In this episode of Pour The Wine, It’s Rom-Com Time, Garry and Amy unpack the twists and turns of Providence Falls: The Impossible Promise. Cora is torn between two very different men: her mysterious partner Liam, and the steady, undeniable pull she feels toward DA Finn. Meanwhile, Liam faces his own dilemma: should he follow his heart and risk altering Cora’s destiny or step aside to ensure she ends up with Finn and fulfills what fate has planned? It’s a battle between passion and purpose. Can we really change our fate or are we simply bound to repeat our past mistakes?

way, I know, so we need to lookit up.

Garry (06:56):
I'm sorry, I apologize.

Amy (06:57):
Tomato, tomato the next podcast.

Amy (07:13):
Right, and we did discuss that also in the last episode
and we did discuss it.

Garry (07:16):
Yes, you're right, yep.

Amy (07:18):
But we like to repeat it because they're writers.

Garry (07:21):
So is it time to drop the synopsis.

Amy (07:23):
It is time to drop the synopsis.

Garry (07:27):
All right.

their destinies Dun dun dun.

Garry (07:42):

Well, we'll probably give awaysome spoilers.
So if you have not watched thisepisode yet, press pause.
Go watch it at your leisurelytime.

Amy (07:53):
Come back, listen to our podcast and tell us what you
think.

Garry (07:55):
Word Right, yes, all right.
So talking about, tell us whatyou think, what did you think
that was my first take.

Amy (08:00):
Yes, all right.

Garry (08:01):
So you know talking about tell us what you think.
What did you think?
What did you think that?

Amy (08:06):
was my first take.
Yes, there was a lot of presentday in this one.

Garry (08:11):
Yes, there was.

Amy (08:12):
A lot of present day.
When I take my notes, I divideit up between you know, like
present day, 1844, and angels, that's what I call the different
times it's not really timejumping?
It's not really time jumping,it's just three different times,
Right right, or three differentperiods.
I guess.
Two time periods and celestialstuff, you know.

Garry (08:30):
Yep.

Amy (08:31):
And there was a lot of present day stuff.
I really liked this particularepisode as well.
I mean, there was so much goingon once again and we talked
about this last time alsothere's just there's so many
layers.
There are different thingsgoing on.

Garry (08:49):
Yep.

Amy (08:49):
Different.
You know you've got the crimesthat they're trying to solve.
You have a bit of a lovetriangle between Liam and Cora
and Finn right, you have Suzettethrown in there, they've thrown
in Bale.
You know, suzette the friend.

Garry (09:08):
Yeah.

Amy (09:08):
Who's in there sporadically ?
You have Bale.
You're not sure who's involvedwith what.
Who's nefarious, yet who'sreally on the up and up?
You're still trying to figureout the characters, and then you
do have you know, even thoughit was heavy, on present day we
did have still some 1844 scenes.
We have the angels in boththeir celestial world and in

(09:33):
present day.
There was like a crossoverthere.
So there was a lot going on inthis episode, not to mention,
you know, like I said, the lovetriangle, but the love stories
going on the fate, the destiny.
So it's really intricatestorytelling and I love it.
I'm here for it.

Garry (09:51):
So what about you?
What's your?

Amy (09:52):
first take of this particular episode.

Garry (09:54):
Oh, my goodness, I just love the biblical references.
The biblical references, yes, that they have going on, oh,
okay, and we kind of get a sneakpeek of one of them, gabriel.

Amy (10:04):
Oh, gabriel, and we kind of get a sneak peek of one of them
, gabriel, oh, gabriel, yeah, with his little nameplate on the
door.
Yeah, with his little nameplateon the door.
That was funny.

Garry (10:10):
And you know, we have a love triangle.

Amy (10:12):
Yes.

Garry (10:13):
Somewhat of a love triangle.

Amy (10:14):
Yeah.

Garry (10:15):
Uh-huh, and I too like the back and forth between 1844
and the present.
Present Because I like presenthow they like, how they.

Amy (10:23):
I almost thought you said prison, prison.

Garry (10:28):
It's been a day yeah.

Amy (10:30):
It's been a long day.

Garry (10:31):
I just feel like it's a good mixture.
You know one's not out doingthe other and yeah, I just loved
it.

Amy (10:40):
Right, right.
And when you're in the presentday, you don't.
It's not that you forget aboutthe other, you know things, time
periods, it's just.
And then when they bring themback in, you're like oh yeah,
you know, because the storyflows so well.

Garry (10:52):
Yes, it does.

Amy (10:53):
From the beginning to the end, through all the characters
and you're trying to keep trackof what's going on and who's who
.
And they're talking aboutMeredith and John a lot and
they're we don't see them at allin this episode.
Well, I guess we see Meredith alittle bit.
A little bit but they're talkedabout a lot.
We're still talking about therobbery.
We're still talking about whatthe larcenies and you know, the

(11:15):
home invasions.
So there's just a lot going onand, like I said, then you have
Cora, who's trying to live up toher dad's expectations, and
yeah, so there's just there's awhole bunch going on, yep.

Garry (11:28):
So you want to talk about favorite scenes.

Amy (11:30):
Sure All right.
You want to start with talkabout?
I know there weren't that manylike 1844.
Mm-hmm, so what would you-?

Garry (11:39):
What was?

Amy (11:39):
my favorite scene there yeah.

Garry (11:46):
I think it was the opening one, where Finn comes to
see Cra at her castle and heasks for her hand in marriage.
Yes, and she's kind of like no,can you give me a day?
Can I think about it?
I just got to think about itfor a minute.
She wants to think about it.

Amy (12:03):
Well, as a man with that crush, would you be like okay.

Garry (12:06):
Yes, it would crush me, but Finn's so nice.

Amy (12:08):
He's like, yeah, I had that too, it was like a favorite
scene so far he's nice, it'slike.
I've come to ask for your handin marriage.

Garry (12:16):
Yeah, but then he ends up leaving, right.
And then in through the windowcomes Liam.

Amy (12:22):
Comes Liam.
Yeah, it's funny.
I mean it's kind of appropriatefor their characters.
Finn comes in through the frontdoor.

Garry (12:28):
He's a proper guy.
Yes.

Amy (12:30):
You know a guy with manners and Liam crawls in through the
window.
Now, he's probably not welcomethrough the front door, but you
know Probably not.
Yeah, I have that too as ascene.
I thought that's, and then theytalk about going to America.

Garry (12:42):
Yeah and I, and so that was one of my favorite scenes.
What about you?

Amy (12:47):
And I like when he says meet me on the morrow Because we
joke around about you know, like I was like meet me on the
morrow.
I just say that.

Garry (12:54):
Yes, that is so cool.

Amy (12:56):
We're going to meet on the morrow, you know, yeah, so I
just like it.
And why is it every time wewatch it?
I want to slip into an Irishaccent.
I don't know big bucks inacting.

Garry (13:10):
I don't know I can take a dialect.
I know I can never do it likethat.

Amy (13:14):
Anyway, when we watch it, it just makes you want to just
practice an Irish accent.

Garry (13:17):
It makes you want to do it, because every time I try one
, you're like what in the worldwas that?

Amy (13:22):
Yeah, but you have Scottish , I know.
I'm from here and I can't evendo an accent, so I'm not even
gonna try well, you grew up here, so it's not like you know.

Garry (13:37):
Yeah, yeah but you can fall into the scottish accent
pretty well so yes yes, betterthan my irish but I do
understand them better than youdo you, one thousand percent,
can understand those heavyaccents better than me for the
Scottish.

Amy (13:52):
I'll be like can you tell me what they just said?

Garry (13:56):
With your family members Very, very good at when they got
together.
It was heavy.

Amy (14:03):
Yes, yes, I needed you as an interpreter, that's for sure.

Garry (14:08):
Alright, so that was.

Amy (14:09):
Did you have any other 1844 ?

Garry (14:11):
No, not really, because there really weren't that many
yeah yeah, but one of the onesin, well, the angel time.
I'm going to say that.

Amy (14:20):
I know we call it angels.

Garry (14:22):
Yeah, we'll call it angels.
Yes, when Agon was filing thesouls going to heaven and the
other place, so he was standingat the file cabinets and he was
going.
He was like going to heaven,Going to the other place.

Amy (14:43):
He's so good.
He's so good in that role.

Garry (14:46):
I really enjoyed that little scene right there.
I thought that was so funnythat was pretty funny.

Amy (14:51):
Yeah, I totally forgot.
Thought that was so funny.
That was pretty funny.

Garry (14:53):
Yeah, I totally forgot about that scene actually, but
that was funny Going to theother place and you know, as far
as the angels I had.

Amy (15:00):
You know, agon, when he's tearing up so he puts in the VHS
tape right and it's titled Liamand Cora, 19th century.
Yes, and he puts it in and he'swatching it, and that's what we
just talked about the Finngoing to Cora's house.

Garry (15:14):
That's the scene that we see Right Right During that
Right.

Amy (15:16):
And then when they come back to him, he's like tearing
up.

Garry (15:19):
Yes, I know, because he just loves it.

Amy (15:21):
He's really like invested, you know, which I just love, so
it's like he's team liam, I'mtelling you right, I think he's
right.
And then, as far as the angels,I mean, this is not really a
scene, but it's really.
I like how they incorporatedmagnus into all of it and you
think he's working for the otherside right right, and then um

(15:45):
salim and agon, finally findmagnus's file and salim says
thank, thank the matter.
He's not working for eitherside.

Garry (15:52):
I know he's still a bad guy.
He's a bad guy, but he's notworking.

Amy (15:55):
So I kind of like that.
They incorporated that and theyfound him, because I thought he
was going to be on the otherside.

Garry (16:00):
So did I.
He was a perfect decoy.

Amy (16:03):
I liked when they were like , because they Right Like
practically the whole time.
They're like oh, we found thefile finally.
Yeah, you know, so I I likedthat.

Garry (16:12):
Yeah, that was.
That was a good scene, yeah.

Amy (16:14):
Yep, all right.
So now we go into present day,and I have a few yes, so do I Do
you.

Garry (16:22):
Ok, all right, what's one of?

Amy (16:23):
yours or the first one?

Garry (16:25):
It was the scene when they were at the police station,
liam and Cora, I believe, okay, and they were talking about
putting eyes on the propertiesof I can't remember their name,
offhand Brady, I think it is oh,on his properties, right On his
properties, because that waspart of his business, because

(16:45):
they were looking to see ifthey'll turn the lights on, and
then that's when they wouldfigure that's where meredith is
right.
And then liam um, I think youwere talking about.
I think that's when leo comesin and he gives them an
invitation.
Yes, and he, uh, he gives it tocora and tells her to come, and

(17:06):
then liam takes one leo, leo isthe, he's, the he's the
detective that's retiring, whois.
Cora's dad's friend.

Amy (17:16):
Right.
So he gives her an invitationto the retirement Right, right,
right.

Garry (17:20):
So Cora and Liam are talking and Liam he goes.
I think I'm going to inviteFinn.
No, he says tinks, I tinks, Itinks, I'm going to invite Finn.
No, he says tinks, I tinks, Itinks, I'm going to invite Finn.
And she says oh, are you guysfriends now?
And Liam was like maybe, maybeno.

Amy (17:41):
You're right, and he goes.
No, no, no, he says, could be,could be.

Garry (17:44):
Oh is it, could be, could be he goes could be.

Amy (17:46):
Could be, but also no.

Garry (17:48):
Yes, oh, I love that scene.
That was good.

Amy (17:50):
I had that down too.
I thought that that was so cutebecause he's like could be,
could be, but also no.

Garry (17:55):
But also no, it's really fun.

Amy (17:59):
His character is so great too.
I mean, they're all that's thething about this series too, and
we haven't really touched onthis too much.
Is they're all so good?
I mean, they made the perfectchoices for the actors and
actresses in this.

Garry (18:12):
I agree.

Amy (18:13):
They're all so good in the roles that they have and they
all.
Just the chemistry betweeneverybody and obviously the
chemistry between Liam and Coraand even Finn and Cora, I mean
there's a lot of chemistry goingon right, so yeah.

Garry (18:29):
Really, really well done, cassie.
So what about you in thepresent Dawn?

Amy (18:31):
Well, that was fun okay for present day.
Um, I just talked about it.
Uh, a little bit about magnusshowing up I appreciated like a
new character, like that right,um and uh, you know, finn,
during the scene that magnusshows up, it's in the bar right
and he's talking to Korra.

(18:52):
And then Finn goes up, I thinkto them, and it's just the way
Finn walks up, he starts talkingto Magnus, got his hand in his
pocket.
He's just cool and relaxed andthat's kind of what we were just
talking about.
I'm loving Evan Roderick asFinn.
He's just natural, right.
His flow is so natural andgreat, so I loved him in that

(19:17):
scene.

Garry (19:17):
Yeah.

Amy (19:18):
Just how cool and calm he was and collected, and he really
doesn't like Magnus, but he'sbeing nice in that moment so I
liked that scene.

Garry (19:27):
Yeah, it's really going to make me upset if he's playing
for the other side.

Amy (19:31):
Yes, we don't know for sure , because he's such a good guy.
Yes, yes.

Garry (19:36):
And that's another one of my favorites.

Amy (19:38):
We hope it stays.

Garry (19:39):
It is when you know Liam is trying to push Cora to him
and he's like here you go, finn,I'm going to step aside Right.
And then he's, he's like well, you know, I really appreciate it
.
And then later on in the in themovie it switches.

Amy (20:01):
What do you mean?
Because?
He's like if there's ever a guyI wanted to be with it would be
you, yeah, when they like kindof reverse roles, right yeah,
finn and Liam.

Garry (20:11):
Yeah, right, right, right , I thought that was very good.
Yeah, that is really good, it'sa good yeah.

Amy (20:17):
The scene where Suzette finds out that Liam is an angel.

Garry (20:22):
Oh my goodness, I have that one too.
When she sees.

Amy (20:24):
Aegon disappear and she's like what she drops her phone.
She drops her phone she dropsher phone, and it reminded me of
the scene in it's a WonderfulLife.

Garry (20:31):
Yes.

Amy (20:31):
When Jimmy Stewart is talking to the angel and he's
talking to Clarence and Clarenceis saying all these wacky off
the wall, things that gives awaythat he's not from present day
and I don't know.
I just I really like that andshe and Suzette says something

(20:52):
like that.
She's chronically open minded, she believes in alien abductions
, Bigfoot and Liam's like yeah,I don't get those references you
know, because he he's from adifferent time and he has no
idea what he's talking about, but she sees them and then Liam
is just really open about what'sgoing on right in that moment.
You know, and you don't oftenfind that in a movie, usually

(21:15):
and I know this is written andit's from the book, and you know
, I don't know how closely thatis to the book, but you know,
usually it's like oh no, youdidn't see anything, what?
You know you try to play it offor explain it differently and
you know.
But I'm glad he, just in themoment he's like, yeah, we're
angels, okay, what else you got,you know?

Garry (21:34):
Right.

Amy (21:34):
And then he explains to her the situation and what he's
trying to do.
So Right, that was a favoritescene.

Garry (21:40):
Yeah, that was one of mine too, yeah.

Amy (21:41):
Oh cool, we're seamers.

Garry (21:43):
Yeah, I liked.
Another one of mine was whenLiam was at home by himself and
Hagan shows up and he asked whyare you alone?
And he's like I'm trying to geta hold of Cora but she's not

(22:04):
answering.
But then he gets a text messagefrom Suzette that Cora is with
Magnus.
And then Liam says somethinglike you know, oh my God, he's a
bad dude.
And then Aegon says it's notlike she hasn't picked a bad boy
before.

Amy (22:22):
Oh, I missed that.

Garry (22:24):
Yeah, Aegon says that in that scene and that's before
Cora comes home with Magnus,Okay in that scene?

Amy (22:30):
Yeah, I missed that.

Garry (22:31):
When he said that he's like it's not like she hasn't
picked a bad boy before, andthen he's like ooh, I made a
joke, right.

Amy (22:38):
Yeah, yeah, Was that when he said ooh, I made a sarcastic
joke.

Garry (22:43):
I used sarcasm or something.

Amy (22:45):
Yeah, I liked when they're, of course, at the police
station and you know, liam andCora are at the police station
and he apologized for lettingthings get so weird, because we
didn't even talk about that.
Where they left off at the endof the first movie, right right,
where Cora has decided she'schosen Liam and we don't know

(23:08):
what happens, and then it startsoff at the police station the
next day and it's awkwardbecause, Liam has obviously told
her you know, we can't.

Garry (23:16):
Yeah, we can't do anything, I'm sorry, but I'm not
ready.
And he's still getting zapped.
So, yeah, yeah, too keen.

Amy (23:22):
So he Well, yeah, they're at the police station and Liam
says you know, I'm sorry forletting things get so weird, and
she's you know, it's likethat's sort of your specialty,
because things are weird aroundhim.

Garry (23:36):
Right.

Amy (23:37):
And then he's like I'd hate to lose us, you know because I
think she says the same thinglike I'd hate to lose us too.
And then they shake hands andhe doesn't get zapped, and he's
so excited and he picks her up.
So that was kind of a cool, just a cool scene, a cool moment
.
He almost twirls her around, but I don't think he goes quite
around in a circle, but I reallyliked that because he's like,

(23:57):
oh my gosh, he's just so excitedand he just picks her up.
And they have that moment wherethey look at each other and
yeah, so yeah, that was a goodone too.

Garry (24:04):
Yeah yeah, yeah.
Another one of mine is whenLiam I think it was right after
that scene where he picked herup he goes can you teach me how
to drive?
And so she's teaching him howto drive.

Amy (24:21):
I do, I think it was.
I think you're right.

Garry (24:24):
I do remember that she thinks he's from Ireland and the
reason he doesn't drive becauseAmericans drive on the wrong
side of the road.

Amy (24:29):
But that's not true.
He's only 18, 14.
He's used to horses and buggiesright.

Garry (24:36):
But he puts the key in and she says now that pedal
right there, put your foot on it.
And he puts his foot on it andhe takes off.

Amy (24:44):
And he's like, okay, I'm done, I'm getting out of here.
He's basically like that'senough of that, right, right,
like it at all no he does not,and then they kind of have this
moment.

Garry (24:54):
And then that's when cora looks over and sees meredith
getting in a car right, but shethey're kind of messing around.

Amy (25:01):
She's trying to grab the keys from her and give them back
, or whatever she's like no, youput your seatbelt back on
you're still gonna drive andthey're kind of, and they have
that moment where they look ateach other, you know.
So, yeah, we'll talk about thata little bit more, all right A
little bit later I have that ina chair.
Oh sure, Cora, I like when shechecks out the evidence from the
jewelry store heist.

(25:22):
Yes, because she's having amoment of where she's kind of
doubting herself and she doesn'tknow what's up or down anymore
and she's trying to figure itout.
And she finds a necklace.
And Liam has come in there andshe finds the necklace and she
says she feels like it'sconnected to both of them to her
and to him, and he puts it onher, and this is another very-.

(25:46):
Intense moment, very intensechemistry moment, right where he
puts it on her and then she'slike just just take it off, you
know.
So then he, she takes it off.
But that's also when he givesher like a pep talk right
because she's ready to, you know, not quit, but she's like I'm
never gonna solve this case andhe really gives her a good yes a

(26:07):
good, friendly pep talk in thatmoment right so I liked that
yeah that was a good scene tooyeah, they got a lot of good
scenes.

Garry (26:16):
I just can't talk about them all, I know I know here all
night yeah yes, you have anymore um, no, I think I'm to
leave it there.
Okay, what about you?
I have a couple more.

Amy (26:29):
So when Finn takes Cora to where he grew up so she can get
an idea of where he grew up andhe talks about Eli.

Garry (26:37):
That was a good scene.

Amy (26:38):
Even though Eli is a bad guy now.
When Finn was growing up afterhis dad died, eli really took
him under his wing, paid for hiscollege, paid for law school.
Never brought the nefariousstuff around him.

Garry (26:51):
Right.
Kept him away from it.
Kept him away from it.

Amy (26:54):
So you kind of get a sense.
And again you know it's likeare you being lulled into a
sense of security with Finn?
Or you know, and he says youknow the way he saw his parents.
They really loved each other.
They may not have had a lot,but you know they lived here and
this is what they had and hisparents were so in love and he
never thought he could have thatuntil he found Cora Right.

(27:14):
And then she says she's beenthinking about that with him too
.
So she's still torn.
We don't know what's going onand I just appreciated that we
got more of a look into Finn'slife.

Garry (27:24):
Yes.

Amy (27:25):
Than we had previously.

Garry (27:26):
Right.

Amy (27:27):
So we kind of know, you know, you kind of know he's a
good guy, but you're not reallysure his background or anything
or what he's got going on andyou're kind of doubting it
throughout.
So I like that scene.
I also like the scene you knowthen you have towards the end,
where Cora ends up in the water.

Garry (27:44):
Right.

Amy (27:44):
Right, she's hit on the head and she ends up in the
water and they showed the shotof her falling in present day.
And then they show the 1844falling.

Garry (27:53):
Yes, that was a good scene too.

Amy (27:54):
I just like that scene the shot of it, the way they
incorporated the 1844 into thatscene, and then, of course, finn
jumping into the water andsaving her.

Garry (28:04):
Yes.

Amy (28:04):
You know, and he says he thought he lost her again, and
then brings her up on shore andthen they kiss she wakes up, and
they just have this kiss yes, right.
And Finn sees it yeah, right.
Because Finn had gone afterMagnus and tackled him and was
trying to wrestle him Right Atthat moment, right, right.

Garry (28:23):
When he looks up and sees him and you could just see his
heart was just ripped right outof his chest, yep, and you could
just see his heart was justripped right out of his chest.

Amy (28:30):
Yep his face.
In that moment you could justsee it all on his face.
That was a perfectly shot sceneand that comes into play later.

Garry (28:36):
Yes.

Amy (28:37):
Like you said, when he talks to Liam, when Finn talks
to Liam, back at the hospital.
Back at the hospital.
But yeah, in that scene and youknow, I heard the podcaster's
Hallmark Mysteries and more Goodpodcast.
Go listen to it.
They interviewed Evan Roderickand I was listening to it the

(28:57):
other day, evan Roderick, whoplays Finn, and he was saying,
because they were talking aboutthe water and how cold it was,
because you know, you don't justshoot it once, you shoot it
many, many, many, many times andEvan was basically, like you
know, I didn't have to get inthe water, but he was terribly
sick.

Garry (29:13):
Right.

Amy (29:15):
He was so sick that day and I think he ended up saying
something like it you know hehad the flu or something, right?
And I mean you wouldn't knowthat looking at it, but like
he's like, that was his look, like he just wanted to get.
He was there, he was trying toget the shot done you know,
because he was so sick he had ajob to do, but I thought that
that was interesting.

Garry (29:33):
What do you always tell me?
Sometimes you just gotta suckit up, but it'll cook.

Amy (29:37):
I know that would be so hard though.

Garry (29:39):
It would be.

Amy (29:40):
Oh my gosh, yeah, so all right.
So moving on to cheers andcheers.
What are some of your biggestcheers?
What's?

Garry (29:47):
one I just really enjoyed every time Agon watches those.

Amy (29:54):
VHS tapes.
Yeah, the VHS tapes.

Garry (29:56):
He just looks like he's so like, hmm, yes, like he's
into them and he just has thisconnection with them.
I just love that.

Amy (30:05):
Yes, I agree.

Garry (30:07):
Yes, that yes.

Amy (30:17):
I I agree, yes, and I also liked when liam realizes the zap
is no longer.

Garry (30:19):
Yeah, yes, when he goes to shake, that's a good cheer
with um, with cora, and once herealizes he just picks her up
and yeah, yeah, that's what wetalked.

Amy (30:26):
And yeah, for a favorite scene and a cheer yes, right, I
totally agree, totally agree.

Garry (30:31):
What did you have?

Amy (30:33):
I have basically like the longing looks we get between
Cora and Liam in this episode.
There are several throughout.

Garry (30:40):
Yep.

Amy (30:40):
You know where they almost kiss and then they do kiss at
the end.
But there are some of these, like you just feel you know the
chemistry between them, Likefeel, you know the chemistry
between them, like um, we talkedabout it not too long ago the
driving scene, right, right, where they're kind of finally
messing around and she's youknow, she's kind of slid over
the seat to try to grabsomething from, and they kind of

(31:00):
look at each other longingly.
Um, when she says to liam aftermagnus, uh, magnus has just
dropped Cora off and Liam kindof made a little bit of a scene
with Magnus.
I forget what he says, like dowe have a problem here?
And he's like not, if you getback in the car and drive back
to where you came from orsomething like that.

Garry (31:22):
I thought that that was funny, that was a good one.

Amy (31:26):
She says to Liam you know, if you have a real reason why I
shouldn't hang out with Magnus,I want you to tell me right now.
And she's just like dying forhim to tell her.
And he just looks at her andyou know, and he's really trying
not to because he knows she'ssupposed to be with Finn.
Excuse me.
According to the angels Right.

Garry (31:44):
Right.

Amy (31:45):
That's supposed to be her fate.
He doesn't know why yet.
Right, that's supposed to beher fate.
He doesn't know why yet.
But and then the necklacemoment, like we talked about the
scene at Second Chances, wherehe's there and he tells her he
likes being close to her becauseshe just comes alive there,
because that's her, that's herthing, that's what she loves to
do.

Garry (32:03):
Right To help kids.

Amy (32:04):
You know that, are you know , maybe lost, and give them a
second chance.
That are, you know, maybe lost, and give them a second chance.
And then, of course, at the endof the episode, when he
realizes what he has to do andhe's looking at her through the
window that was just so, sogreat.
And he says I may not be hersoulmate, but she's the love of

(32:25):
my life, of all my lives.
I'll do whatever it takes tohelp her change the world for
the better, even if that means Ican never have her.

Garry (32:32):
And I was like I know Even Samia Like he, yeah, oh
yeah, she's, she's tearing uptoo, and it doesn't.

Amy (32:40):
And I was like are you crying?
Yeah, and she's like no, no.

Garry (32:50):
I so just the longing looks between them.

Amy (32:50):
it really worked and built up throughout the episode and
then you get to the end and yourealize he really can't do that.

Garry (32:56):
Right.

Amy (32:56):
You know because he's been told why what her purpose is by
that point.

Garry (33:02):
And that was the scene before then.

Amy (33:03):
Right, right.
So do you have other cheers?
Well, I was gonna.

Garry (33:07):
I was gonna say that scene where liam, samuel and
agon are in one of the hospitalrooms and agon tells him her
true destiny, which is secondchances, and that back in the
1840, 1844, yeah, she wassupposed to open up a second
chances, but only like an orphanhome.

Amy (33:29):
An orphanage.

Garry (33:29):
Orphanage, yeah, yeah and something else I can't remember
what else she called it andthen he gives that look like now
I know what to do, and that'sthe scene you were just talking
about.

Amy (33:42):
Yeah, and then he understands.
And he has that moment ofrealization on his face, like I
really can't be selfish in thismoment because she's destined
for much greater things rightthan me yeah, yeah, I agree so
did you have any uh anymore?
um, I liked all the scenesbetween agon and liam.
You know, like when liam tellsagon, I wouldn't have had to

(34:06):
tell her if you hadn't poppedout right in front of her face.
You know about suzette when suSuzette saw him disappear.
You know we talked about itearlier about Aegon getting
excited, about using sarcasm.
And then when Liam tells Aegonhe and Korra kissed, he's
excited at first because hewants them to be together but he
knows they can't.
Then he's like, oh, I can't beexcited, I'm sorry, you know he
brings it in.
I just I love their scenes.

(34:28):
I really liked another cheer ishow we had the addition of Bale
.
I wasn't expecting that,although I should have, I was
more focused on the lovetriangle and what's going to
happen, and you know, withoutthinking of the other side
coming into play.

Garry (34:42):
Right.

Amy (34:42):
So we haven't even really talked about that, but I thought
that that adds another layer tothe storytelling.
I think so so did you have anyother cheers?

Garry (34:53):
My last cheer was when we find out about Suzette.
Oh my goodness.

Amy (34:59):
Oh, that's your cheer.
It's a cheer because I thoughtit was so brilliant.

Garry (35:04):
Yes, because you would have never saw that coming.
I didn't see it coming.
I didn't see it coming either,so they're sitting there talking
.
Was it Liam and her?

Amy (35:12):
Yes, in the hospital.
She comes to the hospitalbecause Cora's in the hospital
and she's like how's she doing?

Garry (35:16):
She's going to be fine, yeah, and she gets a text
message from an unknown callerYep and then she goes out and lo
and behold, it's Bale sittingon a bench.
Yeah, and she's the agent that.

Amy (35:31):
Well, I don't know, because she looks not happy.
Did you notice that?

Garry (35:36):
She looks not happy but she's the agent and maybe it's
because he's got something onher, so she has to do this.
Oh right, because we find out, magnus is not the agent, is not
the agent.

Amy (35:47):
So we think it's her, but I think think they we'll talk
about that more in a minute.
But yeah, yeah, so, but I wassurprised too yes I was, you
know, when she got that textmessage and then she goes to go
outside and I was a little bitlike what's gonna happen?
I wasn't sure where it wasgoing, but yeah, I wasn't
expecting that yeah, so that wasa good surprise um the other

(36:09):
cheers would be liam'sone-liners yes about the phone
when he says what's the point ofthis thing if she won't answer
me?

Garry (36:15):
you know, because he's texting her and she won't text
cora won't text him back.

Amy (36:18):
And that's us with.
Like the kids, why do they havea phone if they won't text us
back?
Yeah I know you have the phonein your hand.
Um, when liam goes to asksuzette why corora was with
Magnus and she tells him aboutFinn being a pool shark, right,
and he goes Finn, boring lawyerFinn.

Garry (36:34):
Yes.

Amy (36:35):
And then when he sees Finn, he's kind of smirking and he's
like oh, I didn't take you for abilliards man.

Garry (36:41):
you know A billiards bow, a gambling man, a billiards bow
, yeah.

Amy (36:44):
You know kind of razzing him.
I thought that that was kind ofcute.
And then he says to Cora youknow that Finn looked like a man
who had a proper dressing down.
You know, you get a wee bitscary when you get your backup.
Yes, and Liam, we talked aboutwe alluded to this a little bit

(37:08):
earlier Liam's, like you know, look, I know that there might be
something between you and Cora, but you still pushed me to talk
to her.

Garry (37:16):
Right.

Amy (37:17):
Or this is Finn saying this to Liam Right, and I want you
to know that I appreciate it andLiam's like oh, you really are
annoyingly decent, aren't you?
You know, it's just so funnybecause he likes Finn.

Garry (37:29):
Yes.

Amy (37:29):
He just doesn't want him to be with cora.
So I just love the back andforth about that and him
struggling with that and all ofhis one-liners.
So that just all works for me,just all all works.
So I'm just really digging it.
Did you have any jeers?

Garry (37:45):
I had two.
Oh okay, yes, oops, sorry wasthe parking lot driving scene.
Oh, where they see Meredith, they switch seats.
Cora drives up, tries to driveto follow her.

Amy (38:02):
Yeah, and a truck comes in and blocks her.

Garry (38:04):
Oh yeah, now I'm going and they like gave up.
And I'm like, come on, rightyou can't honk the horn saying
please, please, whatever, tomove that thing, come on.
Yeah, that was a little, so thatwas a year for me, yeah, and my
last year was the only thingissue I had between Liam and

(38:24):
Cora was the constant back andforth I like you, I don't like
you, I like you, I don't likeyou, I like you, I don't like
you, I like you, I don't likeyou, I like you, I don't like
you.
So that was it for me.
So what about you?
Did you have any jeers?

Amy (38:35):
Well, I mean going back to your jeer, though for a second.

Garry (38:38):
Uh-oh, you have that.
Look on your face.

Amy (38:40):
No, no, no, I don her.
I mean that's the whole.
And I know you're kind of likethat with whatever we watch.
You're like just get on with it.
Yeah, just talk about it andmove on and you know like let's
move forward.
But in this particular case, Ithink it's part of the story in

(39:03):
terms of the struggle withyou're desperately in love with
someone, but you know that theirdestiny might end up getting
them killed right but your heartis telling you to go for them
and she is drawn to him in thatway because she's having these
dreams, right, and she doesn'tknow they're like real right,
they're like she's rememberingfrom 1844, really right, but

(39:28):
they're in her dreams and shefeels drawn to him but can't
explain it.
But yet here's Finn, this niceguy.
So it is like a back and forth, but in the chemistry is there
and it's so strong.
So I mean, I get it, you'reallowed to have that as a cheer,
but I just think that that'spart of the.
That's why you came in.

Garry (39:47):
What were yours?
That's the whole point, oryours?

Amy (39:50):
I just had the one where she's at Magnus' house and he
pulls a gun on her.
You know, because we know he'sa bad guy and you know she asks
him where Meredith is, and youknow he's in on it with Meredith
, she thinks, and where's hergun?

Garry (40:07):
Yeah, she's a police officer, Didn't she?

Amy (40:09):
have one, I thought she had one on her and then she runs
out the door but she goestowards the water Like I didn't
understand, and then she goespolice help.
I just didn't, that scene justdidn't work.

Garry (40:21):
Right, right, that's a good point.

Amy (40:23):
She didn't have her gun with her, I just I just well, I
just I just well, I thought shewell, of course she was on a
date.
So maybe, but I thought she didhave it.

Garry (40:32):
Maybe I just am not remembering correctly.
She found that she found thestolen money from Eli Right.

Amy (40:37):
Right, well, that was.
That was another jeer from meas part of that.
I guess that scene really, because she says she's going to
go to the bathroom and then shegoes and sneaks in his room.

Garry (40:46):
I mean he can hear you Like what are you doing?

Amy (40:50):
You're not going to be able to play that off.
He knows you're a police.
I just felt like that didn'twork that well, but you know,
that's just a small minute thing.

Garry (40:58):
Yeah, yeah.

Amy (40:59):
The rest of it, so all right so out of five corpse.

Garry (41:06):
How many would you give it you?

Amy (41:08):
go first.
I'm going to give it a five.
I just love the storytelling, Ilove the weaving of the story,
I love the different time framesthat we see and I like how they
distinguish them from oneanother.
Present day is very bright.
1844 is dark, darker anyway,it's not dark, I mean we can see
it.
And then you have, of course, the celestial, which is stark

(41:28):
white, and I'm really loving theweaving of the story right so
far.
What would you give it?

Garry (41:37):
well, I guess a five, even though I had my two years.

Amy (41:43):
I really had one you can I really enjoy.

Garry (41:45):
No, I know, that's why I'm saying personal thing, not I
, because I really enjoyed therest of the story and the little
got you with Suzette.
You know that she's an agent.

Amy (41:56):
Yeah, that was surprising.

Garry (41:57):
I hope it's because he has something on her, you know.

Amy (42:01):
That's why I think her face kind of said that.

Garry (42:03):
Right.

Amy (42:04):
That's why I think when she was sitting there, I was really
watching it then like her face, because she seemed kind of like
you know, no, because she tellshim Finn and her are done.
I'm sorry, liam and her aredone.

Garry (42:15):
Right.

Amy (42:15):
Right and she's or no?
Does he want her to be withLiam?
He wants her to be with Liam.

Garry (42:23):
Right, right.
So the past happens again, right right.
So she tells him Right thathe's on track for that.

Amy (42:30):
Right right that she thinks that's going to happen.

Garry (42:33):
I forgot to mention.

Amy (42:34):
But she doesn't know about that last scene though.

Garry (42:37):
No.

Amy (42:37):
About him.

Garry (42:37):
Okay, sorry, go ahead the biblical reference, the bar
Dante.

Amy (42:44):
Oh yes.

Garry (42:45):
I forgot to mention that.

Amy (42:45):
Yes, that's right.

Garry (42:46):
Dante's Inferno Right and the Dante's Bar is the bar that
they go to the the retirementparty is at right, right, okay,
leo's the tavern.
I think it is.

Amy (42:57):
Yes, yes, that's right, it's Dante's Bar.
Yes, is that what it's called, right, yep?

Garry (43:13):
And going back to that box, it did.
It did have a number on itR311-01.
Now you're talking about thebox, that which one Agon had,
where he pulled the VHS tape outof Right, the one that says
Liam and Cora, 19th century, andit kind of references Inferno
and Kanto 3, line 11, that thedash 01 could mean first
occurrence of, I guess, thedevil or whatever.

Amy (43:36):
Oh.

Garry (43:37):
And then Canto 3 in Inferno is where Dante and
Virgil approach the gates ofhell.
Oh, I understand.
So I'm wondering if that wasput in there on purpose.

Amy (43:47):
Maybe because the box number was what Like R311 or
something.

Garry (43:51):
Dash 01.
Dash 01.

Amy (43:53):
So, you're saying those numbers are significant too.

Garry (43:56):
Right In the biblical times Maybe maybe not.

Amy (43:59):
Maybe, maybe not.
I just thought I'd mention it.
Yeah, I don't know.

Garry (44:01):
Right and.

Amy (44:02):
Dante is what now?

Garry (44:04):
Dante, dante, he's from Dante Inferno, who he?
I don't remember all of it.

Amy (44:12):
Right, right it was.
I've heard the phrase Dante'sInferno.
Yeah, it's where I think he wasa poet or something.

Garry (44:19):
And he takes this like sabbatical into the woods and,
you know, just has all theseimages of hell and fire and
whatever.

Amy (44:28):
Oh, okay, I think it's something like that.
I'll have to look it up, but ithas to deal with the darker
side, right, the darker sideMainly.
Okay, okay, all right, well, that's interesting.
So what would you think?
What do you think is going tohappen?
I mean, we have Bale who's fromthe other side right, I have no
idea.
We have Boy boy in on it.

(44:53):
Do you think he's in on it?
Because he keeps do like withcora.

Garry (44:55):
He was asking her are you in on or don't you think it's?
Um, well, he's kind of even inthe 1844s.
He's kind of shade.
He's like when he meets liamand cora at the water, on the
water's edge, liam goes hey, canyou sell palm leaves for me and
give me some money so we can goto the States?
And he's like, well, I couldget more money for that necklace

(45:17):
she's wearing Right and he'slike, no, you're not getting it.
We're not doing that, so it justfeels like he's kind of a fishy
dude.

Amy (45:23):
It kind of does and I found where.
So he thinks Cora is lookinginto murder for hire Right.
For Meredith's husband Husbandyeah, I can't think of their
last name right now, but hethinks it's murder for hire or
Brady John Brady.
But she's looking into Brady'sbusinesses.

(45:47):
She thinks it has to do withthat and he's kind of like oh, I
thought you were looking intothe murder for hire, that was
the goal.
So you wonder, is he trying tosway her away from the business
dealings, because he's part ofit?
And then you have Leo, who isher dad's friend.

(46:07):
Is he into some shady stuff, like you said I?
Wonder if the name of the baris kind of telling us that he's.
Yeah, not on the up and upcould be I mean, we know, bail
is bad right because he's fromthe other side and suzette, I
mean.
What do you think like, I wonder?
Is it going to be a thing whereyou know, as far as liam and
cora and finn, is liam gonnahave to sacrifice his life for
cora so she can be with finn?

(46:28):
Is that how it's going to endup?
Because I'm going to be sad.

Garry (46:30):
That's the way it's playing out.

Amy (46:32):
I'm going to be sad.

Garry (46:33):
But maybe then Finn says, no, I'll do it.
I don't know.
I think it could go either way.

Amy (46:39):
Yeah, I agree.

Garry (46:40):
But I hope they both.

Amy (46:43):
Are you team?
Finn, or are you team?

Garry (46:44):
Liam, I'm Liam.

Amy (46:47):
I just so good.
Why can't we have somebodywhose chemistry is on fire and
it's a good guy?
Let's do that.
Let's do that.

Garry (46:56):
Well, he is a good guy.
He just has some circumstancesgrowing up right, so is that a
wrap.
