This podcast is a hidden gem.
Well, aubrey, we don't plan onstaying hidden for long.
We're getting out health ofinformation on so many topics
regarding your health andplant-based eating.
This podcast is a hidden gem.
Well, aubrey, we don't plan onstaying hidden for long.
We're getting out there andtrying to help as many people as
(02:31):
we have, because we have bigdreams and goals.
Knowing how many of ourclients' lives, this has already
changed.
I mean, think about beinghealthcare professionals.
Like, how long did we spend, jared, as healthcare
professionals before we got intoWhole Food Plant-Based?
Jared's a physician assistantand I'm a nurse and I mean we
spent so many years helping ourclients manage disease.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
It was many years.
For you as a nurse, for me as aPA, it was 17 years.
I was a PA for 17 years beforeI learned these principles and
then got certified in lifestylemedicine, and now I'm practicing
it on a regular daily basis andlove seeing the changes.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
It's just so
incredible.
It's so incredible to be onthis side of things, helping you
to actually get real results, and natural, enjoyable way it
changes everything, becausewe're all about helping you blow
open the door of possibilitiesto what you can do in life,
because you finally feel goodand when you find the path to
get you there that you actuallylove, that never makes you feel
(03:31):
deprived, that you don't have tospend so much time doing or
figuring out, because someone'salready been there before you
and has discovered the systemthat works.
It just changes everything, andthat's what we're all about.
That's why we went intomedicine and nursing in the
first place.
Right?
We didn't want to help youmanage your disease.
We want to help you break free,to escape your health struggles
(03:55):
so you can finally feel better.
Last week, we were telling youabout discovering some
incredible wild blueberry bushesin our neighborhood, and Jared
shared one of the amazingrevelations that he got from
these bushes.
If you haven't listened to that, you need to go back and hear
it now, because it really is sogood.
You don't have to listen toeither one of these in order,
though, so if you want to finishthis one first, it's fine, but
make sure you don't forget to goback and listen to that one,
(04:17):
because it really is a great one.
But today I want Jared to shareone more revelation that he got
from the blueberry bush, whichwe both know after working with
so many people and seeing themget massive results.
This is a big key to changingthings for you and making it
stick.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Many times when I
have these revelations, it's not
just one, it's not just anisolated one.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
So much so that we
sometimes spend 30 minutes to an
hour where he's trying toexplain to me all the
revelations that he got from oneexperience.
And we're sitting on the backporch and I'm like, okay, I'm
going to have to just take abreak because I'm not following
all the revelations, but they'rereally good.
Like there's some great nuggetsin there that can actually
change your life.
(04:59):
So I want to figure them allout.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, I had to pull
out some paper and a pen and
kind of write it down so I coulddraw it out and explain a
little bit better than I was.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
He literally like I'm
holding in my hand the chart
that he drew me.
I'm not kidding, I ought totake a picture of this.
He had two different tracks forthe blueberry lessons.
It's pretty awesome actually Ifyou're married to a detailed
person who, like Jared's mom, always said if you ask him what
time it is.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
I will tell you how
to build a clock.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
It's so true.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yes, I heard that
later in life and it stung a
little bit because it's kind oftrue.
But the story is in the details.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
But God made you that
way, and so it's good to be
that way.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
So give us the
details, bring it, because we
got to hear the golden nugget, because this one was so, so good
.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
This was more like a
sapphire nugget a blueberry
sapphire nugget.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
That's good, I like
that.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Instead of a golden
nugget.
But after that, when we hadpicked the blueberries from the
high branches, the ones that wepulled down the cups still
weren't completely full and mamasaid you do not go home until
these cups are full.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Mama did say that, I
promise.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
She did, and she was
serious about it too.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Oh dead serious.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
But we all benefited
from it because we got so many.
So we were looking at theblueberry bushes and we were
trying to look for new ones.
Were there any others that werepacked full?
We didn't see any, and so westarted thinking well, what
about the bushes we thought wehad already picked, completely
completely dry?
Well, let's go back and look atthem.
Look at them from a differentangle.
(06:32):
I even got down and kind ofkneeled to look at it from below
and lo and behold, there wereall these other blueberries we
did not see because they werehidden by the leaves.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Now for total
transparency.
I think the reason we firstdiscovered them is because some
blueberries dropped out ofsomebody's bucket or hand and we
bent down to pick up what wehad dropped on the ground.
And then we look up and we'restanding up and there they are,
just loaded from underneath.
They were there all along.
Right, they were there allalong.
They didn't just happen to growin that very moment.
They had been there all along, but we just didn't see them.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
So that got me to
thinking, as these things
commonly do.
These blueberries had beenthere all along.
Now there are times when peoplewill try whole food,
plant-based, and we've had manyclients where they say they've
tried this before, didn't quitework for whatever reason, or
didn't stick, or they didn'tquite get the results that they
were wanting.
It's just so common, when we'veworked with them and provided
them with a change inperspective, that made all the
(07:36):
difference.
So in the case of theblueberries, once we had that
change in perspective, we sawall these that were there all
along ripe for the picking, andguess what?
We filled our buckets, wefilled our cups.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
So mama was happy and
so we achieved the gold it was
a happy day.
It was and it was so much funcoming home and taking those big
quart size containers that wehad from some strawberries we
had bought and we had washedthose and kept them to fill them
up later with something elseand we loaded them with the
mother load of blueberries offthese bushes.
Yeah, mama was very happy aboutthat, as was everybody else,
(08:11):
because I wasn't the only onethat ate those.
I seem to recall theydisappeared really fast.
As a matter of fact, it's timeto go back again.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
We all chowed down
and enjoyed.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
It was awesome.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
So if you're in that
position, you've tried
plant-based or you're in themiddle of trying it, but it
feels like it's not giving youquite the results.
You need that change inperspective.
With Power on Plants andAccelerator, we have the
community aspect to it.
During Accelerator and, forthose that graduate Accelerator,
we even have alumni.
(08:42):
So we're there to cheer eachother on, to give a unique and
different perspective, to sharethings that we've tried.
Sometimes you get one littlegolden nugget inside that
community and it blows a doorwide open for you.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
And it doesn't matter
how long you've been on this
path.
When you get around the rightpeople and it's your family, and
they've already been a step ortwo even further than you are.
I mean, they could be milesdown the road from where you are
or that could be a step or twoin front of you.
You're going to get ideas asyou share with each other,
things you would have neverfigured out on your own.
For example, the other day, onour most recent coaching call
(09:17):
with our clients, we weretalking and all of a sudden,
just in talking, I had anotheridea I was able to share with
them that I hadn't even thoughtof before, just because of the
community aspect.
So they're pulling out of usstuff that I hadn't even planned
to share and teach them, justbecause we're all in community
together and they're gettingthese nuggets and they're mining
this stuff out of us and ourexperience that, yeah, I have
(09:41):
things planned to say and shareand we answer all their
questions as we go, butsometimes there's not even a
question.
It's just in the discussingthat the new perspective is
gained.
That happens so many times andthen all of a sudden,
everybody's going.
I never thought about that.
I never thought about it.
Oh, I've got to try that.
And then you leave and you'reinspired and you're excited and
you have these new ideas.
(10:02):
I mean, so many times we haveour clients say this is my
family.
Like, I don't want to miss this.
I love this gathering togetherof like minds where I can come
in here and talk to somebodythat I just know, who gets me,
gets the path I'm on, gets thefood I'm eating and loves it too
, you know, and it's so much funwatching the spouses too.
There are so many times whenthe non-plant-based eating
(10:24):
spouses start eating the foodsand wanting to try them and
taste and see.
Just because they smell it,they can see what their spouse
is eating, they see the changesthey're getting and they get a
whole new perspective because ofwhat their spouse is learning,
all these new perspectives thatthey're getting.
But then what's so fun is youhave this one new perspective
and, lo and behold, it opens upsomething else.
(10:44):
So here's then what happened.
So I go okay, now we've pickedall the ones from below and in
my mind now I'm thinking whatwould happen if we look from up
high down low.
So I'm standing on my tiptoes, looking even higher up than we
did before and guess what?
More blueberries, moreblueberries.
So now, because of the newperspective we gained by
dropping a few on the ground.
Now we're looking up at it andwe see all these berries we
(11:06):
didn't know were there.
That new perspective made methink of another new perspective
.
Can you see the ripple effecthere?
What happens when you gain onenew perspective and you're in
community with each other andall of a sudden you're like, oh,
I'm going up on my tiptoes,it's on.
You're up there and you'relooking from the top down and
all of a sudden there'sexcitement.
And you're looking from the topdown and all of a sudden
there's excitement, there's joy,you have new things to try and
(11:27):
you have these simple stepsalready mapped out for you.
But it's just in that community, like Jared was saying, that
these new perspectives start toopen up, and it's one on top of
the other, on top of the other.
Each one builds upon the next.
It really is incredible howthis works, and it works this
way every time.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
And, like you said
earlier, you see the
possibilities unfold.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Absolutely 100%.
If you're ready and you'resaying, look, I need new
perspective.
I need this kind of excitementin my life.
I need to know what to do next.
I need to be around somebodywho's going to share these
incredible things with me.
