Recorded 01/05/2025:
Pastor Larry Stephens begins a new sermon series through the book of Joshua. Listen in as he gives an overview of the Torah leading up to Joshua.
Some key themes to remember is:
• The faithfulness of God in fulfilling covenant promises • The conquest and distribution of the land • The importance of obedience
The Purpose: “The purpose of the book of Joshua is summarized nicely in Joshua 21:43–45: “So the LORD gave Israel all the land, … and they took possession of it and settled there. The LORD gave them rest on every side The LORD handed all their enemies over to them. Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; everyone was fulfilled.” The book shows how God kept his covenant promise to give the land to Israel.” We are reminded of these promises through the person and work of Jesus. 1Co 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
