Season ONE of the Power of Singing Podcast is entitled: The Life-Transforming Power of Singing
Episode #4 is entitled: The Power of Singing to Heal
This episode features Rich McKinney, a magical pianist and composer. Rich used to be a wonderful singer before losing his voice to agent orange exposure in Vietnam. Now Rich has learned to speak with an external "voice". In this episode. Rich discusses how he grew up and how music became his life. In this very special episode, Rich shares one of two recordings of himself singing, before he lost his voice. Though the recording quality is not great, you can still hear the extraordinary performance of Rich who both sings and plays the piano. After his story and song, Rich leads the Santosha Voice Group (Heather Fetrow, Joseph Gárate, Joyce Wells, and Susan Mohini Kane) in a discussion of being self-critical or self-supportive when performing. Each panel member shares something personal and touching.
