Meke Brown (00:03):
Hello, and welcome to PNC Tech Beat. Where we bring
you interesting technologicalnews occurrences not usually
covered in all the otheroutlets. We also cover an Apple
and a Meta occasionally, ofcourse. Anything we find
exciting, we're happy to sharewith our listeners.
First up, we have OpenAI'straining data expanding to

(00:24):
YouTube videos. Artificialintelligence and machine
learning data sources have tocover as much as possible to
best improve the product theyare used for.
OpenAI and other trainingproducts consume data sources so
fast that they are in need ofnew collections, this time from
YouTube. At least Google holdsagreements with YouTube
creators, giving it permissionto scrub transcripts, not like

(00:46):
any of those agreements aretruly agreed to. That takes
understanding legalese, whichmost don't, And YouTube's new
video podcast must be a goldmine of info.
Next up, we found out about theexistence of Disney's
Stuntronics. Last week, wetalked about an exoskeleton suit
by Skeletonics and now thesestuntbots!

(01:07):
The Stuntronics defy gravitywith backward somersaults and
other amazing flying featsthanks to a fusion of angular
momentum and motion controltechnology. Human stunts people
have to dust off their resumesif they're prepared for this
pivotal change to actionentertainment from Disney.
With the Podcast Index, aproduct created by podcast

(01:30):
industry professionals andenthusiasts around the world,
there's a proactive effort toraise podcast quality and
accessibility standards tostrengthen the podcasting
ecosystem. There is no more wildwild west.
This brings us to transcripts.
US Pondering Nerds believe thatall of your favorite podcasts
should offer them. New toolslike the Podcasting 2.0

(01:51):
standard's primarily a set ofguidelines for RSS feed-using
programmers. But it's stillgreat for podcast fans of all
kinds to know how one ofPodcasting 2.0's proudest feats
is allowing transcripts to belinked directly within the
podcast RSS feed. Gotta be happyabout standards upgrades! This
opens up the audio realm to moreconsumers.

(02:14):
Finally, some news about apossible new source of power
humans are able to harness forrocket propulsion. What is
commonly known now is rocketsneed some kind of emitting
propulsion to go from A to B,fast. Right? Well, decades of
electrostatics researchconducted by former NASA
Engineer and Scientist CharlesBuhler finds that a system's
center of mass can move the massforward by putting its own

(02:34):
electric field or pressureoff-symmetry.
The way I picture this is seeingwater (a mass) on an uneven
surface (a symmetry of thefield) be pulled upward instead
of downwards, away from gravity(the electrical forces prevent
it from moving anywhere else butwhere the asymmetrical direction
makes it go). FYI, if you foundthis description as amusing as I
did thinking it up, post areview and tell me.

(02:57):
Now what's noteworthy here isthat Charles Buhler and his
company, Exodus PropulsionTechnologies, developed a drive
(or driver?) that illustratesthis. He's making the scientific
and engineering community roundsto share findings and create
conversation. There's even aninvitation to collaborate on the
research with Exodus bycontacting Buhler on LinkedIn.
Let's wish him luck.

(03:20):
