You need to take a sip yeah we're probably going to give

So if you haven't watched ityet, go watch it, and we
encourage it because spoileralert here.
We love this series yes so pushpause here, go watch the finale
and then come back and listento our review, because we don't

(02:52):
want to spoil how it ends, butit is hallmark, so you could
probably take a guess yes how alot of the families wind up, yes
, wind down.

Garry (03:03):
I don't know so where do we live off?

Amy (03:06):
where do we live off?
All right, so let's quicklyrecap each family yes right, so
we have the hill family the hillfamily josh is falling for
sheriff nora his fiance stacysays she's getting on the plane.
Yes, because they're supposedto be going to australia.
And to make a choice yes, heeither needs to get on the plane
with her or stay.

(03:27):
That's right, right, that'swhere we are with that.
The Lynn family.
The family is letting GrandmaLynn Nai Nai believe that Marcus
and Ella are engaged.

Garry (03:38):
Right.

Amy (03:39):
Instead of admitting that Ted is gay and engaged to Marcus
Right Right.

Garry (03:44):
Correct.

Amy (03:44):
So that's where we are.
They're all.

Garry (03:48):
Together, putting on this , putting a facade, facade,
there you go.

Amy (03:51):
Thank you.
Then we have the Woods family.
Sylvie has gone off into thestorm after fighting with Lucy.

Garry (03:58):
Yep.

Amy (03:59):
And Lucy and Annie are at home.

Garry (04:02):
Are you okay?

Amy (04:03):
Oh gosh.

Garry (04:06):
Annie, are you okay?
Are you okay, Annie?
I had to.
It's the last episode.

Amy (04:08):
Oh my gosh, You've been waiting all season long to do
that.
Okay.
Then we have the Lewin family.
This is where, even thoughLinda has brought a much younger
boyfriend to her daughter'shouse for Christmas, she has
realized she might still havefeelings for Robert, with whom
she was married to for 35 years.
Yes, sir, and especially nowthat he has a date and he had a

(04:30):
makeover.

Garry (04:31):
I know it looks good.

Amy (04:34):
Then we have the Camerina family.

Garry (04:37):
Yes.

Amy (04:37):
Even though Gabby and Katie have made amends.
Because Katie was kind of abully to Gabby, she started the
nickname that tortured Gabbythroughout her.
What middle school, high schoolyears Kevin and Katie have
broken up because Kevin and hisparents saw the video of Katie
starting the Easy Bake name forGabby.

Garry (04:57):
Yes.

Amy (04:59):
The Minetti-Hanahan family.
Now this is actuallyinteresting to me.
They're actually in a goodplace, yeah they are they're the
only ones, they're the ones whoare the most chaotic, yep, and
at the end of this one they'rekind of they're in a good place.
Right, that's true, they weregetting ready to take the
picture, even though connie'ssick, right, she doesn't know

(05:19):
exactly what's wrong with her.
It brought them together andthey're about to take a family
pic.
They're all happy, they'reexcited, and then the power goes
out.
Yeah, right.
So, so that's where we are.
That's where we are With allthe families and it is a really,
really.
I think, if I had to sum up myfirst take of this episode, a

(05:41):
really great finale, yes To allthe families.
And how they did it in an houror what 40 minutes or whatever
it is, I have no idea, but itjust flowed.

Garry (05:54):
It sure did.

Amy (05:55):
Seamlessly.
What do?

Garry (05:56):
you think I thought the same thing, and with having all
the families together in onehouse and to be able to finish.

Amy (06:05):
Well, we haven't gotten there yet.

Garry (06:06):
No, I know, but be able to finish telling the stories of
each one of them was brilliant.

Amy (06:11):
Was brilliant.
Yeah, so the Minetti Hanahansare the only ones who have power
because they fixed their power.
Thanks to the solar and thecompetition between Clark and
Chuck, right, so all of theirlights are back on.
So it's Christmas Day and wesee Josh goes to Nora's house,
yep, right, and he brings Noracoffee.

(06:34):
Yes, and he's like I knew youwere probably up all night
finishing the bike, and she'slike I haven't finished it yet,
right, right.
So they have a little moment.

Garry (06:43):
Where they're fixing or putting the bike together.

Amy (06:46):
Right.

Garry (06:47):
And they're reminiscing Right.

Amy (06:50):
And he admits he's not disappointed that his flight was
canceled.
Yes so we're pretty confidenthe has made up his mind.
But Nora says About whether ornot he's going.

Garry (07:00):
Nora says to some extent you're still living the high
school life.

Amy (07:04):
Yeah Right, nora says to some extent, you're still living
the high school life, right?

Garry (07:07):
Well, she says we have separate lives.

Amy (07:08):
Yeah, and it's high school all over again.

Garry (07:10):
Different worlds Different worlds.
We live in different worlds andthen she's like Josh or Theo is
going to be waking up.
You should probably go right,yeah.

Amy (07:22):
So he gets his coat, he goes outside and from the
outside on the porch he seestheo come running in, excited
about the bike yeah you can tellthat he's like he tugs at his
heartstrings a little bitbecause theo hugs his mom and
yeah, so that was kind of sweet.
But then you're like, oh well, dang yeah, is he gonna end up

(07:42):
with her, or not?
I think I have an idea me toobecause it's homework.
But you know, then we see, thenit cuts to annie and lucy and
they leave to go find sylvie.
Yes, because sylvie didn't comehome or they don't know where
she went right.
She left right right and then wecut to the scene of linda and
gail.
They're in the hallway of theirhouse right, and we have the

(08:06):
same scene that we had now.
This is the lewin family yep sowhen robert and evan woke up,
they had this meeting in thehallway and they had, like the
western type music background.
So now we have linda and gail, who's the you know who's now
ro's girlfriend something theone that Robert's kind of seeing

(08:30):
now and they have a meeting inthe hallway and Linda has made
some assumptions about Robertand Gail and Gail makes it very
clear that Robert's a gentleman.
He slept on the couch and youcan see Linda's face light up,
so I thought that was prettycute.

Garry (08:46):
Yes, she still had love for him.

Amy (08:49):
She still had a little bit of love, oh yeah.

Garry (08:52):
And then we cut to the scene where they actually find
Sylvia.

Amy (08:56):
Sylvie or Sylvie.
You keep saying Sylvia.
I don't know how to say that.

Garry (09:01):
I know After eight episodes, I'm still saying
Sylvie.
Yes, and she's at the bakery.

Amy (09:06):
She's at the bakery.

Garry (09:07):
Slept on a booth or in a booth.

Amy (09:10):
Yeah, yeah, she slept in a booth.

Garry (09:12):
And what a heartfelt moment.
Right, because Lucy kind ofjust you know, apologizes and
tells her how proud she is ofher and didn't realize what was
going on with her relationship.
Right and um, while they'resitting there making up, or, of
course, lucy says you have us asa family.

(09:35):
Right, the jukebox turns on andstarts playing a song and they
all look at each other and it'slike oh, it's mom.

Amy (09:43):
It's mom, the joy it's a little wild that it, that it
turns on.

Garry (09:48):
I don't know no, it turns on right there, I know well,
and then I think, I think um,what's her name?

Amy (09:54):
uh, sylvie says something like it must be the backup
battery oh, yes, that's right.
Yeah, yeah, but it's like Idon't know, it might be be your
little joy Joy box, joy jukebox, right, so they have their
moment.
Like you said, lucy apologizesand yeah, and Sylvie's kind of
touched by that.

(10:15):
So, we see them kind of make uppretty quickly.

Garry (10:17):
Yeah.

Amy (10:18):
Right, which is good.
And then we cut to the MinettiHanahans, and they're the only
ones who have power.
But to the Minetti Hanahans, and they're the only ones who
have power, and Connie hasinsisted that they invite their
neighbors over, much to thereluctance of Chuck.
You gotta love Chuck, so he'slike okay.

(10:38):
So the first family that showsup is the Lynn family.
The Lynn family and they allcome marching in.
Grandma Lynn, yeah, nai, nai.

Garry (10:45):
Right, they all come marching in Grandma Lynn.
Yeah, nai, nai.

Amy (10:47):
Right, the mom, the dad, Ted Marcus.

Garry (10:50):
Ella and what's Ella?

Amy (10:52):
Yeah, the sister.

Garry (10:53):
Yes.

Amy (10:53):
Ella, they come in, and that's when Grandma Lynn meets
Wally.

Garry (10:59):
Oh my, gosh and she kind of grills him.
It's so funny.

Amy (11:05):
And Wally's still like am I in trouble?
What's going on, what'shappening?
Doesn't she say what do you dofor a living?

Garry (11:08):
Yes, what do you?
Yeah, so she just grills him.
I mean, she just grills him,she does.

Amy (11:13):
She really grills him and takes him, but then she finds
out he's a minister.

Garry (11:19):
Yes An ordained.

Amy (11:20):
You can see the light bulb go off and.
Grandma Lynn's Now again, you're like, oh crap, she's
going to try to get Marcus andElla married before she leaves.
You can already see the wheelsspinning there.
Yes, Right.

Garry (11:36):
Because she knows, because the prior episode or
their episode, she saw Ted andMarcus kissing, so she knows.

Amy (11:44):
Right.

Garry (11:45):
Right.

Amy (11:46):
That's why she wants to kind of kind of speed it up, or
so you think right, so you thinkso then we move over to the
camarena family, which is theonly family who hasn't come over
yet who hasn't come over allthe other.
Well, it's weird because theyshow the lens arriving, but then
I guess everyone just kind ofshows up right they're the only
ones that actually show cominginto the house.

Garry (12:07):
Right.

Amy (12:08):
And then I think they're the first to arrive, right.

Garry (12:11):
Yes, they are the first to arrive.

Amy (12:14):
And then, yeah, we go to the Camerinas and they, of
course, don't want to go.
No Right, is it, manny?

Garry (12:22):
Manny doesn't want to go.

Amy (12:22):
Doesn't want to go.
Right, kevin doesn't want to go, kevin doesn't want to go, and
Clarice, the mom, is trying toconvince her family to go Right
and at the same time Connie'strying to convince Chuck.

Garry (12:36):
Right.

Amy (12:37):
To go and invite them.
Yes, like they're the only onesnot here and they have this big
beef right, this big, who knowshow many years long beef.

Garry (12:46):
Yep.

Amy (12:48):
Especially around the holiday time, it seems.
And Chuck is like no, I'm notgoing to go do that.
And then the next scene isChuck on one side of the fence
and Manny on the other Right.
It's so cute.

Garry (12:58):
I mean the way they do this.
It is.
It reminds me of 10 to 2 man.
Because it reminds me of 10 to2 man.

Amy (13:05):
Home Improvement.
Yeah, Home Improvement where?

Garry (13:07):
they're talking to each other across the fence.

Amy (13:09):
Is it Wilson?

Garry (13:09):
Wilson, I think it's Wilson.
You only see Wilson's eyes.

Amy (13:14):
In Home Improvement Kind of reminded me of that, yeah.

Garry (13:17):
So they're sitting there talking and Chuck's like so did
the wife convince you to comeover here?
And say that he's like yeah, and then Chuck says my dude.

Amy (13:26):
Yep, yep.

Garry (13:27):
And then they start to laugh.

Amy (13:28):
It's kind of cool, it's kind of cool, because you think
they found like common groundand that their wives were
nagging them.
Right, that's common ground forhusbands, right?

Garry (13:38):
And Chuck's like Christmas truth.

Amy (13:39):
Christmas truth, yeah, Truth, and they shake on it
right and Mandy.

Garry (13:43):
Yeah and they what they shake on it right, mandy's like
one day.
We can have one day, yeah, andthey shake hands, which I
thought was pretty cool.
Right Way to bury the hatchet.

Amy (13:51):
Right, so they end up going over.

Garry (13:53):
Yeah.

Amy (13:53):
Right and Gabby and Katie kind of have a moment and
they're talking and I thought itwas kind of cool, because this
is a scene where Katie givesGabby kind of inspiration
because, Gabby kind of doesn'treally know what she's going to
do for her video, because shestill has to make her video.
She's under a timeline yes, heraudition video.

Garry (14:15):
Yeah and she's.
Yeah, she does give her an idea, which I thought was pretty
cool.

Amy (14:19):
Yeah, yeah it ends up because she's like look around.

Garry (14:23):
Look what, look at all the different families, look at
all the different families.

Amy (14:25):
Look at all the different, all the different foods.
Yes, yeah, I thought it wasbrilliant, it was really cool,
really cool.
All the different traditions, and we'll get to what they yeah,
what they say at the end of thevideo.
And then you see Chuck andRobert in the corner and Chuck

(14:47):
is asking Robert if the contractthat Connie had made them sign
was it legit.
Oh, that's right, becauseRobert's an attorney.
Right, yes, he's an attorneyand right, so Robert's like yeah
it is.

Garry (14:56):
And then Chuck's like, well, you think I can get my
money back.
And he's like look us lawyers,we don't give the money back.

Amy (15:01):
Yeah, we take the money.
We give you a service.
We take the money, no matterwhat the advice is.

Garry (15:08):
Yeah, it was pretty.

Amy (15:09):
It was kind of cute.

Garry (15:10):
It was.
That was a cute moment to throwin there.

Amy (15:12):
I thought so did.

Garry (15:13):
I, I like that, yeah, because I didn't think they were
going to wrap that up, but theydid.
That was pretty good.

Amy (15:25):
And then so then you, you have Lucy and Sylvie, are, you
know, trying to convince Annieto talk to Max?
And Annie is the teenager andshe's kind of you know, and Max
is a teenager and she's the onewho kind of kissed him quickly
in a selfie and was mortifiedafter that and because Max was
shocked but he wasn't angry.
But so they're going throughthis whole thing and so Lucy and
Sylvie are like trying toconvince her to talk to them,
and then, of course, theybrought their joy bars Right,

(15:46):
yeah, and everybody's excitedabout the joy bars.
right, they're the hit of theneighborhood.
Rebecca, being a vegan, she'slike are these vegan?
Are these vegan?
And?

Garry (15:56):
she's like no, and she's like I'll try one anyways, and
then comes back and grabsanother one which I thought was
awesome.
It's kind of cool, yes.

Amy (16:05):
So then you know it goes back to Nora and Theo, Right,
and I kind of had forgottenabout them for a minute.
You know, I was like I wonderhow they're going to end up.
At the party At the party atthe house.
And then Theo, who's too smartfor his own goods, sees two
coffee cups, yes, and he's likewhat the he thought it was Santa
Claus.

Garry (16:24):
It was Santa Claus At first.

Amy (16:26):
I know him.
And then what does she?
She tells him nora says no, itwas josh.

Garry (16:36):
And then theo gets excited.
He gets really excited.
He realizes that he hasn't leftyet and he has a gift to give
to him right because it does.

Amy (16:41):
He say something like he didn't get on the plane, or
something like he's still here,or yeah he gets.

Garry (16:45):
It's kind of cute.
Yes, that little actor is cute.

Amy (16:46):
Yeah, so he's.
So now we see that theo isexcited.
He says he has a present forjosh.
So now we see that Theo isexcited, he says he has a
present for Josh.
And now we know where they'reheaded.

Garry (16:55):
Yes, right, we sure do.
So we're bringing everybodytogether.
Yes, that must be a big housefor that many family members.

Amy (17:04):
Well, we'll talk about that in a minute when we get to the
later part.
Yeah, because I have somethoughts about that too.
Okay, but yeah, because I havesome thoughts about that too.
Okay, but yeah, it's agood-sized house.
So then you cut back to thehouse yes, and Grandma Lynn says
she's sick.
She's like what if I'm notaround next Christmas?

Garry (17:20):
I know.

Amy (17:21):
And then again they're all like no, you're fine.

Garry (17:25):
She's like it might be gas.

Amy (17:26):
Like it did.
They're all like no, you'retotally fine.
Then she calls Wally over toofficiate the wedding and she's
like in Chinese culture, youshouldn't say no to your elders.
That's right, you know.
And Wally is shaking his headlike no, don't tell her.
No.

Garry (17:42):
I know he's like on Nai Nai's side, he's like yep.

Amy (17:46):
Yeah, he's on Nai Nai's side.

Garry (17:47):
I love his character.

Amy (17:49):
He was so good in that role , yeah, yeah.

Garry (17:52):
And then you see Marcus, ted and Ella go back into the
closet to have that.
You know that pun moment.

Amy (17:59):
So they go, they have a family meeting in the closet
again.
Yeah Well, it's a pantry, butstill.

Garry (18:04):
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, it was kind of cute.
You're right, and they'retrying to figure out what to do.

Amy (18:08):
And then yeah, because they don't know what to do, because
now she's trying to push themarriage.

Garry (18:14):
Yep.
Right and they're all scaredand they're all scared because
they don't know.
That's so funny, so funny.
And then we have Robert andLinda again.
Yeah, they were talking on thecouch and they were reminiscing
about when they first met andwhen they were going to get
married, and he thought she wasgoing to have cold feet so he

(18:34):
sent the pastor home and Ithought that was a really good
scene.

Amy (18:39):
I thought that he had the minister start early.

Garry (18:42):
Was it start early?
Yeah, you're right.
Yeah, excuse me.

Amy (18:46):
Because she says something.

Garry (18:51):
She jokes about how it started early or something, and
then her dad said the same thingabout him.
He figured Robert would getcold feet.
Oh yes, Linda's dad.

Amy (19:02):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then it was kind of coolbecause then they have Evan.
You know, her much youngerboyfriend comes and sits in
between the two of them.
And then they talk about howthere's going to be a wedding,
because now they've heard thatthis wedding is going to go on
and Evan's kind of like what'sthe rush?

Garry (19:18):
Right.

Amy (19:19):
You know and here we just had this story about them who
you know, robert wanted to rushit because he was afraid Linda
was going to run off.

Garry (19:26):
Yeah, and that was a good scene.

Amy (19:29):
It's just in that moment, moment, you really see the
difference.
Yes, in age In the perception, well, not just age.
I mean, everybody has adifferent opinion about rushing
into marriage or not?
But it's just about thedifference in the mindset and
the perception.
So we kind of get a glimpse ofwhat might be coming there.

Garry (19:48):
Yes, right, yeah, yeah, and then we have Theo.

Amy (19:53):
Theo and Nora have arrived at the party right and.

Garry (19:56):
Theo sees Josh and calls out his name oh, that's so cute.
Says Josh, I have a present foryou.
And he hands him a drawing andJosh opens it up and it's a
drawing of the family and it wasso cute because Theo goes Stacy
, this is you.

Amy (20:13):
This is you.

Garry (20:15):
Stacy gives this look to Nora.

Amy (20:17):
Well, and I think Theo says you said you had a hard time
imagining what life was whenthey were trying to do the life
star Right.
And then he said this is whatlife is, yep.
And then you open it up andit's yeah, and it's all of them.
And it's real cute because Inoticed that the picture of Josh
is him in, like with the elfhat or whatever that he had on

(20:39):
in the carnival.
Yeah, I thought it was cute andthere's like a rainbow and it
was really cute.

Garry (20:44):
Yes, it was.

Amy (20:45):
It was really cute, yeah.
And then he does point out hey, stacy, that's you, because he's
trying to make her feel good.
But you know he really doesn'tlike Stacy.
Yeah, well, I mean he likes her, he likes her.

Garry (20:55):
He's a little kid.

Amy (20:56):
Yeah, yeah, but we know who Josh is going to end up with.

Garry (20:59):
Yes, we do so.
Then what happens next?

Amy (21:03):
Evan and Linda have a little chit chat.
Oh yeah, you know, I reallyappreciated this.
You know, evan basically saysto Linda it's obvious that she
and Robert are the real deal.

Garry (21:14):
Yeah.

Amy (21:14):
And that you know he's going to go pack his things and
I appreciate that.
You know Evan's like a good guy.

Garry (21:20):
Yeah.

Amy (21:21):
And he tells Linda, I'm not your forever guy.
Like I'm your for now, guy, I'mnot your forever guy and you
know they may have had some funand he got her out of her shell
a little bit.
She got to do some things, butI think it was just great that
he recognized that and wasn'tlike resentful or angry or you
know, pissed off, storming out.

(21:42):
I thought that they I reallyliked the way they handled that,
because that's adult, thatthat's, you know, someone
recognizing something.
And sometimes it's hard and youmight be hurt, but you know
it's for the best and I just Iappreciated that.
So then Evan leaves to go backto the Lewin house to pack his
things and he's not mad, he'sjust getting ready to leave.

(22:04):
Yeah Right, yeah.

Garry (22:06):
So and then we have Nai Nai, Nai Nai she because, connie
, and then we have Nai Nai.
Nai Nai, because Connie comesover and sits down and Nai Nai
says I'm okay, no need to make afuss, right?
And then Connie says somethinglike that's okay, I have a thing
too.

Amy (22:24):
And she tells Nai Nai her situation yeah, she might be
sick, she might be sick.

Garry (22:27):
She was waiting for results, she was waiting for a
call, yeah, and then Nai Naipicks up the phone and she's
talking to somebody it's not thedoctor, I'm assuming it's like
a receptionist or something andshe says you need to have the
doctor call or I will call himRight.

Amy (22:42):
Have the doc call her at home or I will or I will.

Garry (22:46):
Yeah, and I thought that was really funny.

Amy (22:50):
What's funny about that scene too, is that whoever on
the phone must have said I'llhave the doc call her.
And then you hear Nai Nai go.
Good choice.
Good choice you know, nai, naigot some friends in some hot
places.
Yeah, and then she hangs up thephone and she's like I give a
lot of money to the medicalcenter or wherever, and you know

(23:11):
, hey, money talks.

Garry (23:13):
Yeah.

Amy (23:13):
What if it can get you?
You know results quicker, so sobe it Right.
Right.
So we're kind of we know she'sprobably going to get a phone
call.

Garry (23:21):
Yes, we don't know when.

Amy (23:23):
Right.

Garry (23:24):
And then what's next?

Amy (23:26):
What's next?

Garry (23:27):
So Annie goes to talk to Max.

Amy (23:29):
Annie finds Max.

Garry (23:31):
And she tries to explain why she kissed him.
And then what happens?

Amy (23:38):
Well, he says the night at the stroll did freak him out a
little bit Right.
And then he kisses her on thecheek and he says that they both
feel the same thing and she'skind of like giddy, it's just so
cute, you know.
And then he's like look at this, does he have like an iPad or
something?

Garry (23:52):
Yes.
So then they just go on to dotheir little kid things, their
little kid things, like theyusually do when they were
younger.

Amy (23:57):
And then she's just, it's just kind of cool, because he
realizes he kind of likes hertoo, and then he just he kissed
her on the cheek so that wascute, that was, nothing had
happened.
Right.
And then we get to this scenewhere Ted sits down with his
grandma.

Garry (24:14):
He has decided that.

Amy (24:16):
You know he can't let the wedding go through with Marcus
and his sister Ella Yep.
So he sits down and he finallyjust says it.

Garry (24:26):
Yep Right and Nai Nai says I'm not a fool.
I may be old, but I'm not afool, I'm not blind.

Amy (24:33):
Yep, yep, nai says I'm not a fool.
I may be old, but I'm not afool, I'm not blind.
Yep, yep.
She says she knows Now.
My question is though do youthink she knew the whole time?
And then I mean, she had ashocked look on her face when
she saw Marcus and Ted kissingat the end of their family
episode.

Garry (24:51):
Right.

Amy (24:51):
But then it sort of seems like she's known, right.
I don't know.
She kind of gave thatimpression so I wasn't sure.
So was she putting them on inthat episode?

Garry (25:02):
It's really hard to tell because of her reaction to the
kiss, but it did seem like shewas pushing Ella and Marcus to
get married.

Amy (25:13):
To try to well, I don't know.

Garry (25:15):
But we'll never know.

Amy (25:17):
We'll never know.
But then you know, he asks, Ted, asks her if she's okay, and
she says no, that he broke herheart and he's like, oh, because
I'm gay.
But she's like no, not becauseyou're gay, but because you
weren't honest with me.
You weren't honest with me, andI've always been honest with
you that broke my heart.

Garry (25:36):
And what?

Amy (25:37):
do?
We always say Like, give peoplea chance.
You never know.
Now, some people don't change.

Garry (25:42):
Nope.

Amy (25:43):
There are some people who are you know tradition.
Well, bigoted and you know, andand and wouldn't open their
heart even to family member, toa son, to a daughter, which you
know we can't imagine, but Imean I just can't imagine doing
that.
But her thing was, you weren'thonest with me, like you felt,

(26:03):
like you couldn't, you know, tell me, and I'm kind of upset
about that, right, and I thinkshe was like legitimately upset.
She was and they didn't justwrap that up in that moment.
So then, so we kind of breakaway from that.
Yep, the grandkids come in andsay Dasher is gone, marvin and
Willow.

(26:24):
Yep Running in Dasher is gone, and so it's, and Chuck Dasher's
gone, right.

Garry (26:28):
And so it's.
And Chuck, oh my gosh, he putson his marine outfit.

Amy (26:32):
Yep, yep, now this is the llama.
Yeah, this is the llama, dasher.
The llama has disappeared,dasher.
Which I had totally forgottenabout in that moment.
Go ahead.

Garry (26:40):
And then Chuck Clark and Wally are outside and they have
walkie-talkies and Chuck'strying to tell them this is what
we're going to do, right, andwe're gonna, we're gonna go find
dasher.

Amy (26:52):
and then all of a sudden around the bushes comes well, go
ahead no, right before that Ithought it was hysterical when
chuck goes how this is not anall hands on deck situation is
beyond my comprehension, becausehe's so serious I thought that
was so funny.
But he's like, okay, all right,go ahead, and they go outside

(27:13):
to look so they go outside tolook and they're getting ready
to split up and divide anddivide and conquer and then
around the bush, bush hedge orwhatever.

Garry (27:23):
Kevin comes with the llama, right, right and the look
on chuck's face, so heapologizes to Kevin, yep, and he
tells Kevin, you know he'ssorry.

Amy (27:35):
Yeah.

Garry (27:36):
And he invites him into the house Into the house, yeah.
Kevin accepts.

Amy (27:41):
And Kevin goes in.
Now we have Kevin and they wrapthat up quickly.

Garry (27:44):
Yes.

Amy (27:45):
Like they found Dasher.
We're good, we're good.
Chuck's good they found dasher.
We're good, we're good, chuck'sgood, chuck's happy he's
apologized to kevin.

Garry (27:54):
Yeah, he's coming around a little bit, you know, and so
we move on and then we havemarcus, who tries to talk to
grandma lynn, you know it's sofunny.
They're all trying to talk tonina.
Yeah, grandma lynn.

Amy (28:04):
so and it's funny because he's like you he's speaking as a
therapist and he tells her thatmaybe she could loosen the bow
Right.
A little bit, you know like hebasically tells her you know,
maybe you had a hand in this,Like maybe he felt like he
couldn't tell you because youare the way you are.
You know, maybe there's alittle bit of a wall and then

(28:26):
she's like you're dismissed.

Garry (28:28):
I know Like bye.

Amy (28:33):
Yeah.

Garry (28:33):
Leave of a wall and then she's like you're dismissed.
I know like bye, yeah, leaveplease so good, so good.

Amy (28:37):
And then you have katie filming gabby, yes, and I'm
finally making the auditionvideo, right I?
Thought that scene was so goodand what she talked about well
there, it's so great because Ihadn't really thought about it
either.
Like they have all thesedifferent foods from different
cultures, the different families, the different traditions, and
they say it smells like heaven, feels like home.
And I was like that's so good, what a great line.

Garry (29:01):
Yes, the writers, boy the writers.

Amy (29:02):
Because you know when you go.
That's the thing about theholidays it's the scents.

Garry (29:06):
Yes.

Amy (29:07):
It's the baking, the cooking you know, whether it's
Thanksgiving or Christmas, oryou know whatever you celebrate.
You know you walk in and it'sjust that feeling.
It feels like home whenever youhave those scents.
I mean your sense of smell issuch a strong, you know it makes

(29:28):
such a strong connection forpeople for a lot of different
things, so I thought that wasreally really good.

Garry (29:34):
So yeah, so she helps gabby yeah, and did she say to
gabby what should I call you?

Amy (29:42):
or I can't remember because then maybe kevin comes in and
says sister and sister, oh, ordoes he just say sister?
Maybe?

Garry (29:53):
he says sister.

Amy (29:53):
I think he just said sister .
Maybe she does.
I might have zoned out on thatpart for a second.

Garry (29:59):
And then he puts the ring back on her finger.
He gives.

Amy (30:03):
Katie the ring back, so they're back on.

Garry (30:06):
Yes, he did Right.
Yes, so that's awesome.

Amy (30:15):
So now we have robert and linda, evan leaves, or evan
leaves evan leaves they watchhim leave and linda and robert
are left alone in the lewinhouse yes, in the bedroom and
then robert gives linda a gift.

Garry (30:25):
Yes, and it's two tickets to the Netherlands.

Amy (30:29):
To the Netherlands to see the Northern Lights.

Garry (30:34):
And Linda is so touched and so emotional at that point.
And was it Robert that calledit a second honeymoon?
I think so.

Amy (30:44):
One of them did One of them , said something about a second
honeymoon and he says he wantsher back.
And then they kiss and it's justkind of a cool.
You know, sometimes thingshappen like we talked about
before in a marriage, like whatshe say slowly, quietly, without
anyone noticing, right, andthen you know, robert has
realized what he missed, thesigns he didn't see, the things

(31:07):
he he didn't do, and so he'scoming back around and it's sort
of rekindling.
So she never really didn't lovehim, she just was tired of not
being noticed, right, and himnot viewing what she views as
important, as important, correct, right.
So I thought that was prettycool, that was a, you know, and

(31:27):
I like it.
You know, giving a shout out toa little.
You know older people?
Yes, you know, I mean we'reolder people.
I'm not calling them older, butyou know like love can happen
at any time.
Yes, right, it can come backaround, yeah, so I kind of like
that.
I appreciated that.

Garry (31:44):
I did too so then we go back.
We go back to the house andConnie gets the phone call.

Amy (31:50):
Connie gets a phone call.

Garry (31:52):
And they're all standing there like Waiting.
And it's good news, very goodnews the test comes back
negative.

Amy (31:59):
Woo, let it go, she's fine.
And Chuck says best Christmasever.

Garry (32:05):
Are you tearing up no?

Amy (32:06):
No, healthy mom.

Garry (32:07):
he says Healthy mom yeah, everybody cheers Yep, yep.
So then we have Stacy and Joshagain.

Amy (32:17):
Stacy and Josh.
Yes, oh, okay, yes.

Garry (32:21):
She comes out of the house and she says she talks
about the drawing and that it'snot her forever home.
And she realizes that it is hisRight.
And it's so funny because she'slike.
You know, we don't have to date.
We make such good partners.

Amy (32:38):
Yeah, so we'll be good partners.
She seems like she's very cutand dry, Like she's like okay
that's cool, she knows what shewants, right.
Well, yeah, and she says yeah, you're right.

Garry (32:50):
She says, says they can still work together right, and
yeah, she knows that it wasn'ther in the picture, you know.
And then, I think, nora'scoming up and stacy turns to her
and says you have a.
Really what was it?

Amy (32:59):
cool kid like something you have a really cool kid yeah,
nora kind of was like, yeah, Ido and then nora gets a phone
call and, and then Nora gets aphone call.
So that was a little odd, butyes.

Garry (33:10):
Yes, and then she rolls her eyes.

Amy (33:12):
She's like really yeah.

Garry (33:13):
Really so.
Then we cut back to Nai Nai.

Amy (33:17):
Yeah, she was like the star of this episode, I think.
She was in so many bits andpieces of it.
So she says you know, basicallyshe has an announcement for her
family, Right, basically shehas an announcement for her
family right it's not everyone,it's just the family.
And she's like you know theysay, the heart holds all the
emotions.
When there's too much fear, notenough love, the heart breaks.

(33:38):
And she's like Teddy you andMarcus are lucky to have found
each other.
And then that's when Teddecides they're going to get
married.

Garry (33:47):
Yes, right then Spontaneous.

Amy (33:49):
Because I think Grandma Lynn says she says something
like so, whenever you decide toget married, it's fine with me,
right, I'll be there with bellson or whatever, I'll be there to
witness it, right?
And then Ted's like well, Imean.

Garry (34:04):
How about now?
How about now?

Amy (34:05):
Yeah, and then Grandma Lynn says Wally.

Garry (34:09):
Wally, Wally comes up.
We're like what now?
He?

Amy (34:12):
goes.
What did I do so funny?

Garry (34:16):
She's, like the wedding's , back on it's back on.
And Wally's, like he gets onthe walkie talkie, starts saying
some stuff like we got awedding back on.

Amy (34:25):
Yeah.

Garry (34:26):
It was so funny.

Amy (34:26):
And then what's really cool is that you know they start to
decorate and everything and I'mlike they're doing a pretty good
job.
Like where did all this stuffcome from, exactly?
And that's what I was going tosay when you talked about the
big house.
I'm like the venue seemed kindof big to me in the backyard.

Garry (34:38):
Yes, that's pretty.
Yes.

Amy (34:40):
It ended up being like a decent size.
I was like what?

Garry (34:44):
Yeah, maybe they were on a half acre.

Amy (34:47):
Maybe I don't know, I don't know.
Yeah, it was a little while.
So they all start decoratingand then Nora has an
announcement that a tree was cutdown in a place that should not
have been cut down and Joshtakes the blame.
And Josh takes the blame eventhough it wasn't him.
It was the Camerina family whowent to the place that Katie

(35:08):
took them.

Garry (35:08):
Yes.

Amy (35:10):
But that's okay, but that's okay, that's all right.

Garry (35:13):
And then Josh ended up telling Nora that he likes her.

Amy (35:17):
Yeah, a lot, a lot.

Garry (35:20):
And then he's like what are my chances?
And she says 1%, 1%.
And he's like that's all I need, good man.

Amy (35:27):
And then he kisses and then they kiss right, and then he
kisses, and then they kiss Right, and then you find out.
Sylvie has invited Cole to thehouse which I hadn't thought
about.

Garry (35:36):
Cole, I know the whole episode Right Right.

Amy (35:39):
So Cole comes in and she's like Sylvie's kind of giving
Lucy a hard time about not beingspontaneous.
So then Lucy finally asks Coleout on another date right and he
accepts.
And then we finally have thewedding.
Yay, ted and marcus are goingto get married.
Ted is wearing the green outfit, outfit that his that nine.

(36:03):
I picked out.
His grandma lynn picked out, which is kind of cute wally's
wearing an ugly sweater whilehe's officiating.
That was so cute yeah.

Garry (36:11):
He gives an awesome speech he tears up oh my God.

Amy (36:16):
I thought it was really good though, because I mean it
kind of comes around to thewhole point, I think of this
series is that you know we allgather, we all come around,
we're ready for thepicture-perfect holiday, you're
gathering around the table withthe ones we love and you know
you prepare to celebrate somefamily traditions.
And then he's like sometimesit's not perfect.

Garry (36:35):
Right.

Amy (36:40):
I mean most of the time it's not perfect, right?
You have stuff go on and thenhe says something like it
doesn't go as planned.
But when it doesn't go asplanned we get moments like this
yes, that's the magic of theholidays, sometimes, if you just
let it go.
Yeah and he's, and I need totake it yeah, and that's he said
that's the magic I know.

Garry (36:53):
And then, while he's tearing, up as he's talking.

Amy (36:55):
He's like that's the magic of love, so it's.
It's kind of cute.
I mean it is.
It's holidays are, like what, perfectly imperfect usually, and
you have all these stories andand I don't know.
I thought it was cool that theyall were together in that
moment.
Right, the wedding venue.
And then they kiss, and thenthey kiss.

(37:16):
And then Chuck hits hisconfetti button and Everything
comes up, and they got the songplaying.
Yeah, so, and then, at the veryend, they take a.
They take a picture.

Garry (37:28):
Neighborhood picture, oh neighborhood picture, oh family
picture, which I thought wasawesome.
It was really cool From thebucket lift From the bucket lift
.

Amy (37:34):
Oh, is that where it was from.
I didn't even realize that.

Garry (37:37):
It was from that height.

Amy (37:38):
yes, the camera was probably on the bucket lift.
Yeah, the cherry picker.

Garry (37:43):
I do have to say one thing.
All right, say it I really lovehow the director and Stacey
Harding shot this episode.
Yeah, because it was alwaysfocused on one group, one family
, right, while all the otherfamilies were in the background
just having fun at the party.
And then it switched to anotherfamily and everybody else is

(38:04):
having fun.
I just love the way they shotthat Well done.

Amy (38:08):
It was seamless.
Yes, it was it really, reallywas seamless, just like the
first episode.
It was chaotic, but they did itso well and it went so fast and
there was so much, there's somuch going on, but you don't
feel like I never really feltlost.

Garry (38:23):
Yes.
You know, like I don't know andI didn't have a hard time
remembering who was whathappened prior.

Amy (38:30):
I mean, I might need a minute to like jog, but they
showed a little bit at thebeginning, like the previously
on.
So I definitely, you know, think that helped.

Garry (38:40):
And also a great job to the writers.
Yes, yes, there was three ofthem.

Amy (38:44):
There were three writers on this episode.
Yes, this particular episode,okay.

Garry (38:47):
And it was Claudia Grazioso, gina Matthews and
Grant Sharbo.
I'm sorry if I mispronounceyour names.

Amy (38:58):
We didn't say the writers and directors of the other ones
but maybe they wrote some of theother ones also.
I think they all wrote.
Yeah, I have a hand in allthese, but I just thought this
episode was so well done.
It really was, with all ofthose families in it.
Yeah, what do you think of theseries as a whole?

Garry (39:13):
five easily.
Yeah, I thought it wasbrilliant.

Amy (39:16):
Yeah, I mean well okay, are we doing ornament?
You said five, we're doingornaments okay no, yeah, I mean
you're right.

Garry (39:23):
I'm sorry.
What was your tinsel-toedmoment?
A tinsel-toed moment.
Have some more wine Sip sip, Idon't.

Amy (39:32):
My tinsel-toed moment for this episode would really be the
entirety of the episode.
How they wrapped it all up.
Yes, I really loved it.
Yeah.

Garry (39:42):
I know I really really it was really well done.

Amy (39:44):
I really loved it.
I loved the series.
I loved the beginning wascalled the Beginning and you get
a glimpse of everybody.
Yeah, it's a little frenetic,it's a little chaotic and you're
kind of like who's what andthen they break it down by
family.
These are very real issues forpeople.
They're very you know, some ofthem are non-homework.
You know like they're not whatyou would traditionally think of

(40:06):
a Hallmark film or series.
So I mean they really I mean itwas serious, but it wasn't like
so serious that it, you know.
But so it was good that theystarted to tackle those things
and I thought it was just a goodlook at.
You always have the neighborthat people can't stand.
You have the neighbor who putsup too much Christmas lights.

Garry (40:27):
Hello, that's us probably in our neighborhood.

Amy (40:35):
We do it for the kids, but they all love it, they all tell
us they love it anyway.
So I mean, we're, you know, decked to the nines, um, but I
just thought it was a goodglimpse.
Kids that grow up together feelawkward together, maybe have
history like the bullying.
I just thought it all reallyworked well and I would love to
see another.
You know, I don't know if theycould bring these, all these
families back, but maybe anothercul-de-sac yeah you know, I

(40:57):
don't know where they could go,but that's the genius of writing
right and directing.
So I just, I, loved it.
I, I loved it from start tofinish me too, no notes no notes
, no notes.
So out of five ornaments 100,100, five, five, me too.
Five, five, five.

(41:17):
So it's a total grand total of40 ornaments for me and 40
ornaments for you, right?

Garry (41:22):
heavy loaded tree yep, yep, yep all right.
So all right.
Is that a wrap for Christmas inJuly?

Amy (41:29):
That's a wrap.
Holidays, holidays.

Garry (41:32):
Yes.

Amy (41:32):
Yep, that's a wrap, all right.
