You're looking at me like Do wehave more to that or is that it
that?

was it.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Sorry, I love these.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
You're looking at me like Summer Nights.

Passport.
That works, I like the passportto love movies.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
I know, I know, yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
So it's time to drop the synopsis.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Are you ready for it?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I'm ready for it.
Are you ready?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yes, A murder leads Emily and Sam to a scavenger
hunt orchestrated by the victim.
End scene.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Oh, my goodness, that's the synopsis.
I was falling asleep.
That was so long, oh sure.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
well, we're probably going to give away some spoilers
, so we are if you have notwatched it already or last year.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Go watch it.
Come back and listen to ourpodcast.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Correct, because you will you will hear some spoilers
and you'll be like oh, I shouldhave watched it first.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Yes, so go watch it and then come back.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Or if you don't care and you just want to hear about
it, yeah, we're here for thattoo.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
We're here for that.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
So previously on the last episode, which was Peril of
the Bells, part 2.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Part 2.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
We solved the murder right.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
We right, we had a couple different resolutions
again.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Spoiler alert if you haven't watched it, go watch it.
We find out that Vera killedClara and Adam was poisoning
Debbie.
We find out that you know, emily, kind of let Sam in a
little bit more right she giveshim she sure did you know more
of the story of her parentsdying.
They get a little bit closeryeah, why Christmas?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
why Christmas is?

Speaker 1 (09:43):
so special to her.
And then, of course, we haveChimera, where Emily is trying
to have her computer run aprogram to find she refers to it
as him.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Right.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
So she keeps saying he in this episode.
So she's running a program andthen all of a sudden her
computer says I know you arethere and I will find you.
So that's where we left offCorrect?

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Am I forgetting anything?
I think you're good.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
And we're about to start a new murder, a new murder
, a new murder in this episode.
To start a new murder, a newmurder in this episode, yes, we
are.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
So all right, here we go, let's go, let's dive into
it.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
So it starts off with a party.
A party, they're whooping it upat the diner right.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Sue's diner, sue's diner sue.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
I like that we get to see a lot of sue in this
episode yeah, she's a funnycharacter yeah, yeah, we saw
this was kind of like it wasn'ther episode, but it.
She was in it a lot more, andwe heard her actually speak more
than two words or a sentence ortwo, right.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
So it's pretty cool, and what she does, it is kind of
funny.
Yeah, yeah, so we see glenn whois dressed in a santa claus.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
He's saying a clause at the part.
He kind of crashes the part.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Yeah, he kind of not really invited he just comes on
in, right and he and he handsout gifts yes, yes to certain
people to certain people yes, ahandful of people and then the
next thing, you know, we have aand you kind of find out right
away he sort of people are kindof shocked that he's there
they're not really sure whathe's doing there and he's kind
of like the the town curmudgeonyeah hence the humbug right like

(11:18):
the humbug the humbug.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Yeah, he's sort of you know but.
But I believe he's given thebooks to people right that he
likes, even though one of themmight be the murderer.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Might be.
We don't know yet, we don'tknow yet, we don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
So he gives out the books and then he ends up dead.
Yeah, I mean, you know, you goto a party, you hand out a gift
and then you die.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
And then you got your suspects, what happens?
And Sue was one of the mainones.
Right right, of course, sue.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
So the books gives out are like limited editions or
versions of the christmas carolright right so they each get a
book.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
A book that's the christmas carol, yeah, and emily
, she, when she first met glenn, had told her a story about the
christmas carol told him, I hadtold him about how her mom and
dad used to read her that bookand he said, well, what, what
was the cover like?

Speaker 1 (12:11):
and she described it and that was the book that he
actually gave her he found thatedition of it because it had
like a green cover and she, shewas kind of touched by that.
She's like he remembered Ithought that was kind of a cool
part yeah, yeah, I kind of likethat that was pretty good right
so.
So in each book you find outthat there is an invitation yes

(12:33):
to go see the attorney or anattorney.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
We don't know who it is.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
It's for them to show up, yeah, and I think does
Emily find it, and then she letseverybody know, or they all
realize there was one right, because when she goes to the
attorney, Well, she finds it,and then she asks everybody if
they also found one.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
And not everybody got a card in their book.
Okay, only about five people.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Well, that's all he handed out.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
I thought, no, I think there was more, but so
they all show up, and they allshow up at the law office, right
?

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Yeah, and we get a new character.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
What was his name?
Harvey?
Harvey.
Yes, Right, and we get a newcharacter.
What was his name?
Harvey?

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Harvey, right right.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Well, they're all there to watch a video that
Glenn left for them.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Well, you find out.
Okay, let's back up just alittle bit, because we're not
related Back it up, back thetruck up.
So who ends up with a book?
Brooke?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Brooke ends up with a book.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Fred, who is Glenn's nephew.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Yep.
Fred's wife goes, but she didnot get a book.
Um, fred, who is glenn's nephew, yep, fred's wife goes, but she
did not get a book.
Correct, correct, correct emily.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Emily gets a book.
Who'd?

Speaker 2 (13:41):
you say harvey gets a harvey.
Harvey gets a book and who isthe sue gets a book sue got a
book, but she threw it away shethrew it away she threw it away
because she does not like him.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
No, we'll find out.
We'll go back into that in alittle bit, okay.
But, she did not like Glenn atall.
Right and it's kind of funnythe reason why.
And then Noah, does he get abook?
Now, Noah is Fred's brother,Glenn's other nephew.
Right and he shows up later, but does he?

Speaker 2 (14:10):
yes, he gets a package.
He gets a package that has thebook oh wait, okay, right right
right, right, right, sorry.
Yes, so a little.
Yeah, I'm all over the place.
No, that's okay, we're all init to win it can we just talk
about?

Speaker 1 (14:25):
let's go back for a minute after glenn dies and sue.
Emily goes to talk to sue andshe's at her diner and she's
like why did he have to die hereLike Sue?
That whole scene cracked me up.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
She did say something .
And then she's like why is he,why does he think I'm a suspect?
And she says it out loud andEmily goes.
I don't know how dare he.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Yeah, she says can you believe?
Sam interrogated me.
That's what Sue said to Emily.
And Emily goes the nerve ofthat man, you know, because Sue
found Glenn.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
She was touching the murder weapon.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
I know.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
And she hates Glenn.
And it's no secret.
And they had a disagreement atsome point Right right.
We don't know why yet, but wefind out that she really just
does not like him that shereally just does not like him.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Yeah, because he said you don't have beans in chili,
in real chili.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
So she banned him from the diner.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
You think it's something serious, but it's a
bean.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
I know you think it's really deep.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
It's where you have a bean pie.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
And she was like of course there are beans in chili,
and so she's like I meant it.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
So she banned him.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Oh poor.
It kind of reminded me of, likeSeinfeld, the soup Nazi.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Oh yes, no soup for you.
No soup for you.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
That's what she did to him.
Well, she's a tough nut tocrack, isn't she that, Sue?

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Right.
So while they're all sittingaround in the office at the law
firm, she puts the key in or theUSB drive in.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Who does?

Speaker 2 (15:51):
The lawyer.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
The lawyer puts right , right, right, yes, because she
had the Right, the USB driveand so she plays it and or puts
it in.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Right and Glenn's on it and he tells a story.
So apparently he knew he wasgoing to die.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
See, I don't think so .

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Or he knew.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
See, I think, see, I was going to actually say this
at the end.
Okay, but since you brought itup.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Let's hear it.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
I actually don't.
I mean, I don't think he knewhe was going to die.
I think he was doing somethingand maybe he was going to leave,
Maybe, remember, because he hadfound out Right right.
You find out that he had beendiagnosed with something
Huntington's disease.
And so I think he did somethingfor the people that he liked in
the town.
That's what I believe.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
But I don't know, we haven't watched it.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
You might be right, you might be right, otherwise,
how would he know he was goingto die, unless somebody was
after him or something I don'tknow?
Well, that's true, that's justmy suspicion is.
I don't think he knew he wasgoing to die, and I think he set
this up for them to play right.
And when he said I'm gone, Ithink he was going to leave town
or leave that's what I think.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
I think you're right.
I mean, I don't know, we'llfind out, since they wrap it up,
but yes, yeah that's what Ibelieve yes, all right, I
digress sorry.
Okay, that's fine, you made agood point, so don't worry about
it so he he's on the video.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
He tells the story.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Right, and it's all about finding.
It's like almost a treasurehunt, right, right?
So they've got to figure outclues, right.
They have to work together.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Right.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
So you have four of the five books, right?
Because they don't know wherethe fifth book is yet.
So they have to work togetherto solve this, right, so they
have to work together to solvethis.
But because Fred, or Glenn, ishis uncle, fred's kind of
hesitant, because you know, thebooks that are in that store
that are first editions, aretheir inheritance.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Right, and Glenn says there's going to be a big prize
at the end if you figure thisall out.
Right, and the books are gone.
The books are missing fromtheir cases, the the ones that
are worth, especially the firstedition.
Right, it's right, it's a lotof money that's gone, but fred's
wife doesn't want to play thegame because she thinks fred and
her deserve all of the moneyright that would come from that
would be generated by thosebooks yeah morgan, those, those,
those additions, yeah, of thechristmas carol, but you know
that's fair.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Right, what's fair.
The books have been in thefamily forever.
I mean you would think youwould be next to glenn no, I
disagree.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
You can do whatever you want.
When it's your property, glenncan do whatever he wants with it
.
You don't have to leave stuffto family if you don't want to
all right maybe he doesn't likeglenn's wife well, you know or
not glenn's wife.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I'm sorry, maybe he doesn't like fred's wife, maybe
glenn doesn't like his nephewwhy, I don't know, could be, she
could be, so let's talk aboutthe elephant in the room that
was the elephant in the roomharvey harvey shows up right
while they're at the attorneythey're at the attorney office
and everybody's like, who areyou?

(18:56):
Right, right, they don't knowright, and apparently he knew
Glenn back in the day in thecity because Harvey owned a hot
dog stand and that's where theyused to Glenn used to pay him in
books, so that's where Harveycomes in.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
How did he get his book?
Do we know yet?

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Well, we don't.
He didn.
That's where Harvey comes in.
How did he get his book?
Do we know yet?
Well, we don't.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
He didn't say anything right?

Speaker 2 (19:16):
We just assumed that Glenn mailed it to him Right?

Speaker 1 (19:17):
We don't know, but we don't know.
He just shows up at the meetingbecause he had the invite and
the book Right Right right, okay, okay, so we have Fred Harvey,
emily Brooke.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
And Emily.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Brooke and Brooke that are there.
Those are the four.
And there's one book missing.
Yes, because we don't know whohas it yet.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Not yet Right Right.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
So and Glenn says they're going to go on, he wants
them to do this scavenger typehunt.
Yes, to find these clues.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Right, okay, yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
So, and we also find out that Fred's mom also had
Huntington's disease.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Yeah right.
But, that'll come up in aminute, and that Glenn took care
of her.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
That Glenn took care of her, all right.
So in one of the clues ittalked about you know back in
the day torches, and Emilyfigures out what the clue means,
what torch means.
And torch back in the old daysmean meant like a flashlight,
right.
So she figured out, because theclue talked about shine the

(20:18):
torch on, I was at scrooge orsomebody I kind of was right,
right, right and so I would needto watch it again to see
exactly what that clue was.
We're bad I know, I know, butshe's been hunters of killers.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
That's okay.
That's okay, but she figureswe're bad hunters of killers.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
That's okay, that's okay.
Well, she figures it out and soshe goes and she grabs the UV
light that you use to checkmoney right To make sure money
is not counterfeit.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
She always has these light bulb moments.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
I know, yeah, yeah, which I like about this show
yeah, it's cute.
So she goes through the pagesand she shines the light and, lo
and behold, a word shows upright.
So she contacts everybody elsethat has a book so that she can
find out what word is in theirbook, what all the words are
yeah, because it's come to findout.
It's three words in each book, right?

(21:05):
so we find that out right rightright and in the meantime, um,
they wanted to get together atthe under the mistletoe store
and figure out what all thewords mean, because you have to
rearrange them to figure outwhat it is Right.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Right.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
So, but Glenn doesn't want to play that game, right.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Right.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Or not, glenn Fred.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Glenn is dead.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Yes, glenn is dead, glenn is dead.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Drop dead Fred.
He's taking a dirt nap.
Oh man, a dirt nap.
Yeah, glenn is dead.
Any hoot, any hoot.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Emily convinces Morgan, which is Fred's wife, to
give up a book so they canfigure out this puzzle.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Right, and it kind of sounds like, though, Fred,
because he comes in and he'slike, what does he say?
He says Morgan decided, andthen he goes well, we decided.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
We're going to participate.
So we know who wears the pantsBecause they were not going to
help at all with the book andthe words and everything.
So they get.
So Emily writes down all thewords together on index cards.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Index cards yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Yeah, and then they put them up on a board and then
it's time.
So there's supposed to be atotal of 15, right?

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Right?
I think so, because there werethree in each book and there
were five books, but they onlyhave 12.
Right.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
So they know there's going to be a gap.
So the trick is puttingtogether what the words are
supposed to say without three ofthe words.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
And that was a fun scene yeah, yeah, it really was.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
So they're all trying to maneuver them and right, and
there's music, scramble them.
And there's christmas music.
They're like, wait, put thishere.
What about under the mistletoe,or whatever?
You know, they're moving themaround.
So that was.
That was really cute.
And then they what?
When they come up with whateverthe phrase is and I didn't I
should have written it down, didyou?
no, I didn't write it downbecause we'd have to stop it and
write it down I should havewritten it down, because then,
once they're done, sam's like,it sounds like we're almost

(23:04):
there you know, because they'renot quite there, they're missing
words yeah, yeah yeah, that was.
That was a really cute and funscene and they're all working
together.
Yeah, you know trying to figurefigure out what the clue is
supposed to be.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Exactly so then we find out who Noah is right.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Right After that.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Is it after that scene?
Yeah, yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
So they're walking back to the store because they
figured out that there's anotherclue that might be in a book in
the store and I can't rememberwhat was the name of the book.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Now, did they get that from the sentence or no?

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Yeah, they got it.
I think they did.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Why is my memory like ugh?
I know what are you doing.
We just watched it.
What happened?

Speaker 2 (23:45):
We just watched it, it's crazy, but there was
another book that was somewhereon a shelf in the bookstore.
So they all start walking thatway and fred goes to unlock the
door but notices that it's open.
But emily and sam noticed thatthere's a car and emily said
that's the car that wasfollowing me.
So when they looked inside theysaw an invitation.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
No, that's the car she saw at the restaurant,
pulling away yes, at therestaurant before she realized
glenn had been murdered, correct?
She thought she saw Glennleaving the restaurant because
somebody in a Santa costume ranout and Emily followed him out
of the restaurant and the partybecause she thought it was Glenn

(24:28):
, yes, and she was going to goafter him.
And she saw the car right andthen the car sped off and now we
see the car in front of thebookstore of.
Glenn's bookstore and we don'tknow what's going on yet, but
apparently it's Noah.
Right, it's Noah who is Fred'sbrother yes, older brother and
Glenn's other nephew.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Yep Right, and we also find out that he left when
they found out their mother hadHuntington's disease.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Huntington's yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
But we don't know why he left.
Other than that Correct.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
So she got sick and he left and Glenn took care of
her while she was sick until shepassed away Right, right, right
.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
And then we find out in the meantime that Sam has a
folder on Emily, right, yeah, wefind that out a little bit
later, right?

Speaker 1 (25:22):
No, that's around the same time.
Oh, okay, yeah, that he'sinvestigating her apparently.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
So we don't know why yet, but I'm sure we're going to
find out.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Right and he says it's because she was there the
night that Glenn got murdered,he's got a file on her for that
reason.
He has a file on every suspectallegedly Right.
That's what he tells hisdaughter, Correct?
Because, she's like oh, look atthis folder.
Why are you investigating Emily?
Exactly, but we don't know, wedon't know, we don't know, we
don't know.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
So then they arrest Noah.
He has to spend the night injail and while he's being
investigated because they thinkhe murdered you know, glenn.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
He might have murdered Glenn Right Right.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
He tells him how he got the invitation Right.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Is that when he says he received a package, it had a
key in it, which was to thebookstore.
Right, why he was Right.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Right, so that.
And then he also had the santaclaus suit, because whoever ran
out of that restaurant thatnight uh discarded the suit.
Right, he picked it up becausethat was the suit that glenn
used to uh wear when they when, when they were little, when fred
and noah were little so hepicked it up and allegedly he's

(26:35):
saying it's not mine it was sortof planted.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
you know he picked it up, but he's not the one who
killed him, even though it's gotblood splatter on it and
everything else Right.
And they arrested him becausehe broke it.
Well, they think he broke in.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Right.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
To the, to the bookstore, but then they find
out that he actually broke intothe law office.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Right.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Because the law office, right, because he's like
I didn't do that, I didn't dothat.
And then Sam holds up the, theUSB from the law office and he's
like what about this?
And he's like, okay, I might'vedone one bad thing, which was
kind of funny.
Cause he was like no, no, no,all right, you got me on that
one.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Maybe In the meantime , fred goes back to the
bookstore and apparently hefinds the next clue, right,
right.
That's why he, when they wereat the police station, he
thought his brother was going toget released that night, but he
didn't.
So Emily goes and sits downwith him and he tells Emily I
went back to the bookstore and Ifound this.
It was on the book on the backcover.
What book?
I can't remember.
It was on the book on the backcover.
What book?
I can't remember the name of it.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
It was the Night Before Christmas and it was
because Glenn used to read thatto him.
Right so he figured out thatthat's where the next clue was.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
So they have another USB that presumably Glenn
recorded right.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
And then she's like did you watch it?
And he's like no, of course not.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
And he's like no, of course not this is a group
effort, a team effort, which Ithought that was cool.
So I'm really hoping it's nothim, because he's cool.
Yeah, I don't think it's goingto be him.
Yeah, I really don't.
And so I guess, as Emily'swalking home that night, she
almost gets run over by an SUVRight Right.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
And we don't know but she does a stop, drop and roll
type.
She really does yeah, yeah andshe kind of gets up yeah, it
looks like she may have hurt herwrist, but she jumped out of
the way.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Yeah, so she's showing her skills again.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
I mean her mad skills .

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Well, I don't know she hit the ground pretty hard.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
That would hurt.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Yeah, it would hurt.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
And and she was like rubbing her wrist or whatever.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
So, so, yeah, I mean, I don't know who do you think
did it.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
I'm telling you right now I don't know, I don't have
a clue either.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
I don't have a clue, I don't think it's going to end
up being Noah or Fred.
I just I don't think it can be.
I hope it's not anyway, I willbe so disappointed if it is.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
And I was trying to look at who was still at the
party, because it had to havebeen somebody that was already
there, right?
At the diner, yeah at the dinerthat night, don't you think?

Speaker 1 (29:03):
I would presume so.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
So I kind of tried to look at all the characters and
I couldn't figure out.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Because we find out that Noah was at the party.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
But we didn't see him at the beginning.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
And I don't know because he said.
Well, he says he was there tosee his brother, right, not his
uncle, but his brother but hewas too afraid.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
But he was too afraid , I mean, was he?

Speaker 2 (29:24):
I don't know how about that toothpick scene?
Toothpick scene?
Yeah, what emily?
I think she's narrating and shetalks about the toothpick and
how food always tastes better ohyes, when it's on, when it's on
a toothpick, and then brookecomes up and she says that exact
same thing yep, yep, and brooke, her and brooke.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
And that's another scene where she kind of in the
last episode, you know, she getscloser to brooke even though
she doesn't want to, but andbrooke is like hey, how you
doing?
She's like hi, again in thisone, which I think is so funny
and I, you know, kind of hopingthey end up becoming friends,
even like Emily's doing itreluctantly, but Brooke is so
like hey, come over here, friend.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
What are?

Speaker 1 (30:06):
you doing, you know.
So it's kind of cool.
I'm digging it, I'm digging it.
I just don't know who did it.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
I don't know who did it and I really like I said
earlier, I like sue in this one, like when she says glenn's
ghost, I dare him to haunt.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
You know like she's so, like she's so mad that he
died in her diner.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
It's, it's kind of funny she said on the busiest
time of the year, right so whatelse?

Speaker 1 (30:29):
so we ended up with um, someone tried to run emily
over.
Sam has the file on emily.
Yep, right, someone's takingpictures of emily, yes, and we
don't know who or why that isyep um, I don't think that glenn
knew he was going to die.
I'm going to stand by thatuntil I think you're right on

(30:51):
that one.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
I think that might that was a good catch, because I
didn't even think and I reallydon't know who did.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
I don't know who I think did it, unless it could
have been harvey.
Maybe he stiffed harvey at somepoint, because we don't really
know his character yeah yeah, and we don't know his
relationship right, he kind ofjust shows up, so maybe it's
harvey for some reason it's sofunny because everybody's like,
oh okay, they like took his word, they did.

(31:16):
He just came in and it was likehey, how you doing?
They just trusted that he was.
Of course he did have a book.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
He did have a book.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
And he's such a jolly dude right, Like he's always
happy.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Did I miss Noah's book with the words Do we have
those words yet or no?
So we need to get those threewords right then.
Okay, and we're sure that thesentence didn't lead them to the
one clue to fred realizing itwas the night before christmas.
Or did that just come aboutbecause they were talking about

(31:48):
something?

Speaker 2 (31:48):
I think they were talking about it okay, I think
they were talking about it.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
I think you're right that makes us bad sleuthers.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Let me show that won't happen again.
We'll make sure that won'thappen again.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
We'll make sure that won't happen again.
Right, right, right.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
We're kind of over the game a little bit there was
one scene I wanted to mentionbecause it reminded me of you,
of me, yes.
Emily tells Violet, as she'swalking out, that she just made
Employee of the Month and Violetsays, oh, thank you of the
month.
And violet.
Violet says oh, thank you, andthen she goes.
Wait a minute, I'm the onlyemployee and emily turns around

(32:21):
and kind of smirks.
Yeah, she's kind of funny, youalways say um to the kid, to the
kids to my son yeah yeah, oh,you're my favorite son and he's
like he always goes wait aminute.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
I am your only son.
I'm your only son.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Yeah, he's an adult now and he still says it.
Yeah, that's pretty funny.
So I thought that was a funscene.
We do say that I'll go.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Thank you, You're my favorite son.
Thanks for doing that for me,and he's like you're my only son
Violet.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
as an actor, I think she does a really good job.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
I like her a Personality is good and Emily
with the one-liners yes.
And we got, like I said, Suecoming around with her stuff and
it was a pretty good episode, this one.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
She keeps manipulating Sam Emily does it's
so funny.
But I don't see, I don't viewit that way as much I mean, I
think she's Not manipulating, but she gets her way with them
Because now she's kind of youknow, she's open about what
she's doing.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
She just like when they were going to go
interrogate.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Was it when they went to the attorney?
So, they find out someone brokeinto the attorney's office and
Emily's like I want to go andSam's like absolutely not.
And then they go to the nextscene and Emily's there.
You said she's going to be showup, because they just show Sam
talking to the lawyer.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
There she is standing there and I just laughed, I
laughed.
I was like you're right.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Yeah, that was pretty funny when she so I don't view
it as much as manipulation.
As she's got these skills, shecan use them, and I guess she is
manipulating a little bit whereshe's like, hey, how about I
look into this?

Speaker 2 (33:53):
And it.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
It reminds me of um.
There's a scene and I'm notgoing to quote it directly in my
big fat Greek wedding, and Idon't know if you remember this
or not, but the mom so they'retrying to get Tula Tula really
wants to go to school and itwould be up to her dad to say,
yes, you know, so she can leavethe restaurant to go work and
they don't know how to approachit.
And the mom is like you know,he's the head but I am the neck

(34:17):
and I can make.
You know, I can turn itwhatever way.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
I want you know to make it work after they, they
make it.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
So then Tula's aunt and her mom make the dad think
it's his idea.
You know they're like to theaunt don't you need help in the
shop?
And the aunt is like, yes, Ineed help.
What am I going to do?
You know she gets reallydramatic, it's just so that's
what that reminds me of.
And then you know afterwardsshe's like Tula.

(34:44):
you know he might be the head, but I am the neck you know and I
can turn it however I want sothat's but that's kind of like
Emily she's, she's getting herway in, she's doing what she
does, she knows how to do rightright, right so I can't find.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
I can't wait to find out actually what her past I
know.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
I wonder how much more we're going to learn
because they didn't know theywere getting a season two when
that, when the final episode,aired.
So or I don't think, I'm prettysure they didn't um at that
time, because I think thathappened relatively recently in
the past several months but um,so I wonder how they wrap stuff
up, or if they did or didn't, orif they left it open hoping

(35:22):
they would get a season two.
So I want to listen to theactual podcast too but, I don't
want to, because I don't wantany spoilers.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
We'll listen to it after we're done.
Yeah, we just got one.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
Or they do have a second season coming, all right.
So what was your tinsel toppedmoment?
You had to choose one.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
When they were under the mistletoe store.
Doing the yes Doing the wordsthat they found trying to put
them together, but I also hadanother one.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
What's the other one?

Speaker 2 (35:53):
The one where Brooke was outside doing yoga.
Yes, what?

Speaker 1 (35:55):
does she call it?
I have a snoga Snoga, snoga,snoga.
She's doing yoga outside in thewinter and she calls it snoga.
Yes, yes, I had that as my.
Those two would have been mytinsel top moments.
I couldn't pick one, but Iloved both of those scenes.
She's like do a tree now orwhatever, hang an ornament, and
then she makes Emily do it.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yes, Emily, do it.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Yes, emily didn't go out.
She went out to talk to Brooke, and then Brooke is like come on
now.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Get on the mat.
And did you notice, when Emilymade it back to the store her
hair was kind of messed up Likeshe had been working out, she
ended up doing yoga.
Yeah, it was good, that wasgood.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
I'm glad they did that.
Yeah, it was really good.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
So, out of five ornaments, what would I'd give?
This?

Speaker 1 (36:33):
I'd give it a solid four yeah me too.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
I thought it was good .
We got a new mystery.
I, as usual, have no clue whodid it, just taking shots in the
dark.
I have no basis for it excepttaking a shot in the dark.
So what about you?

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Ooh, maybe it's Fred's wife, maybe.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Could be.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Yeah, maybe it's her.
Could, be Because?
Could be Because she didn'tseem like she wanted to give
that book up.
Is that a wrap?

Speaker 1 (36:57):
That's a wrap.

Yes, I think it is All right.
