Prospero's Staff: A Utopia
This podcast consists of the first three chapters of a new utopian novel by Thomas White. A 21st century woman awakens 2,000 years in the future with no memory. She's told she's either trying to stop a group of time-traveling terrorists from changing history—or she's one of them! Written in the spirit of Ursula LeGuin's The Dispossessed: An Ambiguous Utopia, the book combines engaging science fiction with serious utopian speculation. The story is set in 41st century "Nauset" (Cape Cod) and "Atlantis" (a new continent), with 21st century flashbacks to Cape Cod and Los Angeles. Chapters 1-3 are complimentary.
