Speaker 2 (00:15):
This is the Fantasy Baseball prospect podcast. It's Prospect one.

prospects do not, and we do not. So make sure
you come and check it out over at in this
League dot Com. Ladies and gentlemen, This is my annual
Arizona Fall League preview show. Some people not gonna care
(00:59):
about this up, especially as you tune out, but boy
do I because I am out here in Arizona. I
will be at the Arizona Fall League almost every single day,
probably gonna take Sundays off because they're now doing Sunday
games but I will be out there more than most
at least is a fair way to say it. I
want to say more than anybody. But I live out here,
I'll be out I've been doing it since twenty sixteen,
(01:21):
so we're closing in on my ten year anniversary of
going crazy with it, and it means a lot to me.
I think Jeff Ponce had said it not too long ago.
He I think he said this on air, so I'm
not trying to toudy, but he was like, I'm like
the representative in our industry of the AFL. Like I
told him, He's the Cape Cod guy, and I think
I'm kind of the AFL guy because I really do
(01:42):
love it. And this is a fun thing that I've
been doing for many, many years where I go in
and I try to predict what the Arizona Fall League
is going to be. And joining me in that to
help and add to the predictions, of course, is Fantasy
aase Ball. It's Tim Kanak. Tim, you are entering my
a FL world, my friend, and you have done exactly
(02:02):
what I do. You've got a sheet together of some
possible names, and we're gonna speculate on the Arizona fally.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Yeah, I'm excited to really like live vicariously through you
as much as I can.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
On this.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
I haven't convinced you to do that, like one day
red eye to come out for like a day or two. Oh,
super important job, honey, I'll be back. You haven't. I
haven't convinced you to try to run away for a
day or two yet.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I would love to if there is a direct flight.
That's the biggest issue, and that was the biggest issue
with me getting there in the first place, is like
I have four kids, so like a little behind the scenes,
they're all really young, like four and under, and I
was trying to convince my wife for us to go
out there, and the thing is to get someone to
babysit for little kids.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Is nyon impossible?
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Like nobody wants to do that for like any span
of time.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
And then my wife is like, no, you're not doing that.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
You're not going out there by yourself and having a
bunch of fun while I'm stuck here with four kids
all by my lonesome. Uh So, because I don't want
to get divorced and I don't want to like get
my head cut off.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Uh yeah, me, why is there not a direct flight
is like Florida to Arizona, too much of a trek.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Yeah, I don't know. Forget, I really don't.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
I really do not understand because I flew direct to
Seattle last year. So why they have a direct flight
to Seattle and then not till like Phoenix doesn't make
sense to me.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
But interesting, that's so interesting. Well, you will have to
live vicariously through and we'll be doing episodes during the
Arizona Fall League where you know, probably early on we'll
be I'll be breaking down players a lot more. The
latter half will start getting some player interviews in so
pretty status quo. I will tell you though, the Arison
a FA League has brought some awesome stuff. If you
(03:47):
go back in the history of Prospect one Julio Rodriguez,
you know we ended up interviewing. I'm not drawing a
complete blank. We've had like big interviews across of great
Nolan Gorman. Uh. You know what I haven't done is
a ton of pitcher interviews. I kind of want to
do a little bit more of that this year. I
haven't chatted with a bunch a bunch of them, But
you know, Julio, Jared Kelnick god like Victor Scott, Reggie
(04:12):
Crawford from last year, Tristan Cassis. So, I don't think
a major leagueers is what I'm trying to do. There's
been plenty of them and hopefully we'll have more cool
ones in it. So in this episode, predict the players.
The important for fantasy people you do want to know
and you want to pay attention because if you are
a mover and a shaker, there's a gonna be players
(04:34):
you're going to be able to take advantage of on
both sides. People players that people don't know about that
you're going to want to pick up players that will
get off season hype that you could trade off and
they work hand in hand, because sometimes it doesn't work out. Listen,
biggest l from last year at this point has to
be like Jacob Marcy. Jacob Marcy looked like you look
like an MVP out here, played phenomenal. I don't remember
(04:58):
maybe he won the MVP. He was just great. He
was killer you, showing off power, stealing bases like crazy,
consistent hitting and he's fallen off the planet this year.
But you know, a you could have got in and
you could have traded off that market, But at the
same time, I would say, like, you know, cow Manzardo
definitely took a big up, and then people kind and
(05:20):
this is after like a bad year, and then people
kind of like went right back to kind of hating
him again. And everything that I saw, I'm in and
the AFL really helped push that and it helped build
the concrete below my thought process. And since his recall up,
we've seen homers happening, We've seen multi hit games, He's
looked good. So you know, it's not a linear path
(05:42):
on any of this stuff. I think it's just good
to be informed. And unfortunately there isn't insane coverage of it,
like some of the outlets will tweet out like daily reminders,
which is great. Salt River Fields has created a thing
where they try to do broadcasts, and I think more
places they're trying to broadcast some of the games. So
that's all fantastic. But no matter what, I will continue
(06:02):
to tell you what I see in person. We'll be
breaking it all down and it's cool to know what
the names are, but we will familiarize everybody with how
it works, what the structure is, the type of players,
and then we will do again the predictions. I don't
know if we'll have any point system to it or
anything like that, because there's a couple of teams that
I really struggle with. But you know, we'll see if
we can get some of these players. What was your
(06:24):
thought process, by the way, in like putting these togethers,
Like what do you I think people are speculating what
the AFL is going to be. It used to be
the finishing school. Then it kind of it's all it's
had I think multiple different public versions of it from
all of the main prospects. We'd come here back in
the day, Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, they all play here
(06:45):
because it's a finishing school. Then it turned into and
I mean akunyev Lad. Then it kind of altered maybe
into this like I don't want to say not finishing school,
but just like all the dudes that are hurt or
miss time that needed more production, but not a finishing
school to what it was last year. And then some
(07:05):
speculating that this could now become maybe it alters back
to finishing school, but you might see more drafted players
than ever. We rarely get guys that were just drafted.
I remember Nico Horner was one of the few guys.
But maybe we'll have more of like a draft base
thing that happens here. Do you think there's going to
be any theme where we returned to finishing school or
(07:27):
more of the low prospects. What do you think?
Speaker 3 (07:30):
I think that's a part of it. But like also
like a fixing school. So like when I was coming
up with my list of names, I was like, Okay,
who's close that's pretty obvious.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Who's close and just needs a little polishing off.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Who was hurt and definitely needs to get some more
PT because they missed too much time from being injured.
Who's in college right, like you said, some of the
college guys, maybe they just want to get some extra
pas too.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Maybe they want to get, you know, see what they
can do.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
I think, like what Skemes pitched like one inning or
something like that last year just because they wanted to see,
like like, oh, let's see Schemes pitch and like Okay,
that was good enough and moved off or something like that.
But like I think fixing school is like maybe the
trend for this year because there's a lot of guys
I feel like that were really close last year and
(08:14):
we thought we're going to be up at this point
and then had issues and maybe some of that is
Triple A, because I feel like Triple A, like the
ABS especially, I feel like it messed up a lot
of pitchers just because they're not used to pitching around
an automated system, and then the batters could take advantage
of that. Like I heard a podcast, I think it
was Just Baseball podcast with arm Layton and his buddy
(08:37):
is Griffin Conine, and he was talking about how like
he would definitely be just laying off of certain pitches
because he knew that the ABS would call it as
a ball and like, so it was really an interesting podcast.
I'll listen to if you haven't checked that one out.
But it's just interesting to see how like some of
the Triple A hitters were like gaming the ABS against
the pitchers. And if you look at a lot, like
(08:58):
there are a number of pitchers that right and they
hit trumple A all of a sudden, their walk rate
just like double and so I feel like they're almost
has to be like Carrisa where some of these teams
are gonna look back to try to fit to like
fix some of these pictures that have good stuff and
then ran into like abs troubles. So maybe this year
we get to see more like quote unquote good pictures,
because I remember you saying that, like usually the it's
(09:22):
it's mostly like good hitters, and you don't get a
lot of like the good pictures.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
You don't know, I mean, Mackenzie Gore pitched when he
was still struggling. We last year we did get joeb
and Tiedeman, which was interesting, but they usually you don't
get great pictures that come out here. We've had. I remember,
way way long ago six to Sanchez was supposed to
come out and then they pulled him.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I kind of agree with what you're saying to that point.
I think there's the potential for the Fall League to
maybe push back a tiny bit into a finishing school.
And how I would be very interested if they did this.
It's pretty common, you don't. They don't send Triple A
players here. Not a lot of Triple A players come here.
(10:06):
If they do, they're usually like twenty five years old.
You just don't get a lot of that. I actually
think it would at least behoove to see maybe a
higher collection of Triple A type of players too. Exactly
what you're alluding to more of like, all right, you
know we have this new world at ABS is involved
and the balls change at different levels of the minor leagues.
Let this be the bridge that they have the Bridge
(10:28):
League now, Let this be the bridge between Triple A
and the majors, which was the finishing school which it
seemed to kind of slowly start to move away from.
And last year was this like really just low talent pool,
Like the number one player was like Carson Williams not
I mean, he's been great and stuff, but you know,
this was a league that used to have a Kunya
and Vlad that I think there is a potential that
(10:51):
you could get some higher level players maybe than usual,
but I think it'll still be mixed with like guys
that injured and miss time and I and I I'm
very interested in what you're saying with the pictures because
I do have a couple of top pictures that are
projected to come in here, because again I think that
would benefit It's all the crazy speculation of what this
league is going to be doesn't actually matter at the
(11:11):
end of the day, because I guess one of the
things I'm alluding to in this little Bridge of a
couple of years between where it was like you know,
Studs Kunya and Flad to then what it's been the
last couple of years. It's been more of the testing ground,
I think is what it became. It went from finishing
school to testing ground where it's like, yeah, we're just
going to like send out like this collection of prospects
(11:33):
and these guys, let's see what they can do. We're
also testing out you know called balls and strikes, and
we're going to have the robo thing here, and we're
going to have the Systa abs system here and they
do all these different ball and maybe teams just didn't
see the value and while they're testing all this stuff
to send their prospects that I think it could alter.
That's my hope, because I'd like a better, more talented
(11:56):
roster pool. So let's take a break. When we come back,
we're going to tell you about what the team affiliations are.
If you're maybe not like one hundred percent familiar, I'll
just do a quick run through, and then we will
talk about the players that we think could be out
here in the Arizona Fall League and who could thrive.
We'll do it right here on prospect. One after this, Shay,
I like you.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
I like you so much.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
I'm gonna make you my partner.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
All he has to do is find the gold and
I'll share it with you.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Fifty to fifty prospect was.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
The Arizona Fall League, and it's like twenty something, twenty six,
twenty seventh year. I think it was like the twenty
fifth anniversary. Starting back up, we got team affiliates, we
got a schedule. They have altered some things they ended up.
There's a bunch of weird different stuff, like the first
pitch Arizona for the first time, and god knows how
long maybe ever, will not be a part of the
(12:50):
All Star weekend that they have because that All Star
weekend is like late. It's also like right up against
the election. It's like the All Star weekend and then
the next week is a championship. I usually think they
have a week between that. They're doing Sunday games this year,
which is the first time they've ever done that, and
they pretty much have a game every single day, and
they're also moving some weird odd ones. So the Arizona
(13:11):
Fall League, for the uninitiated, it's a small league of
six teams that are comprised of every Major League team
and they use the Arizona Spring training facilities. So the
six facilities are Salt River Fields, home to the Diamondbacks
and Rockies, Sloan which is home to the Cubs, Peoria
(13:34):
which is home to the Padres and Mariners, Surprise which
is home to the Royals and Rangers. Scottsdale which is
home to the Giants. Did I do oh?
Speaker 3 (13:42):
In?
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Camelback Ranch which is home to the Dodgers and White Sox.
Those are the six facilities they will use. Each team
will have five Major League teams attached to them and
they all have their their own names. So you have
the Glendale Desert Dogs, you know, the Mesa Solar Socks,
you have the Surprise Souoros. Pretty great logos across the board,
(14:06):
and those will comprise of these teams and the prospects
that are going to be put out there. I usually
tend to try to put more of a focus him
when they have the time, but they kind of waited
a little bit longer for the affiliations to look and
be like, all right, who does Glenn? Who is the
five teams that comprise of Glendale? And then you kind
(14:26):
of compete against those rosters to see how it could
fill out, because there is a way that you could
look and you'd be like, oh, you know, like we'll
use Glendale for example, because we're going to start there, Dodgers, Phillies,
White Sox, Cardinals, and Reds. And it's like you could
probably find a shortstop on each one of those teams.
But will that make sense with all five of those teams?
(14:47):
So you have to start eliminating some players, So I
try to do a little bit more of that. I
didn't get as much of a chance to do that
this year, but I kind of take that into consideration
when putting these all together. But Glendale, Mesa Puria, Scottsdale's Surprise.
I keep feeling like I am I missing Glendale, Masa Puria,
(15:08):
Salt River, Scottsdale Surprise.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Yes, that's exactly right.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Those are the six teams that we have, So let's
kick it off with the Glendale Desert Dogs. The Dodgers
and the White Sox are guaranteed to be there. The Phillies,
the Cardinals, the Reds, your Cardinals, Tim, You could be
out here in Glendale just watching your Cardinals play with
all these great guys and I know it's gonna I'll
(15:33):
get you plenty of video. Though, let me ask you
before we start. I'm gonna give my predictions, and then
you're gonna add to it. What would be the dream prospect?
I'm gonna throw this into each of these organizations, not
for each team, but I'm gonna give you the Dodgers,
White Sox, Phillies, Cardinals, and Reds, and I know it's
Cardinals are gonna probably pop up for you. Give me
(15:54):
one prospect between those five teams that could come to
the Arizona follague that get you jacked up. Oh, I
can almost answer this for you, though.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
I think I like I've got to go jj Weather.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Of course that I would be disappointed.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
I'm a Cardinals fan and I just really want to
see them push him, especially since he like some of
the other guys, where he started up in hig A,
like Bizana started in Hi A, Condon started in Hi A,
Jack started in hig A, so it's like he only
played in low A. He did not play Hi A,
and he's not a double A yet like some of
these other guys, even like Cam Smith is up in
double A right now. So if he is not going
(16:34):
to get pushed to double a right now, Like I
would definitely like to see him at least get some
reps in Arizona Fall League because I want to see
the Cardinals push him a little harder.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
So let me throw this out to you as well.
The couple notes as we're going to jump into this,
I do have names, not puns. I do have confirmed names.
Just mentioning it again, I'm not going to tell you who.
You just can't have to guess for yourselves. There are
some that are online, and I might reference a couple
of those. You can do searches on Twitter. You can
(17:02):
find there are a couple players. There's actually one player
on this there's no I'm sorry, four players on this
Glendale team that are one that are confirmed on Twitter
that you can already get and those are gonna pop out.
But I do have some names. So there's one caveat.
There's another caveat I'm gonna throw out there that there's
a rumor that some feel we might have the largest
(17:27):
amount of drafted players in this Arizona FO League than
we've had before. Now, I want to say, if you
have three players from the twenty twenty four draft in
this entire Arizona Fall League that will probably be exceptionally
more than any other. So don't think that you know
we're gonna get you know, three players per team, blah
(17:49):
blah blah. I'm just saying there's some thought out there
that some organizations might be a tiny bit more aggressive
and use the Arizona Fall League in there. And the
reason I'm saying this as well is like I am
not projecting JJ Weatherhol to come out, but seeing him
not go to Double A could be a sign where
(18:09):
it's like, get your bearings under you, go play some
instructs or go to the facility, hang out, and then
we're gonna send you to the Arizona Fall League and
then that's going to be your push to go to
high you know, to go to Double A next season
and maybe you'll be on the cusp of the majors.
There's a legit possibility that that could happen. While this
rumor is kind of swirling around that we might see
(18:29):
a few of these draft because there were like a
lot of college dudes. I'll tell you this, I would
be shocked upon shocked if any single high school guy
that just got drafted went to the Fall League, it's
not gonna happen, but the college guys, there's a legit possibility,
especially as teams feel they may be able to push higher.
And if you think about the possibility that teams might
(18:52):
start being like, oh, let's use this more as this
bridge between Triple A and the majors instead out of
like again, it's like the old school finishing thing. It's
just that there's a bigger there's a bigger gap that
we've seen between Triple A and the majors. I'm totally
in on this idea, so I wanted to throw that
all out there. I think that's a really good one
(19:13):
to say, because I think there is a slim chance
that he could be one of those guys, especially based
off of what you just said. All right, let's start
with the Dodgers. On this team four, I have four
projected players that I'm throwing out here. I'm going to
give you two that I think the two that I
think are really highly likely. Alex Freeland and zayre Hope
(19:37):
are two that I think really makes ansire. Hope missed
some time. Alex Freeland had a fantastic season and I
think he would be but he's also a little bit older,
if I'm remembering correctly, and I think this is one
of those guys that kind of sits in that world
of you can parade him out there, you can let
him play multiple positions. I think Alex Freeland and Zayer
(19:58):
Hope make a ton of sense. Mattic Bruns is another
one of those that could use more inning. So this
could be the start of this team. Actually could have
quite a few really nice pitchers on it in Glendale,
and I think Maddick's Bruns would make a lot of sense.
Also to throw out again, this is the home team
for this stadium, there's an extra advantage two teams that
(20:22):
have an Arizona Fall League home to what prospects they
send out. And we have seen the Dodgers send out,
you know, Jose Ramos and Yorbitt, Vivas, They've sent out
Bobby Miller was sent out here. They've sent out some
big prospects, White Sox, Colsont Montgomery, Luis Roberts. I mean,
there's an extra level of comfort, So I don't think
it's crazy to project high prospects. And that's why the
(20:44):
last one, Josuey de la Pala, I think makes a
lot of sense for this. This is a guy that
got into the a's put up some big numbers, needs
to start translating to power. This is the prime type
of player. The high A to double A guy or
that recently moved to double A are the key players that
(21:07):
move out here as big prospects. It's either like they're
old or they're up and coming at that high A
ish level. So I think Gilswet de la Pola could
be one of the studs the stars on this team.
And if I'm going through some of my choices, he
makes all the sense in the world for the outfield
that I'm projecting. So Freelan Hope, Bruns de la Paula
(21:29):
for the Dodgers. Tim, what are you gonna add here?
Do you got anybody that you think joins this group?
Speaker 4 (21:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I think we could see Dalton rushing just because they
moved him to the outfield and.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Almost put him on there.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
Yeah, I think they would maybe want to get some
more outfield reps under his legs. Dio Cartaya is kind
of kind of a guy who's like stalled out a
little bit. Like I said, maybe a little bit of
a fixing league here. And then Peyton Martin. I liked
him a lot like last year, and he had a
pretty rough year, and he looks like he's like he
was hurt and he looks like he's back throwing again now.
(22:01):
So maybe they want to try to get some extra
innings for Peyton Martin and see if they can get
him back on track.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
I really like the rushing one. I struggled with him,
and I actually kind of chose De la Paula over
him because if I'm also sendings, I think I have
to make a decision. If you have a hope to
Paula and him, they're all outfielders, you really can't do it.
So I will throw this out. I think there's a
possibility that Russian could overtake one of Depaula our hope,
so it might be like you know, Freeland and Bruns,
(22:30):
and then it's Rushing and Hope or Rushing and De
la Paula. They could also use him as a catcher,
but I have two other projected catchers in there, so
I'm gonna those are my four, and I like that
you added those guys. Let's go to the White Sox.
This is a tougher Ish team. There are already two
public names, so we can confirm Grant Taylor and Sean
Berk are both going. There's another great pitcher. Grant Taylor's
(22:54):
a monster and he's you know, trying to get help.
He needs to get those innings up, and I'm excited
to see him. Burke is fined the other two players.
Jacob Gonzalez from the previous draft is one of those
players that you know you might want to get more
of a push on the full season. Look, I do
think there's a chance maybe he doesn't do anything and
(23:14):
they just say screw it. They might prioritize some older
player or something like that, but I think Jacob Gonzalez
would make a lot of sense. They've also sent out,
you know, some oh god, I'm forgetting who it was
a couple of years ago, but they've sent out some
of their top shortstop prospects. Last year it was Cols
to Montgomery. So, like, I just don't think Gonzalez is
crazy here. And I'm adding in Sam Zavala, who was
(23:35):
traded from the Padres to the White Sox. He has
still ruggled. He has been bad, and I really think
they need to get some hands on, They need to
press him. They might need to make some adjustments, and
it's a perfect spot to get him here at the
facility and you kind of get to control him. I
think this is one of those guys they need to
(23:56):
get a bigger look at, so Sam Zavala, Jacob Zalez
and then we I'm cheating because I get Grant Taylor
and Sean Burke. Who do you want to add on
the White Sox.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
We might see Colson Montgomery again, just because he was
just not good this year, Like I thought he was
coming up this year, but obviously that's not good. Hagen Smith,
he's already throwing, but maybe that's a sign that he
wouldn't come up because they're getting that throwing action in
now later.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
So if they did.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
That, I mean it could.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
And then the last name, I think Miguel Vargas could
end up back there, Like I remember Lars Newpar got
hurt and he was he had been with the Cardinals
for a while and then he was there after he
had like I don't know, eighty games or something, so
like he had playing time at the time when Nubar
was there. So maybe they bring Vargas in just because
like I almost feel like they have to just they
(24:45):
have to like find a way to make that trade
look better because there's like the whole rumor that they
could have had Luke Kischel and passed on that because
they didn't want to trade in division when they traded Fetti.
So I feel like they've got to make something out
of this Miguel Vargas acquisition, and they.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Got to fix him somehow, right, I got it to
I don't think he's even eligible, but I will tell
you there are exemptions. The reason I'm saying this is like,
so there's a rumor that the Diamondbacks might send Dre
Jamison out to the arison A Fall League, and we've
seen there was an instance a couple of years ago
where Kyle Schwarber came out for three games Tyler O'Neil.
(25:25):
But I don't think they can be here for that
entire time. And there's no exemption for Miguel Vargas. He's
not prospect eligible. He's in the majors. They're not playing
in the playoffs to get healthy. He didn't have Tommy
John So I'm going to disagree with that one wholeheartedly
because I also think he'd go to Dominican Winter League.
But I think the logic of what you're saying makes
complete sense. There is a possibility Colson Montgomery could come
(25:48):
back out. I think that would be a rough look
for them. I'd also throw out if they want to
get aggressive, George Woolco has been one of their best prospects.
I think they could do that and Albert Alexander Albertaz
is another player who they acquired from the Dodgers. He
could also be another option. But those are our additions
on the white They're a tough team. They're a tricky
(26:10):
team with their players. Let's go to Let's actually go
to the Cardinals. We'll go in the numerical order after
the teams that run this place. Thomas A jay Z.
Thomas A jay Z's one I'm gonna throw out there.
That would be one of the rare triple A guys
for getting some production. He's kind of had a down year.
Leo Bernal is a cheat because we saw their agency
(26:33):
as say congratulations, you're going out. There's a catcher. I
got two other players. One's going to be a crossover.
Here's a returning guy to CoA Robie who has just
missed a bunch of time injuries. He needs more innings.
Right now, we've got a rotation of Bruns, Grant Taylor
to CoA, Robi, I think that spot's there for him.
And then check this out miss and Chase Davis. Chase
(26:53):
Davis spent so much time at lower levels this year,
kind of trying to rework his swing, find himself. He
to me is a prime player. They have sent out
outfielders every year, from Jordan Walker to Victor Scott. They
sent out Mason Whin, They sent out some of their
top prospects. Tin Kins has already been there. I think
Quentin Matthews has pitched too much. Jimmy Crooks has already
(27:17):
been out here, Cooper Jerpy's already been out here. If
I'm already sending Roby, I just don't think they sent
out a bunch of guys. But like Chase Davis, to me,
is the key looking player that they send out here
they can get some more improvement. It's top athlete. They
love sending outfielders out here. So I got Chase Davis.
Robi bernal And said, jay Z, who are you adding?
(27:39):
This is your team?
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Baby?
Speaker 4 (27:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:41):
You know, I would love if Chase Davis gets out there.
He's been so much better since leaving Abel. Like I mentioned,
Florida is just a really tough place to hit, so
it's good to see him perform.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
And he's a hometown guy from you o aay, so
like he you know, I think he would be very
open to coming back to Arizona.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
I had Cooper Jerpy on the list just because he's
only pitched like fifty something innings this year again, but
maybe they just decide, Okay, he's going to be a reliever,
Like there might be just.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
A time that they have to decide that.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
The other name that I could think of is maybe
they want to see Chenway Lynn closer because he's been,
for whatever reason, in Florida the whole the whole season,
just dominating a ball with this one hundred mile power
fastball and he's twenty two. It's like it really makes
no sense why he was an a ball this long,
and maybe the higher ups need to see him. I
(28:30):
think that there's gonna be some major front office changes
with the Cardinals, so if like kind of the rumors
him Blue might take over. So if that happens, maybe
he wants to like try to push some of these
guys into being like, hey, are you gonna be a
started a reliever, Like, let's just make something happen in
movie where you need to be.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
I like it. Going to the Phillies. This is a
big one. Andrew Painter. Andrew Painter is not pitched at all.
I think he's starting to do some stuff. This is
the most obvious of obvious that has ever been obvious,
as Andrew Painter belongs here and we are giving them
quite the freaking rotation now. So Andrew Painter Aiden Miller,
(29:07):
I'm a little bit on the fence about. I think
he would make a lot of sense from his push
justin Crawford and Moys's chance. Those are my four Phillies.
It's a lot of talent, and the Phillies have done
it before. I'd point out Bryson's thought. Alec boehm, oh god,
I'm forgetting the picture that they like. They've sent out
some big names before, nothing new. And the reason I'm
(29:29):
saying this is sometimes teams don't like there are plenty
of teams that they'll just skew away and just kind
of send some of the older players. That's not a
Philly thing. So that's why I think it's a possibility,
but I'm not sure. They send out Crawford, Miller, and Painter,
and I will be honestly, the more I look at this,
we might have a crowded outfield, but Moyses's chance justin Crawford,
Aiden Miller, Andrew Painter. Those are my four guesses from
(29:51):
the Phillies. Do you have anybody to add?
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yeah, nick Abel, I think he's been there before.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
You better No he has not, but you know he
was on the short list. He would make a lot
of sense. I think he's just pitched a lot of innings,
so I wasn't sure.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
He's at one hundred and two, but he was so
bad this year in triple and I feel like they
just need to, Like I said, it's fixing school time,
Like this is a dude that needs to be fixed,
Like he has really good stuff and he just can't
make it work. And I think he just needs closer
work with like good coaches to help kind of evolve
him because he's at he's at a point where like
(30:25):
he spent the whole season at Triple A and he
he made it up to Triple A the previous season,
Like do you really want to pop him in Triple
A again, like I feel like you want to you
want to see what you have here with him?
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Yeah, okay, And then finally we're going to the Reds.
This player has been confirmed, Edwin Arroyo, So there's kind
of another big name. Edwin Arroyal is coming back out
based on what we've done here. You know, the battle
between that middle infield ish is kind of been going
between like Freelan's a Jay z Arroyo. I also had
(30:57):
Jacob Gonzalez, Aiden Miller. I do think it's doable though,
like maybe some of those guys can play third, you
might have them moving some other positions. But Edwin Arroyo
is confirmed. I also am throwing out salth Stewart, who
has been rehabbing out here. He did rehurt his hands,
so I don't know where that would go, but I
saw him rehabbing in the Complex League. Alfredo Duno also
(31:18):
that's a young one, but Duno is playing in the
Bridge League right now out here. He's missed a ton
of time this season. He's a younger guy, but I
think it would make a ton of sense. There's also
spots for catching, and then it's a little bit of
a bigger name. He's kind of been up and down,
and I guess I'm sending a lot of big Reds guys.
But Cam Collier, I just think, yeah, Kim Collier futures game,
(31:40):
kind of push batting average. I think there needs to
be an adjustment there. That is a lot of big
talent from the Reds. I think I'm going to hit
even two of the non Arroyal ones. Collier is my
biggest question mark. Who do you want to add on
the Reds to finish out the Glendale Desert Dogs.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Ma Reese Hines would make a lot of sense from
a finishing perspective.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Especially back to the Majors though he.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Did I mean, he was Hurtle for a little bit,
so I'm thinking that they might want to get something.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
He did play in the Arizona Folly. I'll add two.
I think that makes that one tough. He's been in
the Fall League and he's in the Majors.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
But Okay, and Chase Petty and Connor Phillips just kind
of sticking on that fixing thing, Like both of them
were pretty bad this year. So I think that either
of those two pitchers would make a lot of sense.
Like if I would expect at least one of those
guys in my opinion, and.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Phillips has been at the facility, the reds facility, so
there's definite possibility. So Glendelle Desert Dogs, you guys, let
us know who did we miss? Who did you like?
Out of that one? I'll tell you there's like one
or two guys maybe that I've known behind the scenes
and those names that we mentioned. All right, let's move
over to the Mesa Solar Socks. Yes, the home where
the Chicago Cubs are. These logos are pretty great, by
(32:51):
the way, if you want to rank them out, I
probably I love the Surprise Cactus personally, and that is
my home team Mesa. I don't know. This is a
dicey one. Some people really love it. I don't particularly
like it. I think Salt River Rafters is the worst.
It's just like waves. But I digress. Mesa has the
Chicago Cubs, the Oakland, Sacramento, Las Vegas as, the Los
(33:14):
Angeles Angels, the Rays, and the Red Sox. Rays have
been The Rays have I think always almost been here.
So let's start with the Cubs. We do know Luis Rujano,
I believe is his name is going to the fall
League for the Cubs. That is a confirmed one. I'm
actually going to add four other names. I'm going to
add Ben Kwless, who actually was here in the airs
(33:37):
on a fall league with the Yankees, but I have
heard some rumors that they could send him back out
to get a better look. This is their home stadium.
Michael Arius with the Cubs, a big power pitcher, Brody
McCullough and Matt Shaw. Now Matt Shaw is a tough one,
but I thought Matt Shaw might be a guy that
could come up this year in keeping in that respect
(33:57):
of teams saying, hey we are going to play this
little bit more like a finishing school. I think this
would make a ton of sense for him to come
out here. Could play a couple different positions. It's his facility.
Get an eye on him. That's a big name. Not
a lot of big names for the Cubs. But I'm
gonna have them sending Matt Shaw because they've already done
Al Contra and Treanto's and Brennan Davis. They've played all
(34:17):
the players. I do not think they're gonna send Balisteros.
I haven't heard anything in that respect. He could cad Horton,
I don't know if he's healthy enough. Ohen Casey has
been here. I mean you literally go down the list,
it's young, young guys or guys that have already been here.
So Matt Shaw, I'm gonna say, is the big name
because they do traditionally kind of have big names. Anyone
(34:39):
you want to add on the Cubs.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
You pretty much win over anyone.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
I just think, like if I agree if Cad Horton's healthy,
I feel like he kind of needs to be there.
Only thirty four thirty two something like that innings this year,
so like they really need to work him up. Like
that's another guy I thought I was going to debut
this year, probably would.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
Have if it wasn't for injuries.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
I just don't. I don't know the status of where
he's at on his That's what's key. I will say, like,
because this is like their home facility, could be one
of those guys where maybe like halfway through the Fall
League if they want to get him and submit that
sometimes players leave Christian Franklin, I remember with the Cubs
left one time. They can they can interchange a few players,
and the Cubs would be a likely team to do it.
(35:17):
But I was on the fence about the Matt Shawwan,
but I'm gonna send him. I'm gonna tell you I
did struggle with this team a bit. The A's I
could really only get three because I think they'll probably
send a bunch of no name guys. I would not
be shocked if Kurtz or Tommy White went out. I'm
not projecting them to go, but I would not be
(35:39):
shocked if they ended up doing it. I am gonna
send a returning player in Max Munsey, who is high
level Triple A but had some significant miss time. I
don't think he'd want to come back just with how
he was out here, but I do think again, finishing
school so much misstime, Max Munsey has to come out here.
Luis Rales the picture, so it's gonna be one of
(36:02):
those pictures that we're gonna get out here. Eighty one
innings pretty solid. Arizona Fall League would probably allow you
to push to that one to one ten to get
him closer to the majors. He had a four to
two ERA this year. I think he makes a ton
of sense. And Henry Bolt. I'm sending a couple big names.
Henry Bolt obviously had a really solid counting stat year.
(36:22):
He ended up having fifteen homers, forty three stolen bases
two sixty one. I will tell you Daniel Sussak could
be a potential name that could come out. I've heard
Cooper Bowman was supposed to come out here like two
straight years and has never not done it. But outside
of that, I really struggled. Do you have any a's
names that you think are a possibility?
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Uh, you know, I was thinking maybe Roi Ver Salinas,
but I know he had shoulder surgery, so I don't
know if he's gonna be healthy by the time. And
he was out here last year, Oh and then and
then Gunner Hogland. He pitched a ton of innings, but
like he was kind of like good or not good.
There's like no middle ground. I feel like restart just
doing the the weekly prospect stuff. It's like every every
(37:04):
week it was like either a really good week or
really bad week, and there's no middle ground. So maybe
they just like work with him a little bit and
he might only make like come out there for an
appearance or two. But maybe they want to try to
like fix him up a little bit because I think
he's pretty close.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
Uh, But they just need a little.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Work with him. I think I think it's a good name.
It just he pitched one hundred and thirty innings, Like
I don't know what they like. Maybe he would come
out here and just do like a little like one
relief spots. That might make sense. But that is a lot.
But this is it's kind of homish to them because
this is the other mesa team. Now we're going to
the Angels. This was my literal biggest struggle. I have
two names, Matthew Lugo, who was traded from the Red
(37:43):
Sox over and Nelson Rata. Rata was someone they put on,
you know, a higher trajectory. Really had a down year
from where he was going, but age to level is
in his favor. Hit only two thirty one homer this year,
thirty five stolen bases. I think it would make to
get him out here, work on the stuff, try to
(38:03):
get going, you know, you know, try to get some
power projection when I say get going, and Lugo to
see what they have. Everything else is a mystery to me.
George Klassen eighty seven innings. They traded for him. It
makes sense. I just don't know if they would do it.
I get you know what, I'm gonna add him to
the list. I'm gonna because of the innings. I'm going
to throw him out there for the the you know
(38:24):
how they want to skyrocket players up there. But everybody
else is just like older names to super super young
level names. Do you got anybody else I'm going to
add classes to my list.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
Christian Moore, Christian Moore, he's gonna be If he's not
called up, he's going to be there.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
I think, well, he got hurt.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
I was gonna do the same thing, but I believe
his season was ended, and I don't know, you know
what if if he's not, if he is healthy by
the time, that is actually a possibility because of it.
But I want to say the injury might have been
a little bit longer.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Yeah, left menisk left meniscus injury. To treat it conservatively,
but he may return to play this season. So that
sounds like it might make sense and different to sit
the rest of this the regular season and then you
bring him back in the Fall league.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
Yeah, buddy, Okay, that's a good you know what, good call.
That's a really good name. That would be a big one.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Any others or is that I agree with you in
class in like he was on my list and then
Lugo and Rata were also on my list, So like
I think that like he had eighty whatever innings and
he was he's been terrible since going to LA, Like
he was so good with the Phillies organization and then
right when he hit the Angels just being terrible.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
So like, I don't know, they need to have some
talks with him and figure out, like, hey, what are
we doing wrong here with you?
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Why were you good with them and then not with us?
And I think they need to just like figure something out.
Maybe it's like they're trying to force something out of
the pitch mix that doesn't really work and they need
him to just like do his thing. But I think
something's off there and they may want to try to
fix that.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Let's go to the Tampa bay Rays. They have typically
brought out some big dudes. I mean, they brought out
Carson Williams last year. The player I want them to
send is Xavier Isaac. I'm not going to project it.
I'd also love to see Braden Taylor. I'm not going
to project it. I feel like they might taper back,
(40:15):
but they have sent you know, the Curtis Meads, the
Josh Low's, you know, they have sent some of these
big guys. I'm not going too much further down my
four players. We're gonna start with Trey Morgan. I think
Trey Morgan makes all the sense in the world. He's
an eight class first basement. I think they've also been
trying him out of other spots at a really good
offensive year. I'd love to see him here, and I
(40:35):
think it makes sense. Chandler Simpson just stole his one
hundredth base, following the footsteps of Victor Scott. Come out here,
try to work on some of that power projection, steal
the crap out of bases. And then two players that
they acquired from the padres, Aiden Smith coming out here
and Dylan LESCo needs to rework some of the stuff.
They've both got familiarity, specifically obviously LESCo with being out here.
(40:58):
I think those are there. Personally, Braden Taylor or Isaac
would make this great. I'm just not confident. And another
side one I had thought about was Matthew Etzel as
like a deeper player, an older player that they might
send older ish player. I think ed SEL's like twenty
twenty two. But you know they've sent out like the
Mason Hours and stuff like that. That's my list on
(41:20):
the Rays officially, Trey Morgan, Simpson, Aiden Smith, and Dylan LESCo.
You got anybody different.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Yeah, Colton Ledbeedder as a college guy in hya makes
some sense, I think. And then I you know, I
was thinking they might try to get a little aggressive
like Padre's style here, and we might see theo Gillen
or Brailer Guerrero. If Guerrero was healthy enough to like
bounce back out and see missed those at bats that
he would have gotten able if he didn't get hurt, that'd.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
Be a big push. I mean, Brailer's a rookie guy.
I don't foresee that. Gillan Maybe I'm just like again,
I told you I would be absolutely shocked of like
high school players from a draft going. So I'm in
a big no on Gillen Brailer. There could be in
it that situation. They got a lot to choose from.
I think people would be like, what about Gary Gary
(42:06):
gil Hill, Eh, you know, nineteen year old with like
one hundred and ten innings pitched. I don't think so.
Maybe Santiago Suarez would be one of those guys, but
he has one hundred and eleven innings pitch, so that's
why it's like LESCo was a disaster and only got
to eighty four innings. Get a look at him, try
to fix that. That's why I go there. And then
finally with the Red Sox. I would kill for any
(42:28):
of the Big Three. I just don't think the Big
or Big Four. I'm sorry, I don't think the Big
four are gonna go. I do think did Marcello suffer
an injury? Of the Big four? Between Keel, Mayor, Campbell
and Anthony, I think Mayor is the most likely. He's
also a West Coast guy, I think from La I
would say him, but I'm not putting him on the list.
(42:49):
I've got Miguel Blice, David Sandlin, who is a royal.
I think they might want to get a look at
I've got the password, Like, I just still can't hit
his name.
Speaker 4 (43:00):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (43:00):
What do we say? It was Austinson Austins Parcia, Yeah, exactly,
Mickey Romero and I put Blaze Jordan as a last
ad here. So I guess I'm cheating if I try
to stick to four. But the password sand lnn Blice,
Mickey Romero, Mikey Romero, and Blaze Jordan are five Red
Sox that I'm projecting, So no monster big names, you
(43:21):
got anybody different?
Speaker 3 (43:22):
Yeah, I think Mayor is going to be there. Uh
even just looking at his injury update here, it said
that he's shifted his rehab program to the Red Sox
facility in Florida and he's not expected to return during
the season, but that leaves open that he could return
for Arizona Fall League and uh wickledmon Gunzalez. I liked
him a lot last year and he had a pretty
(43:44):
bad year this year. So again with the whole fixing
type thing, that's a dude who needs some fixing and
he didn't really get up there in the innings.
Speaker 4 (43:52):
So I think that we could see him.
Speaker 2 (43:53):
And I would say, like based off of what I
put together, wasn't a robust pitching staff. I mean it
was Morales, Classen and LESCo are kind of the big names,
So there might be some opportunities out there. Also from
a shortstop perspective, you know, Shaw cowls months, he could
play third, Like, there's definitely if Mayor wants to go
(44:14):
like he could be kind of the stud of that team,
but it's not a big powerhouse team. You know, the
Glendale team looks better. This is very representative of last
year's AFL Like, there's not suit I mean, Matt Shaw
would be the closest to like a star on the
list that I put together. If you add Mayor, that
would bump that up. Let's go over to the Peoria
(44:35):
have Alina's one of my favorite teams. Encompasses the Padres
and the Mariners. That's their home stadium. They're also going
to be bringing in the Braves, the Brewers, and the Marlins.
A couple of those teams are pretty common. Let's start
with the Padres here. It has been said online. I
(44:56):
still kind of have a hard time believing it. But
Leo devrees him on the list is going to Theirs
on a folligu according to his agency, which is a
pretty aggressive push for them. But you know what kind
of did with Jackson Merrill too, so it's not too
much of a problem. I guess now that I'm looking
at this. I did struggle with San Diego because the
other ones I put up this was a rookie who
(45:19):
was just drafted who I think he's only played a
tiny bit and I've seen I've talked to him once
various tears with I think it was with Tennessee, if
I'm remembering correctly, was here in rookie ball, not playing
a whole bunch. I think this is one of those
guys in the draft that they might want to get extended,
look at, get some playing time out of. So I'm
(45:41):
going to put him out there, and then I'm going
to put Cole Paplam, who was just a lower end
pitcher who could be a starter reliever. They like to
send out those type of guys, Alec Jacob, the guy
they traded to the Blue Jays, and for getting Braden Net.
I think Paplam makes a bunch of sense and he's
missed a bunch of time. This team is really devoid of,
like really solid talent. There's a lot in rookie ball
(46:03):
and that was just drafted. And then it's gonna probably
get I hate to say it. I just think there's
gonna be names that people don't know. Maybe a Rosemund
Verdugo could be out there. Do you have a different
name to add to the Padres list?
Speaker 3 (46:16):
I mean I have a reliever, Francis Pana. But you
need relievers on these teams too, I guess. And then
Ethan Sallas was the one I wanted to ask you about.
I was like, since they pushed Devrees and Sallas has
not been good this year, do you think it's possible
that they sent Sallie.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
One hundred percent possible. I'm not sure that they do it.
I think he might go to the Dominican Winner League.
I think that the argument is that he struggled and
kind of stunk, and that they need to keep really
close eye on him. To send too like eighteen seventeen
year olds is like wild to me, But you know what,
I'm open to it. It is their facility. I guess
(46:52):
as I'm looking at this, I don't have a ton
of catchers. I have one catcher projected, so that'd be great.
I'm just not sure that it actually happens. The Mariners,
I have Colt Emerson going to the Arizon a folly.
He's missed some significant time this year, didn't get to
(47:13):
get the big push up, so cold Emerson could use it.
I'm also sending Teddy McGraw, who who was in the complex,
like the whole year and then right at the back
half of the year got some innings. Absolutely makes sense.
A dude that I love, Carlos Jmenez. It just I
got to talk with him in Complex and he made
the move up. He's a little bit older, and I
(47:34):
think that might be a player that they end up
wanting to take a look at. And then I'm also
throwing Jimmy Joyce, who's another one of those reliever pitchers
that they would want to throw out here. I think
the question that are going to be on people's minds
are the players I'm not sending Cole Young, Lazaro Montes.
Yeah they could, I just don't know if they send
Colt Emerson, Why send Cole Young, lazarro Okay, I might
(47:57):
be wrong about that. And then Filman, he suffered a
hammet injury. He does kind of line up to come.
And I will admit this, how amazing would it be
to see like Devrees and Felman playing next to each other.
But if I have cold Emerson and Derees there, I
don't see why Felman would make sense and why they
would want to push him. And then you go down
(48:18):
the list, maybe Typete to play in the outfield, oh,
you know what, I'm sorry. I want to add Michael
Arroyo to this as well. I think that would be
one of those guys who they could go and he
could play more of a second base. But Emerson McGraw, Hamenez, Joyce, Arroyo,
that's my list. Who do you got to add? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (48:35):
I agree with Arroyo even though he played a lot
and he moved pretty quick. But I think they like
him enough and he performed well enough that they want
to see him against some higher level competition, if you know,
like we think there there's gonna be some good pitchers
sent starting pitcher Logan Evans is a natal and then
Harry Ford.
Speaker 4 (48:55):
I just feel like he's already here.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
Though I know he's been there, but like he had
such a bad second half, like he was he had
a really good start to the season, and I don't
know what happened to him, Like starting like June, he
was just terrible. And I think that they might want
to like tap into that and see.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
What's up they sent I just I don't think they
do because they sent him here. But I will add
he's been playing outfield, so there might be an advantage
if they want him to come out here and solely
play in the outfield this time. That would be the reason.
It'd be a pretty big stretch. But the new position,
sucking and home stadium do work in his favor, but
(49:37):
it would be a rough go of him, like coming
back here. Let's go to the Atlanta Braves. They are
a little They're a tough team to project. I will
tell you this is a team. They did send out
a Kunya, but man I felt like they have sent
out wildly weird names every single year, so I really
don't have a great feel for them. The players that
I'm projecting, Cade Cooler, Jean Carlos Lara, and Drake Baldwin
(50:02):
are the three players. So that's your catcher that's going
to be out there. I believe Cooler twenty two years
old at HIA, so he fits kind of the narrative.
Only fifty three innings that makes a ton of sense.
So I think those are right there. But like previous
dudes were, I mean, I'm seeing, like David McCabe, they
had sent there the collection of outfielders that have never played.
(50:22):
They do tend to send like older players that they
want to see what they if they have anything out
of them, So I tend to lean on that. If
you're asking, hey, would they send out Hurston wald Rep
or you know, Jose Perdomo or something like that, or
Luis Gwinepa Guinepa has missed some time. He actually could
(50:42):
be a really sneaky one that could come out. But
I'm gonna stick with my three. What say you?
Speaker 4 (50:47):
Yeah? I was thinking a J.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
Smith, schav or Waldrip especially. They're gonna need some of
these pitchers they like they have. They got Schwellenbach in pocket.
But I think Morton is probably going to be retiring
next year. Are you really going to bank on a
full year of Chris Saal being healthy again next year?
Speaker 4 (51:05):
That's kind of risky.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
Maybe they want to try to make sure that, you know,
one of a J. Smith, Shauber or Waltrip is ready
to roll into the rotation next year for Morton. So
like I could see maybe both those guys even out there,
or Nacho Alvarez, they're probably expecting something, you know, for him,
for him to be a player for them next year,
and he might be out there with Baldwin and those guys.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
Going over to the Brewers. They have a lot to
pick from guys I'm going with Brock Wilkin, third baseman
who just been waiting to kind of pick up the
big power. Logan Henderson, who I caught earlier this year
missed some time. I think he would be a phenomenal
guy to be a starter here, and I think he
would dominate. Casey Hunt is another guy that's had a
great year. Send two Brewers prospects out there. Actually I'm
(51:51):
sending three pitching prospects. I'm probably going to be wrong here.
Mike Bovey, who was the older of the crew of
guys that got drafted between like Wilkin and Cooper Pratt,
and then I am putting Mizerowski just because they moved
him to the bullpen. I wonder if they could put
him in a controlled bullpen situation here. I guess the
thing that works against me as I picked three pitchers
(52:13):
from the Brewers, like high end pitchers. I don't know
if they would do that. Wilkin makes a lot of sense,
Bov makes sense. If you're asking on Cooper Pratt, it
would I just don't know if they do. It would
be kind of slick if they did Bov, Pratt, and
Wilkin together because they were all Buddies and all drafted
in the same draft class. Luke Adams is a player
(52:33):
that I think makes a ton of sense as well.
And I don't know, there's just a collection of the
guys that like, there's like ten other players where you
could make an argument and I'd be like, yeah, I
guess I get a lot of young players on that team,
but those are mine. Who do you want to add.
Speaker 4 (52:47):
And miss Gierowski.
Speaker 3 (52:49):
I think it might depend on what they do with him,
because I feel like they moved him to the pen
because they want him in the pen down the stretch
and maybe for the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (52:58):
I don't I always forget how.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
The rule works with when you call guys up. If
someone gets hurt, then they can be on the playoff roster.
It's it's kind of strange rule. But I feel like
there's a chance that he gets up on the big
league squad, and if that happened, then I doubt we
see him unless they want to try to stretch him
back out and they're like, Okay, dude, you were in
the pen just for this the end of the year,
and now we got to stretch you back out, so let's,
you know, give him a couple of three inning stints
(53:22):
or something like that.
Speaker 4 (53:22):
I could see that.
Speaker 3 (53:24):
And the only other name I was thinking of was
Braylan Pain, which I know you're gonna say, no way
because he's absolutely young, but I don't know the way
that you were telling me how study he was. I
was like, maybe they just get super aggressive because this
is the same team that had nineteen year old Jackson
Chorio up, so it's like and gave him a long
term deal. So I don't like, maybe the Brewers are
(53:46):
just going to be super aggressive when it comes to
their like potential star hitter types.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
They did move him up to a ball by the way,
I don't know if you saw Pain did play a
little bit in a ball, But no, I don't. I
think he's too raw. I think he's way too raw,
and they're it's not Fall League time for him. I mean,
anything is possible. You're not wrong about the aggressiveness, but
I would bet the no f and chance that happens
for sure with Brayln Pay and like, they just don't
(54:13):
have a history of it as well. They do lean
to like the little bit older player. They didn't cend
Churio out. They tend to send like that, like twenty
one to twenty two year old guy a lot Eric
Brown was sent out last year. I mean, I think
Cooper Pratt would kind of fill that role. That's a problem.
They have too many good players to decide from. And
then finally with the Marlins, Justin King I believe as
(54:35):
a player that is confirmed, so I'm just throwing him
out there. I'm also gonna throw Robbie Snelling, Kemp Alderman,
Dax Fulton, and Jared Serna. Those are the four players
for the Marlins I'm putting out there. They could do
anything with Robbie Snelling. I don't know if they've really
ever sent out re any really great pitchers, but I
think with the work that you might want to get done,
(54:56):
I think he makes a ton of sense. I did
not put. I guess then Ramirez on that list also
think that would make a ton of sense. I don't
think we put I think I put one catcher on
this squad, so that's someone that could maybe work multiple positions.
I just kind of leaned against it that they wouldn't
be hyper aggressive because they usually aren't, so Snelling, Alderman, Fulton,
and Cerna for me, any additions to the final Puria.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
Side, Adam Maser, perhaps Andrew Pitar. I think we could
see those are a couple of guys therere out there.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Actually, Pentar's a great one. I hadn't thought of that.
I'll tell you. Is it a general statement guys that
played in the majors. I'm gonna all like almost always
be like, no, there's just a it's a rare case
of guys that have played in the majors that then
go to the Fall League. So that's why I don't
think Major would be one of those guys. But boy,
Pentar's a really really good one. And I'll throw out
(55:47):
a small possibility Marcy and Polly could come back. It's
their same stadium. They both had bad years, Polly did
get to the majors, it's where they played before. They'd
be kind of at home. I don't think that's an
outside possibility. So that is the Puia havelenas Helena is
a wild pig, by the way, and that's it's a
bore and they're mean. They're super mean. If you've ever
(56:10):
been around them.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
Dude, I've gone boar hunting in the in the Everglades, like.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
Are all bor are they like super like? They charge
you like caveleenas?
Speaker 4 (56:18):
Are the ones that I escaped. I literally saved a guy.
I guess this is going on the podcast.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
So I was hunting with this guy client of mine,
and I was in a tree and he's walking on
the ground and this wild boards started charging him and
he shoots this thing and I'm not a hunter. I
just went because I was going with the client. And
this guy shoots this thing like three times and it
still keeps charging him. And he gave me one of
his rifles, like a four to fifty seven, and I
shot it, blew the two front legs off, legs off
(56:45):
the pig, and it still was charging this dude with
the back legs, so the whole two front legs of
it were blown off and he just kept running at
it with the back at him with the back legs,
and he had to like unload an entire magazine on
it before it dropped.
Speaker 4 (56:58):
But yeah, those things are insane, Havelina.
Speaker 2 (57:01):
They're scary. I mean, like coyotes are nothing to be
scared of, but people get scared of them. I dramatically
more scared of a haveleena than I would be a
rattlesnake because I've been around them, or Coyotes. Mountain Lion
is the that's the winner. That's the scariest one in Arizona.
But Haveleena is like number two because you usually catch
a Halina out in the middle of nowhere and you're
(57:22):
in trouble. And that team, that's a pretty tough team too.
We got i mean Cold Emerson, Leo Devrez. That team
is gonna be charging up those ranks. All right, let's
go to the Salt River Rafters. This is the home
of the Diamondbacks and the Rockies. We also got the Twins, Yankees,
and Nationals. We've got a big old crew there, starting
with the Diamondbacks sending out some players they have done
(57:43):
it before. Tommy Troy is obvious. Tommy Troy has missed
so much time, he's struggled. He played out here a bunch. Yeah,
Tommy Troy definitely makes sense. I'm also gonna send Drew Jones.
Hat tip to Drew Jones has really bounced back from
what looked like one of the most disastrous picks to
be coming back to like a legit prospect hitting for
(58:04):
average and power speed. They've kind of fixed his swing.
I think it makes a ton of sense for him
to be out here. Also going to send out Geno Grover,
who's missed significant time, got up the double A. He's
the quintessential type of player, Uman Lynn and Dylan Ray.
I have five Diamondbacks in here. I will admit that
is a pretty like strong talent pool. It's not that
(58:26):
they haven't done it before. They'll they'll send I mean,
Lawler played out here. They've sent out some big prospects,
So I'm a little bit tenuous sometimes about giving all
these big prospects to come out. But I think there's
so many other players that were either just drafted or
are lower levels. I don't know that they would want
to send out jan sol Luis or Christopher Torren or
any of those guys. And like del Castillo is up
(58:49):
at the majors. So I actually feel pretty confident about
this list with the Diamondbacks, with these players, and that
would obviously Drew Jones and Tommy Troy would be some
big names for them. Anybody you want to add, or
obviously just well.
Speaker 3 (59:01):
I'd thinking about I was thinking Lawler might be back there,
but he's in the majors now, so he came back up. Actually, Yeah,
and then Christian Mayna only three innings in the majors,
so I don't really think that this discludes him. Yeah,
and he's still pretty young, like he's still twenty one
and has spent a ton of time like he was
twenty eight triple A.
Speaker 4 (59:20):
So I think that he's a good candidate.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
Another one, Landon Simms. You know, like they do like
to send out some of their good pitchers, so you
know that's not out of pocket. I'm gonna go kind
of big on one of these. Cole Well, this is
the one cole Kerrig you know, had the issues earlier
this year, a little bit of time weird. I think
they would want to keep their hands on him a
little bit longer. Yeah, and Cole Krek is also getting
(59:44):
closer to the majors. So from a finishing school aspect, absolutely,
Ryan Ritter is one of those names that makes a
ton of sense. They like to send out middle infielders,
Gabrielle Hughes, Kyle Carros a little bit older from the
draft class. And I'm just gonna go with this. That
rumor pool that was throwing out, you know a couple
of college players that could go out. I'm gonna throw
(01:00:04):
Charlie Condon at you guys. I think that would be
hyper aggressive from the from the Rocky standpoint, at least
from him just being drafted. But they've also sent him
out to affiliate ball. There's some weird SEC stuff that
everybody I told you guys about, like home ballparks and
SEC and pitch maybe knowing what's coming and stuff like
that that I don't know. I felt like the SEC
(01:00:24):
guys have gotten a little bit more pushed this year.
I just don't think it would be crazy for the
Rockies to do it. So if there's a rumor that
a few college players could be sent out, I am
going to send it because it is their home ballpark.
They can control it. He can be out in the outfield.
I think it makes a ton of sense. I'm building
a powerhouse over here with this team. But Karen Condon,
(01:00:45):
Ritter Hughes Caros, anybody to add or do you firmly
disagree about Condon?
Speaker 4 (01:00:50):
No, He's on my list, so I'm right there with you.
Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
I was also thinking, Zach Veen, perhaps it might be
might need a little finishing off here Adel humidor and
fix in.
Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
He would be a return. I just want to point
out Veen did already play out here, but he did
miss so much time. I could see that happening.
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
Yeah, and then pitching wise, I was thinking Bradley Blaylock,
we might see.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
Okay, yeah, I mean I sent Gabrielle Hughes. Blaylock would
be one of those. They got a couple names. They
do tend to like they might focus a little bit
more on relievers, so we might not get any of
those guys. But that's a pretty aggressive list. And again
I am trying to be careful because arizon A follague
with such a disappointment of talent they sent last year.
I'm sending stronger talent and this team is getting big.
(01:01:34):
I got some big names on this team. The more
I look at it, because we're going to the Twins,
I believe Gabriel Gonzalez has been confirmed. I just want
to throw that out there. CJ. Culpepper, I think is
another one of those pitcher and Emmanuel Rodriguez is just obvious.
I'll just give you insight. I don't actually know like
I know you guys. I know some players, and I'm
(01:01:56):
not telling you that I do know one player on
this rock that is confirmed. But it's not Emmanuel Rodriguez
that I know. But oh my god, he's missed so
much time over the last two years. Send him, absolutely,
send him the thing that's working against this. I am
realizing I'm sending out a lot of outfielders like Drew Jones,
Carrig Condon, a Manor Rodriguez, and Gabrielle. That's five outfield
(01:02:20):
that's not going to work because I have two more
outfielders that are coming. So I'm gonna be wrong in
what outside. If they could DH, like Condon could just
come in DH, or Rodriguez could come and just DH
the twins.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
You know, Kesel was obviously a guy to think about.
I would love to do it, but I just figured
they're not going to send out stud upon stud. It
might come down to Keesel versus Rodriguez, and kes would
make more rosser.
Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
He's not going to be able to unless say, just
I mean, he had Tommy John So I don't I
think or I think you have to like hit right,
oh h h.
Speaker 4 (01:02:54):
Back like a couple of months ago.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Yeah, you're right. Oh and the other one I want
to throw out Walker Jenkins just got pushed to double A.
That might pushing him to double A might be telling
us they don't need the AFL. This is the extra work.
But that's a possibility. So I laid it down there.
What do you think? Who else are you adding to
this list?
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
Connor Prelip, I think makes a ton of sense, and
then Markorea maybe, but I think pre Lip just makes
so much sense because he just got healthy and he
needs to build up.
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
So that's a good one. And that's a guy that,
like I really liked early on, hasn't at the inning's
only twenty three. Good, very good call on that one, Yankees.
This is why I might really struggle with this team.
Spencer Jones. I am sending out Spencer Jones. We struggled
with the batting average. He almost came. I was told
last year to the Arizona Fall League he didn't get
(01:03:42):
an aggressive push up finished in school. Yeah, they've sent
out Jason Dimingez, Spencer Johnes. If I had to bank
on Spencer Jones versus Emmanuel Rodriguez and Condon, I would
have him above those three guys. And I'll also guess
I'll say, because I'm laying it on here, I don't
know that he's coming out. He's not the one, but
I got him. I got Henry Lalani, the very popular,
(01:04:05):
hyped up pitcher missed so much time this year. He's
a younger guy, but it would be an opportunity for
some innings. And Chase Hampton same thing, just opportunity for
innings to kind of get right. I guess I don't
have a great feel for the Yankees because I think
there's a lot of players that are kind of left
on the board here. There's a lot of other different
places from young levels they could send up, like a
(01:04:26):
rhetoric arius who didn't get a big push. But what
say you, is there anybody else you think is a must?
Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Clayton Peter, if he's healthy, I think is another one.
They have so many of these pitchers who are missed
time this year that like, like Hampton, Lalane, those are
all guys on my list, But I think Clayton Peter
is another one.
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
I'm trying to see if there's anybody else I want
to throw into the mix. Maybe a rock Regio would
be a possibility, And I thought they had a picture
that I wanted to Now we'll stick with that with
the list, and then Finally, with the Nationals, I'm going
with Johandri Morale, who struggled this year. Elijah Green is
the exact type of player they got to get him
(01:05:05):
out here to see what they have Marquise Grissom Junior
and Jake Bennett. So I got a couple of pitchers
in there, Elijah Green, but that is inherently my problem.
I have like seven outfielders and it's just not going
to work. So I'm guessing the more I stare at this,
Condon probably is a guy on the looking out. You know,
maybe this team, maybe they could Spincer Jones could focus
(01:05:28):
on first, Morales could play some third, and then you've
got opportunities for Rodriguez, Drew Jones, Carrig Gabriel Gonzalez is
your outfield and Condon doesn't make sense. So I guess
Condon would be the one I might exit from this
total roster. Anybody else you want to add on the Nationals?
Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
Yeah, I think Brady House makes a ton of sense.
Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
He's like the last guy of that like big hitting
group that's still down and I don't think we have
a third basement on this roster, so it kind of
fits into the roster, mold there and then just tons
of picture. Oh, Robert hasselh But I.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
It would be his third year, there's no change I
gotta bring up. He would break records. It would be
the third year he's on an AFL roster.
Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
No way, they've they've got a fort He's got to
break out some time, right, I guess yeah. Uh, pitching wise,
if they really wanted to push Sakora and like get
the innings over one hundred, because he's at like eighty
five innings or something like that. So maybe if they
wanted to push him to the hundred threshold, Alex Klemy,
kid Kvali being and Kafali's been there before too, hasn't
(01:06:29):
he But he's helped, he's coming back from injury.
Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
So that wouldn't make sense.
Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
Oh, Kai Kavally, No, he hasn't. Sorry, sometimes I have
to envision. I couldn't envision him. No, Kate Kfally was
someone I kind of thought about on the list. Uh,
they have a lot of pitching options Sikora, if they
wanted to really push again, I'm trying to and I
didn't put House, I didn't put scor on. I'm trying
to be realistic with like the talent that really gets
sent out here, it's usually pretty disappointing, and it's a
(01:06:57):
lot of relievers that no one has heard of, and
stuff like that happens, So you got to kind of
balance that. That's why, like Marquis Grissom is a guy
junior that I think would make a lot of sense.
Bennett had strikeouts, but I wouldn't be shocked if like
Cavali came out in replacement. So that's a powerhouse team
that we sent it. Even if I take Condon off,
it's still a powerhouse team. Tommy Troy, Drew Jones, Vander Rodriguez,
(01:07:18):
Spencer Jones. There's some big play guys in there, but
there's gonna have to be some sacrifices because we are
sending too many outfielders out. All right, Two more teams,
the Scottsdale Scorpions. I've been wearing that hat on leading
off this year. One of the great logos. This is
the home of the San Francisco Giants. You've also got
the Blue Jays, Mets, Tigers, and Pirates all going on
(01:07:40):
this list. These were there were a couple teams that
I could not PenPoint exactly the type of player that
we were going to send out, this being one of them,
I really don't know where the Giants are going to
go with it. Two that I feel pretty confident about.
I think Bryce Eldridge. That makes a ton of sense.
Reggie Crawford came out, you know, is one of the
top positional prospects. I think mark I think Marko Luciano
(01:08:03):
was out here, like they'll send their top prospects. He's
playing first base, get more reps. Absolutely, and Mauiahuna has
missed a lot of time this year. He's been out
with this complex team a ton, so I really do
think he would come out. I'll also throw out the
opportunity maybe Regie Crawford comes back out in pitches to
try to get that pitching arsenal up. But outside of that,
(01:08:26):
I think it's gonna be a bunch of names that
aren't gonna surprise anybody. So I didn't go into other speculation.
Are you speculating we're gonna see Wizzen Hunt or Arius
or Whitman? Like what do you think?
Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:08:39):
I think weis.
Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
And Hunt makes sense because he's just pcl and abs.
Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
At the same time, he had some bad struggles this year, so.
Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
I think it makes sense fixing wise, and then Walker
Martin and Rayner Arius just didn't play, so like, I
think we need more at bats from these guys. Like
Walker Martin is finally like healthy and playing now, so
I think it would make sense, like if he finishes
the year strong, to just get him a little extra
action because he did miss a ton of time at the.
Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
Beginning of the year.
Speaker 2 (01:09:08):
Rainer would be interesting that. Actually, I don't Walker really struggled,
and I think uh Ahuna would be someone they would prioritize.
But it's a possibility. The Blue Jays, I think this
might be my worst of the teams. In trying to
project I ended up putting Charles McAdoo as a player
that they're going to want to take a bigger look at.
(01:09:28):
And I threw this out here a Rolevis Martinez maybe
because you know, he got to the majors missed all
that time for the suspension, that might make sense. I
don't have any others I will throw to you. Alex
Rodden would make a decent amount of sense. I don't
know if they would press Argin Tomala unless they could
get him every day at bats. I have a really
(01:09:51):
bad feel. A cutter coffee. Cutter coffee. Actually, I'm going
to add to my official part of the list. I
have a really bad feel for this team. Is there
anybody you feel better about?
Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Maybe Jonathan class A they traded for him.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
Maybe they want to get you know, better eyes, like
more more eyes on him. Or Adam Maco, Yesavige, they
you know, they just brought him in from college. Maybe
they want to see what he can do and throw
a few innings. It may not be full time, but
maybe they want to at least like see what he's got.
Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
Maco's been out here before, but that's a pot That
was the guy I was talking about. By the way,
the other the Padres sent out like Maco and a
few of those type of players, that's a possibility. I
do think class A is an interesting one. I yeah,
he does still have prospect eligibility. Okay, I'll give you
that one. Let's go to the Mets. Jet Williams Drew Gilbert.
(01:10:39):
I'm going big on those two. Both both have missed time.
It's been publicly stated about Jet Williams potentially coming out
here to play, and that he has returned. I think
it's obvious Drew Gilbert missed a significant amount of time
and has been on a real good hot streak. Those
make sense. I also put Alexirez just because he's stunk,
(01:11:02):
But I don't know if they send both those guys out.
And it was publicly announced, at least on Twitter. Noah
Hall picture for the Mets was coming out here, so
that's one of those relievers. So I guess I'm just
throwing one out because it's it's been confirmed. I think
you could also argue Ryan Clifford makes some sense in here.
Nolan MacLean is kind of a two way player, I
(01:11:22):
think would make sense. And I want Jonah Tong to
come out here. I just I don't think with the
innings they would do it. Who are you going to
add behind? I mean, I'm sending out two big names
in Jet and Gilbert. Do you have another big name?
Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
I love if Tong went out there. He's already up
at double A now and he had a really good
start actually last week. Ronnie problem, Yeah, I agree with that.
Ronnie Marisio, I think is out because he needs action.
Are they are they really going to send them back
to Dominican Winter League to like make up for his
misplaying time because that's where he got hurt. Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
So I think Ronnie Marisio makes some sense too.
Speaker 2 (01:11:56):
Is he bad? Like what is his injury timeline?
Speaker 3 (01:11:59):
Uh, he should be back like it was projected that
he was going to be back like around I want
to say, when he got hurt, they were saying he
could return around like August September, and so we're kind
of there right now.
Speaker 4 (01:12:11):
I feel like he's going to be back like right
in time.
Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
And then Blade Tidwell is another one who, like he
was dominating at Double A this year and then went
up to Triple A and then ran into.
Speaker 4 (01:12:21):
Like some major abs type problems at Triple A.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
So I think that's one that they might want to
just work on him a little bit maybe again like
he's maybe he's not up the whole time, but they
just want to get some like personal work in with him.
Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
I could see that one.
Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
Yeah, it's just the innings like like sprot and uh Tidwell,
I just don't and Tong I think it's too many innings.
McClain is an interesting one just because of the two
way side of maybe wanting to focus on that. But
you know, there's a couple of big names to kind
of chew on there, and let's move to the Tigers.
The Tigers if this is semi public, so I can
say it too have I don't know if they're a
(01:12:54):
hundred percent confirmed, but I had them on my list before,
so I feel comfortable about it. But I've I've seen
some stuff out there. Jo swe Perseno. I think it's
how you say his name, the catcher, and Theyron Lizarano,
who was a Dodger, both I had on my list,
and then like like three days ago, I saw where
(01:13:14):
players that were going to be sent out. I'm also
sending out Max Clark. I we don't know one hundred percent.
I think I think the team is weighing it. I
think he could be interested in it. We've seen from
time to time he fits the timeline perfectly. I also
don't think we have a big push as far as
like what outfield, what this might be. I mean, I
(01:13:36):
guess if I have like Gilbert Ramirez him and there's
only one other real backup, it's not bad. So Max Clark.
And then I'm also sending out Kevin mcconagill. That is
me being aggressive, But you think about the history of
this team Torklsen, job Young. They do send out their
(01:13:56):
top guys. They are not afraid to send out their
top guys. Oh and I have one of one I
forgot adam to the list is Jaden Ham. That's gonna
be one of the big pictures that's coming out here,
and I've heard there's some rumors out there that that
might one might be confirmed. So that's a big list.
But I think the Tigers have been one of the
more aggressive packer Parker Meadows. I mean, they send out
their dudes out here. They are not afraid. They use
(01:14:18):
it to the fullest, and I'm comfortable doing that. I
think Clark is I think one of Clark or mcconagall
definitely comes out. I don't know if both. And then
I feel pretty confident about the rest of the list.
Is there anybody else you feel confident about?
Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
Yeah, so I saw online and maybe I maybe it's
not real, but I saw I saw Tyron Lorenzo hos Way,
Brasigo or Guaranteed, which you kind of mentioned, but also
shortstop Peyton Graham's right, Yeah, he was.
Speaker 4 (01:14:47):
Going to be there.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
And then the like Ham. That's I think that's a
good one. If they can get Ham and like Clark,
I saw he posted something on the socials yesterday like
peace out everybody. It's been a fun season, so like,
I don't know if that meant like, hey, I'm going home,
or like.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Well, the end of it's an end of a ball.
So for him to not get the push up means
they might play him in instructs that actually makes me
feel better about him coming. I will tell you I
forgot about the Peyton Graham stuff, so I'm gonna take
mcconagall off, and I think that's probably in favor of Graham.
So Clark, Graham, Persano, Lizerano, and Ham. I like that list.
Speaker 3 (01:15:29):
What about Job do you think it's I know he
was there last year, right, but do you think it's
possible that we see Jackson job again?
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
I don't don't. I mean, he was only here half
the time. It's again, it's not unprecedented for players to
come out here two years in a row. I just
don't think. I think it's only served if they missed
significant amount of time due to injuries that they have
to fix it. I don't know if he loved being
out here, he wouldn't be at the same facility. This time,
(01:15:56):
the Tigers are usually actually in Salt River, which as
more data that they might like. I just don't think
so he was he left halfway through. I'm not saying
it's not possible. I just don't think he comes back. Finally,
the Pittsburgh Pirates, I've got Hunter, Barco, Lonnie White, Shalen Polanko,
and Tmar Johnson. Tamar Johnson, I have felt for months
(01:16:18):
is the key type of player to come out here.
I will come back and say the only negative to
Tamar Johnson playing as I look at it is the
amount of infielders. If I have a Huna, Jet Williams
a role of his Tamar that doesn't that doesn't work.
That they're all not going to work more I'm thinking
about it, or all of this maybe doesn't make as
much sense you could do. You know, Jet and Tmar
(01:16:41):
the starters, and then you've got like a Hunah and
Graham playing the inside. I think that makes a lot
of sense. I really do. I feel pretty confident about tomorrow.
I feel very confident about Barco, Lonnie White fits that
mold of player, and Polonko. So that's my list. Anybody
from the Pirates you feel really confident about.
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Jack Brandon again. I think, uh, he was out here
last year though he had a bad year, though he
needs help, and then Nick York new new acquisition, and
then Braxton Ashcraft. I think they want to prep him
to be in their rotation for next year.
Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
Uh York was out here two years ago. Again not impossible,
I think unlikely. I had Ashcraft on my list and
then I don't remember why I took him off. Yeah,
the innings are low, you know what, Uh, we might
have to readd him. You're right, like I had him
on the list and I took him off. To send
both Barco and Ashcraft, I think it would make a
(01:17:33):
lot of sense. They've also sent out like Mitch Keller's
come out here before. You know, they didn't send Skeens
or anything like that, or Jared Jones. But I think
that makes a lot of sense.
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
Again, your if I had to pick between those two
guys you just said that have been out here before,
I think York might be one if they want to
do it Nick no Zales style. But I think the
middle infield is crowded. You'd probably come out because he's
gonna play in the outfield. But I think that's also crowded,
but that's a list. I have like two confirmed from that.
(01:18:05):
I'll just let you guys know two or three that
are confirmed on that, but let us know what you
guys think about that. And then finally my hometown team
to end this out the surprise Souaros as a Cactus.
I love the logo. It's played with the home of
the Royals and Rangers, and they've also got the Guardians
Orioles and Astros, so some pretty good group here. Let's
(01:18:27):
start with the Royals. I'm gonna give you some of
the low names, and then i'm gonna give you one
of the big things. Austin Charles. He's had a bad
down year, massive incredible talent. He's got to come out here.
Javier Vaz was someone I thought would come last year.
He has not moved up too many levels. Seems blatantly
(01:18:47):
obvious one of if not both Ben Caderna or Frank Mazacado.
And then the big push like the Condon. Jack cagleone
I think is a candidate to come out. I've seen
some massive struggles in his swing and I think they
might want to work on it. I think they would
be willing to be aggressive on the Adbats, especially if
(01:19:10):
you're gonna push him up to the majors in the
near future. Maybe they give him a rest. But I
just had this feeling I feel better about Caglion than
I do Condon. So Caglione, Charles v Oz and I'm
gonna just lean on Caderna, but I think Mazacado could
be one. Is there a royal that you want to
throw into the mix or do you have some different names.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
Ad Caderna and Jack on my list. I think Carter Jensen.
They're really pushing him this year, and I think I
think he's got a good shot. Gavin Cross and Drew Beam.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Drew Beam will not I can tell you that I
talked to him. He's not even throwing, So Drew Beam
will not. Cross has been out here. So I'm also
gonna say I don't think Cross comes out. I know
for a fact Beam will not come out. I love
the Carter Jensen one, and I'm trying to see if
there's any Yeah. See, nobody else really speaks to me
on this team. There's just a bunch of younger players.
(01:20:03):
Maybe Daniel Alasquez could be the younger guy. He's missed
a ton of time that could be one up until
today on the Rangers, I had Kamar Rocker, but Kamar
Rockers going to the majors, so we'll take him off
of doing that. I've only got three names for you,
none of them are confirmed, but I've never been more
confident that Brockporter's got to go out just absolutely disastrous
(01:20:26):
lost year. It is brutal for him. And unless it's gone,
unless we don't know about a surgery, Brockporter's got to
come out here and get things right. So I feel
very confident that Porter's coming out. I'm also going to
throw out Isaac Tiger. He was a complex level pitcher
that is older that they moved up to High A.
He's only had forty six innings, but he's twenty three
(01:20:47):
years old, so I think he absolutely fits the mold.
And I'm going to go with a Ketchrie Vargas, who
has had a quietly solid season, who can plays really
kind of all around the infield. Two seventy six, fourteen homers,
twenty nine and stolen bases. I think some possibilities. Alejandro
Rosario innings could maybe be a question, but you know,
(01:21:09):
they sent out Toeyoto and maybe even that Anthony uh
and Anthony Gonzalez good years. I'm sorry, Anthony Gudiers could
be one of those players. But I bet the big
player that's on that you're gonna say that's on people's
minds is Sebastian Walcott, and I just don't think they do.
Do you have Walcott on your list?
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
You know, it'd be really interesting to me if they
had a Kejri there but not Walcott, But I mean,
I guess it's possible.
Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
I feel like they're just pushing Walcott a lot more. Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
There was one name that was missing. I had Alejandro Osuna,
who I thought could probably be there. He's had a
big outfielder. Yeah, he's had a pretty solid year and
he's only played in like he's played the lesson one
hundred games, so I feel like some more time.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
I think he was actually here before and on the roster,
but didn't fit to sho out the Fall League. So
he's one of those weird guys that they had sent
out here before. I'll be honestly, I actually think this
team has a good jillion names that they could throw
at us. I really do. Dane Aker getting right. I
think they have multiple college guys. Maybe they would. Maybe
they're the team Dylan Dryling. They might want to throw
(01:22:17):
out pitchers Winston Santos. I just decided against it. I
think it'd be kind of cool if they sent out
like Rosario and Porter, like two top ish pitching prospects.
But I just have Tiger Porter in Vargas. There's a
lot of possibilities here. Going to the Guardians, I've got
Khalil Watson, them sending with Parker Messik, Cooper Ing and
(01:22:39):
P D. Halpin. Those were the Guardians that I ended
up deciding on. I feel like they're not typically hyper aggressive,
so I'm obviously leaping leaving off Travis Bazana, which I
think people would want. Churio was banged up, Ralphie Velasquez.
Maybe the two I didn't do, which might be wrong
(01:22:59):
on held Noah and Cjkafis, those seem like really likely ones.
I just feel like the Guardians are going to disappoint
us with who they sent out. Where are you at
on this? I know probably the Louder and Bazan are
at the top of your mind.
Speaker 4 (01:23:13):
Yeah, I don't think Bazana.
Speaker 3 (01:23:14):
I think the louder like has to, even though, like
I feel like if it was up to them, they
wouldn't resent him.
Speaker 4 (01:23:20):
And I mean, I mean if I feel like.
Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
If it was up to them, he'd be in the
majors even though they're It took them for forever to
promote Manzarto, but I think that he just missed so
much time that they need to get him as much
playing time.
Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
As possible as long as he's healthy. As we mentioned
in the.
Speaker 3 (01:23:34):
Last podcast, he got hurt again. So I feel like
whenever he's healthy, they just need to get him at bats.
Because he's not healthy enough to get at bats. It's like, okay,
you're finally healthy, Like we need you to face pictures,
so like let's just do it. So I feel like
as long as he's healthy, they almost have to. They
don't even have a choice in it. Ralphie, I think
I had him on my list. I feel like he's
(01:23:55):
struggled a little bit since moving up and they kind
of need to, I don't know, try to try to
suit if they can get him ready for next year
and then Joey Can'tillo.
Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
I think.
Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
That's actually that's a sneaky one. But I think he
also got to the majors, but you know he that's
a sneaky I'm not throw a sneaky one at YouTube. George
Valera Triple A really been slowed, still hasn't hit the majors,
has played a lot of winter ball, but never goes
to the AFL. That could be one that's out there.
I think this team is incredibly hard to figure out.
God knows what they would do. I'm laying on the
(01:24:28):
super conservative side of what they do. I didn't send
out any big names, but like the latter, the Lotta
had some weird stuff. When here there's a weird incident
that was out here. He didn't seem to like me.
I'm not saying that he wouldn't then they wouldn't push it,
But like, I don't know, if they gave him a choice,
I bet he would be like, nah, I'm good, and
maybe they would want to see. Maybe they'll they want
to see like what Valera does out here, because you
(01:24:49):
got a couple of these Triple A outfielders. But you're
not wrong. The sentiment is right. Kfus and Geneau look
out for they would be likely two more teams, the Orioles.
I'm sending out Enrique Bradfield, Creed will Williams, Louise da
Leon and Judd Fabian. Dylan Beavers was one hundred percent
a thought on this list. They got a couple guys.
I think that just make a ton of sense. Dylan
(01:25:10):
Beavers was one of them. There's someone else, maybe it
was Brailan Tavera, who once I think was on this roster.
But Enrique Bradfield, I think they got. They got to
send two outfielders out because they have so many, and
I leaned on Bradfield and Fabian.
Speaker 3 (01:25:24):
What say you, I think vance Honeycutt. I had honeycut
and Beavers for myavulars. And then I also threw out
there Louis da Leone, Trace Bright and Griff o' ferrell.
Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
But yeah, but you got too drafted. So you think
they're gonna send out two players they just drafted.
Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
I think that they very well could because they didn't
really have They didn't really have issues with development or injuries,
And like my mind automatically goes toward like, Okay, who
needs polishing off, who needs fixing? And then who did
they who did not get enough at bats or or pitched,
and so like a part of that is like, Okay,
(01:26:03):
well they didn't really have many issues with their minor
leagues is here, so it's like, who, what are they
going to do? Then just lean to the college guys
and get more action for them.
Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
If the rumor's true that we see more college guys,
then I think this makes sense. Then I think like
sending multiple out would be a precedent that that's never
been done. But if they were like a Honeycutt was
one of those guys, like, I could see them maybe
not sending out a Fabian or something like that in
favor of but it would all probably be about you know,
(01:26:32):
what do we really see from this draft class and
how it's changed the final team in here. The Houston Astros.
Louis Bayaz's actually missed some time as of recent I'm
sending Louis Baya's out here with UH with Matthews, Michael Nor,
and TREYE. Dombrowski. I had to go back and relook
at my list here, which they've always been pretty decent
(01:26:56):
about the prospects that they send out, like they send
out the sends and stuff like that. But I think Bryce,
Matthews and Luis Bias would be two aggressive pulls that
I'm in for. I also think they will send out
a couple of pictures Michael nor K and O R
R is the picture that I feel relatively confident about.
What say you who who's missing from this list?
Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
I agree on Bryce Matthews. I've got Jacob Melton on
my list. Walker Janick need to catch her here. Miguel
Ulula Ulula, I think you saw you say it here.
Speaker 2 (01:27:26):
He was here last year?
Speaker 4 (01:27:27):
Oh was he? And then and then I got a.
Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Yeah, a blue bye kind of thought about. See. The
only problem that you like really in the projecting of
this is like you say, Melton and Janic those are
one two on pipelines like rankings, I have Matthews and Bias.
That's what's tricky about this. No team is ever going
to send out their top four prospects to the Arizona
Fall League, So it's like it's more likely that one
of those guys gets sent out or two, and then
(01:27:51):
you kind of go down that list. That's kind of
the trick about this. Melton I think is tricky. Janek
is super interesting, but again he was just drafted. And
but what is open in this is like I didn't
really do a lot of catcher in surprise, so I
don't have a good feel for the catcher, so anything
can happen. But there's some big powerhouses. Luis Baiaz, Jack
(01:28:12):
cagleone would be on that list. That's what we have
in surprise, Ladies and gentlemen. Those are our AFL prediction rosters.
What do you guys think? Where are do we get wrong?
Who's a player that you like? There is a rumor,
they are all rumors at this point that the rosters
are going to be released this week. We'll see if
it happens. If it does next week, we'll do an
AFL breakdown roster, and then we will break down the
(01:28:34):
end of the season. If it's not next week, we
will break down the end of the season and then
we will react to it. But some are saying that
the Arizona FA League rosters might come out this week,
But I think there will be changes as players are
trying to be informed and whatnot. Are they going to
go or are they gonna come off? Teams are still deciding
this stuff. You know, bring a guy up to double A,
maybe a guy up to triple A to finish out
(01:28:54):
the season. You never know. It's crazy stuff. It's a
ton of fun. Make sure you guys are locked in here, Tim,
and I'll be talking about it. I'll be having tons
of breakdowns. I will be doing this stuff on Twitter
and I'm gonna be out there. So if you come
out to the ears of a follow any capacity, come
and find me and say hi, Say hi, do you
talk some ball? Love to do it, and you're gonna
just see me just chipping away at the Arizona Fall
(01:29:14):
League all year long, and we'll be talking about the
stock up and down of all these players. That's kind
of the big key to it. So there you go, Tim,
Fantasy ase Ball. I saw you just did. I think
it was maybe your final prospect report over on Fantasy Pros.
What's the plan over the next month. You're gonna be
calculating the scores and what's going on.
Speaker 3 (01:29:34):
Oh yeah, as soon as the season ends, I have
to start doing my f score work. But I'm gonna
I'm gonna try to work on the formula. I always
do updates and one of the things I mentioned for
my f scores, which is more for like redraft leagues
or like for next year value only, but I do
use it for like prospecting because I have like equations
(01:29:54):
in there that kind of translate from like minors to
major leagues like what like kind of like deviations of
what you would run into for like decreasing production for
different levels when each guy goes up to different levels.
But I'm going to be factoring in like a beta
this year, so I've got to figure out how to
get my beta in there, which if you're a stock trader,
you know what beta is is basically the volatility of
(01:30:17):
each player.
Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
So I'm going to try to try to create a statistic.
Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
And try to create a prospect volatility mark you're an
insane person.
Speaker 4 (01:30:25):
Not just for prospect but for all players.
Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
But it's going to be volatility for anyone who's going
to be drafted next year basically.
Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
So we'll see how that how this comes.
Speaker 2 (01:30:34):
You're mad man. Now when you can't come out to
the AFL, you're gonna be doing crazy, crazy man work.
So there you go. Make sure follow him over at
Fantasy ace Ball, follow me at is it the Welsh
doing all my stuff over at Fantasy pros as always,
And yeah, like I said, it's gonna be a little
transitional here. The next two definite planned episodes are to
end out the season and AFL preview there then might
(01:30:55):
be like one off, but yeah, I don't know if
I'll be able to be tempted to take any off
as there and a fall league comes close. October seventh,
the season starts up and we will have lots of
speculation on all the prospects and where to take advantage of.
It'll be a ton of fun and I'm thinking about
maybe even putting together a little AFL game that we
can do. So make sure you're subscribe to the podcast.
Off Season Work is our end season work for Tim.
(01:31:16):
I'm Welsh. We'll talk to you next time. Right here,
I'm Prospect one my friends
