We are star-studded heretonight.
North Carolina's finest is inthe building and also beyond
North Carolina, we have people.
Man running up the frequentflyer air miles.
We have Arizona in the building, man, we got, you know, we got
Detroit in the house, detroit'sin the building always, and we
(02:12):
got Pittsburgh, pa, in thebuilding.
But let me stop for one second, man.
How you doing, bro?
Doing good, doing good, alright, alright.
So, diego man, this is yourmoment, this is your time, you
know, for Super Bowl.
You are currently undefeatedwith Super Bowl picks.
Yep.
So everybody's going to witnesshistory here tonight because
(02:36):
he's going to lose.
I don't know about that.
I don't know about that.
You're going to lose tonight.
You're going to lose.
You're going to learn today, all right, so you can already
tell what side of the fencewe're on what's your record.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Just let the people
know, like, what's your record?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
man, that's not
important, you know, not
important.
I'm the host of the show.
Look, I'm like LeBron James.
Okay, I'm a father.
Have you won one time?
I, I'm a husband, all right,good person, you know, haven't
gotten in trouble, you know.
I mean, I'm just going to leanon that.
I'm going to go to the LeBronJames route, all right.
(03:10):
But hey, I'm going to get a wintoday.
Let me get a win today, man,all right.
Well, let me tell you about ourshow rundown and then we're
going to get into the show here.
But we've got our first guest alittle later on is going to be
Mr Marquise Williams, former QBof UNC.
He's going to be joining us alittle later.
All right, excited about that.
(03:34):
We've got, we've got our highschool rising star, mr Number
23,.
Justice Mitchell from ClaytonHigh School is in the building.
Yes, he's in the building.
We've got man, we've got.
Oh my gosh, we have have.
Y'all heard of the hit smashover and over on the radio Heart
(03:54):
of a Woman by Summer Walker?
Heard that?
We've got the producer, mrTavares Jordan, in the building
behind that, yes, yes.
And then we have Mr ChuckGlobal coming in from Pittsburgh
, pa.
He blessed us with the songPick'em Pros.
He is in the building andTavares was on the beat.
(04:16):
So, man, just a great, greatshow.
And Pick'em Pros is expanded,right.
So we now have an NBA and NFLexpert who will be joining us in
a minute.
Uh, his name is christopherwilliams.
You've seen him many times.
He'll be on with us, all right.
And then we also have, allright, we've got brianna from
arizona joining us, who is ourshe's our pick and pros
(04:40):
correspondent, so we can't waitto have her on.
All right, so it's gonna begreat, all right, well,
correspondent, so we can't waitto have her on.
All right, so it's gonna begreat, all right.
Well, diego man.
First, before we get into Chrisand bring him on, let's talk
about Patrick Mahomes, all right?
So I see you've got all thegear on.
You know, you've got the SuperBowl hat, which is kind of weird
because the Kansas City Chiefsare not your team all right.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
I mean, I gotta it
was one of my wins, so I gotta,
you know, celebrate a win.
Ok, that's what it represents,ok.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
But I think it's a
rule that you can only buy the
championship gear if that's yourteam.
I think.
I think that's a rule.
That's in the rule book.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
No, that's not in the
rule book.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
OK, that's not in the
rule book, all right.
Ok, all right.
So if you get the pick right, you can get it All.
Well, tell us, before we bringChris on man, what's your take
on Patrick Mahomes.
If he wins this game, if hewins this Super Bowl, does that
solidify him as the GOAT?
Speaker 4 (05:30):
I think he's already
the GOAT with what he's done
right now, but I think a thirdSuper Bowl in a row would just
solidify it.
It would just solidify it withall that he's done, the
different teams he's taken toSuper Bowls, all the
accomplishments.
Yeah, I think that willsolidify him as a GOAT.
Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
You think that will
solidify him?
All right, yeah, man, you knowwhat I actually agree with you.
I agree, man.
What he's done has beenphenomenal.
I know many people look at TomBrady's seven Super Bowls, which
is phenomenal, but again, hewas not the main guy for the
first three Super Bowls, theywere more of a defensive team.
(06:04):
He was not the main guy.
Patrick Mahomes they don't havePatrick Mahomes.
They don't win any of theseSuper Bowls and if he becomes
the first to win three in a row,I think that gives him a very
strong case.
But we have some others on thepanel that will disagree with
that.
So we'll talk about that and goback and forth.
All right, well, let's go aheadand bring our first special
guest.
Y'all ready for the first guest, all right?
(06:27):
Oh man, it's going to be fun.
It's going to be fun becausewe're going to talk about a lot
of fun things with this guy.
We're going to talk about hisMr Lamar Jackson.
He's the Lamar Jacksonapologist.
Put your hands together for noone other than Christopher Davis
.
What's going on, my man?
(06:49):
All right, Chris, chris C Payne, that's right, aka C Payne,
which that name is so pretty.
You know, my wife coined thatfor you.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Oh, I know, I
definitely appreciate it for her
.
It's fire, it's fire.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Yes, that is fire.
That's fire, my man.
Well, welcome to the show, man.
So hey, let's just get right oninto it.
Chris Lamar Jackson, we allthought he was going to win MVP.
You were rooting for him allyear long to win MVP, although
we told you, hey, you shouldn'tworry about that, he needs to
(07:19):
get another chip before he winsZuba, although I was saying all
along Josh Allen was the MVP andhe would win that.
But that's okay.
I don't even know why I broughtthat up.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
I'm saying that too,
man.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
You were?
Yeah, I was.
I don't seem to remember that.
Okay, I don't seem to rememberthat.
But anyway, Chris man, what'syour?
Speaker 3 (07:40):
take on Lamar Jackson
not winning the MVP.
I mean, it is what it is.
At this point I need him to beon a scorched earth tour,
because no accolades for anall-time great quarterback
season is crazy.
I mean 4,000 passing yards, 900rushing guards, first
quarterback in history to everdo that.
Also, you know, 40 touchdowns, less than five interceptions,
all that stuff right, and hedoesn't win MVP.
(08:01):
Now again, bad taste ineverybody's mouth with the
playoff performance and MarkAndrews also having a horrible
game.
Lamar had a horrible first halfas well.
So I think I don't know howthat factor did, but I find it
funny how you can be first team, all pro, and then you suddenly
don't win MVP.
This is the first quarterbacksince the 80s for that to happen
.
That's kind of crazy.
(08:22):
But you know, shout out to JoshAllen.
He did have a great year, anamazing year.
I feel like my Lamar bias shineshows too much, because it
really was a good year for Josh.
I'm not because I called him aturnover machine, all that and
this year he really performed.
So you know what I'm bowing out.
Lamar, he scores first nextseason.
Let's worry about that.
Super Bowl MVP next year.
(08:42):
Man, he scores first nextseason.
Let's worry about that.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Super Bowl MVP next
year.
Man, okay, yeah, yeah.
So, diego, what's your take onthat?
Speaker 4 (08:46):
So last year the
argument was that Lamar, it
wasn't about the stats, but nowhe has the best stats and
everybody's complaining that hedoesn't win.
So that's just really the onlything.
And Josh Allen, I mean he hadthe better regular season, just
like team-wise, and just had allthe big wins beat Kansas City,
beat Detroit and, yeah, beatLamar in the playoffs too.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
So yeah, I mean, are
any of them playing on Sunday
though?
Who's playing on Sunday, josh?
Speaker 2 (09:14):
made it farther.
Yeah, Josh made it farther andJosh played spectacularly in the
playoffs.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
So yet again he lost,
better Got it.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yes, he lost better.
That's just all I wanted toknow.
He lost better.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Again, lamar, you
know he's losing, so you know we
don't got a leg to stand onthere, but you know childhood
Joshua, is England losing better.
Yeah, we'll see how next yeargoes.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
All right, all right,
okay, man.
Well, you know, we here atpicking pros, like I said, have
been growing and we've beenfortunate to have an insider who
is able to meet professionalathletes, so we are so blessed
to have Ms Brianna here on theteam.
She's been interviewing people,so we're going to have her join
(09:58):
the panel, tell us a little bitabout some of the folks that
she's interviewing for us, andwe're going to talk a little bit
of Kansas City Chiefs and therefs with her.
So put your hands together forBrianna.
All right, brianna, what'sgoing on?
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Not much.
It's really cold down here.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Well compared to
Arizona.
Yes, yes, definitely.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
I miss the heat
already.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Compared to Arizona.
Now, the people from otherareas would not agree.
But yes, it is.
You know, we have four seasons.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Yeah, you're really
lucky for that.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
All right, well,
welcome.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Thank you for having
me.
I feel really blessed to behere.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Yes, great to have
you.
Thanks for making the trip allthe way from Arizona.
So tell us about your new roleand some of the interviews that
you have lined up.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Yeah, so right now
I'm a correspondent for the
Pick'em Pros.
Yeah, so lately I did aninterview for an MLB pitcher,
luke Little.
He plays for the Cubs and thatpackage will be done after
spring training.
I have to get all the B-rollfor that.
And I recently did one on NickChaston.
He's a Muay Thai boxer,nine-time champion, so that will
(11:20):
be done next week.
So that's really exciting and Ihave a lot of other interviews
lined up.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Fantastic.
Yeah, that's great.
That's great.
We appreciate that.
That just takes us to a wholenew level and your ability to
you know, get these interviewsand do such a phenomenal job
with them is just expanding ourbrand.
So we appreciate that have youhere.
We know that you had some postswhere you were pretty upset
about the Kansas City Chiefs andthe refs and the homes and all
(11:50):
of that.
So you know we're not gettinginto our picks just yet, but
what's your take on the refs andthe chiefs?
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Okay, the refs really
help out the chiefs and it's
really annoying.
I say this in almost everysingle post I have on my
Instagram.
I'll never get old or tired oftalking about it at all but they
really help the Chiefs.
When they played the Bills, there was a whole face mask and
they didn't call it and thatwould have made the Bills get a
(12:19):
touchdown.
So when they don't call certainplays, when it helps out the
Chiefs, when it helps out theChiefs, you know it gets really
annoying, because the Billsshould have beat the Chiefs and
that's the end of the story andthey should have been at the
Super Bowl and said the Chiefsare, which is annoying.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
So that's the first.
So cameraman Aaron behind thescene.
He is a Kansas City Chiefs fan.
I'm not even going to mess withhim.
If you really want to get himmad, tell him he's a bandwagon
fan.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Bandwagon.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
And then he'll tell
you he's been a fan since 94,
and then he'll start namingrandom people that you've never
heard of.
Oh man, but all in good fun.
Well, it is going to be fun.
We can't wait for this SuperBowl and we're going to be
watching, and we can't wait tosee who you pick.
So it's kind of clear who somepeople are picking on the panel,
(13:19):
but we'll find out who the restare picking.
Yeah, we'll see.
We'll see.
All right, can't wait to see,all right.
Well, I believe MarquiseWilliams is in the building, so
we're going to have him on in asecond.
So we're going to take a quickbreak and we'll be back in 30
seconds.
All right, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
Thank you.
Thank you, jordan.
We'll try a ball talk, a biggerrole.
We're going to up the score.
Touchdown.
This is not field goal.
We, the winning team champions.
When you walk through the halls, you can play your bet with us,
because you know we're going towin them all.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, all right,
welcome back.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
So we told y'all, we
told y'all we've got North
Carolina's finest in thebuilding man, best of the best,
so excited for tonight, allright.
So, diego man, why don't youtell everybody who our next
guest is?
Man.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Our next guest is
former UNC quarterback, marquise
Williams.
All right, put your handstogether for him.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Come on, come on.
Oh, man, my God, thank you somuch for being here.
Appreciate you having me.
Yes, great to have you man.
So, man, we met about a yearand a half, two years ago or
(14:59):
whatnot and, man, you were sogracious with your time and we
appreciate that.
We've been excited to be ableto have you on and I know that
you know you being, you know UNClegend and whatnot.
You know the team wants you tocome and pump up the team and
whatnot, which is great, and youknow we got a chance to
tailgate with you out therebefore and that was a great
experience.
So we appreciate that.
(15:19):
I appreciate you guys forhaving me, man.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right.
Well, diego, you want to kickoff our first question.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Oh yeah, so you had
an incredible career at UNC.
What was your favorite momentfrom that?
Speaker 8 (15:31):
I would say beating
up on the Duke Blue Devils.
I want to say it was like ourlast home game.
We were 7-0.
We had a chance to be the firstteam ever in Carolina history
to go 8-0 at home.
And, man, we came out with aflea flick at the first play and
we set the tempo.
So you know, I know you're aDuke fan, so you know I had to
put a spank into them.
So that was my first game.
You're going to start theinterview like that man?
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Yeah, not basketball,
but football.
Oh man, great question, greatquestion.
So, marquise, how has your timeat UNC prepared you for life
beyond football?
Speaker 8 (16:07):
Man.
It's just shown me a lot, taught me a lot, but I think the
way I am as a leader showed methe adversity of life,
everything you got to go throughman being an adult.
My dad always said it's hardand it's hard, but that's the
blessing in this life.
You know, sometimes you liveand learn, and I just been
leading a team being able tolike overcome every adversity
I've been through in my life.
I think that's what changed meand made me the better person I
(16:29):
am today.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Wow, that's great.
That's great.
Yeah, that's a testament.
Testament to the school.
Yeah, absolutely, and to you aswell.
All right, you got the next one.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Diego, who did you
model your game after as a
quarterback?
Speaker 8 (16:41):
Man, I was a big, big
Vince Young fan growing up.
Oh man, it was incredible towatch him.
I actually wore number 10 inmiddle school.
I played at JMF in Charlotte sothat was like the biggest thing
and I wanted to be like VinceYoung and it was the greatest
thing.
I got to be like Vince Youngand and I it was the greatest
thing I got to play with him inthe CFL.
(17:01):
I actually took his spot.
He got cut so I always held itover his head that he's my idol.
But I had to send him home.
But man, we talk about it andlaugh about the same thing, but
Vince Young is one of thegreatest guys that I you know
I'm out of my game man he was.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
He was one of the
heck of a players man oh yeah,
yeah, I've got one actuallybefore you, next with Diego.
So how would Vince Young be intoday's NFL?
Speaker 8 (17:23):
I think he'd be one
of the best.
I mean, the league is becomingmore of a do-or-threat game to
me.
I feel like there's a lot ofrunning and gunning.
To be successful, you've got tohave a mobile quarterback.
That's right.
You look in a Super Bowl nowand there's two mobile
quarterbacks.
You know, in the divisionrounds there was Josh Allen
Lamar.
Those guys make plays withtheir legs not only with their
(17:45):
arm, but their legs too.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Absolutely yeah, one
of my favorites, for sure.
What's your next one, diego?
Speaker 4 (17:51):
How did you feel
after your record-setting
performance against Duke?
Speaker 8 (17:55):
It was incredible,
man.
It was one of the biggest gamesever.
It was incredible, man.
It was one of the biggest gamesever.
I think I set the record withthe most touchdowns in Carolina
history.
That game.
I'm sorry, man.
I'm glad you asked thesequestions, but, man, it was a
great time for us.
Man, it was a thing that thecross-robbled eight miles apart
and they wanted to come in andit was big bad tails that day
(18:16):
and we showed them who the realblue is.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
And I'm sorry I said
it again, but we the real blue
baby.
All right.
So, marquise, what are some ofthe biggest challenges?
Transitioning from collegefootball to professional?
Speaker 8 (18:31):
I mean, honestly, the
speed of the game is crazy.
I mean, these guys, you haveguys that's 6'4", 6'5", 6'6"
running 4-4s, 4-3s.
Everybody's much stronger thanyou, faster than you.
But the biggest challenge forme is you know that playbook.
I'm not going to act like itwas easy, dude, it was like
learning a new language.
Yeah, I mean, you know, I hadto spit it back to the players
(18:53):
and everybody got to know whateverybody's doing exactly.
But I would say, man, learningthe playbook and knowing the ins
and outs or why we're callingthis play, knowing defensive
fronts, three downs or fourdowns and bare fronts, I mean it
was challenging but it was alsoa fun time to do it.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Yeah, yeah, I bet, I
bet, yeah.
How long is a typical play inthe pros?
Speaker 8 (19:13):
I'll give you an
example, let's go strong right.
Z short, z short.
77 to X dagger F flag.
Uh Z ain't.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
So it's kind of
healthy man, that's one of the
shorter ones, wow, wow.
So who are your favoriteplayers in the league today?
Speaker 8 (19:30):
Uh, of course, man,
I'm gonna go with Lamar Jackson.
Um, you know, he's a, he's agoddess, doesn't get much credit
because he doesn't win the biggames, but man, for him to get
to those MVPs and things he'sdoing, he's one of the best.
I also give it to Josh Allen.
Man, that's a guy that I liketoo.
(19:50):
So Lamar is my guy, and thenJosh Allen, and I like Joe
Burrow too because he plays witha lot of swag.
Man, he does.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Yeah, he does for
sure.
So what's your thoughts on BillBelichick?
Speaker 8 (20:02):
Man, I'm excited man.
It seems like he's bringing inall the suns on the staff.
I'm excited to see how ittranslates from the pros into
college.
I think it's a different game.
You got 18-year-olds man thatreally care about a dollar these
days, right.
18-year-olds man that reallycare about a dollar these days,
right.
With guys like me, it's allabout winning.
(20:22):
You know it's now you have to.
How is he going to translatethat from you know, trying to be
in D man to like?
You know, basically, you haveto kiss tail these days, right,
honestly, to get players whatyou want.
That's true, and that's thechange of the game, man, so I'm
excited to see how well he doeswith it.
I hope you know I win therecord for us.
That's all I can pray, man,because you know it's been a
struggle for us since 2015, mylast year, so I'm hoping things
(20:45):
can get back rolling for us atChapel Hill.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Okay, okay.
So how would you rank yourall-time UNCQBs?
I don't know if you want to dotop three, top five.
I'll leave that up to you.
Speaker 8 (20:57):
Oh well, you know I'm
always a humble guy, so I would
go Sam Howell.
Okay, I always thought SamHowell was very special.
Drake man, then myself, thoseguys, man, those guys had a
different talent and that's justhumbly speaking man.
Those guys were very, verydifferent and they went out and
showed it every Saturday and alot of people would definitely
(21:18):
put me number one, but I'll putSam Drake and then myself.
All right, I do have 11 winsand they never got that.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
So I'm going to give
myself that's right, that's
right, that's right, that'sright.
Yes, yes, make some noise forthat Marquis, who's the best
player you ever played against.
Speaker 8 (21:33):
Best player I ever
played against against, I would
have to say Deshaun Watson.
He was different.
I mean he played quarterback, but I mean the way he managed
the game.
I mean he was only a freshmanor redshirt freshman playing in
the AC Championship and he wasincredible.
I think he set the AC recordfor like 490 yards.
But the way he managed it, theway he made it slow down and I
(21:56):
was a senior looking over atthis guy like man, this guy got
like two more years and he'sgonna be the real deal.
He ended up being the real deal, you know he has some adversity
he's going through right now,but I think that's what's going
to challenge him.
To get back to that deshaunwashington, that number four
that everybody always know.
Yeah, so I would give it tosean washington man.
He was, he was a special, hewas a special guy and he's still
playing, but he's a special guy.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
That's right.
Speaker 8 (22:16):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
What advice would you
give to young quarterbacks
trying to lead their team towins and success?
Speaker 8 (22:23):
Never get down to
yourself.
It's funny that one of myquarterbacks here I trained man.
His name is Levin.
He had a rough day the other dayand I was like Levin man as a
quarterback.
You can never get down toyourself, because once you lose
confidence in yourself, who'sgoing to put the confidence back
in yourself?
And that's the biggest thing, man leading your team, doing the
(22:45):
right things.
Man, the biggest thing is doingthe right thing is always
knowing the adversity is coming, but how are you going to
overcome the adversity?
A lot of people say at theUniversity of North Carolina
when adversity hits me, I alwayssmile and everybody says today
I'm smiling, I'm going to smile,smile, smile.
That's the biggest thing inthis world, man.
When you get hit in the face, get back up and smile and say,
(23:05):
okay, I'm going to take anotherchance, but I'm going to get the
next one.
So it's always about leading byexample and always believing in
yourself number one, and takingit day by day, brother.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
I love that.
I love that.
Taking it day by day, brother,I love that.
That's great advice.
Well, we have one more questionfor you and then we have some
audience questions that we'llget into in a minute here.
So everybody's excited to haveyou here.
Thank you again.
So, with NIL deals in play, howdo you think that has changed
the landscape of collegefootball today?
Speaker 8 (23:33):
I love it, but then
again I'm not a fan of it.
I think soon it's going to be aprofessional thing and you know
I feel like the ACC is going toget wiped away because how much
money Texas A&M, Texas, OhioState, these guys are bringing
in.
You know a lot of people thinkthat Carolina has a lot of NIL
money when we don't Right, wedon't, and that's shocking to a
(23:54):
lot of folks.
But like it's, it's gonna bechallenging, man, because I mean
you look at the sec now, I meanmissouri is a basketball school
.
Speaker 6 (24:03):
When, when?
Speaker 8 (24:03):
did they become a
basketball right football school
.
Money talks man.
So these guys in sec arekilling us at nil, making the
acc look like we don't belongnowhere, no more.
So I'm a fan of it, but I'm notalso give give guys their
credit and give them their money.
If their jersey is getting sold, I think they should get a half
of that NCAA should not makemoney off of somebody.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Absolutely.
Speaker 8 (24:23):
I go back to myself.
I want some of that money too.
Man Right, my jersey's gettingsold.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
For sure.
Speaker 8 (24:28):
I think it's an iffy
situation for me, man.
I don't know how to feel aboutit.
I think our women's lacrosseteam they got some girls that's
Olympic winners, but they don'tsee the NIL Right.
I think they got the mostnational champions in college.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
I believe so.
I'm excited about it, but thenagain it's like oh man this is
turning into a professionalprogram and everything.
Now, right, yeah, yeah, theyeven have general managers now
because of that, and that'scrazy, you know.
Speaker 8 (24:54):
You hear what Coach
Davis said we got to go get a
general manager after what Dukedid to us.
But man, that's what's changingthe game, man?
And then general managers yeah,it's become a professional now.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Absolutely All right.
All right, well, we haveBrianna.
We have some questions from theaudience, all right, All right.
Speaker 5 (25:16):
I'm Brianna and I'm
here with Danielle.
How are you?
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Hey great.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
And she does have a
question for you?
Speaker 9 (25:22):
Yes, first, I'm a
huge UNC fan, so thank you for
all that you've done for UNC.
My question for you is what wasyour major driving factor for
you to be so successful withyour career?
Well, I mean say to him sorry, what was your major factor for
you to be so successful withyour career?
Speaker 8 (25:38):
Well, I always people
doubted me.
Everybody said I wouldn't be ahigh school quarterback because
I came from a small town, shelby.
So it was like, oh, you neverstart quarterback in a big city,
in Charlotte, proved them wrong.
And then everybody was like, well, he's just going to be an
athlete and play tight in whenyou get to college.
So people that always doubtedme gave me the motivation to be
(25:59):
successful and I knew I wantedto make Carolina a football
school.
Everybody always talks aboutCarolina being a basketball
school, but me, I changed that.
I wanted to go somewhere wherenot Virginia Tech, not Michigan,
not Florida, where it's alwaysfootball.
I wanted to go to Carolina.
Let me get this team back onthe map.
And we won 11 games.
So that's what my motivation.
Thank you, Marquis.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
All right, and we
have one more question.
What is your name?
Jackson Osterling, all right, and what's your question?
What is the favorite gameyou've played?
Say it again what is yourfavorite game you've played?
Speaker 8 (26:35):
Favorite game?
A video game or something.
No, like one of your footballgames.
Oh man, we know what's coming.
I'm going to say Pittsburgh wasone of my favorite games also.
It was a Thursday night game.
I think Pittsburgh was 7-0 andwe were 6-1.
I don't know if you guys eversaw this, but it's one of the
craziest games I've ever had.
(26:55):
I actually got face masks.
I fixed my face mask and threwa 63-yard bomb to Ron Switzer
and it was amazing.
So I would say that was one ofmy favorite games also, other
than beating up on the Dukies.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
All right, love it.
Love it.
All right, that's our questions.
All right?
Well, marquise, thank you somuch for your time.
It's been great to have you.
I know we talked about doingsomething more in-depth in the
studio, so we got to get thatbecause you have a great story
and I want to help tell that.
So we'll talk and put somethingmore in-depth together.
Speaker 8 (27:28):
I appreciate you,
guys, man, and thank you all so
much.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Thank you, put your
hands together for Marquise
Williams.
All right, appreciate you Allright.
All right, man, starting offwith a bang here.
Starting off with a bang?
All right, diego, you ready totalk a little NBA man Ready?
(27:53):
Yeah, the NBA.
They've been making waves, making noise, yeah yeah, they've
kind of stolen some of thehighlights from the NFL here.
I don't know if they're madthat the NFL had games on
Christmas, so I think they'regetting them back with all these
big deals here.
But, christopher Davis, whydon't you come on and join us?
My man, let's talk a little NBA.
Speaker 12 (28:17):
All right, all right
.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
I don't know why
you're cheesing over there, man.
Oh oh, we're just getting a topfive player.
Pick up your mic, Sorry.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Just getting a top
five player under the age of 25.
Under the age of 26,.
Actually, he's turned 26 soon.
Yeah, as a Lakers fan, what atime to be alive, man.
What a time to be alive.
How are y'all feeling about it?
I, man, what a time to be aliveman.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
What a time to be
alive.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
How are y'all feeling
about it?
I feel like you know let Diego.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
I don't know about
the fit.
I don't know about the fit Himand LeBron.
I don't know if they're goingto click together and they don't
have a reliable center either.
Mark Williams, they picked uphim but, he's been hurt half the
year.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Well, at this point I
just want to see, because at
least we have a future at thispoint.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
At least you got a
chance.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
The one thing I was
worried about as a Lakers fan,
especially as LeBron is startingto wind down, is what's the
future going to look like?
Are we going to have a coupleyears where we tank?
We got Luka now and I meanwe've seen the Mavericks.
They're always going to theplayoffs, always competing for
conference finals.
Took them to the finals lastyear and again shout out Rob
Palenka for the greatest highwayrobbery I've ever seen.
(29:21):
That was amazing.
That was amazing.
It did seem like I mean, peoplethought it was fake, right, yeah
, I woke up so confused thatnight I was like, okay, this is
obviously a hack, something'swent wrong, like somebody just
typed something wrong in theheadline.
And then I saw the news wasofficial and I was like, okay,
this is crazy.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Now are you concerned
that there's something deeper
going on?
I mean for the Mavs to just letLuka go like that.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
With the NBA and the
ratings being down, I'm not
Listen, because my team isreaping the benefits of this
award.
I would say no.
But come on, adam Silver, youwant a top five player in one of
the best locations in the NBA.
I do feel like something wasafoot.
But now Austin Reeves did have45 points tonight, so hopefully
(30:12):
he can fill that third star roleand continue to be great.
I like all of our other pieces,I'm just very excited to see
what the rest of the season andwhat the future holds for the
Lakers, because honestly, Idon't still think we're a
championship team.
I don't think automaticallywe're going to the finals, but I
do think that we did setourselves up very well for the
future.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
So I'm excited.
So, diego, you put a post out.
You said you felt it was awin-win.
Why don't you tell us a littlemore about that?
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Yeah, well, the
Mavericks, their defense got a
lot better because Luka's not agreat defender, ad he's one of
the best defenders in the league, paired with all the centers
they have.
And the Lakers got a big name.
So that's what they like.
They like big names.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
So, yeah, that's a
win-win A big name that just
took his team to the finals.
I just want to say half theyear, yeah, yeah and a big name,
who is going to continue to beone of the greatest players in
the nba and that defense was,you know, once they made those
trades before the trade deadlinelast year and they turned that
defense around.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
That's when the mavs
really, really seemed to turn a
corner.
But, diego, what's my lifelesson?
Do you know my life lesson?
Uh, I don't think I know.
You don't know which one I'mtalking about?
All right, the life lesson iswhen something seems to be too
good to be true.
It normally is.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Hey man, we're going
to see, we're going to see,
we're going to see A lot ofdreams and optimism.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Yeah.
But you know what?
We're not going to take that.
You're smiling, you're happy.
We're not going to take that.
You know you're smiling, you'rehappy.
We're not going to take thataway right now.
So you know, I want you to stayhappy.
I think they play tonight,right.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yeah, no, we won.
Austin Reeves dropped 45without Luka and Aaron Brown.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Okay, beat the Pacers
.
Okay, beat the Pacers.
How did Luka do tonight?
Still warming up he's stillgetting better.
Oh, he's still getting better, yeah he's still getting better.
Okay, all right, all right Like.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
I said we focus on
the future.
Man Like listen, I thought wewere going to take him.
We would be one of the worstteams in the NBA as soon as.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
LeBron left, we back,
okay, we back, okay.
So the professor says the Mavsput on a clinic today.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
Yeah, who had a lower
body injury after the fourth
quarter.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Yeah, it was nothing
serious.
Yeah, nothing serious, anthony.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Davis is surely going
to be fine.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Surely yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
Y'all called him
Shrieklos the whole time.
He was on the Lakers, though,so now, all of a sudden, we're
going on injury history y'allNow all of a sudden, he's great.
Got it, got it.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
Okay, that's how it
works, all right.
Well, let's talk about the Hemi.
Jimmy trade Went to Diego'sGolden State Warriors, all right
, so Diego man.
Diego, tell us about yourGolden State Warriors and Jimmy
Butler man.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
Jimmy Butler is going
to lead us to a championship in
the next three years.
Jimmy Butler is the X FactorPlayoff.
Jimmy is what we need to get tothe finals and win it.
He's what we need.
He just got it.
He just got it.
He just got it.
So you?
Speaker 2 (32:59):
always have to take
stuff too far.
You got to take stuff too far, man.
That's crazy.
Nobody thinks the golden statewarriors and himmy jimmy is
going to take them to the whoyou do?
Okay, well, you know what?
Maybe they will.
My wife said they are, so letme, let me straighten up.
All right, what's your take onthis, chris?
Speaker 3 (33:22):
I mean, y'all did
trade very solid rotational
pieces, so that is a bitconcerning.
It doesn't matter.
But again, hey, let's see whatJimmy does.
You know he automatically seemsto turn on the playoffs.
Hopefully, seeing the fact thatyou guys already are looking
like a play-in team, he's goingto need to ramp it up as soon as
he gets there.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
So hopefully he's
going to it up as soon as he
gets there, so at least earlyinstead of you know in the
playoffs.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Yeah, what's the
currency?
Uh, that's not important.
Oh yeah, not important.
Wow, like like father, like son, right, we're focused on
championships, we're focused onchampionships all right, okay,
that's a good one.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
That's a good one,
all.
So.
What does this do for the NBAfinals?
Who would you say is thefavorite right now?
What would your prediction be?
We're not going to hold you toit, of course, but based off of
these moves, diego, who wouldyou put in the NBA finals?
Speaker 4 (34:12):
I would go with the
Celtics out of the East and the
Thunder out of the West.
I mean the Thunder.
They've just been playing sogreat.
Chet's been injured most of theyear and SGA's just been losing
his mind and going crazy, butI'd actually pick the Thunder to
win it all.
Win it all.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Thunder to win it all
?
Okay, all right.
Thunder to win it all, allright.
What about you, chris?
Speaker 3 (34:32):
I'm going to still go
with the Thunder and Celtics.
I was leaning towards theKnicks but again I have a
feeling Tom Thibodeau runningthe boys to the ground is going
to happen again.
But I do think that you knowjust Boston's playoff experience
is going to come through againin the East.
I don't trust the Cavs andagain OKC them.
Young boys down there like Cheis really doing his thing and he
(34:54):
showed one MVP.
That's my MVP pick right now.
He's been going crazy.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah, mvp, that's my
MVP pick right now.
He's been going crazy.
Yeah, man, we have any BostonCeltic fans in the building?
Nah, boston Celtic fans in thebuilding?
No, okay, yeah, that's what Ithought.
I thought we had at least onein the building, alright, yes,
yes, hey, put the crowd, michael, the crowd camera on let's show
.
Where's our Boston Celtics fan?
(35:20):
There, he is there.
He is.
Yes, yes, yes, you're going tobe on the show.
We're going to have you on theshow.
Man, we're going to talk as weget a little deeper.
So I also have the BostonCeltics going to the finals this
year, but I have a rematch ofthe NBA finals from last year.
I've got the Boston Celticsplaying the Dallas Mavericks.
That's who I've got in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
Finals who's going to
win it?
Speaker 2 (35:44):
The Dallas Mavericks.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Yes, glad you're
standing on that, bro.
Just stand on that.
Yes, I'm standing on it.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
I'm saying it with my
chest Standing on that,
standing on business.
So you might see a return ofJerry on that one, like.
So you might see a return ofJerry on that one.
Like I said, we're cleaning upour act.
We're drinking pure green, allright, and we are going to get
the title.
All right, you saw Jerry firedup the jet, came all the way
down to Clayton and got somepure green.
Y'all saw that, right.
Yeah, I saw that.
You know Jerry did his thing, all right, y'all, he did his NBA
(36:18):
.
Y'all ready to hear from arising star, justice Mitchell?
Yeah, we got to catch up withour guy.
We talked to him back inNovember and now he's in the
midst of the season, so he'scome back to tell us about
what's going on.
So we're going to take a quickbreak and when you come back,
we're going to introduce JusticeMitchell.
(36:39):
All right, when you come back,we're going to introduce Justice
Mitchell.
All right, we'll see y'all in alittle bit.
Let me hit this the Thanks forwatching.
Welcome back, ladies andgentlemen.
(37:35):
All right, diego, why don't youintroduce our next guest man?
Speaker 4 (37:42):
We got the guy who's
about to score 1,000 points from
Clayton High School.
Justice, mitchell, put yourhands together.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
All right, we got our
guy man.
How you doing, man, I'm good,I'm good, good our guy, man, how
you doing.
Man, I'm good, I'm good, Good, good man Coming straight from
the court.
So you had a.
You know, we had some inclementweather here a couple weeks ago
when you guys have had likefour games in six days or
something like that, and youguys played earlier today.
(38:12):
How'd you?
Speaker 13 (38:12):
do.
I did good, I had 16.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
So I mean we got a
win.
It was a close win but good, got it good.
Good, I love it, man, love it.
Well, it's great to see you,man uh.
So I know you've been on thequest to uh score a thousand, so
wait a minute.
So you said you saw 16 today, okay, so did you get the
thousand?
Speaker 13 (38:29):
yes, sir, oh, put
your hands together.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
Yes, oh man, that's
awesome man.
Yeah, big time, big time.
So now I know you also wantedto get 500 rebounds, but you had
an injury earlier this seasonso you haven't been able to play
the whole season.
But where are you right now onrebounds?
Speaker 13 (38:46):
Oh no, I got that
too.
Oh, you already got it.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
All right, so you got
your goal.
Oh, that's wonderful.
I love it, I love it, I love it, man, so wow.
So tell us about the injurythat you had in overcoming that.
Speaker 13 (39:00):
Oh yeah, that injury
sucked in the beginning of the
season.
You know, I had to sit downwatch my guys play.
We lost our first game of theyear.
That really sucked.
I felt like if I was there wewould have won it.
Yeah, we would have done good.
Sure, not just because I'm I'msaying like I'm good, but like
because I feel like us as a team, like we, we win all the time
(39:21):
like I think we're all together, all about it, we're just the
unstoppable team, absolutely,absolutely.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Now you guys are fun
to watch.
It's been a joy to watch youguys all season, so, uh, I'll
give it to you, diego see thatthree point shots been hitting
all year.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
Just how have you
improved on that throughout the
offseason and throughout theyear to make that a big part of
your game?
Speaker 13 (39:40):
Offseason I went in
the gym early, late all the time
.
I was always in the gym justshooting.
During the season too, I'mstill shooting.
My coach opens up the gym, soshout-out to him.
I'm glad that he opens the gym.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
It shows me that he
wants us to win, he wants us to,
he cares about us and all that.
He goes in the gym whenever, like, I can text him at eight,
nine and he'll go and open thegym for me.
Wow, yeah, that's great, yeah, yeah, great, great team there.
Yeah, your shot looks sweet, man, it looks really good.
I mean, it's obvious.
Yeah, you've definitely been inthe gym and working, so it's
looking good and it's net too.
It's not like it's rattlinginto nothing, it's pure man
Looking real good.
All right, we'll give it to you, diego.
Speaker 4 (40:19):
So I know you hit
your 1,000-point, 500-rebound
goal.
What are your other goals forthis season?
Speaker 13 (40:25):
Now what I'm looking
forward is to all these team
goals that we have to getthrough.
Sadly, we can't beat, we can'twin the conference championship,
but we do got a conferencetournament that we can win, so
we're looking forward to that.
And playoffs.
We're trying to go all the way.
I think we can, I think we allput our pieces together.
I think we're going to be greatoh that's fantastic.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Yeah, so with that
conference tournament.
So if you guys win that, do youguys?
Do you think you have to winthat tournament to get in?
Or you think you'll be in theplayoffs, no matter what?
What are you thinking on?
Speaker 13 (40:54):
that we're in the
playoffs, no matter what.
Our team strength is already sohigh to where they marked us in
as one Got you.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Alright.
So with NIL man, I know I'veseen a lot on social media.
I've seen you plugging certainthings out there.
What can you tell us about someof the deals that you have
right now?
Who are you aligned with?
Pure green?
I you aligned with that.
You can speak to Pure Green.
Speaker 13 (41:18):
I'm aligned with
Pure.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Green, All right.
Pure Green.
Put your hands together.
Pure Green, All right.
Speaker 13 (41:22):
Great smoothies.
They're a good company.
They're good people too, yeah.
And then my other one that Ican talk about is Cleveland
Draft House, located in Claytontoo yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
And that's fantastic.
Well, no man.
Best to you.
And then last, uh but not least, I know that you've had your
eye on, uh, you know, a lot ofcolleges and whatnot.
Um, we're not gonna put you onthe spot with with any of that
right now, because I know it's alot going on.
All I say is, when it's timefor you to, I know you're
narrowing it down, but whenyou're actually gonna make that
final final, we'd like you to beable to join us and to be able
(42:00):
to make that announcement.
All right?
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Yes, sir, I got you.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
I'll do that.
All right, I appreciate that.
I appreciate that.
Cool man.
Well, hey, man, you're one ofour favorites.
We love watching you.
Again, you were after my heartwith the post game, but now
you've added an outside game, sojust so fun to watch.
And, man, you know we'll bethere repping, giving T-shirts
out, doing whatever we can tocheer you guys on.
(42:23):
Thank you I appreciate you, appreciate you, man.
Put your hands together forJustice Mitchell.
Oh, we got.
We got some questions on myback.
All right, brianna, ourcorrespondent is going to lead
the questions that we have foryou, all right.
Speaker 5 (42:39):
All right, I'm here
with Julian, All right.
And what's your question?
Speaker 12 (42:43):
So for Justice as a
high school phenom, what are you
most excited about?
Going to the next level?
Speaker 13 (42:48):
Probably developing
my game.
You know I'm not going to sayI'm scared, but like I'm going
to stand for, like what I am, Ithink I'm a good college
prospect.
I think I'll do good in college.
I'm not going to back downanybody, whoever tries to come
at me, I'm coming right back atthem.
Speaker 2 (43:05):
That's right, let's
keep Julian.
Julian is our Celtic.
You got anything you want tobless us with on the Celtics,
any tips or anything you want toshare about the Celtics?
Just expect for them to be inthe finals.
That's all.
That's it, ok, all right, allright, all right, thank you.
All right, justice man.
We appreciate you.
(43:26):
Man, have a great, greatevening.
Are you going to bowl with us?
Yes, sir, all right, soundsgood.
All right, all right, we'regoing to take a quick 30-second
break and we're going to have aword from our sponsors, pure
Green and Raleigh Paving next.
So a quick, quick break.
We'll be are back.
We got a word from our sponsors, partners, everything.
(44:25):
Man, pure Green, how you doing?
Cody Danielle we call you byyour official name how you doing
?
Good, how are you Good?
Good, having fun?
Good, yeah, great to have youhere.
Thank you for the products andwhatnot.
And then we also have thesehealthy shots here.
All right, now we normallywe've kind of coined these our
(44:46):
island shots when somebody's onan island.
But you know, by being theSuper Bowl, the odds are very
unlikely that somebody's goingto take an island shot on the
show.
But we'll see.
You never know.
Speaker 11 (45:00):
So we'll see.
You never know, so we'll see,all right, but anyway.
So why don't you tell us alittle bit about your company?
Yeah, so we brought Pure Greento Clayton, north Carolina.
It's basically an all-natural,organic juice bar.
We do smoothies, acai bowls, also juices.
You see juices on the tablewellness shots, oatmeal, toast,
things like that.
But our key is just to keep itall natural, to make it the most
(45:20):
beneficial for the human body.
As far as pre post recoveryhydration just a good way to
fuel the body.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Wow, nice, nice, yeah
, well, yeah, we again.
We love your products and, diego, you were taking all of
mine, man.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Yeah, I was.
I had like three shots in oneday.
What's your favorite?
I like the blue one.
That was awesome.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
Yeah, blue was
awesome.
Yeah, they were great, Allright.
So I see, Danielle, you'rewearing the green.
Does that symbolize anything?
Speaker 9 (45:51):
It does.
I'm pulling for the Eagles.
I want them to win.
So here we are.
Here we are All Eagles.
I want them to win.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
So here we are.
Speaker 11 (45:57):
Here, we are All
right.
How about you, cody?
Yeah, I came kind of neutral, just a little undecided, I do
like, with Diego the three-peatthat's going on.
We did go to our first Philliesgame about a month ago, so I'm
Eagles all the way.
All right, all right, soundsgood.
Speaker 2 (46:13):
Well, thank you so
much.
We have some great promos thatwe're going to be putting on
Instagram, so we're excited tocollab with you.
I can already say one of themall right, so we're going to be
teaming up with Pure Green onInstagram.
We're going to have a contestand we're actually going to put
up two seats to our box thatwe're going to have during the
first round of the NCAAtournament.
(46:34):
So there's going to be a gameFriday, march 21st, round one at
the Lenovo Center, and thosethat like and subscribe to both
of our channels will be eligiblefor a raffle to be able to hang
with me and Diego in the box towatch round one.
So we're looking forward tothat.
That's going to be exciting, thank you guys.
Alright, thank you very much.
(46:55):
Alright.
Pajamas got it for Peel Green.
Thank you, guys.
All right.
All right, thank you very much.
Yes, thank you, all right.
All right, pajamas got it fromPeel Green, all right.
And then we've got one moresponsor joining us.
Put your hands together.
Not only is he a sponsor ofRally Paving, he also has his
own podcast, whole Shots, and isa regular on the show.
Mr Johnny O.
Oh, thank you.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
Mr Johnny O.
Speaker 6 (47:19):
Thanks for having me,
y'all.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
What's going on?
Y'all what's going on.
Everybody loves Johnny O Can weget a Johnny chat?
Johnny, johnny, johnny.
Speaker 6 (47:28):
Johnny, johnny.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
There we go.
All right, my man, so tell usabout Raleigh Paving.
Speaker 6 (47:36):
All right.
So you know everybody needs alittle bit of rehab when they're
parking lots and if they walkout there and there's cracks and
it's not looking up to par, give Raleigh Paving a call to
get your parking lot redone fromthe bottom up.
Make it look brand new again.
Better curb appeal.
You need your lines stripedagain.
We can stripe them, we cancrack, fill them, we can do all
(48:00):
the type of upgrades you needfor your business to make that
curb front look good again.
And the best thing about it allis the team and the camaraderie
we have.
It's a family vibe, all theguys that have been there.
We've been together longer than10 years, so you know
everything meshes really welland just like in football,
(48:21):
basketball, any team sport, ittakes a good team to create a
champion and if you know how topick them right, like the pick
and pros, you'll pick RaleighPaving.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
That's right.
Absolutely, absolutely,absolutely.
Red got a Super Bowl questionfor Johnny.
Who's your pick for the SuperBowl?
Speaker 6 (48:40):
man, if you had, if
you had a gun in my head, I'd
have to say the Eagles.
I guess it depends because theNFL, all they got to do is close
their eyes and dial the wrongnumber, and they'll find a good
set of referees that loveMahomes, so hopefully we'll find
a good set of referees thatlove Mahomes, so hopefully we
can see a good game.
(49:01):
I mean, all the jokes aside, good for both those teams.
And Diego, as much as I gotyour back on all your picks, I
got to go with the old man onthis one.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
Yeah, baby, yeah,
diego, that streak is ending
this week.
Diego, you're going to be 3-1.
3-1.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
3-1.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
3-1, baby 3-1.
All right.
Well, Johnny, we're going toget you out on this last
question, man, because you and Iwere joined at the hip on this
one.
The NFL MVP.
Speaker 6 (49:28):
Let's go.
Josh Allen, yes, you called itfrom day one.
Speaker 2 (49:33):
I feel like I did Day
one.
Speaker 6 (49:34):
I from day one.
I feel like I did day one.
I mean, you could run the tapesback if you don't believe him,
diego, but I'm pretty sure hesaid maybe week one, week two.
Speaker 4 (49:40):
I don't know.
I don't know if he said day one.
Speaker 6 (49:42):
Are you upset about
it that Lamar didn't get it?
Speaker 4 (49:45):
No, I picked Josh, so
I'm happy At the end he came on
board.
I picked Josh by mid-year.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah, he's just like
the crew man.
He's a bandwagoner, that'sright.
That's right, Aaron.
Johnny, well, hey man we loveyou, man, we'll see you back on
with whole shots later.
Yeah, man, you're welcomeanytime, my man.
Speaker 6 (50:07):
Be on the lookout for
that.
I'm coming back.
I'm coming back with avengeance.
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
That's right, let's
go, baby.
All right, appreciate you, man,you too, man, all right, all
right.
Well, y'all, are you ready totalk about the Super Bowl?
All right, all right, let's getinto the Super Bowl.
It is the Super Bowl there'stomorrow, yeah, I forgot.
So, chris, why don't you comejoin us, man?
(50:33):
Let's get into the Super Bowl, let's go.
All right, chris, why don't youcome join us, man, let's, let's
get into the super bowl, let'sgo.
All right, chris.
So all right, we're gonna talka little eagles, we're gonna
talk a little chiefs, and thenwe're gonna bring brianna on and
give our official picks andwe'll see if somebody's gonna
take a pure green shot.
All right, so diego manon, withthe Giants letting Saquon go
(51:00):
was that one of the biggest?
Speaker 4 (51:02):
free agency blunders
ever.
I think it might be the biggestfree agency blunder ever, not
just because the Giants wouldhave been better if they had
Saquon Also, they let him walkto the Eagles, and the Eagles
were the last team that neededto get Saquon in their division,
and then now they're in theSuper, super Bowl to have a
chance to win one with him.
So I think that's the biggest,biggest blunder.
(51:23):
What, what about?
Speaker 2 (51:24):
you.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
Chris.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
I think it's actually
a tie for first.
One of the worst an even morequestionable decision was
Le'Veon Bell sitting out waitingand then getting signed by the
Jets and doing next to nothingwith that team.
And again after again, afterthe year, le'veon Bell had
everybody saying, oh, this isthe best running back in
football and all the crazy stuffhe was doing, all the crazy
performances.
He sits out, goes to the Jetsand then you slowly see him
(51:49):
fading out of the league andthat was really crazy to see in
real time.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
That's great.
We're going to have to talk toChuck Global about Le'Veon Bell.
We're going to talk to himabout that.
We'll get his take on that, allright.
Well, eagles Diego, what do theEagles have to do?
Speaker 4 (52:04):
to win the Super Bowl
.
The Eagles have to run the ballconsistently to make sure they
win this game.
If Jalen Hurts throws it morethan 30 times, he's going to
throw a pick or two and thatwill cost them the game.
So I think Saquon needs to rushthe ball at least 30 times, at
least 25, to get him the win.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
I think it's just
being key on third down and not
starting off slow, because theEagles routinely during this
whole season it's been a slowstart and then they turn it on.
You can't do that versus KansasCity.
You have to get up on them realquick because again, Chiefs
sometimes have to get up on themreal quick because again,
sometimes they become bad kids.
So you've got to make sure thatyou bury them quickly or else
you get Mahomes life and itcould be curtains.
(52:43):
So I definitely think that'sthe most interesting thing.
What do they do on third down?
And also, how does Saquon breakoff a big one in a key moment
of the game?
Speaker 2 (52:53):
so you know, for me,
I think, the key is going to be
the punch.
The punch.
The philadelphia eagles haveperfected punching the ball out.
They've done that every singlegame.
They've done it all season long.
They've won the turnover battlein the playoffs.
They've done it and I thinkthat can be the key for the
super bowl.
Watch for the punch, watch forthem to get one or two turnovers
(53:15):
from simply punching the ballOut of Pacheco or any of the
other guys' hands.
Hey, they might even punch itout of Mahomes' hands.
Speaker 4 (53:22):
Oh no, they're not
punching it out, of Mahomes, no.
Speaker 3 (53:24):
We hope, so, we can
only hope, we can only hope.
Speaker 2 (53:28):
I think that's going
to be a key.
All right, so for the KansasCity Chiefs, diego Andy Reid, is
he already the GOAT?
Speaker 4 (53:36):
I think he's probably
tied with Bill right now, but a
win, this win, would make himthe GOAT, I think, okay if he
wins this Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
Andy Reid is the GOAT
.
Okay, what about you, chris?
Speaker 3 (53:51):
I think that Andy
Reid, just his offensive line
you saw as soon as he got in thehomes that's when the
championship started, but itsounded like he didn't have
quality teams before then, likeas soon as he got Mahomes that's
when the championship started, but it sounded like he didn't
have quality teams before then, like with the early years with
the Eagles.
I really think that Andy Reid, with this one, could cement
himself as one of the greatestcoaches ever.
I mean, bill obviously is goingto be up there, don Shuluk as
(54:12):
well but I really think thatBill Belichick and Andy Reid
have an argument for being thegreatest coach of all time, just
because of how he's alsochanged throughout the years
just to fit the offense, to kindof fit Mahomes' strengths.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
Okay, alright, yeah,
I definitely think with a Super
Bowl win, although I don't thinkhe's going to win it, but with
a win I think he woulddefinitely be the GOAT.
In my opinion, he's been on thetear man, he's really turned it
up and whenever he has time toprepare, coming off a bye week,
his record is impeccable, andthat's what makes him so scary
(54:46):
with the Super Bowl is by himhaving that extra week to
prepare.
So, speaking of that, diego, what do the Chiefs have to do in
order to get the firstthree-peat in NFL history?
Speaker 4 (54:57):
The Chiefs have to do
in order to get the first
three-peat in NFL history.
The Chiefs just got to stick towhat they do.
They need their defense to playtop 10, top five, like it's
been all year, and they justneed Mahomes and Kelsey to be.
Mahomes and Kelsey Need them toplay Super Bowl football and do
what they do.
Okay, what about you?
Speaker 2 (55:11):
Chris.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
I mean, they just
have to keep being the team that
makes the two or three plays, that always manages to win them
the game.
And even though this season hasbeen a little crazy with some
of the calls from the refs, inany close game there's two or
three plays that the Chiefsalways seem to come out on top
on.
So I definitely think thatthat's going to be what makes
them win this game.
If they can win this game,we'll see, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (55:33):
Okay, all right.
All right, we're going to seewhat happens there.
Well, man, you ready to makethe picks?
I'm ready, all right.
All right, brianna, why don'tyou come on and join us and
let's actually make our picks?
Come on, let's do this.
Let's actually make our picksfor the Super Bowl.
A lot is on the line, boy.
(55:53):
Let's see where we, where we gowith this.
Uh, what order?
Uh, hmm, brianna, why don't yougo ahead and start us off?
Speaker 5 (56:03):
okay, I feel like
this really isn't a surprise
because of my chief hate, so I'mdefinitely picking the eagles.
They have a lot riding for themright now all right,
philadelphia eagles.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
Okay, all right.
I tell well, you already seewhat I have on, so I'm going to
go ahead and go with thePhiladelphia Eagles.
I'm going to go with the Eaglesby four.
I'm going to go with the Eaglesby four, all right.
So, man, I think we already seewhere Diego is, but we're going
to have him make his officialpick.
(56:35):
There's no way we can be on theisland with the Super Bowl.
Chris, we see you wearing thered.
So we know you got the Chiefs.
Why don't you go on and tell uswho you got, man?
Speaker 3 (56:44):
I actually have the
Philadelphia Eagles and it's the
island brother, because I justneed listen.
Saquon Barkley has routinelybeen the best player in the NFL
this season.
I think he's going to have agreat performance.
I think Jalen Hurts is going tomake the key third downs that
he needs to.
The Eagles defense is going tocome up with some stops and the
Philadelphia Eagles are going tostop yet another three-peat.
(57:06):
So we're going to see.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
Oh man, all right.
Well, hey, wow, wow.
So I have the Eagles, bree hasthe Eagles, bree has the Eagles,
chris has the Eagles.
Now Diego is I got the Chiefs?
Well, hold on, hold, on.
Okay.
So, diego, you've been 3-0 inSuper Bowls.
Yep, all right, okay.
So we're not going to say myrecord.
(57:28):
I've had a pretty good recordthrough my life All right, but
you know, if we're going to goby the last three years.
You know I've stumbled a littlebit, that's okay.
But this particular year we'regoing to get it back.
But all right, man, you knowwhat happens when you're on the
island.
You got to take the pure greenshot, so we got the blue bionic
shot.
Hey, can we get a chat?
(57:48):
Let's go.
All right, man, here we go.
Man, you got to take the shot.
Man, I appreciate that.
Here we go.
Yeah, get that out.
All right, knocked it down, man.
Okay, well, we're going to see.
(58:13):
You're going to stick to puregreen shots, right, that's what
you're going to stick to.
All right, we're going to seeAny other comments on the Super
Bowl, chris.
Speaker 3 (58:19):
Yeah, I really think
that it's going to be a great
game.
You know the Chiefs-Eagles it'sgoing to come down to the wire,
hopefully a big Saquon run.
You know, I think that couldice the game.
So I definitely hope that thathappens.
And yeah, shout out to Phillyman.
I hope they win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (58:35):
You got points, Bree.
How many?
How many do the Eagles win by?
Speaker 3 (58:39):
I would say by three.
Speaker 2 (58:41):
Three.
Okay, you say three, I say four.
What about you, bree?
How many points do they win byI?
Speaker 5 (58:45):
think they're going
to win by a field goal.
Speaker 2 (58:47):
A field goal Okay.
Speaker 5 (58:53):
Yeah, they need to
score higher.
Get those touchdowns in orderto beat the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
Yeah, yeah, okay,
okay.
So, Diego, how many do theChiefs win by?
I say they're going to win byabout seven Seven.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
Wow, Come on man.
Speaker 4 (59:06):
Unless it's overtime.
If it's overtime, it's going tobe six, because they're going
to get the game-winningtouchdown.
Oh, okay, oh, if.
Speaker 2 (59:15):
That's just in case,
back up, all right.
Okay, so here we go.
Question for although we've gotthe Eagles, so, diego, are the
refs going to play a part inthis game?
Speaker 4 (59:25):
I think the refs
could play a little part in it,
and that's the reason why I'mpicking the Chiefs, because
everybody hates it.
But I'm going to make a smartpick here and I'm like the smart
pick here and it's like a teamthat got the rest on your side,
like how are you going to beable to lose All?
Speaker 2 (59:38):
right, okay, love it,
love it All right, all right,
y'all.
Speaker 1 (59:45):
Put your hands
together for our Pick'em Pros
panel.
Y'all.
Speaker 2 (59:48):
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
So, brianna, thank you forcoming all the way down.
You still have a little morework to do as we'll have
questions, I'm sure, for tavarisand chuck global, but thank you
for making.
The trips been a pleasure thankyou for having me the last few
days.
Yes and chris, thank you foryour expert analysis, man.
Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
We appreciate
everything for you as well
having me thank y'all so much.
Thank you all right.
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
Okay, all right,
we're gonna take a 30 second
break and when we come backwe're gonna have tavaris jordan
in the building, all right?
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
All right, all right.
Everyone stand over there, allright, all right.
Ladies and gentlemen, man we'regoing to give a, chris is our.
Chris has this podcast, generational Debates, and it's
one of our musical experts here,so I know Chris is super
excited to have Mr TavaresJordan Also.
Chris man, why don't you do thehonors and welcome Tavares
(01:01:24):
Jordan?
Oh man.
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
Welcome to the show.
Tavares Jordan on man.
Welcome into the show.
Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
Tavares, jordan.
Yes, yes, man.
Now we should be playing Heartof a Woman on, but you two might
not like that.
It's all good man, we don'twant to have to call in any
favors.
Speaker 10 (01:01:45):
It's all good.
I appreciate y'all having meman.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
Yeah, man, it is
great having you here.
Man.
So Diego, why don't you go onand kick us off with Tavares?
Speaker 4 (01:01:54):
How did you get into
music?
Speaker 10 (01:01:56):
Man, how did I get
into music?
So I've been playing the drumsmy whole life, man.
Since I was about five, sixyears old, I started playing the
drums in church.
I was six years old.
I started playing the drums inchurch.
That's my foundation.
Started making beats when I wasin high school, around 2007,
2008, something like that andI've been at it ever since.
Man, I love it, love it Allright.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
What albums did you
grow up listening to, that
inspired?
You?
Speaker 10 (01:02:21):
Oh man, who did I
grow up listening to?
That inspired me?
I definitely say Jermaine Dupri, one of my early inspirations.
Also Jodeci Donnell Jones.
Just like a lot of 90s R&B,that's kind of my background.
What made me fall in love withmusic other than gospel music.
(01:02:44):
But yeah, man, all the catsfrom the from the 90s that was
killing it on the r&b tip man, yep, yeah yeah, man, no man, you
definitely have you know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
So you had that old
soul man.
So I love how you go back tothe 90s and whatnot.
Even have a series of you know90s there.
But uh, man, you are from northcarolina, you know,
representing fayetteville in thebuilding.
So, uh, man, tell us about, uh,about just how North Carolina
has impacted your production.
Speaker 10 (01:03:11):
Man.
So I'm actually fromJohnsonville.
Oh, johnsonville.
Okay, I don't want nobody fromback home to see this and get
mad at me.
Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
Yes, yes, please
correct that.
Speaker 10 (01:03:20):
Which is about 15,
20 minutes from Fayetteville,
Okay, but man, North Carolina.
So again, you know I grew upplaying in church, so gospel
music, that was my, that was myearly foundation, Just growing
up on the gospel circuit, me anddifferent drummers and
keyboardists and people playingpiano, guitars and stuff like
that.
So that that was my earlyinfluence as far as North
(01:03:42):
Carolina music.
But also cats like knife wonder, that's one of my favorite
producers.
He's from the Raleigh area, yeah, man.
Or even somebody like Ski Beatsthat worked on Jay-Z's first
album.
Yeah, man.
We are definitely a state thathas a rich music culture outside
(01:04:03):
of gospel music, but in thesecular music as well.
Yeah, love that.
Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
Who would you say
your dream artist is to collab
with A dream artist?
Speaker 10 (01:04:12):
Man, that's a good
question.
Man, I'd probably say ChrisBrown.
Chris Brown, that's definitelyone of the artists that I want
to work with.
And who else, man?
That was a real good question.
Definitely, chris, and I'llprobably say somebody like Coco
Jones.
That's somebody I like as well.
She's super tough.
Yeah, oh, that'd be nice.
Speaker 3 (01:04:35):
All right.
So I wanted to ask yourpersonal ranking of your top
five producers of all time.
Speaker 10 (01:04:41):
Top producers of all
time.
Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
Yeah, top producers
of all time it doesn't have to
be like a one through five, butjust like your favorite Okay, I
got you.
Speaker 10 (01:04:49):
Devontae Swing,
that's definitely my number one
from Jodeci Jermaine Dupri, definitely got to put him up
there as well.
Dj Quick Okay, dj Quick, that'sdefinitely one of my favorites.
And then, last but not least, manny Fresh man.
Those are my top producers, forsure.
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
Yeah, that's good,
let's see you next.
You, oh, my bad man.
So, man, Heart of a Woman wasjust a huge, huge smash.
Give it up, Give it up.
Thank you.
I was so proud and you know, byme knowing you for a few years,
you know I'm familiar with yoursound, I bought all your
instrumental albums andeverything and you know huge,
(01:05:32):
huge fan of you, man, and when Iheard Heart of a Woman I knew
it was you.
You know what I mean.
It's better if I called you.
Speaker 10 (01:05:48):
And I was like yo,
this got to be.
Tell me, this is you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh, man, sopart of a woman, right, that was
.
That was definitely a blessingman.
Um, I've been making music forso long and to finally get a
record on the mainstream side ofmusic, that was a hit record,
you know, out the gate.
Yeah, I mean, it was just ablessing man.
Um, it's still surreal to melike every day I'd be waking up
like man.
I, you know, I can't believe Igot a song on the radio right
(01:06:09):
now.
That's, you know, one of thesongs that women love too.
You know, cause, r and B,that's, that's my, that's what
my heart is, so absolutely.
To have one of those records, man, it's, it's it definitely
mean everything.
Did you know when you made it,did you think it would do that?
(01:06:31):
Or you know, I knew that thebeat was special.
I knew that definitely.
I remember making it.
I was like man, this is righthere, crazy.
But did I know somebody likeSummer Walker would find it and
sing on it?
Absolutely not, I had no idea, man.
You know we here now.
Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
Yeah, we here now.
I love it, I love it.
Yes, you know, we here now.
Yeah, we hear that.
Oh, I love it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):

Of course,
Pittsburgh.
You guys know Wiz Khalifa, MacMiller.
There's a couple legends fromour city.
Right now there's definitely agrowing music scene that's going
on that I'm a part of, and meand my collective.
I make music with a coupleother guys Another one he's
(01:12:26):
actually in the crowd tonight.
Go by Raheem.

This question of top fiverappers All right, yeah, yeah,
we, we got to hit you with that, but you know what?
We're not going to put you onthe spot of an order.
Speaker 3 (01:12:59):
Okay.
Speaker 12 (01:12:59):
You know, what I'm
saying.
Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
So we'll just let you
name them.
You don't have to go onethrough five, but who's your top
five?
Speaker 12 (01:13:03):
rappers Top five.
My top five, no specific orderJay, jay, jay-z I'm going to
throw Drake in there.
I grew up when Drake wasstarting his career.
Yeah, so, like you know, drakedid 20 years of just putting out
(01:13:27):
solid hits in the musicindustry.
So the kids who are 16, 15, whoare discovering his music I
discovered his music when he wasat the beginning of his career,
even though we're watching himalmost at the end of his career
Hope not, but you know what I'msaying um, but yeah, drake, uh,
(01:13:50):
who else I could say?
I grew up listening to ll cooljay, so, um, he was one of the.
He's one of the lyricists thatmy father, my father, he's, he's
big in my my, he's big in mylife.
So, uh, I remember being a kid, being being on car rides
listening to L Cool J, and onething about him is he doesn't
really use profanity in hismusic.
So you know, that's big andthat speaks to if any artists
(01:14:14):
out there listening to this.
If you're an artist, if you canarticulate yourself without
using any profanity and stillget your point across and it's
hard you're doing something.
So, like you know, that's whyhe's definitely one of my top
five.
Of course Biggie.
Of course Biggie.
(01:14:35):
I'm an East Coast.
I grew up on the East Coast.
Of course I'm from Pittsburgh, but I originally grew up around
the Philadelphia area.
So I grew up listening to realhip hop, real hip hop, lyricism
and stuff like that.
And to close it out wow, let'sclose it out, man.
(01:15:00):
This is tough for me.
I'll say Gucci, man, this isabout to be complete.
The reason why the reason why isbecause he's one of my favorite
trap rappers, just because ofthe genre.
It's either you're a Gucci manor a young Jeezy listener, and I
(01:15:21):
was a Gucci man listener, sothat's just for me.
He's a legend.
He's a legend in the book.
He opened so many doors for,for artists that your favorite
artist today, from your youngthugs to your nicki minaj, is to
everybody.
You know if you just do yourresearch.
He, he's a door opener.
Speaker 2 (01:15:37):
So that's my top five
love that, love that, all right
, all right you got diego.
Speaker 4 (01:15:42):
What's your favorite
song?
You've made over your career,man.
Speaker 12 (01:15:50):
Pick them pros of
course I don't know what else to
say.
It was pick them pros.
You know Diego be having thepick of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:15:59):

Man, you smashed that man.
Speaker 12 (01:16:08):
Once again, I
appreciate y'all.
You guys are doing an awesomething here.
I just love to be a part of it.
Speaker 4 (01:16:16):
Thank you.
What's your dream artist tocollab with?
Speaker 12 (01:16:21):
A dream artist to
collab with.
Fortunately he's passed awayMichael Jackson, of course.
If I could, who wouldn't wantan MJ feature us to collab with?
Fortunately he's passed away.
Michael jackson.
Of course, you know I'm a if Icould, if I could, who wouldn't
want mike mj feature, but um,alive right now?
If I could, of course, it wouldbe hove jay-z.
You know, I think every, especially my age and stuff,
(01:16:44):
every rapper or anybody whoreally aspires to make music at
a high level, respects his craftand what he's done in the game
and I definitely think theywould want to work with him.
Not everybody, but people whowho came, came up the way I came
up.
I think they would yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
Well, man, talk to us
about working with Tavares
Jordan.
Speaker 12 (01:17:09):
Man, man T uh, I met
.
I met this man what 2019, 2020?
I met him, yeah, around likepre-pandemic.
So we were on tour.
Um, there was a, there was a.
There was a mutual artist thatwe were friends with at the time
.
He introduced me to Tavares.
Tavares gave me a shot, he sentme a pack of beats.
(01:17:32):
We've just been locked in Fromthat part from 2020 to 2025, me
and Tavares, we've just beenlocked in just trying to push
each other farther and fartherto get to that next level.
So, you know, to watch hissuccess is definitely, um, it's
(01:17:53):
definitely a motivational thingfor me because you know I've
been doing the music just aslong as he has, but we just
finally met each other, so it'scool yeah, love that man.
Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
So, man, what's on
the horizon, man?
Speaker 12 (01:18:08):
oh man, one thing I
can tell you is just stay tuned

There's so many opportunitiesthat I know they're just on the
rise that I can't even reallyspeak of.

On the 22nd I'll be in Detroit,uh, where we I mean the
(01:18:32):
knuckleheads we're performing.
My boy he'm in the crowd rightthere he'll be there performing
got a show out there in Detroit,so we'll be out there support.
And then at the end of themonth this month, we'll be in
Chicago performing again.
So, like, um, that's what welike to do.
We try to get on, try to travelacross the nation and, just,
(01:18:52):
you know, spread the sound.
Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
So yeah, love that,
love that.
Well, uh, man, you know wecan't uh let you go without
getting your super bowl pick man, we know you're gonna be
watching, we know you got what?

together.
Yeah, we're gonna get ittogether, guys.
I know Steeler countrieseverywhere, so all I gotta say
is Steeler Nation and they startacting crazy.
But it's not about the Steelerstoday, so it's about the Chiefs
and the Eagles.
But I feel like once we getJustin Fields, we need to get
him on the field because he'sjust young, he's young legs.
(01:20:22):
You know, he did the whole yearsitting behind Russ to gain
that, to gain that, trying tofind the correct word I'm
looking for.
He did what he needed to do andI think the Steelers needed to
give him an opportunity to showthat he can take us to the next
(01:20:43):
level.
That's really what we'remissing.
We have a line no, it's not thesame line when Ben was there,
because that was a veteran linebut we have young, big guys that
you know, I think, can reallydo the job.
