Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to the Position Podcast.
I am your host, kimberly Knight, and today we're going to talk
about reasons why God may nothave answered your prayers.
We're going to jump right in atthe deep end because this first
one I'm going to kind of tellon myself I thought God did not
answer my prayers but I wasn'treally praying, I was whining,

(00:28):
and I'll tell the truth.
When I was single and I havebeen single a long, long time
and you know I was asking theLord about getting married and
you know I was doing my best tolive right and do the right
things and position myself formarriage.
You know they say you know yougot to be a wife before he finds
you.
I was doing all those things.
I could cook, clean and allthat kind of stuff.

(00:50):
I was living holy be about yourfather's business.
I was ministering, I wasraising my children, I was
active in my church, but Iwanted somebody to share it with
.
I had long stopped praying andstarted whining, whining.
Sometimes we think we'repraying when actually we're

(01:10):
moaning, groaning andcomplaining and we're supposed
to come before his presence withthanksgiving and enter his
courts with praise.
So when we get into that prayercloset, if we're whining,
moaning, groaning, complaining.
What's the answer to a moan anda groan, unless we're moaning
and groaning in the spirit?
So, yeah, that's one reason whyyour prayers may not get
answered.
Here's another one.

(01:32):
Sometimes well, let me not saysometimes, because actually I I
do believe that, um, people'sgifts, talents, anointing,
calling are there to supportpeople and their need.
So anytime we pray, hedispatches the answer through a
gifting, through an anointing, through a talent, through

(01:53):
support from people who havethat calling in their lives and
they either didn't respond orthey've been slow to respond.
This is why obedience is soimportant, and delayed obedience
or procrastination is reallydisobedience.
And that also means thatsomebody, somewhere, has prayed
a prayer.
God has dispatched you.
Move upon your heart to startthe nonprofit.

(02:14):
Moved upon your heart to startthe coaching practice.
Moved upon your heart tominister.
Moved upon your heart to writethe book.
Write the book.
Write the book.
Write the book.
Did y'all hear me?
The record is not book.
Write the book.
Write the book.
Write the book.
Did y'all hear me?
The record is not stuck.
Write the book.
You've been waiting for a sign.
This is it.
Write the book Because it is ananswer to someone's prayer and

(02:40):
right now someone is crying outto God saying why haven't you
answered my prayer, when indeedhe has, but you haven't
responded?
On the back end, as the response, as the solution to the request
Write the darn book, start thepodcast.
Write the book and the podcast, all right.
So another reason why you maynot have received an answer to

(03:03):
prayer is because I love you.
I mean, cause this is going tobe a tough one.
I love you.
So I'm just going to say that, before we even start, he did
give you a response to yourprayer.
You just either didn'tunderstand it you didn't sit
still long enough to hear it andproperly discern it, or you
don't agree with it.
So you keep looking for anotherresponse.

(03:27):
Just because the response wasn'twhat we wanted doesn't mean he
didn't answer the prayer.
Yeah, so one of the things Icall reasoning is when we try to
find a loophole in what God hascommanded us to do.
So we've tried to find a wayaround what he said to do.

(03:50):
So you say, oh Lord, I want tomarry this man.
He's like that is not the one.
He's not even saved.
It does.
Leave him alone, walk away, walk away.
No, lord, if you just given tome.
All right, you're going to getwhat you want.
Don't want what you got, butnevertheless some of us need to
go back to God and say did yougive me a response to this

(04:12):
prayer?
And I didn't receive it.
And if that is so, go back andrepent and ask the Lord, in his
grace, to tell you again, andthen be quick to obey or to move
on whatever he tells you to donext.
Just because you didn't likethe response doesn't mean he
didn't respond.
Lastly, another reason why wethink God has not answered our

(04:35):
prayer is because he has givenus instructions before the need
that we prayed about, or theissue or the circumstance we
prayed about, occurred and wedidn't obey at that time.
I'm giving you an example.
God said to you I want you tosave five percent of your salary
, that's it.

(04:56):
I just want you to put it in ahigh interest bank account.
Just say 5% of your salary.
And then, a year from now, youcome up on this emergency, this
financial emergency, and he says, okay, you can go in the bank
and pull that out and meet theneed.
He knew it was coming and heprovided for it ahead of time.
But because you didn'tunderstand why or he didn't

(05:19):
explain it at the time, or youwere slow to do what he
commanded you to do.
It wasn't in place by the timeyou needed it.
This is why he says obedience isbetter than sacrifice.
The word says that.
Because sacrifice, we know whywe're sacrificing.
With obedience, you don'talways know why you're being
obedient, you're just doing whatyou're told because of who told

(05:42):
you.
So the instruction that youreceive today might actually be
the answer to our prayertomorrow.
This is why obedience is betterthan sacrifice.
This is why, even if you don'tunderstand, obey.
Even if you don't understandobey, it may not be for this

(06:08):
season, it may be for another, all right.
So there you have it.
Those are four reasons why youmay not have received an answer
to your prayer.
Either we weren't reallypraying, we were whining,
moaning, groaning andcomplaining, or someone did not
respond to the call that wouldhave met the need that you were

(06:29):
praying about, or they've beenslow to respond.
Or another reason why you maynot have received an answer to
your prayer is because we didget it from God, but we didn't
receive it.
We didn't understand it, wedidn't agree with it, or we
didn't move on it.
And then, lastly, he gave us aninstruction prior to the need
that we prayed about that wedidn't follow.

(06:49):
And those are just some of thereasons why you may not have
received an answer to yourprayer.
If you have another reason youwould like to share, please drop
me a line.
I'm going to leave my email inthe show notes.
Be sure to share this with afriend, and if you have a prayer
request, drop me an email.
I'll be glad to come intoagreement with you.
For God's will in your life, Iwill see you next time.

(07:12):
Until then, be wonderfullyblessed.
Bye now.
