Era el tiempo en el que el nuevo milenio empezaba a nacer. La violencia en Colombia estaba a flor de piel al sur del Tolima en donde no hay presencia del Estado, sino que el orden público está a cargo de las fuerzas insurgentes. En una de esas veredas como cualquier otra, llena de naturaleza por todos lados, en donde falta de todo, menos las buenas personas, se da esta historia.
Saúl, un profesor oriundo del norte del Tolima, fue enviado a prestar su servicio a la vereda Campo Alegre, cuando le propusieron este trabajo no lo dudó, no titubeó. Pensó… “voy a mejorar con mi vocación de servicio a mis paisanos”. Lo que no sabía era que nunca regresaría a su casa.
