First up, we have PornHubcontent being denied to Texas

residents due to an ageverification law being upheld
last week. You may not know it,but in 2023, Louisiana residents
couldn't enter PornHub's sitewithout verifying their age
through the Louisiana governmentidentification and age
verification app.
Texas followed suit in August of2023 when their age verification

law went into effect andimpacted PornHub's audience. Now
how is this protecting userprivacy and security? That's
what we wanna know.
Next up, we have some news aboutwood chips. New Zealand company
CarbonScrape can turn wood chipsinto graphite without burning

them.
They use a method calledthermocatalytic graphitization
that makes the wood chips intocharcoal and then the charcoal
becomes a biographite. Verycool. Graphite is needed for
batteries, including batteriesfor electric vehicles. This is a
game changer.

We learned about the welldeserved recognition the Berlin
techno scenes getting from itslatest admirer, UNESCO. The
United Nations Educational,Scientific, and Cultural
Organization has nationalcultural heritage lists, and

Pivoting to TikTok, thebipartisan effort of the House
bill to sell the video sharingplatform or ban it passed on

conversations.
But if it goes like Oracle's2020 attempt to buy TikTok, it
will face CCP legal woes... IfChina doesn't pull the app from
the US outright. The sale ordivestiture of TikTok involves

approval procedures. The Chinesegovernment will make a decision
in accordance with the law. This2023 statement from China's
Commerce Ministry spokespersonShu Jueting, before the TikTok
hearing before Congress.Finally, we wanna talk about the
great work between LiverpoolCity in the UK and the renewable

energy company, Mersey TitlePower.
Liverpool's utility companyclaims it can power 1,000,000
homes with floodwaters from theBay of Liverpool and help the
city attain zero net carbonemission by 2040. I'm keeping an
eye on this one because I loveto see it.

So can I say some more aboutPornHub? PornHub's owner,
MindGeek, has a new persona asAylo. In its heyday, the
MindGeek website looked like anyother web technology company
site, offering SEO, search, andother services.
But they owned porn. I mean,they OWNED it!: PornHub,
RedTube, YouPorn, XTube, DigitalPlayground, men.com, Mofos,

Nutaku, Reality Kings, ShawnCody, Twisties, WhyNotBi.com,
and more. I may or may not havelisted these to give you new
sites to check out, but, yeah,amazing portfolio. Right?
And now it's owned by Aylo, atax dodging hedge fund dealing
with MindGeek's issues likeTexas. The Kids Online Safety
Act is obviously on Congress'minds since they subjected a

number of social media CEOs toprobing hearings on what the
executives plan to do to protectyoung users.
