Have you ever been to Vancouver?
No, I have not, we should go.
Yeah, we should.

Kansas City.

Yeah, well, they do a pretty good job.
Yeah, I would have known.

Amy (01:37):
I also read that David James Elliott is joining the

Do you know who that is?

Amy (01:43):
He was on the TV series Jag .

Garry (01:45):

Amy (03:12):
He always hoards the wine, he pours it and keeps it by him.

Garry (03:15):
Well you know I try, but hey, who are we adding to the
cast list today?

Amy (03:22):
so what we usually do is we listed most of the actors and
actresses in the first fewepisodes.
And then, moving forward, weadd if there are new actors or
actresses, we try to talk aboutthem and add them to the running
list that we have, but today wedon't need to add anyone.
I believe we added young, mayand young.

Garry (03:45):
Amanda previously.
Yeah.

Amy (03:47):
I'll have to double check that.
If we didn't, we'll do it onthe next episode.
Yes, we did see more ofGrooster and the pastor this
episode, but we also mentionedthem previously, so if you'd
like to listen to the castlisting, up to date to episode
five.
Check out the first part of ourreviews of episodes one through
four.
Yes, and you will hear episodesone through four.

Garry (04:05):
Yes, and you will hear everybody, or mostly everybody.

Amy (04:08):
Yeah, well, you know I don't like to say everybody, and
then somebody come and go.
Oh, you didn't mention.

Garry (04:12):
But we're trying, we're trying, we're trying, we're
trying.

Amy (04:15):
So just hang in there, yep.

Garry (04:17):
So we're good with actors and actresses for this episode,
so you want A little Hallmarktrivia.
Oh sure Something else I won'tknow, so exciting so exciting
Something else I won't know.

Amy (04:27):
Lay it on me.
What do you?

Garry (04:28):
got.
What do you got?
So in what year did HallmarkDrama?

Amy (04:32):
Oh you're asking me the year.
This time yes, because lasttime you just said it.
I know I kind of ruined thetrivia, didn't I?
No, you didn't.
Hallmark drama become Hallmarkfamily 2007?
.

Garry (04:47):
No later 2017?

Amy (04:50):
Way later, 2022?
.

Garry (04:53):
Keep going.

Amy (04:54):
I have no idea.
24?
.

Garry (04:55):
Yes, 2024.

Amy (04:57):
What.

Garry (04:58):
Hallmark drama became Hallmark family, hallmark family
.

Amy (05:01):
Okay, yes, okay.

Garry (05:03):
There you have it, people .

Amy (05:04):
I didn't think that would be that recent, but obviously we
have no idea.
No, I have no idea, I justlooked these up.

Garry (05:10):
I just thought they'd be kind of cool to do, there you go
.
Before we dive into this.
So, speaking of diving in, it'stime to drop the synopsis.

Amy (05:17):
Let's drop the synopsis for episode five, not the
hydrangeas y'all.
Season one, right amanda andmay reconnect.
Despite participating in akitchen clash competition,
however, amanda feels drawn backto frannies and frank jr,
creating a conflict between herpersonal ties and professional
ambitions yes yes, sometimes Ithink that the descriptions of

(05:43):
the episodes aren't totallyaccurate right I felt that way a
couple times but we'll talkabout it.

Garry (05:49):
We'll talk about it.
I can see that, yeah, so um,what did you think?

Amy (05:56):
what did I think well during this episode?
Um, let's see, we learned a lotabout may and am Amanda's
relationship.

Garry (06:06):
Oh yeah, we did.

Amy (06:06):
Yeah, they were.
There were some interestingtidbits which we'll go into more
detail in a little bit.
So I really, I really this ismy favorite episode to date.

Garry (06:17):
You know what the humor the?

Amy (06:19):
drama, the emotion, it had it all.
I mean, we literally laughedout loud during this episode and
there were lots of one-linersagain.
So you, so you get a glimpseinto amanda and may and their
sort of preconceived notionsabout one another.
And then they, they have some, you know, some deep discussions,

(06:40):
some lighter discussions, somefun.
So it was just a really greatepisode for their relationship.
Um, what else did we have?
we had gus and nancy, of coursewe had a couple great great
scenes with the two of them andtheir what rivalry I guess, um
so, and I think we're going tofind out more.
Amanda and frank jr's washighlighted.

(07:03):
I don't know how they squeezeall of this in 40 minutes.
Well, it's an hour episode butwithout the commercials, it's
like what 40, 45 minutes, andthen we see more of the pastor
and little crushes on the pastor, the inappropriate things that
are said in church about thepastor which are kind of funny
so we get more of a glimpse ofhim.

(07:25):
Just overall, I thought it wasjust a great episode, now that
we're on the downward slope ofthe season, yes, what about you?
What do you think?

Garry (07:35):
I too feel like these characters had like a eureka
moment.
Yeah, with each other.
Yeah, right, like you said, amanda, and May you hadrina and
her daughter you had.

Amy (07:49):
Oh yes, I didn't even mention sabrina.
Yes, we saw they and theyweren't in it.
They were in it, they weresprinkled throughout the episode
, but you got a lot.
Yes, you did from their, fromtheir appearances.
So go ahead.

Garry (08:01):
I'm sorry and you had, let's just say, patrick and May,
they kind of Patrick and May.

Amy (08:07):
Right Right, that was like a tiny yeah, that was tiny Again
.

Garry (08:11):
You had Nancy and Gus, and then you had Frankie, and
then you had her dad and her momRight.

Amy (08:21):
Frankie and her dad Frank Jr, and Amanda and Amanda Right
Right.
Frankie and her dad Frank Jr,and Amanda and Amanda Right
right, right and.

Garry (08:25):
I just thought the way the writer just wove all that
together was brilliant.

Amy (08:31):
Yes, yes, it was a great, a great episode.
Where do you want to startfirst?
Which relationship?

Garry (08:37):
should we dive into first ?
Let's do Amanda and May,because I thought it was really,
really fun to watch from thebeginning when the narrator was
talking about how they wereyoung and how they, as they were
growing up, they startednoticing things and they were
telling the story.

Amy (08:56):
Noticing things about.
Like what people were saying inthe town Right, because they
were Mimi's girls.

Garry (09:04):
And then how, later on it actually came back around,
brought them together as sistersand how you would think sisters
would be, you know.
But let's start with them.
Let's start with May and Amanda.

Amy (09:16):
I agree with you.
I think we just learned a lotabout how May protected Amanda
and really looked over her andshielded her from things that
were really going on when theywere younger and we kind of
touched on that in the lastepisode and I thought it was
interesting.
So they end up staying togetherin the same room in the inn.
It's not a hotel right.

Garry (09:37):
It's like an inn or a bed and breakfast or whatever.

Amy (09:40):
Yeah, so they're staying at the inn and in the same room
and you know, they're kind of alittle bit combative at first,
but Amanda's more combative thanMay, may is kind of really
appreciating that she's stayingwith her kind of wants it, and
doesn't realize that Amanda sortof harbors all this, not
animosity, but maybe a littlebit of animosity against me, or

(10:03):
not animosity, but she thinksshe views me as perfect and it's
just.
It was so interesting to me fortheir perceptions of each other
to be off you know, totally off.
Yeah, I mean.
Amanda thinks that may isperfect and everything in her
life is perfect.
And you know, and you and youknow that may is.
May lost her show.
May is imperfect.

(10:24):
May has down moments.
Her relationship with herfiance isn't going the way that
Amanda thinks.
Right she doesn't know thatthey've.
You know that he's not speakingto her now.

Garry (10:34):
Right.

Amy (10:35):
And you know so, and I think that May is constantly
trying to build up Amanda andshe's not doing it correctly by
bashing her current husband.

Garry (10:45):
Yeah, but she's trying to .

Amy (10:47):
You know, may Wants her to leave and Amanda can't
understand why May left.
So I left the town.
So I just, I just thought itwas.
I thought it was great.
You know, I mean.

Garry (11:00):
I like how they they were playful with each other Once
they got comfortable beingaround each other again.

Amy (11:06):
Yes, yes, the pillow fighting.

Garry (11:08):
I liked how she was like, Ooh, you got a crush.

Amy (11:10):
That whole scene right there she was talking about.
It was very I liked how she waslike ooh, you got a crush.
That whole scene right therewhere she was talking about ooh,
you're like a chicken drawing.

Garry (11:16):
Yeah, you kind of see their closeness and that's a
Sergio, yes, sergio.
So I thought that was cute andinteresting that they put that
in there.
And then they talked about thefirst kiss with Sergio and you
know the girly thing, like, oh,it was, I'm not going to tell
you how it was.
And then May turns around andshe counts down her fingers and
she's like, okay, I'll tell you.

Amy (11:34):
It was great, that's really good.
And then May jumps up and downand she screams, even though
that's inappropriate becauseAmanda's married, but you know,
but May is, but it was just agood sisterly.

Garry (11:45):
Yeah, Because she was like it's never going to happen
again and then May was like doit again, Do it again.

Amy (11:50):
Yeah, it was just.
It was really cute, so they hadthis like push and pull almost
throughout the whole episode.

Garry (11:57):
Yes, and it was fun to watch.
It was really fun to watch.

Amy (12:06):
And then Amanda.
It's interesting too, becauseAmanda is kind of like I don't
even know why I did that, andyou know.
And May is like well, maybe, basically like, maybe you're
unhappy, maybe Frank Jr pushedyou away, maybe you wanted out
Right, and that was your way ofacting out.

Garry (12:17):
Exactly.

Amy (12:18):
Not condoning it, but you know.
So yeah, I thought that thatwas.
And then the pillow sack race.

Garry (12:24):
That was funny, was really cute, especially when
Sabrina walks up and kind oflooks at both of them standing
there with pillowcases, and thenshe's almost like you, do you?
And then, as she's walking upto the stairs, she goes.
What did she say?
Something about the Shining.

Amy (12:40):
Oh, she says this place is like the Shining or something.
Yeah, something like that.

Garry (12:45):
That's not the exact quote, but yeah, if you ever
watch the Shining it kind ofdoes?

Amy (12:48):
bring back that moment With the two girls in the hallway,
kind of thing.
Red rum, red rum, Crazy yeahyeah, so I thought it was just,
it was great.

Garry (12:58):
Yeah.

Amy (12:58):
It was great.
You know, and I think that yousee where May is almost too
comfortable in sort of bashingFrank Jr.
Yeah, because it's stillAmanda's husband and even though
Amanda's mad at him, it's stillher husband, yeah, and you know
, and the father of her child.
So it's just an interestingdialogue that they had, yeah.

Garry (13:18):
So what did you think about the dynamic between
Sabrina and her daughter?

Amy (13:26):
Oh, you want to.
So first of all can we justtalk about how, Sabrina, she
gets drunk at the drop.
Yes In the last episode right,so she's hungover in the morning
and she is looking rough rightLike rough in the morning.
She can't, she doesn't want thelights on, she's just yeah,
yeah.
So it's pretty interesting.
And then of course, herdaughter, lindsay, is kind of

(13:48):
like oh, you're drunk, huh, Ithought we weren't supposed to
get drunk.
You know kind of like do as Isay Not, as I do.
Yeah, she does call her ahypocrite, so it's kind of
interesting.
So for most of the episodeSabrina does not look good, she
looks hungover right.
She's just kind of floatingaround.
And then you know her daughter, lindsay, and this will kind of

(14:09):
be a sidebar since you broughtthem up.
You know when Lindsay istalking to Frankie she's
basically glorifying the divorceof her parents.
Like oh, it's great and thereare some good.
She gets, she has two bedrooms, she has two Christmases.

Garry (14:24):
She has two birthdays.

Amy (14:26):
So you know it's the best thing that ever happened to her
family.
And then Sabrina in thebackground is sort of you know,
upset that her ex-husband isgetting remarried and he has a
little ping and he has all themoney and they travel and all

(14:54):
that, and, and then you find outthat you know lindsey's waiting
for a phone call or a zoomright from her dad and it never
happens right.
And then you see her break downover the divorce, over the fact
she doesn't see her dad thatmuch and she leans on her mom
more even though they kind ofhave a little bit of a combative
relationship and, to Sabrina'scredit, she's not happy.

(15:21):
Her daughter is upset that herex-husband treated her this way.
She comforts her, and so Ithought it was a really, really
good insight and I like thatSabrina said don't settle for
stingy love.

Garry (15:33):
Yeah, that was really good yeah yeah, you deserve big
love.

Amy (15:36):
Love, you don't have to ask for.

Garry (15:38):
I thought that was so good and so profound and I'm
like wow, they have a lot ofthat in the episodes, a lot of
good, you know.

Amy (15:46):
Advice, advice, yes, thank you.
Life lessons.
But I also like the fact thatshe didn't bash her dad.

Garry (15:57):
Right, right, she did not , sabrina didn't write her
ex-husband, she just said youknow I'm sorry you're upset
Right, and you've always saidyou know, don't ever bash the
other person.
You know you never know theycould reconcile and all this
other stuff.
So just be graceful and justyou know, tell the people you
know it's going to be all right.

Amy (16:23):
Well, I say that more in reference to you know, and you
just learn this through life Ifyou have friends that are a
couple and you know your onegirlfriend tells you you know,
hey, we might be getting adivorce, then you're like, oh
yeah, he's a jerk, you know, orwhatever.
But know, hey, we might begetting a divorce.
Then you're like, oh yeah, he'sa jerk, you know, or whatever.
But they might stay together.
And now your friend knows thatyou've called him a jerk, you
know.
I just, I just feel like it's ano win for friends, you know,
until they're actually divorcedmaybe.
But you can be in a situationwhere people get back together.

(16:45):
You think it's over and it'snot.
It's kind of like the may Amandathing you know, may thinks that
amanda, and I guess we sort offorgot to mention that at the
beginning of the episode.
Manda has has left her houseyeah for a night or two, because
she finds out frank jr had hadthe vasectomy and he didn't tell
her.
And that was the final straw.
Of course that's not the onlystraw right you know there's

(17:07):
other things, but, um, that'ssort of the final straw for her
in terms of what she's gonna putup with right and so she leaves
.
It's not permanent, but she doesleave the house.
And then, um yeah, did you haveanything else about sabrina and
lindsey?

Garry (17:22):
well, just to jump off of what you were saying when she
left the house, the last episodeended with amanda knocking on
someone's door yes, and we wereall.

Amy (17:30):
We didn't know who was gonna be.

Garry (17:31):
I would have never guessed, it was uh shauna I
never either.

Amy (17:34):
I ever guessed it would have been her right I that
shauna was not on my radar noshe should have been, but she
was not on my radar and she wasso funny, wasn't that a fun
scene?

Garry (17:43):
yes, that was a.
She is the comic relief.

Amy (17:47):
And I'm telling you, you find out, shauna has another
house guest, that's a payinghouse guest, and Amanda's like
how many hustles do you have?
And she starts counting on herfingers Like well, I've got you
know one, two, three.

Garry (18:00):
That was so funny.
It's so funny, yes.

Amy (18:02):
She's the comedic relief.
I love her character.

Garry (18:05):
I love love her character and how she was telling Amanda
oh, it's going to be all right.
I love to be all right, I loveyou, but you got to get up and
get out.

Amy (18:15):
You got to go because I got an image that's why amanda
leaves.
And yes, right, and we didn'treally we didn't really talk
about amanda trying to go homeright you know, to gus, yeah, to
gus's house, and gus tells herno yeah, you know she's like are
you serious, like you're my momand she's like no, you know
she's like well, I'll just sleepin, yeah.
So, then she leaves, and thenyou find out later that it's

(18:35):
because and we've talked aboutthis- before she's a hoarder.
Gus is a hoarder.

Garry (18:40):
Yeah.

Amy (18:41):
And she literally doesn't have the room because Amanda's
old room is filled with things.

Garry (18:46):
Sad, sad, sad.

Amy (18:47):
So there's not enough room for her to be in there.

Garry (18:49):
No, yeah, but going back to Sabrina, that little sidebar
we had there, yeah, sorry.
What about when she was in thelounge laying in the chairs?

Amy (18:59):
She had funny scenes too.

Garry (19:01):
Yes, that was so funny.

Amy (19:03):
With Grooster.

Garry (19:04):
Grooster comes up and says oh, you look dehydrated,
you need some vinegar.
What was it?
Apple cider, some vinegar.
And what does she say?

Amy (19:12):
She says okay, thanks, Grooster, I usually keep those
things in my purse, but oops, not today.

Garry (19:18):
That was hilarious.
It was perfect.

Amy (19:20):
It was so perfect.

Garry (19:22):
Yes, yes, I just loved it , and I think there's something
going on there too.
She's kind of liking him.

Amy (19:28):
A little bit, a little bit, and then you know I guess we'll
get to the end of the episode.
But you kind of find out thather daughter, lindsay, sort of
likes the town a little bit.

Garry (19:38):
Yeah, she started a lot, so that's going to be
interesting to see what happens.

Amy (19:41):
You know, like I said, I haven't read the book.
We didn't watch all theepisodes when they dropped on
Hallmark Plus in the fall of2024.
So I don't really know.
Yeah, but it's fun, so I don'treally know yeah, you know does
the competition end?
Do they stay?
I'm kind of hoping hercharacter stays.
Yeah, maybe she likes brewsteror not brewster.

Garry (19:59):
Brewster with a g right I think so yeah that's gonna be
interesting.
I can't wait to see whathappens there yeah, yeah, that's
gonna be.

Amy (20:06):
Uh, it's gonna be interesting so what about um?

Garry (20:12):
with?
We're gonna, we're gonna savegus and nancy for last for last,
because they're okay.
They were really good, but okayum, then, where did you want to
?
Let's, let's talk about, um,the scene with um, what's her
name?

Amy (20:27):
uh, blah, blah, blah I'm drawing a blank now, amanda may
yeah, uh, let's do do Nancy andthe priest.
Oh, okay, the pastor.
Or the pastor Right right, that's a brief scene.

Garry (20:38):
Yeah, but it was kind of funny.

Amy (20:41):
So Nancy goes to get guidance from the pastor because
somebody ran over Gus'shydrangeas.

Garry (20:50):
I know.

Amy (20:50):
And sprayed frannies on the side of her house Childish yeah
.
So somebody did that and Nancy, doing the right thing, doesn't
condone that and goes and triesto help her help her and, of
course, gus doesn't want to helpbecause you know she doesn't
talk about her feelings.
She doesn't do.
You know she's like now.
So then Nancy goes to thepastor to get guidance and it's

(21:16):
a brief conversation.
She basically wants to know howto what.
How to help somebody whodoesn't want the help.

Garry (21:20):
Right, exactly.

Amy (21:21):
Somebody who's stubborn about it.

Garry (21:24):
And.

Amy (21:24):
I think he says something like keep trying.
And you just got to keep trying.

Garry (21:28):
Your big heart, keep trying.

Amy (21:30):
But what's the nugget in that scene?

Garry (21:33):
Well, there's a couple of things really.
You're talking about the book,yes.
Yes, you bring that up becauseI don't know.
I've never seen that bookbefore, but you've heard of it.

Amy (21:44):
I've heard of the author.
I don't read her, but he hasthe same Jodi Picoult.

Garry (21:49):
Am I saying that right?
I think so.

Amy (21:50):
He's reading because she thinks he's like reading the
good word, the Bible, and hegoes no, I'm just reading this
and it's the Jody.

Garry (21:58):
Pico.

Amy (22:00):
The Pact is what it's called Right, right, right, so
he's reading the same book thatshe was reading.

Garry (22:06):
And Junior had in the restaurant.

Amy (22:09):
Yes, right when he was having his moment after he
cleaned up by himself.
That was a different episode,though.
Yeah.

Garry (22:15):
But that is true.
That book seems to be goingfrom episode to episode.

Amy (22:18):
Right, right.

Garry (22:19):
But I liked it.
When Nancy was getting ready toleave from the pastor, she
touched him on the arm and shewas like, ooh, your arms are so
strong you would pull a magnoliatree right out of the ground
roots and all she gets a littleverklempt.
Yes, she is so funny with that,oh my God yeah she is.

Amy (22:40):
She's pretty good at that.

Garry (22:42):
I love her isms too.

Amy (22:43):
I mean she has some, it's going to be interesting to see
what happens there too.

Garry (22:46):
Yeah, I know.
Is she falling for the pastor?
Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe.

Amy (22:50):
We might have some new loves here coming up.
You said you wanted to save Gusand Nancy for last yeah so what
about Amanda and Frank Jr?

Garry (23:01):
Oh my goodness.
I mean he cannot get out of hisway.
I'm sorry.

Amy (23:06):
I'm kind of thinking he's just a jerk.

Garry (23:08):
Yeah, I'm kind of thinking he's just a
chauvinistic.
I know when he comes to atoneat the end to Amanda.

Amy (23:22):
So basically Frankie works with him or tries to tell her
dad yes, she's the adult in thissituation.
She's the adult in this andshe's like Mom, what does Mom do
for you?
And he's like she does mylaundry, she helps you get
things done Right.

Garry (23:39):
And she, like, rephrases it and tries to coach him.
Yeah, coach him is a good word, into figuring out why, into
what to say and she has himpractice and all of that.

Amy (23:48):
So Frankie is there when Frank Jr talks to Amanda and
tries to atone for not tellingher about the vasectomy that he
had.

Garry (24:01):
And Frankie.
She's so excited because atfirst Amanda's like no, you know
, that's not enough for me.
And then he says you know, I'mtrying to atone, mama wants me
to atone to you and do you wantto really destroy this family?
And then they do thesebackflashes of them when Frankie

(24:22):
was born and having thesebirthday parties and all that.
And she just realizes no, Idon't want to, you know, tear
this family apart.
So she says, ok, I'll come home.
Well, that makes Frankie happy.

Amy (24:36):
But then but wait, don't go too far into that yet.

Garry (24:39):
Okay.

Amy (24:40):
Are you going to go to the scene at home?

Garry (24:42):
No, I was going to say Junior then goes okay, get your
stuff, I'll wait right here.
Oh yeah, oh yeah yeah yeah, instead of going and helping her
get her stuff?
Yes no-transcript.

Amy (25:12):
I need more.
And he's like well, why isn'tit enough?
I apologized, I know I atonedLike you should be grateful.

Garry (25:20):
Yeah, you know, he's almost like childlike.

Amy (25:21):
Yeah, and then when you talked about Amanda, then kind
of running the memories throughher head about how if she left
him she would lose Nancy, who'sreally been her mother figure,
when her mom wasn't.
Correct really been her motherfigure when her mom wasn't
correct, and so she's gonnachoose to go back because of

(25:42):
nancy, not because she wants tostay in the relationship with
frank jr right and so she'sagain doing what's right instead
of what's right for her yeah, and that was sad and that's sad.
Yeah, yeah, I mean you just, Iknow it's hard, but if you're
not happy in a relationship,it's worse.

Garry (25:59):
You know, it's just it's worse.

Amy (26:01):
I'm not.
We talked about this before, just you know.
Don't give up right away.
I'm not saying leave at thefirst fight, and it's kind of
like and then when she goes tothe room and she's talking to
May and May's like what are youdoing?
Why are you going back?
And can't understand it.
And then I forget what Amandasays in that moment.

Garry (26:21):
Amanda pretty much says just because you messed your
relationship up doesn't mean Ineed to which was mean Right and
it's like they fell right backinto the rivalry, rivalry, the
battle, the the constant but.

Amy (26:37):
But also, you know, may says, you know, marriage
shouldn't be hard.
Work right like it shouldn't behard.
Yeah, it should be hard if youhave, if your car breaks down
and you have to go hell andyou're doing taxes and you're
doing taxes.
It can be hard but it shouldn'tbe hard all of the time right
and we feel that way too, andthat's a very good point.

Garry (26:56):
There's going to be bumps in the road, but it shouldn't
be hard all of the time, and wefeel that way too, and that's a
very good point.

Amy (26:57):
There's going to be bumps in the road, but it shouldn't be
hard all the time and youshouldn't feel like you're
settling or just drowning inyour marriage.
So I just thought that that was.
I mean, it was really well done.

Garry (27:07):
Yes.
Really really well done aboutdecisions that are hard and not
easy, and then, when Amandaleaves, walks out of the room
and Mae follows behind her,Frankie's standing there.

Amy (27:23):
Is excited that her mom and dad are getting back together.
She's standing next to Mae andMae's.
Like I can't help her, as kidsdo.

Garry (27:27):
And said a couple other things.
And Frankie was like what?
Like she was like mad, not mad,but she was disappointed.
Like she was like mad, not mad,but she was disappointed.

Amy (27:37):
Well, and she was surprised because she didn't understand
why May was disappointed and nothappy that her parents got back
together Right.
But kids don't know, and theyshouldn't.
They don't know the wholehistory.

Garry (27:48):
Right.

Amy (27:48):
And I think May says something like she's going to
have to learn to help herself.

Garry (27:52):
I'm not.
I can't rescue her.
Yeah, no, it wasn't.
I can't do it anymore.

Amy (27:56):
I was like I can't rescue her.

Garry (27:58):
She's going to have to rescue herself, right, right.

Amy (28:01):
Like and and May's coming to that realization too, and and
I think May didn't realizebefore they were staying in the
same room that, um, you knowcause?
Amanda says you know, frank JrGot me out of the house.

Garry (28:18):
Right, you left Right and I was still there, and frank jr
is the one who got me out.
He's the one that got me out ofthe house.
Yeah, at a mom's house.

Amy (28:22):
I thought that was a powerful scene.
At the end, yeah, just spoke alot about relationships and
whatnot so?
So let's get into gus and nancygus and nancy this, I mean this
won't be too long this is justa quick.
You know they had the, so just,we already mentioned that Nancy
tries to help Gus clean up theyard.

Garry (28:42):
She wants to replant the hydrangeas.

Amy (28:43):
And you know, Gus slams the door in her face, essentially
like two or three times yes.
And what does Gus say?
Like something about standingdownwind behind an outhouse.
Yeah, Like I'd rather bestanding downwind.

Garry (28:56):
In an outhouse?

Amy (28:57):
Yeah, Like I'd rather be standing downwind In an outhouse
breeze In an outhouse, breezewhich I thought was so funny.
If you've ever had to use anouthouse, have you no?

Garry (29:03):
Well, yes, but not once, Just once.

Amy (29:06):
No, my grandmother had an outhouse for years.
Oh my goodness, I dreaded.
I loved her, I loved she livedon a farm and I loved going to
her house.
I hated going in the outhouse, hated it.

Garry (29:20):
can still smell it to this day oh my goodness, can
still see it to this day.

Amy (29:23):
Oh my goodness, we don't see anything, but it's.
I just I don't.
Until she got into her plumbing.
I have no idea.
That was the best day of mylife when she got into toilet
inside.
But yeah, oh, and that house, but anyway.
So then nancy leaves and wehave the rest of the episode,
and then nancy goes back rightand she's just gonna do it.
She just goes out in the yardand starts talking to the

(29:46):
hydrangeas and replanting yeshydrangeas right and then what
happens?
she gets watered gus comes outand waters n with the hydrangeas
.
So it's a pretty funny scene.
And then, but then Nancyunloads on Gus.
She's using the hydrangeas asan example but she's really
talking about Amanda and how Gusshe feels like Gus has

(30:10):
disregarded Amanda.

Garry (30:11):
Like she did, the flowers Thrown her away.

Amy (30:13):
Right, right Doesn't want to fix it, but she's using the
hydrangeas as yeah, and gus islike are we talking about amanda
and nancy's?
Like yes, no, yes, no, you knowso.

Garry (30:25):
And then they start arguing more right yeah, the
water, and they get wrapped upin the hose, the water hose
right.
And then, little did they know, they were being filmed by sab.
They were being filmed bySabrina.

Amy (30:35):
Yep, I feel like that's a sidebar to the whole.
Like what is the competition?

Garry (30:41):
I don't even know what the competition is going to be.

Amy (30:43):
She's just there filming and, yeah, she's getting all the
B-roll.
Yeah, all the B-roll for thisstuff.
Yep, yep, yep.

Garry (30:51):
But then so let's go back to when Amanda gets home and
Frankie and Junior are sittingon the couch and Amanda's in the
kitchen making I'm not sure ifit's a cake or breakfast, or
whatever.
And Frank Junior.
He's drinking a beer on hisrecliner and he's like hey don't

(31:14):
forget to do my whites.
And you know, you can see thelook on Frankie's face.
It dawned on her what her auntwas saying.
Aunt May was saying that shenow realized she's not happy in
this relationship and all hewants is her to do things for
him.

Amy (31:30):
Right, he doesn't want to do anything for himself and that
was really sad and you feel badfor for her because you know
she's the child.
Yes, and she's actuallywitnessing this.
But she realizes what her dadis actually like.
It's still her dad, but yeah.
And then she really sees howunhappy her mom really is
because Amanda's kind of likeit's fine, you know, I'll go do

(31:51):
it with like a grin, yeah, youknow so, yeah and Le, they just
wants her to be the best her, soyou know an artist right.
That's where her love is butright doesn't seem like it's
gonna happen soon I know, I know, I don't, I you know, I think
there's more to the frank seniorand gus story that we don't
know yes I think there's goingto be something that comes out

(32:13):
there and it's not exactly whatnancy thinks it is right.
She thinks they had a dalliance, so to speak.
But I'm wondering, you know, Idon't know, we'll find out,
we'll find out, and then wedidn't talk about the pie
southern pie oh my goodnesscures everything right.
Done it, yeah, and they lookgood too.

Garry (32:30):
One of those pies I like when they do the little baking
scenes.

Amy (32:35):
Well, do you have any more?
Oh, by the ways, no, I don't.

Garry (32:40):
What about you?

Amy (32:42):
No, I don't.
I don't think so.
I think we need to rank thisepisode based on corks, Out of
five corks how many corks wouldyou give it?

Garry (32:50):
You know I'm giving it a five.

Amy (32:51):
Oh, I already told you it's my favorite episode, Favorite
favorite episode to date.
We laughed out loud.
It was emotional.

Garry (32:57):
