On April 21st 2020, Podcaster stories was launched. Unlike my other podcasts up until that point, this wouldn't be a solo show - instead, it'd be an interview-style show.

Not only that, but it would be an interview-style show with fellow podcasters, many of whom had interview shows of their own. So, to say I was a little nervous would be an understatement!

But, 12 months on, I'm enjoying it as much as ever, and have some fun ideas regarding the next 12 months and beyond.

Thank you so much for listening so far, and I can't wait to share the next stage of Podcaster Stories with you.

(00:03):
So a funny thing happenedon the way to planning
out Season Four of PodcasterStories, and that was realizing
the show turned one yesterday,April 21st. So in this
quick bonus episode, I justwanted to say, thanks for
being here for the last12 months and have a
look back at the, Iguess the gestation of the
show. I'm not even sureif that's the right word,
but when I started theshow back in April, 2020,

(00:23):
I had an idea ofwhat I wanted to do
with the show and howI wanted it to progress.
This was something brand newthough, as my previous podcast,
with the exception of abusiness one I used to
co-host at the marketing agencyI used to work at,
they'd all been solo affairs. But now I was creating
an interview style show, andone that I really wanted

(00:45):
to get to know allthe guests I had on.
Thing is, these guests wouldalso be fellow podcasters and,
often ones who had herown interview style show as
well. So I was abit nervous as I started
out, but thankfully they allturned out to be great
guests, very gracious with theirtime and the stories that
they shared because as theshow name entails Podcaster Stories

(01:06):
is about sharing these storiesof the podcasters that we
tend to listen to. Andit wasn't just about their
podcasts that I wanted toget to know, although it's
very useful to obviously hearabout their own podcast growth
and how they grow theirshow and their voice with
that. But what I wantedto do was really get

(01:27):
to know who the personbehind the voice, and how
that made them, how thatshaped them to, be the
person they are today.
This includes very personal storiesat times, such as overcoming
child abuse, overcoming sexual abuse, overcoming cancer and mental health
issues, and a lot more. And hearing these stories and

(01:47):
being able to share themwith you, the listener, has
been incredibly inspiring, and reallyhelped me grow as a
person individually over the last12 months. When you think
of some of the thingsthat are, that they have
overcome and with the examplesthey've shared in their episodes,
it really makes you, youknow, look at your own
life and be like, well, was it so bad that
I spilled some milk whenI was getting the kids'

(02:10):
breakfast? No, it wasn't. Yeah.It made a mess of
the kitchen floor, but itwasn't a, an earth shattering
world ending experience.
So it has been incrediblyinteresting and I'm very grateful
to my guests for sharingtheir stories. The show has
also evolved over the last12 months from when it
first started. Initially the episodeswere fairly short at around

(02:32):
a 20, maybe 25 minutemark, but what I was
finding was I wasn't gettingenough time to really talk
with my guests and chatwith them about their story.
So in Season Two ofPodcaster Stories, I flipped the
format a bit. It wasstill an interview style show,
but I flipped to itto be a longer episode.
And episodes ranged from 40minutes to 50 minutes, to

(02:55):
sometimes over an hour, andI'll be honest, when I
made the change, I wasa little bit wary as
to whether people would enjoythe show less, because it
was a longer format.
You're talking about doubling thelength of the episode, but
thankfully the, the listeners andthe feedback I've got since
moving into that format hasbeen universally good. There've been
some people that preferred theprevious version and that's completely

(03:16):
understandable, but for the mostpart, listeners like yourself who
have written to me, ortweeted to me, or, or
whatever, to advise that theyenjoy the new format. So
thank you for that. Movingforward, as I approach Season
Four, I am going tostart experimenting with some of
the format as well. Itwill still be on an
audio show, but there maybe some video options involved

(03:38):
as well, whether that's onYouTube or Facebook or something
like that, or just evenembedded on my website.
We'll see, but I've gotso many ideas that I
want to start messing aboutwith, and that could be
just a bonus content with, with snippets, just for the
video version, or it maybe a livestream, on something
like Streamyard or whatever whenI'm recording the episode, and

(03:58):
we have the guest onwith myself, live streaming the
episode during recording just fora special event now and
again. So it's something I'mthinking about. And I'd love
to hear your feedback asto whether that's something that
would be interesting to listento, or I should say
watching. So let me knowif you can always email
me at any time atDanny at Podcaster Stories dot
com. As I mentioned, theshow's really continued to grow

(04:19):
over the last 12 months, and especially since I made
the format change, and it'sreally enabled me to, to
lock down what I wantto do with the show,
and I know the directionI want to take it
as I move into SeasonFour, Five, Six, et cetera.
And I'm looking forward toyou being part of that.
So thank you so farfor being along for the
ride. I hope you're enjoyingthe show as much as

(04:41):
I do making it. Andif there's any time you
want me to give meany feedback or make a
suggestion as to a guestyou'd like to hear, you
can always reach out tome at Danny at Podcaster
Stories dot com. If youthink that anybody else who
would enjoy the show, justsend them over to Podcaster
Stories dot com forward slashListen, where they can catch
up on some of theepisodes they may have missed,

(05:02):
as well as choose whatpodcast app they prefer to
listen on. Again, I reallyappreciate your support and you
listening to the show, itmakes it all worthwhile. I
mean, it would be worthwhileanyway with my guests and
the stories I get tohear from them.
But knowing you're enjoying itas much really validates it
for me, so thank youfor that. Next week, I'll
be doing a recap ofSeason Three and we'll be

(05:23):
hearing some more snippets fromthe guests that you may
have not heard previously, solook out for that episode
coming down in about aweek's time. Until then I
hope you're well, I hopeyou're keeping safe, and we'll
speak soon.
