.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Excuse me, that's like minnesota.
Oh yeah, let me put.
Put a hoodie on man, get, getstraight here cold like yeah
hold on, man, let me get megetting this a little chilly.
Bear with me here, just ah.
Okay, there we go.
Yeah, let's, let.
Let's hit the first image hereon the screen.
Let's hit our lakers gonefishing here, all right, so

(08:08):
lakers have gone fishing and uhI think uh, c pain has joined
them.
So, uh, yeah, man.
So man, let's.
Let's just talk a little bitabout luca and, uh, that fool's
gold man yeah, um, very muchfools purple and gold this
playoffs.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Yeah, luka just was inconsistent Again.
I did mention, though, that myfear was that LeBron, at 40,
could not be the best player onthis team.
We needed Luka to step up.
Yes, austin Reeves also had avery bad series.
We didn't play our center.
We like game four, we decided torun our five starters into the

(08:49):
ground without substituting, which jj reddick got really
upset about.
But again, hey, you're a youngcoach, bro, listen, this is your
first rodeo, you feel me.
Yeah, and hopefully you knowyou can learn and we can get
back to something.
I have no idea.
Honestly, it wasn't a feelingof dejection because, honestly,
after game four, I was like okay.

(09:10):
After like game three, where Iwas like okay, like we get, it
seemed like we gave them ourbest shot, and then game four
was like okay, it felt like wegave multiple knockout punches
and the wolves just keptswinging.
Yeah, yeah, that that hurt alittle.
So, yeah, uh, we're, we'regoing home and picking up is so
crazy right now.
But anyway, I think that, againwith my last name, is lakers.

(09:35):
I believe I don't want us tostart turning into cowboys fans.
You feel me, that was I.
I feel like you know we'restarting to become that where
it's like oh every year, it'sour year.
We're going to be.
And again, you all know how Ifeel about Cowboys fans.
So seeing my team become thatteam of just like, oh, every
year we're going to win, Everyyear we're going to win.
I should have been morerealistic and hedge my bets like

(09:57):
how I did at the King show.
I drank the Kool-Aid man.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
That Sorry, that was my bad.
You couldn't help yourself.
You couldn't help yourself, man.
We know, like my wife, we knowyou better than you know
yourself.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah, y'all do, because that was bad All right.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Well, we're going to lay off you a little bit now.
So we gave you a hard time, butit happens, it happens.
It doesn't happen to me, but ithappens, it happens to most of
us out there.
All right, what doesn't happento me?
But it happens, it happens tomost of us out there.
So, with LeBron James, you gotLeBron James.
So he is I guess he is in aplayer option year here so he

(10:37):
can opt in into his 50 plusmillion.
So, with LeBron making maxmoney again, is it worth it?
Yes, he's box office One of thetop players in the league.
Yes, of course, we allunderstand that.
However, can LeBron Jamescontinue to make max money and
win a championship?

Speaker 4 (10:55):
I don't think he can, and I don't know what point
he's at in his career where he'slike, okay, I'm stuck, I'm
happy with my four, let me justwind it down, get as much money
as I can make and just have myfarewell tour.
Or if he's like, no, we reallyhave a good team and we can run
it back now.
My other thing is we need, ifwe have, a player like Luka
Doncic the one thing I didnotice with the Dallas Mavericks

(11:16):
even though Nico Harrison didsay defense wins championships
they did have very soliddefenders around him, like a pj
washington, and it's just, weneed dogs like that around him.
So it's not just luca be theone who's constantly getting
hunted.
Yeah.
So again and again, even duringthe playoffs versus the wolves,

(11:37):
especially in game four, you seelebron coming up with all these
defensive stops and I'm like, okay, this is like great, you're
showing that while you're anall time green at 40, but nobody
else is making a defensive stop.
Everybody is late rotating, somebody's not making the right,
the right play, and it's just.
I think that in order to getthe pieces that we need to
compete for championship, he'sgoing to have to take less money

(11:58):
.
I think that I don't even knowif trades or trades can fix it,
or we help a free agent getblinded by the bright lights of
Los Angeles.
It's like come here, you'll befamous.
You'll have to deal with theInternet sometimes hating you if
you don't play.
Well, like that's just Play fora lower salary.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Yeah, it's going to be tough.
It's going to be tough.
I think he's going to have toTim Duncan it and take less.
And really, you know they soundcrazy and people will go nuts
on this they see this clip buthe's really going to have to be
the third option, you know.
But he can't be.
You know, in this, in this, youknow apron structure and how
the salary cap is right now, youcan only pay two people max

(12:40):
money.
Yeah, and it does.
He just doesn't have the gameright now to be one of those two
people to make Max Money.
Again, he's not a knockdowndrag-out shooter.
Okay, his main skill is okayleadership, which is okay,
phenomenal, and he's still oneof the best passers, if not the
best passer, in the league.
Yeah, but okay, you can't makeMax Money with that skill set.

(13:03):
He's slowing down.
You could see that in thisseries because and yeah, it was
definitely.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
My thing is even still, like when you see, like
the heroics of the run, thescary thing about it was, oh,
we're still not gonna win thisgame, like even still, even if
after like it was like theback-to-back threes again for
again I was like, oh, we have achance, right, it was like this
still was like the back-to-backthrees in Game 4, again I was
like, oh, we have a chance, right.
I was like this still feelslike the games on the bounce.
Typically, like five or sixyears ago, you would think, oh

(13:31):
man, we're about to wrap thisgame up.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
We're about to win this series.
Yes, the Timberwolves playedawful in that Game 5.
They shot one of the worstpercentages.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Seven of 47.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
They shot one of the worst percentages Seven of 47.
Yes, and we still like, do you?
Yeah, ant-man was what?
0 for 11?
0 for 11.
From three.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
And he was talking and again listen.
Because of that 43 and 11 gamehe could talk as much crap as he
wants.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Oh, yeah, All right listen.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
I will never say I do think it's crazy that you shot
0 for 11.
But again you beat us in fivebecause and I'll meet- everybody
and they might talk aboutlakers in five because of a yes,
yes, a certain time and shoutout yes, I'll have to shout out
to yeah, yeah, salute, um.
But I think that, uh, when itcomes to that, it was just yeah,

(14:17):
it was.
It was a rough series and, aslakers fan, it showed the
glaring need for center, becauserudy gobert should not look
like and again when shag is onthe halftime show praising rudy
gobert there is a serious, that's right, I mean

Speaker 3 (14:32):
serious problem that we have.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
He was at the center position.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Yeah, that's yeah oh, turn it on the halftime show.
So you're like shag, be like.
Oh, rudy gobert's company, thatwas.
Uh, that was a death blow, thatthat hurt me.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
They have to give the keys to Luka and they have to
build this team the way thatDallas was building the team
around Luka last year.
So Luka has to be ball dominant.
They've got to build adefensive team around him, build
some sharp shooters around himwhere he can dribble the air out
of the ball and either shoot astep back shot or kick it out to
somebody and have some.

(15:04):
You know defenders are lobbingup to you know the dunker.
So that's definitely whatthey're going to have to do.
But let's go ahead andtransition here to Ant-Man All
right and his quest to take downall of the legends.
So we know that he took down KDlast year, swept him All right,
and that was something the Sunshaven't been the same since, not

(15:27):
at all.
And then he went and took downthe champs.
At the time the Nuggets beatthem in seven.
That was an amazing comeback.
And then they folded to theMavericks and I was very
disappointed in how he let Lukacome in his house and again, not
so much beat them, but the wayhe was able to talk to the fans,

(15:48):
the way he was able to talk toGobert, and there was never any
type of pushback, and so I wasvery, very disappointed in that.
But I was proud of Ant and theway he stepped up, made big
shots, throwing the signs toLuka after he made them, and you
could tell early on that hefelt some type of way about how
that happened and he wasn'tgoing to let that happen this

(16:09):
year.
So big props to Ant.
How do you feel about Ant man?

Speaker 4 (16:13):
I think that he has.
He's now the Kingslayer, asAdidas, you know, rated him in a
very great promotional imagefor him.
I think that, yeah, this is.
It's scary the fact that he'smind you, I didn't acknowledge
the fact that he's actually myage because I've seen him, like,
play basketball for all theseyears, but I'm like, wait, he's
23, I'm 23, okay, this is, andyou're out here, you know, not

(16:37):
literally taking out legends inthe game.
I mean what he did in thisseries and again being the best
player, and again this game fourwas the was the moment I was
like, okay, this guy is reallythe best, best shooting guard,
possibly best, definitely top 10player in the league because 43
and 11.
You're making all the keydefensive plays.

(16:57):
You're making all the keypasses.
You're the big shots.
Every single moment that thegame can switch, you're making
the big play.
I was, I was in awe because Iwas like I don't know if I've
seen a young player come in andjust be like, okay, let me get
fully, start getting rid of theold guard.
I'm here now and it's yeah, andeven still, like you remember
the clip going viral a couplemonths ago about like him

(17:19):
talking to obama, him sayingthat he's the truth, and
everybody was like, oh, why isit so confident?
The older generation was like,oh, why is he so confident?
The older generation's kind oflike, ah, why is he so confident
?
I'm like I mean, look at theresume.
He's already like stacking up.
You feel me and I think that, again, most people who are like
fans of the league love Antbecause of the flamboyance,
because of the charisma that hehas and again it that he has,

(17:41):
and, again, it helps the factthat he's transitioned from
mostly dunking and doing allthat to being a very, very good
three-point shooter.
My goodness, some of the threeshe was hitting in those series
was demoralizing.
I think that the face of theleague conversation is very real
for him.
I hope that he becomes that.
But I did want to ask youbecause I remember us having a

(18:03):
conversation about this on theway home from one of the shows,
but I asked you does it restorethat mj feeling for you
absolutely after this seriesespecially?

Speaker 3 (18:13):
absolutely, absolutely.
I've never felt that anybodybrought the magic that michael
jordan brought to the leagueuntil the playoffs, those first
few rounds last year.
I never had that feeling, evenwith Kobe.
Rest in peace.
As phenomenal as Kobe was, Inever had that feeling that I

(18:33):
had those first two series.
And I remember even talking toother people that were like my
peers and they were all gettingexcited like, oh man, because
just the way he attacked hisopponent, the way he attacked
the basket, the charisma, justeverything.
He embodies a lot of what I usedto see with Jordan.

(18:55):
So, yeah, he continues on thispath.
He will absolutely be the faceand, yeah, can win many titles.
And what I also love thatthey're doing in minnesota is
they're not doing what so manyother teams are doing, whereas
they're taking.
Just because you're the bestplayer on the team, they're
making you the point guard.
I hate that, like I can't standthat with sga and you know some

(19:19):
of these other players thataren't pure point guards but
since they're the best player onthe team, they just have them
bringing the ball up and makingthe decisions.
I can see sometime in crunchtime, but I like it when there's
a designated point and I lovethe fact that with Minnesota
they've got Conley and I thinkhe brings a lot of stability, so
I hope they never deviate fromthat.

(19:39):
I hope they can always alignhim with a strong point guard.
But yes, to answer yourquestion, man, yeah, he is the
closest thing I've seen since.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Jordan and to me, anthony Edwards.
It's just, yeah, it'sspectacular just seeing what he
does.
I hope and again, nobody was we.
I really think that the mediaand everything, the star power,
the brightness of LA, reallyovershadowed how well
constructed this Wolves team is.
And also Rudy Gobert, greatseries man.

(20:10):
I tip my cap because after allthe crap everybody talked about
you not guarding on theperimeter.
There were some plays that youwere making guarding LeBron and
Luke.
I was like, hey, I got to tipmy cap to you, man.
And even still, like Nas Reed, you know, jaden McDaniels,
akilah, isaiah Walker, all ofthem.
They're such a well-constructedteam, whereas the Lakers man
I'm envious because it's like, okay, even though it is the best

(20:34):
player, it still has todominate.
There isn't as much pressure asit is on LeBron or Lucas.
So I definitely wouldn't.
I would give the Wolves theprops for this series.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Man, it's, I would give the Wolves the props for
this series man, a lot of propsand on top of that, you know,
look at the moves, you know, giving away Cat or trading Cat.
I should say A lot of peoplethought that was an awful move.
It's over for him.
And then bringing in JuliusRandle, who would underachieve
in the playoffs and fizzle out,had injuries.
He was phenomenal Physical withLeBron, you know, had that dog.

(21:03):
Now I'm curious to see okay, ifhe gets his money what's going
to happen.
I don't want to get too crazywith Randle, but I love what he
did.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
I didn't see how he did next round.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
The whole thing is it's matchups.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Yeah, it's matchups the whole time with Randle.
It's like he'll show up in somegames and then some playoff
games.
He doesn't.
It's I I'll be dang right now.
Great series man, I hope.
I hope y'all continue.
I look here to see what happensto the rest of the playoffs
because I'm like nobody wastalking about you guys and you.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
You put the league on notice so yeah let's see how
the rest of these playoffs gofor y'all because can you
imagine, if you know, just withthe battle of the the titans, if
we end up having with sga, right, he and joker they're
battling for mvp a lot of peoplethink sga will probably get it.
So if sga and joker arebattling next round, if that
ends up happening, that'samazing.

(21:57):
Then could you imagine in theconference finals if it's sga
and ant man, and then that wouldreally be the battle for all.
Right, yeah, who's the guy?
Oh, wow, yeah, we'll see.
We'll see.
That would be something, yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
Great series to the Wolves.
Yes, shout out, shout out tothem.
I'm going to give you all yourprops.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Doing that?
Woo, doing that thing for sure, all right.
Well, let's move on.
I am going to here, let's.
We're going to talk about thePistons, yes, because I know you
had a question about that.
But before we do that, I wantto promote our King shows Again.
We have eight shows at Kings ayear.
Our last show was great.
Thanks for everybody that cameout.

(22:42):
We are getting ready to thisweekend roll out tickets for our
next show, june 7th.
It's going to be fire.
We're getting ready to announcethe guests for that and it's
actually what's going to be sogreat about that.
One is I don't think ticketsare ever going to become
available for the public.
So those that have attendedbecause they've all sold out at

(23:03):
least a week in advance.
So those that have attended are, you know, pick'em Pro members,
vips they are going to get anemail this weekend with a link
to get first dibs on the tickets.
If we have any left, then we'llopen those up.
So our social media messageswill be basically encouraging
people to join our wait list offtop.
So that's a pretty coolposition to be in.

(23:25):
So thanks for all the love andsupport.
We appreciate that and we can'twait for this next show at
Kings.
All right, so Detroit Pistons.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Yep.
So after I mean a hard-foughtseries that should have gone
seven games.
If we're being honest, I reallylike this Detroit team.
I mean, even with losing IsaiahStewart and Jaden Ivey, they
still were able to performagainst a very experienced
Knicks team.
So I wanted to ask you do youthink that they're a threat in

(23:52):
the East next year if they getanother key piece?
Let's say they get anotherscorer like a Devin Booker, or
they get a point guard that cantake some weight off of him,
like a Trey Young what do youthink the Pistons could be?

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Oh man, yeah, I like Trey Young.
I like Trey Young for this team, and the reason why is because
again I'm on this point guardtheme I think in order to beat
the Celtics, because Celtics arejust beyond loaded.
And Booker although Booker'sphenomenal Booker would be a
great fit, but I don't know ifthat gets them over the hump,

(24:25):
because I think they still haveagain.
Are they like everybody else?
Do they have Cunningham playingthe point?

Speaker 4 (24:32):
They did Bring over the ball, it was just rough
towards the end of the game, exactly Now, but with Trey.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
If they bring Trey, a guy that can run point, is a
phenomenal passer, can shoot, space the floor.
I love that.
I don't know if that's enoughto truly beat them.
But that, and maybe anotherpiece, because the Celtics are
so loaded unless there's aninjury or something like that
you know you have to take intoaccount.

(25:00):
And then the Cavs man.
You know that's going to bephenomenal when we see the Cavs
face them.
But I think that puts thembeyond the Knicks, for sure, for
sure.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
And I think again with the Eastern Conference it's
I mean see how well they played, how locked in they were on
defense that whole series andagain, it took a Jalen Brunson
just amazing move towards theend of that game in order for
him to like, in order for themto win it.
I think that, yeah, they haveall the potential and I love

(25:33):
this story.
I mean this team, like 19 winslast season didn't get, didn't
even get the number one pickthat they wanted and now all of
a sudden they're out here.
I mean two playoff wins fordetroit.
Nobody, I I mean nobody wouldhave thought about that,
especially people saying that no, this series should have got
seven games after that terriblecall in game four.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
It should have.
Shout out to Detroit, shout outto Detroit, shout out to the
Detroit fam.
Man, yeah, yeah, so much so towhere, after those first two
games, I was like man, did I getthis wrong?
I?
was really questioning because Iwanted to pick Detroit.
But you know, I just felt thatagain the experience was going
to play a factor and that'sexactly what happened.

(26:14):
But I love what they'rebuilding, love what the coach is
doing, I love the culture.
And Detroit also suffered fromIsaiah Stewart not being in
there, and I don't even knowreally what the injury was, but
that's kind of a mystery youknow there, but that was
definitely a big blow.
I mean, he's one of their youknow top players, one of their
enforcers.
I could just imagine howphysical the series would have

(26:35):
been with him.
So yeah, they definitely missedhim.
But yeah, big, big shout out toDetroit, detroit Pistons,
detroit basketball Great to havethat back.
All right, Well, let's move onhere.
Oh boy, let's go to theWarriors Rockets series.
That is man game six playingtonight.

(26:57):
So you know it's what?
7.30 pm, eastern Friday, may2nd.
Right now, I think this is whata 9 o'clock tip 9 or 9.30're
somewhere in there.
Man in the Bay, go to state.
I know Diego is going to be.
You know pins and needles forthis Wifey wife is going to be,

(27:17):
you know interested in this one.
And man, are the Warriors goingto close this out tonight?

Speaker 4 (27:23):
I think they can.
But this series is also veryphysical, every single time like
there's like a hard foul, somebody's like trying to fight
somebody Listen.
One thing I will say about theplayoffs is the feeling of the
tough and greedy basketball.
If anybody says that they'vebeen missing, that you guys are
not watching at all.

(27:44):
I think that this series, again, so much of it relies on Steph
and Jimmy in the clutch thereand seeing what Ahmed Thompson
has been able to do and justreally be a great defender
versus Steph.
And again my issue has been theconsistency of Jalen Green,
because Shagun has definitelyshowed up in the series.
But I feel like again theRockets, because they're a

(28:07):
younger team that nobodyexpected to be as good.
I was really confused with theending of Game 5 because I was
like, okay, if you're kind ofthe lead to 12, why not just at
least see a?
Steph can have a magical staffmoment real quick.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
That was kind of my my reservation with that of game
five, but I do think that inthis game six I mean it's the
warriors arena they're at home.
This is like you know who youropponent is already.
So I feel like stop playingwith your food, handle your
business, because if we end upHouston back there, anything can

(28:39):
happen in the game seven.
So I really hope that theWarriors lock it up tonight.
I just again, it's Jimmy orSteph in the clutch and we just
got to see that come through, yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Jimmy.
We know Jimmy's going to stepup.
That'll be big.
We'll see how they're able tocontain Steph tonight.
But for Warriors fans, I'mconcerned with how much the
Warriors celebrated after thatGame 4 game.
I think they had confetticoming out of the ceiling.
They were on one for that wholegame.

(29:12):
So I love the energy that theybrought, but the way they
celebrated put it this way ifthe Rockets had celebrated the
way that the Warriors hadcelebrated, the Warriors would
be accusing them of, you know, acting like they should be there
before.
So that was very interesting.
It felt like they thought thatthe series was over at that

(29:32):
point and they're going to be ina battle.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
So I think this is similar to me to the Memphis
series a couple of years ago, because it was like you know,
they had a great couple of gamesand then it's like they were up
3-1 and then they just getblown out by the Grizzlies at
home and then they have to comeback.
But it's like this team is kindof like different.
It's a different beast.
As a young team.

(29:56):
I understand that they'reinexperienced, right, you guys
know how game sixes can go, butit's like stop playing with your
food.
Like this is like y'all.
Y'all can claim to be vet.
We can claim that like, oh,they're the special veterans.
You know they've been herebefore.
But it's like, if you've beenhere before, you know, don know,
don't give any team a glimmerof hope, and especially as
Warriors fans, y'all should knownever give a team a glimmer of

(30:19):
hope, because the second thathappens, y'all are going to be
home, so I really hope that theylock in tonight and win,
because I need to get all therest of my predictions right so
we can just laugh about me justbeing only wrong about the LA
Lakers Y'all ruined.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
A perfect streak, la.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Just look, just understand, y'all ruined a
perfect streak, I would have gotevery player.
I actually know the Bucs when Igot wrong, so yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
So yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
But again, six and two, that would have been great,
that would have been great.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, la, got us, y'all let me down, got
it shall it be down, and thenwe'll see what happens with the
game.
Uh, tomorrow night game seven, yes, so we'll talk about that,
that next.
But that'll, that'll impactyour, your record, definitely
there.
So we will, we will see.
All right, well, can't wait forthat one.
We're gonna check that one outtonight.
Uh, I kind of want to.

(31:08):
You know, I selfishly want tosee a game seven, just for for
my sunday.
You know, I want, I want to youto be able to get my food, and
just that will add so much to mySunday to have a game seven in
H-Town.
I think that will be great, that will be great for the
Thompson household.
So we'll see.
Not for Diego.
Diego is going to be stressed.

(31:28):
It might be another Diegocollapse, the collapse on the
ground, like you did with Dukeloss.
So, and then I have to sitthere and not really dig in, all
right, because mom will get onme.
So I got to hold back and notreally give them that.
See, I have to get all mybusiness in.
Like first quarter, I can berah, rah, rah, but then, like

(31:50):
second half, if it's close, Igot to pull back.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
I can't really.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
You can't go too hard .
No, I can't go too hard, man,all right.
Too funny man, all right.
So can't wait for that, allright.
So next one man.
Oh boy, what a series.
Clippers, nuggets.
This is going seven, fittinglyso it should go seven.
I believe you and Diego bothhad the Clippers in this series.
I had the Nuggets and I evensaid Nuggets in six.

(32:18):
I said Nuggets in six, you saidClippers in seven, so you're on
par with that.
I think Diego probably saidClippers in seven as well.
We're going to give him that.
So, man, tomorrow night inDenver.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
Yeah.
So I'm really happy with howJames Harden performed last
night, because you know bigmoment James Harden, you know
sometimes it gets a little shakyand you know he really did his
thing.
So very, very good to see that.
Seeing Kawhi again do his thingNorman Powell has been great
this series Nick Matum havinghis moments and just hitting key

(32:51):
threes, the resurgence of Kawhi, that's what I've been very
excited to see.
And I think that again, theClippers, they are a team that I
feel like is going to get hotat the right time and if they
play the Thunder, they have tobe very worried because there is
a bunch of Because that is yetanother veteran team against a
younger team and I feel like theThunder, they have the
defenders to match up, but againit's like are you going to be

(33:14):
able to go up against people whohave been on deep playoff runs
before?
Right, so that's.
And with the Nuggets, I meanRussell Westbrook has had it's
like high variance moments whereit's like, hey, either he's the
reason why they win or he isthe you can point to him as the
reason why they lost.
And man, like the blown layup, the blow duck, I was like ross,

(33:40):
what's going on?
because literally it was likethe first year.
It was like game three orsomething, where he was like the
reason why they like won thatgame right.
And then this one is like, yeah, what's happening?
So I have a question I wantedto kick to you, but does
yokich's ranking as the bestplayer of the world change if he
loses in the first round thisyear?
To you at least.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
Ooh man, that's a good one.
It depends on what happens forthe rest of the series, because
hey, if Tatum repeats and Tatumis back-to-back although I don't
know if anyone would still wantto really call him best,
because the Celtics are sostacked.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
I guess that's how good the team is.
Yes.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
You know you have that.
Yeah, it really depends on whathappens the rest of the series.
But it is a conversation.
I don't think it's a done deal,that he's still the best, no
matter what.
I think it's a seriousconversation.
And this is the other thing.
With the Nuggets, we've got tostop this narrative that the

(34:38):
nuggets are a one-person teamand that they are don't have any
help.
Okay, they have the same, pretty much the same, starting
fight, at least for the startingfive from the championship.
You've got jamal murray who'sballing out.
You've got Gordon.
Yeah exactly, exactly.
And you've got the other.

(34:59):
Yeah, you've got Michael PorterJr.
So no, they have a deep teamand so we've got to stop this
narrative that it's just Jokerand that he's carrying the team.
But yeah, it's a question, itis a question yeah, I think that
honestly're honest, what I'vesaid.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
You know, that's why I that's my personal I wanted to
, just because of, like, howthey play, but again, both of
them getting first rounded andagain all the accolades, all of
them being like all-time players.
It's like okay, guys, likeyou've seen y'all you know, win
a championship and being able tolike lead your team there and
like backbend, but you haven'tbeen able to do it consistently

(35:39):
and we're holding y'all in suchhigh esteem.
So that's that's why I startedto question it.
But I still think I mean, to meat least, like just what he does
, the offensive, and I meanforget about it like I think
that and again, like becausethis mvp race is so close,
because of how the annoyingthing with his MVPs is the fact
that there was one that shouldhave gone to Embiid in the

(36:00):
really early one, the first one,but it's like this year.
I'm like I don't know what tosay.
You are the best player in theworld.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
It's just.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
SGA, having to be on the best team and it's just,
it's really tough.
I think that Jokic's rankingwon't it's not going to change,
but it's a conversation of likeokay, as in, we can say that
he's the best player in theworld, but so much.
You need to be more than thebest player in the world to be
on the championship team.
You need more than just thatone guy in order to win a

(36:30):
championship.
So that's why you got theCeltics, you got the Cavs, you
got the Thunder, you got allthese really deep teams.
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
I think the only, I think the only player that can
truly take best player in theNBA by winning a title this year
is Ant-Man.
Oh, okay, I think SGA.
He's probably going to be MVPanyway and people will say that
his team is so much more loadedthan the Nuggets.

(36:57):
So I think it inches him closer.
But I don't think people willtotally give him that If Ant
takes his team from a sleeperand wins the title and people
are already clamoring for him tobe the face anyway, yeah it's
going to be very easy transitionto call you.
Yeah, and he's already takingJoker out in the playoffs and if

(37:17):
they happen to play again, hetakes him out again.
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
That would be interesting.
Oh, I never thought.
I didn't really think aboutthat.
I think that again, ant is in aperfect position because again
he's the rare guard that canplay with house, who guards,
locks up and is going to giveyou 40.
So I think that it is the bestbalance of that.
But I'm very excited to seeGame 7, the end of this

(37:41):
wonderful series, because thishas been the best series of this
first round.
This first round was a littlebit of a dud, I'm not going to
lie.
I don't know how did you feelabout this first round overall?

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Well, it was tough.
You had, yeah, some duds forsure, but then the the ones that
were great were great.
So it was a little little topheavy maker.
I would say, uh, now when we gointo this next round, you only
have one that you're like, oh,okay yeah, but everyone outside
of that is going to be.
That's going to be fantastic.
Yeah, that's going to be fire.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
So yeah, yeah, excited about that.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
All right, yeah.
And then one other thing that Iwant to bring up is Giannis.
Yes, you know the freak man.
I think he would be the perfectfit in Houston.
Yes, man, because you alreadygot the defense, you got the
size and you put him there andmaybe get one other shooter.

(38:35):
You already have van bleetwho's clutch, but you bring a
pure shooter in.
If they could somehow getyannis, yes man, that would.
Because you imagine udoka.
Well, I know you love udoka.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
You know how I feel, right, yannis, I just don't want
him in the West Because again, that means that the West is the
most loaded in its history andagain, the West has always been
more loaded than the Easthistorically.
Yeah, but I really I'm worriedthat he's going to go to the

(39:07):
West.
As a Lakers fan, I'm like, hey,let LeBron retire, because the
battles were already crazy, right, without you know.
right, another top five playergoing to this conference you
know me, so it's like oh, man, Idon't want to deal with that
man at the western conferenceyear after year, because I now I
do want to win morechampionships, because he's the

(39:29):
reason why I even like want tobecome a journalist.
Like watching that, like bucksfinal series.
A journalist like watching that, like Bucks final series Okay,
I really like that.
I literally sat down andwatched it and like, after
hearing his stories, likethroughout the, the entire
finals, was like, okay, I wantto report on this.
I wouldn't like be there forthat.
You feel me Right, so, being inthat moment, and that's why,
like he's get more championshipsand accolades because of how

(39:56):
hard you play as a player, but, man, I don't want you to go to
the west.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Selfishly.
I'm like, please just stay out, because I want the problems.
Now I know we we're gonna getback on topic here, but you
don't want him to go to the west.
Yeah, but man, could youimagine if you swapped him out
for lebron on the lakers?
Because you talk about you talkabout a good fit.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
Yeah, now that's a good fit, because that would
give us man that would give usmagic and kareem 2.0, and oh my
goodness, I would be dude I'd beecstatic.
But I'm just thinking, likewhat can we trade?
But like how much faith wouldmilwaukee have in lebron?
What picks would we be able totrade?
That's just just a full fantasy.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
And LeBron would never go to Milwaukee.
Lebron would never go toMilwaukee.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
But Giannis, I mean if Dream Scenario LeBron retires
this season and Giannis is like, okay, it's not going to
necessarily look if I bringChase in, if I follow in the
likelihood of Lew Alcindor which, oh man, we'd be getting called
all types of names on theinternet because Luca Trey
already was like oh, we hatey'all.
If Giannis goes to us.

(40:58):
Oh, that's right.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
Oh, my goodness, I would not.
That might be something hemight have to go to the Clippers
, clippers, yeah.
Go to the Little Brothers, goto the Clippers Go to Houston.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
Let's smoke on you, bro, because you go to.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Houston people ain't gonna be mad at Houston, you
feel me.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
Anger of family man.
So the city ain't gonnadistract you.
So you're gonna be all right, but you're gonna be okay.
But yeah, I just I hope he goesto a good team at the Western
Conference, if anything.
But I've stayed in the East fora little while but I know
Milwaukee.
They have not helped you at all.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
But yeah, all right, yeah have not helped you at all.
Yeah, all right.
Yeah, all right.
Good, good, good.
Yeah.
Well, we're going to move on totalk about our next.
We're going to talk about someof these round two opponents
before we get out of here andbring on Brandon at the end for
the final take.
But before we do that, I got aplug for our sponsor, Lexi's
Bussin Bacon.
Again, check out her Instagram, those of you that are here.

(41:54):
North Carolina.
Lexi's Bussin Bacon has amazingtreats cookies, desserts,
everything.
Check them out.
And that's run again by a18-year-old high school student.
So it's phenomenal.
Very proud of her.
She's always a part of ourraffle at King's and just want
to give her a shout out as oneof our sponsors.

(42:15):
You can see the cookies here inthe front, all right.
So let's, man, let's move on toround two.
So we've got two matchups thatwe know of so far, right now.
All right, we were going tohave the Boston Celtics and the
New York Knicks.
We were anticipating this.
So Julian Heggie, who was onour show.
He called out and said that theCeltics were going to win in

(42:35):
five.
They did, said they wereplaying with their food, but now
they've got the New York Knicksand going to take care of
business.
So do the Knicks have any shotin this series?

Speaker 4 (42:46):
Carl Anthony Towns has to be at his best.
That's the only way I see themwinning in the series.
I mean, jalen Brunson's goingto be Jalen Brunson, you don't
got to worry about that, he'sgoing to show up, but it's just
the inconsistencies of everyoneelse, because Mikael Bridges
will have a game that disappear.
Oj Ananobi's been consistent, but is that enough?
Then you've got the Celtics whoagain that whole Magic series

(43:08):
was like oh bit.
It's like oh yeah, we're gonnalet y'all have a little hope.
And then derrick white drewholiday and everybody's gonna
turn up and it's just like everysingle game came out like that.
I feel like this will be alittle bit more competitive
because again, the knicks arecan't match up well with them
and they have two wings that canguard you to tater but jaylen
brown.
But that experience in the bigmoments is what.

(43:32):
Why'm still paying the Celticsto win?
And right now, because I didpick them to buy Lakers to win,
I hope I can curse the Celtics.
Okay, hey, let's see y'all getbetter.
19.
Oh God, that hurts to even say.
But I do think that the Celtics, they got it.
I don't see how they don't winthis series.

(43:54):
Series, if that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
Yeah, I agree, I think the Celtics take this in
six.
It'll be a good series.
But Celtics defense, I thinkthis is a Jalen Brown.
I think Brown's going to be bigin this series, man, but
Brunson Brunson's just beenamazing.
He's been absolutely fantastic.
Love what Brunson is doing.
Brunson, I consider him and, again, my definition of point

(44:22):
guards are different.
I don't consider SGA andCunningham and all these other
guys point guards.
I consider Brunson the bestpoint guard in the NBA right now
from my definition of a pointguard.
His footwork is impeccable andhe's the only guy of that size
that can take his teamsingle-handedly to the playoffs.
You know one exception I'llthrow Ja in there.
I'll throw Ja.

(44:42):
Ja is the other guy, but I putBrunson ahead of Ja, clearly, of
course.
So he is just phenomenal.
And the way he got open forthat last shot over Thompson
against the Pistons was unreal.
It looked like the way he gotopen.
It looked like he pushed off.

Speaker 4 (45:00):
It didn't at all.
It was flawless.
I think that the one thing withJalen Brunson is the fact that
he's going to routinely show up.
He might be injured.
I respect the dog that he hasbecause even if, like, something
bad happens with his ankle orlike something else is messed up
, there is a lot Like he's goingto lay it out all the court.

(45:22):
It's very rare that you seeplayers like that anymore.
So shout out to Jalen Brunson.
I really think that if your teamjust wasn't full of players who
are inconsistent as heck Iwould.
I would say that rk, like y'all, can win it all, but it's yeah,
I mean, it is what it is.
I I don't know if he couldcarry them against a juggernaut
like the celtics, so we'redefinitely gonna see.

(45:44):
But man, what a great seriesversus the pistons that he had.
Yeah, I really think that heneeds to be known as the best
point guard in the nba right now.
Easily the.
He won the most clutch playeraward, easily deserved, because
in the key moments he hedefinitely showed up in that
series.
So shout out to jaylen brunsonand I like.

Speaker 3 (46:02):
I like the next roster better last year.
Yeah, I think they were abetter because diva chenzo was
listen, as a lake.

Speaker 4 (46:10):
We're going back to that wolves laker series.
Dante diva chenzo gave us fitslike my goodness, it was like
the big shot.
I didn't even know how good ofa defender he was.
Yeah, until I, like until I waswatching that series, there was
moments where he was shuttingus down, like uh, he's one of
those sneaky players.
I was like if you could justturn and become a laker yeah

(46:31):
it's like there's certain roleplayers who I like one of my
team, dante diva chenso isdefinitely he is nice.
There's certain role players whoI like One of my team.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
Dante DiVincenzo is definitely one of them.
He is nice.
Yeah, I really like him.
Yeah, he's one of my favoriteplayers right now.
Love the way he's playing.
But yeah, I think the Knicksthey took a step back with those
moves.
I mean bringing in Cat, youknow DiVincenzo, your Harnstein

(46:56):
DiVincenzo they just had areally great mix in chemistry.
They were gritty and it was theinjuries that took them out
last year.
So I wanted to see that teamplay the Celtics.
I wanted to see that so bad andyou know we got robbed of that.
So, yeah, I don't think it'llquite be the same this year.
So we'll see what happens thereand also see if the

(47:18):
Timberwolves can hold on toDiVincenzo.
So that'll be interesting tosee what happens there.
All right, well, let's talkabout the last matchup here that
we know of.
For round two.
We've got the ClevelandCavaliers Again.
They had a monster year thisyear, regular season, and

(47:39):
they're about to play theIndiana Pacers Pacers coming off
that showdown against the Bucs, and you know it's so funny
because of the Bucs and Pacers.
We were clowning them talkingabout, well, we knew NBA TV, but
then you said ESPNU, right, andwe laughed.
But dude, last Friday they wereon NBA TV and ESPNU.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
They were actually on ESPNU.

Speaker 3 (48:03):
I didn't even know that was possible, but they
really were, so that washilarious.
But anyway, man.
So we already know the Cavs aregoing to win this series.
All right, so that's not evengoing to be who you got.
The question is can the Pacerswin two games?

Speaker 4 (48:20):
I mean, I believe they could if everything breaks
right.
But again, seeing how dominantthe Cavs are, but the Cavs being
dominant against Miami, I feellike that's fool's gold, because
there was a 37-45 team in theplayoffs.
Miami had no business being inthe playoffs.
I'm sorry, and this is whypeople are starting to argue to
get rid of the plate and allthat.

(48:40):
I say keep it, because theplayoff intensity earlier helps,
I agree.
But with the Eastern Conferencespecifically, it's like ugh.
It gets a little sticky onceyou get to the 10th seed,
because the work, because the10th seed in the Eastern
Conference is easily like 13, 14in the West, for sure.
So it's like man, I don't evenknow.
I think that the Cavs get hiton their business versus that

(49:03):
team, for sure.
I do think that Indiana, they, they seem to have the requisite
talent to maybe sneak one, but Idon't know if they can get too
off of them.
And again, the Cavs, they seemlike the real oil machine.
So we'll definitely see howthey do.
But yeah, I don't want PacerCeltics Like please.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
Oh my God, I don't want that, please, no, no,
handle your business.
Yeah, handle your For all ofour sakes.

Speaker 4 (49:29):
Listen, we've won in that conference finals since the
beginning of the season.
Since we saw y'all go on thosewinning streaks, we're like hold
on now.
Cleveland, this is your momentto prove that y'all are really
some thugs.
This is Donovan Mitchell'sfounding achievement, hey handle
your business.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
That's all I'm going to say in this season.
Mitchell, cleveland Cavaliers, please make sure you stretch
before the game, stretchproperly, do before the game,
stretch properly.
Do not pull any muscles.
Please stay healthy.
We cannot have the IndianaPacers in the Eastern Conference
Finals.
So for the economy, for thesake of ESPN, for the sake of a
lot of us, please stay healthyand take care of business.

Speaker 4 (50:05):
Yeah yeah, that team is way too.
The Cleveland Cowboys are waytoo talented to lose to this
team.
So please, Cleveland, handleyour business.

Speaker 3 (50:14):
We got this All right .
Oh, we have a question, we gota question.
Oh, here we go.
So question from Josh what doyou think what's up?
Josh Out of Cleveland?
What do you think of the hail?

Speaker 4 (50:31):
dad situation.

Speaker 3 (50:32):
Oh, yeah, yeah the dad for Hall Elliot dad
situation.
The situation with oh, oh, yeah, yeah yeah.
The dad for Hallenberg.
Yeah, Hallenberg man, you knowwe started to, we didn't get to
it.
We're going to get to thisprobably another time, because
we have a segment plan where wetalk about some of these dads
that are acting more like thesibling, acting more like the

(50:53):
brother, the homeboy.
Yeah, the homeboy than being thedad you got, Ja's dad.
You got, you know.
Now, Lamar never was that, buthe was just more loud and
obnoxious.
But he was never like you know,Lamar was never like a sibling.
But yeah, that was uncalled for, it was bad.
Now I do think in his defense,I think he got caught up in the

(51:15):
emotion, clearly, but there's noexcuse for it.

Speaker 4 (51:17):
You can't do that To a player like Listen man.
I'm glad Yannis forget he's6'11 sometimes.
I'm glad.
I'm so glad he forget how bigthat I forget how big he is,
because, my goodness, that'strue.
That's true.
I think that, like that's true.
Yeah, Giannis has a turtle beefwith the Panthers because I
remember it was like the highestscoring game that he had and

(51:39):
they like snatched the ball forhim and they didn't give him the
right game ball back, Like whatis up with that team.
That's another reason why Idon't want the Pan.
You're not good enough in avery average conference to talk
as much trash as y'all do.
I'm so sorry the Celtics willtake your lunch money every time
.
I hope Cleveland takes that too, Because y'all are literally

(52:01):
the fourth best team in theworst conference in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (52:05):
It's like… Exactly, I don't know right.
And that's why Hallenberg wasrated the most overrated player,
because they just don't likehim, because he's got the broke
down jump shot talking junk, andthey're like a mid-tier,
mid-tier team.
They have no right to be upthere talking as much junk as
they do.
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (52:24):
I just yeah, I really feel like when it comes to
certain teams, especiallyyounger teams, you have to earn
that.
Respect the Thunder.
They've earned that becausethey've been the one seed
throughout the past few years.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
The.

Speaker 4 (52:34):
Grizzlies early on, earlier in that run.
I feel like they earned itbecause of how dominant they
were.
The Pacers a little too spicyfor my liking.
A little too spicy, Icompletely agree.
Yeah, hallie's dad, please stayoff the court.
You're probably not even goingto make it to be on the court
because this series is going toget real rough for you guys.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
They've already announced he's not going to be
at any games for the foreseeablefuture.
They already announced that.
But it's interesting hewouldn't have run up on Isaiah
Stewart like that.
Not at all.
He knew he was running up onsimilar to Draymond Green.
Was running up on similar todraymond green?
Yeah, draymond convenientlypicks on the european players.

(53:16):
Yeah, right, you know hedoesn't.
He doesn't go up againstcertain guys.
Yeah, you know, that's how.
Again, that's how you knowpeople always assess the
situation.

Speaker 4 (53:23):
Dream on when he was younger, robert, or he was not
robbery, uh, medical piece wasstill in the league and he was
like uh, it's like we're realcrazy, be actual crazy.
It's like yeah, yeah, yeah it'sabout the crescent 300s of the
phantoms that's right, that'sright, all right, so, yeah,
thanks for the question.

Speaker 3 (53:43):
So, uh, all right.
So we are going to bringbrandon on here in a minute, but
I believe, before we do that, you had a, um, shador.

Speaker 4 (53:52):
Yeah, talk about Shador for a second, with Shador
sliding in the draft.
I mean it's a two-fold thing,because one I do believe the NFL
did seek out try to humble himand Deion and again, and not to
play devil's advocate for theNFL.
But, shador, if somebody couldhave been in his ear saying, hey

(54:16):
, they're not rating you as high.
You've got to show up to theseevents, just having the pro day,
not having the combine, nothaving the other workouts, your
interviews allegedly being bad,all this stuff.
That still doesn't warrant theslide, because I could
understand the second round ifyou weren't feeling Shador,
fifth round is absolutelybonkers, I'm sorry, I I feel

(54:38):
like again, if the first round'slike hey, like we don't, the
sealers are the same as why, hey, like we don't need a
quarterback right now, we'regood, but tyler shuck after not
even hearing about tyler shuckjaylen bill roll.
Okay, the upside maybe.
Maybe I could be sold on that.
Dylan gabriel was the one whereI was like all all right all
right now, everybody'sofficially lost their mind on
this one, and with Clevelanddoing the whole.

(54:58):
Well, it's not.
You have to earn your spot, you're going to have to be this
I'm like Cleveland y'all havenever been able to figure out a
quarterback situation, andrewBerry especially.
I'm going to just say this youtraded for Deshaun watson and we
know exactly first off, elsewe're gonna take the off the off
the field stuff outside, because we know that's
particularly heinous, right, thefact that he didn't even

(55:20):
produce when he was on the field.
And your backup quarterback, who is now much older, you had
to resign because the fans werelike, hey, he was actually the
reason why we made the playoffsthat year, right, instead of the
guy you traded and paid $200million for.
Right, I don't think y'all arethe best when it comes to
quarterback evaluation, forbeing completely honest, yeah,
so hopefully you don't breakShender.

(55:40):
Hopefully Shender can get outof the quarterback hell that is
known as the Cleveland Browns, because even still, when you had
Baker who's given all he got onthe field for you, tore his
shoulder up, had to come to us,and the reason why he was
terrible was because hisshoulder was still messed up,
then he goes to an actual team, you see him balling out.
So, cleveland, I don't thinkthat y'all are the best

(56:03):
organization to be talking aboutwhat's taken out of them.
When it comes to quarterbacks,I'm glad Schindler's drafted.
I'm appreciative of the factthat we have the chance to see
the talent in the NFL.
But yeah, I just think likeit's a messy thing all the way,
all the way around, and I dofeel like, had they like talked,
had more insight, knowledgeabout like where teams view

(56:24):
Shador, that would have beenbetter.
But I still think it was anattempt to humble him.

Speaker 3 (56:28):
It's just ah fifth round was was, uh was pretty bad
, um, it's just.
Ah, fifth round was pretty bad, yeah, but yeah, they needed to
read the room better.
I think a lot of thoseinterviews beforehand hurt them,
especially with Dion where theywere saying that a lot of the
you know other teams you knowshouldn't take on.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
They're not good enough, Right?
Not good enough.

Speaker 3 (56:49):
And so a lot of that definitely hurt and teams were
concerned.
You know of that, but, andteams were concerned of that.
But yeah, you have to know yoursituation right.
You've got the guy from what, penn State who's got all types
of issues right.
He didn't have to do anythingbecause of you know.

Speaker 4 (57:07):
The guy from Marshall .

Speaker 3 (57:08):
All the talent who's got?

Speaker 4 (57:09):
drafted to the Ravens .

Speaker 3 (57:10):
Right.

Speaker 4 (57:10):
Like there's and again, I could understand if,
like Shadur, was a nuisance offthe field, but even still, the
Cleveland Browns signed SeanWatson.
The NFL has never been greatwhen it comes to like moral
absolution.
So the NFL getting on a highhorse, being like, oh, like I
got to keep this person off thefield.
Knowing that you got a bunch ofpeople doing some philanderous
stuff in the league it's alittle crazy.

Speaker 3 (57:34):
I will say, though, for Shador he has a great
opportunity.
Yes, because there is no otherdominant quarterback there on
that team, not at all.
And that Cleveland fan base.
If he turns it around andactually makes them relevant and
them good, he will truly belegendary, Like the size that he

(57:57):
has in the room.
So if he can go in there andball out, he can make it a great
situation.

Speaker 4 (58:05):
My thing is, y'all gave an allegedly very cocky
person a chip on his shoulder.
I think that that's, you know, not the smartest thing y'all can
do.
So hey, nfl, I just I reallywant to see Shadur ball out, but
that was a crazy watch.
Now again other conspiracytheories that oh, they let him
fall so that more people will beinterested in the draft, which

(58:27):
I think is like that's a littlefar-fetched.

Speaker 3 (58:32):
I hadn't really watched the draft like that.
It worked for me.
That's what they did.
It worked for me for sure.
I'm curious to see what happensthere with the drama.
That's a rabid fan base there.
If he can do his thing there inCleveland, he'll start to build

(58:53):
that stock up.
Dak was a fourth-round pick.
He's gotten paid many, manytimes, Maybe too much.

Speaker 1 (59:02):
Yeah, maybe a little too much.

Speaker 4 (59:04):
Don't be worth it, baby, don't be worth it.

Speaker 3 (59:06):
All right, well, let's bring our guy Brandon on.
Yeah, Tom Brady Brady waspicked late, yeah, yeah.
And then your guy mysteryrelevant for the Niners Brock
Purdy was truly the very lastpick.
Yeah, yeah, all right.
Well, let's bring on our guyBrandon.
Brandon, we're going to closeout, man, with your final three

(59:27):
minutes here, my guy, so let'sget your camera on if you can
get that, get that going.
Can you hear us, brandon?

Speaker 2 (59:35):
oh yes, I'm, I'm here .
Oh you, good, my man you good, yeah, man.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
So, uh, here I'm just gonna run down the list, I'm
just gonna rapid fire on youhere, all right.
So, hey, lakers in five man, what, what's your take on that?
On that, that series did, didyou see that?

Speaker 2 (59:51):
coming.
Part of me, yes, part of me no.
But I got to give Minnesotacredit, what credit is due.
They kept the Lakers down asadvertised and they closed it
out.
They didn't play around.
So you got to give credit toAnt-Man and the rest of the team

(01:00:17):
for that.
Didn't expect Rudy to have agame of a lifetime, but hey, it
happens when you trade away AD.
But so there's that.
Ant-man faces the league.
He's shown some flashes of it.
I felt like you got to to me.

(01:00:39):
I think he got to deliver achampionship and a final MVP for
that to happen.
Golden State I felt like theycould still close it out.
I think they'll close outbetter in game six as opposed to
game five.
Yeah, so there's that.

(01:00:59):
Denver sports teams have twogame sevens going on tomorrow
night at the same time.
Oh, really.
Yeah the.
Denver Nuggets play the Clippersand then the Colorado Avalanche
plays the Dallas Stars on theroad.
Oh, I didn't know that itshould be like.

(01:01:22):
And, ironically enough, colorado and Dallas Stars
playoffs series.
In hockey it's the only gameseven as of right now.
Wow, that's ironic.
That's the thing of that's howcrazy playoffs work, especially
in hockey, because, like there'sa lot, there's no, you know,
parity.
I mean, well, there's no superteams or whatever in hockey, so

(01:01:44):
a lot of teams are very evenlymatched.
So there's that, giannis.
I kind of do see Giannis goingto the west.
um, I would say, don't besurprised if Gold State just
magically pulled a 2016offseason again where they just

(01:02:06):
clear the clear the players andsay, hey, we'll get rid of 4 or
5 players and try to go afterGiannis.
Like don't be surprised if theydo that.
Oh boy, wnba preseason juststarted.
Dallas is playing Vegas rightnow.
Okay, so shout out to PaigeBeckers and them.

(01:02:27):
Yeah, obviously they've gotsome injuries.
But you know, in sports it'shumanly impossible to go through
a full season without an injury.
They've got some injuries inthe W so far.
They have a docu-serieshighlighting women's sports in
college, called Full Court Press.
It's airing tomorrow night onESPN+.

(01:02:49):
It's run by a Omaha productioncrew.
That's run by Omaha ProductionCrew.
That's run by Peyton Manning.
Shout out to them for that.
I would say, before I go,congrats to Pop and his
retirement.
I've been retiring.
29 years of coaching for himlike five titles winningest

(01:03:18):
coach ever, yeah, arguably thegreatest coach in NBA history.
I wish he would have, you know, ended it better.
But hey, you know.
Congrats on his retirement andwant him to enjoy his retirement
.

Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Big time, big time.
Well said, well said, brandon.
Well, yeah, thanks for keepingus updated.
You dropped a lot of knowledgein those three minutes.
There's a lot that we didn'tknow about the, the docu, uh,
greg Popovich giving him hisflowers and, uh, the WNBA
preseason and everything.
And I love getting your takesthe wrap up, man.
That's why we got you wrappingthings up for us, my man.

(01:03:55):
So we love it.
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
Also May 16th.
That's when the WNBA regularseason starts.
You got the Fever in the Sky,and then Aces and the Liberty
opening night.
Then you have Big 3 basketballin June Okay, along with

(01:04:19):
Champions League soccer in June.
So there's a lot, obviously, kimball Walker and Dwight Howard
is now in the Big 3 with IceCube, so it should be a unique
season.
It's season eight for them andbig three basketball, so it's
gonna be a lot of sports in thesummertime.

Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
So okay, we'll be checking it out and that's when
we'll be back.
Uh, friday, may 16th will beour next show right here in the
studio.
So, yeah, all right.
Well, yeah, thank you, thankyou.
That's even more informationthat we need to know.
All right, well, yeah, thankyou, thank you.
