SPEAKER_01 (00:00):
Sometimes that might be the thing that is behind it.

(00:03):
And I had this going on in thepast.
No one was telling me thesethings.
I don't have UTIs anymore.
I have not had one since we wentplant-based.
Could this be the reason?
Well, yes, according toresearch, it most certainly
could.
But then Jared blew my mindbecause we have had two clients
reverse rheumatoid arthritis, among other autoimmune diseases,

(00:23):
but specifically withrheumatoid, he was sharing
something with me about thesebacteria with Hey sister.

energy to do all the things youwant to do?
Hi, we're Sheridan and EdaRoosevelt, Christ followers,

great tasting food.
We too tried exercising more, eating natural and clean foods,
but we still found ourselvesstruggling with what we thought
were changes that come with ageor bad genes.
And we weren't finding answersthe traditional route, so we dug

(01:09):
into the research and createdour secret nutritional weapon,
sustainable plant-based living.
The truth is you can eat morewhole plant foods, and it's not
hard.
You just need the way that'srealistic and delicious so you
never feel deprived.
If you're ready to enjoy yourmeals, no longer be held back by
your health struggles andactively live your life, then

(01:31):
you're in the right place.
So grab your favoriteplant-based cup of happy, pop in
those earbuds, and let's getstarted.
Well, hello, Sunshine.
We have had the most incredible, energizing morning because we
were invited to be guest byHeather Bedard on her podcast
called Holistic HealthStrategies for Moms.

(01:52):
We had so much fun.
You know what it's like when youjust meet somebody and you feel
like you've been family withthem forever?
We just loved going on andsharing all these amazing things
about how do you use whole plantfoods to heal?
We know these are the foods toheal, but how do you eat them in
the way that makes you feelincredible so that you can do it

(02:12):
for life and in the way that ittastes really good, right?
We talked about so manyincredible things.
So, what I want you to know isthis episode is coming out.
And when it does, we're gonnalet you know when it's live
because you do not want to missthe value that we gave.
We shared so many amazing tipsand strategies and just drew a
lot of things together that weshare with you here.

(02:34):
But it's just fun to hear it alltogether in the way that it came
out today with her asking thequestions.
And we're gonna let you know assoon as it's on the air.
Go to our website atpoweronplants.com and at the
very bottom, you can subscribeto our newsletter, and there
we'll be sending out all thedetails when this episode goes
live.
This is so exciting.

(02:56):
We love guesting on shows andbeing able to share these things
so that more and more people canbe set free and just understand
that powering your body well isactually an option that we know
works.
This morning when we weretalking, we came up with this
incredible thing where we weretalking about how I think I blew
your mind actually.
Oh, you totally blew my mind.

(03:17):
Which thing are you talkingabout?

SPEAKER_00 (03:18):
With the chicken.

SPEAKER_01 (03:20):
Oh, yeah, we're gonna talk about that on this.
Oh, is this something different?
Yeah, but just the idea of thefact that when you come to the
place where reliable researchand what you find in the Bible
meet where they intersect, that's where you have gold.
So I want you to always rememberthat.
When you come to the place wherereliable research meets the

(03:40):
Bible, your gold because youknow that you know that you know
that these are the things thatwork.
And this is exactly what happenswith whole food plant-based
living.

SPEAKER_00 (03:49):
I think that was a Holy Spirit moment this morning
because there are times we saythings that are we're just in
the middle of a conversation andsomething pops into our mind and
we say it, and then we think, wow, did I just say that?
Oh, it's a mess.
Where reliable research meetsthe Bible, where it meets
scripture, and when they agree, which Bible is truth, that's our
standard.
But when you have reliableresearch that now supports that,

(04:11):
yes, like you said, that isgold.

SPEAKER_01 (04:14):
It's no-brainer gold.
I'll add that it is no-brainergold.
So that is where you want to bewhen you're looking for the way
to feel your best, heal yourbody naturally so you can take
your life and business nextlevel, find the gold.
And this way of living really isgold.
I mean, this is what we weretalking about with her on the
podcast.
And she was just super excitedabout the things we were sharing

(04:34):
because I think many of themwere new to her.
She's plant-based, but she'sgoing to eat more and more
plants and find the way to makethat work with her business in
life.
But this is what we see time andagain as you adopt these things.
This system works.
It's the framework that works.
So every time we take someone bythe hand and we walk them into
and through this framework, whatwe see on the other end is

(04:58):
results when they actuallyimplement it and do the steps
and walk it out in the way thatthey enjoy, that's simple, that
works with their life.
All of a sudden they're going, Icannot believe this.
Why did someone not tell me thisbefore?
I could be rid of all thesethings naturally and with food
that I actually like that makesme feel good.
It really is shocking.
And it should make us think, whydid nobody tell me this?

SPEAKER_00 (05:20):
Because they didn't know.
And that's why we're heresharing that.
But that's why our system works.
It's a formula.
Because when you put the numbersin, you're going to get the
right answer out.
You do the work, you follow thesteps, you will get results.

SPEAKER_01 (05:34):
It's exactly like what one of our clients said to
us, Christy.
She said, This is the bestdecision I've made for my
health.
Repairing and healing my bodywere things I come to believe
were just out of my reach.
But this has been the catalystfor change, success, health, and
the vitality I needed.
I was an on-again, off-again,whole food plant-based girl who
has struggled to make this stickfor a number of years, despite

(05:58):
my desire to be successful.
But since joining Jared andAnita, I've happily stayed
consistent.
I have less edema, I've lostweight naturally, and I've kept
it off.
And my headaches have gone away.
I've been able to accomplish allthese things without feeling
deprived or tracking anything, all while enjoying delicious
meals I love.

(06:19):
I cannot be grateful enough foryou and Jared and this amazing
community you have created forus.
And that's the thing.
That's what we talked abouttoday with Heather.
You know, the environment is soimportant.
It's one of the five steps ofour framework.

SPEAKER_00 (06:32):
It's critical.
That's why it's one of the fivesteps of our framework.

SPEAKER_01 (06:36):
And you have to be surrounded by the community
that's going to lift you up,build you up, give you ideas and
inspiration, the place where youcan get your questions answered.
And I'll add a place where youcan actually search
350-something plus episodes ofagain pure gold and get the
answers that you need for free.

(06:58):
That right there is a straightup no-brainer.
And you can do that in ourcommunity at poweronplants.com
forward slash pie.
Once you join, you haveimmediate access to be able to
search the content.
But not only that, you get thefree beginner's guide that's in
there.
It has some of my recipes thatyou can try out.
And it's such a great place tomeet like-minded people.

(07:20):
Sometimes on this journey, youfeel like I'm on this journey
alone.
And so we see time and again ourclients come in and they become
a part of this family.
And once you find your family, you just feel like you're home.
And it makes all the differencewhen you have that support and
someone who actually understandswhat you're doing, why you're
doing it, and how delicious andgreat and easy it is.

(07:44):
It just becomes this place thatyou want to hang out and be.
And it's life-giving.
So there was another thing wewere talking about with Heather
today.
And I wanted to dive deeper intoit here.
It's this idea that Jared sharedwith me this morning.
I was just sitting hereliterally with my mouth on the
ground because I was sharingsomething that maybe you haven't
heard before.
Odds are you probably haven't.

(08:04):
And it's about chicken becausewe come into this way of eating.
And so a lot of you are like uswhere you're trying to eat the
better meats.
Like we were eating cage free, free range, no hormone-added
things.
And I was standing looking atsandwich meat.
I remember just for a longperiod of time standing there
looking, reading theingredients, coming over the

(08:25):
label, trying to find one thatdidn't have any nitrates or
nitrites added because I knewthat wasn't good for me.
All the while, no one wastelling me that sandwich meat or
processed meats in general arelabeled group one carcinogens.
What does that mean, accordingto the World Health
Organization?
Well, Jared and I got on theirwebsite this morning to see
exactly how they word it so thatwe didn't mess up the verbiage

(08:47):
on it because we don't want tomislead anybody.
And you know what they have onthere?
These foods are known to causecancer, but very few people are
talking about this.
Why is that?
Well, there are a lot ofreasons, but the thing is, you
need to be in the place whereyou're gonna hear these things
on the regular so that you canchange the trajectory of your
life, your family's life.

(09:07):
This is about generationallegacy.
That's another thing you talkedabout this morning, generational
legacy that you're gonna leave.

SPEAKER_00 (09:13):
We've heard the term generational wealth in the past,
but I was saying by learningthese strategies, learning this
way of living, passing it on toyour children, you're creating
generational health because itwill not be just your children,
but they will teach it to yourgrandchildren, and then it will
go on and on.
The chronic diseases do not haveto stay in your family lineage.
No.
We think, well, this is justgenetic.

(09:35):
I've got the genetic kind.
Well, you also share healthhabits within your family.
So guess what?
Let's make health genetic.
Why don't we say, oh yeah, Idon't have any diseases?
Well, my parents, good genes, good health.

SPEAKER_01 (09:50):
Let's make health genetic.
I love that.
Optimal health.

SPEAKER_00 (09:54):
Yes, we always talk about diseases being genetic.
Well, how about let's makeoptimal health genetics?
I'm healthy.
I'm 80 years old.
I still have my hair.
My hair still looks the samecolor as it did when I was 20.
I'm still vibrant, I'm stillfull of energy.
That should be the norm.
That should be our regular.

SPEAKER_01 (10:11):
Absolutely.
So no one was telling me thisabout the processed meats.
So then you think, okay, well,I'm gonna try to get healthier
and I won't eat processed meats.
I'm just gonna eat free-rangebeef.
And it's gonna be organic, andI'm gonna buy it straight from
my farmer and put it in myfreezer, and that's how we're
gonna eat our meat.
Well, this is how we were eatingwhen we were our sickest.
This is when I hit a wall withmy health, when we were both

(10:32):
having vascular issues, when wewere 75 pounds overweight, and
the list of symptoms goes on andon.
And no one telling us that theseare group 2A carcinogens, which
means they are probable cancercausers.
So you hear things like that, and then you go, okay, well,
that's all right because I gaveup bread meat a long time ago.
I don't eat that.
I'm eating chicken.
Chicken's so much better.

SPEAKER_00 (10:52):
Well, chicken's really not a whole lot different
than beef when you're looking atthings like cholesterol
saturated fats.
Actually, they're identical.
So this whole myth of, well,it's white meat, it's still
meat, it's still animal flesh, and it's still going to have
cholesterol, arachidonic acid, which we've touched on
previously for inflammation, still gonna have things like
hormones and just all the thingsthat are detrimental to our

(11:13):
health.

SPEAKER_01 (11:14):
And zero fiber and all the phytonutrients that we
want to get in the whole plantfoods, none of those are found
in animal products.
But there are then the thingsthat we don't know about
chicken.
Like when I handle it, when Ijust touch it, there are the
certain bacteria that aregetting on my skin and then into
my body that are now linked byreliable research to urinary

(11:37):
tract infections, UTIs.
If you have recurrent UTIs,sometimes that might be the
thing that is behind it.
And I had this going on in thepast, no one was telling me
these things.
I don't have UTIs anymore.
I have not had one since we wentplant-based.
Could this be the reason?
Well, yes, according toresearch, it most certainly
could.
But then Jared blew my mindbecause we have had two clients

(12:01):
reverse rheumatoid arthritis, among other autoimmune diseases,
but specifically withrheumatoid, he was sharing
something with me about thesebacteria with the chickens and
the UTIs.
Tell them what you told them.

SPEAKER_00 (12:13):
Yeah, I was blowing her mind.
So whenever they look atrheumatoid arthritis or have in
the past, they were researchingit and they noticed women are
four times more likely to getrheumatoid arthritis than men.
So they were trying to findassociations, patterns, and they
looked at, well, what else dowomen have more frequently than
men?
They have urinary tractinfections around the same
ratio, four to one.

(12:33):
As they dug deeper, they lookedat what kind of bacteria are
involved with urinary tractinfections.
One of the common ones isProteus mirabilis.
As they look deeper into Proteusmirabolis, they notice that
there is a molecule within thebacteria that looks very similar
to a molecule that we have inour cartilage.
The term for that is molecularmimicry.
Now, sometimes that's done onpurpose from an organism,

(12:57):
sometimes it just happens, butthey look very, very similar.
So when you have a response tothe proteus mirabolis, where
your body generates an antibodyagainst that specific protein,
you get a cross-reaction wherethat antibody gets quote unquote
confused.
It sees a molecule that looksvery similar to something for
which it was created.

(13:17):
Now it puts up the red flag andsays, hey guys, we got something
over here that should not be.
Let's start attacking it.
So what ends up happening isyour body is attacking your
cartilage.
You get inflammation, you getdegradation of the cartilage,
you then get rheumatoidarthritis.

SPEAKER_01 (13:33):
So your body's been exposed to the bacteria from the
chicken.
It's made antibodies against thebacteria from the chicken.
And now, because there is asimilarity in a protein that's
in the bacteria that's on thechicken, there's a similarity in
your cartilage.
So that antibody startsattacking your cartilage.

SPEAKER_00 (13:53):
Correct.
Well, the antibody attaches toit, and then your immune system
is now activated.
Right.
This is a foreign invader.

SPEAKER_01 (13:59):
Yeah, that's awful.
I mean, that's justunbelievable.
It's shocking.
And these are the things we wantto know.
I'm just so glad you brought itup because I think it's
something important that we allneed to know.

SPEAKER_00 (14:09):
It's a very important but yet hidden
association.
How many times a week are weeating chicken?
And if you were one of thoseindividuals Well us, we're not
eating.
Well, us no.
No.
But I'm talking about society asa whole.
So if you're one of those whereyou did create an antibody
against that molecule that lookslike what's in our cartilage, if
you're eating chicken severaltimes a week, especially if

(14:30):
you're handling raw chicken,which I'm gonna touch on a
moment, but if you're handlingthat, you're getting exposed to
that bacteria and it'sconstantly keeping that whole
response flared up.
Now you may say, but I cook mychicken completely.
Surely I'm safe.
I don't have any issues, right?

SPEAKER_01 (14:43):
And I use soap.

SPEAKER_00 (14:45):
That disinfect your environment.
But if you're touching thechicken with your hands, you're
getting exposed.
You're likely not bleaching yourhands, but even if you did,
there's still going to be someof that that remains that you
get exposed to and that willcolonize your body to some
degree.
It does not completely eliminateyour risk and exposure just

(15:05):
because you're disinfecting yourenvironment.
If you're touching it, you'regetting exposed.

SPEAKER_01 (15:08):
And I want to add, be careful what you're
disinfecting your environmentwith.
And we don't even recommendantibacterial soap.
We don't use antibacterial soapbecause it kills your good
bacteria as well.
So that's not always somethingyou want to be using anyway.
But regardless, the bacteriajust seem to find their way into
our bodies.
That's the whole point here.
So again, we're not telling youthese things for you to be

(15:30):
afraid.
This isn't a fear chickenepisode.
You just need to be aware of whyyou might still be having some
struggles.
And the more truth that you hearof what research is showing,
that's reliable research, andthen you can understand.
But our bodies were made tothrive on these things, the five
power foods, the whole plantfoods.
Then you can see how your bodycould start to come alive

(15:53):
naturally.
You could start to feel betterand get out there and live your
God-given dreams when you canlearn how to do that in the way
that works with your schedule.

SPEAKER_00 (16:01):
What we're telling you is do not follow the advice
of black and white cows sittingup on billboards on the side of
the interstate.
Don't eat more chicken.
Eat no chicken.

SPEAKER_01 (16:11):
That's such a good point.
Yeah, those were probably notthe best sources for your
nutritional information.
