This is a brand new episode ofour bi-weekly mini episode

(01:16):
series, "Caroline, What's New?"where we go through all of the
latest and greatest in Disneynews.
This episode is being recordedon Sunday, November 16th, 2025.
So, Caroline, what's new?

Caroline Aimetti (01:30):
Let's talk about Disneyland.
I think this is really it'ssuch a simple thing, but
something that I feel like willdelight listeners and you and I
equally.
So theStorybook Land Canal Boats in
Disneyland just reopened onNovember 14th after some, you
know, refurb and work.
And it now features a newTangled scene featuring
Rapunzel's Tower and a littleboat dock that features like a

(01:53):
miniature of Flynn andRapunzel's boat and little
twinkling lights.
So here's the most magical partfor me.
So during the day, the scenewill have "When Will My Life
Begin?" playing.
But then once dusk arrives, itchanges to "I See the Light."

Conor Perkins (02:08):
I love that.
I saw their little announcementfor it with the lantern on
social media and I was like sogood.
I'm a sucker for miniatures.
Whenever I see theStorybook Land Canal Boats, I'm
like, I want to go on thatsomeday.

Caroline Aimetti (02:21):
That's such a that ride is so you coded.
I mean, we have to get youthere.
It's okay.
Yes.
I mean, you go through likeMonstro's mouth, it's just like,
yeah, it's great.
Yeah, it's for you.
Let's hop over to Disney World.
So the much discussed lobby barat the Grand Floridian Hotel,
the Perch, has officiallyopened.
So located in the resort'snewly refurbished lobby, the

(02:43):
perch draws inspiration from theGrand Floridian's Victorian
design and its former birdcagethat was in the lobby.
The menu features wine, beer, anon-alcoholic blueberry basil
iced tea that looks so good, andsignature cocktails like the
Floridian 75.
So I know a lot of people havelike not been feeling, not been
feeling this, being like, why dowe have to have a bar in this

(03:03):
beautiful lobby?
I do feel like it very muchfits with the aesthetic.
We'll see.
I I I've never stayed at theGrand Floridian, so I don't have
that kind of attachment to it.

Conor Perkins (03:12):
But or that kind of money.

Caroline Aimetti (03:13):
Or that kind of money.
So what does it matter?

Conor Perkins (03:15):
Yeah.
Honestly, that blueberry basiliced tea, that sounds good as
shit.

Caroline Aimetti (03:18):
It looked the picture makes it look, yeah.
We would, we would, mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And that would be much more inour price range.
Oh, yeah.
I was gonna say to you, try to.
I think the Floridian 75, whatwould you guess?
How much do you think thatwould be?

Conor Perkins (03:30):
$75.
No, I'm joking.
Uh I'm gonna say $24.

Caroline Aimetti (03:36):
$22.
Look at that.
A little cheaper than youthought.

Conor Perkins (03:40):
That's me.
We can't stop.

Caroline Aimetti (03:41):
If you haven't, if you haven't watched
our last full-length episode,um, it won't cost much.
You should totally watch.
Let's move on.
So, in other hotel dining news,Wai lulu Bar and Grill at the
Polynesian Island Tower willbegin taking advanced dining
reservations beginning December4th.
So, this popular spot has beenwalk-up only up until now.
It opened about a year ago.

(04:02):
So, if you like me have reallybeen wanting to go, this should
make it a lot easier because youdon't have to go and put your
name down and wait for who knowshow long.
So, I think that's a lot ofgood news, especially because
now you can kind of reservearound the time of the fireworks
because it's such a greatfireworks viewing spot.
So, keep that in mind.
A new store will be coming toDisney Springs on November 21st.

(04:23):
So, just a few days away.
The Disney Drop Shop will becoming to the Marketplace Co-op.
It will feature merch centeredaround blind boxes, exclusive
items, and collectible brandslike Pop Mart, Cosbi, I think
it's called, or unless it'sCosbi.
I'm so sorry, I've actuallynever heard of it before.
And Beast Kingdom.

(04:43):
So all of the things thatConor, I think, would really
enjoy.

Conor Perkins (04:48):
Damn it.

Caroline Aimetti (04:50):
And rumor has it, this has not been confirmed
by Disney, but rumor has it thatthe shop will have dedicated
areas for influencers who wantto film or stream unboxing
videos.

Conor Perkins (05:01):
That's wild that we live in that kind of a
timeline.

Caroline Aimetti (05:05):
I know.
Again, not confirmed.
So let's let's see.

Conor Perkins (05:10):
Honestly, I kind of hope that it does happen.
I'm curious.

Caroline Aimetti (05:12):
Let's just like lean into it, right?
I mean, you and I will probablyend up in there if that's the
case.
Yeah.
Right.
Um, I saw something, and Idon't know if it was by Pop Mart
or one of these othercompanies, but it's this line of
little ewoks in differentoutfits.
And they were very, very cute.

Conor Perkins (05:30):
I love me and ewok.

Caroline Aimetti (05:31):
I know.
I know.
And the last little piece, Ifeel like my my my parks news
has been a little bit all overthe place today.
I don't know.
Obviously, we know that all ofthe holiday parties are
happening right now.
We're in the full swing ofthat.
Um, but this little tidbit isfor all of us great movie ride
lovers out there.

(05:51):
And I know there are lots of usbased on your reactions to our
pilot episode.
So if you've never listened tothe pilot, go back and listen to
the pilot episode because wetalk about the great movie ride.

Conor Perkins (06:00):
Apologies for the audio.

Caroline Aimetti (06:02):
It was a long time ago.
But the girlies featured in theopening footlight parade scene
from the attraction can now bespotted in the window display of
Keystone clothiers in Hollywoodstudios rocking some very
Rockette-esque holiday outfits.
And damn are these facesterrifying.

Conor Perkins (06:23):
There was a reason they were behind a scrim.

Caroline Aimetti (06:26):
They're horrifying.
But we love to see them anyway.
I'm glad that they're aroundand that we're I'm glad that
they're doing it.

Conor Perkins (06:33):
We didn't throw them out.

Caroline Aimetti (06:34):
We didn't put them in the trash.
But they're like fully like oh,yeah, no, no, no.

Conor Perkins (06:40):
Fully like arms are up.

Caroline Aimetti (06:42):
Definitely look up this picture.
Um that was good to know thatthey're around and they didn't
go into the trash.
So that's what I have for parksright now.

Conor Perkins (06:50):
All right, let's talk Disney Plus news.
I'm gonna start out with what'snew and what aggravating thing
the Disney company has decidedto start doing now.
Uh, and that is that on afourth quarter and full earnings
conference call, CEO Bob Igerannounced that Generative AI is
coming to Disney Plus.
Insert groans and eye rollshere.

(07:11):
He said in the call, quote, theother thing that we're really
excited about that AI is goingto give us the ability to do is
to provide users of Disney Pluswith a much more engaged
experience, including theability for them to create
user-generated content and toconsume user-generated content,
mostly short form, from others.
End quote.

(07:31):
He said that Disney hadproductive conversations with
unnamed AI companies, and hehopes that an agreement could be
reached with them that would, quote, reflect our need to
protect our IP, end quote.
This has caused a wave ofbacklash on the company from
artists, including Dana Terrace, who's the creator of the Disney

(07:54):
Plus series The Owl House, whoposted, quote, unsubscribe from
Disney Plus, Pirate Owl House.
I don't care.
Fuck gen AI, end quote.
Bad is so badass.
This is quite the turnaroundfrom the summertime when Disney
was joining Universal to sueartificial intelligence for

(08:15):
mid-journey over its imagegenerator and a continuation of
this entertainment industryflip-flopping around AI, very
much wanting to have their cakeand eat it too.
And if it isn't clear where westand, generative AI is not art
and has a much better use in ourworld than that of plagiarizing

(08:36):
artists and slopping upcreative spaces.
So listen, we're not the typeof people who are gonna be like
AI doesn't need to exist at all.
Like, there are certainly greatplaces for it to exist.
Doesn't need to be in acreative space.

Caroline Aimetti (08:47):
So let's use it to help like cure diseases.

Conor Perkins (08:49):
Yeah.
Clean up the ocean, some shitlike that.
So thanks for letting us down alittle bit, Disney.
Uh let's talk about what's nowavailable on Disney Plus.
So, now available, the newChristmas film, A Very Jonas
Christmas, premiered on DisneyPlus on November 14th and is now
available to watch on DisneyPlus.
The official description of thefilm is the Jonas brothers

(09:09):
close out their tour with amassive show in London, and all
they want is to get back home tospend Christmas with their
respective families.
As Kevin, Joe, and Nickencounter a series of
misconnections and escalatingobstacles, their brotherly bond
is tested.
All three brothers have beengrappling with their roles in
the band.
Kevin longs to try somethingnew.
Joe reconnects with someonefrom his past, and Nick feels

(09:32):
the weight of decision-makingresponsibilities.
As they encounter setback aftersetback trying to get home
before the holiday, the brotherslearn to tap into the Christmas
spirit and reconnect with eachother in this family movie
featuring brand new originalsongs and special celebrity
guests.
I've heard from people onlinewho have seen it that they're
liking it, that they think it'sa good idea.

Caroline Aimetti (09:52):
It sounds very it sounds like a holiday
special.
And at the in the holidayseason, I will watch that, baby.

Conor Perkins (09:58):
Yeah.

Caroline Aimetti (09:59):
We love great.
Honestly, I add it to the list.

Conor Perkins (10:03):
And as I mentioned in our previous news
update, the Fantastic Four FirstSteps, Freakier Friday, and the
Lindsay Lohan Masterpiece, LifeSize, are all now streaming on
Disney Plus.

Caroline Aimetti (10:12):
Yes.

Conor Perkins (10:13):
So you can watch them.

Caroline Aimetti (10:15):
Stay tuned for a future episode on Life Size.
I'm not even afraid to saythat.
We have to talk about LifeSize.

Conor Perkins (10:20):

one-hour presentation of TaylorSwift The Eras Tour, The Final

And that's going to air on ABCon December 12th at 8 p.m.
Eastern.
So now let's talk Disney Films.

(12:29):
Stuff that's now available.
Kind of two things really rightnow.

Predator (12:32):
Badlands from 20th Century Studios opened at number
one at the Global and DomesticBox Office.
It pulled in $80 millionglobally, making it the
strongest box office opening inthe franchise's history.
The film is certified fresh at86% on Rotten Tomatoes and an A
minus cinema score.
So if you're a Predator fan, seems like this is the one to go

(12:53):
see.
If you haven't seen it, butalso if you're a Predator fan,
you probably already saw it.

Caroline Aimetti (12:56):
Right.

Conor Perkins (12:57):
And then Zootopia 2 had its LA premiere at the El
Capitan Theater on November13th.
The film hits theaters laterthis month on November 26th.
For fans of the Disney tradingcard game Lorcana, if they
attend a Cinemark theater to seethe film opening weekend, they
will receive an exclusive card.

Caroline Aimetti (13:14):
Cool.

Conor Perkins (13:15):
So I might try and make my way to Cinemark
theater.

Caroline Aimetti (13:18):
I was gonna say.

Conor Perkins (13:20):
Listen, I'll take anything for free.
And then Disney Films announcedcoming soon.
This is the biggest thing.
So on November 12th, Disneydecide to drop two summer 2026
teasers on the same day.
One for the Devil Wears Prada 2and the second for Toy Story 5.
In the first 24 hours, bothfilms generated a combined 327

(13:42):
million views globally.
So that's 185 million views forThe Devil Wears Prada 2 and 142
million views for Toy Story 5.
So, you know, it's happening,baby.

Caroline Aimetti (13:54):
2026 is gonna be a big movie year.

Conor Perkins (13:57):
It is, it is.

Caroline Aimetti (13:58):
We just got like pictures of the Odyssey
too.
There's just a lock coming up.

Conor Perkins (14:01):
Oh my god, Anne...
Anne as Penelope.

Caroline Aimetti (14:04):
Oh my god, Anne in Devil Wears Prada 2, and
then the Odyssey.
Oh my god.

Conor Perkins (14:08):
She looks perfect in the Odyssey.
She's got a killer year comingup because it's the Odyssey,
it's Devil Wears Prada 2, andVerity, I think, is next year.

Caroline Aimetti (14:17):
Right.
Wow.

Conor Perkins (14:19):
Yeah.

Caroline Aimetti (14:20):
I'm ready for Anne to have her era.
I mean, she's always, she'sjust always been in an Anne for
me.
But yeah.

Conor Perkins (14:26):
Where Anne hath a will, Anne Hathaway.

Caroline Aimetti (14:28):
Anne Hath away.

Conor Perkins (14:29):
That's what I got.

Caroline Aimetti (14:31):
Okay.
I love it.
Those were good.
That was good.
I'm going to wrap it up withagain some some bits and bobs.
Okay.
So I'll start off with somenot-so-great news and then we'll
move on to some better things.
But Rob Lake Magic with specialguest The Muppets, which began
performances at the BroadhurstTheater on Broadway on October
28th, will end its limitedholiday engagement early today.

(14:51):
So the day we're recordingNovember 16th.
Um, it was originally slated torun through January 18th.
Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, the great gonzo, Fozzie Bear,
and more were all making theirBroadway debuts in the show.
So our hearts were working inthat production.
I know.
I I have a lot of thoughtsabout like why this might be
happening.

Conor Perkins (15:11):
Yeah.

Caroline Aimetti (15:11):
Yeah, there's a lot, maybe it's another story
for another time.
But for now, we just, you know, our hearts really go out to
everyone who's expecting to havework through January.
It's so, so difficult.
But let's move on to some newsthat always makes me happy,
which is about the Disney cruiseline, specifically the Disney
Destiny.
So the Destiny is about to setsail on its inaugural voyage in
a few days on November 20th.
But first, it hosted a previewevent that gave us some peeks at

(15:34):
really exciting features of theship.
I mean, let's talk about thenew musical production of
Hercules, starring Corey J.
Bradford, the Hydra, the muses, the costumes, the vocals.
I mean, what the hell is goingon?

Conor Perkins (15:50):
I have to say, this the show and the ship in
general is one of the few timesI have ever seen Disney produce
concept art that was not as goodas what the finished product
ended up in.

Caroline Aimetti (16:02):
I totally agree with you.
I totally agree with that.

Conor Perkins (16:05):
It's insane.

Caroline Aimetti (16:06):
For the Hercules production alone, let
me on board.
That alone.
But then here's all the otherthings that we got peeks at.
The Pride Lands Feast of theLion King dinner show, DeVil's
piano bar with appearances byCruella herself.

Conor Perkins (16:22):
Yes.
Also, did you see the sig-?

Caroline Aimetti (16:25):
Did you see the signature cocktail?

Conor Perkins (16:26):
No.

Caroline Aimetti (16:26):
Um, what is it called?
I think it's called likeperfectly wretched or something.
You get a perfume bottlesprayer of like some sort of
essence.
You get glitter.

Conor Perkins (16:34):
I love essence.

Caroline Aimetti (16:35):
And then you get like an edible gelatin
lipstick.
It's just like it's too good.

Conor Perkins (16:44):
Why don't we get to go?

Caroline Aimetti (16:46):
I don't know.

Conor Perkins (16:47):
I wouldn't have said sale.

Caroline Aimetti (16:49):
I know.
And then there's like thepirates-themed casket and cannon
bar, moments with Dr.
Facilier in his parlor, theadult-only Marvel comedy show,
another haunted mansion parlor,and more.
There's an Aquamouse thatfeatures Disney villains in the
movie that plays.

Conor Perkins (17:07):
There's villains in the elevators.
Like there's this giant, likemaleficent dragon in the carpet.

Caroline Aimetti (17:14):
Yeah.
Like Susan Egan is also theship's godmother.
I mean, it's like, it's likethey made it for us.

Conor Perkins (17:21):
Speaking of Susan Egan, just another little thing
to add in.
Susan Egan surprised the castof Beauty and the Beast National
Tour.

Caroline Aimetti (17:27):
She and Kyra sang a duet and they were so
beautiful.

Conor Perkins (17:31):
And she said Kyra is the perfect Belle.
And I was like, You don't needanother endorsement to go see
this show when it comes back toit.

Caroline Aimetti (17:38):
That's what they should be slapping on the
on the on the promos, baby.

Conor Perkins (17:42):
Truly.
Yeah.
Truly.

Caroline Aimetti (17:43):
That was so magical.
I love it.

Conor Perkins (17:44):
It was.
But this back to this ship.
Yeah.

Caroline Aimetti (17:48):
This is the one for us.
Like, I need you to go on thewish.

Conor Perkins (17:51):
Yeah.

Caroline Aimetti (17:51):
But this is the one for us.

Conor Perkins (17:53):
Yeah.
I want to go on the treasuretoo.
I want to go on, I want tocollect them all too.
But this one, the the megaralounge.

Caroline Aimetti (18:01):
The me- like I think you, I think you probably
saw me comment.
I was like, this is everythingI've ever wanted.

Conor Perkins (18:07):
Everything you've ever wanted.
This is everything I've everwanted.
What got me was the ship'shorn, the "Go the Distance"
horn.

Caroline Aimetti (18:14):
Yep.
Yep.
Yeah.
I mean, I mean so good.
Disney, please.
Please.
But it's probably too late.
But yeah.

Conor Perkins (18:23):
The inaugural voyage invitations already
happened.

Caroline Aimetti (18:26):
The prince is giving a ball, and we were not
invited.

Conor Perkins (18:28):
No, not a bit.
We'll crash it though.

Caroline Aimetti (18:31):
The best we're going to get is another piece
of news related to this, whichis that Disney Cruise Line is
returning to the Macy'sThanksgiving Day parade with an
all-new performance celebratingthe destiny.
So we can see that.
Um, it will feature a cast ofheroes and villains and the
ship's anthem song, "This IsYour Destiny," which is also
available for streaming now.

Conor Perkins (18:49):
So I wonder if it's very similar to the song

"Destiny" that was the Mission: Space. (18:53):
undefined
I haven't listened to it yet.
Not at all.
It won't be at all.
It won't be at all.
But it just makes me think ofthat.
And our destiny.
I like that song.
Through how space and time.
The achievement of mankind.

Caroline Aimetti (19:14):
And then she like gets fancy with it.
She's like, the achievement ofmankind.
Like, yeah.
It's good.
Yeah.
This episode is crazy.
Okay.

Conor Perkins (19:25):
Whatever.

Caroline Aimetti (19:26):
Um, and that's all I have Disney wise.
And the last thing that I haveto say is happy Wicked Week.
Everybody.

Conor Perkins (19:33):
She will be with us all through Wicked Week, like
hand prints on our hearts.
Um, Caroline and I are doingthree showings.
We're doing an early accessIMAX screening.
We are doing Dolby.
We are doing 4DX.
And then I am headed to thedrive-in to do a double feature

of Wicked and Wicked (19:52):
For Good on the largest screen in the
United States.
Um, and we will be back, andwhen we're back, uh we'll be
doing a bonus episode for youall.

Caroline Aimetti (20:04):
So um because we can't we can't not see you on
the other side of the war.

Conor Perkins (20:10):
I mean see you on the other side of the war.
All right, that's gonna do itfor us.
Thank you all so much forlistening.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say.
