Last week we saw God’s reply to Habakkuk’s second complaint. After giving him the answer in the second half of Habakkuk 2:4 but the righteous will live by his faith—, God goes on to pronounce five woes on the Babylonians. We called them the: 1 - Woe of Greed, 2 - Woe of Gluttony, 3 - Woe of Violence, 4 - Woe of Lust, and 5 - Woe of Idolatry
These woes weren’t pronounced against people in our day, but the precepts taught in them can equally be applied. The unrighteous will live in this manner, but the righteous will live by his faith.
Today, we will finish our sermon series in the Book of Habakkuk with what most people call: Habakkuk’s Prayer. This is his response to God’s answer in chapter 2.
