Acne is nothing new, and neither are rude advertisements that try to convince pimple-faced people to buy products for a clearer complexion. We rifled through these ads from the turn of the century until the sixties to 1) make fun of old-timey acne "cures" and 2) understand the historical tapestry of how companies marketed these products over time by promoting Eurocentric ideals of beauty and preying on the very natural human desire to be loved.
