Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is a prime time with Sean Mooney production time.
And he's not a bad guy.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
He's not a good guy. He is the guy. Welcome
to the History of Roman Reigns podcast right here on
the Wrestling History Channel. I'm seeing she's Lisa, put up
your ones because we're celebrating the travel chief here on
this show. Lisa, how you doing today.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
I'm so excited.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
I I love that you sent me notes and I'm
going through the notes for the show and I'm like,
I don't need notes, Like.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
I remember all of this gets happens. I'm ready to
talk about it.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
That's the scariest part about this. When I started, you know,
compiling these notes for all these episodes, Yeah, some of them,
Like wow, it jumps out at me like it was
just yesterday. And then you forget all about the bloodline
and you feel about that whole run. It's crazy to think.
But we will get to that. But today we're talking
about SummerSlam twenty fifteen to SummerSlam twenty sixteen, the Roman
Rains ride that year. Now, on our last episode, we

(01:09):
did end on Summer Slam twenty fifteen where it was
Dean Ambros and Roman Rains. The Buds getting the beers
beaten Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. But the very next
night after that Summer Slam, Braunz Stroman makes his WWE dabut.
Now secretly he was a rosebud a couple of times
where Adam Rose and nxt. But it's so crazy to

(01:29):
think that Roman Rains and Bronze Truman will be attached
to the hip in a few years, always having amazing matches.
At least in my opinion.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
One of the best feuds too, isn't a romance pre Tribal.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Chief is one of Roman's best fields as well.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, and it's insane to think that braun Struman here
does not look like the Bronz Strouman years later, where
he's all muscle and he's has shaved head. What did
you think of braun Stroman? Because you know, I I
own a bron Struman hoodie.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Oh no, no, I know that would eventually be brought
back off into my life by you at some point.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah I did.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
I wasn't a big fan like bron didn't look the
way that he does. Know if people just don't understand that,
because yeah she will.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
He was chunky, he moved slow. However, at this time he.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Looked intimidating in the Wye family, I'll give him that.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
It was sad though, because you have now Bray Wyatt,
you have Eric Roe excuse me, Luke Harper and Bron
Truman know Eric Rohan because he's off doing his own
thing where he is supposed to be a good guy.
Then he's super good at math. Then he has a spider,
a lot of weird, weird stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
We we don't need to get into that, all.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Right, Yeah, that's true, that's true. The next pay per view, though,
is not of Champions twenty fifteen. The Wyatt family, the
new members taking on Raines Denimbers and a mystery partner
and it turns out to be Chris Jericho.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Well, no, first it was a fan that jumped into
the ring.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Remember I'll never forget get this because I thought that
Bray had the best reaction to it while it was
chaotic and security is trying to get this fan.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Off the ring.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
But you can see Bray White going this is your guy,
just pointing at the fan and laughing that woman lives
run from my head because I'm like, Bray, you freaking throll.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, they didn't nervous for a second too. I remember
that they were standing there and the guy.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
The guy was dressed like chill gear. He was like, oh, lady,
he really was read a little bit her partner.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
But no, it was indeed Chris Jericho. But Bray, why
are going look it up? If you guys are listening
to this and you never saw that moment, just look
it up. It's gotta be roaming somewhere on YouTube because
Bray going does your guy and laughing.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Just pop me so hard in social chaotic situation.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
It was so weird too, because Chris Jerco wasn't around
for a little while too, so where he returned and
we're like, oh, to return, Oh it's christ Jeriko, but
he's in a three on three match. Does he have
beef with the Y family?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
You? As we get into this, you'll see that Roman
and the Shield Boys one set left got paired with
some odd choices.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I wonder why, though, like why Chris Jerk everybody wanted
to be That's really why.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yes, that's my theory. I'm sticking to it.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
It was bizarre. It was so bizarre. But we are
in the midst of one of my favorite storylines around
this time, it's anyone but you Roman, Oh my god, yes,
and Bray why and has this great storyline. He even
has a whole room dedicated to anyone but Roman, a
bunch of Rooman Reigns pictures the eyes, Yes, anyone but
you Roman gets in the room and who he's frightening.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Now.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
This is definitely the creative team, like trolling the internet
with anyone but you, because that's how the fans felt online,
like anyone and anyone. We'll take anybody fandango right now
than Roman Reigns. Is it weird that when you hear
Triple H always saying, oh, we don't listen to fans. No,
we do listen to fans. No we don't, but we do.
This is clearly listening to fans, giving them a storyline

(05:03):
based off how they feel about him.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
They have always listened to the fans, they always have.
They just don't want.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
They're never gonna come out and straight up admit it,
even though sometimes he does. Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
It's kind of weird the way that he goes back
and forth with whether they listen or not.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
But when you wipe some of the booking decisions that
they make, it's kind of clear that they do sometimes
bend the knee for whatever's going on online, or they'll
throw you because anyone but you. Roman was definitely a
trolling but nobody's gonna be able to pull that off
better than Brain.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
He did the creepy Roman room. It was creepier than
my Roman room.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Do yours have eyes?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Though? Yeah? Oh my Romans have eyes?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Try to make sure, oh the lips removed.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Okay, did a terrible job of selling being scared. It
was literally how you said it.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Purchase of messing my eyes.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
It's so weird to deal with the bray White character
because he was never really supernatural.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
He was never really spooky, but he was.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
So it was I always felt like when you.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Put it with an opponent like Roman or there was
other people that just could not They didn't know how
to sell the fact that they didn't know what the
heck was going on. But bray Wyatt enrollment is probably also,
if not my favorite Robot Rings story pre Tribal, she
is probably my favorite. Well.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
This is also the time where for three months straight
wrestlers would fight each other. They'd have like a pay
per view match where you know, Bray White wins, the
next one is Rumen wins, and the next one is
the next and then it's one of us wins, usually
the good guy. We move on to somebody else. That's
a lot of things that are happening in the w
right now, and that kind.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Of made the field started.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
At Summer Swam, you knew we were gonna get some
random Helena cells. I would love to sit down and
talk about this random Helena Cell matches, and we have
when Helena Sel was a pay per view, because there
was so many matches that did not need to be
inside the Cellan Brian Roman did need to be inside
the cell.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
The point that they got to that well.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
I also sometimes I can't stand when like w forgets
about history. Like just a little while ago, the Wyatt
family in the Shield had this amazing moment in the
ring and they had those triple threat matches and limits
and Chamber. I wonder why they never bring up things
like that. Maybe they're trying to ignore. They were like, well,
I want you to forget about Bray having this, or
or Roman having Seth and Dean with him. It always

(07:25):
felt like e racing history. Wrestling fans are the people
who remember everything. My wife is like, what did I
ask you this morning? Like I have no idea, and
she'd be like, tell me who won every Wrestlmingia main event,
Like okay, let me start here. Like I that's the
problem I think with w they want us to forget. Yeah,
we never going to this.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Day and we'll get to that later.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
But when Roman makes his comeback and the Summerset twenty
twenty one, he takes the universal title, it was the
fiend who was holding it at the time, or you know,
he was fighting Bronze Troman.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
And they never brought back that story. They never brought
back the Bray and.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Roman had like see history, you know, they just went
like the fee in a room and then of course
the tribal she was born from there.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
So I didn't want to go into details, but I was.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Like this, this is this goes way deeper than Roman
came back and he's a badass now you know that's true.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Helma Slo twenty fifteen. Roman Raines does defeat Bray Wyatt.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Oh my dad, it's such a good match. It's such
a good match. I do go back and revisit this match.
It was it was, it was awesome. I really really
enjoyed it.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
No again, Bray Why and Roman raines again? If you
haven't watched these storylines anyone, but Roman storyline was a
great indication that, wow, if we do voice our opinions
online or podcasts or make videos that the WW is
watching you, they are acknowledging you and thinking, well, they
like Roman, but they don't like Roman. Like, let's give

(08:44):
them a storyline they can grab onto where willout cheer
in a way for Bray Wyatt because he is representing
how some people online felt, especially in twenty fifteen. So
I think it's a really indication, good indication. They're like, oh,
if you complain them enough, they do listen to you.
It will give you what you want.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
But they'll listen to you on this one because obviously
it was two of my favorites, so I was obviously
rooting for Roman.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
The answer is always Roman.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
People are always asking me like, who would you pick
it fromland is this? The answer is always gonna be Roman.
But in this case, and you know Bray was up
there too, so I was.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
It was. It was fun to watch, it was enjoyable.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
In the Helena so much is one that I go
back and watch here and there.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah, next night though, Roman rains wins a four weight
to become the new number one contender for the World
Heavyweight Championship. So where we are finally gonna get that
Roman reign? Seth Rollins match?

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Are we thought? So? You thought?

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Because out of nowhere on Twitter, I remember seeing the video.
It's Seth Rowlinds is injured. He has to vacate the
World Championship. He was in a match with Cain and
he's on the top rope and he flips over Cain
to do just like a power bomb, when his leg
just completely folds and he's out hit with a knee injury.
This is the beginning of Seth Rowlins being injured.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
There's a fiction sort of set looking down like sitting
in the ring and free for there. He finished the
match like the legend that he is. But I remember
seeing it at a very odd time too, because they
were overseas. I remember this coming across my timeline and
we were a lot that I don't see.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
It was a lot.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Smaller than this is one of those injuries. I feel
like you remember that moment where we were like, oh
my god, especially especially because we were looking forward to
the set Roman match. In a way, I'm not glad
that anything happened, but I'm happy that it didn't happen then,
you know what I mean, because it ended up paying
off better. Well we'll get into that, but yeah, I

(10:37):
remember the set Rowland's injury, Like, I know, it's been
ten years, which is crazy, and we're dealing with that
on current day, but it was.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
It was one of those moments that.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Everybody like started dming e shoulder, like, oh my god,
did you see this?

Speaker 1 (10:48):
What's gonna happen?

Speaker 3 (10:49):
You know.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
We compared it to the video of sid Justice when
he jumped off the second rope and WCW and his
legs folds behind him like this. Yeah, when Rowlinds goes down,
it's not a oh he lands softly and he hurt.
You see his entire ankle go sideways on his body and.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
He's speaking of King, who's like twice the second this
is him.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
I landed there like he went like that the wrong
way I saw.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Appreciate the visuals.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, well you have to. Next time, I'll have more
car I'll have pictures, we'll have that video.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I just remember that video and I remember like I
I remember feeling her broken for set because Seth was
killing it. This isn't a set Round's podcast. If you
ever want to make one, I will gladly co host
that with you, because that's another career I can talk
about for days.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
But Seth was killing it. Seth was doing a great job.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
And as of right now, I say we start one
of those charge the or petitions that we just don't
since set overseas.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Anyone, thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
I love it. Every time he goes overseas he seems
to be injured or that's true. Uh yeah, Honestly, Seth
Rounds has done so much. But for me, this is
the Seth Rowlands I love the most, not the Messiah
or the visionary or all that shit and dressing up

(12:07):
and weird outfits. Hey, I enjoyed that, But this is
the Seth Rounds. I fell in love with Seth Rownds.
When people are in twenty years, they have five pictures
of what version of Seth Rownds do you think is
the best? This to me is Seth Rownds at his best,
a slimy heel running away.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
But just his wrestling style as well when he came back.
So if you were watching those matches like that triple
threat we talked about.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
And all that.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Every once in a while he's still boast out this movie,
which is kind of cool now because he only does
it on special or matches that are super important.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
But back then, Seth was doing.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Some amazing things in the ring just to do them,
you know, just because he was that good. And you
can see how much he suggested his wrestling style from
these days to now. But this is when you start
seeing a little bit of a change on his wrestling style.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Yeah. Man, it was such a sad day because it
was again the authority. I didn't as we get through this.
I think the first episode was I hate the Authority.
The second episode was like they were fine, But the
third I'm like, man, what a great heel faction. That
was like, I have you keep changing because I love
Jane j Security. But I didn't like to sit there

(13:15):
and be like, Okay, I have to watch corporate Kane
wrestle a fifteen minute match on Raw against SO and so.
I wasn't feeling that. I wasn't feeling big show in
the group. I wasn't feeling these things. But I did
feel Seth rollins with Jane j Security. I thought they
were a nice group, but yeah, this.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Happening segment with Brock is something that lives in my head.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Red Free forever, Jesus throwing a damn door the fan.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
The fan still gets a free tickets to this day.
I mean, I'm not sure, but.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
That's Green Shirt guy, right, That's who it was. That's
Green Shirt. I thought, so, no, that's true. I know
someone's gonna DM me, like that's not true.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
You know, every party were just we're just kidding, guys.
We have you know, we have a dry sense of humor.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yes, sorry, sorry, So Seth Ronalds was Roman reigns soever
series probably was gonna happen. We don't get that. Instead
we get a World Championship tournament at Survivors Series. This
is also the twenty fifth anniversary of the Undertaker, So
they're trying to do a lot of stuff here and

(14:18):
doesn't all click and much.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
It doesn't all click.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
And remember that the IWC at this time was still on.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
That anyone but you Roman and a lot.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Of the i w C assumed that they were just
gonna rig the tournament and put the title Roman finally,
because that's what they wanted to do.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
I was so happy.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Oh no, see, I was. I'm gonna read off everyone
in the tournament and we'll go through it for a second.
But I was rooting, of course for Dean Ambros, and
I think and everybody was. Everybody was. That wasn't anyway
I was anyone but Roman, You're You're in the other camp.
Everyone anyone, but please give me Roman. That's where you are.

(15:00):
You're all in the not me personally, you know, it
wasn't enough. I was a Denameros guy. I'm sorry. In
twenty you were fifteen. I was a deniame Rose guy.
So here's a tournament, though rumor. Raines defeats the Big
Show in the first round. Czarro beats Seamus in the
first round, which I'm not sure if that starts the
best of seven. Albertol del Rio defeats Okay.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
No, no, it doesn't, it doesn't. It doesn't.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Later on okay, okay, okay, said albertolds Rio takes on
Star Dust, Star Dust, Cody Roose people Cody Rhodes are
oh my.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Lord, I still refer to him as Stardust.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Very good. Del Rio beat Stardust. Uh Callisto took on
Rye back, Calisto beat him. Titus O'Neil took on Kevin Owens.
Kevin Owens wins Neville defeated King, Barrett King Barrett, Dolph
Zigler defeated the miz in DNA Rose defeated Tyler Breese.
By the way, if you don't know, Tyler Breese recently

(15:59):
was called from NXC because they had an NXT show
on the WWE network and it was what underground Battleground.
Either way, it was all about Tyler Breeze getting brought
up and then his first match he loses in the
tournament for the world title.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Yeah, which, for the record, at this time, everybody that
came out from NXT had to feel with Dolf Sigler. First,
it seemed to be like the initiation, Like I know
that's not what this podcast about, but do you remember
that era where you come up and automatically get put
against Dolf Siegler for whatever reason.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yeah, there was a phase and then they were like, hey,
Tyler Breeze looks like Dolf Sigler. They should have a robbery,
they should be friends. Like oh god, no, yeah, not
a great way to start off. Tyler Breeze by putting
him in the world title tournament. I remember this argument.
I remember all the articles about this, saying, why is
Tyler Breeze in a world title tournament? He just got
brought in when you have other wrestlers on your roster
already on Ron SmackDown.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
But because they had to throw that thing together, and
they tend to do this.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
That's true too. They're like, no, no matter, haha, guy on
the cell phone.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
It was a matter of getting that guy with It
was a matter of getting to the next round. Well,
at this point, I already knew what the finals were
gonna be.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Yeah, no, ship everyone, I unfortunately did. On November sixteenth,
throw on Raw, Remarraines beat Zorro, Alberto do Rio beat Callisto,
Kevin Owens defeated Neville, and De Nambros defeated Dolph Singer.
The semifinals take place at Survivor Series twenty fifteen, where
Rema Rains defeated Alberto del Rio. He went to the
finals to take on d Nambros and my god, did

(17:33):
the crowd want d Nambros to win? Did?

Speaker 1 (17:35):
No?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
I did, Twitter, I didn't say you were you in
the crowd?

Speaker 3 (17:40):
No, But I can't I'm gonna stand my ground because everybody,
we as wrestling fans, tend to tend to think and
I do this, and I know you do it too,
tend to use the word we.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Or everybody what. It's just like, no, not everybody.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
We take our own opinion and we just how everybody
else well, because I do.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
I don't know my names all the.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Time, right, Like in my opinion, everybody should think that
Code is a crappy champion, right, but he's not.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
But it's just a thing. Not everybody. Roman did have
a fan base, okay, and we.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Were rooting for Roman and he got really emotional there
when DNA and Roman were facing each other.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
It was it was it was cute. It was cute cute.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Oh, this is also the time when the Internet decided
to start making cartoons of Roman ranged and d n
Ambros being lovers. If you remember, there's yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
There's fan fictions.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I remember back on my life streams there was some
points that I would like, find these very dark for
uh fan fictions and read them.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
I couldn't get very far.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Like in today's world. As we podcast right now, if
you listen to ten years rear Ripley and Eosky. They
give him like cute names and they you know, you
see online AI pretty much making them make out. But
in twenty fifteen he didn't have AI. So you have
to get creative. And so people use.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Tumblr and just may and they will write. They will
really write these stories out. They will get wild.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Well, I remember the cartoons. It's like them hugging each
other as anime characters and like hearts coming out of
their head.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
I might still have and I had to go dig
dig in the in my iclub because at this time,
Snapshot used to have this filter that they would throw
like this rose and then the rose petals will fall
with this like romantic song.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
And I'll never forget that. When they were hugging at
the end of the match, I threw.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
That filter and I say that I sent that to
everybody because I thought it would be funny. I might
not even post it, but you know that Twitter got
taken down, but I remember this.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
I gotta find it. I might still have to saved somewhere.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
God save us. Yeah, no, that was a big thing.
If no one knows, like this is a history shows
is a history channel, and I want you to know
not just the match results, what was happening on the internet,
and Boyd and people have a good time with your
leadship reading it.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Whether it was just to be disturbed or some people
probably enjoyed it. But that's why they made it right.
But I'm not gonna tell you. I didn't read a
couple of id I never read the whole thing though.
I could never get through the whole thing. I was like,
what is this?

Speaker 2 (20:04):
I only saw pictures. I wasn't reading the literature.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Oh, there's literature, you were well.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Raman Rains does defeat Dan Ambros in this finals, which
no one. Nobody was surprised, and that's fine. I guess
sometimes the movie in the in the end, the good
guy wins and the good guy here tryumph.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Rains very first, we're Everyway Championship when oh it lasted
five minutes and fifteen seconds.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, triple H. Congratulates Roman, Raine Rmarrains and spears Triple H,
which we at the time we did not know this
was setting up WrestleMania. But then Seamus runs down, cashes
in and beats Roman Reigns for the championship.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Oh my god, I was so mad. But it worked.
It worked.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
It didn't work on me. I was mad, but at
the end, in the long run, it ends up working.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Did it work for Shame?

Speaker 3 (20:56):
It didn't work when when when Roman finally changed much
for that title, he got a pop in Philadelphia, the
same city that bull him out of the building months
before at the Royal Rombo.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
I remember the arguments online was, well, everyone hates Seamus
in the League of Nations, so if they hate them
and if they fight Roman, then they have to cheer
Roman because you don't want to League of Nations.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Okay, it wasn't a long term solution, right. The way
that I see it is the moment that they wanted
was created Roman was shared in Philadelphia. When he finally
beats Seamus, we'll get into it. It wasn't that much
longer because he loses it immediately right But after that,
nobody wanted him a champion because we're like, yeah, we
don't have Shame as a champion. Then they realize, oh no,

(21:44):
it's the guy we didn't want to be champion to
begin with, and then defense automatically turn around. But the
moment that Roman finally gets the title of a Shamus,
he gets a POP in Philadelphia, which at that time
me watching thought would be impossible to accomplish, but they
did that.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Well, don't love me with everybody, because I don't remember
them everyone going like this is the greatest moment ever.
I just remember going, Okay, well, they did exactly what
I thought was gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
And you know what, there's also the online perception of
something and there's also.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
The reality there.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
And that was I was there.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
I was in Philly, right And there was another one
that I always talk about, and it's like when Roman
came out.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
We'll get into it later.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Number thirty at the Royal Rombulling twenty seventeen in San Antonio.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
I was there and there was a pub and the
old line community hated it, right I was. I had
the video where he came out.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
You can hear the friends hearing, but people were like,
oh no, like everybody hated Roman. We could not They
didn't have the countdown, so people at the building didn't
even realize he was number thirty.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
We didn't realize that that was.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
The last one, like a little bit ghost that we're like,
oh wait, Roman was.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
The last one. So that's the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
It's like, if you watch depends on which ice you
washed through the narrow of how this story went for
you might be completely different.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Oh yeah, well everyone has a different feeling about every wrestler.
You know, if Rumen Rains is, you wouldn't make rum
and Rain's world champion, if you weren't actually selling merchandise,
or if you were actually selling.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Nature in any situation at any point, no matter what.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
No matter what, of course, even as Joe.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
But no, you know, yeah, that's what I'm thinking right now.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
That's exactly what I'm thinking right now. No, no, but
I do think like the idea of why is Roman
Rain's always world champion or why is woman Rain's always
in my face? Well, this gotta be a reason why,
because you're not seeing all the stats of women, children,
even girl men, you know, so on and so forth,
Like there's not just a group of people who hate someone,

(23:43):
there's also a group of people who love someone. And
there's a reason why even on your television, Why is
so and so on TV? Why is this wrestler there?
Well there's something there that at the time Vince McMahon
sees that maybe we don't. And guess what he did
it with Johnson For a decade where everyone grinded their
teeth and said I hat this. Well, then we all
we all love him and respect him. Roman reigns with

(24:03):
grinned our teeth, we said, not all of us. Some
people are like, I hate this man, and then I
know are poof, suddenly we love him.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
So Callie Sally.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
Sometimes I don't know how to tell the story to
get to the vision, but I do think vispac Man
vision has been pretty accurate when it comes to this
guy's gonna be big in this business.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Yeah, it's crazy to think that he can see that,
or it's the machine also helping out. Maybe possibly, but
I think the theory even online. We're gonna bring up
his League of Nations was a group nobody loved, everyone hated,
and so they thought, again, I brought up let's have
him fight Roman, so they'll cheer Roman because we can't
figure out why people are booing him, because the boos

(24:40):
are louder than the cheers. But but there are cheers,
but grow men are the ones screaming in the booze.
So in the audience at home, you're not booing your television,
at least I hope you're not booing your television. I
have wow well, TLC is up next and Seamus retains
against Roman Reigns with help from the League of Nations.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Of course, of course the legal Nations made no sense.
I hated them.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
I was at this event in Boston, Massachusetts and TLC
twenty fifteen.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Da you had to climb faster?

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Sign I did? I have been me My friends got
the best seats in the world right across from the
hard camera. These are these weren't given. This was not
a media thing. This was a simple friends going to
hang out and watch.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
There were probably.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Oh yeah, oh super che.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Under like three grand.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Oh yeah, it was like one fifty maybe, and you're like, wow,
fifty this is so much money. Now it's no, it's not.
That's that's like what you cost for the pretzel in
the soda. But yet we sat there and held Yeah,
we held signs and said climb faster. Because anything any
ladder match, you see, people are ooh ooh, the first
time you ever climbed the ladder in your life. No,

(25:52):
you've been the match for one minute. You know you
shouldn't be hurt already. But yet we held that sign up,
but not realizing for a long time we're holding the
song I'm wrong. It said faster climb across the street.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
At one point, at what point you had to climb
upside out? I was like, these boys aren't drinking.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
That's also the night I bumped into uh mc foley's
daughter and UH and my buddies like you know that
is like nope, And I just walked and I didn't
realize that what you know I was I was in
was in the bag, folks, that was in the bag.
But the Ruman rerains after seamous winds, beats up everybody
and throws them through tables, including tribal ch who came
down again, interrupting everything they're setting up to Bach and

(26:31):
Ruman rains. But I remember being here and me my
personal thoughts. In the Karate audience, the males the guys
were like, so Roman reins loses, but he's gonna beat
everybody up to you know, like stay strong, Like oh
my god, I remember that. The audi online audience was
just like, please give us this, get gets this over with.

(26:53):
That's how I thought online felt. At least you you
loved it.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
I bet I loved it, But at this point we
had no set. Nobody wanted uh Roman. I believe it
or not. The guy gave him momentum wasting.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Yes, he was. They had to even bring back Vince McMahon,
who has been off television for a very long time,
and he returns and he's like resting Roman, like you're
a piece of shit. Everyone's online is like, no, you
we know you're the one who says he's not a
piece of shit.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
That was the episode where he got arrested. Remember when
the Brooklyn pe D came to get him.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Oh, they have a T shirt.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Yeah, I love this. I love this. This this through
dumb memory Lane is fun.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
It is fun, isn't it. Roman Rains though that night
it's supposed to be Roomeraines can get a championship match
against Shayness one more time. Button Roman also has to
put up his career. So if roman Rains loses, he
has to retire forever.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Oh my god, imagine I would have stoped.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Watching Steve Hello. Yes, folks, roumand Rains his career stayed intact.
He did win the match. He won the championship at

(28:18):
Monday Night Raw, the one I didn't go do. The
next night after TLC and uh, Vince McMahon is here
challenging Roman Rains and I and I this is not
fair Roman Rains. But anytime Vince McMahon challenges a babyface,
everyone goes back to Austin. They're like, oh, they're just
trying to recreate Steve Austin versus Vince McMahon. You know,

(28:41):
Roman's gonna be the anti authority. He does want to
listen to the authority or Vince McMahon. What are your
thoughts on that? Is it fair to Roman or any
other wrestler to constantly be anytime you fight Vince, Oh, what,
they're obviously recreating Austin.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
I ask somebody that during that era, it doesn't mean
anything to me, but I will get online and see
the comparisons and at that point, for me, then give
it to you from a different perspective doesn't make any
sense because it's like again for your generation, because you
have that nostalgia, you're going to compare.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
But there are people that have never.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Seen mister McMahon field with anybody, and mister McMahon is
a character and.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
The new generation deserves to see him. So there's some
of us that this is the first time we're.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Getting to experience mister McMahon picking on your favorite and
you get online and it's just like people are just
grapping all over and it's like, I wish that people
will see it from a different perspective where it's like, uh,
Stoke call was one of a kind and that field
happened and this is completely different and and other people
deserve to see a different dynamic.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
That's my opinion.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
On that because I went through that and people it's
never gonna be as good. I know it's not, maybe
not to you, but it's like, but it doesn't mean
that we should never see mister McMahon on TV again,
because at that time, you know, before who the stuff
came out, it was a three and he wasn't around
like he was doing the stone cold you know in
every show.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Yeah, way he will come out. It was a big deal,
and it was just for me. It's just like some
people have really not experienced mister McMahon.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
I just don't think that you should go without experiencing
you know what a jerk he is.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
That's a good point. Now, I really do enjoy that.
And you said that because, as I said before on
the show, well I'm describing what online was like. Online
was insanity towards the hate of Roman reigns. This Vinsic
Man thing. You bring it up perfectly valid point where
maybe someone has never seen Vinsic Man fight anybody else.

(30:39):
He has fought and Taker and Rock and Triple H
and you know Caine and Jericho. He's been in everyone's face.
But maybe you are not privy to that. Maybe you
have no idea that that even happened before. So now
you're seeing for the first time. It's like when someone
writes a song, they're like, man, that's that was the
best pop song ever. They're like, well, actually nineteen eighty seven.

(31:01):
You're like, well, yes, I do understand that point too,
but maybe this is the best pop song now.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
And you know, like even even the comparison that you make, right,
And I know it's gonna sound super random, but I was.
I was born and raising Puerto Rico, so I grew
up on a different culture, different music, et cetera. Right, So,
believe it or not, my first exposure to the song
Smooth Criminal was the Eliot and Foremone. It wasn't the
Michael Jackson one, right, But guess what, that's when I

(31:30):
listened to it, and that's when I found Michael Jackson
and that's when I absolutely just loved everything that he did,
watch all the videos, et cetera, et cetera.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
So that's my point is.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
That you never even understand what maybe somebody that'd never
seen it before was like, who is this, mister McMahon
went back, looked good off on the internet and learn
about the thing that you fell in love with way back.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
In the day.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Because everybody's different. Everybody's starting point where wrestling is different,
everybody's reason for falling in love with wrestling is different.
I love that you used the song comparison because when
I started this bring English music is like when I
have to go way back and start listening to things
that most people my age in the States.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
We're like, wait, this is the first time you're listening
to this.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Yes, I grew up on Spanish TV, Spanish music, Spanish wrestling,
you know. So it's a great way to compare it
that way, because that's what makes you go back and
look up certain things and figure out certain things. You know,
A lot of the older wrestling that I know now
is just because of me looking it up after watching
the wrestling that I've been watching, you know, for the
last twelve thirteen years and before.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Oh yeah, no, I agree. Like I didn't watch everything
in WW, I didn't watch everything in ECW. But years
years ago have gone on, you know, I've gone back
and probably did watch everything because I was like, oh,
let's find a torrent website and get these things before
there was a WW network and all that good stuff.
The twenty sixteen roy Rumble, though, brings back a fond

(32:51):
memory of the golden era, which I have a podcast
with Sean Mooney. We just actually talked about it. Roy
Rumble nineteen eighty two. Well, the World Championship was on
the line in the nineteen ninety two.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Roy Rumbo Roman.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
This time in twenty sixteen, they make Roman defend the
w W Championship inside the Royal Rumble as number one
is the greatest. He's in number one, so if he
gets tossed out, we're guaranteed a new world champion. And
that made this for a rumble so spectaculally. It brought
back so many memories of.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
A phenomenal Royal rumble.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Wink wink, yes that is a win. Wink, Yes, I
do enjoy this Royal Rumble, and I actually think that
this did help Ruman rains a lot because he starts
off number one. So now fans who were like, I
don't like him, they are seeing him. Oh he's gonna
work his ass off for the next hour in front
of me. So that means he's trying harder than we
thought he was trying before. As you brought up, please,

(33:46):
oh shit.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
That's what happens.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Okay, okay, Robin wanted to wait for other people got
their opportunity to trying in the rumble, so he got
beat up and he got taken back to be taken
care of.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
So that you know, aj Styles his moment.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Well no, you know, ag Styles did have his moment
because the camera man completely missed it and was on
Romans face the whole time. But the whole point that
I'm trying to make is that at some point in
the rombo, the League of Nations speed up Roman and
he gets taken out, and of course a lot of
people are thinking, oh my god, we're going to get
a new champion, But that's not necessarily what happened, because
Roman is such a brave man that he was like, no,

(34:21):
I'm not gonna stay in medical I'm gonna come back
out and try to defend my Championship after the rombo
was you know.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
An hour.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Of course, can't have him work an hour, but.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
There there isn't a view of Aga styles, which we'll
go into because that's another great few that Roman had.
And I'll never forget the camera man completely missing Aga styles,
Like we don't know the music, we don't know who's
coming out, and the camera man is there. And there
only reason why there's a big deals because you hear
the pop because the crowd in the arena. I seeing
the word phenomenon pop up on the screen. But the

(34:56):
camera man, if you were watching it, life, it's just
talk Roman race and Roman. It was like the same
as us because we don't know who's coming out. I
will give him credit. He did make that face like
who the heck is this? I don't know the music?

Speaker 1 (35:07):
But yeah, they they kind of butch a styles debut.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
I don't know can you guess who I am doing this?
He's like, squint, I'll know who it is.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
That became a meme for a long time, that face.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yeah, and then uh that was crazy how And it's
funny because there has to be like eight cameras inside
that arena.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
They posted it later on the oh yeah, screwed up.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Oh ship, we totally ruined this amazing moment.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
But they did the same thing with Edge with the
Edge comeback.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
Remember they missed the first beer he hit, which was
on AJ Styles look at that. But they they immediately
posted on YouTube like yeah, we know we messed up, guys.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Sorry that Edge thing. They were like, we need to
show more reactions to people, get more reactions. And then.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
I never back to watch this on the network.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
I wonder if they fixed it a network, But if
you're watching it, you know on.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Whatever you're using, not to watch this, I still say
the network.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
But I just remember hearing the crowd go crazy and
I was like, and then you can hear my co
co saying good at me, and I'm like, wait, now
off topic, but this is really funny. I was watching
this rob with my mom, and my mom is what
you would call a casual fan, right, And this is
one of my very first times realizing how small the
wrestling niche was at this time, because I realized it

(36:31):
was like you tous, I got up. I started screaming
in my living room. You know how I'm with my
reactions like oh crazy? But then I thownd and I
look at my mom sitting there bor going but who
is this? And I'm like, oh no, we have a
long road ahead to get for people, you know, like her,
to understand who he was. My mom was just like

(36:51):
completely unfaced, while I'm just like wanting to scream it
out the windows, like hey, yes, that's here, my mom.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
It's just like, who is that again?

Speaker 2 (37:01):
You brought it up some some people online were like yeah,
and then probably people who have no idea who he
is because he didn't watch Tena or New Japan were like,
just like Roman, who I'm gonna phose? Wow? And I

(37:22):
remember online people thinking that they did it on purpose,
like well, it's ruinated styles immediately.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
God.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
But that's the beginning of Michael Cole because he would
do it all the time. You'd hear someone's music, it's
like Batista's music. We know it's Batista's music, but you
haven't physically seen him yet, so he'd always like, could
it be?

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Is it him?

Speaker 2 (37:44):
He would say that for everyone for years because he's like, well,
if I physically don't see them, I can't say that
there's John Zena, there's Undertaker, there's Bautista. So he would
always shout that ship, and that became something in my
brain that I'll never forget, Like, isn't.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
It's like you said, he's spent down still, but the
word phenomenally flaster.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Across the freaking big screen that he can see from
his point of view.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
He's like, yes, Michael, call say it. But at least
he didn't say it, so he doesn't fully.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
Ruin it for you.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
But anyways, its goes on to get eliminated by Kevin Owens,
which I thought was genius at the time. And when
that happens, Roman is backstage because he was hurt by
the League of Nations.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Yeah, well maybe they didn't wan him to work for
a full hours, so they were like, you good that
you're protecting.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
He has surgery.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Were like two years ago.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
I still was that twice times. I feel like I
can defend him and sometimes I can tell what I'm
being ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
This was ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
The only person that got over in this rumble was
Bid Ambrose.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
Yeah, so everyone thinks it's gonna Everyone thinks Ambrose is
gonna win the word rumble. Turns out he doesn't win
the word rumble. Triple h who hasn't been active and
forever ends up showing up looking jacked like he looked thirty.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
That was a fun number, thirty. This was a fun rumble.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
This was I didn't say it wasn't a fun rumble. Yeah,
Triple H wins the match and becomes world champion in.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
Celeb and Stephanie. In the middle of the ring, he
eliminates Dan last, right or was it Roman?

Speaker 2 (39:22):
I believe it was both men.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Yeah, they were the last two.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
But I think it might have been Dean because I
remember at the point that Roman gets eliminated, the huge
pop where everybody realizes that we're gonna get a new champion.
So I do remember. I think it might have been
Dean who went out last.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Yeah, well, either way, Triple H looks amazing and yeah
he does. And that's what's crazy too. You think about, like, okay,
so everyone else is working. This is one when you
have house shows on the weekends, you have multiple shows
throughout the week, and Triple H is just gym like,
I'm gonna look so much better.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
Stephanie, who were posting those midnight workout videos, remember, oh
my god, you're right. They had like that three that
would go to their house like midnight to train them
because when do they have time? Really, like, I give
respect to all of these guys because with the travel,
especially at this time, the traveling that they were doing,
all the TV shows that they were doing, to still
find the time literally at midnight.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Well, Triple Godden here and Triple H's knew the world champion.
I loved it, and the Internet loved it because again,
anyone but Roman was still running rampant on the internet
if you don't know, so they didn't give a shit
if it was Triple H or even Vince mcmanns became
world champions. They were like anyone but anyone but Roman.
It was It was fun. I honestly got I really

(40:38):
enjoyed it because I gave us one of the best
triple threat matches of all time as well at fast Lane.
It's Roman Reigns versus brock Lesnar versus Dean Ambros.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Yeah, amazing match. Amazing match, man, I forgot about that match.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
You're absolutely right, Brooke Leslid does amazing in triple threats
because last time was Rumble with Seth and John Cena
and that was just incredible.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
The best, Like, why do you.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Think again we're going to see more and more and
more of obviously these matches, but like Brock and Roman
are also connected at the hip with dan Ambros, Like,
but no one seems to be complaining about this until
years have gone by, we're like, well, well, Brock and
Roman keep fighting. They keep fighting, like there's got to
be a combo there that pisses people off. But why
do you think people love it as well?

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Because they put on good matches. It's like, how are
you going to argue it? I mean, I would listen.
I think the WrestleMania thirty sive thirty six and wanted
the second one in Dallas probably my least favorite match
that Brock and Rom have ever put up. But outside
of that, even the New Orleans one, I feel like
the crowd.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
Ruined that match. Was like it was bloody, was messy,
you know. But I think they just put.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
On good matches, and it's like, Okay, you can only
deny people or how they're showing them down. Your trouble
when you're watching them in the ring and you're watching
them work, and they're keep putting good against no matter
who's in there with them. And this combination was just
absolutely incredible with den Ambros, on there who had all
of the love from everybody, And here I am with
Brock and Roman, who are two of my faves. They

(42:12):
always keep putting them against each other to make me
pick a side.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
I loved that.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
I think they always put on great matches, and I
think that whether you like them or not, at least
you knew you were gonna be entertained by whatever.

Speaker 1 (42:22):
They were going to do in the ring.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Yeah, Danie Rose and Brock want have a terrible WrestleMania
match that year, come terrible?

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Are you ready for UFC?

Speaker 2 (42:31):
What's all chainsaw up? They not use it? Liars? You
remember that when people were giving weapons, it.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Was one of them.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
I went to this WrestleMania in Dallas and it was
one of the matches that I was probably the most
excited about, just because the built to it you had,
like the Bill Tour was so good and it ended
up being adult and we're here to talk about Roman.
But yeah, I agree with you, that was terrible. And
then like a few months later, we find out Brock
is going back to USC and for me, in my brain,
I was like, this doesn't happen last minute? See people

(43:00):
splent ahead of time. That's probably why WrestleMania went the
way that it went. He wasn't gonna afford getting hurt
and miss out on that probably multiple million dollars paycheck
for USC.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Oh my god. Yeah, And like you know, I know
this is in a den Ambras podcast, but Roadblock is
another WW network special. They didn't call it a pay
per view, and Dan Ambros took on trouble H.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
He wanted that much to remember what was it?

Speaker 3 (43:22):
The argument that something was under the rope and it
wasn't like a clean pinash or whatever.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
I remember that people wanted the rematch free.

Speaker 3 (43:30):
Some people thought at this point, even though they're setting
something else up, especially after the Triple three, that the thing.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Was gonna get added to the main event.

Speaker 3 (43:36):
Remember that was an argument being made for that because
I think his arm was under the rope.

Speaker 1 (43:41):
So people were saying Triple H didn't win. It's what
people were arguing, yep.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
And so people thought around this time that Wrestmania thirty
two was going to be saved, saved by having Dan
Ambros inserted into the Triple H Gruman Reins match, because
just like before when Brock took on Roman WrestleMania thirty
one Seth saved the day by coming in and cashing in,
and you know, people consider that one of the greatest
moments of all time. People thought Dean was gonna be

(44:06):
that scenario here where he would get added in so
he would kind of eat the pin or also be
the guy who saves the match.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
Unfortunately, if we were covering all of ww in twenty
fifteen twenty sixteen, you will know that that Wresvania was
cursed with injuries and they had to put the.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
People that they had in these matches just to make up.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
For the people that were in there. Josina was injured,
you know, you had said Rawlins was injured. I think
like a lot of the plans went this way, which
is why we had a triple h title ring in
the middle of nowhere. I don't know that that was planned,
you know, And I don't think even if they wanted
to put Dian on there, you're taking away a big
match in the card because a lot of people.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
Are not available.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
Yeah, but I always wonder what was the plan for Seid,
for Roman and for Brock going into that WrestleMania if
nobody was injured.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Well, it's a lot because yeah, there's there's a lot
of people out, like multiplegies heading into this and.

Speaker 1 (44:59):
Sina and row and so alone. They were like such
a huge deal.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
With Sina in the twenty fifteen United States Championship runs,
et cetera, Rowlins w Championship.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
I think that WrestleMania car would have been complete.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
That's gonna be a whole show on it's own, Like
that wrestle Mania car would have been completely different, and
the injury bug didn't hit well.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Also, I think Daniel Bryan has heard it as well
around this time, so he's also out and seeing Punk
left a year and a half before that. So there's
a lot of people missing for the first time in
a long time at this WrestleMania and thirty two out Listen.
You know Roman reigns in his WrestleMania main events. I
think they get better as years go on, right, but
this one, this match went on at midnight, if I remember,

(45:36):
and Roman Triple h went for like thirty two minutes,
and it's supposed to be this classic twenty seven minutes,
eleven seconds. It's supposed to be this classic. You know,
bad guy beats up good guy and good guy works
through it and comes back and he wins the big fight.
Nobody wanted to see that at midnight on a Sunday night.
I'm sorry I didn't say nobody.

Speaker 1 (45:56):
Some people didn't I was. I wasn't. It's not that
I was over it.

Speaker 3 (46:02):
When you're in the environment when nobody wants what you
want to the point.

Speaker 1 (46:05):
That you're just like, I probably shouldn't share, you know.
I shared. I hear, but I could tell everybody around me.
It was really mad. It's a whole different. It killed
the vibe. It killed the vibe on WrestleMania. I thought
you sent roaming up.

Speaker 3 (46:18):
Immediately for failure with the badass entrance a triple guy
when Roman just comes out to his basic football here's Pirol.
That triple Asian Stephanie McMahon entrance was absolutely iconic, and
I was like, man, who's supposed to be the good
guy here, Like, I see that entrance, you want to
root for TROPOYG.

Speaker 1 (46:36):
I was like, don't do him like that.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
But TRIPLEH is known for his intricate WrestleMania entrances. It's
not about to you know, not about to say I'll
give you a basic entrance over Yeah, no.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
T is not doing that. I'm gonna put the guy over. Yeah,
if I'm gonna put the guy over, at least gonna
get the entrance.

Speaker 3 (46:54):
But I will say Stephanie mcmahgha spear and I wanted
to be herd I was like, here, we are, here,
we are I.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
Yeah, there's a lot of thoughts there. Let's let's analyze
a couple of them. One of them is definitely you
wanting to be Stephanie. No, Stephanie McMahon was someone who
was untouchable for a long time. Her slapping and getting
fights with aj Lee never set up an aj Lee match.
Her getting in the face of certain wrestlers finally led
to her versus Brie Bella, which I was shocked that
even happened. Like there were moments where Stephanie McMahon would

(47:32):
push people around but never get her come up and
they never was like she Ha's punched in the face.
This finally happened where Rumen Rains did that, and it
was a shocking moment because again it's like blood, we
don't see this very often, so when we do see
and it's wow, look at this, like we used to
see an Agide error, Like all right, bumba Reddler's get
a power bum may Young through a table. This is like,
holy shit, a woman just got beaten up by a man.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
In retrospect the entrance aside and what I said about
the entrance, I do feel like tripleations Defanie were working
over time this night to try to get Roman over
and the curse of the WrestleMania's being too long, the
curse of the Dean and Brock match being adult. I'm sorry.
A lot of the people were there to see that match.
The way they set it up, there were high expectations

(48:15):
from it. You think of so Mania thirty two.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
I was there. The only thing that I like comes
to my head in meet it is the women's match
and like, you know, like that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
And Bray's entrance because he had that brief segment with
the Rock. But I just remember the entire STATEU of
lighting up and the fireflies and it was just incredible
to see.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
But those are the two things that go O.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
A WrestleMania in Dallas, which was supposed to be the
biggest ever one hundred thousand people plus there allegedly, so
you know, like it's crazy. But if you watch the
match back, don't do it you will see that Stephanie
Troboy is really in the match. We're working over time too,
because they know this was supposed to be romance moment.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
It wasn't. It didn't go as planned, but he did win.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
He did win. He became the world champion, World heavyweight champion.
And you know you bring up moments. You know what
happened before the Roman Rains triple H match. What the
Rock surprisingly shows up and beats Eric Rowan in six seconds?

Speaker 1 (49:12):
Six seconds?

Speaker 2 (49:13):
Yeah, so you already and again, as I mentioned, you
are going on at midnight. I remember this very tired,
sitting there watching this with my friends.

Speaker 1 (49:22):
I called you for the parking lot. You were podcasting line.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
We were podcasting the things that happened on this card.
Zach Rider, Windsy Icy title in Macardona in a ladder match,
Christ Jericho defeated aj Styles. The League of Nations won
their match, but then Sewn Michaels, who suddenly in ring gear,
Mick Foley, show up somebody else and they beat up.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
So cold one of like, for my short time seeing
wrestling live, one of the loudest pops I've ever heard.
That has changed after that, But at that point of
me going to events live.

Speaker 1 (49:56):
That stone Cold Pop in Texas was like nothing I
ever heard.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Steve Austin gave Xavier Wood a Stone Colt stunner and
injured himself in the process. So he Steve Austin hurt
himself on one move. You gotta stretch, you gotta you
gotta know, you gotta loosen up a little bit. But
Charlotte Flair defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks and the
inaugural Women's Championship match outstanding Shane McMahon jumped off a
hell in the cell.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
That was amazing. But see, I forgot, I forgot it.

Speaker 3 (50:24):
Doesn't like the Undertaker and Change McMahon doesn't come to.

Speaker 1 (50:28):
That, which was a good match.

Speaker 3 (50:31):
I don't know when I think Chang WrestleMania match like
to the aj Styles one.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
Well, well, we can do a shamic Man podcast if
you want, because that storyline.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Made nobody needs to talk about all right.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
I just want to let you know, don't throw it
out there if you don't want to take that ship
and eat it. Uh though, the next time on Raw.
We have been to ras after WrestleMania's and the crowd
is on fire usually and they boo the good guys,
they cheer the bad guys. And this night is the
night we hear the phrase as I brought it up
in the be I'm not a bad guy. I'm not

(51:02):
a good guy. I'm the guy. They wouldn't let him speak.
Roman Rains tries to speak for fifteen minutes, and the
crowd just boost every time he puts a microphone close
to his face. Well, when he says that.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
One money do we get to they boot him.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
Oh god, and they boot him again. But this is
also around the time Seth Rollins becomes uh he wants
to become you know, Dean Ambros is the dude, and
Seth Ronalds is going to be like the face, and
Roman Rains is going to be the guy. It was
just there's so much happening, but we do get payback.
I mean, first start of the AJ Styles Roman reigns Robvaly.

Speaker 3 (51:37):
The night after Wrestleman, AJ Styles went a fatal four
way to become the number one contender, which made absolutely
no sense because he lost that wrestleming.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
Yeah, there's a lot of making no sense, a lot
of making no sense, but Aria Styles has been here
for a little while. Roman Rains is still kind of
confused and who he is. But we get back to
back AJ styles Roman Rains matches at payback and extreme rules,
and then I'll be honest, this is where I was like,
I became a fan of Roman reigns. I was no

(52:05):
longer in the company of anyone but Roman. I was like, damn,
these two matches back to back were outstanding. They were
perfect phenomenal. If you want to throw that that pun,
do you think I know you're I know you were
a fan of Roman, But if you're someone outside the
bubble seeing these matches, what would you think? Because the
usos suddenly we've never seen the USOS in Roman involved

(52:27):
each other. Now the ussos are here saving Roman because
why Carl Gallows.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
They called themselves the Bloodline back then, and nobody got
onto that. But even even in this year, they were
already calling this faction the Bloodline.

Speaker 1 (52:42):
But people seem to forget about that. I love these matches.
I I thought they were great.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
In a J.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Stalls is gonna put on a good freaking you know whatever.
But I'm sorry, no, you were not affecting it from Roman.
But that's when for me, I was all late. I
always liked Ja Styles and I always like Roman, but
this was also one that I was watching with my
mom and I brought her up during the room bo
and I remember saying, well.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
This guy's really good, huh. And I'm like, I've been
trying to tell you.

Speaker 3 (53:16):
This is when my mom got him bored on the
Aja Styles thrain as a ww we catchule fit.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
Wow, Well she must have been impressed with with Aja Styles.
He does his patented elbow but from the top rope
to the outside onto Roman Reins, who's on a table. Yep,
he murdered him. That Extreme Rules that I was there
in Newark. Wow. But they did adding Carl Anderson and
Luke Gallows. So they're acknowledging the Bullet Club as a thing.

(53:42):
So they're bringing up if you don't know who Aja
Styles is newer fans, but older fans, you know these
other guys. Ah, you know that they're all friends and
they're this two things. Remember that people are getting excited.
But Extreme Rules. The man who's been out with an
injury for a long time now returns. Seth Rond returns
after and he attacks Roman Reigns, gives him the pedigree,

(54:06):
and we are off to the races with second.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
Well, the biggest pop and he's supposed to be a heel.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
Imagine, well we don't get to that part yet. We
have no idea what who he.

Speaker 3 (54:14):
Is yet, No we don't, but he's got and the
best part is like, and I know we'll get to that.

Speaker 1 (54:20):
But the shirt, because he had the new shirt. Of course,
you know how they do this returns.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
The shirt says Rede signed Rebuild Reclaimed, which to me
is the biggest face thing you could do with somebody
who had to go away from an injury.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
I was like, wait, what is he? You know what
is he?

Speaker 3 (54:35):
And I can see why he would attack Roman, right,
you don't have to think he's a heel. He was
supposed to wrestle Roman. Roman has his title, So yeah,
you're absolutely right. At this point you don't know what
he is. But he got a massive pop because I'm
the biggest Roman van. But I also love me some seting.
I remember screaming. Nobody was expecting it. There was no
dirt sheets like there is now. It was a legit

(54:56):
surprise and being there for that was one.

Speaker 1 (54:59):
Of it was a green movement.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Yeah that if you go on line and look it
up that pedigree. When Seth Ronalds just shows up out
of nowhere behind Roman and gives them a pedigree, It's
not like you see like sneaking up. It's like boof,
he's there, pedigree, Boom, he's going He's going crazy. The
crowd's going crazy. But around this time, there's a documentary
that came out. It was all about Seth Rawlins and
his struggle with his injury, how mentally, how he felt

(55:23):
missing WrestleMania, sitting up in the rafters crying. He's he
had to leave. He said, I couldn't stay there and
watch it. I couldn't stay there and watch it. I
had to leave. I had to get out of here.
So we are watching this documentary and then Seth Ronalds returns.
So we have these combos of both the both romans
getting beat up by the guy we just watched a
documentary about fighting through an injury, crying at WrestleMania, wanting

(55:44):
to return, like, oh man, I feel so bad for
this guy. I love him. I want to cheer for him.
But we don't get that. We get the next nine
on Raw where we do this segment. I will say
it's awful. Roman's in the ring, Rawlins is up on
the apron and he he keeps tiptoeing close to the
ring and making fun of Roman and then being like,
ah no, I'm not getting the ring haha haa and

(56:05):
run back and then he runs forward, then he runs back.
It was awful. I'll never forget the reviews of that
episode of raw being like, what are we doing? How
do you take a guy everyone loves and sympathetic with
about it coming back from injury, have him take on
the guy that some people are iffy on, and then
do this awful segment back to back. I'm sorry, this
is a history show, but in the history doesn't be terrible.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
After seeing the documentary, you were just expecting Set to
open this show and just pour his heart out on
the mic. And I remember now at this point that
sure that I told you about what's on the shop.
So we're seeing rede signed, rebuild, reclaim, I'm expecting.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
That, like, like, what does that mean? What are you reclaiming?
What are you doing? What are we redesigning? What's different?
Tell us, No, that's not what we got at all.

Speaker 3 (56:52):
No.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
I was shocked that seth Rollins. I think maybe Vince
was like all right, we're gonna pick up exactly where
we were supposed to be with you as a bad guy.
But now the authority really isn't in power anymore. Like
there's a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (57:05):
Yes, Seth has all the sympathy of the world because
they put out the documentary.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
There's no JJ security, you know, there's no corporate knees,
there's no big show with him. Like Seth Rowlins did
not come back as the same person the Hill and
again the same here.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
He didn't have any blonde anymore.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
He's not the same person. Then that's an imposter, that's
an alien. I tell you he sold his body. Yeah,
but we do get money in the bank. Twenty sixteen,
we're finally going to get Seth Rawlins versus Roman Reigns.
And going into this everyone obviously was like every since
everyone was like, oh, well, obviously Roman Rains is gonna
defeat Seth Rollins because Roman's the guy and he's the
good he you know, no, no, Seth Rowlan. Seth Rowlins

(57:44):
regains the championship. He beats Roman Reigns, but earlier in
the night, Dean Ingbros. Won the money in the bank briefcase,
so he cashes in on seth rawlins and this is history.
In one night, all three members of the Shield were
world champion at one point. God damn, that's amazing.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
When can you when else can you make that happen?
You can't.

Speaker 3 (58:06):
Whatever the things that the Shield have done, you know,
we're talking about it.

Speaker 1 (58:09):
How people just don't give them their flowers. That's one
of the greatest factions ever.

Speaker 3 (58:14):
That was incredible, and it was so funny because fun fact,
this is the night Demon Diva was born on Steve's
podcast because I went on a rent and that's when
you call me. You're not a blogger diva, You're a
demon Diva right now. Because I was so I didn't
know how to feel. And this is as a.

Speaker 1 (58:30):
Roman Race fan.

Speaker 3 (58:31):
It's like I didn't want him to drop the bell
as a set rolling Stan.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
I'm like, well if it's two said, I'm not mad.

Speaker 3 (58:37):
But I didn't like ding you know this whole but
Dian but like so that that part of me was angry,
But the part of me that's witnessing history that liked them.
As the Shield, You're like, what we saw tonight we
might never see again.

Speaker 1 (58:51):
Like that was the coolest freaking thing.

Speaker 2 (58:53):
Ever, I know, how would you do that? I guess you.
The only way to do that again is have a
three man faction and and have someone coming in as
world champion lose to one of them, and then the
other one wins the money.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
That's that over.

Speaker 3 (59:06):
It has to be the perfect timing and all of
these feelings have to be involved because of you know,
the Seid injury, the set turn on the shield, Dean
had all the love Roman was kind of.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
Hated, like it was.

Speaker 3 (59:17):
It was just it was one of those things that
fell on their lap and was so perfect.

Speaker 1 (59:22):
I don't even think they even planned it. I just
think they got into one.

Speaker 3 (59:25):
In the bank and they were like, Yo, we had
the chance to do the coolest thing ever, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (59:29):
You know. I really do think that that's how that went.

Speaker 2 (59:32):
You know, watching Unreal sometimes you see when someone's like
Jay Uso should win. Everyone's like seeing punk, seeing punk,
seeing punk, one person says, Jay, you so. And then
when you see this, like I imagine like all right,
well Roman will beat Rollins. And then someone said, well
what if Rowlins beats Roman. N's like, god, damon, look
how do that? But what if then Dean Ambros cashes

(59:53):
in on seth Rollins Vinces were like, god damn, It's
like Roman never lost.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
And remember people are still angry about it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
Injustice that thing went through with not only with Trovoyash,
but the dud match out for Resonmania that everybody, of
course put it on Brock, as they should. I love Brock,
but at this point I will give that Brock did
not try.

Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
And on top of.

Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
That, they were in Las Vegas, which his deans where
he's built out or that's where he resides.

Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
Like, it was just it was so freaking perfect that
as much as I wanted.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
To hate it, then the geeky was like, every once
in a while you have to just put your friend
on the side and go man, that was really freaking cool.
And like you said, I guarantee you they were sitting
down for that creative meeting looking at money in the bank,
going wait, like that one person like you said, wait,
do you realize what we could do that day?

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
It was cool. It was cool. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
Now here's another theory, which is I think people might
believe this one more. Two days later, after marning the bank,
Remarine is suspended for thirty days for a wellness policy.
Now he's violating it. Two days before that Mine in
the bank possibly Remraine. The Seth Ronins Denabrols cash in

(01:01:02):
was to all right, well, if Roman's gone for thirty days,
we got to have Seth and Dean do something that
matters world championship. So we already know maybe days before this,
that Roman is going to be suspended. We can't cancel
the pay per view match. We can't do this, right
of course, So we're gonna have Roman lose because he's
gone for thirty days. We don't want our champion gun
like that. Well, how do we put a baby face
into a baby face position? Give Dean this championship for

(01:01:24):
a little bit or whatever to fix the situation for
a little while while Roman comes back. What are your
thoughts on that? Because it really seems obvious that they
knew Roman Reigns violated that shit and as a public
traded company, and they couldn't just lie about it, so
they figured a way around it.

Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
I like that theory, and I heard it on multiple
occasions and I believe it this. I mean, there's some
drug policy violations that we have heard that it's just
people didn't even make the test, and if you don't
make the test, they can still counted us a fail
and suspend you.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
The whole point that I'm trying to make is that
this is a couple of days kind of process.

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
So I do believe.

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
That they knew, you know, going into the pay per view,
and yeah, this was the time where the part time
champion wasn't really that much.

Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
Of a thing. After Brock dropped it at WrestleMania thirty.

Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
One, we had a champion present at all times, so
I can I can see them, you know, trying to
go into the situation and Dean Ambrose being the panic button.
They knew that they didn't have all the friends support,
you know, But at this point it's almost like, well
why not put it back on? Senset was doing just
fine as a champion too. But this is coming from
me who loved Roman and said not necessarily Dian.

Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Makes sense. But yeah, I remember this this policy coming
out and everyone it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
Was a big deal. But they were popping on a
lot of people at this time.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
True, but what was the target of the internet was
we don't like Roman, Aha, we have amo against you.
Now you are as goody goody two shoe as you
think you are. You violated that policy. You must not
be a role model. I think that's what crazy people
were thinking online.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
If you dig dip into it. It wasn't even like sterrois.
It wasn't like drugs.

Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
It was a prescribed medication that allegedly he didn't have
the right prescription.

Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
Too. He wasn't the only person that got popped for
that same thing.

Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
He violated a policy. He's, uh, it's the law. Come on.
That's like saying, well, I know, you know I didn't
rob I didn't I didn't rob a bank. I just
stole a Snickers bar.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
Used to I know a couple of people that Ben
popped because they couldn't make it for the test on time.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Like it's crazy. They're very and I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
They should they should, you know, they should be very
strict with that. But yeah, they say, hey, you gotta
be here two pm for a drug test.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
He shout at two five is a fail.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
Damn well, Roman Ruins is gone for thirty days. But
while this is going on, they have the draft and
Dean Ambrose as the world champion is RAF six Okay,
oh yes, oh yes, twenty sixteen is amazing. I'm about
to do a whole podcast series on just twenty sixteen soon,
so it's it's coming out very probably in January. I'll
have it all together. But twenty sixteen is gonna be

(01:03:57):
a twelve episode series on this year to to really
dive in on the storylines and how people really romanticize
about this time, and so I will do a whole
show about that soon. It's gonna be it's gonna be exciting.
But the draft I was there and I was very
excited for this, but they didn't really do much. Denian
Roses sent to SmackDown with the world title, so Rowlins

(01:04:19):
and Rains are drafted to raw, so we are still
gonna get Rawlins and Rains eventually. So Battleground Roman Rains
is allowed to return from his violation and this is
when he has a new shirt as well, and Denim
Rose defeats Roman Rains and Seth Rawlins for the w
W Championship in that man, oh yeah it should have been,

(01:04:41):
but it's July, so we gotta fill it in with something.
So we have Dean Ambros beat Roman Reigns and Seth
Rowlands shield triple Threat. Everyone was excited to see this,
but when Roman comes out, He's no, he doesn't have
a smile on his face, like people are ready for
to rip his head off, because there are these angry
people that Roman are so happy to see that he
fell a little bit with that violation that they're like, yeah,

(01:05:03):
come on out, we can boo you for real. We're
not booming you because we don't like you. We're booming
you because you're violated that wellness policy whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
Think that way before you were booing him that way before.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Maybe maybe so Rains, though he starts a feud with
Russev after this, and so so he can be left
out of the World Championship picture. The Universal title is
going to be birth in summer.

Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
At this time. I don't know if it was that
violation or what, but he really fell down the car
for a couple of months here. Yeah, we didn't even
get the SummerSlam match. I was there. I was so mad.

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Yeah, it's it's very weird that we're rounding at the
end of this podcast on how Rum and Rains is
pushed out of the first ever Universal Championship match. You
would think that, hey, it's Vince's guy, this is the
guy Ballard night one. Yeah, in a match to determine
who would be the first ever Universal Champion. Finn Balor

(01:06:01):
fun fact is the first ever Universal champion, defeating Seth Rowlins.
How long was this rainy suh uh?

Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
Less than twenty four hours? Question?

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
The next night on rock yep buckle bomb folks into
the barricade chicked him out.

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
But at this SummerSlam, this Summerson Roman was supposed to
face Ruseph.

Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
Hey, let me tell you something.

Speaker 3 (01:06:22):
For somebody that pays a ticket to see Rover Rains,
believe it or not, people, do you pay your ticket
for a for a person? Okay, I pay my ticket
to see m Now. I got a great summer Sam.
Don't get me wrong, I still have fun. But I
did not get my Roman range match because they just
brawled and got out of there and the match never happened.

Speaker 2 (01:06:45):
I remember ripped off.

Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
I felt ripped off.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Why do you think that match wasn't on the card?

Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
I don't know, I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:06:54):
That Sommerson was also long. A Summerson went way too long.
Brooklyn crowd was stupid for this. They ruined the universe.
I wanted to see said Versuspin for the longest time,
and because the title was red, they ruined the whole
mass chanting dumb shit.

Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
Over Sorry I don't know if I'm allowed to curse
over channel, but.

Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
They ruined the whole mass chanting stupid stuff because they
hated the design of the title instead of enjoying, well, freak,
we have fifth dollars set rounds for the first time. Like, oh,
I was so mad that night. That was not my
favorite summers it was. I still have fun, but my god,
I wanted to point everyone in that crowd.

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
Yeah, nobody liked the kool Aid red you know.

Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Championship people were again, oh yeah, there it is, yep, yep, yep, yep.
And they made a blue one because when I went
to SmackDown, they were like, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
Well, it's gonna buy all of the world championships that
Romance has won. But because Cody won Day on Disputter,
I'm not buying.

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Oh that makes sense. Don't give their money. Don't give
their money.

Speaker 1 (01:07:52):
Actually, this this world gifted to me. I never bought one.

Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
Oh yeah, well, and no one cares about your suffering.
You all so have broken the violation of the Wellness
policy here by getting free gifts though, the segment that
I want to talk about before this Rusev Roman Raine
SummerSlam situation was Rusev and Lana are celebrating in the
ring with a cake. They're like, oh, we're getting married
the cakes, yeah, where we love each other. Roman comes

(01:08:17):
down and he mocks them. He proposes a toast as
a friend as an ally and then shoves Ruce even
into the wedding cake and also Lana gets cake on
her as well. I remember again as I bring up online,
everyone was like, how is Roman Reigns the good guy?
He he no one? He just showed up. It wasn't

(01:08:38):
like they called his name out. It was like Roucev
was like fuck Roman. It was like Roman just showed
up during the celebration to push them in cake.

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
First of all, you're forgetting the detail of Rusev and
Lana's engagement picture accidentally leaking to TMC where I believe
they we're gonna put them on a different storyline. Something
was happening, because I remember also being a lot of
discourse that this whole thing was punishment for that getting out.

Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
What do you think Roman Reigns is the one leaking
the photos?

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
Do you like them going through the cake and having
that like it was a bit of what you would
consider an embarrassing an embarrassing moment for them, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
So at the end of the day, I liked it.
I thought it was funny.

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Oh my god, I'll never forget online just saying some
everyone's just saying like, how you know, because they always
compare how is Roman the good guy? He interrupted their celebration.
They didn't call him out. He just showed up out
of nowhere and was like, let's have a toast.

Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
Ros like, oh good, I never shown out of nowhere
at a party.

Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
You were invited to the one and then you push
someone into the cake.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
I mean, if he happens, so it has happened to you.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
You haven't denied it. You're not denying yourself here.

Speaker 1 (01:09:45):
No, I'm just saying. I'm just saying, it's wrestling.

Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
Anything can happen, all right, Well anything happened here. You
got screwed at SummerSlam twenty sixteen by not getting the
Roman rings match, and that's the end. Folks.

Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
I think that we're going to want to rid them
of so much.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
Well, yeah, they have held in the cell. Be next month,
I believe if that's the case.

Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
But that's what we've met each other.

Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Oh yes, yes, yes, yes, So it's just funny that
look at Roman Rains as the Summer slams uh twenty fifteen.
It's Roman and Dean Ambros versus Wyatt family. And then
you flash fort a year later. Roman Reigns supposed to
fight Russev and it doesn't happen. And but what a
weird year for Roman Reigns becoming world champion finally in
the tournament because seth Rawlins is hurt loses it and

(01:10:29):
Royal Rumble loses the Shamus made events Russelmanting with triple
h and the fans are very happy about it. What
a crazy year for Roman.

Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
When he lost the title three times?

Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
Right, yeah, seamous, then he lost to and then he
lost it to set seth Rawlins.

Speaker 1 (01:10:46):
That's a crazy year.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Wow, that's a whole year at that. Again, we've talked
about it so far. You know this, this History of
rum and Rains podcast really is showing you that you
couldn't escape Rumen Rains if you wanted to. And when
something bad happened to him in real life, people were
certainly happy, but soon coming up when something really does
bad happen to his real life nobody? Oh, I'm just kidding,

(01:11:10):
because there are crazy people out there accused his stance
on leukemia about that, saying, oh, well, how do you
film a movie if he's sick? And so we'll talk
about that next time because some people are insane and
we will get to that all right, next week's episode.

Speaker 3 (01:11:26):
That might be a long episode because we might go
off the rails with that one because I'll never forget that. Yeah,
that what people were saying and doing. They stay tilled
next week because about to get interested.

Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
Yeah, that's a teaser for you. Because the internet. We've
talked about it for about an hour and a half
here about how the Internet was reacting to ruman reigns. Well,
next episode we'll talk about how they went way too far.
And this is where social media, I believe, began its
down spiral into just being a shit storm of angry
people mad at somebody that's not them. So we'll talk
about that next week. But I think twenty sixteen is

(01:11:58):
in just twenty fifteen to twenty sixteen. Uh, it's very
interesting for Roman being a coming champion three times. The
Shield finally has a triple threat wellness policy being violated.
Like there's a lot here and I'm so happy we
talked about it here on the ro Marines podcast before
we wrap this up. Any final thoughts on this year, No, I.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Just feel like I said it last week and we're
staying with the consistency that Roman career has always been this.
You know, like a lot of people say, oh, he
was being shopped on our throats like a John Cena,
and I don't feel that way because I feel like
John Sina went like this, and there's thing like this,
and then we.

Speaker 1 (01:12:32):
Slowly declined we're with Roman. So we's been an open down,
up and down, open down, and uh.

Speaker 3 (01:12:38):
Talking about it and rewinding and discussing with you has
really always It's proven to me that my theory of
his career being so all over the place is true
because I never really sat down to like chronologically take
a look at it until now.

Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
So, yeah, it's a lot of open downs.

Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
Yeah, about four episodes from now, it will be no
ups and down. There'll just be like its great, It'll
just be this and we'll have a fun time talking
about that. But thank you so much for tuning in, folks.

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero.
