Garry (09:48):
And the writers in this
one.
Amy (09:52):
In this one or this series.
Garry (09:54):
This series, the three
Providence Falls books were
written by Jude Devereaux andTara Sheets.
Amy (10:03):
Tara.
Is that a Tara?
Is it Tara, tara?
Garry (10:04):
I don't know, is it Tara
Tara?
I don't know if it's a.
Amy (10:06):
Tara, I don't really know,
but we didn't read those books.
No, we didn't, and I haven'treally seen anything about how
especially the first episodecompares to the first book.
Right so it's a series of threebooks, but we're not sure.
Garry (10:25):
So we'll look into that
and maybe on the next pod we'll
talk about it.
Okay, all three episodes werewritten by teresa kale.
She has eight writing credits, including 24 episodes of trolls
topia.
I like that troll and 28episodes of girl meets world,
world world.
Take another sip, all right Ithink I was in the trolls topia
very cool, and just a little bitmore about providence falls.
Amy (10:45):
I know we're Another sip,
all right.
I think I was in theTrollstopia Very cool and just a
little bit more aboutProvidence Falls.
I know we're discussing a lotbefore we get into the review,
but Joanna Garcia Swisher mostpeople know her recently from
Sweet Magnolias and she was inthe TV series Reba.
Yeah, she was in the TV seriesReba.
Yeah, she discovered and readthe books while in Ireland
(11:07):
shooting the 2021 Hallmark movie, as Luck Would have it.
Garry (11:10):
Wow, isn't that pretty
cool.
Amy (11:12):
That is cool.
So she optioned the rights andthen she set up the project at
Hallmark.
She actually has a book clubcalled Rolling Clover Reads Book
Club.
And this is the first filmadaptation from her new
production company RollingClover.
That's pretty cool.
Garry (11:27):
Good for her.
She's got her hands in all thisstuff.
I love it, she does.
Amy (11:30):
I love it.
So the Providence Falls booksare their August 2025 book club
picks.
Of course, that's awesome.
And most of Providence Fallswas filmed in Vancouver, british
Columbia, canada, and a fewscenes were filmed in Ireland,
although they did a fewon-location shoots.
Garry (11:50):
Okay, so yeah.
Amy (11:52):
Yeah.
Garry (11:53):
Good.
Amy (11:53):
Interesting, pretty cool.
Garry (11:55):
All right, so is it time
to drop the synopsis.
Amy (11:57):
It's time to drop the
synopsis.
All right, let's do it In 1844,Ireland.
Garry (12:03):
A rogue falls for a
squire's daughter, altering her
destiny.
Don't you hate when thathappens?
Amy (12:10):
You're very animated today.
Garry (12:11):
I know Angels send them
to the present day Providence
Falls to correct it.
How dare they?
Amy (12:19):
Or cool or cool yeah.
He must make her fall foranother man, though she's now a
(12:41):
cop with no Chance of a Lifetime.
Watch it and then come back forour review, because we don't
want to ruin anything or spoilany scenes or talk about lines
and quips and the characters.
We don't want to ruin it foryou.
Garry (12:56):
Yes.
Amy (12:56):
There you go.
Garry (12:57):
There you go, there you
have it.
Amy (12:58):
You have your warning.
Garry (13:00):
You've been warned.
Amy (13:01):
You've been warned.
Garry (13:05):
So what did you think?
As you are rubbing your handstogether.
Amy (13:09):
Oh gosh, yeah, I am.
If only we were on video, right?
So you want me to go first withthe first take?
Yes, why don't you?
Garry (13:15):
take a sip.
I'm going to take a sip of wine.
I don't even know.
Amy (13:20):
Well, here's the thing
there was a lot of hype about it
, right, there was a lot of hypeabout it, right, there was a
lot of hype about it and therewere a lot of podcasters who,
you know, got previews of it,who spoke very highly of it.
They didn't give any spoilersaway.
But I watched a lot of like ohmy gosh, this is the best.
It's the most delicious, you'regoing to love it.
(13:40):
Can't wait for you to see it.
You know from several differentpodcasters that I saw on the
socials, right, and they werereally hyping it up and you
always get worried becauseyou're like it's so hyped up, Am
I going to be disappointed?
And I was not disappointed atall you are not.
(14:00):
No, it's so good it is.
Oh, oh my gosh.
So we what we do is we watch we,we, we generally watch the
movies twice, right, we watch itonce just to enjoy it.
Then we watch it a second time.
And this again, and we'vetalked about this, I think,
maybe one other time, but inthis one we, because we try to
take notes so we can rememberand jog our memory about what
(14:21):
happened and all that jazz, andit was like there, there's so
much going on yes, there andthere's so much.
I mean we could sit here andtalk literally and I know we
feel this way about signed, sealed and delivered.
But this one we could sit andgo scene by scene and talk for
over an hour about it becausethere's just so much I would
(14:41):
want to dive into.
It is so good, the actors areso good, the time I don't want
to say jumps, but the going backin time.
So you go between modern day,the 1800s, and you have scenes
with angels.
Garry (15:01):
Yes, right.
Amy (15:02):
It's so well done.
Yes, it is, it's so good, andso you and you can see the
production value right ForHallmark especially, and it's
sort of, you know there's loveinterest, there's a mystery,
there's, you know, murder.
Yeah, it's got it all.
(15:22):
You know there's big, extravagant parties in these
ballrooms Right, and of coursethere's a love triangle that's
in the making or is alreadythere sort of ish, you know, and
depending on what time you'rein.
So I just I loved it from startto finish.
I'm looking forward to the nextepisode.
Garry (15:44):
Yes.
Amy (15:46):
And you know to see what
happens there, because I
literally have no idea, since wedidn't read the books.
Garry (15:52):
Right.
Amy (15:52):
You know I'm trying not to
read too much about anything or
see spoilers or anything for us.
So what do you think?
Garry (15:59):
I think you said it all.
I mean it's the past meets thefuture.
I don't know it was or emulatesthe future, the future emulates
the past and it was very wellshot.
Yes, I loved the costumes.
(16:20):
Good directing right.
Great directing Great stories.
Amy (16:25):
And the writing is so well
adapted.
Garry (16:28):
Yes, like you said, there
was the ballroom, the balls,
the elite parties.
You had the rich, you had thepoor, you had the thieves.
You had the police.
Amy (16:40):
The popo the constables.
Garry (16:43):
And then you had kind of
two other things going on in the
mix.
Amy (16:47):
Right.
Garry (16:47):
So I really liked it.
Amy (16:49):
Really, really loved it and
like you because it doesn't
wrap up.
Garry (16:54):
It carries on to the next
episode or part, and I can't
wait for it.
Amy (17:00):
Which is really wild.
I mean, I don't really know.
You know, we have thesecollections from Hallmark that
have three or four movies.
Garry (17:06):
Right.
Amy (17:07):
Right, we just finished one
with Unwrapping Christmas.
Garry (17:09):
Mm-hmm.
Amy (17:10):
So you know you had.
So we know that they do thissort of thing, but this seems to
be a little different.
So rather than doing it in likean eight-episode series,
they're doing three what hourand 20 minute movies.
So it's interesting.
Garry (17:29):
Yes.
Amy (17:30):
You know.
So it's like a series, butthey're movies and you know, and
you and I even debated abouthow to do this podcast, because
when we do the series we breakit down scene by scene because
they're, you know, 40 minuteepisodes and we can kind of do
that and get into the layers ofthe characters, which we could
do here, but we felt like thatwould be too long.
We're going to stick to ourmovie outline Right, where we
(17:50):
talk about favorite scenes andcheers and jeers and all that
jazz, but it's going to be tough.
Garry (17:56):
Yes, it is.
Amy (17:58):
But yeah, so I agree with
you.
I mean I think it's great.
I I agree with you.
I mean I think it's great, I'mlooking forward to the next one
and I mean I guess we shouldsort of set the premise.
Garry (18:07):
Do you think we could?
Yes, let's do that, you do it.
I'm going to take a sip of wine.
Amy (18:11):
You want me to just do it?
Garry (18:11):
Okay.
Amy (18:13):
So you have at the very
beginning.
It starts off in the 1800s, soI guess it's late 1800s, right?
Garry (18:18):
Yes.
Amy (18:19):
And the main characters,
liam and Cora, are running
through the woods.
They're being chased.
You're not really sure what'sgoing on, right, and they kind
of stop.
Garry (18:28):
Mm-hmm.
Amy (18:29):
And he kind of tells her.
Doesn't he tell her to go on,or I don't know?
Yes, he tells her to go on.
I'm losing it right this second.
Garry (18:39):
He tells her to go on and
he would stay and kind of lead
them off, right, so she couldescape and she's like where you
go, I go Remember.
Amy (18:47):
And you know what that
reminded me of this little
sidebar.
Garry (18:49):
Okay, sidebar.
Amy (18:50):
Titanic.
Garry (18:51):
You jump, I jump Right.
Amy (18:52):
Jump, I jump Right.
Garry (18:54):
Yes.
Amy (18:55):
Jack Rose, you jump, I jump
Right.
Anyway, just a little sidebar, that's what that reminded me of.
So you have them in the past.
Cora falls Right, right andthen he, you know, goes and
grabs her and then she kind oftalks, she speaks for a second
(19:15):
and then we presume she diesright right, and then he gets
grabbed by the crowd that's beenchasing him and he's a thief,
and so they're chasing himbecause, you know, we presume
that he's done something and orthey think he has they think he
murdered right yeah right.
Oh, you think that's that right, right, so so then.
So then you cut to modern dayand you kind of meet right, yeah
(19:40):
, you meet Cora.
Garry (19:41):
Cora.
Amy (19:42):
Who is modern day?
She is a police officer, yeah, and she's at the coffee shop and
her friend Suzette owns thecoffee shop.
Cora's just gotten a promotionand then in walks Finn Right,
and he's like an assistant orhe's like a district attorney or
whatever, and they kind of chatfor a second.
Garry (20:02):
Who likes tea?
Amy (20:03):
Right and there's been a
robbery.
Yes, he likes tea, finn likestea.
And then you kind of cut to theangels who are talking to Liam.
Garry (20:12):
Yes.
Amy (20:12):
And you find out he's sort
of been stuck in this.
In between he's been stuck inlimbo and you find out, he's
sort of been stuck in this.
In between, he's been stuck inlimbo and they're closing down
the shop where he is which iskind of funny.
That's hilarious, and they haveto find what all souls must be
allocated one way or the other.
And they say either you know.
H-e-double-l hockey sticks, hockey sticks right, and Liam
doesn't know what that isbecause he's from the 1800s.
Garry (20:34):
Yes.
Amy (20:35):
He doesn't understand
hockey sticks, so that's kind of
where they are.
So he has to choose to goforward in time or back in time,
maybe it's modern time, I don'tknow.
So he has to choose to go tothe modern world and he has to
make sure that Cora finds hertrue destiny Finn yes, which he
(20:59):
screwed up in the 1800s, becausethe angels tell Liam that she
was actually destined for FinnYep, and he messed that up.
Garry (21:03):
Yeah, he did.
Amy (21:04):
Because she fell in love
with him.
Instead, one could argue thatthat was actually the destiny,
right I?
Guess we'll get there in one ofthe other movies.
So that's kind of where we are.
So he has to go back and he hasall of his memories from the
1800s, which I think is prettycool he's trying to learn the
modern day yes and he can'tinterfere with her and finn.
(21:26):
Yes and it's going to be verydifficult for him to do, because
it's the love of his life andhe remembers all of that yes, he
does are we?
Is that the premise?
Garry (21:34):
Yes.
Amy (21:35):
Okay, so that's where we
are.
Garry (21:37):
Yes, Right, but also in
the meantime, cora is trying to
solve a— there's been a robbery.
There's been a robbery a Larsonof jewelry stores there's been
a couple and then they comeacross one that seems to be— she
(21:57):
doesn't think it's the samegroup of people that are doing
it, but her, her boss, seems tothink it's the same.
Amy (22:05):
So you have that going on
Right, right and I think, and
then you know, you kind of findout that, which I thought was
pretty cool, that you know theangels tell him seven souls were
reincarnated.
Yeah, right, so they've soulswere reincarnated.
Yeah Right, so they've all beenreincarnated except for him.
He was the only one stuck inthe in-between and it's been
like 200 years right.
Garry (22:25):
But you know it's cool.
I'd rather have been in limboand be able to remember
everything.
Amy (22:30):
Yeah, Well, yeah.
I guess, I don't know, maybe, but I like how he said, you know
, he says what were the names be?
Will they be the same?
And she says names tend tostick to souls.
And I was like, oh, I love thatline, I love that line.
Garry (22:46):
Yes.
Amy (22:47):
So let's talk meet cute, or
should I say meet cutes.
Yes, because we have to talkabout two different ones right.
Garry (22:54):
Yes.
Amy (22:54):
We have to talk about the
1800 ones, right?
Yes, we have to talk about the1800s meet cute.
Yes, and then the modern day.
Which one do you want to dofirst?
Garry (22:59):
Let's do the past.
Amy (23:00):
Okay, let's do the 1800s
first.
Yes, so what did you?
Garry (23:05):
I loved it.
Yes, me too, I loved how hetried to sneak into the house.
Well, he picked a lock.
Guess she was laying in thedark for him, you just don't
know.
And all of a sudden he's got asword against his neck Right.
Amy (23:21):
And then you're like whoop,
whoop.
Garry (23:23):
And then they have this
discussion and he realizes it's
not a real sword, it's just thepractice one, and so he's fine
with that.
And they go back and forth andshe likes who he is Right.
They go back and forth and shelikes who he is.
She thinks he's a good personeven though he's there to steal
something, and so they have thisgreat back and forth banter
that I thought was really cute.
Amy (23:44):
It was.
It worked, it worked reallywell.
And I think we forgot tomention that the angel Aegon yes
, Aegon.
He has in heaven or whereverthey are.
Garry (23:55):
Yeah, the purgatory.
The purgatory, not purgatory,the in-between.
Amy (24:00):
The lounge.
He has actually put in VHS tapeto watch on this old TV and
that's where you see the sceneof the meet cute in the past.
He puts it in and we start tosee what he's seeing as how they
met, because he's got to learneverything about them, right.
Garry (24:17):
That reminds me of it's a
Wonderful Life.
Amy (24:20):
A little bit, a little bit,
where the angels are watching
what happened.
Garry (24:23):
And they send what's his
name down to help George.
Amy (24:26):
Yeah, because he's going to
go, yeah, he's going to go in
modern day.
Garry (24:29):
Yeah, you know heaven had
VHS recorders.
Yep Wow Heaven.
Amy (24:38):
Come on now.
So then we go to the meet cuteand modern day.
Yes, right, it's kind of a coolscene because he gets um, I
like the irish music you know,he kind of gets sucked into the
modern day yes you know, and umhe, he first meets boyd and then
they go to the robbery wherecora is and that's where they
first meet and she's like havewe met before?
And he's like not in thislifetime.
Garry (24:59):
That's a terrible.
Amy (25:00):
Irish accent, but whatever
it was good.
So I thought that was kind ofcute and I loved his one-liners,
which we'll get to throughouteverything.
And then his phone goes off andhe doesn't really know what to
do with it and he's like what'sthat noise know?
What to do with it and he'slike what's that noise?
Garry (25:18):
He has no idea.
Which I thought was kind ofcute.
Amy (25:20):
So this me cute doesn't go
off as well as it did in the
past.
Well, I mean, she did have asword to his throat in the past.
I don't know if I'd say thatwent off well, but in the end it
did.
Garry (25:30):
But this one she's kind
of like, okay, who are you?
It sounds good, kind of likeall right sounds good.
Amy (25:35):
So yeah, I thought they
both were great.
Garry (25:38):
Yeah, they were.
Amy (25:38):
In both times.
Garry (25:41):
Yeah, and I like how they
didn't make them the same Right
, so that was good.
Amy (25:44):
Right, they were different.
Different, yes, all right, soyou want to talk some favorite
scenes.
Garry (25:52):
Yes, let's do All right.
Yes, let's do start this oneoff.
Why you want me to start thisone off?
Amy (26:05):
okay, so I really liked the
scene.
Now I keep in mind I could talkabout every scene.
Yeah, in this it's very easyright, so I'm just trying to
pick up what I thought the barscene.
Yes, we're so.
So liam um is encouraged by Ithink he's encouraged by Aegon.
Garry (26:17):
Aegon yeah.
Amy (26:18):
Like you need to go out,
and he's like do you want to go
hang, you know?
And he doesn't understand thatit means, it doesn't mean like a
hanging.
Garry (26:25):
Yeah, it's back in the
old days.
Amy (26:27):
So Liam in modern day asks
Korra and then Finn is there and
he's like you can go to, youcan join us too.
So then they go to a bar andher friend Suzette shows up,
right, and so it's like the fourof them and I just really liked
I don't know, I liked thatwhole scene because she's
starting to gravitate towardsFinn.
(26:48):
Liam doesn't really like it.
He's talking to Suzette.
To Suzette, yeah, and she's team, liam at that point and he's
like, really like you, you know, and she says, she says
something about having a horsein the race yes and he goes.
Finally, a metaphor I canunderstand which I thought was
really funny because people havebeen saying stuff to him and he
doesn't know he doesn'tunderstand because he's, you
(27:09):
know 1800s man liam, which he'sgot, so, um, I thought that was,
that was really cute.
and then he you know he cute.
And then he wants to try tointerrupt Finn and Korra when
they're talking.
I don't know if they're dancing, but they're talking by like
the jukebox and things, andAegon has to say no, you can't
do that.
That's not your destiny.
(27:31):
You have to stay out of the way.
So I liked that scene.
That was one of my favoritescenes.
What about you?
Garry (27:39):
That was one of my
favorite scenes, but I also
liked the the, the, the scenewith the angels, when he first
meets them and he's trying tofigure out where they.
You know where is he?
where he's been and they're likeyou've been dead for 200 years
yeah and him and um agon aregoing back and forth and she,
(28:01):
she says quiet or something, andthe scene kind of shakes and
her voice gets real deep.
I was like I like those scenesbecause I thought it was pretty
cool because they kept it kindof like this white off-white
colors that they were allwearing.
And then she was telling was itHagan or was it?
(28:27):
Yeah, or was it Samuel?
No, not Samuel, liam, liam, where she said yeah, cora, you
got to look at all her recordsor whatever.
Amy (28:39):
And he looks up and it's
like this huge she says that to
Aegon.
Garry (28:42):
Aegon yeah, and Aegon
looks up and he's like that's a
lot of Korra.
Amy (28:46):
When she said she has a big
destiny or her destiny is.
Garry (28:50):
Is big Is big, or
something like that.
Amy (28:55):
Yeah, but.
But in that first angel scenethey say to Liam, if it makes
you feel any better, you're deadtoo.
And he's like why?
Garry (29:02):
would that make me feel?
Amy (29:03):
any better.
I thought that was so funny.
It was funny.
That's the scene you're talkingabout, right?
Yes, yeah.
Garry (29:10):
It was funny.
Amy (29:11):
I appreciated that.
I thought that that was cuteyeah.
Garry (29:14):
So did you have another
favorite scene.
Amy (29:16):
I have lots of them, but we
only have so much time.
Garry (29:19):
Yes, I know.
Amy (29:22):
So if I had to choose and
narrow it down, I would say the
ball right.
The police ball Agon gives Liama flyer to the ball, and that's
when Liam has the flashback ofthe one from the 1800s.
Garry (29:34):
Yes.
Amy (29:35):
Right, which I thought is
cool, and you know, prior to
that, Liam talks about howthings are happening.
Garry (29:40):
the same way they did in
the 1800s.
Amy (29:44):
But while Cora is getting
ready for the ball in the modern
day, liam says something like Iknow how you lasses are and
she's like what are you 80?
And he says try 108, you knowor?
Whatever, which I thought wascute.
So he's waiting for her andthen she comes out in this you
know, beautiful dress and she'slike is the dress too much?
(30:04):
And he's like it would only betoo much if someone couldn't get
it off you.
Garry (30:09):
And I'm like Hallmark.
Amy (30:12):
Isn't that what he said?
Garry (30:13):
Yes, that's exactly what
he said yeah, and.
Amy (30:15):
I thought that was so great
.
Garry (30:17):
And I had it as one of my
favorite scenes.
Amy (30:19):
So then you have, you know,
the zipper.
So she asked him to zip it upand it's just such a romantic
scene when he's zipping it upand he just so badly wants to
turn her around and kiss her,but he can't.
And he's trying to abide bywhat he's supposed to do, but
(30:39):
he's so drawn by fate, right, some would argue, destiny and
fate, his own fate, but he's,you know.
And then he zips it up and it'sjust really slow, it's really
well shot.
Their expressions are perfect.
She turns around and theyalmost kiss yes right and then
(31:01):
what she's like.
You know we need to leave orright whatever, I don't know she
his phone goes off.
I think it is that what it isokay, okay so, and then they go
to the.
They go to the police ball andcora tells suzette that because
suz's, like which one are yougoing to pick?
Finn or Liam, finn or Liam?
And she feels torn because Finnmakes her feel safe and Liam's
(31:24):
a wild card, you know, notknowing, but also a deep knowing
with him.
She feels like she's met himbefore and it's how she felt in
the past, right Like who she wasgoing to marry was safe, a safe
bet.
Garry (31:38):
Yep.
Amy (31:38):
But she was more drawn to
the person who was, you know,
kind of the bad boy, but sheknew deep down he was good and
decent.
He just needed someone to help.
You know, show him the way.
And in the meantime, liam andFinn are talking, and this is
again still at the ball, and Iforget what Finn.
Finn says something to Liam, like he says something
(32:02):
complimentary to Liam and Liam'slike.
You're vexingly decent, aren'tyou?
Garry (32:06):
Like it makes him upset.
Amy (32:08):
You know, like God, I can't
believe you're a nice guy.
Garry (32:11):
Yeah, finn is like yeah,
yeah.
Amy (32:14):
So I just I really liked.
You know, obviously the zipperscene stands out the most, but
that sort of leads into the ballRight, when more happens.
So Right.
What about you?
Garry (32:27):
another favorite scene
yeah, I thought it was funny
when now that whole okay, wehave to understand, this is not
your typical hallmark romancetype scene okay right.
I mean especially if you go tothe back, to the past, right
when they first kiss it's likepassionate it's like a
passionate kiss.
Amy (32:45):
It's like a passionate kiss
.
It's not that hallmark wherethey're just holding their lips
there, people.
Garry (32:50):
This is, there is some
chemistry going on.
Amy (32:53):
There is a lot of chemistry
.
These actors are fantastic.
Let me tell you.
Garry (32:58):
But you were talking
about how.
Liam Lots of chemistry In thepresent doesn't understand
certain things Right.
And another one was when Boydsaid I'd give you a ride.
Oh yeah, the scene is Boyd andLiam are in a car and he goes.
Oh, I thought you were going to, I thought you had a stable or
(33:20):
something.
Amy (33:22):
I thought you were talking
about horses.
I thought that was so cute, that was really cute, that was
really cute.
Garry (33:27):
He just drops that, but
also Suzette.
I like some of her little line.
Amy (33:32):
Yeah, she had some.
Garry (33:35):
Because when was it at
the ball?
When they were going to playsomething from the jukebox, or
they were at the jukebox.
It was Suzette, finn and Coraand Suzette goes.
They were talking aboutsomething and Suzette goes.
I forgot my excuse to beanywhere but here.
Amy (33:53):
That's right.
She did say that that was funny.
Garry (33:56):
So she's like I'm out,
third wheel gone Bye.
So that was kind of one of myfavorite scenes too.
Amy (34:03):
Right, right Now.
Is that good for scenes?
Do Right, no, I um.
Is that good for scenes, Do youthink?
Yeah, I mean there's so manythat we love.
Those are kind of the ones thatthat really stood out.
But every everything justworked in this.
I mean we could talk aboutcheers and you know you want to
(34:23):
go first or you want.
Garry (34:24):
Yeah, and you know, do
you want to go first?
Yeah, I loved how Cora has thislittle side business going on
of helping teens, well, not abusiness, but right, right,
right.
Well, she wants to make it abusiness.
Amy (34:36):
Right.
Garry (34:36):
She wants to give young
teenagers a second chance, you
know, because they're forgotten.
That's what it's called right,Right, second chances and
throughout the show or the movieshe's talking to Liam and she's
explaining all this.
And there's this one kid Is itis his name, jake.
Amy (34:56):
No, dominic, dominic,
Dominic.
Garry (34:58):
And she's kind of, you
know, drawn to him because of
his situation.
He has a stepdad and you're notsure what's going on there, but
he is kind of forceful withthis guy and I just like how
Liam sat down with him.
Amy (35:19):
Sat down with Dominic.
Dominic, yes at the center, because he's like, are you?
Garry (35:23):
a cop and he's like no,
he goes yeah you don't fit that
profile kind of thing.
And they kind of had thislittle back and forth and I just
thought it was cool because youknow Liam made him feel, you
know Well, and Liam said to himyou know, I wish I had someone
to help me when I was your ageRight.
Amy (35:41):
Because Liam got into a lot
of trouble because he was a
thief in the 1800s.
Garry (35:45):
So yeah, so that was one
of my cheers.
What about you?
What are your?
Amy (35:47):
cheers.
I just really.
I mean, I honestly don't knowif I could pinpoint a cheer Like
I loved all of it.
We haven't even talked aboutMeredith yet.
Garry (35:59):
Yes.
Amy (36:00):
And how.
You know, in the past she washaving an affair with Liam
because she was married.
He was not right.
He was a thief and everything, and they kind of break up a
little bit in the past.
Same thing happens in modernday.
Right, she comes to the ball.
She sees how he's attracted toCora.
Garry (36:20):
Cora yep.
Amy (36:20):
And she starts to leave.
And here's where the decent guycomes in, right?
Yeah, he understands theparallel between the past and
the present, and in the past herhusband gets murdered, right?
And then and then in thepresent, he knows it's going to
happen that night, so he stallsher, he goes away with her from
the police right and basicallybides his time and in the
(36:43):
meantime calls the police and islike, hey, something's going on
at this house which gets himinto trouble later but anyway
with an american accent right, right with an american accent
which is pretty good.
Um, so I just I liked theparallels of that.
I love you know jessica ceposas an actress yes and she's
she's really great in this too.
Um, so you know I loved thatdynamic as well, I loved.
(37:08):
Another cheer for me would beyou know, liam loves her
desperately and you see that atthe beginning, and then you know
he's resistant to helping her, helping cora get together with
finn, but then he realizes thatit got her killed last time.
Garry (37:27):
His love for her got her
killed in the 1800s and he
doesn't want to do that again.
Amy (37:32):
So he's kind of rectified
with it so, but then at the end
she wants to be with him.
Garry (37:39):
Yes.
Amy (37:39):
Right, so at the end of the
episode, which spoiler alert,
sorry, and that's where it ends,I mean nothing happens after
that.
But you know, she kind ofprofesses like you're the one I
want to be with.
I feel this.
You know I'm drawn to you.
I don't know why.
And now he's probably in thisquandary again of what do?
Garry (37:59):
I do what do?
Amy (38:00):
I do Because everything is
mirroring the past and he knows
that.
I mean what a story a storyright, I mean.
Garry (38:07):
So my cheers are like the
whole thing yeah because there
was, there was three, threefamilies in the past, which was
the sullivans uh the omalies andthe sheets and you don't know
yeah, but they got raw they, they got raw their houses right
right, and so the same thing iskind of happening in the present
, and what you don't know isthat Liam can't physically touch
(38:30):
Cora.
Right Because what's her name?
Samal Samil Samil.
Amy (38:36):
Samil, we'll get it for
next time.
We'll get it for next time.
Garry (38:41):
Put this kind of if you
want to call it a spell,
whatever.
If he goes to touch her he getslike zapped he gets zapped.
Amy (38:48):
That's the rub.
Right, that's the rub.
That's the rub that he can'ttouch her Right.
Garry (38:53):
So I thought that was
kind of a cool concept of the
whole thing.
But Cora had mentioned toSuzette that she thinks Liam is
the man in her dreams.
Amy (39:07):
Right, she does say that
because she had a dream at the
very beginning.
She's dreaming about whathappened in the past.
Garry (39:13):
What happened?
Amy (39:13):
in the past Right, right,
right.
We haven't even talked aboutthe necklace.
Garry (39:16):
No, and that was going to
be one of my other cheers was.
I love how she said why did youcome to rob me?
What were you going to steal?
And he tells her it's thenecklace.
And she said in such a way itwas like, well, that kind of
sucks because my mom gave methis, but, being the nice person
(39:38):
she is and seeing the nicenessin Liam, she takes it off to
give it to him so he could gosell it to get himself Now,
that's in the 1800s at the ballRight To get himself straight.
Amy (39:49):
Right.
Garry (39:50):
And I thought that was so
like wow genuine.
I'm telling you in the pastthat chemistry between them was.
Amy (39:58):
That's when they get really
whooping up Was running boy,
Well right now he's trying toavoid it and she doesn't know
what she wants and so we're notreally sure.
And Finn's a really nice guy,but do nice guys always you know
nice guys finish last for areason sometimes right, and all
the one liners from him.
You know he's from the past, soeverything that's modern like
(40:20):
his phone he can't figure out.
I thought that was really funny.
The language he uses, like youknow, he orders an ale at the
bar, he says glasses, he's likethat's my language, you know it
just.
Yeah, it was just all of itjust really, really worked for
me.
I don't know.
Garry (40:36):
Yeah.
Amy (40:36):
And then you do find out
he's a good guy because he did
see Dominic and his dad doingsomething like bad at a gas
station.
Garry (40:45):
Right, his stepdad, his
stepdad, his stepdad, sorry.
Amy (40:47):
Yeah, trying to steal
credit card numbers.
Garry (40:51):
Yes.
Amy (40:51):
And so Liam could easily
turn them in.
That would give him an alibifor the murder of Meredith's
husband.
Garry (40:57):
Right, but he doesn't In
the present Because he doesn't
in the present.
He doesn't want to upset Coraor get the kid in trouble Right.
Amy (41:05):
Because you know so, he is
a decent guy deep down.
So yeah, I just it all workedfor me, yeah.
Garry (41:12):
And then they solved the
jewelry store heist because you
know spoiler alert.
Amy (41:18):
They solved one part of it.
Garry (41:19):
Just that, the fake one,
the jewelry store heist.
They solved, yes, the copycat, yeah, yeah.
Amy (41:25):
So so they solved, yes, the
copycat, yeah, yeah.
So they solved that, andthere's more to come, though.
Yes, because there's moreheists and there's the murder,
the murder, and we're not surehow everything is going to come
together.
Garry (41:34):
Right.
Amy (41:34):
I don't know, did you have
any jeers?
Garry (41:36):
I had none.
Amy (41:37):
I have no notes.
Garry (41:38):
No.
None, none Zero je, I totallyloved everything about this show
.
Amy (41:43):
I know Me too, me too.
Garry (41:45):
I mean, I'm just going to
leave it at that.
I'm speechless.
Amy (41:51):
Well, so out of five corks,
how many corks would you give
this one?
And if I had, I could probablyguess, but you can tell me.
Garry (42:00):
Let's see For the past
five, for the angels five and
for the present five same, sameand same yes, I would go five,
yes, five, and five, fiveoverall.
Yeah and I'm looking forward tothe rest of it me too, me too.
Amy (42:17):
Well done hallmark yeah and
actors and writers and
directors, and production.
Well, well done.
We're so looking forward to thenext two episodes.
Garry (42:27):
And is there anything
like this one?
Well, they're calling themepisodes, but they're movies.
But yeah, Anything like thisone, we're in for a treat.
We're ready, I'm ready to solvethe mystery.
So is that a wrap?
