Forget everything you think you know about mental health awareness months. This raw, unfiltered take cuts through the noise to deliver hard truths about what real mental strength looks like.

Mental fortitude isn't built through sympathy or designated calendar dates—it's forged through daily discipline, controlled chaos, and relentless self-improvement. Drawing from military examples like Navy SEAL training, we explore why physical prowess means nothing without mental toughness, and why some of the strongest athletes fail BUD/S while seemingly average candidates succeed.

The path to genuine mental strength follows a simple but demanding formula: become 1% better every day. After 100 days, you're 100% improved. This compound effect transforms ordinary people into extraordinary ones. Physical training—boxing, jiu-jitsu, pushing your body to its limits—isn't just about building muscle; it's about developing the mental calluses that carry you through life's toughest moments.

Like Mike Tyson's fighting style, true mental resilience comes from controlled chaos rather than perfect calm. And just as airplane safety instructions direct you to secure your own oxygen mask before helping others, you must build your own strength before attempting to support those around you. The strongest among us don't seek validation or permission; they make decisions, learn from them, and keep moving forward.

Two years from now, you should be able to look back at your current self and recognize how much stronger you've become. That's not just mental health—that's the warrior mindset that separates the strong from the weak. Subscribe now to continue the journey toward becoming the savage you were meant to be.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
So apparently the month of June is supposed to be
men's mental health month.
You know what?
Mental health is a seriousproblem and I think it's great
they actually dedicate awarenesstowards the crazy stuff that
guys go to and go through forone whole month, subtracting the

(00:23):
fact there's 11 more months ofthem.
But yeah, if you're a guy outthere and you have something on
your chest and a burden, if youknow my phone number personally
and this goes for any guy outthere I'll even put my phone
number out publicly.
If you ever feel like you needsomebody to talk to, okay, just
scroll down and when you see myname, keep scrolling past my

(00:46):
name.
You whiny little shit.
Okay, be tough, don't worryabout all this mental health
crap.
This is such a listen.
You know it's called mentalhealth.
You got to be healthy yourselfmentally.
Okay, you don't need a month,you don't need a day, you don't
need a week.
You know what you got to do.
You got to get up in themorning and you got to get after

(01:06):
it.
Okay, you got to push harderevery single day, and every
single day you got to be 1%better and guess what?
In 100 days, you're 100% better.
You're a better version ofyourself when somebody is
freaking out and you're in anemergency room and there's the
doctor, be the doctor.
Being a man, being a guy it'snot about being a guy.

(01:35):
It's about being cool-headed,calm and collective.
It's about being violent whenyou need to be.
It's about winning wars andbeing number one.
You don't have to be a guy tobe number one, and you don't
have to be a guy to have greatmental health or bad mental
health, but you have to be asavage, okay.
There's only two kinds ofpeople in the world, and it's
not guys and girls.
Okay, it's strong and weak andyou have a choice.

(01:57):
Are you going to be weak or areyou going to be strong?
Navy SEALs okay, it's not theirphysical toughness that makes
them tough, it's their mentalstrength.
Okay, that's why they have studathletes that don't pass BUDS.
Okay, buds is the basicunderwater demolition SEAL

(02:18):
training.
And yeah, listen, you don'thave to be a Navy SEAL either,
but you do have to be calm andcollective.
Stop trying to ask people forverification on what you should
do in your life.
Take your feet, look at theprints made behind you every
single day and keep drivingforward.
Okay, make your shadowsomething behind you, not in

(02:40):
front of you.
Don't second-guess yourdecisions.
Be analytical, be strong and betough.
Okay, I hate all this whinylittle crap.
I hate all this whiny littlecrap about needing support and
stuff like that.
You know, if there's ever anemergency situation in an
airplane and you're supposed tobe taking care of your like

(03:01):
dependents or something likethat, the first person you put
the oxygen mask on is yourself.
Why Comes back to being strong.
You got to be strong.
You got to be calm.
You got to be collective.
Okay, chaos doesn't ruleanything.
Mike Tyson might look like hewas a chaotic fighter and he was
, but it was controlled.
It was controlled chaos.

(03:24):
And if you really want to be asavage, if you really want to be
a warrior, the only way to takecare of other people is to take
care of yourself.
So, yes, mental health isimportant, okay, but you need to
exercise your mind, and mepersonally, I think the best way
to exercise your mind is toexercise your body.
Think the best way to exerciseyour mind is to exercise your

(03:46):
body.
Train jujitsu, get punched inthe mouth, learn boxing.
You have to learn how to be aphysical savage, which will
start to overwhelm your body andmake your mind stronger.
Okay, there's no such thing asa strong mind.
Without a strong body, it's nota thing.
Okay, and vice versa.
I don't mean strong as far asphysically.

(04:08):
Okay, you can be strongphysically and weak mentally,
but you have to be mentallystrong first.
You don't need a month, youdon't need a day.
Don't relegate this month ofJune to getting attention for
yourself.
Okay, use every single day tomaximize you being a better

(04:29):
savage than the day before.
If, two years from now, youlook back, you should be able to
kick your ass.
The version two years from now, compared to today, you should
be losing more weight, youshould be in better shape and
you should always be pushingforward.
That's how you destroy, that'show you win and that's how you
succeed.
This has been Dewell Done.

(04:51):
Be a savage.
I'm out.
Peace.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
