Primed Fatherhood

Primed Fatherhood

This is not just another parenting podcast although teaching children is an important part of being a great father. This is not just another podcast of what to expect as a new father although it will help “new dads” become more prepared. This podcast was created to explore, discuss, debate and decode the path to sustained-powerful fatherhood. Please join us as we share stories of our transformations from weakness into strength, from fear into focus and from overwhelmed into undaunted. Being a great dad requires a lot more than just putting food on the table but it is attainable to all who focus on becoming great. The best fathers are not born great. They are PRIMED to be great by working daily on increasing their abilities to (P) Provide, (R) Refine themselves, (I) Instruct their children, (M) Manage their time/relationships/resources, (E) Engage/recommit daily and (D) Defend their families from a world full of threats.

“Any problem, big or small, within a family, always seems to start with bad communication.” Emma Thompson

I would say most of our problems in life can be solved or aided by better communication. If not by communication by itself then by knowing how to communicate with the right people at the right time.

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” George Bernard Shaw

If you know you suck at...

When I started Rugged Material I was still in college. I got a tip to go to the group called the “Thinkubator” group on a thursday night. It was my first stab at trying to network my own business. I got to the meeting a little late and saw this big group of middle aged guys sitting around a fancy conference table all very engaged in little side conversations with people around them.
