Let us know your thoughts aboutlast season of Chicken Sisters,
if you're watching this seasonso far, what you think, your
thoughts, or just let us knowabout anything Hallmark-y?

Garry (01:19):
Yes, yes, let us know.
Let us know, like you're goingto let us know who's in this one
.

Amy (01:25):
Okay, so new to this episode, to episode number two,
we have David James Elliottappears at the very end, but he
still appears.
Yes, he still appears he playsClayton Ridge III and I wouldn't
know that unless they had saidit during the episode.

(01:45):
Because it is not yet on IMDb.
Well, actually I take that back.
The Chicken Sisters is listedon his IMDb, but no character
name, so maybe they'll get to iteventually.
I found one other Hallmarkproduction of his.
It was called Dad's Home andthat was in 2010.
Some of his other work includesthe sci-fi series Revival.

(02:07):
He was in 10 episodes of that.
He was in the movie Heart ofChampions.
He was in the TV seriesSpinning Out for 10 episodes.
He was in an episode ofScorpion.

Garry (02:19):
Nice.

Amy (02:20):
We love that series.

Garry (02:21):
Love Scorpion.

Amy (02:22):
Of course, fans largely know and love him for his
portrayal of Harmon Rabb for 227episodes of the TV series Jag
and Jag ran for 10 years andalso starred Good Witch actress
Catherine Bell.
Yes, it did, yes, it did.

Garry (02:41):
And let's not forget who directed this episode, season
two, episode two it was LeahThompson.

Amy (02:47):
Leah Thompson.

Garry (02:48):
Yeah.

Amy (02:48):
And we have a hard time finding the writers for these.
We're not trying to not say whothey are, right, it's sort of
hard to get the details.
I know last, at the beginningof episode one of season two, we
talked about how Erin Gibsonhad taken over as showrunner and
EP, so I'm not sure how muchshe's involved in the writing.

Garry (03:09):
I don't know.

Amy (03:10):
She wrote an episode last season, so maybe we'll find out
more information and be able togive that as we go along.

Garry (03:17):
Yeah, also so time to drop the synopsis.

Amy (03:20):
Let's drop it.
Drop it like it's hot.
Yes, okay, synopsis, let's dropit.
Drop it like it's hot.
Yes, okay, amanda, nancy andGus try to mend fences following
their Ultimate Kitchen Clash.
Episodes airing and May enlistsSabrina's help with wedding
planning.

Garry (03:35):
Yes, she does.
And don't forget, we're goingto give away spoilers, so let's
go ahead and stop the podcastnow.
Go watch it.
It.
Come back, tell us what youthought, right all right?

Amy (03:48):
well, we'll definitely give away some spoilers yes 100
percent so if you don't want tohear the spoilers.
Like you said, pause, go watch, come back and pause listen yes,
there we go, just like that, just like that order.

Garry (04:03):
So what did you think?

Amy (04:13):
I think okay.
So at the end of last episode, kind of part of our review was
or mine anyway, I don't rememberhow you felt, but I said that.
You know, I kind of felt like Imean it was a good start, but
it wasn't like a spectacularstart.
Spectacular start Like weenjoyed it to get back in and we
kind of hoped it picked back upand the writing would be back
to where it was from season one.
Because it was so.
The banter was great, theone-liners were great,

(04:33):
everything worked, and I thinkthis episode really kicked it
into high gear.

Garry (04:37):
I think this was.

Amy (04:38):
Shauna's episode.

Garry (04:39):
Oh, my goodness, 100%.

Amy (04:40):
And we literally, and I don't remember I you know, we
laughed a lot last season duringsome lines, but we laughed out
loud during this episode a lot.

Garry (04:50):
Yes, when we watched it, we definitely did.

Amy (04:53):
I mean a lot and that was so great, you know.
So I felt like it sort of isback in this episode.
I felt like they gave us a lotis back in this episode.
I felt like they gave us a lot.
Like I said, shauna is theabsolute star of this episode,
for sure, for sure.
Her one-liners, her expressions, the things she says, the

(05:14):
things she does, you know howshe helps Gus.
I mean, there is just, you knowAmanda, she's talking to.
You know everybody, really, sergio, she ends up talking to
Dot.
And Dot yeah, I mean so, youknow everybody really sergio she
ends up talking to.
And dot yeah, I mean so she's.
And, of course, all of the mainplayers are in it also and
every and so it just I felt likethis was a great episode that

(05:34):
pushed the story along to whereit needed to be after the end of
last episode where we sawamanda in the preview kiss
sergio.
And no one knew that but herand Nancy.
And now everyone knows.

Garry (05:47):
In the town, in their small town, everybody knows it
Right, everybody knows about theCaesar salad.

Amy (05:52):
So what did you think?
Well, we're going to get tothat.

Garry (05:56):
The Caesar salad.
I too thought that this wasShauna's episode, and I'm so
glad that they brought her tothe forefront.
Yes, because she is the comedicpart of this series.

Amy (06:11):
Yes.

Garry (06:12):
And her one-liners are spot on, right on time and funny
as all get out.

Amy (06:17):
And they are plentiful in this episode, I mean so many.
I would write them all down ifI could, you know.

Garry (06:25):
Right.

Amy (06:25):
Or take a note, so the go ahead.

Garry (06:28):
I'm sorry, no, and I was just going to say also in this
episode you have a child who'sactually an adult, and you have
an adult who's actually a child,oh yeah.

Amy (06:39):
Yeah, that's true.
You kind of see that at the end.

Garry (06:41):
Yeah, I just really, really, really enjoyed this one.
This one, yeah, way, way moreit picked it up Than the first
one.
Don't you think we had the?

Amy (06:48):
first one, we kind of eased back into it.
It was good.
But I think this one's reallyreminiscent of season one.

Garry (06:54):
Yes, what we got in season one.

Amy (06:58):
It sure was.
So it starts Her life withFrank Jr, how she was sort of
tossed aside by him, and then hedoesn't view her work as
important, he doesn't care abouther drawings, he rips them down
in a room, you know.
And then she has Frankie andthat's sort of what her focus is
and she can become creativeagain and she can become more of
herself with Frankie doingthings with her.

(07:18):
So that became her focus forall these years.
And then it shows the um, thescene in the chicken sister's
restaurant where she, wherethey're watching the preview
right so that's kind of that'swhere it picks up yeah

Garry (07:33):
and then yeah, it was.
It was really cool how they didthat kind of um like a montage
montage.

Amy (07:42):
Yes, I agree, her life when she was a little child, she was
doodling the chickens.

Garry (07:47):
When she became a teenager, when she became a wife
, a mother, yeah.
I just really enjoyed thatwhole progression of that and
they did that quite frequentlylast season too, where they
would show you a glimpse intotheir life at some other point
Right.
And where it actually her lifeactually went off the rails,
right, so to speak.
Right Pun intended, yeah, punintended.

(08:10):
And we also in that scene.
She gets up because Frankie isstaring at her embarrassed, gets
up and storms out of therestaurant.

Amy (08:21):
Yeah.

Garry (08:22):
Amanda gets up, and then on her chair is the chicken
symbol, that's right that'sright.
We gotta mention it was on theback of her chair.
Is that okay?
That's pretty cool.

Amy (08:34):
Yep, yep it sure was, and so then, um, we have I don't
know where.
Where does shauna walk into?

Garry (08:42):
it was, I think, where were they, amanda's house.
It was a into.
I think it was Amanda's house,oh yeah.

Amy (08:46):
I think it was Amanda's house.
So the very first scene withShauna is she walks in with this
huge circular floralarrangement that you would see
at a funeral and she's like whatdoes she say?
Sorry, secret camera recordedyou kissing the cook.
That's what this flowerarrangement says.
It's so funny.

(09:07):
And the flower arrangement sayscondolences, and it's just.
It's so, shauna, I know wholoved it so much.

Garry (09:13):
And then she was like you saw no way out of your
miserable life, yeah.

Amy (09:18):
And then she says until Sergio with his glistening,
doesn't she say something abouthis glistening white t-shirt.

Garry (09:25):
Oh, yes.
And then she talks about herreputation.

Amy (09:28):
Yeah, yeah.

Garry (09:29):
That she's mad because she's the queen of gossip.
And she holds that party everyyear and that her reputation is
going to take a hit.

Amy (09:40):
Because she didn't know that Amanda and Sergio had
kissed.

Garry (09:44):
That was something she couldn't spread, because she was
upset, because she heard itwhen everybody else heard it.

Amy (09:51):
What was the party called from last season?
Oh, I can't remember.

Garry (09:56):
That's going to burn me.

Amy (09:57):
Yes, I can't believe we can't remember, because that was
a really good episode.

Garry (10:00):
Yes, I hope they have it again this season.

Amy (10:03):
Yeah, so then we have the railroad crossing arm.
That's stuck again.
Nancy gets stuck by it.
So this is obviously going tobe a theme throughout this
season and eventually we willfind out.

Garry (10:18):
You know what that's all about yeah, I thought that was
because she was so mad.
Nancy was stuck there and shewas like well, she's got anger
about what went down what wentdown at the preview?

Amy (10:29):
that she saw the kiss and didn't tell frank jr right and
now everybody knows that sheknew but didn't say anything.

Garry (10:36):
So frank jr and his masculinity yeah yeah, and which
they show him in the cluckery.

Amy (10:46):
His pretend masculinity, yes, his pretend and.
Christian.
I don't want to give him anycredit.

Garry (10:51):
Christian.
Mr Chicken comes in to.

Amy (10:55):
Christian.
Is that his name?
Christian?

Garry (10:57):
Yeah, oh, okay, yeah, okay, shauna calls him that.

Amy (11:00):
I just call him Mr Chicken.

Garry (11:02):
We can call him Mr Chicken.
I just call him Mr Chicken.
We can call him Mr.

Amy (11:03):
Chicken.
No, I mean, I didn't realize.
That's what I said.

Garry (11:05):
Yeah, because Shauna calls him that.

Amy (11:06):
She calls him Christian.
Oh, that's right, that's right.
And he comes in to console him, tells him to go home for the
day, because he's going to be nogood with the customers Right
because he's a wreck and he'scrying, which is really I felt
like.
But the thing is, when you lookat it now, knowing frank jr,
it's like he's crying selfishly, like I think, he just only
cares about himself.
And obviously it would beupsetting, you know, if you, if

(11:30):
you saw that your wife was, um,you know, had kissed someone
else and it was on tv, and Imean I I get it to an extent but
I can only feel so sorry forhim.

Garry (11:42):
It it has a limit because of how he is and how he's acted
right it does have a limit, like okay, you're crying, but
you know I mean yeah, well, comeon, you know, in the first,
first episode he was like well,I liked our life and she goes.

Amy (11:57):
You may have liked it, but I didn't yeah, it was good for
you, yeah, but it wasn't goodfor me, right?
So, and like I said, though, wekeep, you know, we keep
thinking maybe he's gonna change, okay, he's crying and and
maybe that's it, but it's not.
You know, we've, I've learnedmy lesson, he's not from the
first season.

Garry (12:14):
He's not gonna change so him crying.

Amy (12:17):
He's just gonna have to get over it.
I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's just the way it is
it is because you get tired ofit so.
So Gus calls Amanda, becauseAmanda's mortified and
embarrassed, she should.
You know she should be.
She did it.
It's on camera, you know, andeverybody saw.
But it was kind of cool becauseGus calls her and you know she

(12:42):
basically says she understands, and Amanda's surprised by that,
right, because Gus is like Iunderstand, I get it.
Do you need some food?
You know.

Garry (12:49):
How sweet was that.

Amy (12:50):
Yeah, yeah, it was nice, yeah, so.

Garry (12:53):
And then you have Nancy going to the mayor's office
complaining about the arm, and Ijust love how he just turned it
on her Mm-hmm.

Amy (13:02):
Mm-hmm, he basically turned it on her.

Garry (13:04):
He basically it was so funny how he did that.
I mean, you know, he tells herthat she's good at saying
nothing.

Amy (13:11):
Yeah, yeah, because he's in .
But you know, what I foundinteresting about that
interaction was he seemed toreally not like her.
Yeah, and I don't know why thatis.
I don't know if that's going tocome up like in a later episode
, but he was really, you knowfor a mayor.
You know, he's kind of likelike maybe they went to high

(13:31):
school together or something.
Maybe he was jealous becauseshe ended up with frank senior.
I mean, I don't know, but he waskind of like.
He's kind of like you get whatyou deserve, you know, and he's
the mayor of the.
He doesn't even hear hercomplaint about the because he
thinks she's focusing on thatinstead of dealing with the fact
that she yeah, yeah, exactly, but he's really kind of harsh

(13:53):
with her.
So I wonder if there's morebehind that than meets the eye.
Yeah, there probably is yeah, Ithink you're right.
Yeah, I don't know.

Garry (14:02):
And let's talk about Sabrina.
Okay, I love her, you're right.
Yeah, I don't know, but andlet's talk about sabrina.
Okay, there's another characterthat they brought forward, yes,
this season, and I just love itbecause she was forward a lot
in the last near the end of theseason, but not throughout the
season I'm so glad they broughther back, I know, because she's
another one that is realquick-witted, yes, and funny.

(14:23):
Yes, and she decides to helpMay with her wedding planning.
Mm-hmm, may, excuse me, is atrip.

Amy (14:34):
Well she's like, well May's reluctant.
Because she says when you growup you know thinking no one's
going to stay, you don't planfor what's next when they do,
because she hasn't reallyplanned her wedding.
Her wedding's like in a fewweeks and her wedding planning
book is a mess, you know, andSabrina's really surprised by
that.
And Sabrina's like a wedding,what'd she say?
A wedding is a series ofmilitary grade maneuvers.

(14:56):
You can't just wing it.
I thought that was so true.
You could not pay me enough tobe a wedding planner because the
attitudes, the people you haveto deal with, the organ, no,
thank you.

Garry (15:10):
Yeah, and it's kind of funny because the narrator says
something like unlike honey to abear's paw, a man never stuck
to a Mimi's girl.

Amy (15:19):
Oh, is that what she says?
Or stuck with a Mimi's girl.
That's why, and that's why.

Garry (15:25):
May says what she says.
Is a little reluctant, yeah, you know he's going to leave me,
and then she tells him, or sheSabrina tells May that you know
Jay loves her for all of herflaws.

Amy (15:38):
Yeah, and she was like she does.
She's like I don't have anyflaws and she goes well doesn't?
Is that when she says, that'sjust what someone Right?
Is that the part where?
No, maybe not?

Garry (15:50):
Because she says, you know, May says she does not have
any personality flaws.

Amy (15:55):
Right.

Garry (15:55):
But Sabrina's like.
Jay loves you for yourpersonality flaws.

Amy (16:00):
Right, right you are.
I thought it was kind of coolbecause Sabrina is giving her
like a pep talk, right like youknow that that he does love you.
He thinks you hung the moon, you know.
So he's not going anywhere andwe need to plan this wedding.

Garry (16:14):
Unlike lassoing the moon.

Amy (16:15):
Unlike lassoing the moon.

Garry (16:19):
And also she said girl, I built a camera tripod from
fishing rods.

Amy (16:26):
She did.

Garry (16:28):
She said I can do anything.

Amy (16:29):
She could Yep, yep, yep, she actually made a reference to
Shark Tank.
Oh, she did.

Garry (16:36):
Yeah.

Amy (16:37):
She said she should have been a judge.

Garry (16:40):
She said something about A chair, the sixth chair.

Amy (16:44):
Like she should have been on there because she could
recognize.

Garry (16:47):
Right.

Amy (16:48):
Good business and that's.
I think that's when she saidthe thing about the about the
fishing rod she made a tripodout of fishing rods.

Garry (16:57):
She was, she could make it work.

Amy (16:59):
Right, she could make a plan and make it work.
So Sabrina is going to help herwith the wedding which is
pretty cool and I kind of liketheir friendship now, because
they were rocking in the lastone because of past history and
now they're kind of together, even and despite the fact that
Sabrina did have the hiddencameras.

(17:20):
I think may, being in thebusiness, understands sabrina's
side of it, so she's not so likehateful towards her for it,
because she's like, I mean,that's television, that's
reality television.
You sign up and I didn't evenread the you know may, didn't
even read the contract, reallyfor that so there you go how
about shauna or ordering thelatte?

Garry (17:41):
Okay, so we have to get into this.

Amy (17:43):
This is probably.
There were so many good sceneswith her, with Shauna in this
episode, and I was trying tofigure out, you know, if I could
pick one, and I'm not sure Ican, but this whole scene at the
end it's the end, right the bedand breakfast, or whatever,

(18:05):
like the bed and breakfast orwhatever, and um so she goes in
to order and she orders it onelatte, half oat, half almond,
one pump vanilla, one pumpcaramel.
Barely touch the pump forcinnamon and whipped cream at
the bottom she gets real excitedat the end and I had to write
that down.
I thought it was so funny andpatrick's like I'll have it out
in three hours.

Garry (18:20):
And she's like okay.

Amy (18:24):
Oh my gosh, it was just.
It's so funny.

Garry (18:29):
Is that when?
So that's when Dot comes in.
That's when Dot comes in andsays that she wants Shauna's
autograph and Shauna's like yes,I will give you an autograph as
soon as I get my head shot.

Amy (18:38):
Because you know she's going to sell them probably.

Garry (18:40):
Oh yes, she's making money off it.
Yeah know she's going to sellthem probably.
Oh yes, she's making money offof everything.
Yeah, she's going to give herautograph away.
I love it.

Amy (18:45):
And then doesn't that say she was good in the series or
something?
Because that's when Shauna saysI would have gotten more
airtime if Sabrina hadn't givenme wrong locations, Because you
know, Sabrina.

Garry (18:58):
She kept sending me to wrong locations.
Yeah, that was awesome.

Amy (19:01):
I thought that was so funny and we didn't know that in the
last one, right, and I thoughtthat was like the perfect line,
yeah.

Garry (19:08):
And then she starts talking to Sergio and Sergio's
like.

Amy (19:12):
This is all the same scene, right.

Garry (19:14):
And he excuse me, and Sergio asks if Amanda's okay.

Amy (19:21):
Oh, yes, he did, and.

Garry (19:22):
Shauna goes, Amanda kind of stares into that middle
distance and then she's gotthose glaring eyes just staring
off in the distance.

Amy (19:32):
I thought that was so great , that was funny.
Well then she says, you knowshe's kind of upset because that
thing you did, where your faceis, where your face is Over your
face and he's like no, she said.
That thing you two did withyour face is and he's like no
she said that thing you two didwith your face.

Garry (19:47):
He's like I was there.
I was there.

Amy (19:49):
She just cracked me up, you know.
And he wants to go talk toAmanda and Shauna tells him no,
of course.
Right, oh my God, that scenewas just chef's kiss, that whole
scene with her.

Garry (20:03):
Yes, that was definitely a.

Amy (20:05):
All right, what's next?
What's next?
What do you want to talk aboutnext?

Garry (20:08):
Well, Nancy goes to see Bo the pastor, and this is when
we find out what the proposalwas.
Right, and he was actuallygoing to ask her if she would go
on a trip with him to othercountries to build homes for
people less, you know, fortunatethan others.
Fortunate right, Because shethought he was going to ask her

(20:30):
to marry him Put a ring on it,which we all knew it wasn't
going to happen.

Amy (20:32):
I mean that was a little bit of a cheesy storyline, but
you know it got him.

Garry (20:37):
And she tells him she doesn't understand why Frank Jr
is mad at her Right.
And the pastor goes and sayswell, the pastor, as a pastor,
you know you're his mother, hetrusts you.
Yeah.
And then as a friend or aboyfriend you know he is a grown
man yeah, he should be able tohandle it.

(20:57):
You did what you thought wasbest for him, yeah.

Amy (20:59):
So what you thought was best for him.
Yeah, and then you have anothergreat scene where Shauna again
she goes to the.
What is it, mr?

Garry (21:10):
Chicken's Cluckery, mr Chicken's.

Amy (21:11):
Cluckery.
I don't know why that namedoesn't stick in my head, yeah.
So she's going there to docorporate espionage.

Garry (21:19):
That was so funny.

Amy (21:21):
So she goes to try the chicken and the chicken is not
good.
It's not seasoned, it's notgood and I like.
And the narrator came back thistime with a lot of good
one-liners because we didn'thave that so much in the first
episode, but in this one she'slike when you bite into chicken
it should change your life.
But this chicken she wouldn'tserve it to her worst enemy.

(21:42):
Linda, she knows what she did.
That was so funny.
Yes it was.
She's talking about Shauna,like that's Shauna's word.
I thought that was so funny.
So she tries the chicken and itis terrible.

Garry (21:56):
And she asked Christian, what did you season it with?
And he's like Mr Chickendoesn't season his chicken, it
you season it with and he's likemr chicken doesn't season his
chicken, it's all about thesauces.

Amy (22:05):
Yeah, and she's like well then, you should have changed it
to mr sauce, you should name itoh my gosh then you have this
scene where frank jr kind ofshows up at I guess it's mimi's
do they?
Have two chicken sisterrestaurants.

Garry (22:19):
I'm confused, but it's not Mimi's anymore, it's Chicken
Sisters Nancy's working theother one.

Amy (22:25):
Franchised right, Right, so at the Mimi's Chicken Sisters
restaurant and Sergio's throwingout the trash and Frank is like
why don't you do yourself out?
I know I did not.
That scene didn't work.
I don't know if that was likean additional scene, right, I
don't know if that was like anadditional scene.
I just didn't, I didn't thinkout of the whole episode, that
scene really sort of fit.

Garry (22:45):
Yeah, and he and he was like well, you haven't seen the
last of me.

Amy (22:50):
I know and.

Garry (22:51):
Sergio is like yeah, it's a small town.

Amy (22:55):
Well, sergio does apologize in that moment and he says you
know we didn't mean to do it,we're so sorry, and you know we
didn't mean to do it.

Garry (23:01):
We're so sorry, and you know, yeah, he tries to
apologize.

Amy (23:02):
Yeah, he tries, but he admits he was wrong.
I mean, there's only so much hecan do.
You know we did it.
Sorry, I was wrong.
And you know, like I said, frank Jr rightfully upset.
It's just difficult to feelsorry for him, since he's such
an ass.

Garry (23:16):
Yeah.

Amy (23:16):
You know, Yep yep, then Shauna again goes into the
restaurant.

Garry (23:24):
Which Gus is holding the book.

Amy (23:27):
Gus is holding the book, the second episode with the book
.
What is it?
Queen of Cowboys, queen ofCowboys.

Garry (23:32):
Yes, I really enjoyed it.
What that?
The book showed up again.

Amy (23:37):
That the book showed up again.
I know I knew you were going tobe happy about that.

Garry (23:41):
Yeah, and she explains to Gus why she's like because she
was doing the espionage.

Amy (23:44):
She was doing the corporate espionage.
You know it's funny.
But Gus is like I don't wantthis trashy book, and then
Shauna's like you don't wantthis trashy book, you know.
And then she goes on thesedifferent explanations.
She's like you think a womanpretending to be her own twin
sister in order to inherit herfamily fortune is trash yeah,
you know it's just like yes andthen, then, gus was interested

(24:07):
in what the chicken tasted like.

Garry (24:09):
Oh, yeah, yeah yeah, and and this scene was so, so good
because she said the chicken waswas not even seasoned, the mac
and cheese was like chewing on amelted barbie leg I never
thought about that melted barbieleg oh my gosh.

Amy (24:29):
And then so, oh god, I just love shauna.
I mean, I can't say that enoughabout this episode, but anywho.
So then gus gets that crankcall right now this is the
caesar salad moment right of theepisode.
So in the first season you findand I kind of vaguely remember
this, I think where Gus says Idye my hair blonde.

(24:51):
If I wanted to be an actress, Iwould dye my hair blonde and
start eating a Caesar salad, andthat has gone viral now.
So people are calling therestaurant pranking Gus, like I
want a Caesar salad, you know,or whatever, and she doesn't get
it at first.

Garry (25:09):
And then Shauna kind of explains to her talks about
social media, the gram.

Amy (25:14):
The gram, as she likes to say.
Well, she talks about how she'sviral.

Garry (25:18):
Yeah, and how the Internet actually works.
Yeah, it's like a monster.
If you feed it, it's going tocome after you and eat more.
But if you give it something todiffuse it, it'll go and find
something else to Jones on.

Amy (25:34):
Well, she tells her that a little bit later, that part of
it, but she's like it's funny,it's not, and Gus doesn't
appreciate it, and that's whereyou really see old hurt?
Know old hurt doesn't go away.
Right, you know, because Gushas been made fun of she's like
do you like to be laughed at?

Garry (25:47):
And she said no, ma'am.

Amy (25:48):
No, ma'am, because.

Garry (25:52):
Shauna.

Amy (25:52):
You know, shauna thinks it's a good thing.
She's about money.
It's going to bring in business, like the comedian Kathy
Griffin.
What does she say?
You know, bad publicity is goodpublicity.

Garry (26:03):
Yes, it's publicity either way you look at it, it's
publicity.

Amy (26:07):
So Sean is kind of of that mindset.
But Gus, you know, has had ahistory of being a Mimi's girl
and being made fun of and itreally upsets her and she tears
up in that moment a little bit.
So you kind of really see thedeep-seated hurt in Gus, right.

Garry (26:22):
So I agree, yeah.
So what happens next?
Let's see.
That's when Sabrina talks aboutthe shark tank.
The next scene with Amanda.

Amy (26:34):
Oh is that?
Did we say that too soon?
But that's okay, that's allright, yeah.

Garry (26:37):
Because she also goes, because Amanda or Sabrina wants
to know what the unknown is allabout.
And she tells her it's abouther father and she's like you
know, I try to ask my mom.
She won't give me the answer,so I give up.
And she said Sabrina was likewell, why don't you just do a
DNA test?

Amy (26:56):
Oh yeah.

Garry (26:57):
And she's like no way.
And then Sabrina tells Mae shecan do a DNA test.
It's not just how we just findserial killers you know, that's
funny.
And I thought that was reallyfunny.

Amy (27:08):
A DNA test isn't just for serial killers.
You know, and that's when Maysays you know she didn't know
much about her dad and you knowthe only thing her mom said was
she said when I was a kid shetold me he taught dance lessons
in the Catskills and never putbaby in a corner.
And she's like and I got thatright away and then Sabrina's
like dirty dancing, that scenewas kind of cute.

(27:30):
Yeah, that was.
And then you find out that May,even if she could find out, she
really wants to hear it fromGus.
Right, I want Gus to tell meherself who my Diddy is.

Garry (27:42):
Right, right.
Yeah, hear it from gus, right,I want gus to tell me herself
who my ditty is right, right.
So yeah, I see the parallels.
Yeah, you know.
So then you're supposed to dothe right things.

Amy (27:49):
Before that, frank jr has gone to his house right, yeah,
and amanda apologizes to him youknow, he's he's upset and she
apologizes to him and he decideshe's not going to sign the
divorce papers.
He's going to hold the divorcepapers hostage.

Garry (28:05):
He's a man baby.

Amy (28:05):
Shock of all shocks right.

Garry (28:08):
Yes, Again, man baby.

Amy (28:09):
Yeah.

Garry (28:11):
That's why I like the actor, because the character
makes me hate him so much.

Amy (28:15):
I know, I know he's really good, he is really good.
I hope he doesn't get yelled aton the street or anything.
You know the actor, James Cott.
That's the actor.
That's the actor, so heprobably walks down the street
and gets, you know, yelled at.

Garry (28:31):
Well, I hope not.

Amy (28:32):
No, I hope not either, but he is really good at making you
just really dislike him.
Right, you know that's a goodactor right there.

Garry (28:40):
Yeah, and then we have Junior scaring Nancy outside of
the church?
Yeah, and they kind of get intoa conversation when Bo comes
out and he tells him you need totake a walk because you might
say something you might regret.

Amy (28:52):
Well, he's yelling at her.
Yeah, that's what brings Bo out.

Garry (28:54):
Yeah, he's raising his voice, yeah.

Amy (28:56):
And then he's like I thought mamas are always, you
know.
We find out that Frankie hasskipped school.
Well, we kind of know that.

Garry (29:08):
Right.

Amy (29:09):
I guess already right because she didn't get on the
bus, but we don't know where.
But Amanda gets the phone calland she has to go out in public,
and so she hasn't been outsince the airing of the episode.
So she goes out in a hoodie, ahat and sunglasses.

Garry (29:24):
It is so funny.

Amy (29:26):
She's like trying to be in disguise, but it's a small town,
you know.

Garry (29:29):
And then the narrator says something like Amanda spent
the day spending time in theshadow of a barn.
Before she went out Before shewent out, yeah.

Amy (29:38):
Yeah, that was pretty funny .

Garry (29:39):
Yeah, and she also went to the inn and asked if they'd
seen Frankie.
And no one's seen Frankie.
And as she was leaving, Doccomes in and says you know, I
really loved you on camera.

Amy (29:52):
Yeah.

Garry (29:53):
And I always thought you deserved better.

Amy (29:56):
Yeah Well, she says she saw a confident Amanda.

Garry (29:58):
Yeah, where's that girl been?

Amy (30:01):
all these years and that kind of touched Amanda a little
bit.
And then, yeah, she says shealways thought she could do
better than Frank Jr she's kindof like hmm, yeah.

Garry (30:10):
Anybody can do better than Frank Jr.
Well, and then we get.
I think, what is it?
Gus comes in dressed up.

Amy (30:21):
Oh my gosh.

Garry (30:24):
That was hilarious.
She said who was there.
Was it Shauna?
Yes, Shauna and I can't.

Amy (30:29):
Was it, shauna?

Garry (30:30):
Yes, Shauna, and I can't remember who the other person
was.

Amy (30:34):
It was Shauna and Nancy, because they were talking.
Nancy was telling.
Shauna about what happened withFrank Jr.

Garry (30:40):
Yes.

Amy (30:41):
And then you know, when she , when Nancy, tells Shauna that
you know that he said mama'salways supposed to do the right
thing, and Shauna's kind of likewell, what about a son doing
the right thing?
And I'm like, yes, shauna, yes.
Yes, that's exactly right,Shauna.

Garry (30:56):
Shauna coming in with the line.
That's why I'm team Shauna thisepisode.

Amy (30:59):
Yeah, yeah, so it was pretty good.
And then that's when Gus comesinto the room.

Garry (31:04):
Yes, that was an awesome scene too, with that colorful
dress and her hair.
All cut Her heels and.
Nancy's like whoa.
What happened to?

Amy (31:13):
you.
Well, it was more like whathappened to you.
Gus is so different.

Garry (31:19):
And Gus is like Shauna's.
What happened to me?
That was so funny.

Amy (31:22):
Oh my gosh, it was so funny .

Garry (31:25):
Yeah, because they're trying to bury the story about
the Caesar salad.

Amy (31:31):
Right, right, they're trying to make it like, attack
it in a way on a video andShauna's like it's for the Gram,
it's for the.
Gram, because she's like yeah,it's so funny.
Oh my gosh, it's so funny.
So then you, lindsay, has goneto look for Frankie.

Garry (31:51):
Right.

Amy (31:51):
Right, and she finds her in the theater and it's just
Frankie and Frankie's whisperingand Lindsay's like there's no
one else here.

Garry (31:57):
Why are you whispering?
That was funny.

Amy (32:00):
And then.
But then what's interestingabout that scene is she's like
oh, skipping school, huh, thenext thing you know you'll be
doing corporate espionage andI'm like what?

Garry (32:08):
Yeah, that's the second time they used that word.
I said that, that phrase, yeah,I said that.

Amy (32:13):
You did say that You're like what in the world?

Garry (32:15):
Yeah, why would they say that twice?

Amy (32:17):
And then the boyfriend Doug .
Yeah, he comes in.
Dudley or Doug.

Garry (32:22):
She calls him Doug.
No-transcript oh right, but shereally loves her son, so, and

(33:09):
she loves amanda and she lovesamanda, right, and that's why
she chose not to tell uh junior, because she didn't want to be
team junior.
She didn't want to be teamamanda she just wanted to be in
the middle she wanted to beswitzerland.

Amy (33:21):
you know what I mean and I love how she, you know, kind of
puts her arm around her andbecause amanda, and because
Amanda's like it's her faultthat Frankie ditched school,
that's what.
Amanda tells Nancy and, and shesays it's a mama tax,
everything is our fault, and I'mlike that's true too Right,
that is a very true statement.

Garry (33:42):
It's so funny yeah.

Amy (33:44):
But I thought what was cool in that moment was Nancy.
She still goes to Amanda, putsher arm around her and then they
decide that's when they makechicken.
They decide to make dinner foreach of them to take home.

Garry (33:55):
Right.

Amy (33:56):
Separately right, so that's part of it.
So we forgot to mention thepart about Gus making her film
with Shauna.

Garry (34:04):
With Shauna at Mimi's restaurant.

Amy (34:05):
Right, right.
So when we were talking aboutthe dress, she's all dressed up
and that's kind of what shaunawanted her to wear, but she ends
up not right she gets in morecomfortable clothes and she
walks into her restaurant andshe's like these are.
What did she say?
These are standing jeans, notsitting jeans.
So we have to hurry.

Garry (34:21):
Let's hurry this up.
Yeah, and she does, she goes.

Amy (34:25):
I'm an actress yeah, yeah, she's got like a flat affect.

Garry (34:29):
Yeah, and then they bring out the Caesar salad.
She eats it and she actuallykind of likes it.

Amy (34:34):
Right, and Shauna, I mean I guess we should say Shauna was
there with like the ring lightand was filming her and, like
you said, earlier Shauna's, likeall they need is something new,
and then they're going toforget about the other videos.
So, yeah, and then she's likehi, I'm gus moore, and now that
I'm an actress, I love caesarsalad she says it's, so it's so

(34:56):
funny, and then she actuallylikes the salad yeah go figure
right yeah, yeah, go figure andshe and sergio goes wow, that's
an actual gus uh compliment.
Yeah, like that's a legitimateheartfelt Gus compliment.
Yeah, it was cute.

Garry (35:13):
And then we pick up Lindsay.
She shows up back at, I guessit's-.

Amy (35:19):
May's, may's house.
I think they're staying withMay.
Yeah, they're staying.
Yeah, lindsay and Sabrina.

Garry (35:24):
Sabrina and May are sitting there eating I think
it's cake or something.
When Lindsay comes in and shetells her mom she wants to go
back to New York.

Amy (35:35):
She wants to go home.
Yeah, she's upset, and thenthat's when Sabrina says don't
do anything.

Garry (35:40):
You know I got to go, mom .

Amy (35:41):
Yeah, I'll be right back.
Yeah, like, don't panic.
And then we talked about howthey made the chicken.
Nancy takes it to Frank Jrapologizes to him.
And then she kind of is likedon't you have something to say
too?
And she's like you know, weboth did things that we have to

(36:02):
apologize for.
And he's like you sure did, didn't you?

Garry (36:04):
And I'm like there, he is , there, it is See, that's why I
hate him.
There, he is there, it is See,see, that's why I hate him.

Amy (36:09):
So you know he says he's not ready to forgive her and he
takes the chicken and goesinside and he's closed the door.

Garry (36:16):
He's closed the door.

Amy (36:17):
Right, I'd be like bye.

Garry (36:18):
Yeah, me too.

Amy (36:19):
Then he sits down and he enjoys the chicken.

Garry (36:21):
Yeah, you know, you can tell he's thinking of his
revenge.

Amy (36:25):
Well, and that's what the narrator says, doesn't she say
something about?

Garry (36:30):
There's a storm of brewing.

Amy (36:31):
Yeah, something like that Cloudy with a side of, or a
chance of revenge or something.

Garry (36:36):
Yeah, that was so good.
And then you have Amandashowing up.
Or her house Going intoFrankie's room to give her, you
know, to talk to her about itand tell her here I got some
food.
Yeah, she's got the chain tooPretty much Frankie's pissed off
because her mom didn't tell heror talk to her about it.

(36:58):
She knew that her and her dadwere kind of goofy together and
that wasn't the reason why shewas upset.
It was just that they didn'ttell her.

Amy (37:06):
She didn't feel like she was part of the family, because
she's like I'm part of thisfamily too, right, and she
really just wanted thatconversation.

Garry (37:13):
Yeah.

Amy (37:14):
It wasn't even so much about the kiss or the separation
, it was just.

Garry (37:18):
And then Amanda starts to tear up about well, I'm going
to be losing you.
You're going off to school.

Amy (37:26):
Yeah.

Garry (37:27):
And then that's when Frankie pulls out the book of
all her drawings.

Amy (37:33):
The album that she's kept.

Garry (37:34):
She's kept that.
Her mom made these littledoodles for her and she goes.
I'll always take these with me.

Amy (37:40):
Yeah, doesn't?
She say she's going to takethose with her to school and
Amanda kind of talks about howshe's struggling with she
doesn't know what to do now thatshe's not a wife Like she's
been a wife for 17 years andshe's and she feels alone.
And that's when you knowfrankie's kind of like you're
not alone, you have me.
You know you always be my mama, but you can be this person too,

(38:01):
who's creative and crafty andwonderful, and you have your own
separate identity from me,which I thought was really cool
and I think you mentioned whenwe watched this you had you had
one that didn't work out withthe chicken and one that did you
know well, I was just sayingshe's the child who's acting
like an adult.

Garry (38:19):
Yeah, he's an adult.

Amy (38:20):
Yeah, no, I meant after it was over right, right you were
kind of like look, one workedout one didn't.

Garry (38:26):
Yeah, I thought it was.

Amy (38:27):
But you're right, frankie is acting like the adult, he's
being childish.

Garry (38:31):
No, Frankie is acting like the adult and Frank Jr is
acting like the child.
But you're right in that moment, yeah, and then we have the
Mimi scene, the finale, right, the finale of the episode.
Episode two.

Amy (38:47):
So Gus is at Mimi's right, which you just said, duh, sorry,
it's okay, it's been a long dayand she's got her back to the
door, which I don't reallyunderstand why the door's open.

Garry (38:59):
Right.

Amy (39:00):
But you're closed, but anywho.
And then you hear this voicethat says you know, I'm looking
for the best Caesar salad inMaranac and Gus thinks it's
somebody razzing her about thiswhole Caesar salad mess right.

Garry (39:11):
Right.

Amy (39:12):
And then the narrator says you know, I want to tell you who
this radiant sunbeam is.
And so we find out it's ClaytonRidge III.
He was the star quarterback of1983.
Oh, and it's Mays Daddy.

Garry (39:24):
Mays Daddy.

Amy (39:26):
So we find out.
So he's holding a bouquet.
Of the yellow flowers, of theyellow flowers that were in the
first episode, yep which she hadpicked up in the first episode
and kind of sniffed it andsmiled.
So, it brought back, you think, good memories for her right and
then he says, hi, Gussie, withthis big old smile.
I just love that he called herGussie.

(39:47):
Yes, that was cute I hope heends up being a good guy, I mean
I don't know how it's going toend up.
I think he will be, and then hissmile is huge and he's so
handsome and she's kind ofmildly terrified that he has
shown up, even though she calledhim right.

Garry (40:01):
She gets a little smile on her face, yeah.

Amy (40:03):
Yeah.
So, we're going to see.
I mean, I think episode twodefinitely picked it up.
I'm really excited to see wherethe season goes.
I hope the level that we wereat at this episode continues
through the rest of the season.

Garry (40:18):
Me too.

Amy (40:18):
Because it was really really good.
So, out of five drumsticks, howmany do you give it?

Garry (40:24):
Definitely five.

Amy (40:25):
Definitely five for me too.

Garry (40:27):
I would give it to Shauna .

Amy (40:28):
I know this is Shauna's Now .
Granted, we love all of them, right, we love all of the
characters and everything, butthis really was her episode to
just.
I mean, oh my gosh, Do this inevery episode with her.

Garry (40:46):
At least a couple scenes.

Amy (40:47):
It doesn't have to be the whole thing.

Garry (40:55):
We forgot to mention the one-liner.
She said when gus asked herabout how the chicken tasted and
she said I'd rather put a trackdip a tractor tire in some
ranch dipping our dip dip.

Amy (41:01):
I'd rather eat tractor tire dipped in rain.
Yeah, it was funny so what doyou give this?

Garry (41:07):
huh, how many drumsticks, chicken drumstick.
Okay, five fiber.

Amy (41:09):
I didn't know, I don't know .
It's been a long day, so isthat a wrap?
That's so.
What do you give this?
Huh, how many drumsticks?
Five Chicken drumsticks.

Garry (41:12):
Okay, five Fiverr, didn't I?
I don't know, it's been a longday.
It's been a long day, so isthat a wrap, that's a wrap.
