Speaker 1 (00:01):
Guess who's gonna see
Wu-Tang Clan live in concert,
backstage passes, front rowseating, greatest rap band of
all time, yours truly, at theDickies Arena.
Now I won't be doing comedythere, not this time.
That's a goal I'm working onfor something down the road.
(00:22):
But yeah, this couple Fridaysfrom now Friday the 13th June,
the 13th, wu-tang Clan is goingto be in Fort Worth, Texas,
dickie's Arena, and I have gotmy ticket.
I don't really know anybodythat's going to be going.
I'm sure, indirectly, I mightbump into somebody.
(00:43):
I highly doubt it.
You know it's an arena, but I'mpumped.
I'm sure, indirectly, I mightbump into somebody.
I highly doubt it.
You know it's an arena, but I'mpumped, I'm excited.
And it's my favorite rap groupof all time.
Favorite rock group of all timeis Queen.
Why?
For the exact reason.
Queen is like an ensemble ofmultiple different people.
It's extremely unique andsimilar to an actor that has a
range of emotions, like in,similar to an actor that has a
(01:04):
range of emotions.
Queen has a range of songs.
Wu-tang Clan very similar, different, but similar.
Right, they have slow songs, they have fast songs and the
type of music is completelydifferent.
There's a great series on aservice called Hulu I'm sure
(01:25):
you've heard of it, or at leasthave it maybe and it's Wu-Tang
Clan the origins.
And it's interesting becauseyou've got like these nine
people right.
They came from different partsof New York who hated each other
, who fought each other, whoshot at each other literally
with guns and stuff, and theymanaged to make a diamond.
They managed to.
These guys are so dedicated.
(01:47):
They literally broke into andessentially, uh, held hostage a
radio, uh, a disc jockey rightTo force them to play their
music.
And they were so confident intheir skillset that once they,
they broke into this radiostation and essentially again
held uh, the disc jockey andthis group of people hostage.
(02:09):
They forced them to play theirmusic, all right, and they
coerced them to do it.
And when they did it, all of asudden they realized how
brilliant and how great theirmusic was.
And only because they likedtheir music they didn't press
charges against them.
That's amazing.
Imagine you being so dedicatedas an athlete that you were to
break into Yankee Stadium, right, you'd be like, listen, I'm a
(02:31):
great pitcher, you know what Imean.
Like imagine the dedication, the belief but, more importantly
, the truth, and between thecreativity of taking a metal
pipe and banging it up against ametal trash can in New York
just to have a weird sound on asoundboard and incorporating
flying kicks and kung fu in yourmusic.
(02:53):
It's amazing.
That's exactly what they do.
They're nothing but amazing.
And when I hear them, it'sinspiring Because, again, making
comparison to Queen Queen wasthe only I mean think about we
will, we will, rock you.
Okay, you got people stompingon their feet and clapping as a
part of the song.
(03:13):
That has never been done.
It's something so small, something so simple, but never
has it been done before.
Wu-tang Clan also has so manyfirsts as well, and they were so
brilliant.
Each one individually broughtsomething together.
All nine of them wereessentially rapping or singing
or doing whatever together as agroup.
Sometimes, when it was like asolo act, one of the guys they
(03:37):
also ventured off into their ownindividual careers.
But when they're on stage as agroup, as the Wu-Tang Clan right
, one guy would be rapping andthe rest of them would just be
(04:07):
like uh, it was kind of likewatching bees in a high, like
swarm together and move around.
It was just even in thebackground.
It's just beautiful watchingthem.
Uh, uh, just move back andforth and just rapping and being
in their element.
Um so, man, I'm extremelyexcited.
Uh, I'm really pumped up.
I cannot wait to go to thisconcert and I'm sure, if not
making friends, I'll havefriends.
For the moment, you know what Imean, but, uh, it's going to be
tremendous and I'm excited.
I am so pumped up and I couldnot be happier about it.
So, anyway, this is just ashort one.
Again.
All these episodes are just, you know, great moments in life
(04:32):
or questions of the mind, and soforth and so on.
But as of now, this is a greatexclamation point in the
universe and I can't wait to bea part of it.
So next goal is doing comedy inDickie's arena, but that's a
different beast which I'mworking on slaying.
All right, guys, I hope youhave a beautiful day.
Wu Tang forever.
(04:52):
This has been Joel Dunn.
Check me out.
Peace.
