In today's episode of Psych Talk I speak with Dr. Barb Minton, PhD, licensed psychologist about the healing power of music. Dr. Barb starts our discussion by talking about neurofeedback and what neurfeedback can be used for. We then discuss her interest in the intersection of music and neuroscience and how music can impact our physiological and psychological states. Dr. Barb then discusses what neuroscience informed music is how it impacts our nervous system, and then benefits of listening to such music. We also discuss her current project Calm the Storm, which blends the healing power of music with neurobiological research. Dr. Barb ends the episode by providing words of advice for anyone interested in utilizing music to help with their overall wellbeing.
