It’s major time again with the best women in the world taking on the daunting Erin Hills layout in Wisconsin for the most prestigious title in the game, the US Women’s Open. Meanwhile, the cream of the PGA TOUR crop – minus Rory McIlroy – celebrate the great Jack Nicklaus at the Memorial while in Austria the DP World Tour hosts the Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand.

Normal programming resumes after Scottie Scheffler’s runaway victory at the PGA. The World No.1 isn’t resting, though, taking his place in the field at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas while the DP World Tour hosts the Soudal Open in Belgium. The LPGA is offshore in Mexico for the MEXICO Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba and the Asian Tour is in Korea for the Kolon Korea Open.

There’s only one show in town this week and it is the second men’s major for the year, the PGA Championship, to be played at the Quail Hollow Golf Club in North Carolina. A regular stop on the PGA TOUR, the course will be familiar to many in the field including Masters champion Rory McIlroy, who has won here four times in his career.

Just one more week till the second men’s major for the year and players are warming up at the Truist Championship in Pennsylvania, the Turkish Airlines Open in Antalya and the International Series Japan in Chiba prefecture. Meanwhile, the LPGA head to New Jersey and the Liberty National course for the Mizuho Americas Open.

The international golf circus rolls on with the PGA TOUR heading to Texas for The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, LIV Golf in Korea, the LPGA heading to Utah and the Asian Tour also in Korea celebrating one of their most prestigious events at the Caltex Maekyung Classic.

Major season is officially underway with the first of the women’s Grand Slam events headlining in Texas at The Chevron Championship this week. Meanwhile, LIV Golf is in Mexico, the PGA TOUR’s teams event is on in Louisiana and the DP World Tour stay in China for the Hainan Classic.

After a week that will take its place among the great Masters in history it’s back to more regular programming this week with the PGA TOUR staying in south for the RBC Heritage, the LPGA in Los Angeles for the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by PlastPro and the DP World Tour in Shanghai for the Volvo China Open.

No surprise there is only one topic of conversation in the golf world this week as the ‘tradition unlike any other’, The Masters, gets underway in Augusta, Georgia. The team looks at the course, field and local chances with five Australians in the field at Augusta National Golf Club.

All eyes are firmly on the first men’s major of the year at Augusta next week, but there is tournament golf to be played first. The PGA TOUR stays in Texas for the Valero Texas Open while the LPGA switches things up with their T Mobile Match Play event at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. It’s a light week of tournaments with The Players Championship taking centre stage in Florida while LIV Golf are in Singapore for their fourth event of the season. Meanwhile closer to home, the WPGA Tour of Australasia and Ladies European Tour co-sanctioned Australian Women’s Classic has been reduced to 54 holes but will go ahead at Coffs Harbour Golf Club on the NSW North Coast.

Sad news from home as the approach of Cyclone Alfred sees the Australian WPGA Championship on the Gold Coast cancelled for safety reasons. Great viewing for Australian fans this week with the Webex Players Series Sydney teeing off at Castle Hill Thursday, while the best women players in the game are at the Honda LPGA Thailand in Pattaya. The DP World Tour heads to Africa for the Magical Kenya Open and the PGA TOUR crosses the southern border for the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld. Meanwhile, the TGL hosts their first multi match day at the SoFi centre in Florida.
The lightest of light weeks for professional tournament play this week with Australia and San Diego sharing centre stage. LIV Golf has found a spiritual home in Adelaide and are set for another big week while the PGA TOUR heads to Torrey Pines for the second time in three weeks for a Genesis Invitational with a difference.
