This an unserious podcast that covers serious topics. We do this for a variety of reasons. First, we’re friends and we nerd out on this stuff. And it’s easier to laugh about it that let the state of the world drain your energy. Second, we feel like more serious defense news sources aren’t accessible to the broader population, so we try to keep it at a level for anyone. If there are major current events we will likely cover them, but we also dive into history, movies, books, shows, video games, or pop culture. Deep dive episode alert: Hitman looks into the El Salvadoran civil war. War crimes, massacres, assassinations, forced deportations, counter-insurgency warfare. Pretty interesting stuff, wasn't that long ago. So, we should kinda give them props that they're even a little stable these days.
