Jillian Angeline sits down with Jeff to talk about his journey with Light Detection and Ranging. He says technology is so good these days, the machine can send up to 3 million laser pulses a second to the ground, mapping the world with coordinates.
"Take your paintbrush, a four-inch paintbrush and dip it in a bucket of paint, put it on a string and spin that bugger as fast as you can get. If you did that in your living rooms, it's a disaster, right? Everything's covered. And that's how LiDAR works," Jeff told Jillian.
Jeff is creative and resourceful, recounting how he and team members would visit Toys "R" US to get ideas for their LiDAR setups, going as far as buying toy cars, taking them apart and calling the manufacturer to get more information.
Jeff is all about family too, especially grateful for his wife's support. His grandkids are even using drones to help herd sheep on their solar farm. You'll hear about this, and so much more. Thank you for listening!
