That was really good.

No, we're not actually for this one, so if you would like a

Garry (04:01):
So tell her what she won today.

Amy (04:03):
What did I win today?

Garry (04:05):
A hug and a kiss.

Amy (04:06):
Oh, that's so nice, I know right.

Garry (04:10):
Yeah, so it's time to drop the synopsis.

Amy (04:16):
All right, here we go.
Season one, episode seven.
It's just junk, y'all.

Garry (04:20):
Yeah, it is.

Amy (04:22):
The town unites to support Gus, amanda and May during a
crisis.
Sabrina questions her approachon the show Kitchen Clash.

Garry (04:30):
Yes, yes.
So Woo Just got to give you alittle note here.
Okay, press pause.
Oh, yeah, and go watch it,because we're about to drop some

Amy (04:42):
There you go.
Press pause on the pod, that'sright.

Garry (04:44):
Press pause on the pod.
That's right.
Press pause Go watch episodeseven yes, correct, of the
Chicken Sisters and then comeback and push play.
Yes.

Amy (04:52):
And listen.

Garry (04:53):
Right.

Amy (04:54):
Correct.

Garry (04:54):
Correct, Okay, gotcha man .
So what'd you think?

Amy (04:59):
What'd you think?
Well, let's start with a quickrecap, yes, think well, let's
start with a quick recap, yes,of what happened at the end of
last.
So at the end of last episodewe had frank jr calling the
health inspector yeah amanda andsergio are at sergio's land
that he's going to build a houseon.
Yep right, um, what elsehappened?
Nancy is coming to terms withfrank senior yes and realizes

(05:24):
that he may not have been theman she thought he was after she
finds out he wanted to put gusout and take her business.

Garry (05:32):
Yeah, that was yeah.

Amy (05:33):
Throw her on the street, yeah lindsey and her mom made
great strides yes, right theygot closer together.
So we're kind of floating onthat for now at the beginning of
the episode.
And so we're kind of floatingon that for now at the beginning
of the episode and May andKenneth, you know, had their
heart to heart and made up andMay's really really owning her
stuff.

Garry (05:52):
Yeah.

Amy (05:53):
You know, and wanting to move forward, and then her
fiance shows up I know has shownup right at the end, so that's
kind of where we are.

Garry (06:00):
Yes.

Amy (06:00):
Now we get to the episode.
What an episode.
Yes, it was.
This episode was so good.
I thought it was so good.

Garry (06:10):
Yeah, I think it's probably one of the best ones so
far.
One of the best ones, one ofthe top two, for sure.

Amy (06:14):
I think we said episode five and then this one, so so
good.
There was a lot in this episodeand we can just get to it, I
guess, with the characters.
So who do?

Garry (06:30):
you want to.
Who do you think?

Amy (06:31):
we should start with.
Let's start with amanda.
She's probably a good one tostart with, because at the
beginning of the episode we seeher waking up next to sergio in
the back of his pickup, whichcould not be comfortable.
First of all no now they arefully clothed yes, they are so
are we supposed to assumenothing?
I Right.
I mean something's happened,but nothing.
They just snuggled.
You know non-homework.

Garry (06:49):
Under the stars Right Right.

Amy (06:50):
Right.
So she wakes up, it's morning, she starts, she realizes she's
late.

Garry (06:57):
Yep, she's freaking out.

Amy (06:58):
He's going to bring her home.
She's like kidding me.
It's a small town, you knowwhatever.

Garry (07:06):
So she runs home and they're out in like a field
there I don't know how far shewas, like miles over the river,
but I have to say when she'srunning, they're playing this
music.

Amy (07:11):
And do you know what it reminded me of?
What ferris bueller's day offoh my goodness, when ferris is
running home.

Garry (07:17):
Oh, do you remember that's towards the end of the
movie isn't it?

Amy (07:20):
he's trying to get home before jumping over before his
dad gets home and his dad's inthe car and he almost runs into
yeah or he does his dad.

Garry (07:27):
Oh yeah, no, no, not the principal.

Amy (07:30):
Yeah, yeah so he's trying to beat his dad on you that's
what it reminded me of, andshe's running through the town
and she had cowboy boots on,which could not have been
comfortable, but that's an aside, I know so anyway.
So she she gets home, and rightas she gets home, shauna shows
up yep and shauna has the 411 onthe health inspector and tells

(07:54):
amanda right that someone calledthe health inspector or
whatever, yeah on on mimi's.
Yeah, so that's sort of thepremise of the entire.
That sort of sets the stage forthe entire episode, really.
So you know.
So now amanda has thisinformation and she has to

(08:14):
figure out what to do with itand she immediately goes to gus
yep and says you know, someonecalled the health inspector on
yeah, yeah yeah, and then guskind of she's like.
What does she say?
This is well, you know, mimi'sis cleaner than a stripper pole
on a Monday morning, and thenGus realizes they're not talking

(08:39):
about that.

Garry (08:40):
They're talking about the house that's right behind Right
.

Amy (08:43):
Right, so that's kind of.

Garry (08:45):
Yeah, that's kind of the opening scene there.

Amy (08:48):
Right right.

Garry (08:49):
Which I did think it was funny because, like Amanda, it
shows her running through afield and then I guess she's
running through an orchard orsomething.
I don't know if it was apple oran orange or a peach, but she
jumps up, grabs it, takes a bite, and then you see her going
across a bridge and then shehides behind a town sign.

Amy (09:07):
Oh, that's right, she hides behind a town sign.
I mean, it was so funny.

Garry (09:10):
She's going through the town and then she finally gets
home and she's like where'sFrank Jr?
And then that's when Shawnapulls up.

Amy (09:18):
Well, and then you know, after she yeah, shawna pulls up,
and then after she goes toGus's house and tells Gus and
Gus is like you know basicallysays something like that it
would require a professional toclean it, a very thorough anal
retentive, and then then she'slike wait a minute you know,
then she realizes they need togo to may, who is anal retentive

(09:39):
and has the show.
What was the name of may showSparkly sparkling.
Yep, so yeah.
So that's kind of so now we'rekind of getting into then.
Amanda and Gus are now united.
And they have to go and get May.

Garry (09:55):
May Yep.

Amy (09:56):
Right?
Who is with her fiance?
Who just showed?

Garry (10:00):
up, just showed up.

Amy (10:01):
Right so.

Garry (10:02):
So let's talk about that scene, because that was kind of
funny.
That was kind of funny.
So so May and Jay her fianceare in the room and they're
talking when Amanda and Gusbreak in.
And this is the first time thatthey meet each other, jay and.

Amy (10:24):
Amanda and Gus.

Garry (10:26):
And you can see the look on Amanda's face, because she's
like busted right.

Amy (10:29):
Yeah, yeah.

Garry (10:30):
And then it's funny because May says to Jay that
this is my mom.
She's not a five-star, shedoesn't own a five-star
restaurant, which is what shetold Jay right and this is my
sister, Amanda, who is not aSomalian.

Amy (10:48):
And then you, because I think I had asked that before,
Like what else did she lie about?

Garry (10:51):
She apparently did lie about everything she would lie
Like she made stuff up about herfamily.
Yes, and she did a good job oflying and.

Amy (10:59):
I will give you know Jay credit in this episode episode
too, because here's a man who'sbeen lied to about her past and
the people in her life and whereshe's from yep and and how she
made it in new york right whereshe was working, and he still
shows up yeah because there'ssomething there and I just think

(11:20):
it really shows a lot about Mayand his relationship and you
know, they might have thedeepest connection out of
anybody.
And here Amanda and Frank Jrhave been married for at least
16 years, right.

Garry (11:36):
Because the daughter's?
I don't know, Because thedaughter, yep, she's getting
ready to go off to college.

Amy (11:39):
Yeah, she's 16, 17 years and they're in a different place
.
You know, and we find out.
Frank Jr has probably been likethis the whole time.

Garry (11:47):
Yeah, and it's kind of an ass, but it's very sad yeah.

Amy (11:51):
So I mean.
So that's, that scene is funnyand interesting.
And then you know, of courseMay decides to go and help.

Garry (12:00):
Yes.

Amy (12:00):
And they all go to Gus's house.
Yep, and I kind of like thescene where you know may and jay
.
She's kind of like it's goingto be a lot.

Garry (12:15):
Yes, like when you walk in there and he's basically like
it's fine.
Yeah, he grabs her by the hand.
Yeah, let's go let's do it.

Amy (12:18):
I thought that was so, I don't know.
I I think their relationship.

Garry (12:23):
There was a lot of character growth in this one.

Amy (12:27):
Between.

Garry (12:28):
All of them, really.
They all grew, they all cameout.
You know May is so afraid ofthat house.
Yeah, you know, because whenshe was little she always feared
that something would fall downon her.
But I do like in order to getget through it.
She turns into her characterfrom sparkling so, so let's.

Amy (12:49):
I just want to back up just a little bit though about the
house itself.
Yeah, so they have like eitherthat day or a day yes and
realistically, if you're lookingat that, you know that's not
going to happen no like as aviewer and as you know, like you
, just there's so much stuff andand it's usually, you know it,

(13:09):
people who hoard.
It's deeper.
I mean, I'm not an expert on itand I'm not, you know, I just
you just know that the issuesare deeper than the stuff.
Yep, you know, and you do findout at some point.
Gus talks to sergio about thata little bit later and you know,
to go in there, mae kind ofgoes in there and Gus is
basically like hey, we'll justput it in storage for now, and

(13:31):
Mae's like no, we're going totrash it, but that's hard for
people who have hoarded.
And I felt like Gus kind of waslike OK, you know, like like
excuse you, but then she kind ofgives in, but it's.
I think it would be harder forsomeone.

Garry (13:47):
Yeah.
Who was a hoarder to thatextent to just be like, okay,
let's take everything out andget rid of it right.

Amy (13:54):
I don't, you know, I don't know that we saw as big of a
struggle as I think it wouldactually be right for someone, I
mean.
But you know, but gus is alsoat a point in her life where
maybe she is trying to change.
But that's a long time.
Room wasn't built in a day, sono, it wasn't.

Garry (14:12):
And um, you know.

Amy (14:14):
And then again, going back to when may, in order to get
through, it has to get intocharacter from sparkling yes,
and that is such a good scene, when, because the music starts
playing, and and she just startscleaning, and well she says
you're gonna go in that room, you have zone one, you have zone
two and she, you know, bosseseverybody around because she's

(14:36):
organized.
But I think that's how shedeals with right that's how she
deals with things is she get?
She becomes in charge, shemakes a plan yeah and she
executes it, and that's whatkeeps her mind focused yeah, so
that says a lot about her.
Like you said, we're reallyseeing, you know.

Garry (14:56):
To me it was just a good scene.
But then, so now you still havethe fact that the townspeople,
may doesn't, or Gus doesn'trealize that they're rallying
the troops, the community tocome.
Well, he was rallying them.

Amy (15:13):
The important part there is Nancy.

Garry (15:15):
Right.

Amy (15:16):
Decides.
Nancy goes and talks to thepastor Right and has sort of a
am I a good person?

Garry (15:23):
Yeah, she's, because she's struggling with that
self-worth.

Amy (15:25):
Yeah, and, and so Nancy is the one who does rally the town
townspeople to come marching toGus's house.

Garry (15:35):
Yes.

Amy (15:36):
And and help her out, because there's no way four of
them could do.
I mean, there's no way the towncould do it in one day, but
four of them, you know.

Garry (15:45):
Right and then and then, as they're cleaning up in the
house, gus, amanda May and JayGus looks out the window and
sees them coming.

Amy (15:54):
All the people coming.
But what's funny is that shethinks it's some big secret.
It's like the town's biggestopen secret.

Garry (16:01):
Right, right Her house.

Amy (16:02):
Everybody knows I mean even the pastor, when Nancy's
talking to him, knows that Gus'shouse is like that Because he
says, oh, her restaurant's asclean as a whistle and you know
it's going to be fine.
And Nancy's like no Pastor,it's the house and he goes, who
you know?
I mean, everybody knows she'slike she doesn't want to give
the town something to talk about, but they're already talking

(16:23):
about it.

Garry (16:25):
And they already know.
And isn't it interesting thather restaurant is as clean as it
is, but her house is just justa mess.

Amy (16:35):
No, I think, I think there are people if you there are
people who are hoarders likethat, who go into work every day
, and you would never know ifyou went to their house.
You wouldn't suspect that.
I know I've read that too.

Garry (16:48):
Yeah.

Amy (16:48):
You know so, like other parts of their life, are
functional and you might not,you know, suspect.

Garry (16:56):
Right.

Amy (16:56):
What the conditions of the house are.
People can fake it a lot.

Garry (16:59):
Yeah.

Amy (16:59):
You know, and maybe the business I mean, that's her
bread and butter and her money.

Garry (17:03):
Yeah.

Amy (17:03):
So she knows she's got to keep it sparkling clean or no
one will come in.

Garry (17:07):
Yeah, which throughout most of the episodes no one
really goes in.

Amy (17:12):
Right, right.

Garry (17:19):
But the exchange between Nancy and Gus, when the
community does walk up, Ithought was very powerful too,
because Gus comes running out.
Well, you know you did it thistime, you know you're going to
close, you know Mimi's and etcetera, et cetera, and Nancy
goes, no Right.

Amy (17:33):
We're here.

Garry (17:33):
We're here to help you Right.
And then you could just see thelook on Gus's face.
It was just to me it was reallypowerful, because you could see
, at that moment she was likesomething was just lifted off of
her shoulders.

Amy (17:50):
Yeah, yeah, like a thought was good, kind of.
I mean, nancy says Gus, you'restubborn and sustained because
Gus doesn't want the help.
No one's going in my house, yeah.
It's like you said, and thenwhen she realizes, I mean she
has to have the help, she has to, yeah, or she's going to get
shut down, right?
No-transcript having a realityshow and everything.

Garry (18:38):
Yeah, so that was really.

Amy (18:40):
That was really good.
And then um, and then shauna, and then you have frank.
Oh my god, frank jr who?
Who made the phone call?

Garry (18:49):
he doesn't go to help, right he?
He doesn't, he stays at therestaurant.

Amy (18:51):
And then he sees Shauna and she just can't help herself,
right?
No Well, first of all, shauna'sthe one who also told Nancy.

Garry (18:59):
Yes, she did.

Amy (19:01):
Because she was like Amanda's not here and I can't
tell you why, but I'm going totell you why.
Okay, because you asked.
You know, it's just so funny, she can't get out of her own way
and everybody knows it, youknow yeah and we all know people
who would swear and say I won'tsay anything, but you know, if
you tell them it's going to getout somewhere you know, or
everywhere in that case.
But and then when she sees frankjr, when shauna sees frank jr,

(19:24):
and he's like where is everybody?
And she's like who could knowshe does?
She's trying so hard, she'strying so hard not to tell him
and she goes.
I don't know anything, you knowshe's like I don't know she is
you know.
She says who could know, whocould know, in a deep voice too,
it's like her voice changes.
It was just so funny.

(19:44):
You know she's just dying totell him and she has to leave
the room.
Leave because they're in, likethe main part of the restaurant,
and she goes, she leaves thearea that they're in because she
she knows she's gonna saysomething and she just has to
leave and he's kind of like, okay, like, and he's too dumb to
figure out, you know yeah, yeah, me and him are done you and

(20:08):
and him.
Oh, I know you said yeah, youguys are broken up.

Garry (20:12):
Yeah, we have.
It was I.
Just he's a great he.
I love him because he's such agreat.
He does a great job at thischaracter.
He really does.
He makes me hate him.
He really does.
I don't like hating people, buthe makes me hate him I wonder
if he is really like that in thebook.

Amy (20:28):
I'd be very curious what his character was like.
Yeah, um, in the book, if hewas.
If he was that way and we do wedo get a glimpse of him too.
We haven't really talked abouthim at the beginning.
You see him with his dad whenhe was growing up and a
flashback yeah, where he's youngand he's fishing with his dad
and he's playing football andstuff with his dad, and then

(20:49):
always trying to and stuff withhis dad, and then he kind of
fumbles, because he's a bumblingidiot, he fumbles during a
pitch during like a boardmeeting or whatever, and his dad
then realizes he doesn't reallyhave the business shops and
then cuts off his relationshipwith him really, I mean so.

Garry (21:09):
And poor Frank Jr, to this day, is still trying to
please his dad right right, right, even after his dad is
gone.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but he wantsit too, yeah but um so, let's,
let's talk about uh, uh may andjay may and j.

Amy (21:28):
Okay, so we kind of already .

Garry (21:30):
Well, just on the, you know, I mean.

Amy (21:33):
I know there's more.
I'm just saying we touched onthe in part Right when Amanda.

Garry (21:38):
Well, when they have their conversation about the
lying, you know when.
May you know, jay's, like youknow, I love you for who you are
.
You know you're tough, you'rebeautiful, you know with your
faults or without your fault, and she was like you know really
, and you know, I thought thatscene too was a very good scene.

(22:01):
Are you talking about whenthey're at the house?

Amy (22:02):
Yeah, when they're at the house Right right, so they're
sitting outside.

Garry (22:05):
It's still daylight.
It's still daylight.

Amy (22:06):
There's still.
I think maybe the townspeoplehad left by then.
Or Gus, shoot them all away orwhatever.
And yeah, that was a prettypowerful scene because you can
really see that May and she evensays I don't feel like I'm
worth loving, Right, and that'sso sad.
Right, and he's like you areworth loving.
Yeah, you know.
He has to reiterate that to her.

Garry (22:30):
That was a really yeah, that was a really powerful scene
and that was right after May,when she was going through the
house and you can tell she wasstarting to struggle to stay in
focus, and she opens up a closetand pillows and clothes fall on
her and she freaks out.

Amy (22:44):
And.

Garry (22:44):
Amanda comes running in to calm her down, like she did
when they were little, and shegets her to calm down, and then
May kind of has this breakdownabout how mom loves this stuff
more than she loves them.
Yeah, and little did they knowthat Gus was around.

Amy (23:00):
Overheard their conversation.

Garry (23:02):
Corner in the doorway listening.

Amy (23:04):
Well, may starts to have like that panic attack.
Yeah, yeah.

Garry (23:08):
And then that's when she goes out of the house and Jay's
like it's all good.

Amy (23:13):
You know, you know we're good.
Isn't that funny, though, likeyour childhood, trauma comes
back.

Garry (23:17):
I mean for real it stays with you.

Amy (23:20):
You just learn to deal with it or cope with it, or you go
to therapy and then it comesback in ways, well, I mean,
there she's literally back whereit started, right, and what
caused it, probably, and how hermother was, you know at the
time.
And yeah, that would be, thatwould be a lot, it would be a
lot, and I think you just really, I just love May.

Garry (23:40):
Yeah.

Amy (23:41):
I mean she.
I love her character.

Garry (23:44):
It's she, I love.

Amy (23:45):
I just think she's.
She's really the strongest one.

Garry (23:48):
Of all of them.

Amy (23:49):
Really out of all of them, even with her.
You know when he tells her sheis worth loving and he's going
to stick around, and then hetells her something.
Yeah, he lied.

Garry (24:02):
He lied, he quit his job.

Amy (24:04):
I guess he lied by omission right, yeah, he didn't tell her
.
He didn't tell her that he hadquit his job.
Yeah, and she's a little bittaken aback, you know, but yeah.

Garry (24:15):
Yeah, I'm sorry, I took a sip of wine.

Amy (24:20):
Yeah, that's fine, I know, yeah, she's taking it back, but
then she's like, of course, it'sfine, you know like, yeah, you
love me through this.

Garry (24:26):
She goes because he said I got something to tell you.
She goes.
What did you work at?
Donkeys too?

Amy (24:31):
Yeah, donkeys with a Z.
Yeah, that was pretty fun.
That was kind of cute.
Yeah, yeah, so they it was.
It was good to see thatrelationship come together.
Yeah, you know, and then youhave the whole.
You know Sergio of it all.
He's cooking for all the peoplethat are helping at Gus's house
, which I thought was cool.
And there's a really funnyscene when the people who

(24:52):
normally go to Franny's yes, they're standing in the doorway
of these Big Tim and Dottie.

Garry (24:56):
Or Big Tim and Dottie, or Big Tim and Dottie.

Amy (24:58):
They're standing in the doorway and they're hungry and
Sergio's like, do you want somefood?
And they're like, no, I'll justhave a Tic Tac, that's in my
purse.
A piece of gum, Because theydon't want to.
You know, cheat on Franny's.

Garry (25:13):
And then they end up eating.

Amy (25:14):
So that was kind of a cute, fun little sprinkle in there
and all of it.

Garry (25:18):
So, yeah, sprinkle in there and all of it.
So, yeah, and come to find out,it was the chicken was moist
and delicious, and it was reallygood.
They liked it, yeah yeah, thatwas a good.
That was a good scene.
So let's say she brought upsergio.
Let's talk about nancy.
When she's talking to amanda inthe house and she's talking,
she's asking her.
You know, you know is she in it?

(25:39):
You know in the marriage and no, no, nancy.

Amy (25:44):
First Nancy apologizes.

Garry (25:46):
Right, she apologizes To.

Amy (25:47):
Amanda because she says I had no idea.
You know Frank Sr was doingthat Right and I hope you know
if I had known.

Garry (25:55):
Right.

Amy (25:56):
I would.
I would have put my foot down, you know, basically like I would
not have wanted him to kick youout of your house or lose your
restaurant, because that's notthe way.

Garry (26:04):
I am, I'm not that person and Amanda's like.

Amy (26:06):
I know you're not that person.
I know you're a good person.

Garry (26:09):
And that's when Sergio walks in and asks if they want
some food, and then a littlelight goes on in Nancy's head
that they're both wearing thesame clothes they did the night
before.
The day before yeah, so sheputs two and two together which
isn't a hard leap and right it'snot a tough.

Amy (26:26):
Well, you can also see the look on amanda's face how she
starts to smile.

Garry (26:30):
And then that's when nancy starts to ask and they
start to get into it.
And then amanda fires back andshe says you know, frank Jr is
the one that called you know, onmy mom.

Amy (26:43):
You know, at first I thought, maybe that's what Nancy
thought, that's why she.

Garry (26:48):
What.

Amy (26:50):
That's why Nancy got the townspeople to come.
I thought maybe she realized itwas Frank Jr earlier in the
episode, but I don't think shedid based on her reaction in
that moment that you were justtalking about.
So that kind of tricked me alittle bit.
I was like, oh, I thought shealready suspected that because
she earlier in the episode Nancy, leaves Frank Jr a voicemail,

(27:12):
just like because she's beenthinking about Frank Sr and how
he's not a nice guy.
And you know she's like youknow, I know you want to be just
like your daddy.

Garry (27:23):
Yeah.

Amy (27:24):
You know you got the best parts of him, but you also got
the best parts of me.
So she's like make gooddecisions, right.
And I was thinking maybe shesuspected then but maybe not.
But now I realize it wasprobably just a phone call about
his dad and like hopefully yougot the good parts of me that
will outweigh the bad parts ofyour dad, your daddy, you know,

(27:45):
yeah, yeah so, but then you seewhen she goes to confront yeah,
junior, then nancy goes toconfront.

Garry (27:52):
Yeah and he basically quadruples down on his attitude.
You know, and I I just Excuseme, in my wine sip.
I was just disappointed and hejust hammered that last little
hammer, that nail, into thecoffin with me and him.
Yeah, I was like, dude, youstill are getting in your own

(28:13):
way, yep, yep, and well he waslike yeah and I did, and I mean
he, basically that's what shesaid.

Amy (28:27):
And she and you know it's like when your kids make
decisions that you disagree withor that.
I mean you know they have tolearn on their own, but when
they're an adult like that, it'sso hard, because you know you
always want them to do the rightthing and you hope they don't
do anything that is going tohurt someone else or be mean to
someone else.
But I mean it happens now.
Of course, this is an extremeversion right with um.
You know, frank jr and um, whathe did, I mean, he's basically

(28:50):
going to put them out ofbusiness.
So I'm not talking about thatextreme, but, um, you know, you
can just see, as a parent it'shard yeah, it is it's hard.
And she's coming around to thefact that things probably are
going to have to change.
Well, he's a grown man.

Garry (29:05):
Yeah, yeah, and you know it's his decision.
He's going to have to live byhim.
Yeah.

Amy (29:09):
Yeah.
So then we see what Sabrinafinally makes it to the house,
yes, and she starts filmingbecause she's like, oh, this was
in Gus's house, so she's gotGordo with her and she's filming
.
And Lindsay is there withFrankie yes, and you can
immediately see that Lindsaydoesn't want her mom.

(29:29):
Like the look on her face islike don't film this, this is
embarrassing, like don't do thisto them.
And she goes and tells her asmuch, right, you know.
And then that's when Sabrinaaccidentally spills that.
Well, she spills that.

Garry (29:46):
What are you worried about?
Because you're only hanging outwith Frankie, because I told
you to and Frankie was sittingOverhears.
It Was standing behind Sabrinawhen she said that, and that
upset Frankie and she goes off.

Amy (30:00):
And it upset Lindsay.
Because, now she really likesFrankie.
Yeah, she considers her afriend and even though it may
not have started that way, Right.
She's a friend and she neverwould have told her that.

Garry (30:10):
Right.

Amy (30:11):
You know so.
And now Frankie's upset, andnow Lindsay's upset at her mom,
and now they're back to wherethey were.

Garry (30:17):
When they first got there .

Amy (30:18):
When they first got there in terms of kind of button heads
and you know.
And then you do realize thatSabrina or yeah, it's Sabrina-
yeah.
She doesn't film.

Garry (30:32):
Right.

Amy (30:33):
Like you know, she ends up not filming it.

Garry (30:36):
Well, that's when she gets back to the hotel hotel or
the inn uh keys in kennis inyeah in comes may, may she ran
she ran with these mimi girls.
That's true both of them ran inthe episode like what's going
on?

Amy (30:52):
but she's huffing and puffing may, may, leaves and
runs all the way to the end.
And sabrina's like did youfollow me here Because she was
in the car?

Garry (31:01):
And Mae's like yeah, yeah , I did, I did.

Amy (31:04):
And then what does she say?
You know, mae basically pleadsher case like don't show that
footage.
If you show it, it will ruinIt'll destroy our family.
It'll destroy what my family'sbuilt over generations and you
know all for some stupid show.
And then Sabrina's likesomething happened to the camera
.
We don't have that footage andthen May's like I didn't mean

(31:27):
that about your show.

Garry (31:28):
Well, gordo goes.
Yeah, you told me to turn itoff.

Amy (31:31):
Yeah, yeah, Gordo.
And then Sabrina kind of giveshim a look like I'm trying to
say she said, yeah, I guess Idid.

Garry (31:38):
I did and you can see the hurt in her face when May said
that about her show.

Amy (31:44):
And she's like I really love your show.
Well, it's good, you know, sometimes you come around and
you realize that some of thatsalacious stuff isn't worth.

Garry (31:52):
Right.

Amy (31:52):
I mean, you know, I mean now, you know, there's like
clickbait, Right you?
Know and everybody likes to seesomeone get torn down.
Why that is, I have no idea.
Yeah, you know, and it's kindof like this is off on a little
tangent like we um, you know notto toot hallmark's horn, we're
not getting paid by them oranything, we're not sponsored.
But that's kind of why we turnto them more often.

(32:14):
Now we watch a lot of tv yeah,we watch a lot of series I'm a
big entertainment buff and butwe've been drawn more and more
to hallmark, just because we'rejust tired of the heavy stuff
you know, sometimes you justwant to break, and now chicken
sisters is serious yes, it isand it's, you know it's dramatic
, but in that vein of watchingthese, you know reality shows

(32:38):
and things and we watch them but, it's just, you know, it's like
enough.
You know, I know, and we lovereality cooking shows, I know
you know not the ones likeKitchen Clash.
They're only like that.
Yeah, we do love some Hell'sKitchen and some Top Chef.
Yeah, but they're not salaciouslike this.
But they used to be a littleworse than they are now, oh, I

(33:01):
know.
I think all that's calmed downtoo, because people just don't
want it.
I don't want to hear peoplescreaming at each other all the
time.
There are good people on thisplanet Right right, not
everybody's a-hole.

Garry (33:13):
Right, right, come on.

Amy (33:16):
So yeah, but it's too late.
Sabrina changed her mind toolate and now Lindsay's mad at
her Right.
So we're kind of ending theepisode like you said, like we
started the series right wherethey're kind of you know.
So.

Garry (33:27):
But then let's go into Frankie.
Let's go into Frankie.
Oh, yes, because she grabs abox of her mom's stuff and she
goes back to Mimi's and shestarts to go through it.
Yeah, and one of the thingsthat she finds is the recipe
book from you know way backGenerations or whatever, yeah,
from her grandmother Over time.
And then there's a letter shefinds and it has a seal on it

(33:51):
and it has not been open.
Isn't that interesting?

Amy (33:54):
Yep, yep, and the seal looks almost like English or
something.

Garry (33:58):
Yeah, like a royal or something, some kind of royalty.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know LikeI know seals, but you know,
yeah, she opens it up, a waxseal on the letter, she reads it
and, ooh, we learned something.
Spoiler alert.

Amy (34:12):
What did we learn?

Garry (34:13):
That I guess her mom or not her mom, but because the
letters date it 1912.
1912, 1912, right, and that youknow the the mimi was pregnant.
I'm gonna have a baby.

Amy (34:28):
I don't know if it was, we don't learn that in the letter
we learn um that we learn thatthe the guy, whoever, whoever
the dad was, basically said I'mnot ready to be a dad, because
we paused it and read it.

Garry (34:43):
Well, that's true, that's true.
So we don't.
Yeah, you're right.

Amy (34:45):
It said something like I'm not ready to be a dad or a
father Right, and I forget whatelse it said, but yeah, yeah, we
paused it and we read it soyeah.
So she gets up to like she'sfound some very good information
.

Garry (35:02):
But then the camera cuts away to Gus in her house looking
around and all of a sudden shegrabs.

Amy (35:10):
I guess I don't know if it's gasoline or what Now?
Everybody has left the house.
Everybody has left the house.
It's dark now.
It's dark, it's nighttime.

Garry (35:17):
And she just starts pouring whatever liquid it is on
on all the junk in there andlights it on fire and she comes
walking out the door.
Meanwhile, you know Amanda, mayand Jay and Sergio are.

(35:37):
You know they're away from thehouse and they're talking.
When they turn around, they gooh, mom, the house is on fire.
And they start to go toward thehouse and Gus grabs him by the
hands and they're all threestanding there watching it burn.

Amy (35:52):
Yeah.

Garry (35:53):
That was a.

Amy (35:54):
And then she.

Garry (35:56):
Well then, you know, she ends up fainting.

Amy (36:00):
Passing out.
Passing or passing out passingout Gus does.

Garry (36:03):
So we're not sure if that's whatever she has is
progressing or it's just stressthat's causing her to pass out
because it was a big day for her.

Amy (36:16):
Right, right.
I mean, that's a big emotionalday and I think that there was a
part we skipped over, the partwhere her and sergio were
talking.
Oh that's right or gus andsergio have a moment where they
kind of have a heart to heartand she tells him that, um, when
her mom, she had a lot of greatmemories in her house, that's
how she grew up in yeah and whenher mom died when she was very
young, yes, the stuff around hermade her feel safe yeah so

(36:39):
that's why she has all thatstuff is because it makes her
feel safe when she's there butit had the opposite effect on
her kids yeah, and that wasafter they

Garry (36:49):
hated it and they, you know and that was after she
overheard may and amanda saythat she's selfish and right,
right, oh yeah, when she had theconversation with sergio, yeah,
and she, yeah, she's.
She was like sergio.
I wish I could have a do-over.
Yeah, he said you can.
Yeah, yeah, sergio is a gooddude you can start, you can

(37:10):
start fresh.
Well, I mean, he's a good dudeto an extent he is, but he seems
to be the the calm one in allof this right right so, but,
yeah I mean, I thought that wasa really good scene too, because
she now you find out, why shehoards.

Amy (37:25):
She's a hoarder right because it was right, protection
and being a young female withkids?
Yeah, of course, yeah and, likeyou said it, she realizes after
she overheard her daughterstalking that it really kind of
messed them up and they feltlike she chose that over them.
Yeah, and there's so much moreto it than than that, although I

(37:47):
don't blame amanda and may youknow for feeling the way they do
so it's messed up all around,so we'll see what happens.
I mean, we have one moreepisode of this season.
We know they're shooting seasontwo, so I'm curious about what's
going to happen how they'regoing to end it.

Garry (38:02):
I have no idea.
This actually could have beenthe last episode.
It would have been a greatcliffhanger yes, yeah, because
she faints.

Amy (38:09):
We got the letter.
We got lindsey and sabrinastill at each other's throats.
The only people who are reallyworking and clicking right now
are may and jay yeah, may andjay jay and may.
Yeah, yeah, wow so so I Ithought that was just.
It was a really really goodepisode so out of five corks.
How many?

Garry (38:28):
corks, do you give?

Amy (38:29):
it.
I give it a five I'd give itmore if I could.
But we rated on five zero tofive corks, I guess five.
Yeah, I think it was one of thebest episodes, yeah.

Garry (38:40):
For sure I agree with you , yep, so is that a wrap?

Amy (38:42):
That's a wrap.
