Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Yesty Channel time and by.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
History. Oh, he doesn't listen to complaints, but it sure
looks like he is.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Welcome to the Wrestling History Channel.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
I'm Steve, I'm with Manny today talking about what the
heck is going on in professional wrestling?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
How are you doing today? Good?
Speaker 4 (00:29):
How are you doing? Thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Of course it's a pleasure.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I always enjoy your content, so I wanted to bring
you on and talk about what is going on in
professional wrestling these days. And every time Triple H does
an interview always brings up like, well, you know, people
can plain online, but we don't pay attention to them.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
But then he's also sening.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Well, I love to scroll on Twitter during shows, but
I also won't change what it we're doing.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
But if you complain enough, we will now.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Looks It's kind of like what I want to talk
about is when someone says they're not listening to you,
but then does exactly what you were saying. Well, isn't
that mean Triple AG really is listening to the internet
when he flat out doesn't want to admit it.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Oh, they're definitely listening. I mean, I think that was
evident with the whole art truth thing for sure, like
that made it so evident. They definitely listen. They definitely
pay attention as much as they don't want to admit
it and like play it off that, oh we had
that storyline going or whatever it might be. There's definitely listenings.
They're definitely taking into consideration what fans want. And again
(01:29):
another instance was John Cena tweeting AJ styles and then
all of a sudden we got the ajmatch, So they're
definitely listening. They're watching everything we do.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
I do.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Like how they the John Cena Ady Styles one. They're like,
we always had that planned.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Yeah, they tried to play it off really well.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
And the problem though is when you go live on
the online world, for instance, Jay Usso's matches or situations,
you go on YouTube, it's like, did you see he
has a billion dislikes? And they you're thinking, well, when
I go to a live show, though, there that that
audience might be there too, But there's a lot of
(02:06):
like mom and Dad are paying thousands of dollars to
bring their kids to the show.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Little Billy and Sarah aren't going.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Man, I wonder if jay USA is gonna be blown
out from his entrance the kids had to see the entrance.
That kid doesn't give a shit about Jay Usso wrestling.
He's like, I want to do this. I just want
to I want to do it, That's all I want
to do. Like the online versus the reality, I think
is a problem in today's world where we all believe
that what we're seeing online is the term everybody. Everybody
(02:35):
feels like this and are you seeing this more and more,
especially for Jay Uso.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Yes, I actually talked about it on my YouTube video today.
I kind of went on a little bit of a
rant because Saturday night, the Punk and USO match, I
really enjoyed it. I thought it was a great match.
I thought they both did really really well. And then
I went online and so like all of this criticism
like Punk's old and slow and then Jay did this wrong,
and you know, it was just like constant like negativity,
(03:01):
and I was like, I thought that was a good match,
Like you guys are taking this way too far. You're
analyzing whether or not they're pinky toe was actually on
the mat or not, Like it's just ridiculous, and I'm
just like, Okay, can we just watch and enjoy it
instead of like, you know, creating this scenario where somebody
did something wrong.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, there's a lot of that.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Well, because I think we're looking for these deeper meanings
into a man beating another man for a championship that
someone wrote a story for. Like I love television, you know,
I loved I've been watching this documentary about Loss, Like, oh,
that show Loss. Yes, it's a show. I understand these
people aren't actually on an island. We should understand seeing
(03:44):
Punk and Jay usso don't actually don't like each other.
And if they do, their coworkers and they're getting paid
lots of money to work with each other, so they're
gonna do it.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Like the discourse of what's.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Going on with everybody online versus what's happening in reality,
where the argument I saw recently was this Ripley brock
Lessener argument of rear Ripley is more popular than brock Lesner.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
No, brock loves is more popular than reing Ripley.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
In the real world.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
They weren't saying the wrestling world. They were saying beyond
the world of the wrestling bubble. What's your thoughts on that?
Because honestly, like I use my dad who's super old
as an engagement of if he knows something something so
big in this world, even your old man knows about it,
you know. So with ree Ripley and brock Lessner, that
argument is that just a generational thing where one group
(04:31):
of people will always say brock Lesner, another group of
people will always say re Rippley because of the age gaps.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
Oh absolutely, I think so, And that's a new one
to me. I actually haven't seen that argument, but yeah,
I definitely think it is a generational thing. I mean,
to me, it's kind of like I'm a huge sports
fan across the board and you always hear like the
Lebron versus MJ stuff. Yes, it's a generational thing. The
set of people are gonna say MJ. These set of
people are gonna say Lebron. It just really depends on
(04:59):
who they are, who they've seen more of, and who
they really honestly enjoyed, because people are going to defend
the people that they love and that's going to be
the end of it. So yeah, it's definitely generational. It's
definitely who they see more of, and it's definitely who
that they have related to more throughout the wrestling.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yeah, and especially even today's world now Nicki Bella getting
this resurgence again, and I think the newer fans maybe
are like, oh man, I've heard stories, But if you
were living in the Nicki Bella era, when it was
Charlotte Flair and Beckie Lynch and Sasha Banks getting brought
up and Team Bad versus Sorority Sisters versus Team Bella,
(05:39):
that was everyone. This is a real everybody and everybody
situation where a lot of people are like Nicki Bella,
we hate you, we think you're terrible. I hope you
fall over and hurt yourself like they did not like
Nikki Bella in twenty fifteen.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Flash forward.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Now people are praising her like she's Trustratus or Lita,
And where do you land on that? Because for a
long time it was only like, well, bring back a woman.
It's gotta be Tristretta, it's gotta be Leta. Now we
got Nikki Bella in the fold, and I'm really enjoying
it because she was good, but people won't give her
the credit.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
I've always been a Nicki Bella fan, so I'm gonna
stand on that ground. I've always loved Nicki Bella. She's
always been one of my favorites. But I do agree
with you. I think people have never given her the
credit that she deserves. I feel like that they have
always been like, well, you know, she's okay, but she's
not as good as this person. And she's okay, but
she's not as good as this person. And I've even
(06:30):
seen that with her coming back when she faced Becky Lynch,
I saw a lot of criticism of like, oh, well,
you know, Nicki Bella's back, but look what she did
to Becky. It was horrible and she missed this move
and she couldn't hang with Becky here. And so I
think that a lot of people don't give Nicki Bella
the credit she deserves. And I don't know why, because
(06:51):
she was such a big pivotal part of that whole
Divas era, the whole like honestly women changing wrestling part.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Yeah. Well, because go back to now.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
In today's world, Hollywood and musicians want to be involved
with the WW. The ww's not begging D list celebrities
or D list musicians to come to their show, like please, please,
we'll promote your book, just come to our raw and
see Nicky Bella. People knew about Total Divas. They knew
about Total Divas without having to watch Ross Mackdown. That's
(07:24):
how the bellichwins became popular. And I don't think they'll
get their credit. They deserve to bring in a whole
audience that didn't even want to watch wrestle in. They
wanted to watch the personalities of the wrestlers, and that's
what I think Nicki Bella did for a lot of fans.
But I know she'll never get the credit she deserves.
When she does turn heel on Stephanie. I pray to
(07:45):
God that she brings back the Butterfly the Devas Championship
just to piss off every single person, plus to good
bite it on the shop for like nine hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Yeah, and I love that one. That one is like,
if you know anything about my personality, it's like I'm
Pink Sparkles. So that is my favorite championship because it's
like my whole personality.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Wrapped up in a little uh yeah again. People hitted
that championship, but in today's world, there's a whole group
of people who I love the Dvas. I love Candace Michelle,
and I love Tory Wilson and the certain athletes from
that time frame that people will always say like, well
they want they.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Want wrestling, they want wrestling. It's like, well, I didn't
want them to wrestle.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
I wanted them to be these over the top superstars,
which they were, and so but yeah, I know, the
storylines clearly are changing, evolving, title changes, multiple Clearly the
faction of the vision could have easily just been like, well,
seth rollin Tarch, but we're gonna continue on in his name. No,
they were like, nah, fuck that guy. Like there's a
(08:42):
lot of things changing, and it really shows you that
maybe the bloodline and Corey Rhoades finishing his story, when
we hit that plateau of being the perfect place, well
where else to go? You gotta go back down. And
I'm not saying it's a bad ride. A roller coaster
goes up and down. But right now, obviously you can
see it too. I know I did see that video
(09:03):
about your you know, promoting positivity. But the problem is
it's very hard sometimes to find the positive when you're
focusing on all the little bad parts. Because I when
I was watching Raw recently, you know, I thought looking
Paul being like a baby face helping see him punk
was fun.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
I thought Nikki Bella coming out. I was like, damn,
like look at her. Choo's great.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah, Ray, Mysterio and dom Dom getting each other's faces
setting up another scenario of Masterio going to retire soon,
Like there was a lot of good. So people can
find the bad and all that shit they want, but
it's easy to find the good too if you look
for it. And for you right now in the WW
you know, you do see a lot of discourse on
a lot of complaining. For you, what is some of
(09:43):
the positives you see that you're finding as just a fan,
as someone who's going, wow, all right, this is this
is changing and this is for the better.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Honestly. I love the tonight the Ray and Dom kind
of teaser. We know that Survivor series is going to
be in in San Diego, which is hometown, and I
think that is a cool, cool kind of like twist
on that. I'm wondering, is that the play, Like is
that why they gave us this teaser? But then I'm
(10:11):
also wondering, like you said, you know, they've always said
that like when Ray Tire retires, Dom might be the
one to do it, And I'm like, okay, so we
know he got hurt, Like is that on the line,
Like is that what we're thinking? Like, what is going
on with that? I really enjoyed that tonight, and I'm
really enjoying Dom as a whole. Honestly. I think his
(10:32):
entire character and personality is really fun. The Saturday Night
Main event match where he rang the bell because he
knew Pental was going to tap out with Rusive and
he knew he was going to lose, Like, that's such
a fun creative twist. And his whole persona is like,
you know, cheat to win, kind of like the Eddie Guerrero,
and so it's fun that they're finding new ways to
(10:55):
do that, like the tapping of the bell, and so
I really am enjoying him. I think every single match
he does is really really fun. I'm also enjoying the
depth and the talent on the women's roster. I think
it's at such a peak and there's so much talent
there that I want them to do so much more
with it. And I talked a little bit about it
(11:16):
on Saturday Night Main Event. I think the women deserve
more than one match on these specials or these pls
because there is so much talent and so much depth
in the roster and it goes all the way down
the NXT NXT, the women's division is absolutely great. So
I think that that is something that I'm really really enjoying,
is seeing these women shine and getting the opportunities that
(11:40):
they deserve, especially like Jade winning the championship. She's been
in the title picture ever since she really came to
the WWE. It's never really worked out, and then now
it's like the perfect time for that transition for her.
So I'm excited to see what she does. But yeah,
I definitely think the women's depth and talent is a
very bright spot right.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Now, and specially the tag team division for the women.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Like what we're seeing is so you know, last week
we start this amazing tag team matches Shott Flair and
Alexa Bliss.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
I'm thinking, Okay, well that was great. Can this this
this clearly can't continue.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Well, then you had uh Roxande, and you had a
Raquel and Stephanie and Nikki, then you had the Kabooki
Warriors and actually as well, like.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
There was a lot of oh oh.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
But the problem though is clearly unfortunately what they're doing
is setting up war game matches for the Women and
the Men, which is great, but now we're in the
situation of from now until savvor series, every single ros
smackin is gonna be like, okay, a combo of us
on each side. They're gonna fight each other and in
no singles matches, then tag team matches and flinger on three,
(12:46):
then four and four they will get the war games
like that. That's the unfortunate nature of Survivors series where
you have every week it's like, well, it's.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Like almost you just throw the talent in there and
then those two are facing each other and then the
revolving door just keeps going.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Yep, and even match to see who gets to be
number the first one in the chamber the last one
in the chamber.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Like there's gonna be a lot of that happening, which
is fine, but for you war games.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
The men's match to me right now is very like, okay, well,
you have to have bron Breaker the Bronze in one side,
see him punk jay Uso on another, maybe La Night
tossing him in there, and then what brock lesnar at all.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
It's super up in the air, especially tonight with throwing
Logan Paul in the mix like that made it even
more up in the air because I'm like, Okay, where
did this guy come from? I definitely, obviously it's gonna
be the Vision on one side with Broun and Bronson,
and you know it's gonna be Punk on the other side.
Ja Us is a wild card for me because he's
(13:51):
been on a whole different level lately. He's kind of been,
I feel like, being strategic, So I don't know which
side he's gonna fall on, and Tonight rows on right
now as we speak, and I don't, you know, him
and Punk are the main event, and I don't know
what's gonna happen in that, But I just don't know
if he's going to We've seen him kind of like
(14:13):
test the waters of like being a heel almost and
I'm wondering if they're gonna go full send and he
be on the side with the Vision, or if he's
gonna come back to you know, down to reality and
be a face and stay with Punk. If that's the case,
Jimmy is definitely going to be over there. We saw
Logan Paul tonight, so I feel like he's gonna be
(14:35):
on that side because they wouldn't have just randomly threw
him in the mix if he wasn't going to be
But I definitely I do expect to see brock Lessner
on the bronze side, especially as much as Paul Hayman's
mentioned his name lately, I think he's going to be there.
But it's interesting when seth Rollins got hurt, everything was
kind of like, all right, who do we plug in there?
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Yeah, you can throw a lot of people in there
for storyline reasons, but yeah, Paul Himan all on Raw
was talking to jay Usso trying to convince him, yeah,
you know, maybe you should you know, tribal chief and
maybe you should be your own man.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
And so there's a lot of interesting storylines there.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
But also, if I'm in charge of jay Uso and
you're seeing the yeat shirts and the glasses and everything,
he ain't turning heal anytime soon.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
I'm sorry, and I fully agree. I fully agree with that,
but it just feels weird lately. So I'm not sure
what they're gonna do with him.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah, they're like, well, he's never gonna be like a
guy who starts spray painting good guys and beating him
up and doing things like that with baseball bats. He's
always gonna have to yeat. We got guys, we gotta,
we gotta. I got a big mansion. I gotta pay
for it back here, you know, I gotta. Tk O
needs that money. They needs a yat money. But no,
I think it's interesting was happening with a lot of
his wrestlers right now. I just feel like the past
(15:47):
two weeks suddenly everything has been flipped upside down, and
I love it so much. I think a lot of
people were hoping Cody would lose his title to it
seemed like, at least from online perspective, but we did
get see him punk. You know, we did get a
new champion all around, up and down, left and right.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
So I have enjoying the changes, do you.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Sometimes it feels a little stale, sure, But also I
think what happened was they got used to the same
recipe of all right, we need a big moment at
pl E.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
All right, now we have Ron SmackDown.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Ron's back time runs now a big moment at pl
E Ron SmackDown, Ron SmackDown, Like there were they forgot that.
They were like, oh shit, we also have to have
big moments on Ron SmackDown. But because we were spoon
fed that for like two years, Like, all right, I'm
cool with this, but no, I think it's I think
that it's everything is changing for the better. But in reality,
what do you think is the next thing they need
(16:38):
to do to I guess as online thinks, you know,
stay the course.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
I think the number one thing that I would say
needs to happen is I think that they need to
strengthen smack Down a little bit. Yeah, out of all
the shows, that one's kind of been to me, like
the boring one out of them all. I just don't
feel like there's a lot going on there. I think
they need to work on strengthening that. Whether it's bringing
NXT talent up because they've had some injuries on SmackDown,
(17:08):
whether it's bringing you know, people together, I'm not sure.
The one thing that I feel like needs to happen
is Julia needs to either defend that title or drop it,
because I feel like it she hasn't really defended it
much as a singles competitor. She's been in a lot
of tag matches with Keana, but I feel like she
hasn't had a lot of the title defenses that I
(17:29):
would want for that championship when we saw Chelsea hold
it and even Zelina they were fighting for it pretty
much almost weekly at least every other week, and we
haven't seen that since she wanted. And I really like Julia.
I think she's a great star. I just think that
they gave her the belt and they're like, Okay, what
do we do next? So I know she has a
(17:49):
match with Chelsea Green on Friday, which is a great
start to that, and either way they go, whether Chelsea
wins it back or Julia keeps it, I hope that's
the start of the build of that.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Again, oh so too, because you're right, there was a
moment where I know Jacob fot two is actually hurt
and like you real life, but there was a moment
you saw like, oh, you've Alistair Black, you have Jacob
fot two, you have Slevega doing stuff, you had Juliette.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
And then I don't know what it was like poof,
where'd they go? What happened?
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Literally like this was such a great SmackDown, And I
was excited because it was all these new combos, new
storylines because new people, and then suddenly all the people
that I was interested in all disappear at the.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Same time, and uh, now.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
We're building some people back up and we'll see what
happens there. But Minnie, thank you so much for coming
on the wrestling history time. I'm talking about current day
wrestling storylines because a lot of shit's shaken up heading
into the Survivors series. Seeing Punkstar Champion, I am so
happy about that. I'm drinking pepsi to celebrate. But, uh,
thank you so much. And where can people reach you? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (18:57):
So I am on pretty much ever social media. I'm
on Instagram, TikTok X, and YouTube at Mandy Nicole Sports
on all of them. The only one that is different
is X. It's at Mandy n Sports because I can't
have that long of a name on X, so they
can find me all there. I have my links to
everything on every single social so if you find one social,
(19:18):
you'll find them all perfect.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Well, thank you so much for being here. I'm ce
Fall Shoes Man. You have a wonderful day and we'll
see you next time.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Bye bye,
