š The Red Lipstick Moment: A Love Letter to the Woman in the Mirror
Coming home to yourself starts with a reflection.
What if one small act ā like putting on red lipstick ā could crack you open?
In this deeply personal solo episode, Julz shares the quiet turning point that reconnected her with her power, her reflection, and her divine feminine essence. Itās not about makeup. Itās about choosing to be seen ā first by yourself.
Inside:š The surprising story behind her signature red lipstickš The awakening moment that changed how she shows upš„ A challenge to find your own sacred daily ritual of pleasure
This episode marks a new chapter ā a shift toward small luxuries, radical self-love, and remembering who you were before the world told you otherwise.
When was the last time you truly saw yourself? Not through a to-do list. Not through your childrenās eyes. Not filtered through expectations. But truly ā just you, looking back at you.
I had that moment. And it started with red lipstick.Yes ā that one.
Youāve probably seen me wear it.You may have noticed. You may love it or not.And Iām okay with both. Because there was a time⦠I couldnāt stand the sight of me.
Before the Lipstick
I used to hide.
Like many women, I believed being small made me safe.Blending in made me lovable.
At the time, color scared me.Visibility? Terrified me.A red matte lipstick? Permanent and bold? That felt like an act of rebellion. But one day, a friend dragged me to Sephora and said, āTry this. Just once.āI did. I covered my mouth with a book on the ride home.I was afraid to be seen.
But when I walked through the door, my (now ex) husband looked at me with surprise ā and approval. Not because I was prettier. But because I was present. Alive.
The next day, I wore it to work.Same thing. Compliments. Connection. Confidence.
And yet ā life happened. Kids, divorce, exhaustion.I forgot her.Until COVID.
The Mirror, Again
During lockdown, while searching for a lipstick that wouldnāt rub off under a mask, I hesitantly picked up red again.I applied it and looked in the mirror.
And there she was.
Not just a mother. Not just a wife or an ex.Not a tired woman with responsibilities.
I saw a woman in her power.A woman with potential, beauty, magic.A woman I had forgotten⦠but who had been waiting for me all along.
That was my red lipstick moment.
Your Turn: What Awakens You?
Itās not about lipstick. Itās about permission. To stand out.To love what you see.To stop waiting for someone else to tell you: āYouāre allowed.ā
Maybe for you itās a certain perfume.Or dancing in your kitchen barefoot.Or that espresso in silence before the house wakes.Or putting on a silk robe, just because.
Whatās your tiny, sacred ritual? What awakens you?
