Big energy shifts collide this week, and we’re feeling the heat. Mars charges into Sagittarius and flips the switch on long-range vision: think five-year goals, big creative arcs, and the kind of aim that pulls you out of small thinking. We talk about naming the target out loud, using conversation as a catalyst, and letting momentum matter more than perfect steps. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to pitch, draft, or announce, this is your window.

That fire meets electricity as Mars immediately opposes Uranus in Gemini. The vibe is tension with purpose, like a bowstring drawn tight before release. Uranus pushes us to break stale rules, speak the authentic dream, and meet the connections that expand reach. Mercury in Sagittarius adds brains and voice to the flame, especially for writers, educators, speakers, and creators. Yes, Mercury turns retrograde on the 10th, but that’s a revision phase, not a red light. Start bold, gather feedback, refine with intent.

Then we pivot to the heart. Venus leaves Libra’s ease for Scorpio’s depth—and squares Pluto in Aquarius. Shallow ties wobble; real bonds get tested and can grow stronger. We explore power dynamics, boundaries, and what it means to invest in relationships that match your future. Some endings will clear space for what truly belongs in your five-year plan. We also look ahead to Mercury retrograding into Scorpio around the 19th and a New Moon in Scorpio, opening paths for reconciliation, reinvention, and fresh starts.

If you’re ready to aim higher and insist on depth, this week gives you both the courage and the clarity. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs a nudge, and leave a review to help more people find the show. What are you aiming for next?

Hi everyone! Welcome to the weekof November 2nd through November
8th, and we've got a lot goingon because we've got the
celestial lovers, Mars andVenus, both changing signs this

(00:26):
week.
Lots of movement, lots of energychange, and I think it's gonna
be really exciting.
Um, I did want to take a minuteand thank all of you for being
here.
I'm just so grateful always foryou taking the time to be part
of this thing that I do, and Ihope you find value in it.

(00:49):
And I also wanted to thank somany of you for reaching out and
expressing condolences about melosing my beloved, beloved dog
seeker.
You touched my heart, and I amtruly, truly grateful.
I also wanted to announce that Iwill be traveling for some days,

(01:14):
and so there will not be anepisode nor a Substack next
week.
And um, sorry about that, and Iwill get back on it as soon as
I'm back, but I did want to giveyou that heads up.
So now let's get into thisplanetary movement.
On November 4th, we've got Marsmoving into Sagittarius.

(01:37):
This is quite a big deal.
We are going to get fired up andpassionate about long-term
goals, big visions, the bigpicture kind of stuff.
You guys, this is the month toreally look out ahead.
You know those exercises thatpeople do sometimes when they're

(01:59):
trying to help you get motivatedand focused?
They're like, where do you wantto be in six months?
Where do you want to be in ayear, five years, ten years?
This is truly the time to dothat.
Get those journals out, or whatare those things called?
Those mood board things that youmanifest with, right?
Get those things out and lookbig picture.

(02:20):
Where do you want to be in sixmonths, a year, five years,
right?
Um, the sky's the limit on thisone.
Look out as far as you want tolook out.
Do you want to have three bookswritten?
Do you want to, and I'll talk toyou writers about why you're
especially included here.
Do you want to be married andhave two kids?

(02:40):
What do you want to do?
Do you want to be um, do youwant to own your own company?
This is that time, right?
Look out there and really getclear on what what do you want
to be when you're a grown-up,right?
No matter, trust me, I'm really, really old and I'm still asking

(03:01):
that question.
Um, but what do you want to bedown the road?
Where do you want to be?
With whom do you want to be?
All right, it's a really goodtime for that.
Um, and you'll be passionateabout it, you'll feel it.
And that's the other thing Iwould say.
Mars is not about, you know, let's think this through with
our financial planners.

(03:22):
No, Mars says take yourfinancial planner and stuff it.
This is not really the time forthat.
Although we're getting there.
We're getting there.
I'll talk to you about that in asecond now that I look at, now
that I look at the planets.
But Mars is the fire.
It's not all the nuts and bolts.
We're not in Virgo, right?
We're not talking about all thenuts and bolts.

(03:46):
First, I'll do this, then I'lldo that.
In fact, Saj is not good atthat.
Sag is not really wanting totalk the details.
And Mars is passion, right?
He's not wanting to thinkthrough all of that stuff.
He's wanting to put the energybehind it.
And let me tell you, you want tomanifest, you want to cast your
spells, you want to do yourpagan rituals, you want to have

(04:09):
really powerful prayers towhatever you pray to, you do
you.
Mars is the fire, and the fireis what manifests.
If you don't have the passion, you're gonna get wimpy little
outcomes.
This is that passion, andSagittarius is the vision.

(04:30):
Okay, so this is a really, really good time.
I love it a lot.
Now, you know there's never onlyone thing going on, right?
It couldn't be so easy.
Although I love all of this, don't get me wrong.
Don't let me scare you aboutthis.
I love all of this.
As soon as Mars crosses into Sajon the fourth, he is exactly and

(04:54):
immediately opposing Uranus.
Uranus is in Gemini.
So the opposition makes ittense, but I don't think it's
the tension of battle.
Now, Uranus is in Gemini, whichhas a lot more to do with little
movement, right?

(05:15):
Gemini is about, let's talkabout it, let's get together,
let's network.
Yeah, bring that energy in forsure.
Absolutely, because we've gotUranus saying, wait a minute,
let's just not sit at home withour vision boards, right?
Uranus over there in Gemini isbringing that Gemini energy and

(05:36):
saying, let's talk to peopleabout it, let's express this
passion, right?
Let's not keep it to ourselvesbecause there might be
connections to be made.
But the bigger energy that Ikind of love about this
opposition is Uranus is therebel.
Uranus is the break the chainsthat bind us.

(05:57):
Think outside of the box.
Sag has that quality, not in therebel way, but in the I'm not
going to be contained.
I've got a big vision tomanifest.
Uranus is saying, let's go evena little wild with that.
Like this big vision.
Let's get a little wack-adoowith it.

(06:19):
Let's let's dare to dream, like, but really dare to dream our
authentic dreams.
You want to be married with twokids and throw in the rest of
it.
What else?
And you want to have a horse andhave a homestead in northern

(06:41):
Washington.
I don't know what it is.
You guys do you, a penthouse inManhattan.
I don't know.
Break out of the box.
Dare to dream big.
Don't let, you know, otherpeople or the the limiting tapes
that you've been fed since youwere, you know, in the womb.
Don't, don't let thoselimitations box you in.

(07:04):
And Mars is passion.
So Mars is like, oh, heck yeah, let's go.
I can get energy for that.
I can put fire behind that.
They're in opposition, whichactually for Mars is kind of a
comfortable thing.
Mars in a different position, Iwould say, is gonna fight
Uranus, but not in thisSagittarian space.

(07:27):
I think the opposition is justadding that tension.
You know how, okay, Sagittariusis the archer.
I don't know if you've ever donethe bow and arrow thing.
You know how when you pull thestring back on the bow and arrow
and it gets really, really taut, and then boom, you let it go,
and that's its power.

(07:47):
That means it's gonna fly far.
That's what I think thisopposition is.
That string being really, reallytaut, and then you let it fly,
and your wild, quirky, wonderful, long-range plans are
like, yeah, we are soaringtoward that target.

(08:07):
I don't know.
Am I too excited?
Maybe I'm already feeling thisenergy, but I don't think I'm
too excited, honestly.
I think this is gonna be fun.
Now, the other thing going onthat I hinted at earlier, but
didn't get into is Mars is onlywhen he crosses over on the
fourth, he's only four degreesaway from Mercury, who's already

(08:29):
in Sag.
Mercury rules Gemini, whereUranus is.
So I think that that's anotherreason I don't think this
opposition is a bad thing.
I think it's gonna be really,really energized.
That's how I think it's gonnaplay out.
So Mercury is what?
Our ideas, our mind, ourcommunication.

(08:51):
So these plans, right?
These are new ideas, these arelong-range plans.
Mercury is gonna help us do thatand make all of that come
together.
You writers out there, or anycontent creators or people who
communicate for a living, writing, speaking, doing

(09:11):
trainings.
Mercury's about education,right?
So all of you people, this istime to really think big.
Set, um, start making your, Idon't know, your work plans for
the year, coming up with new, innovative.
Remember, Uranus, innovativeideas, big new, exciting

(09:35):
projects.
I I love it.
I really love it.
And I think we're gonna get somegreat writing out of this, uh,
great content.
I think good conversations aregonna be had.
That's the other thing.
We've got this Gemini Mercuryenergy involved.
Network, network, network.
I know there are times whenwe're advised, like, oh, you're

(09:59):
making these new plans.
Keep them to yourself for alittle while.
You know, let them percolate.
Don't share them all over theplace yet.
There are some beliefs that youcan like diffuse the energy by
doing that, not this week.
This week, you get out there.
I mean, you know, don't tell theguy standing on the street

(10:19):
corner, maybe, right?
But your friends, your network, your tribe, and look for people
that just cross your path.
I think this is a good time tojust jump on synchronicities and
all of that, you know, just thelook that the universe sends us,

(10:39):
right?
But I do think that talking, sharing, you know, you may share
your plans and somebody's like, yeah, but did you think about
this?
And you're gonna be like, oh mygosh, that was the piece I
needed, right?
I I like it.
I really, really do like it.
Now, here's the other thing.
I just want to give you a headsup that on the 10th, Mercury

(11:01):
goes retrograde.
So we've got this energy for awhile.
Don't like, don't think thatjust because we're gonna be
going back and rethinking andrevising, hey, all great stuff,
whether it's ideas, businessplans, novels, whatever it is,
right?

(11:22):
All great stuff needs to gothrough a refining process, go
through revision, right?
That's that's how we get togoals.
We we get an idea, we talk topeople, we revise some things.
Yeah, we're gonna be goingthrough that.
So I just want to give you thatheads up.
That's gonna happen.
Mercury is basically conjunctMars.

(11:44):
They're within two degrees onNovember 10th.
Now, let me tell you, Mercuryand Mars are now barreling
towards each other.
So that energy that we've had, yes, we are gonna be doing some
revisions, some do-overs, all ofthat kind of stuff.
Now, back to this week.
On November 6th, 6th or 7th,depending on where you are,

(12:09):
Venus leaves home territory andshe's moving into Mars where
she's in detriment.
This is a much less comfy spacefor Venus to be in.
I will be honest with you.
She doesn't love being in Mars'skingdom so much, all right?
Because those are really, she'slike, what the heck do I do

(12:31):
here, right?
The goddess who wants everythingto be smooth and comfortable and
is all about warm relationships.
She's now in fixed waterScorpio, the land of Mars, which
is the opposite of her energy.
And uh yeah, she's not as happy.
So, what would I expect here?

(12:53):
Oh, also, as soon as she crossesover into Scorpio, she's making
a square with Pluto in Aquarius.
What's Pluto?
Power struggles.
Now, normally power strugglesthat lead to deep transformation
and bring about something good, but that doesn't mean it's so

(13:14):
fun in the getting there.
All right.
So I'm giving you a little headsup here.
I'm expecting some breakups.
I'm expecting, I'll explain.
Don't don't start crying andclick off yet, okay?
I but I am.
I'm expecting some breakups.
I'm expecting some relationshipsreally of all different kinds to

(13:36):
maybe end or have to be reallydeeply transformed.
And there's the key right there.
Who's gonna break up?
If you're in a relationship thatdoesn't have weight, that
doesn't have depth.
Scorpio is deep, it is fixedwater, it's you know, as deep as

(13:58):
you can go.
And this is not the depth of theocean, like Pisces, you know,
that we've got movement andcurrent currents.
Think of a frozen over lake orpond.
This is things buried under thatice, really held deeply in
water, it's our emotions.

(14:18):
So if there are anyrelationships that are a little
flimsy, a little surface, andyou're kind of wondering, does
this have a future?
No, I will just tell you rightnow, if it's flimsy, unless it
goes through a deeptransformation that I don't

(14:39):
think, you know, Pluto, right?
That I don't think is gonna beeasy.
It might take some real warriorbattle, and Venus is not in
great shape in Scorpio.
So do I think many people aregonna transform seemingly frothy
relationships into deep ones?

(15:00):
No, I don't think many peopleare gonna make that
transformation.
I'm sorry, I know this is reallyheavy, but I'll get to the
silver lining.
I promise.
Try to stick with me here.
And it's not, I'm not sayingthat everybody's gonna break up.
If there's depth to therelationship, and again, look at

(15:21):
your own natal chart.
What house is Scorpio?
This could be your creativity, this could be, you know, your
literal relationship, it couldbe your relationship with money.
Okay, so it doesn't necessarilymean that everybody's husband,
wife, lover is gonna walk outthe door.
Okay, that's not what I'msaying.

(15:42):
You've got to look at your natalchart.
But like I said, if something isnot either already very deep, or
if it doesn't have the potentialof getting there, it's probably
gonna go away, right?
It's probably run its course andgonna be done.
The good thing about that, remember those long-term goals

(16:06):
that we've been talking aboutthis whole episode?
How many of you now don't speakfrom your emotions?
Really, really, how many of youwant a superficial relationship
as part of your long-term goals?
How many of you are looking outthere into your five-year plan,

(16:28):
going, gosh, I really hope Ihave some lightweight,
superficial whatever in my life?
Really?
None of you, right?
I know that.
I know that.
So that means if that's what'sin your life now, it's gotta go.
And this could be the time whenthat happens.

(16:48):
Yeah, this could be the timewhen that happens.
Now, the other thing that canhappen, and here's the bigger

part of the silver lining (16:56):
those relationships that do remain do
have depth to them.
They will go deeper.
This is the time to really justdeep dive with whatever, whoever
that is, and make it even morereal, right?
Make it even more true, deep, lasting.

(17:20):
The square to Pluto is there.
Look at Aquarius.
Who could you be having problemswith?
Um, that's most likely comingfrom that Aquarius house in your
chart.
This square could also be,depending on where it is, you
know, it could also be somethinglike while you're really deep
diving with, say, a romanticpartner, maybe that's not going

(17:44):
so well with your boss becausethat's not where your head is
right now, right?
So you kind of have to look atwhere that square is landing,
and it might give you a sense ofwhere this power struggle thing
is going on, okay?
Or you may be deep diving withsomebody that your family has
always gone like, really, you'regetting deeper with that person.

(18:08):
We didn't see that coming,right?
I don't know, but there is somepower struggle element, but in
the long run, the relationshipsthat are meant to be, the
relationships that legit couldbe part of that long-term plan,
they'll get deeper and better.
They will get deeper and better.

(18:30):
So it's an interesting week,right?
Some of us are gonna go throughthings that we're really, you
know, not so freaking thrilledabout.
But in the long run, I thinkeven those um events that could
happen this week, I think thatwe're gonna be grateful
eventually.

(18:51):
And also remember, keep this inmind, whatever you're going
through this week, especiallywhere relationships come into
play, on what day is it?
November 19th.
So looking out just a bit here, that Mercury retrograde is going
to go into Scorpio.

(19:11):
So, what does that mean?
Some of this stuff that's goingon with Venus, yeah, there's
gonna be some do-over energy, and that Mercury is in a very
interesting grand trine thatweek, and a very blessed grand
trine that week.
So, could we um have powerstruggles, go through endings or

(19:36):
near endings maybe this week, and then come back and revisit
and uh save the day, save therelationship when we hit uh
November 19th and moving forwardfrom there?
Absolutely, because you knowwhat else is happening right
around that time?
A new moon in Scorpio, so newbeginnings.

(19:57):
All right, so it could be thatwe have this power struggle this
week in some Venus kind ofmatter, right?
Relationships especially, and itlooks like an ending that we
then go back and reallytransform with the Mercury
retrograde.

(20:17):
It could be that when Mercuryretrogrades back in there, we
start something new completely.
All right, so this story is notdone.
I mean, what story is ever done, right?
So don't fret, let it play out, just go with the flow.

(20:39):
But do know that there could besome challenging things in
relationships this week.
I think, I don't know.
I'm optimistic still, I have totell you.
I am I am thinking there couldbe some hard stuff, but
ultimately I think this is gonnaplay out well.
I do.
That may be my crazy optimism, but that's where I'm at.

(21:02):
So I think that's what I've gotfor you this week.
And oh, one thing, one tinywarning that I forgot to throw
in there.
That Mars Uranus thing, expectimpulsivity.
Expect impulsivity.
So if this is in like your moneyhouse or something, be a little
aware of that.

(21:22):
You could go on like animpulsive spending something,
something.
I have to tell you, this ishappening in my eighth house.
That's combined resources wheredebt lives.
Yeah.
I've already, yeah.
Watch out for the impulsivity.
That's all I got to say.

(21:42):
All right.
So I'm looking forward to anexciting big week.
Yeah, I think it's gonna begood.
And if not all of it is goodimmediately, I think it's gonna
end up good.
And yeah, I hope that washelpful.
And again, thank you so much foreverything, really, just for
everything.
And I will be missing next week, and I will definitely miss you,

(22:05):
but I will be back the weekafter.
And until then, you know what todo.
Go out and seize the energies ofthe stars.
This is my wish for you always, and I will see you in a couple
of weeks.
Bye.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
