Well returning into
Barcelona.

Alejandro Taos as Nico.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Those three, and if
you want to hear more about them
, go listen to the verybeginning of To Barcelona With
Love, and we go into detailabout their work as actors Some
of their work anyway not all ofit.
We go into detail about theirwork as actors Some of their
work anyway, not all of it.
Also appearing in this one, toBarcelona Forever, miguel Broca
plays Javier.
He's a Spanish actor as well.
(01:54):
I didn't see any other Hallmarkwork for him.
They do have his IMD in bothmovies, but I don't remember him
from the first one.
Was he in the first one?
He wasn't in the first one.
Okay, maybe it's wrong, I don'tknow.
Unless we blinked and missed him, could be Some of his other
work includes Mia Esla Ven Gaza110 episodes in 2023,.
(02:14):
Love at Mariposa Beach in 2022,and Dos Vidas 73 episodes in
2021.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Sweet.
Paloma Monteiro plays RosaJavier's mom Sweet, okay, sorry,
(02:42):
and nothing.
I got nothing.
We had a brain.
She had some other work A lotof it is in Spanish, and I don't
want to embarrass myself toomuch, so I tried to focus on
when it was translated toEnglish on IMDb.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
in the titles I tried
to go for those just because I
can pronounce that, hopefully,right, right.
That's okay.
Jose Emilio Vera plays CarlosJavier's dad.
This is his Hallmark premiere.
Some of his other work is youknow, were Spanish productions,
so, like I said, I'll say theones that were translated on
IMDb Bank Under Siege he was inone episode in 2024.
(03:18):
Alpha Males one episode in 2024.
And the movie Rainbow in 2022.
Rainbow okay.
Alex sorian brown plays miguelmiguel.
now he actually works in spainand la and this is his first
hallmark production, and some ofhis other work includes one
(03:38):
episode of the heights in 2024which is pretty popular the
movie Evan Wood in 2021, whichwe did not see, and Holy Family
in 2023.
And I think that might be onNetflix.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Holy Family.
Holy Family, yep.
Never heard of it, yep.
So is it time to drop thesynopsis.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I think we should
drop the synopsis All right.
As Anna travels back toBarcelona, reuniting with Erica,
to celebrate her engagement toNico, she meets a charming
farmer and accidentally findsherself engaged that's in quotes
to save his family's legacy.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yes, that was funny.
So what did you think aboutthis one?
Speaker 1 (04:18):
So, yes, that was
funny what I read, or the movie,
or what do you mean?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
No, no, the movie
itself when she meets the family
.
Yeah, it was pretty cute, itwas funny what I read.
Or the movie, no, no, the movieitself when she meets the
family yeah, it was pretty cute,it was funny.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
I actually I want
more Ashley Williams and Alison
Sweeney.
Yes, me too I want moreAlejandro Taos and Miguel Broca.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Because they were
great in it, as Nico and Javier,
and I loved Javier Santos, theone who plays.
He plays Allison's best friend.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yes, mateo, yeah,
okay.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah, so I want just
all of them together would be
fabulous.
I'd love maybe we could have amovie where they all get
together and they try to set up.
Yeah, Mateo.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
That would be kind of
cool.
He'd be like the next loveinterest.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I just think it'd be
so cool.
I want more.
I want more.
I've just thoroughly enjoyedthese two films and I'm so glad
we got them back to back.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah, me too.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
I thought it was kind
of a cool way to do it and I
loved that they started inBarcelona but they filmed in
another city.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Right, bilbao, bilbao
.
Bilbao it another beautifulcity yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
So we got to see a
little bit more of a serious
side of anna, the character thatashley williams plays.
Um, she's still quirky and funwith all the one-liners, but
she's just a little more serious, not as exuberant as she was,
as she was in the first one, which I think is cool because
her life has taken, you know, aturn and I love that you know.
She's trying to find who she isstill as a writer and she's
really trying to make the what?
(05:47):
the food blog right or writingwork and so she's kind of
cracking down a little bit and Ithink that shows in her
character this time.
I love the friendship betweenerica and anna yes and ashley
and allison just play it soperfectly.
They play so perfectly off ofone another and I agree with
that.
You agree with that.
Play so perfectly off of oneanother.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
And I agree with that
too.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
You agree with that
too?
Yeah, so, and I, you know, Ilove the realistic look at
getting what you want but thenactually having to execute it,
like Erica gets the book dealand then she's like crap, I
actually have to write something.
Isn't that funny, she's beenwanting one, and then it's like,
oh my God, not that she can'tdo it, but then it's like it
smacks you in the face, right.
So all right, I have one more.
What did you think I have?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
one more thing that
I'll say, but I don't want to
hog the time Before I get to it.
Isn't it funny how, in thefirst one, Anna was having the
writer's block and Erica waslike, just do it.
You just got to do it.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Yes, that's exactly
right.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Find your passion.
So Anna finds passion in thisone, right or at the end of the
first movie, right In this one,and she's doing her thing, and
Erica now has the writer's block.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Right, right.
She can't think of what towrite, she can't start, she
can't even, yeah, start.
And Anna is telling her justwrite, just write.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Just write, just do
it.
You know you gotta overcomeyour limit, but I really love
this one.
I liked how they stayed withthe culture.
I like how the scenery, themusic, because you know music
can tell the story too Agreedand it can set the mood.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yes, definitely, and
it did in this one a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
There was a lot of
scenes that I really enjoyed
just by listening to the music.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
And you know, I just
put those two together.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Ashley, and yeah, and
like you, ashley and Allison, I
would like.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
That would be awesome
if they did one and they set up
a tail.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
I'm hoping we get
more next year or a.
Christmas one.
Oh, that'd be so good.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Hallmark, you got to
do one To Barcelona for
Christmas, or to Barcelona.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Sleigh bells, I don't
know Something.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
We got a high five on
that one High five.
Yes, that would be awesome.
Give me my wine.
We should do that one.
Take a sip.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Yes, that was good.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Yeah, you said you
had one more thing.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
No, I was just going
to say that I really, really
love that.
It's such a realistic look atlife after 40.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Like it doesn't end
right.
Marriage may not have happenedyet.
You may or may not have kidsand you can still be trying to
find.
You know your place in life.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Goodness knows, we're
all still trying to find that
right.
Figure out what we want to dowhen we grow up?
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yes, we are.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
You know you're
trying to find your place where
you want to be, what you want todo and how.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
love and friendship
are cornerstones of our lives,
regardless of age.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
And so I just love
that message in the films both
of them really.
You know know, there's thatsaying you're not too old and
it's not too late I agree andthat is so true.
I mean, look at us, we'restarting a podcast exactly.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
We are not young.
No, we're not gonna give ourage, but we're not young.
But if you've been listening tothe podcast, you would know
what you would at least say itright, right, right and we did
post our pictures so I just Ithink the messaging messaging is
very cool throughout bothmovies.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
I do too, you know
things don't always happen in a
timeline like stereotypicallyhappens.
You know, Everyone's path isdifferent.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
And they made a
movement.
Yeah, we all make mistakes andwe all learn from it.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
And I wanted to
mention you know, ashley and
Allison have a podcast, and tomention you know, ashley and
allison have a podcast and theyhave their six, six episodes and
go listen to them.
We've listened to four, yes,and you'll get some wonderful
behind the scenes little notes.
And we we talked a little bit, Ithink in the last episode,
about some of the anecdotes thatthey shared, and I don't want
to share too much because I it'scalled mia more yes with ali
(09:21):
sweeney and ashley williams andjust go and listen and check it
out and you know they are likethey are there, who you love who
you know and love from Hallmark, and there's no fakeness there.
Right, right and just thestories that they tell.
It's so cool and I love thebehind the scenes look at things
, so it's very cool.
And also, if you check outAshley Williams' Instagram, she
(09:42):
did a I think she did a livewith what is it?
With the actor who plays Javier.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Javier, what's his
name?
Where are you?
Javier Miguel Broca.
Yes, yes, miguel Broca.
I'm sorry, I drew a blank therefor a second.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
And it's so fun and
so cute.
And, ashley, is you just?
Speaker 2 (10:03):
go and watch it.
Her facial expressions on thatare so great.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Go and watch her
Instagram.
Live with Miguel Broca.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
And he's great too in
it and funny.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
He's funny.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
And he counters her.
Funny, it's really good.
Yes, please go Please go,please go.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
We just love, love,
love them.
You know her kids have fun too.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Oh my gosh, yes, can
you imagine?
Speaker 2 (10:28):
and her laugh, is it?
Speaker 1 (10:29):
her laugh is
exuberant.
You know I talked andcontagious, contagious laughter
and yeah, so we just love themand yeah, there you go, some
favorite scenes yes that you hadand I love behind the scenes
too.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
I like how they do it
, how they tell you how they did
a shot oh yeah, because you'realways wondering wow that's
pretty cool.
How come you never see them inthe reflections?
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Right, right, how did
they?
Speaker 2 (10:46):
do that at the right
angle.
But they tell you.
Yeah so go listen to it.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Well, and Allison has
this story about the gondola at
the beginning the opening shot,oh, the opening shot of this
one.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
And how they shot
that.
So go our podcast and we won'ttell you what she says.
Right, right, it's a reallygood story.
Yeah, oh, but by the way, we dodo spoilers, so we just want
you to stop.
Go go watch the movie, thencome back and listen to us.
I just wanted yeah, we aregoing to get.
We do talk about things thathappen in the movie, even though
technically hallmark spoiledthis one.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
The last movie yeah,
they did.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
During the commercial
they did show that n.
Proposes Proposes.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
I'm not giving a
spoiler.
Hallmark did it.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, hallmark did it
In the last movie and they
didn't even call us up and sayspoiler alert.
Not that we didn't know it wascoming, but yeah yeah, so it's
fine.
It's fine.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
You kind of know
that's where it's headed anyway,
talk about let's talk about themeet cute first.
Do you want to?
Speaker 2 (11:43):
go me a mr deeds.
You know, he just pops up outof nowhere and, mr deeds, he
always scared her like he wasjust there and she was like, oh
yeah, that's how in mr deeds andum adam sandler oh, the adam
sandler.
Okay, okay, yeah, but anywaysno, I thought it was really cute
(12:05):
, I really did.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Right.
So she's in a cafe, she's in acafe and she's trying the best
saffron in the world.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Right, and she's
trying it, and then she goes to
buy it.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Right, and then the
cost kind of shocks her.
So she's like, does it comewith a private chef?
Yes, for the cost.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
That was so funny.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
That was really funny
, and Javier, his family, is the
one who makes.
Yes, they're famous for thisparticular saffron, and so
that's when they first meet andit's really it's really good I
really enjoyed that yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
And Anna and her
facial expressions.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Oh, my goodness,
she's so good.
Yeah, when she said doesn'tcome with a private chef, she
signed up for that she is thequeen of that.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
So what are some
favorite scenes?
What did you get?
Speaker 1 (12:53):
um, I loved anna and
javier in the restaurant, so
when they, that's after the meetcute right right and they're
sitting separately at first in alittle restaurant.
And she's trying it right forher blog and for her food stuff.
And then they end up sittingtogether, yeah Right.
And then he mentions that whenthey go to do a cheers with the
(13:18):
wine, lots of wine.
In this movie by the way, ohyes.
We love the wine, one of thereasons I enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Love the wine you.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Oh, yes, we love the
wine, one of the reasons I
enjoyed it.
Love the wine.
You got to give a shout out tothe wine in this movie.
Yes, that might be one of mycheers, but anyway.
So he mentions that they dothree clanks.
Yes, they do three quick onesOne, two.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
I can't remember what
they said.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
It's for the
traditions of the past.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yes, which I thought
was Once.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
So, once for the
traditions of the past, once for
the gratitude for beingtogether in the present, in the
present and once for the healthand happiness of the family in
the future.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
How cool is that?
I love that.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah, so we decided
we're going to cheer three times
.
We're going to claim, we don'thave to say all that we're going
to clean three times.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
We do it once, but
we're going to go for the three
Past, present and future.
Yeah, I thought that was reallycool.
See, the culture, that's whatI'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
The traditions, I
just love it yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Love it.
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
What about you?
Favorite scene?
One of them.
Yeah, when Nico proposes toErica, oh yeah, up to that, and
that they that one shot where heproposes to her yes was in the
first movie too, and I love itwasn't in the movie, but it was
in the commercial or in thecommercial right right?
Speaker 2 (14:24):
no, I'm saying they
have.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
They've been to that
oh, that location, and I'm glad
that that's where the firstmovie.
Yeah, that's where I got, I'msorry, where he actually
proposed.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
But how funny was it
when she goes oh, we should get
a picture of this and the guyand Nico goes miss or whatever,
and it's Anna, like she's sometourist or something.
Right, right she's gotsunglasses on and she goes I
don't speak Spanish, or anythinglike that and then Erica
finally realizes it's Anna andthey're like ah.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Well, she goes Anna,
yeah, and she goes what who, or
something like that.
Yeah, Anna, yeah, and she goeswhat who, or something like that
.
Yeah, anna, that was so cute.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
She's like how did
you know we were going to be
here?
And then she says something tothe effect that you know, nico
had dropped her a pin.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Right, oh right Right
, he shared his location.
Right, right so yeah, that waswhen you mentioned it a little
earlier.
When Javier surprises Anna he'slike ah, and she, she, she,
literally like it's like youknow and I like their banter.
There was one scene where and Iit might be right after he
(15:27):
surprises her because she's likehe says is that so?
And she says is what so?
And he said what you said, shesaid what I say, I said you know
and I just thought that, andthey played it so perfectly it
was like it was really.
Yeah, it was like a who's onfirst moment, so I really loved
that.
I loved when javier's family isfollowing them around the house
when they first meet anna andthey go from like room to room
(15:51):
it.
You know what it reminded me ofbig fat greek wedding.
Yes, yes, exactly because whenyou marry, you know, into a
Greek family, you marryeverybody in there and have a
big family, so I just thoughtthat that was really.
I thought that was really justcute and fun and you know, yeah,
that was.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
That was a good one.
That was one of mine too.
Yeah, when they were followingaround what?
Speaker 1 (16:13):
about you Well, so
yeah, so that one was one of
yours, any others?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
When I like, when
Anna, when what's his mom?
Javier's mom's name?
Nina?
No, I can't remember her name.
Well, when she gives Anna theveil.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Oh, yes, that was a,
really that was so emotional,
Really good scene.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
I really really liked
that one.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Yeah, she played Rosa
Rosa.
Rosa is the mom scene.
I can't believe it, right,right, sorry, gosh.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
I really enjoyed that
one.
Yeah, that was such a sweetscene, such an emotional scene.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Well, and then you
know we haven't really talked
about it, but you know Allisonor, I'm sorry, anna she's drawn
to the family, so they're fakingan engagement.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Right, right.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
And she's drawn to
the family because she doesn't.
You know, her mom died when shewas young, and so the things
that Rosa are doing for her arewhat, you know, you would do for
a mother daughter, and she's soemotional about it.
So that's what that's why I loveseeing that part of her
character in this movie.
Yeah, right, so anna really.
Yeah, so she tears up and themom tears up and yeah, it was a
(17:25):
really really good scene.
Yeah, um, I loved the in andout and in and out of the cafe.
They were in and then they wentout, and then they went in and
they went out and erica's likewe're just, we can't make up our
minds, because they go intotalk and then they come out.
And that was when.
I think, was that when Nicojoined them.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Yes, that was when
Nico joined them.
Yeah, when Nico shows up in thevillage too.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah, it was good.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
We're going out again
.
We can't make up our minds.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Did you have any
other favorite?
Speaker 2 (17:50):
scenes I like when
Anna comes down the stairs and
she sees Javier's dad and sheasked him about the Wi-Fi.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yes, I have that as
my next one.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
The Wi-Fi scene.
Yes, yes, he talked really fast.
I don't know if they sped thetape up at that point, but how
they had the little words goingacross.
But you know and it was goingthe closed captioning.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Yeah, and the closed
captioning was, or subtitles
were going really fast.
Really fast the scroll wasreally fast, really fast the
scroll was really fast and itwas so perfect because you know,
even if you know like so, forAnna's character.
Erica knows more Spanish thanAnna does Right.
So Anna knows you know enoughto be dangerous and get by, but
she doesn't, and you know thatthat's true.
When you go in there you knowand you're learning a language
(18:32):
and you're like slow down.
I thought that was so perfect.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
I know.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
I talk fast sometimes
, you know.
So I'm sure somebody learningEnglish would be like well, back
up, back up, what'd you say?
Speaker 2 (18:43):
So I thought that was
really really that was funny I
had that also and the fact thathe just kept teasing her about
it.
Yes, yes, it was good.
I thought that was really Yep,yep, what else?
What do you?
Speaker 1 (18:53):
got.
Oh, I really like the scenebetween Anna and Javier when
they were in the building wherethey're artificially growing it.
And then they sit down to dokind of the harvesting of the
one Isn't that cool.
The chemistry between them wasoff the chain.
It was so good and the looksbetween them and that it was ooh
(19:14):
yeah, and he's a good-lookingman.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yeah, I mean not that
you're not a good-.
Yeah, and he's a good-lookingman.
Yeah, I mean not that you'renot a good-looking man, he's a
good-looking man.
I'm not going to lie.
Hey, I'll call a man out when Isee a good-looking man.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
So then we go broke
up, but it was just such a I
loved that scene.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
I thought that really
kind of brought the heat a
little bit.
You know he's You'll get plentymore times and you'll get a
harvest.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Then he touches.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
They don't kiss there
, I don't think Right, he
touches her face and she's likewe can't yeah, we can't yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
So, would you do that
?
Would you fake an engagement?
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Oh, I don't think so.
For the reasons they did Onlybecause of how his family
reacted.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
I know that would
break my heart.
They were so and of course, they had the old tradition of
you have to be married rightbefore you can inherit the the,
the land, the the farm and theright right, right, and it would
stay in the name if you so, ifyou engaged or get married or
whatever.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
But um, yeah, it was,
and I had one more.
Okay, yeah, the secret roomagain, the back of the back room
.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Because doesn't.
And Anna says again this istowards the beginning, right
when she's like I know ofanother place.
And Erica is like of course, you do, like of course, there's
another room, the back of a backroom, the back of the back.
So it's the same place but it'sa different, it's's.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
They didn't go into
the back of the back right, yeah
, so they go into the first partof it and then they go into the
back part.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
But the guy that does
the door yeah, the same
expression from the first movieand I love when he turns the
chips or the popcorn or bag ofpopcorn or whatever.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
It's just so funny
yeah it, it's really cute.
Yep, so, did you have any more?
Nope, that was it for scenesfor me alright, do you want to
move on to cheers?
Speaker 1 (21:02):
yeah sure, cheers and
juniors go with your first
cheer what you got, okay, andthen I'll do mine just the, the
culture.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
I just love that they
kept to the traditions you know
and just the scenes throughout, yeah it's beautifully shot and
I like that.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
They went to a
different location also, so they
shot a little bit in Barcelonaand then they went to.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Yeah, they didn't
spend as much time walking
through in and out of the city, but in the spots that they were
were just gorgeous.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
But the focus was the
village.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Right, you know.
So that's where that she justhappened upon, so she's driving
right.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
So she's in kind of
the countryside at first and it
breaks down.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Her car breaks down.
Anna does Runs out of a charge.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Right, right.
And it's so funny you say thatbecause I have that as my cheer,
like I want to go to Spain andI don't often like because I'm
so picky about food and stuff.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
I think it's good,
though Two films.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Think that was
equally a character you know, of
these two films.
So I I agree with you.
It was the first thing I hadalso, yeah did you have another?
I have a few.
You got quite a few.
You have any more.
I had two, you have two more.
So I mentioned I alreadymentioned the whole life after
40 of it all.
Yes, I think that messaging ispretty, pretty outstanding and I
(22:22):
have to believe you knowHallmarkies out there.
You have young and you probablyhave some you know.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Some older ones.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Middle-aged, I
wouldn't say older, I would just
say you know, we age like finewine, yeah.
So yeah, and people appreciatethat, people appreciate the
positive look at friendships andI like how they show that their
friendship has grown and theydo, you know, support each other
.
Like you said earlier, theykind of push each other Right
(22:51):
and I, I just I like theevolution of that on screen.
Yeah, I think that's prettycool yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Cause.
Anna did say you know youhelped me, you know, become who
I've become and I'm here for you.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Yes, she does so, you
know.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Let's let's do it.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Yep, yeah, I agree
with you.
What about you?
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Cheers my last cheer
was when they were in the
kitchen, all the women.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
And Anna, she tells
Anna to chop the onions.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
And then she starts
to cry.
So this is your cheer.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, this is a cheer
Only because the tradition,
Like she didn't have a mother toteach her, and she says that.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
But when Rosa comes
over and she goes, no dear
here's how you cut it, thetradition, like she didn't have
a mother to teach her, and shesays that Right, but when?
Rosa comes over and she goes nodear, here's how you cut it, oh
, when she was cutting the onionRight With your knuckles and
she was cutting it.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
And then all of a
sudden, Anna starts to cry and
she's like oh, are the onionsmaking you cry?
She said, no, I was.
But you can tell with familieslike that and like with Greek
families, it's a tradition.
They teach it you know, fromyoung.
From young, yeah, when youdon't have anybody to do that,
you don't know.
Well, you don't have to be inthat type of family.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
I mean, you know, if
you have a mom around who does
cook, then they're going toteach.
You were in the kitchen withyour mom and you know, because
the kitchen is like the heart ofthe home always right, right,
right.
So that was a pretty profoundmoment and I love that they gave
that to Anna and you can kindof see.
You know she, she wants likeshe's enjoying the family even
(24:17):
though they're not honest aboutthem being engaged Right, like
they're lying about beingengaged, but she's really
enjoying the time with thefamily, which makes it harder,
yes, to tell the truth.
And then and she's alsosupposed to be writing about the
village she thinks that'sreally going to catapult her,
because no one's ever writtenabout the saffron farm.
(24:38):
And we didn't talk about theflowers which I have in a little
bit.
Okay, All right.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, no, some other
cheers.
They mentioned manifesting atthe very beginning between Nico
and Erica, and we talk aboutthat a lot.
We have a vision board, put itout there, put it out there and
Nico's like I don't think it'sgoing to happen instantly.
And then her phone goes off.
She gets an email to let herknow, erica, that she got a book
(25:05):
deal.
So I was like I wish ithappened that fast.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Can I manifest the
lottery?
We sat there and looked at eachother that fast Can I manifest
the lottery?
We said.
They looked at each other likecan we get some of that fast?
Can we get the winning lotterynumbers?
Boom, we win.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah, I was like that
.
I mean I want to.
I'm sure it does happen quicklylike that sometimes.
But yeah, but I just, I likethe messaging of that I also
really liked the message aboutliving in the moment.
You know cause Anna says thatand we talk about that also.
You need to live, not justexist.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Right.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
And when you start
doing that life isn't always
easy, but it does become better.
And you know the messaging ofdon't let fear stand in your way
, because that's probably 99% ofwhy people stop something or
don't start.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Right.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
That's true Is
overcoming the fear, yeah, fear
of failure.
Yeah, you know like so I don'tknow, I just I loved that
messaging.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
So yeah, once you
conquer your fear, you no longer
has control over you.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Right and the saffron
flower, oh man, how beautiful
was that.
That was, I had no idea.
Did you?
No, I had no idea.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
I'm telling you, I'm
not like educated in that type
of stuff of where things spicescome from.
Right, I wouldn't know, but torealize it only comes from them
red little stems or whatever youcall them.
Yeah, I mean you have to havethousands and thousands and
thousands of these plants, right?
So I thought that was prettycool.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
And I like that
everybody comes together to do
the harvest?
Yes, Still you know it's atradition and they've kept that
part up.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
And Nico said I want
to be a part of your family's
tradition.
Can I help you?
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Oh yeah, he did,
didn't he?
I thought that was it was justreally cool.
I mean, it was really.
And it was interesting to methat you have the.
I have a few more cheers, butyou have the.
You know Javier wants to getout.
He.
You know Javier wants to getout, he wants to go to the city
and he wants to travel, but hefeels bound by family tradition
to stay.
You know, and Eric or, I'msorry, anna she wants the family
(27:01):
, she likes, she grew up inBoston.
So she's like eh, you know, Ireally like, she likes to travel
, but she likes the countryside, right, she likes the quiet and
the peace.
You know, yes, and it's likeyou're always kind of looking
for the opposite, the opposite.
Right Of what you, of whatyou've had or grown up with, and
they're sort of the perfectmatch in that way, right, you
know they can kind of give thatto each other.
(27:21):
So I just I thought it allworked.
I mean, we talked about, youknow, the kitchen is the heart
of the home and you know Erica'slike you love being in the
kitchen, don't you Anna?
And she's like it's because ofthe people in it.
And I was like ooh, you know Ialmost teared up.
It's so good.
It has some great greatone-liners and stuff.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yes, the wine
throughout.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
And then you know of
course the ending, when Javier
gives Anna the jar of saffron, because she didn't buy it, of
course, and he gives it to her.
I thought that was so sweet.
I like that full circle momentand I really liked that they
gave Anna and Erica the lastlike speaking moment of the
characters.
I mean there's something in thebackground after they go back
to the table and whatnot.
(28:02):
But yeah, I mean I just Ienjoyed that.
I'm glad they gave them thatmoment because in the end it was
about the friendship.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yeah, it was you know
?
Speaker 1 (28:10):
and what does Erica
say?
She says something like whowould have thought we'd be here.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
And Anna says that's
the best thing about life
there's always another chapterto write.
And I was like that's so truetoo.
You know, yeah, it is.
We are in our life.
It really is Like words to liveby right.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Yeah, yeah.
And then you know, of course, erica and nico got married.
Yeah, spoiler alert spoileralert, but before real quick.
I love how the family forgavethem yeah, yeah, because they
found out that um erica waswriting about the family.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
But then you realize
she's not well, about the
village, about the village.
But you find, out later on.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
It's not, she wasn't
really writing about that.
She was writing about Anna, whocame across this whole thing,
and I thought that was prettycool too, and I loved how they
really did forgive her.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Right right.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
She forgave both of
them.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
She forgave both of
them and the family you know you
got to give families a chance.
I mean they might be resistantat first, but you know people do
things because that's the wayit's always been done, but
sometimes they're open to otherways of doing things right.
And I just love gosh AshleyWilliams, her face, like you
said, in the character of Anna.
When Erica says she's going toget married, yeah, and Anna's
(29:24):
like what you know, she gets allexcited.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
I mean, she is just
she just kills me and it almost
seemed like she was for realgetting married for the first
time in life.
It's so cute she made it soreal she is so so, so cute.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Yeah, and I like I
also, like you know, we've
talked about the friendship alot.
But you know, they have alittle argument, yeah, you know,
and they kind of have adisagreement and in the end they
really did want the best forone another.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
You know, and then
they resolved it quickly, and
that can happen too even betweenwomen, you know.
So I liked that.
They showed that they had somedisagreements and then they
finally came around.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
They're like you know
, you're right and then they
were like you know, you're rightthe whole Moby Dick metaphor.
Yeah, the.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
I realize that he
gets eaten by the whale right,
Erica says that Anna's likedon't focus on that part, you
know we're not going to worryabout that, it's just about
overcoming your fears, you know.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
So did you have any
jeers?
Speaker 1 (30:21):
I had none.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
I had one.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Uh-oh, what was your?
I didn't have any.
What was your, jeer?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
And you're going to
say yes when I say this.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Mate when I say this
Okay, mateo was not at the
wedding Her best friend.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Oh, you know what?
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Male friend.
He was not at the wedding.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Well, maybe he
couldn't get there on time, are
we sure he wasn't?
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Yes, because I sat
there and watched, and as
they're coming out of the church, they had some.
I don't even know who the lastpeople in the line were.
Maybe they were part of afamily that actually owned the
Sapphire Farm.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Yeah, but he wasn't
there.
I didn't even think about that,but you're right.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
He should have been
there, yes.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
Mateo, he missed his
best friend's wedding.
Yes, which, oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
There you go, they're
going to make it up.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
No, I mean, have you
seen the movie my Best Friend's
Wedding with Julia Roberts?
Speaker 2 (31:10):
I have, but I don't
remember it when she has a very.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
She has a gay best
friend.
Yes, oh God, the actor is sofunny and he helps Julia Roberts
.
That's Mateo, oh man.
And Erica, yeah, only not quite, as you know.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Not quite as funny of
a relationship but but still
that would be.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
that's what they
should do, yeah.
Yeah, I didn't even notice that.
Huh, look at you.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
I know.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
You cheer?
I didn't have any, I mean.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Because we saw his
video that how thankful he was
when the shooting was done andit just I was like oh, the actor
, right, yes, you couldn't puthim in there.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Who played Mateo?
You're right.
You're right, he did have avideo he had on Instagram.
I believe so go look for thatand I don't have that actor's
name but he's in the first one.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
Yeah, I just, I don't
know his name either.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Yeah, he's in.
We listed at the beginning ofthe episode of To.
Barcelona With Love.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Yeah, he placed the
flower shop owner.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
But you're right, he
posted an Instagram where he was
kind of tearing up and he justloved the shoot and he had such
a great time.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
So yeah, go find that
video too.
It's pretty cool.
So did you have anything else?
Speaker 1 (32:30):
So if not.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
How many corks would
you give this one?
Speaker 1 (32:34):
I would give it.
I'd give it five.
I can't help it.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
I love them.
How could I not Even with my-.
How can you not Even with myjeer?
All four of them, yes.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
The way they were.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
I want more movies
with them as couples in it and
with I'm with them as couples init and with Mateo.
We need a Christmas one.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
We need a Christmas
one.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
In Barcelona 100%.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Well, they could
travel somewhere.
Yeah, they could travel fromBarcelona.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
They could do a
wedding.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Instead of to
Barcelona, it could be from
Barcelona to Rome.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Oh, there you go To
Paris Greece.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
I don't know Anywhere

fam.
Well, I guess Anna doesn't havemuch of a family but, we don't
know about Erica.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Well, she doesn't
mention much anyway.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Well, all I know is I
want more of Ashley Williams
and Alison Sweeney.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Me too.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
So is that a wrap?
Speaker 2 (33:35):
