They receive an additional two to three years of advanced education and training relating specifically to children’s dental care, and, in addition to obtaining a certificate in pediatric dentistry, can be awarded a degree in pediatric dentistry, as in Dr. Baker’s case.
Pediatric dentists are trained to treat infants to late adolescents, and provide comprehensive dental care that includes prevention, growth and development, restorative treatment, emergency dental care, oral pathology, radiology, and special need Dr. Ryan Baker was born and raised in San Diego, California. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He attended dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH) in Mesa, Arizona, where he received both his Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees.
After dental school, Dr. Baker completed a two-year post-doctoral residency at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, to specialize in pediatric dentistry. Upon completion of the program, he was awarded a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry as well as a Master of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry.
