Amy (04:19):
Leah Thompson.

Garry (04:20):
We love her, nice, of course we know and love Leah
from the 80s, the 80s.
That's right With our favoriteslike Back to the Future movies,
red Dawn and Some Kind ofWonderful, some kind of
wonderful you Okay, I'm sorryshe was also in Next Top

(04:41):
Christmas and the.
Jane Doe.
Mysteries of Poor Hallmark.
I know right, it's crazy.
Okay, go ahead In fact, hervery first directing credit was
a Jane Doe mystery.
The Harder they Fall.

Amy (04:55):
That's pretty cool.

Garry (04:57):
Yeah, it is right.
Some of her other 15 directingcredits include three episodes
of Will Trent.
Some of her other 15 directingcredits include three episodes
of Will Trent, 10 episodes ofthe Goldbergs, which we loved,
and six episodes of SchooledSchooled.

Amy (05:12):
You've been schooled.

Garry (05:15):
This episode was written by Erin Gibson.
Erin was a writer in season oneand is now the showrunner and
executive producer for seasontwo.
That's really cool, I knowright.

Amy (05:24):
She got a promotion.

Garry (05:24):
yeah, get that promotion.
You gotta get it.
When you can get it, that'sright.
She has over two dozen writingcredits, including eight
episodes of Tiny ToonLuniversity.
I'd like to go there, get adegree.

Amy (05:37):
Luniversity.
I think we're already there, Iknow right and 52 episodes of
Throwing Shave.

Garry (05:45):
Dun and 52 episodes of Throwing Shave, so is it time to
drop the synopsis?

Amy (05:49):
You want me to drop the synopsis?

Garry (05:51):
Yes.

Amy (05:53):
Okay, here we go, the synopsis for Season 2, Episode 1
.
With their two restaurantsfinally united as the Chicken
Sisters, Gus, Nancy, Amanda andMay are thriving until Kitchen
Clash premieres.
Ooh, and what a premiere.
It was right, man, which we'llget to man man man Uh-huh.

Garry (06:12):
Well, we'll probably give away some spoilers.

Amy (06:15):
Yeah, we probably will so please, please, please, press
pause.

Garry (06:18):
Go and watch the episode and then, come back and listen
to us, right, because we don'twant you to be mad at us.

Amy (06:24):
Please, then, come back and listen to us, right, because we
don't want you to be mad at us.
Please don't be mad at us?
Yeah, this is your warning, your fair warning, right?
Yes, it is.

Garry (06:30):
So what did you think?

Amy (06:34):
Okay, so I was thinking about this episode and I thought
it was good, I thought it was agood start back to the season.

Garry (06:43):
I thought it was a good start.
Back to the season.

Amy (06:45):
I feel like if you haven't watched season one, could you
just pick up here, because wetalk about that a lot Could you
just pick up and I think youcould.
I think you could watch itfresh.

Garry (07:08):
But I also think that there's such depth to the
characters in season one.

Amy (07:09):
Yes, you should go watch it .
Can you watch season twowithout having watched season
one?
Yeah, and you could pick it up,you know, along the way I think
, but there's so muchintricacies of each character
yeah that go back and watchseason one, because we really,

(07:37):
really enjoyed that.
So we did um.
Having said, that though.
Yeah, but that's always hard, sometimes the first episode,
even in the new season you knowthey're kind of getting their
footing again.
It picks up what eight monthsafter the end of the last one.

Garry (07:50):
Yeah.

Amy (07:51):
I think or about that.
It's not like immediately after.

Garry (07:54):
Right right.

Amy (07:55):
So there's been some time.
So you know we're trying toplay catch up too, to see where
everyone's at what's going on,so I thought it was good it
what's going on, so I thought itwas good.
It wasn't my favorite episode, you know, between last season
and this, but I think it'll pickup.
Hopefully it's going to pick upfrom here.
What about you?

Garry (08:12):
What do you think, well, I will say this, the last, like
I would say, 10, 15 minutes.
Oh yeah, really really pickedup.

Amy (08:19):
Yeah, that's where it kicked up.

Garry (08:20):
Yes, yes, I agree, kicked up, yes, yes, I agree.
I mean there were some greatparts in this.
I mean I thought, like I said,I thought it was good but right,
go ahead.
Sorry, but yeah, I mean Ienjoyed the episode.
I mean I I feel like thecharacters are now working
really well together.
The actors, yeah.
Um, I feel like the story ispicking up where it left off and

(08:43):
you, you know like in the lastseason you picked this out of.
In every episode they show thechicken.

Amy (08:52):
Yeah, at the beginning it's something different, right.

Garry (08:55):
It's somewhere different and it usually has to do with
the episode itself.
And this one you pick it upright at the beginning and it's
made out of the flowers made outof flowers, which we'll talk
about later on in thisdiscussion, but no, I really
enjoyed it.

Amy (09:14):
You really enjoyed it.
Okay, that's great yeah.

Garry (09:17):
So you want to get into it.

Amy (09:19):
Let's get into it.

Garry (09:20):
All right.

Amy (09:22):
So, like I said, it picks up.
What about eight months?
After the end of the lastepisode.
So you know time has moved onum.
Nancy's been dating thepreacher.
I know, right, nancy and gusare living to, or gus has moved
in with nancy?
Yes, she burned her housedown-hmm, Although insurance

(09:44):
doesn't know that right.

Garry (09:45):
Right, right, right, it was a lightning bolt.

Amy (09:47):
Right, it was a lightning, that's right, that's right, it
was a lightning bolt.
So Gus is living with Nancy.

Garry (09:55):
You got May and Jay.

Amy (09:58):
May and Jay are planning their wedding.

Garry (10:00):
They're planning their wedding Right, Sergio and Amanda
.
They're kind of flirting alittle bit.

Amy (10:08):
Well, they developed a friendship.
They kind of moved past, hopefully, the feelings or
whatever happened between them.

Garry (10:15):
I know.
And you have Shauna, who'scontinuing her many jobs which I
love, and she's making moneywhere she can at Shawna is.
She is a go-getter.

Amy (10:27):
She's selling shirts yeah.

Garry (10:29):
And then we got Frankie and Lindsey.
You know the two girls.
Right the best friends, we gota storyline going there.
We got Sabrina, who is in NewYork, is now coming back, so we
got a lot going on, yeah.

Amy (10:43):
There's just a lot, yeah, right, so we got a lot going on.
Yeah, there's just a lot, yeah,yeah, there's a lot.
So, like I said at the verybeginning, I mean, what do you
think of the Nancy Gus, likeNancy's trying to keep Gus
healthy.
We kind of see that right atthe beginning because Gus had
the issue with her MS right.

Garry (11:01):
Right, right, the bacon.

Amy (11:02):
Yeah, yeah.
So Gus feels like Nancy's kindof watching over.
So they still have that banter.
That was classic from lastseason.
Only it's a little bit lessbecause they kind of like each
other now.
They're not such enemies likethey used to be.
So you kind of start off withthe two of them and Nancy, you
know, and the pastor comes totalk to Nancy a little bit about

(11:25):
their date later.

Garry (11:26):
And Gus is like well, you can move in with the pastor and
I'll stay here.
Yeah, because she wants thehouse to herself, so she's not
micromanaged.
Yeah, it's pretty funny.

Amy (11:36):
Amanda and Sergio.
They're kind of joking around alittle bit in the kitchen right
, and then Gus is like if you'reyakking, you're slacking.

Garry (11:43):
So I like that.

Amy (11:44):
We had some Gus-isms this time, you know, or in this
episode again like like lastseason.
So it was pretty good.
And then, you know, we kind ofmoved to May and Jay, which we
discussed about their planningtheir wedding.
But at the end of last seasonMay sees a picture and she
thinks she knows who her dad isRight, so that's sort of going
to be a theme in this episodealso.

(12:06):
Right Because she.
And it comes up because Jaysays his mom is looking forward
to the mother son.

Garry (12:13):
Right.

Amy (12:14):
Dance and then asked him if May was going to be dancing
with her dad or her father.

Garry (12:20):
Yeah, so yeah.

Amy (12:24):
So May is really, really curious about who her dad is,
and she thinks it is FarmerJarvis because he's in the
picture with her mom.

Garry (12:32):
Yes.

Amy (12:34):
Right and she's kind of afraid to ask Gus who her dad is
, but she's trying to kind ofbuild up the courage to do that.

Garry (12:42):
Right and she thinks she has his mannerisms.
So it's kind of funny how, ifyou think something, you see it.

Amy (12:50):
You can see it.
Yeah, that's a good point.

Garry (12:52):
And it's not necessarily always the truth.
Yeah, yeah, I thought that wasfunny.

Amy (12:58):
And then you have, you know , Shauna, who's trying to push
Amanda to date.

Garry (13:03):
Oh man, that was such a great scene.

Amy (13:04):
Yeah, and then Amanda.
Of course we have Frank Jr whodoesn't want to get a divorce,
he's not signing the divorcepapers.
Yeah, and then you also see aglimpse of Frank Jr and his new
restaurant.
I know the Chicken Cluckery orsomething.

Garry (13:21):
Yeah, it's the Chicken Cluckery, it's the Chicken
Cluckery.
Yes, and it's all frozen andinstant.
Right, right, and it's allfrozen and instant.

Amy (13:29):
Right, right, it was so wild.
So you see that they're cuttingcorners right by the frozen
vegetables instant mashedpotatoes.

Garry (13:40):
You know what that reminded me of?
What Remember?
The movie we saw aboutMcDonald's.
Yes, and how the McDonaldbrothers built that industry up.
Yes, and how the McDonaldbrothers built that industry up,
built that McDonald's up, andit was all fresh and they had a
system.
And then what's his name?
Who played him?

Amy (13:58):
Michael Keaton.

Garry (13:59):
Yes, Michael Keaton comes in and he wants to be a part of
it and he gets them to changetheir menu and everything to
like frozen and well, hestreamlines.

Amy (14:10):
He streamlines a lot of things which was good, but he
also made some changes that thebrothers didn't like.

Garry (14:16):
And he took control.

Amy (14:17):
I mean it's a real based on the true story of McDonald's.

Garry (14:20):
Right and but that's, that's what that kind of
reminded me of.

Amy (14:23):
Yeah, yeah Well, that's yeah Well, that's well, and
that's what Frank Jr has gone to.

Garry (14:29):
He's gone to like a franchise-type restaurant with
Mr Chicken yeah, with thatwonderful and his little videos.

Amy (14:39):
Non-chauvinistic.

Garry (14:41):
No, he's a total chauvinistic guy.

Amy (14:43):
Yeah, he's got like the TED Talks or the motivational
you're the man tapes.
So he's gone into business.
Well, I guess for him, maybenot with him, I don't really
know.
So, everything, yeah, isn'tfresh, isn't like what his dad
and his mom's family hadproduced for all those years?

Garry (15:07):
So yeah, we kind of see that.
What I thought was funny withwith uh Shauna and that one
scene is when Amanda's talkingto her about the divorce papers
and Shauna said, oh, she can getthem to sign with uh, she can
get them to sign them with alittle bit of live humiliation.
Public humiliation Publichumiliation which I thought was

(15:30):
so funny.

Amy (15:32):
And then Amanda says we're not going to stoop to that level
and Shauna says that level'sfun.

Garry (15:36):
Yeah, and I love how she changes her voice.
When she does that, she is sogood.
It gets deeper.

Amy (15:43):
Oh my gosh, I love her character.
Yes, she's so good.
And then that's when she givesher a book to read, yes, the
romance book.

Garry (15:52):
It's called Queen of Cowboys Queen of Cowboys, which
it's interesting because youpicked this out in the first
season where they were passingaround that one book.

Amy (16:03):
Yeah, jodi Picoult.
Oh, we meant to.
I forget which book it was.

Garry (16:07):
Yeah and it popped up in a lot of the episodes.

Amy (16:09):
And they debated about how to say your username.

Garry (16:11):
Yeah, I'm wondering if they're going to do the same
thing with this book.

Amy (16:14):
I don't know, we'll see what was it called Cowboys?

Garry (16:16):
Queen of Cowboys.

Amy (16:20):
She's like you read this to pass the time, until you're
dating again, you know, orwhatever.

Garry (16:24):
Yeah, it's just this big, big book.
She says something about abareback Bronco ride.

Amy (16:31):
She is so funny to me.

Garry (16:33):
She is really good.

Amy (16:33):
That character is such and, oh my gosh, she's so good, yeah
, yeah.

Garry (16:38):
And then we get into Sabrina, who actually starts off
in New.

Amy (16:42):
York City.
She's in a cab.

Garry (16:44):
She's trying to get these auditions yeah right.
And then she gets this textfrom I'm assuming it's Amanda
that apparently what happenedwas Lindsay took a flight.

Amy (16:57):
No, she gets a notification that her credit card has been
charged for an airline TicketsSouthwest she's like $900 or
whatever it was, I don't know.

Garry (17:05):
Yeah, yeah.

Amy (17:07):
She gets a notification that there's been a large charge
on her credit card.

Garry (17:11):
Yeah.

Amy (17:12):
And then she instantly knows that it was probably
Lindsay, her daughter and sheknows where she's going, right,
right.
So now she's got to leave NewYork and head back to Maranac
and that brings her back toMaranac, yeah.
That was a pretty good way ofbringing her back.

Garry (17:27):
Yes.

Amy (17:27):
Because you wonder?
Because she leaves right at theend of last season.

Garry (17:31):
Mm-hmm, and yeah, because her and Lindsay left in a cab,
that's right and Frankie.
Frankie, I think, has a thingfor her and she was kind of
heartbroken.

Amy (17:41):
Amanda's daughter Frankie has a thing for her.

Garry (17:45):
Or Sabrina's daughter Lindsay yeah, watching her drive
away, but now she comes back,so I thought that was pretty
cool.

Amy (17:49):
Yeah, yeah, that was pretty cool.
Well, while we're talking aboutLindsay, then do you want to
discuss her?

Garry (17:54):
Yeah, let's go ahead and do that.

Amy (17:56):
So Lindsay's bought the plane ticket to go right.
So she shows up in Maranac.
Now she doesn't tell them she'scoming right.

Garry (18:04):
No, doesn't she just show up at the door?
No, she just shows up atAmanda's house.

Amy (18:07):
At Amanda's house.
That's right.

Garry (18:09):
And Frankie answers the door because Amanda's still at
work and she's so happy.
You could see the look onFrankie's face.
She was so happy.

Amy (18:18):
Happy to see her right, but then she realizes that, but
Lindsay's upset right with herdad because you know, her dad
basically said he finally has asecond chance at being a good
dad.

Garry (18:30):
Right.

Amy (18:31):
And then she's very upset because it's like you know, he's
acting like he's not my dadanymore, just because I'm 17.

Garry (18:38):
Right, yeah, right.

Amy (18:39):
And can we talk about the marshmallows in that scene?
Those things are huge.

Garry (18:42):
So when.

Amy (18:43):
Lindsay is telling Frankie about her dad and she's crying
and they're having like hotchocolate or something and those
are the biggest marshmallowsI've ever seen.
Now we, you know, I've I'veseen the large marshmallows, the
jet puff or whatevermarshmallows at the grocery
store, but I've never seenmarshmallows that big.
I'm like what are those?

Garry (19:05):
She can only put one in at a time.
The thing was almost biggerthan the cup.

Amy (19:09):
I know where do we get those large marshmallows,
because those would be killerover a campfire or something
where you could roast them.

Garry (19:18):
Oh yes, bring those please it kind of reminded me of
finding mr christmas, and theydid that marshmallow, oh yes.
Those big, huge marshmallowswhere they had to take the water
and then squeeze it into thecup to overflow the marshmallows
.

Amy (19:34):
That's a sidebar Watch.
Finding Mr Christmas that's agood unscripted show, also known
as reality TV, but really goodon homework and it's coming back
for season two.

Garry (19:42):
And you know what else is funny.
So in that same scene, Amandacomes home and so Lindsay is
like oh, I got to hide, I got tohide, she can't know I'm here.
And she goes and hides in thecloset and Frankie turns to her
mom and is like hey, what areyou doing?
And Amanda is like what's goingon and she says something about

(20:04):
what, was it some kind of prank?
And then she opens the closetand there's Lindsay.

Amy (20:10):
But I find it funny that these kids they think they can
get away with it Like we'restupid.
Well, it was like Frankie isacting weird.
Amanda immediately picks up onit and she's like what's going
on?

Garry (20:21):
I know they don't understand.
We've done it.
Been there, done it, you know.
So then I also find it funny.
I guess something with therailroad arm.
Now Everybody's getting stuckbehind it.

Amy (20:36):
Because it won't go up.

Garry (20:37):
It's broken, it won't go up.
Yeah.

Amy (20:40):
So Nancy got stuck behind it right.
So then they all have thismeeting at-.

Garry (20:46):
Franny's.

Amy (20:47):
At Franny's right.
Well, well, it's called thechicken sisters now right, yeah
they changed the name, but yeahit's franny's building um.
So who is it that shows up?
It's may gus jay sergio jayamanda may right, they're all
and are they discussing um?

Garry (21:06):
they're talking about the premiere right.
They're talking about thepremiere.

Amy (21:08):
Right, they're talking about the premiere coming up and
Sergio kind of tries to warnthem, like you know what reality
shows do.

Garry (21:14):
Right.

Amy (21:14):
Because they have.
You know, kitchen Clash isgoing to be premiering pretty
soon.
And they're all like what?
It'll be fine?
And May tries to tell them, oh,it'll be fine, it's going to be
totally fine.
And he's like, oh, I don't know, they twist it.
You know they twist and turnthings.

Garry (21:30):
Which they do.

Amy (21:31):
Yeah.

Garry (21:32):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, it's not reality.

Amy (21:35):
It's sort of reality, adjacent, right, right, right,
right, reality TV.
So and you know, I thought whatwas cool too is at the
beginning you kind of see thatsince that show has, since the
show came and filmed and youknow, and the production team,
left right, like like may andamanda, they're all stars now in

(21:56):
their town.
They walk in and they get kindof.
You know everybody is cheeringfor them and they're all excited
that it's bringing whatattention to the town and maybe
bringing people is going tobring people in right right,
they haven't.
it hasn't premiered yet, butit's coming up, so they're kind
of treated like stars andAmanda's like soaking it all up
and loving it, you know, andMay's just enjoying watching

(22:17):
Amanda.
Yes, enjoy so.

Garry (22:20):
Yeah, and Amanda realizes that May's lying because she
has a tell when she lies, rightshe kind of looks up and Right
she kind of looks up andeverything.

Amy (22:28):
Mae's lying when she says it'll be fine.

Garry (22:30):
It'll be fine.

Amy (22:30):
They're not going to twist anything, it's going to be good,
right.
And then you have.
I thought I did think it wasgood that we have the
continuation of Mae's growth, because in the last season she
really she was the one whoreally saw the error of her ways
a lot and really came aroundand tried to apologize and was
trying to make amends and comingback, you know.

(22:53):
So she apologizes to Amandaabout ruining her wedding
because she tried to talk Amandaout of marrying Frank Jr.

Garry (23:00):
Yeah.

Amy (23:00):
And Amanda's, basically like it was the right message
just the wrong time.

Garry (23:04):
Yeah, which I thought was brilliant.
Yeah, I thought that was reallygood.

Amy (23:08):
And then Amanda's.
Like you know, once Mamadisowned me I didn't think about
it anymore anyway.
And you realize Gus islistening.
And then we find out that Gustoo has made a lot of changes in
these eight months.
She's made, but it's still hardfor her to talk about things
that she did that hurt her girls.
Yeah, like she's having a hardtime fessing up to things that

(23:28):
she did that hurt her girls.
Yeah, like she's having a hardtime fessing up, yeah, to things
that happened in the past.

Garry (23:32):
But she is moving forward I think she's probably the
second character that has made abig change yes, gus, yeah, yes,
yes, I agree, so um, and thenwe have may confronting farmer
jarvis I thought it was so funnyhow she just walks up to her
like we're having a survey ofMay confronting Farmer Jarvis
while he's eating.
I thought it was so funny howshe just walks up to him like

(23:53):
we're having a survey of what isyour best, what side do you
love the most?
And he says green beans and shejust lights up because that's
her favorite side.

Amy (24:02):
She's like me too.

Garry (24:03):
And then she turns around and starts to walk away and she
has this big old smile.

Amy (24:08):
Right, I thought that was so funny.
Well then he tells her he'sproud of her.

Garry (24:11):
Yes.

Amy (24:11):
And she's like, oh, it's my daddy, my daddy.
May really thinks that she ison to something, but when she
goes to talk to her mom about it, yes.
Her mom drops the bomb.
It can't be Farmer.
Jarvis, because that's hersecond cousin.

Garry (24:29):
And she's like well, what about the picture he's touching
your belly?
And Gus is like that's how hetells the gender of the baby.

Amy (24:39):
And usually he's right, well, she said he's 50% right or
something like that.
He has a 50% chance.

Garry (24:45):
That was funny.

Amy (24:46):
So then May tries to talk to gus yeah, about who her daddy
, her daddy is.
Then after that, and gus reallydoesn't want to tell her right,
and may gets upset, but not notupset like she used to in the
past.
She's not going to run awayfrom it, she's not, you know,
she just is she's upset, butyeah there's nothing she can do

(25:07):
right, right, if Gus won't tellher, she won't tell her.

Garry (25:10):
Yeah, but that's cool.

Amy (25:14):
She'll tell her when she wants to tell her when she wants
to tell her.
Yeah, but then a little bitlater.
You see, gus, after May leavesbecause, she's at her restaurant
.
She pulls out the box and thathas to do with may's dad so it's
like a memorabilia.

Garry (25:30):
It's got yeah, I don't even know.
Yeah, stuff out of it, letters.
Yeah, was that a wedding dressshe pulled out of there, or it
looked like it was.

Amy (25:39):
I'm not really sure yeah, but I thought it was interesting
because the narration is.
Gus hoped one day that thethings may's dad had done would
quit hurting, but they never didyeah so today's the day she
decided that Mae was moreimportant than her broken heart.

Garry (25:54):
Yeah, and that's improvement for Gus.
Yeah.

Amy (25:58):
You know because she so.
She's pulling out this box andyou can tell she's contemplating
, she's going to tell.
Mae who her nitty is.
Yes, her nitty is right, andthen the song was so good.

Garry (26:13):
And that's what I meant to look up was what the name of
the song was.
During that scene they had somereally good songs in this
episode.

Amy (26:15):
They had some really good songs in this episode.

Garry (26:17):
Man.

Amy (26:18):
Yes, that we have to find, but you know what was?
Interesting to me is the scenewhere Gus pulls up to the
dumpster and I'm thinking ohplease don't revert back to the
hoarding, yes yes, and I'mthinking, oh, please don't
revert back to the hoardingright you think she's going to
do that and she bends down, shepicks something up and she
throws it in the dumpster.

Garry (26:35):
And then she looks over, there's a bike on the ground.
I'm thinking, oh, she's justgoing to grab the bike because
maybe she wants to fix it andjust ride around the town, right
.
But she picks up a yellowflower and the yellow flower is
what the chicken symbol was madeout of at the beginning, and
it's also what was in her tinbox that she pulled out of the

(26:56):
walk-in refrigerator and Ithought that was a good-.

Amy (26:59):
Was there a yellow flower in there?
Yeah, there was a yellow flowerin there.
I didn't notice it was yellow.
Oh, okay, it was dried.
I didn't pick up on that.
Yeah, it was dried, but youknow what I thought in that
moment.
So, gus, yeah, she's at herhouse.
It's burned to the ground, there's a big dumpster with all
the burned stuff in it, right, like you said, she tosses

(27:19):
something in there and then shepicks up the flower, but then
she kind of smells the flowerand she kind of smiles and you
got to think, like to me it waslike a new beginning, like a
fresh start To me.
Me it sort of signified maybeletting all that stuff go.
Finally, you know the physicalstuff and the emotional stuff
and moving forward.

Garry (27:38):
Yeah.

Amy (27:42):
Because she is wanting to tell me who her dad is, and
that's you know.
So that's how I viewed thatmoment too.
Is just that it's like new life?
Yeah, kind of you know.
And things bloom again in thespring.

Garry (27:50):
It's a good way of putting it.

Amy (27:53):
Yeah, that was kind of how I viewed that particular moment.

Garry (27:56):
Yeah, I can see that.

Amy (27:58):
And then we have Frank Jr.

Garry (27:59):
Oh my God, I'm telling you he cannot tie his own shoes
apparently.

Amy (28:05):
I'm telling you James, you do a perfect job because I hate
you in this TV series.
I hate you, you don't hate him,you don't hate the actor, the
character, you hate thecharacter, frank.

Garry (28:19):
You do such a good job, frank Jr.

Amy (28:23):
It's like he didn't grow at all and we talked about this
last season.
Is that you think like he hasmoments where you're like, oh,
maybe he's finally changing, andno, he's not Nope, nope and
then you think, and it's likethey're showing you that he is
not gonna change.

Garry (28:38):
Yeah.

Amy (28:39):
But as a human, you wanna believe it.
You know you're like oh maybehe'll change, but he comes over
to well, his old house, theirold house.
Right old house, but he doesn'tlive there anymore.
Amanda, you know, lives thereand um or rightly so right um,
so he comes over because he well, he had asked amanda earlier if

(28:59):
he could come over.

Garry (29:00):
Come by the house right and amanda said you can come
over, but bring the signeddivorce papers right, right.

Amy (29:06):
So he's like okay, because what did he?
He didn't say anything aboutlaundry, did he?
He wanted?

Garry (29:11):
to come over to for something he had, some
documentation he needed filledout.

Amy (29:16):
That's right.
That's right For his newcompany and the insurance and
stuff.

Garry (29:19):
Yeah, and he didn't know what the information he didn't
know like his blood type.

Amy (29:22):
He didn't, and then like, so then he comes over to the
house and he just happens tobring his laundry basket and
happens to still have his keyand we we had heard earlier.
You know amanda had admittedthat he was still coming over
and doing laundry.
Mays like amanda?

Garry (29:36):
yeah, you know, like what are you doing?

Amy (29:38):
so then he brings that, so then he's like she answers the
question, she's like last fouris this you know, your blood
type is this and this is thelast time you went for that and
I'm like, oh my, he cannot.
I mean, oh gracious, my, hecannot, I mean oh gracious.
So then he wants to do hislaundry and she's like, okay,
just separate.
And then she's like you've gotto separate the clothes and then
she's like, wait a minute.

Garry (29:59):
Yeah, yeah, Wait a minute .
And then she realizes what theheck am I doing.

Amy (30:03):
What am I doing?
Where are the papers?
Like papers, and of coursefrank jr is like oh, I seem to
have forgotten him again and I'dbe like bye, and I would change
the locks.

Garry (30:16):
She didn't want anything to do with it and he was like
you know I love you, I miss you,I'm sorry and you know I I want
our life back because I lovedit.

Amy (30:25):
And she was like I didn't he said it was great or
something.

Garry (30:29):
And she said for you, for you yeah, For you it was great.
Yeah, so that was a really goodscene.

Amy (30:34):
Yeah, I thought that though .

Garry (30:35):
And then he ends up leaving and he forgets his
laundry and she's like uh-uh,come and get it.

Amy (30:40):
Take your laundry.

Garry (30:41):
So he gets back in his car and they pan down to the
seat where the divorce paperactually were.

Amy (30:48):
Come on, man, sign them.
You could sign them.
And then that's where thenarrator says you know what's
about as useless as a pogo stickand quicksand unsigned divorce
papers.
And I'm like does anybody knowwhat a pogo stick is anymore?
I mean really, you think thekid we don't see?

(31:11):
We have a ton of kids in thisneighborhood and I've never seen
one on a pogo stick.
Do they still make them anymore?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I had one growing up.
I know the kids had one growingup, but I don't know if that's
a thing anymore.

Garry (31:19):
I know.

Amy (31:20):
Is that a lost metaphor?
I don't know.

Garry (31:22):
And then you have Lindsay , who's staying over at Amanda's
, and she's woken up by somecrazy sound outside and she goes
into Amanda's house, a room, towake her up, and you can just
now.
She lived in New York, so youhave all those sounds, right.
Right, right, she's used totrains and people screaming and

(31:43):
all that stuff.
Then you move to the countryand it's like crickets, right.
You get all the bugs and stuffand I just thought that was a
really interesting scene.

Amy (31:52):
That one sound would bother her in the quiet of yeah as you
know me, I got to have a fan,the ceiling fan, a floor fan and
a noise maker, A noise soundmachine, yeah.

Garry (32:02):
Yeah, believe me, I understand that.
I'm related to it.

Amy (32:06):
So you think all that other , like all the other, like New
York noise, she's used to that.

Garry (32:11):
But then you go there and it was like an animal or
something that Amanda said FrankJr was supposed to get rid of
but didn't, but didn't.

Amy (32:18):
Yeah, but and then you have .
Then you have Sabrina.
She's pulling up in a truck andshe's trying to drive.

Garry (32:24):
A dually yeah.

Amy (32:26):
This huge.

Garry (32:27):
Black truck with flames on the side of the doors.

Amy (32:32):
It's bigger than like a pickup.
I don't even know what kind ofit's called a dually.

Garry (32:35):
I think I'm terrible with cars.

Amy (32:35):
Yeah.
So she's like stop, start, stop, start.
And she's getting to the house, you know, to Amanda's house,
where Lindsay is, and then shegoes in and I think you know she
looks at Lindsay and she's likeyou're in big trouble, young
lady.
But then she just gives her ahug, which?

Garry (32:50):
I thought was cool yeah.

Amy (32:51):
So you kind of see that she has softened as well.
Right, because last time shewas a little harsher, a little
harder.
Her character, yeah, hercharacter has grown, so that's
good, and then they decide tostay for a couple weeks.

Garry (33:06):
Yeah.

Amy (33:06):
Until the wedding, right, because the wedding's going to
be in a couple weeks, so they'regoing to stay through the
premiere of Kitchen Clash.

Garry (33:13):
And the girls are happy.

Amy (33:14):
Right and the girls are excited.

Garry (33:15):
Yeah, right.
And then you get Mr Chickenshowing up.

Amy (33:19):
Mr Chicken shows up at the cluckery.
And he gives Junior another peptalk and I just thought Well,
what's interesting about that ishe says he's seen a cut of the
show and it's going to go verywell for.

Garry (33:34):
Frank Jr.

Amy (33:35):
And so, as the audience watching it, we know it's not
going to go well for some of theothers, because Frank Jr is not
a nice guy.

Garry (33:43):
He's kind of an ass.
Yeah, he is, he is an ass right, he's like a chauvinistic.

Amy (33:48):
So now we know that the reality show is going to twist
some things, and some things didhappen, but they're going to
really err on the side of,because if Frank Jr comes off as
an angel, we're in trouble.

Garry (34:04):
Yeah.
And then we have the pastorconstantly telling Nancy he has
a proposal for her yeah.
So Nancy, throughout the show,is thinking he's going to
propose to her.
I forgot about that.
Yeah, and you're not sure whathe's going to do, but I thought
that was a nice little insertinto the show.

Amy (34:23):
Yeah, yeah.
So then are we getting to theKitchen Clash premiere.

Garry (34:26):
Yeah, we're getting to the Clash.
They're all at Franny's.
They're all at Franny's,they're all at Franny's.
And of course you have Shaunaselling her T-shirts.

Amy (34:33):
Selling her T-shirts.

Garry (34:34):
Making the money Making bank.

Amy (34:37):
Yes, I thought that was so funny.
And then you have the mayorshows up right With a giant key.
Right the mayor shows up.
Oh does he.

Garry (34:45):
Yeah, he gives her a giant key.
Yeah, yeah To this.
Gives it to Nancy.

Amy (34:50):
So then you have May apologizes to Gus.

Garry (34:54):
Yes.

Amy (34:54):
And says you know, I'm sorry that I asked you who my
dad was.
I know it upset you or whatever.
And you can see Gus, like I'mnot sure if she's relieved
because now she's not going totell her Right Because she
apologized, or is she just like, appreciates the apology but is
still going to tell her.

Garry (35:11):
Like we don't know right, yeah, but she called somebody
on the piece of paper she pulledout of that tin can, so we
don't know who she called.

Amy (35:17):
You're right, we don't know .

Garry (35:19):
Yeah, we're not sure I'm going to assume someone's going
to show up somewhere down theline.

Amy (35:23):
Right, and then you have Lindsay and Frankie hanging out
in a booth and another kid showsup and he says he's Frankie's
boyfriend.

Garry (35:31):
And.

Amy (35:31):
Lindsay has a shocked look on her face.

Garry (35:34):
But we don't know, we don't know there might be more
context Right.

Amy (35:37):
And so does Frankie.
So we're not sure what thecontext of that is going to be.
Yet Sabrina sees Gus and islike good to see you, gus,
loving the hair.
And Gus is like Nancy did it tome Because her hair is cut
short, which is really funny.

Garry (35:52):
Yes, I loved it.

Amy (35:54):
And then you have yeah.
So they're all sitting down, they're all sitting around, like
a lot of the townspeople havecome in for the premiere.
The mayor, the mayor, they'reall there, yeah.

Garry (36:05):
And Sabrina under her breath kind of says I wonder if
they used the hidden camerafootage and May was like what.

Amy (36:13):
No, may said, Kitchen Clutch doesn't use hidden
cameras.

Garry (36:16):
And then Sabrina just looks at her and says some
people don't read theircontracts.
Uh-huh, yeah, so you know.

Amy (36:27):
So May knows just before it airs that there's probably
going to be stuff airing that'snot good Right.
So then the premiere starts, everybody's excited, they're
cheering, right.
And then they show the preview.
They haven't even shown theepisode yet, right?
So the preview we see Sabrinaquitting.

Garry (36:46):
Yes.

Amy (36:46):
Because she quits.
At the very end they show alittle bit about the sweet tea
debate.
Remember when they madesomething not sweet tea?

Garry (36:53):
Yeah, that's when Amanda played the prank on her.

Amy (36:55):
That's like a crime in the.
South to try to serve somebodyunsweet tea.
Then you have Nancy and Gusfighting over the hose which
happened last season, and thenMay saying I can't believe I
ever lived in this podunk town.

Garry (37:10):
And then she's like I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
You know, at the premiere.
And then, well, you have Amandabreaking into the restaurant
Right Getting ready to do herthing, and then you have the
Amanda Sergio kiss, yep.
And then it flashes back to thecluckery and Frank Jr is like

(37:30):
Frank.
What?

Amy (37:31):
Oh, frank Jr, the cluckery and frank jr is like frank.
What?

Garry (37:33):
oh, frank jr right right, because he doesn't know right,
throw something at the tv andthen we go back to franny's and
everybody's like well, well, thewell, the big reveal there too,
is that nancy saw yes, youforgot.
Yes, so we see the kiss.

Amy (37:46):
But then you also see, nancy saw the kiss.
So now Frank Jr knows, not onlywas there a kiss, but his mom
saw it and never said anything.

Garry (37:55):
Yes, how humiliating, right Right.

Amy (37:58):
But you know, what I thought was interesting was May
kind of acted a little shocked, and maybe she was shocked that
they were showing it.
But she knew about the kissright, because remember when,
because Amanda told her that herand Sergio had kissed.

Garry (38:12):
But she didn't tell her how it went down.

Amy (38:14):
Right right.
So, yeah, so then that's prettymuch the shocking end.

Garry (38:18):
Yeah, and Sergio was right and the episode hasn't
even started yet.

Amy (38:21):
It's just the preview of Kitchen Clash and so so it's
going to be interesting.
I think they have um reallygood places to go yep I think
there's a lot that they you knowI, so I think it's going to be
interesting yeah, I think thisseason.
I'm curious about it.
I still love all of thecharacters.

(38:42):
Yeah, I love all the actors whoplay the characters.
Like you said, the chemistry isstill there and it's going to
be cool to see where it goesyeah, I can't wait, I'm looking
forward to it, yeah.
So out of five drumsticks, howmany did you get?
Five chicken drumsticks, yes.

Garry (38:56):
Five chicken drumsticks.

Amy (38:57):
How many chicken I would probably give this one, probably
like a three and a half.

Garry (39:06):
I was going to give it a four.
You were going to give it afour.
Yeah, Three and a half four.

Amy (39:09):
I was going to give it a four.
You're going to give it a four, yeah, three and a half four.
I thought it was good.
It was missing some of thatquick wit, some of those quick
one-liners that we got in thefirst season with Gus and even
Nancy Right Her Nancy-isms andthe narrator was good, but it
was sort of some hoping yeah.

Garry (39:25):
I think it's going to pick up.
That picks back up and it comesback.

Amy (39:28):
Yeah, so yeah, three and a half, so definitely worth the
watch, I think.

Garry (39:31):
I think so too.
So is that a wrap, that's awrap, all right.
