#27 Harry Soza: Building CAREMINDr and the Future of Everyday Health

Harry Soza traces a three-decade arc of health-tech innovation—from pre-internet pharmacy transactions to AI-assisted, patient-reported data that keeps people healthy between visits. He founded Preferred Solutions in the 1980s, adapting credit-card authorization technology to enable the first real-time formulary checks at the pharmacy counter and showing that simple peer comparisons could shift physician prescribing within weeks. He then built Resolution Health, which stitched together messy claims, pharmacy, and provider identifiers to surface “care gaps,” sending insurer-backed member reports that improved doctor–patient conversations and even exposed miscoding and fraud.

Today, as CEO of CAREMINDr, Soza describes how smartphones, low-cost sensors, and modern analytics form a continuous “healthcare umbilical cord” for long-duration conditions like hypertension. Brief, condition-specific check-ins plus biometrics create a longitudinal picture that AI scans for trends and risk signals, enabling timely course corrections without overloading clinicians. Throughout, he argues that guidance beats information overload for patients and highlights the system’s shift toward value-based care that rewards keeping people well. His thesis is clear: the convergence of three health technologies now makes proactive, scalable chronic-care management achievable—improving quality of life for patients, preserving productivity for employers, and reducing costly interventions for payers.
