Prescribing Possibility Podcast Episode 6- The Heart of Healthcare: Evolving Roles and Realities just went LIVE!Join me for an insightful conversation with Dr. Carmen Kavali, MD, Carmen Kavali as we talk about Physicians for Patient Protection (PPP), an organization formed by female physicians on a Facebook group to address patient harm and advocate for physician-led care.
PPP Physicians for Patient Protection, a 501(c)(3) organization, focuses on ensuring physician-led care and promoting transparency in healthcare credentials. We discuss the rise of non-physician providers, the impact of private equity on healthcare, and the importance of maintaining physician autonomy. We also highlight Georgia's truth-in-advertising law for healthcare credentials.
I feel this must be said: THIS IS NO WAY TO BE TAKEN AS A SLIGHT TO MY MANY DEAR FRIENDS who are Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Midwives, etc. The clinicians I have had the extraordinary privilege of working with from residency through my OB Hospitalist work, have been excellent clinicians, teachers, and colleagues. This episode looks at transparency in medicine, the economic drivers at play, and the need for healthcare TEAMS.
It is an eye-opening conversation and one I learned so much from.
Have a listen. Be informed.
