Fate favors the bold when Mercury teams up with Mars to take the wheel. We break down a rare week where honest words land, doors open, and relationships gain real momentum. With Mercury in Scorpio conjunct Mars, trining Jupiter and the North Node, conversations carry purpose and power—think decisive pitches, boundary-setting with care, and heartfelt confessions that finally clear the air. This isn’t about being loud; it’s about being true, and trusting that the right ears are ready to listen.

The timing is golden. Jupiter exalted in Cancer softens sharp edges and brings tangible support around money, home, and security, making it a strong window for resumes, queries, networking, and proposals. If you’ve been hesitating to ask for the raise, propose the collaboration, or define a partnership, this flow helps you move with courage and compassion. Add the Libra new moon with Venus dignified, and you get a green light for fresh starts in love, creative ventures, and fair agreements—simple intentions paired with one concrete step can go a long way.

We also set you up for sustained success as Mercury’s trine to Saturn in Pisces arrives to add structure without stifling creativity. Expect to confirm timelines, clarify scope, and put commitments on paper as the week closes. Yes, Mercury enters his retrograde shadow, but that’s a nudge to save drafts and embrace edits, not a reason to stall. If you’re ready to speak clearly, act intentionally, and build what lasts, this is your moment. If the episode resonates, subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a quick review—your support helps others find the show.

SPEAKER_00 (00:02):
Hello and welcome to Pisces Moon Astrology.
I'm your astrologer, KateLeonard, and I'm excited to
explore the stars with you.
Hi everyone.
Welcome to the week of October19th through October 25th.
And oh my goodness, I know I sayit all the time, but this is

(00:24):
another really, really big week.
We've got Mercury taking centerstage this week.
I mean, he comes in on the 19thand he is active and doing stuff
really for the rest of themonth, but you know, definitely
throughout this week.
So I don't have to say it.

(00:45):
We all know this.
This is our thinking, ourintellect, our communication.
And remember, it's all forms ofcommunication.
Mercury rules speech, writing, you know, everything we do to
communicate.
When our minds are involved,it's pretty much important to
all people, right?
But it's very, very important toanyone who communicates for a

(01:09):
living.
You've writers out there, content creators, all of that.
Mercury is really your planet.
So again, none of us don'tcommunicate, even if we're
introverted.
You're talking to yourselfinside your head, right?
Um, the other thing that Mercurydoes is he's all about short

(01:30):
distance travel.
So Mercury's not so much about, you know, going off to see the
pyramids or whatever one does, but lots of comings and goings
this week, right?
So get ready for on top ofeverything else, just a really,
really busy week.
Mercury rules Gemini.

(01:50):
Yeah.
So he's got a lot to do withsocial interactions.
So this is a very good week formaking the dinner dates, the
lunch dates, the coffeeget-togethers, you know,
whatever it is.
This is a really lovely week forall of that as well.
And for those of you who arelike, wait, what about Venus

(02:12):
from last week?
I'm all about relationships.
Yeah, you know what, you guys, that is all still going on.
That grand shrine that involvedVenus, Uranus, and Pluto, that
empowered quirky love thing, that trine is still there.
It's not as strong as Venus issort of moving out of those

(02:34):
relationships, those exacttrines, but it's still going on.
So for those of you who areplaying out love stories,
friendship stories, familystories, whatever from last
week, some of this communicationand, you know, socializing and
all of that, that may have to dowith those relationships because

(02:56):
that stuff's still happening.
And this week we just addanother grand trine because
we're gonna focus mostly thisweek on Mercury making a trine
to Jupiter, making a trine tothe north node of destiny.
And you know, when the northnode is involved, this is stuff

(03:18):
that is big, big, big.
So let's get into it.
Now, before I do, is thereanything else going on that you
need to know about this week?
We've got Neptune stillretrograde.
He's going to join Saturn inPisces.
That's going to be to finish upthat story.

(03:40):
We're still looking at ourboundaries, what needs to be
rebuilt.
Um, the other thing thathappens, we've got the sun
moving into Scorpio.
Both of those things happen onthe 22nd.
Oh, and because I don't focus onlunation so much, I almost
overlook the fact that on the21st, we have got a new moon in

(04:03):
Libra.
How could I overlook that one?
I know you guys would choke meout on that, wouldn't you?
Um all you people who are kindof relationship focused right
now because we've been goingthrough all that Venus stuff.
This is your new moon.
This is a new moon with Venus inLibra.
This is new beginnings, newlove.

(04:25):
Wow.
I know you're saying now, I hearyou.
I can hear a couple of myclients and friends right now
going, we've got a new moon inLibra, and you're not focusing
the episode on that.
Are you out of your mind?
I can hear you guys.
You're right in a way.
Given that we've still got thatVenus love story going on, it's

(04:48):
a big new moon.
So all of that love stuff that'sbeen coming up, and again, this
relationships of any kind,right?
I joke because I've got a lot ofpeople who are relationship
focused right now in my life.
But Libra is the sign ofrelationships.
Venus is there just coming outof that big grand shrine.

(05:09):
And now we've got newbeginnings.
So, you guys who are stressing,I promise you all, it's gonna
happen.
And it could be, now, obviouslynot for everyone, but it could
be this week with this new moon.
So, if nothing else, set yourintentions, right?
I tell you guys sometimes, um,skip this moon, right?

(05:32):
Don't do your intentions thistime because they'll go wonky.
This is one, grab it, set theintentions.
This is beautiful.
And if you're not looking forlove kind of thing, you artist,
all the Venus things set thoseintentions, all right?
So it's a great week, you know.

(05:52):
I mean, now I always get thepeople who contact me and go, I
had a crappy week, Kate.
Yes, look at your natal chart.
If you've got problematicplanets talking to these things
that I'm gonna be talking about, yeah, yours could skew a
different way, but in general,it's a great week, it's great

(06:15):
energy, and I know I've beenrambling way too much.
Let's get into Mercury.
So on the 19th, we have twothings happening.
Mercury is in deep, emotional, powerful, sexy Scorpio.
On the 19th, he's making a trineto the north node of destiny,

(06:38):
and he's made here, this isreally important, he's making an
exact conjunction with Mars.
That means they are sitting ineach other's laps, and they are
both making this trine todestiny.
So, first off, straight out ofthe gate, what's happening this

(06:59):
week?
Whatever it is is faded, it'sdestined.
This has to do with your karma.
Mercury, communication, Mars,assertiveness.
This is almost the cliche aspectof speak your mind.
No nonsense, no BS.
Stuff needs to be said, andyou're gonna say it.

(07:22):
Now, the interesting thing, Iand I hear you when Mars is
involved, might you be screamingit in somebody's face?
You might.
You actually might.
So take heed here.
But it's a trying.
So I don't think that thisenergy is gonna be so much like
blowing up at somebody.

(07:43):
And that kind of thing is notusually so faded, north nodey
anyway, right?
I mean, it's true.
Sometimes we have to explode, but more often than not, when we
get this kind of thing, it'sreally just being assertive.
It's like saying what you mean, meaning what you say, delivering
the message directly.

(08:04):
Mars is not gonna be fluffy, right?
It's not gonna be fluffy, it'snot gonna beat around the bush.
It's like, I got something tosay and I'm gonna say it.
What could this be about?
In Scorpio, kind of anything.
I mean, that's not so topicspecific, but it is deep.
It is deep.

(08:24):
And Scorpio is fixed water.
I call Scorpio the ice princess.
It's like the lake, you know, those frozen over lakes that
underneath the fish are stillswimming around.
But if you want to talk to them, because I'm vegan, we don't fish
them.
If you want to talk to them, you've got to chip through the

(08:44):
ice first to get to wherethey're still happily living
their lives.
That's how all things Scorpiowork.
So, what this is saying to me iswe've had some stuff buried
under that ice layer.
Mars is hot and fiery.
He's a warrior, he's gotweapons.
He'll chop through that ice,right?

(09:06):
And so, some buried stuff, somehidden emotions, some um words
that have needed to be said, butwe've been repressing them or
whatever.
Yeah, that's over.
That's over.
We are going to have thecourage, Mars is courage.
We're gonna have the courage tospeak our minds, Mercury, right?

(09:29):
We're gonna have the courage tosay what we feel, what we've had
buried deep inside of us, all ofthat stuff.
We are going to say it becausefate says we have to.
We need to.
These words need to be spoken.
Now, consider this also.
When fate is involved, we needto say what we need to say, but

(09:52):
keep in mind that the otherperson needs to hear it.
There's a reason.
You know, Mercury's probably notfor most of us just shouting
into the void, right?
So keep that in mind.
But I don't think you're gonnaneed to bolster yourself up.
Mars is gonna be like, yeah, hey, dude, got to tell you a
thing, right?
Whether dude is your boss, yourlover, your mother, whoever dude

(10:15):
is, dude's gotta hear a thing,okay?
North Note is in Pisces.
So this may have to do with youwant to communicate to somebody
how deep your feelings are aboutthem.
That works with Scorpio, deep, and Pisces, you know, the ocean.
So there's gonna be depth tothis, but this is really good.

(10:36):
It's a trine, it's meant to be.
This is gonna be reallyliberating.
Think of Mars words, right?
This is gonna be reallyliberating to have this
conversation or whatever it is.
So that first leg of the trineis really a speak your mind kind
of thing.
Then the other leg of thetriangle, the next trine, is

(11:01):
Mercury to Jupiter.
Jupiter is still exalted inCancer, so he's very powerful.
He's the luckiest, most blessedplanet in the sky.
And he also does expand things, multiply them, make them bigger.
So we're gonna be speaking ourmind, and there are going to be

(11:23):
blessings in doing that.
Jupiter's very strong in cancer.
He's going to give that energyof nurturing.
So, whatever it is we're gonnasay, even though Mars is
involved, this is why I don'tthink most of us are gonna be
having shout-out fights.
Cancer is going to bring thatcare to what we're talking

(11:45):
about.
Jupiter's just going to blessthe conversation, just straight
up.
Yeah, I just kind of love that.
This is also a great energy forall the things like um asking
for raises, making your pitch tosomebody about why they should
hire you.

(12:06):
Um, because cancer has to dowith what takes care of us and
what nurtures us.
So things like our finances, ourhomes, our security, all of that
kind of stuff.
So, yeah, absolutely.
Mercury is all about business.
So, good time to be sending outthe resumes, making the phone

(12:28):
calls, networking.
Oh my gosh, this is a greatenergy for networking.
And with the North Nodeinvolved, you will find the
people that you are meant tofind.
This is brilliant for that.
But like I said, you know, talking to bosses, if you have
uh proposals, query letters, allof that kind of stuff, write

(12:52):
that stuff up and get it out.
Mercury's the messenger.
Get that stuff written anddelivered this week.
This is a good week to actually, you know, press send, get it in
the mail, go drop it off at theoffice, whatever it is you need
to do.
So again, this is everybody.
With cancer involved, this couldeven have to do with um writing

(13:16):
out contracts to buy homes, getnew apartments, those kinds of
things.
It's really good, good, goodenergy, all right.
And then, of course, Jupiter isalso trining the North Node.
So it makes that beautiful grandshrine, unbroken circuit.
We've got expansion and luck andfate and karma, and then that

(13:41):
conjunction of Marsassertiveness with Mercury, our
thoughts, our communication.
So, what can I say?
It is all blessed, it is allflowing, it is all growing, it's
meant to be.
Wow, right now, there's someother stuff coming up.
So it doesn't, it doesn't messup the wow, but it does add some

(14:02):
other factors.
On the 25th, Mercury is going tobe.
Well, really, this is happeningall week, but on the 25th is
when it gets bigger.
Mercury moves into a trine withSaturn, who's in Pisces.
And I know Saturn is the greatermalefic and all of that.

(14:22):
I don't think so.
This is a trine.
Saturn's retrograde.
So this is about redoing somestuff.
And I think what this is reallyabout is adding structure to
whatever's been going on allweek.
So those, especially when we'retalking about deals that we've
been discussing with otherpeople, plans that we've been

(14:45):
discussing, you know, whateverkinds of proposal sort of energy
that Mercury North Node Jupiterthing's been doing.
Saturn at the end of the week isgoing to bring the structure to
it.
So at the end of the week, thisis gonna be the time when we're
more likely to really startfirming things up.

(15:05):
Maybe you've been bouncingaround ideas with a business
partner, a creative partner, apotential employer, you know,
all of that kind of stuff thatyou've been communicating about.
By the end of the week, it'sgonna be time to like, let's
firm it up.
That's what Saturn does.
Let's let's sign the contract, let's put this stuff in motion,

(15:27):
whatever that takes.
So know that Saturn is cominginto the picture.
Saturn will help with the hardwork of it.
Mars is great with initiation, getting things fired up, getting
things started.
Mars is not good at all forfollow-through, but that is
exactly what Saturn does.

(15:48):
So I really love this, right?
So we've got Mars at fire andpassion and beginnings and all
of that.
And then Saturn comes in andit's like, yeah, let's start
hammering those nails intoplace.
I love it.
Now, another thing is going onthis week.
Um, so I'm gonna step us back afew days, and there's a reason I

(16:12):
save this.
It's not bad.
It's not bad, I promise, butit's, you know, a thing.
On the 21st, Mercury.
Remember Mercury?
I told you this whole week isMercury.
Mercury begins his retrogradeshadow.
See why I didn't lead with that?

(16:32):
If I had started with anythingto do with the Mercury
retrograde, everybody would havelike clicked out because it's a
bummer.
This is not a bummer.
We're not even in the Mercuryretrograde yet, but he does
begin his shadow.
So, what does that mean?
He's going directly, he's movingforward over degrees that during

(16:53):
his retrograde, he's gonnarevisit.
So, do know that there is goingto be some adjusting going on.
The stuff that you're thinking, saying, putting in motion, the
contracts you're signing, all ofthat stuff.
You are going to come back, you're gonna revise, rethink,
edit, all of those kinds ofredoing mercury stuff.

(17:18):
I know, right?
We do not want to hear it.
I just made this big deal out ofall of this crazy good stuff
that we're gonna set in motionand all of that.
Now we find out we're gonna comeback and do a redo.
Do a redo?
You get what I'm saying.
And yeah, that's true.
But this stuff is very blessed.
And with the north nodeinvolved, I really do think

(17:42):
we're just talking aboutediting.
I hear you.
When does it actually stationretrograde?
That's going to be on November9th.
I actually love this week quitea lot.
We've still got a lot of Venusenergy going on.
A lot of this communication isgonna have to do with
relationships because it'shappening at the same time as

(18:03):
all this Venus stuff in Libra.
I'm loving it a whole lot.
So I hope you do too.
Sorry I forgot to say this allat the front end, but thank you
so much for being here.
I really appreciate you.
Right now, especially, I wouldbe super grateful if you would
share the podcast and go in andleave some positive reviews and

(18:25):
things like that.
I really need your help.
So until next week, go out andseize the energies of the stars.
This is my wish for you always, and I will catch you on the
other end.
Bye.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
