The Importance of Personal Responsibility and Discernment

In this episode of 'A Prisoner's Pardon' podcast, host Michi J emphasizes the significance of personal responsibility and accountability, particularly in the context of avoiding figurative and literal prisons. Through a personal anecdote involving an interaction with a pregnant woman at the mall discussing 'God, the mother' and referencing a specific scripture from Galatians, Michi J illustrates the importance of verifying facts for oneself to maintain freedom and peace of mind. The conversation underscores the broader message that personal responsibility and critical thinking are essential in any situation, encouraging listeners to always seek the full context and truth for themselves.

(00:00):
In this culture.
We always see it's all about me.
believe it or not, there is atime when it is all about me.
It's when it's my responsibility.
And stemming from that, it leads to myaccountability, whether I like it or not.
There is an account.
And this account will either be a good.

(00:22):
Thing or a bag thing.
And it can either give me a peace ofmind or I can lose my peace of mind.
And even worse.
I can lose my freedom ifI don't get this right.

(00:54):
Hello.
And welcome to a prisoners part inpodcast with me, your holes, me, TJ.
If you followed this podcast,so you wouldn't know that I'm
mostly interviewed guests.
Who have amazing stories and backgrounds.
And by listening to their stories.
We learn new and relevant ways to helpavoid doing any type of prison time.

(01:21):
As my last guest, Jamal Jumanji said.
Prison starts in the mind first.
So these stories.
Are not just good.
For people going in andout of physical prison.
But it is good for everyoneto hear and to share.
Now today I have a story andit happened last week to me.

(01:46):
At the mall while I wasthere with a friend, we went
there for coffee and a chat.
Not long after we sat down,a young lady approached us.
She was a Spanish descent was pregnantand had a little boy with her.
She politely asked us ifwe'd like to take a survey.

(02:06):
, my friend and I was like, sure.
She then asked us if weheard of God, the mother.
We both said no.
And asked her where shehad heard that from.
She said it would send a Bible.
She pointed us to two scripture verses.
My friend immediately say, you do knowthat the use of the term mother is used.

(02:29):
Interchangeably with Jerusalem.
And I told her that you have toread the whole context to get the
true meaning and full understandingof what's actually going on.
In this particular story and thatyou just can't take out parts.
She just kept pointing tothis one verse in the Bible.

(02:52):
And that was in the book ofGalatians within chapter four.
Now at this time, her little boy.
Was antsy and he hadto go to the bathroom.
I told her, Hey, just take himto the bathroom, come back so
we can further discuss this.
You know, because hewas just interrupting.
It was obviously he really had to go.

(03:13):
But she kept pointing to theverse and we said, fine, fine.
I wanted her to go to the bathroomand come back so we can really discuss
this and not have to rush through it.
So while she was gone.
My friend and I pulled up.
The chapter.
I won't go into a lot of detail.
About.

(03:34):
That chapter or get into the motos, possibly behind why she was doing what she
was doing, because actually that's not thepoint of me discussing this here with you.
Telling this story, the main point.
Of this.
Story into any story you should belistening to is to learn how to respond.

(03:59):
If you are in a similar situation.
That's your responsibility.
That's our responsibility.
I should say, because at the endof this, there's going to be some
accountability to this responsibility.
Now, this is when it's correct tothink it's all about me because.

(04:20):
Guess what.
The responsibility is going to be on me.
And the account is going to be on me.
The account, meaning.
It will either count for a good way.
Or a bad way for me.
The bad way is that itcan get me caught up.

(04:40):
Just get me thinking the wrong thingand making the wrong decisions.
And then it can cost me my freedom.
As well as my peace of mind.
. Upon reviewing it ourselves.
We found that it didn'tstay what she stated.
Again, this is why it is critical.

(05:02):
That you review things yourself.
So, you know, what's right.
And you keep doing the right thing.
Therefore keeping your freedomand your peace of mind.
Unfortunately.
The young lady never came back.
Let's just say we won that battle.

(05:23):
And we need to win a lot more.
We need to always check for ourselves.
It doesn't matter.
Who's talking to us.
And that includes if it's me,you need to check things out for
yourself and look at the evidence.
Now, lastly, I like to say Ifound it like very ironic because.

(05:46):
This happened a fewdays after mother's day.
Remember she was talking about mother God.
God, the mother.
Again, this was just a fewdays after mother's day.
She was obviously pregnant.
She was there for a mother.
And she had her a smallson with her as well.

(06:07):
And also the chapter that she wasreferring to, mostly in Galatians four.
It talked about a mother beingin slavery with her children.
And how the mother.
Who was right.
Is standing free.
And that's the message to us.
? That's all today that I have for you.

(06:30):
I'm so glad that you're takingthe time to listen., Take care.
And may you have a weakfield with blessings?
