I cannot wait to get into everything we have onthe agenda.
We've got the tee-off report with Buttsy.
We're taking a different angle with the tee-offreport tonight.
You'll see what I mean in a second.
(00:33):
We've also got a Q-school update from Mr.
Brent Grant.
We've got the Hero World Challenge recap.
We've got a little bit of the Saudi PIFtournament that took place.
I know I didn't quite put that in the notes, boys, but I want to cover that really quick as
well.
And then we've got the golf GOAT debate.
I think it's time that we start kind of listingout who our guys are that we believe are the
(00:56):
greatest of all time.
And we'll get into a whole debate around that.
And then we've got the upcoming Grant ThorntonInvitational.
That's this week.
Different formats there.
And then we've got some LIV Golf news perusual.
We always end it with the absolute best topicin the world, which happens to be LIV Golf.
Trent golfer mentions that we are off thewagon.
(01:17):
We sure are with a gift from our friends overat Johnnie Walker, some Johnnie Walker Black
tonight.
Buttsy and I are drinking that.
You know, Brent's got the stogie going.
Getting there in a minute.
That's weird.
He never smokes cigars.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
He really does.
He looks really cool, though.
I mean, probably the coolest.
(01:39):
Yeah.
When it
comes to cigars.
Well, Buttsy, I don't have the whiskey.
So it's like a it's like a halfway kind ofthing.
It is kind of a halfway thing.
Half chub.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You need to see the half chub too.
Well, I will say if you guys will allow me theAmerican cigar.
Yeah.
From J.C.
Newman, all American, 100% tobacco wrapper, plastic that it comes in.
(02:04):
All of it.
100% America.
One of the best cigars in the world.
I heard
that's fantastic stuff.
It's woven with, I think, three strands ofThomas Jefferson's real hair in every cigar.
Exactly.
Actually, it's his, actually, it's his, his,his taint hair, to be exact.
Gotta love some good taint hair.
And I gotta tell you, folks, we've got, youknow, our usual sponsor in Swannies.
(02:27):
So, make sure to go over.
I've got, underneath here, I've got the goaton.
It's the tiger goat, and it's a great one.
So because we're gonna be talking about GOATsas well.
Now here's the thing, folks.
So Swannies Golf, head on over there and go toswannies.co.
(02:47):
Right now, they're giving 25% off to everybody, but make sure to just throw in there the little
promo code, pull hook golf 25 at checkout for25% off your entire order at swannies.co.
And here's the thing, folks, you know, we'vebeen talking a lot about let's really pick some
(03:08):
brands that we really wanna be a part of and, let's get after it.
So, we've got some big news, some breaking newsaround sponsorships.
We've got a brand new sponsor coming into town.
And this is this is big, folks.
This is very, very big.
I'm trying to share my screen, so bear with meas I'm trying to buy some time.
(03:33):
Devereux Golf.
Oh, okay.
Devereux Golf, folks.
Buttsy's got it on right now.
Look at that.
He's shaking his ass over there.
But Devereux Golf and I've got it on as well.
So I've got on the out of bounds knit jacket.
This thing is sick, but this is a localPhoenix, Arizona.
(03:56):
Show us the jacket, bro.
Look at some of the—well, hang on a second.
Before I show off here my own gear, folks, thepromo code for Devereux Golf is pullhookgolf20.
You're gonna get 20% off everything at DevereuxGolf.
Now, Devereux, there's a lot of debate aroundhow do you spell this thing?
How do you say it?
(04:17):
First of all, it begins with a D.
There's three E's.
Okay.
So it's Devereux and then an X at the end.
So
And I gotta tell you guys, I am absolutelyjuiced about this sponsorship partnership,
whatever you wanna call it.
(04:37):
We are down with that because this, I mean, check this out.
This is fresh.
And by the way, Buttsy and I were in theretoday.
And I'll tell you right now,
Thanks for the invite,
the stuff.
Well, you're in California, my friend.
So I
was flown over for that.
Come on.
We, I went through and I was just like, holyshit.
(04:58):
This is—this is my jam.
I absolutely love this stuff.
So folks, make sure to support the podcast.
Go over to devereuxgolf.com.
Spend some money for the squad, and you're notgonna be disappointed at all.
This stuff is absolutely fresh.
The new drops are so sick, dude.
It's so sick.
(05:19):
Cardigans.
God, I gotta pull out that cardigan here in alittle bit and toss that on.
Maybe—maybe for the mess up the hair, Matt.
Keep.
You know what?
It's funny.
I was gonna throw it on.
I'm gonna throw it on a little bit later.
Okay.
Keep the hair.
Keep the hair.
I'm gonna keep the hair going so that theladies stay tuned in.
But this hat is gonna be going on.
And again, we're going local.
We're—we're going local with our brands.
(05:41):
W—w Devereux Golf is here in the Phoenix areaor Tempe, I should say.
And, absolutely love it.
So we're pumped up about this new partnershipand sponsorship heading into 2026.
Yeah.
Look at this thing for the ladies, dude, or forthe dudes.
I mean, look at that, dude.
Little bag.
(06:02):
Oh, that's great.
Hey.
Keep your steroids in there.
Yeah, man.
Keep my Equipoten tablets in there.
I'm just a big old cow ready for the milking.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
So that's what we got going on right now.
Again, more to come around DevRel Golf as wemove into 2025 again, absolutely pumped up
(06:26):
about that.
And if you're in a golf shop, try golfer, makesure to get DevRel Golf into the golf shop
because we're going to be pumping this up herelocally and we can't wait.
We can't wait for more episodes, more things tocome around that.
And now, here you go.
We've got Truck Call for saying good stuff.
(06:46):
Congrats.
We appreciate it.
Well, let's get it on.
It's always amazing to see how many clothingcompanies there are, but there are a few out
there that really set themselves apart.
And, I think DevRel does a good job ofbalancing kind of, like, the modern-day look
with a little bit of the old-school flair anddoesn't, you know, they don't go full Malbon.
(07:10):
You know?
They don't go, like, full LA hipster, but theydo have, you know, little sprinkles.
I love the jacket.
That jacket's incredible.
That's that
is awesome.
Dude, you should see the other one I've got.
I mean, shoot.
I'll probably have to wear that one on the nextepisode.
I can't give it all away right away.
Oh.
Man, the other jacket that I have as well fromtoday, it looks like it is straight out of
(07:34):
Cobra Kai, and my wife already saw it.
And she's like, I want that.
I'm like, you can't have it.
She tries to steal everything.
So I was like, I gotta wear it on the show atleast once before you can start stealing it.
Till death do you part in all your sweaters.
Absolutely.
And jackets and hoodies and everything elsethat comes along.
But, again, let's support our local companieshere in the Valley and let's keep this thing
(08:00):
moving.
So we've got the tee-off report with my manhere, Mister Buttsy himself.
Oh, shit.
Whoo.
And we've got now Buttsy.
Normally we put him on a soapbox.
We let him complain about all this shit.
However, we're taking a spin here.
Little first tee spin with the tee-off report.
(08:21):
Buttsy, my question to you is what's yourpre-round advice for golfers?
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
Where do I begin?
I guess it starts on which day of the weekendit falls on.
If it's a Saturday, if I got enough time, if Iwake up early enough, we're probably having a
(08:41):
Bloody Mary at the crib.
K?
Which means we're not driving, so Uber or get aget a wonderful ride from the missus here.
But, otherwise, I usually do tobacco onSaturdays as well.
So what that means is we're definitely gonnastop at the nearest gas station en route to the
golf course.
We're gonna pick up probably some chompers, akachew.
(09:03):
Maybe some smokes depending on how the lungsare feeling that day.
Might get some cigs.
I quit the vape thing.
Do I have any
fresh face up?
Well, we'll see.
News.
As this Johnny Walker goes down, I may not quithere very long.
So, just
get outside.
Where's the cigar?
Come on, bro.
Yeah, dude, I wish I could just smoke one inhere.
Let me tell you.
But, yeah.
(09:24):
Then you get to the golf course, and let'sthrow a breakfast sandwich in there.
Let's just throw a little something in there.
I like sausage with a flaky biscuit smotheredin cheese, and I do eat the cheese off the
wrapper.
Do you prefer a sandwich or a burrito?
Sandwich.
The burritos never treated me well.
That's turned into, I can't tell you how manytimes you're not quite to the bathroom on 9, or
(09:47):
you may know what that bathroom looks like atthe given portion plan.
And you're driving back to the clubhouse.
You have to come back and meet up because, well, you're not planning ahead.
You don't have a diaper on, and you're tryingnot to take a shit behind a bush.
Well, you fly back
to the shop.
Hopefully, you make it in time.
God forbid the stall is taken.
(10:07):
It's just a terrible take.
So no on the burritos.
God forbid.
Yeah.
Any coffee?
Any coffee going on in there?
Maybe a little I'll
do, like, Baileys and coffee or well, I
was gonna say a little Irish
whiskey, you
know, in there.
We don't start the boozing.
Let's say it's a Sunday.
Right?
And we're not we're gonna kinda hold offbecause, you know, the next day is usually a
workday, so we're gonna go down a little bit onthe gas pedal there.
But, yeah.
(10:29):
So coffee in that case.
But then you get to the golf course.
I don't know, man.
I might hit 15 range balls if that, but I'musually grabbing 2 double transfusions.
I'm filling the cooler with at least asix-pack, some sort of self-serve, some kind.
Cool.
And maybe Johnnie Walker now.
Who knows?
I don't
know what that day would turn out like.
(10:50):
But, yeah, some get the cooler filled up.
And if there's enough time after thosepriorities are met, like I said, I'll go out
and I'll hit 10 or 15 wedges, and we'll ripright
over the tee.
I'm trying to get loose mentally andphysically.
I'm a big dude.
The booze definitely helps that in the morning.
I'm trying to assess how my stomach feels fromthe breakfast sando.
(11:13):
We gotta get all that shit out of the wayliterally and proverbially before we head to
the box.
So I like to get to the range, loaded on booze, got all my shit in the cart.
I got my smokes or whatever I'm doing that day.
And then if there's a few minutes left over,I'll hit some nugs.
Otherwise, more often than not, Brent, you'veseen this.
We're just gonna go peg it.
No.
(11:33):
I'm just gonna Oh, yeah.
That's Do
you ever do you ever hit the green, the puttinggreen ahead of you?
No.
No.
I do not believe in practicing missing putts.
I think it's the stupidest thing ever.
I think it's fucking dumb.
You know how that green's rolling after thefirst putt you hit?
Yeah.
If you're playing somewhere special, you mightblast the first one by, but I'd like to think
(11:53):
I'm, you know, a premium enough player to beable to look at it and know this is how it's
probably rolling today.
And I'd like to think that I'm gonna makeeverything every time I ever step on the golf
course.
If I go to the practice green before I playgolf and I miss four or five, and then I go to
hit three or four shorties just saying, let'swork on the stroke, knock these in, two of
those miss, I'm gonna putt like shit all daybecause what did I just do?
(12:15):
I just proved to myself that we're not puttingvery well, and we haven't even fucking teed off
yet.
So
Wow.
The fans loved it.
Yeah.
Absolutely loved that.
That's pretty much my more that's how it'sgonna go.
(12:36):
I like that.
I like that a lot.
I do have one question, though.
Sure.
So let's say it's a special Friday.
Okay.
Do you do you let's say a tee time's 11o'clock.
Sure.
Okay.
You know, it's like an October day.
You know?
What kinda what kinda shenanigans are going on?
(12:58):
Let's say you got a little game going on.
You know?
It's a foursome of guys that you know realwell.
Is there any sort of, you know, things that aregoing on before the round?
I mean, what if what, you know, what sort ofthings could the people learn from the great
and powerful?
If I have time, if it's 11, 12, 1 o'clock, andI know I got some time in the morning, I'm
(13:19):
gonna fire up the hand-eye coordination.
I'm probably gonna have about five or six WhiteClaws and play Call of Duty, to be honest with
you.
Oh, there we go.
And that first game's gonna be rough, butbefore you know it, you're getting the brain
locked in.
You're getting loose.
Honestly, I think it works, dude.
I really do think it works.
If I have time, I will play Call of Duty for anhour to an hour and a half before I leave the
(13:41):
house, and then my brain and my hands areconnected.
I will not hit range balls in that case.
I'll just, yeah.
Interesting.
I'm ready.
What about for those young guys?
And this could even go for some older men aswell where you had a bender the night before.
You're on a golf trip, let's say.
And all of a sudden, you are shaky.
You might be on the verge of vomiting to startoff the next day.
(14:06):
What's your advice there?
Because I've got a little recipe that Inormally go to in those types of situations.
So I'll literally open one eye and crawl out ofbed.
And the first thing I'll do is turn the showeron cold, and then I'll come out to the kitchen,
and I will open the closest bottle of hardbrown alcohol and take an absolute satanic rip
(14:31):
off of it.
And then I will try not to puke there.
I'll usually stand there for a minute.
And then I'll cruise back in, and I will laydown in the shower for 10 or 15 minutes and
then kinda have a little pep talk.
And then by then, that shit's hitting thecranium, and it's fucking go time.
Are you a puke and rally kinda guy?
(14:51):
No.
I don't puke.
Yeah.
I'm a
man.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So my recipe is normally as soon as you get tothe golf course, you grab a Bloody Mary.
Sure.
And you ask her to make it spicy.
Okay.
Because you want to get out whatever is inthere from the day prior.
And I don't want it coming through.
(15:13):
I don't want the vomit.
So if you gotta go use that stall and have apregame, you know, good old dump, then that's
what you gotta do.
So normally, it's chug down that Bloody Marywhile you're at the bar, and then you order an
immediate second Bloody Mary.
Yes.
And again, spicy.
And you take that on your way to the bathroomto take your deuce.
(15:35):
Yep.
And normally, by the time that you're halfwaydone, you're at the first tee and you're not
quite as shaky as you were, but you get somegood vitamins with that Bloody Mary.
You get a lot of vitamin C, you get rehydrateda little bit, and you get the alcohol in so
that your body's not in withdrawals to whereyou're shaking and so forth.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you just and you released an absolutedemonic black star shit.
(15:59):
Damn.
If you put that body in the bar and you don'thave anything in your stomach when you that's a
that's a smart play because that's all thatsalt, that's gonna basically turn into an
enema.
Like, it's That's exactly right.
I mean and
then you just just in time, you grab thatsecond one, you just go sit down in there and
camp out and
drop it.
Michael J.
Fox action out there.
And that
1st you don't wanna see it.
(16:20):
1st piece shot with that 2 iron.
You know, it doesn't quite feel as bad off theoff the end of the bat like it normally would.
You know?
But if you don't think that it's
That's another thing I would say I've learned.
Even if it could be a 310-yard par 4, supertight, everybody else sitting 5 iron off the
tee to be smart.
I am
rip driver.
I I am opening up drivers far as I can
(16:42):
and just
Wiping it, and it's probably going deadstraight.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Absolutely agree, boys.
That's beautiful.
The door shut, like, it's going to stay.
Yeah?
I gotta tell you, I might be switching to Iused to be a flask guy.
Used to break out the flask, and then I stoppedfor a while.
I might come back.
Okay.
I
got some—I don't know.
(17:03):
I know a spot that's got some pretty niceflasks.
Shinola, if you're ever perusing the internet.
The watch Shinola.
K.
Okay.
I'm gonna have to take a look at that.
Good shit.
Anyways, hold on.
I think Dylan Vaudry asked to pick his bachelorparty cigar.
(17:26):
Should we do that for him?
Why not?
Dylan Vaudry is a longtime listener, so let'sgo ahead and help him out here.
So, Brent, which cigar would you pick for hisScottsdale bachelor party cigar?
So it's gotta be a healthy size.
So we're gonna go with a—it's called a Toro.
(17:48):
That's the size of the cigar.
It's about six inches, about a 56 ring gauge.
Mhmm.
And you gotta go—you gotta go with—you gotta gowith the Padron, man.
Gotta go with the Padron Presidente.
That's a phenomenal, phenomenal cigar.
It comes in a white or red tube.
(18:08):
You know, you can pass them out.
It sounds cool when they're clicking togetherin your pocket.
You know, pass them out.
They don't look like a cheap plastic-coveredcigar.
Comes in a tube, smokes great, and I think it'sabout $25.
20 to $25.
Okay.
Not bad.
Not bad.
Buttsy, you got anything?
(18:29):
I'm not a huge cigar guy.
If I'm doing a cigar, man, it's gotta have, like, a light wrapper on it.
I'm not into, you know, the dark ones are coolfor about 45 minutes, and then it just starts
to taste like you're smoking pepper to me.
I did just get
That's exactly how some of them go.
The only ones that I absolutely love that Iwish I could just have this on order, but it's
(18:54):
never gonna happen because I was in Cuba.
And I went out and got to spend time with afarmer, like, way out who they were telling me
he had, like, three wives and, like, sixgirlfriends.
And he was this, like, 90-year-old man, andthey're like, this guy's a stud.
He would smoke in the time that I was there.
I was probably there for, like, four or fivehours hanging out with them.
(19:15):
The translator was translating everything.
This dude would roll cigars and he rolled, like, 36 for me to take back.
But we sat there and I smoked three with him.
This guy probably had 10 while we were justsitting there and he taught me that in the
morning, you dip the tip, like this part you'resmoking, into coffee, then you go to rum and
(19:40):
you dip it in rum.
And then, oh, actually, rum is at the end ofthe day.
Middle of the day is honey.
You dip it in honey.
Oh, my gosh.
So it was an unreal experience.
Yeah.
So if you ever want a trial.
Wow.
Go ahead and get a cigar, dip it in.
And by the way, like, he also taught me aboutthe darkness of the tobacco leaves and the
(20:02):
darker they are, the stronger the cigar isgoing to be and everything.
And, man, he was smoking some dark stuff, butthis dude just did not stop this little Cuban
cowboy.
He was probably about all of, like, 4 feet 8inches tall, little Cuban man,
but he was just done.
And, like, 90 years old, like, the dude wasstill, like, riding horses, going out, picking
(20:22):
leaves, and the guy is phenomenal.
Just living, just living his life.
Living La Vida Loca is what he was doing outthere.
So let's get into the Q-School update here,Brent.
Let's, let's get a little bit of, you know, youdidn't have the best experience out there this
past week, but take us through what it was likebeing out there and what happened out there
(20:48):
last week.
Well, it was obviously good to be competingagain first time in about three months.
So yeah.
Yeah.
That was a little bit of a shock to the systemto start, but got back into it.
Honestly, that golf course, Valencia CountryClub, is perfect for a guy that can basically
hit a little dinker, cut or draw off the tee,and then doesn't really necessarily have a ton
(21:13):
of speed and a ton of spin.
Greens are super soft.
Big comparison with the weather, basically.
Last year, it was 1 under was the cut, and thisyear, I think it was 7 under.
So there were guys that Oh, wow.
Yeah.
There were PGA Tour players that didn't make itthrough.
So including myself.
(21:34):
So, yeah, other than that, I was just hangingon real tight.
So, I mean, I gotta kinda like what we weretalking about.
Right?
Kinda just gotta let go and go dumb.
So one of those instances where you know, whichwhich 16 are
So one of our audience members here, James,it's up on the screen here.
I just wanna say, did we make birdie on 16, Mr.
(21:56):
Grant?
No.
No.
It played, I think it was 6 iron to 3 iron.
One of the hardest par threes I think I've everplayed.
Wow.
Actually, that's not true.
I did birdie it.
I chipped in from an egregious lie downhillgoing away, and I spun it, and it went in the
hole.
I did birdie 16.
I said there
you go.
(22:17):
So, nice birdie.
That.
Yeah.
So tough, tough week out there.
It was just a tough golf course.
What is next for Mr.
Brent Grant right now?
Well, right now, I'm playing the pro scratchout here in the desert, the plantation.
It's a really cool tournament, kind of aprivate event.
(22:39):
Oh, 16 at plant today.
Yeah.
There you go.
What's your name?
James.
Oh, Jesus.
No.
I didn't make 16, didn't birdie 16 today.
It was pretty tough.
But, there you go.
So, oh, Jimmy.
That's my boy, Jimmy.
Yeah.
There you go.
He was this Jimmy that runs the bar at theplantation.
He's the, oh, Lord.
(23:00):
Jimmy is the fucking man.
Anyways, so, did beat the shit out of the guyswe played with.
But, yeah, playing that this week, over thereat the plant.
And then, I think I'm gonna get about five orsix starts to begin the year.
So we'll be, we'll be there and, right back onthe Korn Ferry Tour keeping our card and
(23:21):
hopefully getting one of the 20 PGA Tour cardsand having a fucking blast.
Wait.
Hang on.
Take a step back.
I was reading comments there, and I heard youplaying on the Korn Ferry Tour.
So what's how does this work out?
So, because I won in 2022, I fall into acategory that essentially is like the past
(23:43):
champions category on the PGA Tour.
The only difference is because there aren't,you know, there's not 156 guys that are coming
back, you know, the next year, right, likethere would be, you know, on the PGA Tour.
They fill the field.
So I happen to be one of those people.
So, oh, it's awesome.
Yeah.
So plenty, plenty of starts, plenty of status.
(24:05):
Just gotta go out there and play well.
So we're gonna get, let's get
it done, man.
Let's get
it done.
Had some good had some good advice, last weekfrom a guy named Mike Penberthy, former Laker.
He won the won championship with Kobe and Shaq, and then, won it with the excuse me.
Won it with the Lakers again as a coach, but hebasically said you just gotta get obsessed with
(24:25):
it.
And so every day, I've been at the golf course, this week, at 7 o'clock in the gym and working
my ass off, and we'll see where
it goes.
Let's get it, Mister Brent Grant.
And we want to give a quick shoutout to DylanVodrey's sister, Samantha Vodrey, who played
her ass off through LPGA Q School, missed hercard by one, but played great throughout Q
(24:49):
School.
Shoutout to Samantha Vodrey.
We wish you would have made it, but that onedamn stroke, that is the game of golf in a
nutshell.
Oh, isn't it ever?
Yeah.
That's true.
It's, Roddy.
Yeah.
So that you're seeing Oh, yeah.
There's a chance.
There's a
big change.
Man, see, that's why I gotta ask you becauseyou and I didn't talk about this beforehand.
(25:11):
I didn't want to ask you about what wouldhappen if you did not get through Q School.
And sure enough
Well, there we go.
Now we know, Mister Brent Grant,
we're gonna see what's going on.
Back to Phoenix in January, though.
Yeah.
So open.
Here is that.
Whoop whoop whoop.
Oh, hang on.
Hang on.
Hang on.
We got we got something for this.
(25:38):
Can't wait to have you back in the Valley, myman.
Alright.
You good.
Let's keep this train moving.
Now, this week is gonna be final stage of QSchool.
So Brent, why don't you take us through finalstage of Q School and if there's anybody that
we should be watching out for?
Yeah.
I think his name is yeah.
Exactly.
(26:00):
That'd be funny.
I do imagine.
Riley, I think his name is Riley Gaines, Ithink his name is.
The kid is, like, 6-foot-1 and about 140pounds, but he's he's an absolute stud.
He's fresh out of college, killed it in firststage, and then he, and then he killed it in
(26:20):
second stage.
Two different golf courses.
He's he's there now over in Jacks.
I think it begins Thursday.
But he's my he's my pick to be I said he'd beon the PGA Tour, this coming after after this
year on the Korn Ferry if if he doesn't win QSchool.
So, shout out to him.
Shout out to my boy, David Gazzolo, for gettingthrough.
(26:42):
Yeah.
Guys are the best.
He's been around a long time, and, hopinghoping everybody plays well.
And and, basically, what these guys gotta go dois is, place in the top 40 for Korn Ferry
status and then top 5 for PGA Tour status.
And if anybody's wondering, no, there's not alot of money.
I think it's, like, $50,000 to to first, whichis unfortunate, but, hey.
(27:05):
You know, that's the way it is.
That's how the cookie crumbles.
You know?
I saw Harrison Endycott win that last year.
David Giese was on his bag, and sure enough, Iwas like, how much he make?
He's, like, $50,000.
Yeah.
That that covers expenses for the whole for thewhole trip.
I was gonna say that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then he he barely he barely got any starts, this year, and I think he had to take a
(27:27):
medical.
So, yeah, it sucks.
That goes I I hate to cut you off, but thatgoes to show you that it's just not being
utilized properly.
Like, I wouldn't have this Grant ThorntonInvitational if I was the PGA Tour.
I would make this a televised, like, you know, how the UFC has the like the teams and stuff
(27:48):
and they're fighting
The ultimate fighter.
And I just feel like this could be a huge thingwhere you've got all these guys.
You can get some intimate time with them ininterviews and so forth and make it televised
to be like the biggest thing for anup-and-comer and get to understand and learn
(28:09):
who these guys are and that they could be thenext big guy on the PGA Tour.
And it's just not happening.
I mean, I know they show some of it on the GolfChannel, but it's not
like yeah.
On a major network.
And no, it's not something that is being pushedby any means.
I mean, shoot.
I was trying to remember last year watching it.
Oh, it's an hour a day for four days.
(28:30):
That's all.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Funny shit.
No, it isn't anything.
And funny thing is, actually, I think it wassomebody told me Ted Scott or maybe it was
Scottie's dad, somebody real close toScheffler.
They flat out said that if it weren't for theKorn Ferry Tour, you probably wouldn't have
known who Scottie Scheffler was.
(28:50):
And, I mean, that's not to say that he's notincredible.
I'm not taking anything away from him by sayingthat.
But
Yeah.
I mean, he slides his feet.
Well yeah.
But, you know, so do I.
So, you know, it's but it's amazing.
You know, it's Johnnie Walker Black.
You know what else is amazing?
Johnnie Walker Black.
Come on.
Give us some of that.
But yeah.
No.
(29:11):
It's a tragedy.
But at the same time, I think what we're gonnasee here coming up in the next couple of years
is a pretty big transition, especially withwhat they're talking about with all the
creators and shit like that, but we'll get intothat at some point.
(29:31):
But, yeah, there's a lot of good players comingthrough.
Love that.
Alright.
Let's keep it moving into the Hero WorldChallenge, and we're gonna recap this really
quick.
And, actually, before we do the Hero WorldChallenge, did you guys see the three-way
playoff that took place?
And, actually, it was the highest-rated eventin terms of world golf rankings.
(29:52):
It was part of the Asian Tour, was the PIFSaudi Invitational, I believe it was called.
And we had Cam Smith, who was several shotsback, played early, comes out, shoots 62, and
gets up there on the leaderboard.
And then we had Joaquin Niemann leading theway.
And Caleb Surratt.
Guys,
(30:12):
I mean, I
am big on Caleb Surratt.
I'm gonna tell you right now, we are gonna seethat kid win at least once on LIV Golf next.
I feel like next year is gonna be the yearbecause he's still figuring out how to win and
you could see it on the last hole and so forth.
But Joaquin Niemann struggled on the last holetoo.
He hit a pull hook on the last hole leading by1.
(30:35):
Actually, him and Caleb were tied for the lead.
Surratt and you, so they were tied for thelead.
Surratt hits it in the water, tee shot in thewater, then Joaquin, who just saw that, hits a
pull hook into the shit and both of them bogeyto go into a playoff with Cam Smith who
finished earlier.
(30:55):
How early did he finish?
He finished pretty early.
I mean, it was, like, a couple hours.
Also hard golf course.
Hard golf.
It's not the easiest.
And so I played it.
They went ahead and in the playoff, all threeguys birdied, then they went back, played it
again.
And Joaquin Niemann, who hit a monster drive inthe playoff, ends up just hitting this flop
(31:19):
shot to like 2 feet.
The other guys both missed like 10- to15-footers to push it a little bit further.
But man, I'm telling you what, it is.
So well, there's two things.
Joaquin Niemann, the circadian rhythm orwhatever it's called, where, like, in a
calendar year, you have certain times of theyear to where you peak.
(31:41):
Joaquin Niemann around this time is phenomenal.
December through February, I feel like.
Yeah.
Watch out.
Presents.
Yeah.
As soon as you get to, like, April and theMasters, Joaquin Niemann starts heading
downhill a little bit.
But that being said, Caleb Surratt is gonna bea force to reckon with.
Jon Rahm is gonna be real happy about havinghim on his team this year.
(32:04):
Yeah.
I
played there.
Good thing.
I played with, I played with Caleb, in the, yeah, in Bermuda a couple years ago, and was
kinda asking him what his plans were.
I think by that point, he was still an amateur, was deciding what he wanted to go do, was still
at Tennessee, and, I mean, I knew it back then.
(32:24):
I mean, he's, you know, he's a young guy.
He's not he's not the biggest guy in the world.
He's he's but he gets it out there a long ways.
And, he's a great putter, great short game, andI absolutely I love the kid.
He's he's a good dude, and I wish him all thesuccess.
So pretty incredible.
Good for him.
Hands made out of rat fur for extra touch.
Yeah.
Surratt fur, to be exact.
I mean, the fans are just dying for Buttsy tobreak down Hero World Challenge.
(32:52):
I get so.
Wow.
We've got the Hero World Challenge recap.
Let's get into this where this obviously tookplace in Albany, in the Bahamas, an Ernie
Els-designed golf course, which I didn'trealize last week.
And then we've got the winner being ScottieScheffler shooting 25 under and beating
(33:12):
everybody by 6 shots.
And the big thing that I gotta ask you, Buttsy, you know, he debuted a new what they're calling
a saw grip.
It's basically a modified claw grip, madeeverything in the final round within 10 feet,
and he wins obviously by 6 shots.
Are we about to have the most boring year onthe PGA Tour where Scottie Scheffler just
(33:33):
dominates?
I don't know.
We said this about him when he changed putters, you know, halfway through the season, and it
was looking like he was a great putter, thenthat fell off too.
But the Ernie Els-designed golf course, I justwanna get into the Hero a little bit here.
So if this doesn't lend credence to Ernieshould be the one in charge of designing every
(33:59):
major championship golf course going forward.
Oh, fuck.
I knew he was gonna say some stupid shit likethat.
Did no.
Like, if you saw what these guys had to endureout there
It's shot 25 under par.
I know.
I know.
And that just goes to show you how fucking hardand difficult this place was
set up.
(34:20):
And if Ernie is not they the R&A should hireErnie to set up, and I know they've been
playing there forever, but I think he couldmake some changes that mirror what he did for
the Hero and the course that he designed there, and we would have much more difficult major
championship venues, to be honest
with you.
Gosh.
This now Scottie had his 7-wood going.
(34:41):
If you saw the 7-wood, he hit into 12.
Like, there's nothing like it in the world.
I think they called it his bullet shot thathe's been working on.
He
hit 7-wood?
Yeah.
He hit three or four 7-woods during the eventthat I've never seen in my life.
It looked like Tiger hitting 6-iron into thatback right pin.
It was unbelievable.
But for a golf course to be set up, probablyyou could even say that it was set up tougher
(35:03):
than anywhere that these guys have ever playedin their lives.
And to have Scottie go to the sushi grip andget through that place at 25.
I think we just saw, like, something thatshould be in the Guinness Book of World
Records.
Like, this is it's fucking crazy.
(35:24):
I've never seen anything like
I mean, he won by six shots.
I was glued to the TV the entire time because Iwas like, this
What was the color of dirt that he wore?
To eat people alive.
They've never seen a golf course set up likethis.
Sawgrass could be made out of concrete.
It doesn't compare to how that place was setup.
Wow.
Unreal take there.
(35:45):
It did blow it did blow 7 miles an hour, whichis just gale force.
Go to YouTube and type in Scottie Scheffler7-wood Hero Championship this week, and tell me
you don't get barraged in the face with five ofthe most beautifully hit fairway wood shots
you've ever seen in your life.
Nah.
7-wood is money.
It's no longer a women's club.
(36:06):
Yeah.
It's still a women's club.
Obviously not.
You could say that he dances like a woman whenhe makes impact, but
Hey.
Look
what he did.
25-under at the hardest golf course thatanybody's ever played on.
So, Brent, the question that I asked Buttsy inorder to get into this whole thing that you
missed out on is, is this going to be the mostboring PGA Tour season that we have ever seen
(36:30):
because Scottie Scheffler is just gonnadominate?
Oh, boy.
Again, did you see
what just happened?
I mean, I think the trouble with this season isit's gotta get backed up by 2026.
And the hope is that they make a lot of changesthat make it more fun in 2026.
(36:50):
But if nothing changes, if everything stays thesame as it is right now, 2025 will be a repeat
of this year, which essentially culminated tothe guys that don't say anything, go and win
everything.
No.
I did.
I did say that, you know, Scottie Schefflerbecause everybody's going nuts over this new
(37:14):
saw grip or whatever the hell that they'recalling it.
I just call it the claw because it's themodified claw grip.
They're calling it the saw.
He didn't use a driver or he didn't use a tee, with his driver, like, half of the last round.
Did you
That's because he just wanted to
make it
take on the DOD King, is what it was.
I mean, he just was like
(37:35):
driver off the ground like it was on a tee andthere was no tee.
No tee whatsoever.
He's like, I can do it better than you.
So the one thing I will say is that I've alwaysfelt like with Scottie Scheffler that it's a
mental confidence issue that he needs toovercome when it comes to the putter.
You know?
But we talked about it last year when heswitched putters and started putting great.
(37:58):
Well, guess what?
That only lasted a short amount of time.
Right.
Now he has switched grips along with thatputter, and he putted lights out.
I mean, he didn't miss a putt within 10 feetthe final round.
No.
And if you hold a spatula like he holds hisputter this week, watch how much you improve
cooking your food.
(38:20):
That's a good take.
Took you a while to get to that one.
So here's something interesting I saw the otherday.
His worst part of his game is his putting, andit's above Tour average.
Right.
Which
is above 70th, right, on the Tour.
So because he doesn't miss long putts.
That's the thing.
(38:40):
He's not a bad putter.
He misses short putts.
Well, he hits it so close all the time.
Right?
That's why the stats are skewed.
Right?
He hits so many greens in regulation.
I can see that argument.
Right?
Well, it's the same thing.
Right?
If you hit 18 greens in regulation and 2-putt75% of the time, right, you still shoot, you
(39:01):
know, 5, 6 under par, but your putting statsare gonna be terrible even though, you know,
you shot 600.
So I mean, it's but he's incredible.
I mean, nobody's gonna even sniff that forquite some time.
So I'm going back to this by Kyle over atCarpar and Guys.
Says, does Scottie play the same if he didn'thave Ted Scott?
(39:24):
And I'll tell you right now that we've had hisprevious caddie on before Ted Scott.
And he talked about it that Scott is a verytough bag.
Scott is not easy.
Scottie wants a lot of information, and heneeds to be guided throughout the round.
So Ted Scott does a phenomenal job with that.
(39:45):
Obviously, was the guy that got him over theedge, but we all saw during the, when he got
arrested before the PGA Championship, when thewhat was it?
The Saturday he had Friday.
Friday, he he had, which we'll call it?
Oh, no.
Oh, Friday.
Saturday.
Saturday, Brad.
Brad.
Brad.
(40:05):
Yeah.
Ted Scott needed to go back for what was it?
His daughter's
His daughter's high school graduation.
Graduation.
Yeah.
And so, Scottie did not play well that day.
Granted, you know, other things going on.
He's still shot under par.
Yeah.
But it was a rough day.
Yeah.
Well, the the adrenaline dump, right, aftergetting a a rough
I heard that Ted Scott, like, when the camerasaren't on Scottie, they kinda look around, and
(40:27):
Ted actually hits the majority of those shotsthat that that are happening.
That's that's not accurate.
That's not accurate at all.
Yeah.
That's not allowed.
Yeah.
I think it is.
I think he I think he's a friend.
Fake proper poppers.
What?
Propaganda.
I'm okay with
behind the camera.
(40:49):
Go off, and it goes to the next player, andthen Ted jumps in and hits it.
And nobody sees it and they yeah.
So that's one of the
nice movie that Ted Scott.
Scott is only playing probably three-quartersof the golf that's going on out there.
The rest of it's Ted, in addition to hisguidance as a caddie.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that ifthis new grip is it, because mentally, if
(41:11):
you've got confidence, it lasts for a shortamount of time a lot of times if you don't fix
the mental issue behind it.
But I'm gonna say this (41:18):
if this fixed his
confidence issue with putting, especially with
shorter putts, he's gonna absolutely dominatethis year.
Dominate more than he did this last year?
Yeah.
He won nine times.
And guess what?
He's not getting worse.
And, actually, Jack Nicklaus said it during theMemorial.
(41:39):
He said that Scottie Scheffler is not goinganywhere, and he might become that much more
dominant because he doesn't do anything overlyspecial.
He's like, his course management is extremelygood, and he does everything above average.
Yeah.
I mean, he's the best ball striker in theworld.
(42:00):
He's one of the best drivers.
His short game is one of the best in the world, and it just so happens that the worst part of
his game is still above Tour average.
So I mean part
of grip I've talked to some of the guys thatwork the Tour van out there.
His putter grip is the exact circumference ofhis big toe.
Because when he sits in a chair like the oneI'm sitting in right now and this is how I
(42:21):
heard he went to this grip.
When he puts his leg up, like, we like to sitlike this.
You know?
Can't see your leg.
He got acclimated to this grip by doing that, the claw, and then he would hold his big toe
while he sat, like, at dinner or at arelative's house for the holidays.
Mhmm.
And he went to the guys at TaylorMade, and hehad them make a putter grip that is the exact
(42:43):
circumference of his toe.
That is incredible insight, man.
You just don't get anywhere else other than thePull Hook Golf pod.
I'm telling you.
I'm telling
you.
I will say I have to, I have to say thisbecause he's a brother in Christ.
Scottie Scheffler absolutely is doing the rightthings mentally because of his faith, and Ted
(43:04):
Scott, 100% is in that same boat.
Well, yeah.
But it can't be overstated that the guy'ssingular focus comes from his faith, and that's
something that
I love that.
I absolutely love it.
Leaderboard rundown real quick.
Tom Kim, 19 under, finished the second.
(43:24):
Justin Thomas, 18 under.
JT looked good out there this week.
He did.
He did.
Akshay Bhatia's management was terrible in thefinal round.
He did.
That's JT, man.
You live by the gun, you die by the gun.
Akshay Bhatia, 15 under.
Mothermillio.
Keegan Bradley, 14 under.
Ludvig Aberg at 12.
You got Bobby Mac at a minus 11.
(43:47):
Sahith Theegala at 10 under, and then SungjaeIm and Sepp Straka at minus 8 to round out the
top 10.
And that leads us right into the GOAT debate.
Buttsy, can you give us some goat noises?
I should have plugged
in some
goat noises.
(44:16):
Enough of that.
Alright.
Here we go.
So we're gonna go.
I want everybody to list out their top 5golfers of all time starting with number 5 and
going back to number 1.
And hang on a second.
I'm gonna put on this hat.
Oh.
This
Denver hat.
Hang on.
Don't mess up the hair.
Oh, cap.
(44:37):
Oh, boy.
That's hard.
Man.
You
can't even see my eyes right now.
Yeah.
Thugged out, dude.
Badass fucking feet.
Hey.
You're looking up.
You look like a
on, Bruce.
Or something.
Yeah.
Give us give us your top 5, Bruce.
(44:57):
K.
I gotta take it off.
I'm I'm not gonna go backwards.
I'll start from the beginning.
It's like trying to get me to say my ABCsbackwards.
That's never happening.
We're gonna go
Number 5.
Tiger Jack.
Oh, you're going number 1.
Yeah.
Tiger no.
5.
Tiger's number no.
Yeah.
Right.
Number 1.
No.
(45:18):
No.
No.
No.
Tiger, Jack, Moe Norman.
Mhmm.
Okay.
Greg Norman.
Mhmm.
What's that for?
And then this last one, this is gonna sound alittle fucking weird, but, Davis Love III.
Wow.
Any reason to date those 5 guys?
(45:38):
Take us through.
Break break it down.
Why why Davis Love III at number 5?
Just the golf swing.
Just the the absolute purity.
I'm not basing it solely on finishes or wins oranything like that.
I'm just saying, like, ability to play thegame.
Moe Norman was a total crackpot, but, I mean, arguably the best ball striker that will ever
(45:59):
live.
Last off.
You know, last off, PGA Tour.
Did things with the golf ball way ahead of histime.
If he was today, he would be an absolutephenom.
He would be an absolute phenom.
He would be praised for how fucking weird hewas, and, we'd have a different story.
But, yeah, DL III, though, occupying the well,Greg Norman for the near misses.
(46:20):
Another one that if you go back and watchreruns of Greg, the ball striking is just like
it's something special.
Greatest drivers of all time.
Oh my God, dude.
Just and and just such a I just like watchinghim play.
And then again, DL3, just that long nope.
Ben Hogan.
No.
Not really for me, you know?
But he's not a theorist.
(46:41):
I think I think Hogan is the father of themodern golf swing.
I really do.
And I think a lot of people learned from whathe came up with through a lot of hard work, but
I don't put him up there in the top of the gamein terms of, yeah, how he played.
Mhmm.
Would you would you would you also have dinnerwith all five of those guys?
(47:02):
Would you sit down and have a beer with thoseguys?
Most of them.
I'd probably go to McDonald's with Moe Normanand play in the ball pit.
That's pretty good on would you get on the thesailboat thing and and and be like, oh, that's
(47:23):
juicy.
You know?
I'd take him to an amusement park and just eatfries or something.
And watch him.
Just watch him.
Just get him a couple candied apples.
You gotta
go to the you gotta go to the carnival wherethe, you know, where they throw the ball
against those, you know, the pins.
Yeah.
You know, hilarious.
I probably what about you, buddy?
Greg on an airplane or something.
I don't know.
(47:44):
Number five.
That's a great question.
Number five, I gotta go with, I gotta go withVijay Singh.
Oh.
Wow.
A cheater.
Vijay Singh, by far spray.
Yeah.
Deer antler spray, also a phenomenal guy.
Number four
He also kicked his ball back in play back inthe day.
He used to do that.
He did used to do that.
I agree.
(48:04):
But definitely, I mean, other than Tiger andPhil, you know, definitely one of the best in
the last 30 years.
But, overall, Vijay Singh at 5.
I'd go Arnie at 4.
Oh, boy.
(48:26):
I'd go Ben Hogan at 3, Jack at 2, Tiger at 1.
No.
Lineup.
The reason why I think that the hard partabout, Tiger and Jack is the level of
competition.
Jack had Jack had more seconds in majors thanhe had wins, which is obviously an amazing
(48:49):
record, but that also proves that he, you know, was was you know, didn't have as much
competition as Tiger did.
Tiger had Phil and VJ and, you know, Jim Bjork.
I mean, the guys for the last 20 years, prettyincredible.
But hard not to have Tiger at first.
But I mean, Jack had some serious competition, though.
(49:09):
He had 4 guys.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Four people.
Yeah.
I'm
just gonna say I mean, Hagen could get it backin play out of nowhere.
Sam Snead.
Yeah.
Sam Snead, most wins ever?
I mean, outside of Tiger.
Right?
Because didn't Tiger take his record?
(49:31):
They did.
There's Byron Nelson.
Iron Byron.
I mean, there's so many great golfers outthere.
So let's
not get this twisted.
You can mix and match a lot of these guys.
I agree.
I'm gonna start off.
Gonna go in the same direction Buttsy went.
I'm gonna start off with number 1, Tiger Woods, which is the GOAT.
It is the Tiger GOAT.
And folks from Swannies, I believe they stillhave this.
(49:54):
They've got it in a hoodie, and they've got itin the T-shirt.
I need the gold with the tiger stripes.
This one is pretty sick.
So that being said, so Tiger number one, I gotJack number two.
I don't think that those two are tough todebate, to be like somebody deserves to be in
(50:14):
the one and two spot.
It's a different era.
Agreed.
My third spot is Arnie Palmer.
And I'm gonna tell you why, because of whatArnie did for the game more so than his actual
play.
He was Tiger before Tiger.
Oh.
And I know a lot of people talk about GregNorman being Tiger before Tiger, but Arnie was
(50:34):
the guy.
Like, it goes Arnie for me and then straight toTiger from that point.
Like, but Jack Nicklaus with his play and hiscompetitiveness, he's number two.
So you got Tiger, Tiger, Jack, Arnie, numberfour.
Mhmm.
This might this might get a little bit twisted.
(50:58):
Oh.
Scottie Scheffler.
Paula Creamer.
Julie Inkster.
Out with it, man.
Jesus.
Harry Vardon.
He's trying to load this up here.
Oh, man.
Jones.
(51:19):
No.
I'm actually gonna go Greg Norman.
Francis Ouimet.
Oh.
I'm gonna go Greg Norman there.
Really?
And
what's crazy what's crazy is that I'm not aGreg Norman fan.
Clearly.
But if he had won the Masters two times, Idon't think there's even a debate around it.
(51:43):
Instead of choked it or instead of, like
Instead of choking it away, which granted, Iwill say this, and it's why he's not in the top
three.
I mean, what about Faldo or Gary?
Faldo's up there.
Faldo's up there.
Gary Player's up there.
But, I and then number five is ScottieScheffler for me because of what he's doing in
(52:04):
the game right now.
I don't see him stopping now.
Granted, if this is done and Scottie Schefflerstops playing good, never wins another golf
tournament again.
Yeah.
He's out of it.
But he's in my, he's in the five slot right nowfor me.
If he continues on a similar path of what he'sdone in 2024, you better fricking believe he's
going to be in the top five because once again, one of the best ball strikers we have ever seen
(52:29):
in the game of golf.
And that's where I disagree with Jack'sanalysis at the Memorial that, oh, he doesn't
do anything special.
He just is above average in everything that hedoes.
And his course management is incredible.
I completely disagree with that.
I think his iron game and his ball striking isabsolutely second to none.
Some of the
best we've ever seen.
(52:50):
Correct.
Yeah.
100%.
Distance control primarily.
Yeah.
I mean, it's just a simple fact that that whathe is doing in his golf swing is so unique, and
it's something that that nobody else is nobodyelse has even gotten close to doing.
I mean, it's it's basically I mean, like wesaid about Moe Norman.
I mean, the guy did things so out of the box,and he was able to put the golf ball wherever,
(53:11):
whenever he wanted it.
And, I mean, you can't plus, I mean, yeah, ishe exciting to watch?
No.
Not necessarily because he's kinda boringpersonality wise, but fuck.
That's what gets it done nowadays.
So why not keep it going?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Keep it going, Scottie.
And before we move on from the GOAT talk, TrackGolfer wants to know what's our take on the
Sunday red from
(53:32):
the panel?
God.
I'd be great if you
I think it's pretty sharp stuff.
I think, Brent?
Oh god.
Well, I mean, considering it's plain colorsand, you know, it's kinda just good.
But the quality looks, like, amazing.
Yeah.
It does.
I mean, I can't imagine Tiger just all of asudden created this thing out of thin air.
(53:53):
I think he's probably been planning to do thisfor quite some time.
I mean, I don't know if any of this stuff'smade in China.
I've never even seen a shirt in person.
So, I mean, the hope is the hope is that it'shigh quality, high-quality items.
So.
I'm going to say this.
I think it is right up Tiger's alley.
If I am a member at a very high-end countryclub, I'm probably wearing some of that garb
(54:19):
because some hats.
The the logo is a little off, but that's just.
The logo is what it is, but it's very classy.
Putnam at number four.
That's crazy.
That's all he did.
Andrew Putnam at number four for his all-timebest players.
Wow.
That's incredible.
That's awesome.
I didn't see that one coming.
(54:39):
But.
What what is what makes a I mean, if you guyshad to give it a solid, like, what makes a good
brand?
I mean, like, realistically, I mean, does ithave to be super stylish, or is it more about
the look?
It's the cut, the quality, the material.
Okay.
The stitching.
I'm the same way.
I'm.
The same way.
The people behind it.
You know what I mean?
(54:59):
Like, it's it's about because even walking intoDevereux today, like, seeing the guys that are
behind it, I'm just like, wow, you guys livethis.
Like, you guys look fucking dope in wearingyour stuff that you're designing and putting
together and just a dope group of dudes.
I mean, Buttsy's known them.
This is my first interaction with them today, and I was really impressed.
(55:23):
I was like, hell yeah.
Like, they're guys that you could go outdrinking with for sure.
Oh, for sure.
No.
They're cool dudes.
I walked in there, same thing with Buttsy a fewyears ago.
You can tell that they're not trying they'renot, like I said, I mean, I kinda pick on now
on a little bit, but it just looks like they'rethey're trying really, really hard to fit a
niche.
Devereux's just out there putting out stuffthat they know is gonna work.
(55:46):
Yeah.
They're like, this is our fucking style.
But I yeah.
And I'm gonna tell you,
it is street wear in golf, which I have beendying for for a long time.
Like, Malbon does it in a a very LA way.
Yeah.
Where it's over the top.
It's this.
It's that.
Where it's like with Devereux, it just it'sstuff that you could wear out.
(56:07):
Like, the jacket that I got today, I'm like,I'm wearing that in New York City.
Like, that's freaking dope.
Oh, absolutely.
Fred Couples' career, by the way, Kyle.
It's super it's super modern high fashion too,but like Brent said, it's cut and it's made
like old school shit.
Like, really high end.
Yeah.
Really thick, like, good fabric.
(56:27):
I mean but, like, think about all the brandsthat say, well, you know, just make me a shirt
like Peter Millar or like TravisMathew.
I mean, TravisMathew when they first came outwas the exact same way.
They could have taken over the world, and thentheir quality went to shit.
And that's just it's a heartbreak, but, youknow, it's kind of what happened.
So the hope is that these brands that aresmaller but do get the support from, you know,
(56:49):
like, from people like us or other localPhoenix people, and they can dominate the
Southwest and then go throughout the country.
Or make it a hard focus on going with brandsthat we wanna be a part of.
Yeah.
That we're no longer just, hey, come on in andbe a sponsor because we've rejected quite a few
now to where it's like, hey, we want the rightpeople to be a part of this with us.
(57:11):
Yep.
So that's where we're at with all of that.
Kyle Carbone guy says, would you rather FredCouples' career or Greg Norman's?
I read that.
I was gonna say, I still think even thoughCouples probably had a better career, Greg
Norman side by side, he just looked like he wasa better player.
I mean, his record doesn't this is what I sell.
(57:32):
Like, can't just go, straight record.
I still think Greg looked like he was just abetter player.
Yeah.
But it's more it's more about, like, when hewas there, Freddie got it done.
I mean, there was
Of course.
For sure.
And Freddie's just
me what makes it what makes it oh, god.
His story
is something in there.
And it's still exactly the same, by the way.
Just all
I'm gonna tell you this.
(57:52):
I'm gonna take Fred Couples.
And one of the reasons is because I think thedude might be hung just as much as Greg Norman
because off the golf course, this dude wasknown for loving some Jacuzzis.
Mhmm.
With multiple females in that Jacuzzi at thesame time who may or may not be dressed.
(58:12):
Probably not.
Yeah.
But these these are stories direct.
So this is, these are from some Washington guysthat knew Freddie well and Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I'll ask him.
Exactly.
Yeah.
He created that thing.
Yeah.
Fred Freddie might be one of the smoothest guysin the world, which is why I would take Fred
(58:34):
Couples all day long because of that smooth.
And I mean, the two Masters, the dunk for paron 17 at Sawgrass.
I mean, yeah, he knew everywhere he went.
He just loved.
And I mean, everybody loves Freddie.
Yeah.
He will.
Is the one thing that if I if I had ever madeit, I I would have needed to win a Masters
because that's the only golf tournament thatwould have mattered to me.
(58:57):
Yeah.
I mean, think about think about how many timesyou think about a great player, and every
single one of them have won a Masters.
Every single one of them.
Yeah.
I mean, you can't you can't you can't evenenter the conversation, I think, if
They wouldn't know won a Masters if they playedthat golf course.
I mean, they just
the hero in the
last year.
Well, yeah, I mean, that's obvious.
I mean, that goes without saying.
(59:17):
But, I mean, think about Phil.
Right?
I mean, does Phil have an asterisk because henever won a U.S.
Open?
I mean, I guess, but he also won, you know, multiple majors and had, like, 60 plus wins.
So
I'm trying to put put up all these comments.
See, a
lot of comments around this one.
Great question.
(59:37):
Norman is a choker even today with LIV, whichwe'll get into that at the end of the episode
here.
They didn't call him Boom Boom because he hitthe ball far.
That's Freddie, that's in
reaction to
Freddie Couples.
Yeah.
I mean, he hit it far for back in
the day.
Oh, all and straight.
Todd Dodson wants to know, are we gonna talkabout the Grassley?
We sure are.
It is on the agenda.
(59:59):
It wasn't on our main agenda, but it is on theagenda.
We're gonna be talking
about that
right before we get to LIV Golf.
We've also got Dylan Vodrey.
He says FC is the guy that guys wanna be.
It's true.
It is
true.
It's absolutely true.
I haven't even read these comments yet.
There are so many came in.
We just kind of pop them up.
Couples is paying more married women than anyother golfer in history.
(01:00:25):
Well, drive James Bond.
We're a golfer.
There you go.
Oh, man.
And let
Austin win in in-depth second.
No green jacket.
The green jacket, I'll tell you right now thatit is the only tournament that would matter to
me as a pro golfer.
Oh, god.
I mean, think about that.
Right?
Like, you get to play Augusta.
(01:00:45):
You're basically a member, and it's pretty muchthe only event that's it actually is the only
event that's at the same golf course everyyear.
They run it.
They run it exactly how they wanna run it.
It's completely their show, and they treat whenyou're there, you're there.
And it's and when you win it, it's you're therefor life.
When you're there, you're there.
(01:01:05):
Crazy, though?
He's outside of playing in the Masters.
That golf course is not the same golf courseyear-round.
Like I
can't imagine it would
lot of people don't love Augusta.
Like, when I would talk to a lot of 1percenters that played both Augusta National
and then also Cypress, every single one of themchose Cypress during the year.
They're like, if you're playing Augusta aroundthe Masters, though, they're like Augusta.
(01:01:30):
All day long, it's Augusta.
But Augusta is not that same golf course thatyou play around that time of year if you go and
play there as a guest.
Is there a is there a time of I mean, like, Iunderstand each area of the country has its
time of year, but we were debating this theother day.
It's like depending on where you're at and whenyou are, the golf courses just are completely
(01:01:50):
different, and they just Well,
look at Arizona.
Well yeah.
But, I mean, think about think about Northernand Southern California.
Think about how many golf courses are amazingthere.
But then you go on the East Coast, and you goto a place like Sawgrass, and it's a shithole,
except for right before and right after
the Players.
Torrey Pines.
Torrey Pines does the same thing.
That's a dog track year-round up until theFarmers Insurance Open comes in.
(01:02:11):
And ranch.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Or He'd be There's
a lot of courses that do that.
But you would you would expect
Augusta National to be in such great shape allyear-round, but they close it.
Don't they close it from October to just aboutApril?
I mean, it's like Oh, it's they they startgetting put together through March.
(01:02:32):
But I've heard that they closed in October.
They reopen in, like, March.
Yeah.
They don't have a lot of playing time at all.
But Eli Manning just became a member.
A little shout out to Giants folklore.
Wow.
That's
So yeah.
Great stuff there.
Now, I don't even know where we're at, so I'mjust gonna talk about the Grass League since it
(01:02:55):
was brought up by Mr.
Todd Dobson.
First of all, did you guys get to catch any ofthis action?
I didn't, but I did talk to somebody thatplayed in it.
All of it.
It was phenomenal.
The commentary was great.
Mhmm.
Parker McLachlin, I felt like, did a great job.
The Short Game Chef with the on-coursecommentary.
(01:03:15):
I thought everybody all the way around it justfelt like it was a really good production, and
the golf was even that much better.
And guess what?
Anybody who shat on, and I think, Brent, youmight have shat on them, but the team of
Gankas, they were in the lead after the firstday.
(01:03:37):
They fell apart a little bit in the finalround, but,
that was pretty impressive.
Listen.
Gankas can flat out fucking play.
The guy is one of the only coaches in the worldthat fucking puts it down.
I mean, he can putt.
He can chip.
His swing's great.
It's just he doesn't play often because, obviously, he's out there making $1,000 an hour
(01:03:58):
coaching on the fucking driving range withthat.
Blame him.
You know what's weird?
Maybe Todd can answer this question for us.
Where did the DOD king and freezer traps
Oh, yeah.
Shot because I was
I was looking at the leaderboard, and I didn'tsee them at all.
Like, I don't know if they use their realnames, but none of their real names are
actually on, like, the website.
(01:04:20):
So it just goes by Freezer Traps and DOD Gangand didn't even see them on the leaderboard.
No.
You know those YouTube guys.
I think they played like dog shit.
Plus 4.
Holy fuck.
Well, there you have it.
That's why they were not I mean, I think theyshut it off at 48 play or however many teams,
but, plus 4.
(01:04:40):
Okay.
I showed up with my bag there on day 1, and, Iasked, you know, if somebody gets sick or
something.
You know You know what's great
about you, Josh?
Or Buttsy?
Sorry.
The I went to the website, and I startedlooking at the roster because I was actually
(01:05:01):
trying to look up to see where the DOD King wasin your first draft.
And I I thought that I like that they weregoing by their real names.
And that's why I couldn't figure out where theywere on the leaderboard because I wanted to
talk about it.
And sure enough, I see Buttsy in there as a,and he's got I don't know what picture you
(01:05:22):
used, but you got a lanyard on.
It was from when I caddied at the Houston Open.
Yeah.
I remember that.
Yeah.
I figured when I posted that, I would look
more priceless.
More legit.
Maybe somebody picked me.
But a plus 0.7, So that's the other thing.
I was gonna go ahead and submit myself as afree agent.
(01:05:43):
And then I was like, oh, shit.
I've been working so hard to get my, handicapto go in that direction.
Mhmm.
And over the past, like, year and a half, it'sgone from a plus 0.5 to a 4.
Oh, no.
And I'm like, I don't really wanna put a 4 upthere.
So I'm just wondering, like, is it bad sport toput a 4 up there instead of a plus 0.5?
(01:06:08):
No.
But, I mean, shit, dude.
I'm probably, like, a plus 5 at that golfcourse.
I mean, you don't have to hit driver.
Right?
I have played well out there at Grass Clippings
at night.
I'm not gonna lose a ball.
Probably gonna play pretty good.
Not gonna make
a ball.
Could probably go pretty low as well.
Let's see this.
Todd Dobson says DOD doesn't have the hands wethought, with that performance.
(01:06:32):
Absolutely not.
And you guys had some really clutch performersout there as well.
So, folks, if you didn't catch the action and Idon't know when the next one's gonna be, but
when the next one gets announced, you guys gotto tune into this.
This
shit is good.
And it was awesome.
No, you need a release from the PGA Tour.
They blocked him.
I'm in.
(01:06:52):
I'll play.
I'm fucking in right now.
I'll tell you right now.
I am too, but we can't play a 3-man deal.
Well, Brent's gonna be out.
So we could
play on another team.
But to you and me.
I'll play
on another team.
That'll be fine.
I'm winning that.
Listen.
Listen.
Right or right now.
Think about this.
Think about this.
So so we have we have the clearly, the the 5thmajor being played here at World Challenge.
(01:07:15):
The Grass Clippings.
With that.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
The the
the grass league.
It stands in a league of its own.
It is so far and above
It's the grass
league.
Event.
It's the grass league.
It's the fifth major.
Well, now it's see, I just don't it's it's sosuperior to all of the majors, I think.
It's just the way they covered it, the way theyran it, the way they marketed it.
(01:07:36):
I think it's absolutely it's in a league of itsown.
You know?
The only thing I don't know if I love is thebranding of it being a high-stakes par-3 golf.
Well, that's what
they see you think so?
Yeah.
I feel like high stakes is, like, each guy'sthrowing in $10.
(01:07:57):
Oh.
Well
Well, I mean, technically,
100% has that guy I mean, that guy himselfmight not be paying that, but somebody has paid
an incredible amount of money to have a teamout there or to be represented out there.
And if I have the money, I I don't even want apartner.
I just play it by myself and win it.
Yeah.
You are a selfish son of a bitch.
(01:08:17):
I'm like, I will play on your team.
We will go out there.
We will win this.
You're like, no.
I wanna win it on my own.
No.
I'm just saying, like, you break your legbefore we tee off, and we're still winning, and
you don't have to hit a shot.
Wow.
I mean, you do have and I'll I'll be the firstone to admit.
You do have really good hands.
He's got some of the best hand-eye coordinationI have ever seen.
(01:08:39):
The gifts right here.
They were made out of feathers.
So soft.
So I wanted to pull up the leaderboard here andshow it to everybody.
So I think these two questions the two thingsthat were said here.
And so I think Todd Dobson runs ran it, didn'the?
Is that true?
He is definitely part of it.
Yeah.
So, I mean, he's, you know, what's yourdefinition of high stakes?
(01:09:00):
I mean, is it one guy putting up a numberagainst the next guy?
I don't know.
Like, to me, high stakes, I feel like it'salmost like a poker term, and it's like, hey.
You're coming in with $100,000 playing TexasHold 'em.
Mhmm.
And it's high stakes because you got a lot onthe line.
Okay.
Where it's like maybe it's like high pay.
(01:09:22):
I don't know.
I'm with you on that.
I feel like you're playing for a considerableamount of money if it's high stakes.
You're risking a lot of your own money is whatit is.
So it's like two things, right?
You gotta have a lot on the line and be playingfor a shitload.
Something's at stake.
It's high stakes.
That's fair.
I mean, whoever put up the money per team, ifit was each guy or whatever owner, I mean,
(01:09:47):
that's high stakes for them.
I mean, shit.
Let's hold on.
We had a minus 14 through how many holes wasit?
It's due.
36.
36 holes?
Fuck me.
That's fucking low.
Fuck.
These guys are fucking playing.
Oh, it's not a joke.
I mean, this is not, like, this is not a, oh,you know what?
Like, these guys can't play, and we're puttingtogether this league, and there's gonna be
(01:10:11):
teams.
No.
These guys can fucking flat-out play.
Right.
Who, who it was a playoff.
A four fucking man playoff.
Motherfucker.
Yeah, dude.
And did you see the putt that got dropped inorder to win it all?
Oh, yeah.
Oh.
Long?
Was it long?
Oh, I'm sorry.
Hang on.
I got the wrong tournament up.
I got the wrong one.
(01:10:32):
The option is in our ass over here.
Hang on.
How did I get the wrong tournament?
Oh, the GL.
It's gonna be the GL Championship.
Championship.
Oh, there.
we go.
Sorry about that.
19 under.
Motherfucker.
Yeah, dude.
What the fuck?
Okay.
So who do Buchanan and then who?
Buckner and Haines.
Who the
(01:10:52):
fuck is that?
Buckner and Haines.
But that's the thing.
So this
is par 3 players.
Yeah.
This is the second part.
This is gonna be the challenge with the grassleague is building up the names.
They've gotta do a lot of promo around theindividual players so that they become
household names.
Oh, come on.
They were
like and they did they did in the first onebecause they deemed the best par 3 player, and
(01:11:17):
they used his
name in some form.
Allison Lee and and Trey Kidd, who I think areactually dating, fucking placed second.
That's all.
Look look how well the Arizona squads did, though.
The Scottsdale Strikers with Hendricks andNeuheisel.
We got Masa and Lance.
So that's Cody Masa and DJ Lance there withPhoenix United.
(01:11:38):
Then we got Wax and Lebowitz with theScottsdale Strikers.
So I disagree with the use of the influencers, though.
I understand it from a marketing perspective, but you literally picked a couple guys that
give the illusion that they're halfway decent, but, like, they're just not that great either.
They're Oh, there they are.
So that's why they use their real names.
(01:12:00):
Yeah.
I mean, that's unfortunate.
Mhmm.
That's why I couldn't figure out who the hellthey were.
Now one of the disappointing groups that Ithought was gonna play a hell of a lot better
was Fish and More.
Fish and Yeah.
I really thought that
they were gonna play well.
athletes, you know, world-class athletes inother sports, you know, don't necessarily play
(01:12:20):
play don't, so there's a celebrity golf tourthat's out there, and these guys play in it.
And they shoot under par.
Well, you know, but they were probably outthere to have a grand old fucking time and be
who they are, not necessarily great golfers.
You know?
Or they got nervous.
They could have gotten nervous.
I mean, they had a venue set up, bro.
(01:12:41):
I mean, dude.
And Mason, tied 7th.
Now, I'm gonna tell you right now, that was notexpected.
But why in the hell is an L.A.
guy in George Gankas on Phoenix United?
Well, because I think, Roberts
the right guy.
Yeah.
Dave Roberts, I think, owned that team.
The L.A.
Dodgers manager, he owns not Phoenix United.
(01:13:02):
Are you sure?
Yeah.
He's got the Roses.
Oh, is it the Roses?
Oh.
Yeah.
The Los Angeles Roses.
Alright.
I thought it was the Phoenix team, but I gotNo.
So United is, I forget who they're owned by.
Well, I think, Todd and your entire teamdeserve an absolute fan applause from the
(01:13:24):
soundboard because that is fucking awesome.
That's that's pretty impressive to be puttingon the most exciting tournament in all of golf,
and you did it in your first fucking year.
Yeah.
Dude, it it was That's fucking awesome.
It was it was better than the Hero WorldChallenge.
I'll tell you that much.
Well, you
know, but it's a close but,
(01:13:45):
I mean, come on.
You gotta give the
Hero World Challenge.
It's it's no.
For Buttsy, that is the 5th major, the HeroWorld Challenge.
But the 5th major for me was the Grass Leaguethis past week.
I'm in.
You want me to see those guys grinding outthere?
Well, we need to find an owner who's willing toput up the money and allow us to go out there
(01:14:06):
and play.
I would love if Buttsy and I
I know a guy.
could represent, instead of Genkis and whoeverelse that guy was, I wish Buttsy and I could
play for Phoenix United.
You know?
Be a local squad instead of having to build theUtah Soakers.
And win by five.
Yeah.
Probably.
I mean, I gotta play by myself.
(01:14:28):
That sucks.
So Austin Whittington mentions that the Tampateam is owned by Silverleaf.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Benny Herman.
Ben Herman.
How do you
play football?
Anti-live, the Grass League is far moreexciting than the LIV circus exhibition.
He fucking hates
it.
Yeah.
It
does.
At least he's consistent.
Oh, he
he's not a problem.
(01:14:48):
That it was a two-man scramble, which I likethat format.
You could try out for my team.
Wouldn't that be interesting?
Brent Grant hosts a Grass League qualifier.
100 people to fucking for one spot.
No, Brent.
If you if you own a goddamn team, you'reputting Buttsy and I
in there.
What are you talking about?
I saw my god.
All I need and teams.
All I need to get serious about golf again isto have something to actually play for.
(01:15:11):
It's a great simulator.
No.
I need something to play for.
I feel like I don't get motivated anymoreplaying golf.
Gotta be six figures for you.
That's too low stakes.
High stakes.
I mean, high stakes.
I
mean, high stakes.
I need in.
I need into this.
Todd, I don't know who you gotta talk to to getButtsy and I into this, but, and by the way,
(01:15:32):
now that Buttsy's just saying all abouthimself, I tell you what, just get me in there.
I just need to
play.
Immediate dissension.
Immediate dissension.
Let me play
a scramble by myself.
Love it.
You got called golf?
Yeah.
So I did talk to I did talk to somebody thatplayed in the event, and they they
Oh, here we go.
There we go.
Todd, this is just pure hatred at this point.
(01:15:55):
Jeez.
Buttsy's in.
I'm out.
I don't know what's going on.
Goddamn.
Titleist cap, Todd.
That's hilarious.
That is awesome.
Buttsy, you what.
If, if there was a motivation for me to get mygame back right now, it is now.
Now's the time.
You gotta get back with Butch, man.
(01:16:15):
Gotta go.
You got
free access to that simulator.
It's like a mile from your house, bro.
I know.
And I'm never in there.
Be there after this.
Absolutely.
Well,
I'm living at this point.
This begs the question.
So these guys went to the Golf Channel.
They went to the Tour, got absolutely justfucking just a big middle finger, and these
(01:16:35):
guys went out, did it on their own, and justfucking did a great job.
I mean, fuck.
And they found some really big fuckingsponsors.
Why the fuck yeah.
But the PGA Tour has fucking everybody andtheir dog giving them money, and they can't put
on half as good a show.
This is a par 3 contest with a bunch of peoplethat are no names, and they put on a better
show.
(01:16:56):
Troon, Golf Channel.
Like, I mean, this was big.
I think so.
So Todd mentions there's gonna be a 2025 GLdraft.
I'm in.
So I'm going to submit my information over.
I will skip a tour event to come play that.
Absolutely.
Get drafted, I want them to hand me the fuckingjersey, and, like, we'll toast and do the whole
(01:17:18):
thing.
That jersey that jersey is gonna have to be sospecial.
You stop it.
You just stop it right now.
I'm gonna tell you right now.
But he and I were in a money match at a par 3golf course Oh.
Not that long ago, and we happened to shoot, Ibelieve, 8 under.
Dominic.
(01:17:39):
As best ball?
It wasn't it wasn't scramble either.
It was best ball.
Is it scramble, or is it is it best ball?
This past one was a scramble.
Oh, fuck.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's amazing.
That's exciting.
Well done, Todd Dobson and the whole fuckingteam.
Well done.
I don't know why I'm not Wow.
Where where's my invite?
But but he's getting a lot of love here for, hesaid he's got you signed in free agency.
(01:18:03):
Clearly, adding me up
these videos that I'm in.
I'll wear them over.
There.
There was a $100,000 purse there, Trent.
$100,000.
40 Was
that a 100 k?
Yeah.
Wow.
Forty grand to the winner, though.
That's a lot of money.
Yeah.
And considering I don't think there was anentry fee, was there an entry fee, or was it
the owners that put up the cash?
(01:18:25):
Now I'm upset.
Can I have another coffee?
I'm livid over here.
I'm burning up.
Whatever you put in the first coffee, though, just hang tight
just a
second one because I'm getting
I'm bursting out here.
I gotta take a take a little wee wee here.
Give me one second.
A little wee wee.
I'm not.
Wee wee.
Yeah.
I'll remove my mic so you guys don't hear the
(01:18:45):
piss.
Oh, no.
So, Buttsy, you're looking good for, becoming amember of the I'm not.
I I am not.
I am,
You're coming.
No.
I mean, there's gonna be a draft and, yeah,listen.
You're probably gonna get picked.
I wanna know what the secret side bettinglooked like.
(01:19:07):
I know there was some very, very big actionbetween the teams and between the owners.
I I can't even imagine what that amounted to.
I probably don't wanna know.
How is the, J Dub Black treating you there?
It's delish.
I wasn't planning on going to an extra glass atthis point, but I got frustrated with the whole
(01:19:30):
talk of the grass league and how you're goingto be drafting.
I'm on the outskirts.
I mean, I'm not even get I'm I'm not gettingany love at all.
And I I last time I checked, I think I'm stillpretty good at this point.
Can't play it.
You can't.
I can't absolutely play.
I can absolutely play.
Play, Hammond.
Yes.
I can.
I can.
I can.
You need a goddamn release, which the PGA Tourhas already said they're not gonna do.
(01:19:53):
All that means is that if I go play, there mayor may not be, quote, unquote, disciplinary
action.
That's all that was ever said.
I can say and do whatever the fuck I want, period.
Fine.
Well,
we need a fucking team.
I fucking.
Yeah, I agree.
(01:20:14):
What needs to happen is that the tour needs topull their fucking heads out of their ass
is what he needs.
You know what.
If I if I get drafted, I will actually train.
High stakes.
There you go.
You know what?
I will actually train and get ready for this.
I swear to god.
I'll get my game back to being a plus 3.
You gotta get the guy to get off the get offthe sauce, gotta get in the gym, fucking get
(01:20:36):
after it.
Come on, baby.
Do any of that.
You just I
think if you ask Brent Grant right now let'sask Brent.
Let's put him on the spot.
Brent, if I worked at my game and played, whatdo you think my handicap would be?
What does worked on your game mean to you?
So practicing on a daily basis and getting mygame back into shape the way that it was.
(01:21:01):
Not too long ago?
Mhmm.
We don't oh, that's fucked up.
Come on, Trot.
Give him a little bit better than that.
Wow.
Trot golfers hating on me too.
This is just a hatred on Matt night right now.
No.
Listen.
Listen.
I think math with you.
Listen.
I think I think you get with the right guy, togive you a little bit of guidance with the
(01:21:22):
swing, get you where you need to go, and Ithink you could easily easily break par without
even trying within eight months.
I'm gonna sit here and tell you, I've playedgolf with Matt when he's on.
And,
I've seen it.
Yeah.
That's in there.
Play some golf.
It's in there.
Absolutely.
I did notice his game suffer as the months wenton, but that's only because he's playing way
(01:21:45):
less golf.
Oh, yeah.
He's not playing at all.
He's actually working.
Yeah.
Man's been busy.
Then he got the avian bird flu for, like, threeweeks.
That wasn't good.
The first part of this year.
I was out for three months.
Well, there
you go, man.
Just get healthy again.
(01:22:07):
Get yourself a good instructor.
Get your ass, you know, back in shape andfucking get after it.
Oh, that'd be hilarious, Jimmy.
I'm in Plantation.
Done.
Oh, yeah.
We got we got to make a trip out.
Buttsy and I happen to be a pretty good squadbecause our games complement each other.
(01:22:27):
That's true.
They're different.
Buttsy won't have to qualify.
I I wow.
This is this is amazing.
I Todd, you're getting
you right now.
Just you're hearing it.
Worth the applause.
What do you
want me to say, dude?
I'm gonna fucking let's go.
You're gonna get through the qualifier.
(01:22:48):
I'm gonna be on the same two.
It's gonna be fine.
When's the qualifier, Todd?
Alright.
Alright.
Alright.
What is this damn qualifier?
Oh, you got that
fucking fired up.
Fire up.
I don't think I've been this fired up aboutgolf in a long time.
Oh my god.
My man
I feel like I got something to prove now.
(01:23:08):
Hitting balls tonight.
I'm probably going over to that indoor golfcenter, Desert Links.
Come on, baby.
Fucking do it.
It's 24/7 access.
Fucking hilarious.
I am so frustrated.
Todd,
is there any, is there any communications withthe Tour to maybe figure some shit out, or did
you guys just say fuck them?
(01:23:30):
Which is totally fine if you did.
But that's my question in the audience.
K.
As we're waiting on that from Todd and since Iam frustrated, the Grant Thornton Invitational
is happening this week.
Are you guys a fan of the mixed gendertournament?
I don't know who that is.
Who's Grant Thornton?
One man, one female.
(01:23:51):
And they play as a team all week.
You're a fan?
I mean, all we can say is if you can make it,we'd love to have you.
Motherfucker.
Get him, Todd.
Love it.
Don't even know this guy.
This is fantastic.
Oh,
my God.
I don't know.
I think the only
(01:24:12):
I think the only thing that, that high stakes,he said.
High stakes.
There you go.
Oh, fuck.
Oh, yeah.
I totally I totally get it right now.
I upset you, Todd, and I apologize for callingout high stakes.
It just hit me why you have said high stakesmultiple times in this chat and why you keep
(01:24:34):
digging at me saying, but he's in.
Right.
Matt, you gotta go qualify.
Totally.
My apologies, Todd.
My apologies.
Hilarious.
You guys you just got fucking, like, trolledand rolled.
I did.
Oh, I did.
Hour.
And you know what's great about it?
It's I didn't even realize it until just now.
The man just completely sidetracked the wholeshow because you were gonna fucking lose your
(01:24:56):
shit.
And and you know what?
The best part about it is, I think he actuallyfound something inside of me that is still
burning.
There's still, like, a little bit of a candlethat is lit inside that I'm just like, fuck
this.
I'm going to practice tonight.
I fell out on the ground somewhere.
It's not
inside of me.
That I don't know, guys.
(01:25:17):
Even Austin Whittington loves the audiencetrolling.
But go ahead.
Back to the whole man, female
team event.
Into the Grant over the fuck invitation.
Grant Thornton.
It is a bunch of golfers that have played wellthis year that are all making a shitload of
money.
It can't buy you immortality.
That is very true, Tom.
(01:25:38):
That's valid.
I mean, he's a fucking genius.
Here's the crazy thing, though.
You guys know that California guy that is,like, trying to live eternally?
He's, like, taking blood of younger people, andthis guy who's biohacking his life.
He
drinks the blood of his son.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What?
What?
This is a real fucking thing, Brent.
You got to get with the with the program.
(01:25:59):
I really don't.
I really don't.
Yeah.
That guy's a fucking robot.
I don't even wanna talk about that weirdo.
He's like a bajillionaire, and nobody likes
He's terrible.
He's absolutely awful.
That's satanic type shit.
He looks satanic.
He really does.
That's unfortunate.
All
he's gotta do is wait a few years, and AI's gothim covered.
You know what I mean?
You just upload.
So
Just download what you got in there.
(01:26:20):
Upload it to a system.
You're living
on the
get back on track here.
I shouldn't be the one saying this, but
Grant Thornton Invitational.
No, you're right, because I am fired up.
So let's get into the Grant.
The whiskey is you're right.
Is the devil.
It's it's not even the whiskey, which is theproblem.
It's Todd Dobbs and just lighting a fire insideof me.
You are on you.
(01:26:43):
I got something to prove now.
Fuck.
Jason Day and Lydia Ko won it last year.
That's cool.
Yeah.
I don't even want to get into, like, picks andstuff with it.
You just move on.
Let's move on.
I do think it's cool, though, that the ladiesget a like the limelight a little bit.
Yeah, for sure.
This week, out of all weeks, I just feel likethe Q School should be the talking point.
(01:27:08):
Q School and then maybe the Father SonChampionship now that we know Tiger's back in
on the tee.
Wow.
Yeah.
T and C.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I think I think it's by
the way, Todd, if you want us to do anythingpromo-wise for the next grass league, even if
Buttsy's in it and I'm out of it, let us know.
(01:27:31):
We'd love to, you know, since it's a localthing going on here in Arizona, Buttsy and I
and Brent, we've talked about it.
We really wanna be hyperlocal this year.
2025 is all about Phoenix, baby.
You totally melted this guy, Todd.
Oh my God.
Melted me hard.
Okay.
Oh, my gosh.
Guys, LIV Golf News.
(01:27:52):
Oh.
News.
Here's try try.
Matt, maybe you can be in the booth.
Oh, wow.
That's I think if anything happens, I think itmight be me and Parker in the booth and these
two fuckheads.
I'm gonna shit myself.
This is funny.
(01:28:13):
This is better than the Hero World Challengetroll by for about three straight weeks.
What'd you say about Hero?
Oh, you heard me.
Oh, shit.
Seventh major.
God, I love that I used to be able to playgolf.
It really riles me up.
I can play again.
Does it grind your gears?
(01:28:34):
It really does.
We might start a segment called Grinds MyMatt's Gears.
Oh, now it's what grinds your gears.
Okay.
Brent wanted this segment early on, and itnever came to fruition.
He pitched me on it.
It just didn't happen.
Alright.
So the video is all the
same boy, Grant Horvat, Invitational.
What?
(01:28:54):
No.
No.
We've moved on from the Grant Nobody Got ThatInvitational.
Okay.
I wanted to talk
about that a little more.
Too bad.
Moving on.
Okay.
That's fine.
Oh, hang on a second.
This is great.
But the 11th green maintenance shed roof in thefield.
Meet him there at 7 p.m.
And you're in.
Nice.
11th green, mate.
(01:29:14):
Give me the give me the the
You need the coordinates?
The time.
Give me the key code and make
What what time, Todd, what time does Buttsyneed to be there?
I'm not doing any Illuminati shit for thisfucking
position.
Listen, Trot.
I might actually take you up on that.
I might come out, see Trot.
(01:29:35):
Trot's gotta flow.
Have you guys seen Trot's videos on BernhardLanger, by the way?
Her Trot's
a better
Trot looks like he drives for Penske.
The What?
The reddish orange hair in in a mullet formatis Woah.
Awesome.
And did you see his tattoos too?
(01:29:56):
Unbelievable.
Add it up,
I absolutely, dude, that.
Oh, that's the broadcast booth.
Oh, that is the broadcast booth.
Okay.
There you go, Buttsy.
Alright.
You're at least in the broadcast booth.
As long as I don't have to get naked oranything fucking weird, dude.
There you go.
No.
He already said, Buttsy's in.
He's already in.
He did.
(01:30:17):
He said he's gonna get drafted.
He's in?
Cool.
Which if that's the case, I mean, you betterstart practicing, my friend.
Yeah.
That, dude.
I ain't practicing.
I played my best golf fucking 14 beers in.
Todd said, no.
That's for me, I think.
He's got you covered.
Yeah.
He's talking about you.
Looks like I'm gonna be in the booth, andButtsy's gonna be out there playing.
(01:30:37):
And that is really gonna grind my gears.
Mhmm.
Todd did not think he was gonna hop in heretonight and fucking slap his knee for two
hours.
I think Todd has hit a nerve with me right now,and he knows that it's hitting a nerve when he
goes, Buttsy will be a huge offseason signing.
But I don't know who this Buttsy guy is withone t.
(01:31:01):
Oh, no.
Yeah.
You're trying to, like, claw back at him, buthe's got you too.
He scorched it too much.
I have been absolutely demolished.
I have been destroyed tonight.
This is worse than me wearing freaking UGGloafers right now.
Okay.
Let's get into the LIV Golf news.
Is there news from the from the other people?
(01:31:21):
From the other There is.
From the other side of the world.
Let's get into it.
Greg Norman has accepted his fate.
He has admitted to media outlets verydepressingly, by the way.
That he does have a huge deal.
He's got a huge role, but he has been removedas the LIV Golf CEO.
(01:31:46):
Oh, I'm just heartbroken by that.
What's your take on it, gentlemen?
What do you think?
Brent, would you smoke a cigar shaped likeGreg's wiener?
Serious question.
Answer it, Brent.
No.
I just feel like earlier when you described tothat guy what kind of cigar he should have for
(01:32:10):
his bachelor party, you
Well, you gotta let the guy know what the damnthing is.
You pretty much described Greg's wiener.
You said a 56 gauge circumference, a big one.
Ring gauge?
Mhmm.
Smokes really good.
Mhmm.
Sounds good in your pocket.
K.
Just anyways, we can move.
(01:32:35):
Doing great.
Doing great
at first.
Fuck me, brother.
This is why when I throw out one question toboth of you, I just never know what you're
really going to get.
Jesus.
What do we think about Greg Norman resigning orbeing kicked out?
Was he resigned or did he get kicked out?
I mean, Todd's on to something here.
(01:32:56):
Where else do you find analysis like this whenit comes to Buttsy asking Brent, would you
smoke a cigar in the shape of Greg Norman'scock?
That is not what I said.
I did not say it vulgarly because I wanted tobe able to
post this.
You're the
one unpostable now.
But, yeah, you're damn porno shit.
(01:33:18):
Shocking.
How shocking of you?
Oh, man.
If he didn't, if he got fired or was releasedfrom his duties as CEO, I think it makes it
look a lot worse.
But if he just decided to be done, then he'sprobably made his $1 billion and he's fucking
Audi 5,000.
(01:33:39):
Go fucking sit on a yacht in the middle of afucking ocean.
Who gets
This is a massive organization, tons of fuckingmoney, a lot of planning, a lot of people
involved.
Yeah.
Are we stupid to say that Greg didn't—you'retrying to say he didn't know that this day was
coming and, like, he had an occupation of arole.
Like, I think he knew.
Alright.
Let's be honest here.
(01:33:59):
Greg Norman might have the biggest ego out ofanybody in the world.
I understand that.
But I think too.
I know.
He might've known, but I got a feeling that ithurts.
Like you should, you should read his response.
Now we don't have a tone of voice to hisresponse to these media outlets, but you read
(01:34:20):
it and it's just like, I have done enough withLIV Golf, blah, blah.
Like, it is a defeated type of quote.
Mhmm.
Well, I guess I mean, do you guys think that ata certain point in time, it was kinda more
about, hey.
You know, I wanted to get this thing off theground.
I've been trying to do it for 30 fucking years, and I finally did it.
(01:34:41):
Or is he like, oh, I can't believe they let mego kind of thing.
I think long term, he's gonna look at it in thefirst way you put it.
But I think in the short term right now, Ithink it hurts.
I think that
was a good one.
Put out anything besides him feeling hurt.
Like, that's just good PR, dude.
That's just
But, I mean, think about how much hate this guygets on a minute-by-minute basis.
(01:35:04):
I mean, the guy has spent the last, I don'tknow, like I said, 30, 40 years petitioning the
PGA Tour to make a quote, unquote world tour.
And he basically got it all the way to thefront door, and now this new CEO is gonna take
it with a new deal.
And with Trump in office, everything is gonnago off without a hitch.
And he did what he needed to do.
(01:35:26):
I'm saying, and I agree with that.
I understand why you're saying that.
But I'm thinking, like, this is like, in themacro world of
No.
That's also true.
And
A small little blip on in his life.
He's got all this other shit going on
in his life.
And at his age now, I'm sure what's importantto him, he's not waking up every day with a
vendetta towards the PGA Tour anymore.
Like, that's the last thing he gives a fuckabout anymore probably.
(01:35:48):
I don't I think he wakes up every day thinking, how can I stick it to the PGA?
No.
I don't.
I think this is, like, this little thing overhere.
It's great PR to be a part of it.
And I mean, worst-case scenario, what?
He got fired and didn't see it coming.
Best-case scenario is that he did what heneeded to do, made his
It's been coming since Mark King was supposedto take over for him over a year ago.
(01:36:13):
Well, they reminded me of somebody that owns, like, an F1 team.
That's kinda how.
Yeah.
Oh, but that's funny because PIF owns F1 aswell.
So there you go.
Yeah.
Same kind of deal, though.
Like, he's a figurehead and, you know, shit.
But look at look
at who they've got coming in.
Right?
I think his name is O'Neil.
Is that right?
Yeah.
The guy is a fucking beast.
(01:36:34):
Sports beast.
Incredible.
I mean, and I'm not to take anything away fromMr.
Norman.
I mean, he's an incredible businessperson, buthe's always been in business for himself.
And so at this point, this guy that's coming inis gonna be able to take an organization
that's, by the way, way larger than the PGATour Enterprises and come in and run and run
them both seamlessly.
(01:36:55):
I wanna bring this back up real quick becauseanti-live talked about a conspiracy theory that
the PGA Tour Enterprises would never do a dealwith PIF, with Norman around that actually
there were emails that were released to wherethey stated that they would not, that they were
requiring PIF to remove Greg Norman
(01:37:18):
absolutely
from in order for them.
And they were talking about in some of theemails with PIF early on that got disclosed
that, they wanted Jimmy Dunne was offering torun LIV Golf at the time.
So
Oh, there you go.
Greg Norman of the grass league.
That'd be hilarious.
(01:37:38):
You jumped the guns.
This guy is still on it.
Jesus.
Oh, you got it.
Dude, honestly, that's what this all comes downto.
Right?
I mean, the story from the beginning has beenJay never even picked up the phone.
Saw the caller ID, saw that it was Greg andsaid, fuck you.
So, I
mean, that's from the beginning, it's been afuck you, fuck you battle.
(01:37:58):
Here's the other side to all of this, right, with the LIV Golf news.
So it broke today that PIF, their investment isgonna change a little bit, but it's all
starting to get announced now.
Well, shocker.
Right?
Shocker.
Donald Trump is in or going to be in office inJanuary.
And guess what?
I said, you might hear an announcement beforethe end of the year.
(01:38:22):
Yep.
Sure enough.
What we are hearing right now is that PIF isgoing to make an investment.
It is less than originally reported.
So the only thing that has changed is that I'mhearing that it is less than what it originally
was.
Part of it apparently is around the U.S.
(01:38:42):
government.
I don't know exactly if it is or not, but PIFis gonna make an investment of $720 million for
6% of PGA Tour Enterprises, which would puttheir valuation for PGA Tour Enterprises at
around
(01:39:03):
That doesn't make any sense.
What do
you mean?
Well, so, I mean, I understand that that whatneeds to get evaluated and whatnot, but, I
mean, that number could change completely.
I mean, there's no
The valuation?
No.
It's what they're buying in for.
So when you buy in for a certain percentage, you just do the math, and you're saying that
(01:39:23):
you're valuing the company at $12 billion atthis exact point in time.
Yeah.
That's so hard to that's so hard to see.
I mean, I I hope it I hope that's how it allends up working out.
But, I mean, I just to me, it just seems likethey're just gonna come together, and then
everything will get swept under the rug as ifnothing ever happened.
(01:39:44):
And then you just see the top players competingfor a shitload of money, and everybody else
competes for the table scraps.
My other side
to this fight Jake Paul again at one of thoseevents, I think.
Mhmm.
The other side to this is, there is I think hisname is Matt Vincenzi or something like that.
I don't know exactly who he is, but he tends toput out stuff on Twitter.
(01:40:04):
I saw Nuclear Golf grabbed something he said.
He said he was speaking with Brooks and Bryson.
Mhmm.
And they said that there could be, based off ofthis information, very much so, a PGA Tour
versus LIV Golf Ryder Cup style next year.
Of course.
(01:40:24):
What do you guys think about that?
I think it'd be kinda ridiculous, but it'dbasically be a Presidents Cup.
So I think it'd be great TV.
I think it'd be fucking phenomenal.
I'm I
think the problem is the problem is, again, you're gonna have the same people running the
media side of it that have been running itterribly this entire necessarily.
No.
Here's the thing.
Come on.
I think with SSG getting involved
(01:40:46):
Nah.
I think, dude, there's a lot of real peopleinvolved.
They are all they are all listen.
I am wholeheartedly holding out hope.
There you go.
So that's 5 times a day.
Heartedly holding out hope
hope that they are able to take this and trulymake it a great spectacle of golf for the whole
(01:41:11):
world to see like it should be week in and weekout.
The problem is it's the same people that aregonna be in charge.
Even if, listen, even if the the the the headof PIF, this O'Neill guy, hopefully, they push
Jay out because he doesn't he's a fuckingno-load.
And then you have and then, hopefully, youknow, some of the SSG guys step in and do what
(01:41:33):
they need to be doing.
But, I mean, if they leave it up to the playerslike they've done so far, it's gonna be the
exact same story.
The Presidents Cup was whatever.
You saw half the shots that actually happened.
The Ryder Cup's the same way.
And all you're gonna see is a bunch of fuckinghoopla about who's playing LIV versus PGA Tour,
and then you're gonna have the same shit.
It's gonna
You're right.
(01:41:54):
Fucking be super anticlimactic.
It it might be.
But if when that headline comes out that thatevent is going down
Yeah.
A ton of money, and then they're gonna watchit, and they're gonna be like, oh.
Well, it might be good.
I mean, dude, they they what are we on to?
Like, our 14th Vegas match or whatever betweena bunch of fucking celebrities or, like, every
(01:42:17):
single one of those is anticlimactic, butpeople still fucking eat it up.
Right?
Like Yeah.
Like Yeah.
But
that's my point, though.
It's like, if we're talking about it's gonna bean amazing thing, it's not, and we know it's
not.
Because people are I'm telling you, people areokay with that.
Yeah.
I understand that.
But if they're gonna if they're gonna trulymake this thing, you know, all about longevity
and and make sure this thing keeps pumping outand doesn't lose money every single fucking
(01:42:41):
year, which it does, you know, it needs tochange.
I think they're figuring out, Brent, thatthey're living in a world now where LIV Golf is
going to exist.
I which I love.
How do
you make the most amount of money knowing thatthey're going to exist and they're going to be
taking money away from other tour eventsbecause players are gonna be playing in these
(01:43:03):
team events?
Yep.
They might lose some more players that aregonna go over and play in these team events as
well as soon as this deal goes through.
Well, they'll structure the schedule around itfor sure.
They're gonna start benefiting from it becauseand this is the part of the deal that did not
get announced that LIV Golf is still gonna comeunder the PGA Tour Enterprises.
(01:43:25):
That's perfect.
So that's still gonna make
That's what I'm saying.
Right?
So, like, PGA Tour
a lot of money.
No.
I I don't disagree with you.
I think that there are enough corporatesponsors that will continue to so that that
will continue will continue to support the tourand the and the PIF is obviously, you know, a
(01:43:47):
$1 trillion fund, so they don't give a fuck.
But, you do look quite dapper in that fuckingthing.
In that in that jacket.
I I'm not gonna lie.
I was I was in there today with Buttsy, and Iwas just absolutely raping the warehouse
because I'm like, oh, I love that.
Oh, I love that.
Oh, shit.
I love that.
(01:44:07):
Oh, yeah.
I want that.
I want that.
I want that.
I think the list and I started feeling badafter a while because I'm just like, dude, I
think I could just take the entire collectionof everything.
That's that's I mean, some of these brands,man, I mean, they're making great stuff.
They are.
They're like, this is right up my alley with, like, what I would normally wear.
(01:44:30):
For sure.
Yeah.
The kinda New York style, little bit of littlebit of Phoenix wear.
Yeah.
It's
perfect.
Little streetwear action.
So I guess okay.
Here's my question to you guys.
If they can change how the tour is viewed orthe tournaments are viewed.
Right?
Whatever the format may be.
Ryder Cup style or team events or whatever.
(01:44:51):
If they could if they could change how it'sviewed, do you think that they will make even
more money than they would have, like, a truegrassroots get it grassroots kind of movement
that, you know, funds these things, and theyget more people coming to the tournaments, more
people watching on TV, more people spendingmoney, and it's more than just a
(01:45:12):
corporate-sponsored deal.
It's, you know, it's a lot of people behind itthroughout the world, and that's Well,
think about it.
That's the way to make it most.
Why does LIV Golf not have a TV deal?
Well, because the PGA Tour has decided thatthey're gonna
They blocked it.
They blocked it with everybody they possiblycould.
Did the same thing with sponsors.
(01:45:32):
Like, that cannot be denied.
That's not a conspiracy theory.
Everybody in the know knows that the PGA Tourblocked everything that LIV has been capable
of.
And guess what?
PIF knows it.
LIV obviously knows it.
And what happens when all of a sudden yourelease the hounds in terms of sponsors, TV
(01:45:53):
deals, and everything.
LIV Golf could actually really become somethingat that point.
And they're going to have people that areinterested in buying the franchises.
If you're able for an indoor golf league thatis fully conceptual to get some of the biggest
owners in the world in sports to go and buyfranchises, you better damn believe that
(01:46:15):
they're gonna be able to sell these LIV Golfteams to
have.
No.
Absolutely.
Lutely, Matt.
You are a
fucking percent.
Right?
Especially if they could if they could view itthe right way.
If they could if they could sell it to the tothe public that, hey.
This is not going to be your normal bullshitfive players five players for two hours, and
it's fucking everybody hitting shots.
(01:46:36):
You see it all over the place.
And, I mean, part of the argument has been thatthere's not enough money to get enough cameras
and enough people to view all these shots.
Well, I I think that's fucking well, LIVbullshit now.
LIV introduced to where every shot you canwatch online for whatever player you want to.
And the There's no commentary to some of theguys buying.
(01:47:00):
Is the product is gonna combine, and it's goingto be radically different than what we see
today.
And 10 years from now, it's going to be thenorm, and we're gonna look back on these early
days as, like, yeah.
I remember.
That's just what I think is gonna happen.
It's not going anywhere.
This is gonna be agree.
The one Some of these guys are gonna be
pioneers, man.
Totally agree.
(01:47:21):
I I don't think Mickelson, we might like, a lotof people shit on Phil and look down on him and
so forth because of all of what transpired andwhatnot.
But in the end, he's gonna be looked at as oneof these pioneers that took that leap and
actually built his legacy off of what he didfor LIV Golf and bringing guys over and so
forth.
(01:47:41):
He's not gonna die.
Real quick.
I do wanna get to Austin's question.
So is the PGA Tour Enterprises on the hook forRahm's deal and huge purses?
Or does PIF still fund those things?
You better believe that that's already donewith PIF.
So that's not gonna end up being on the PGATour Enterprises by any means.
Like, I still believe that a lot of the pursesand everything are gonna be funded by PIF,
(01:48:07):
especially early
And SSG and SSG for sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I think if anybody is looking to trashsomebody over you know, if you really, really
hate LIV, let listen.
I I I understand.
You know, I have my reservations about it, youknow, especially when I was on the Korn Ferry
Tour and it came up and I was getting ready tobe on the PGA Tour.
(01:48:27):
I thought they were taking away, from historyand all that other stuff.
And I and I said what I said, and and and Iwouldn't change what I said back then based on
like Doja Cat.
Bitch, I said what I said.
Say what I said.
Don't say it to my face.
But, you know, I think now, especially withwith what we found out, you know, when they
(01:48:50):
threw us all under the bus last year in, inCanada and then just the growing issues that
the PGA Tour has had.
I think the LIV is LIV, Greg Norman, PhilMickelson, and everybody with it, has done a
great job to to try to bring more people in thegolf.
And I just I mean, if you trash Phil, Iunderstand.
If you don't like him,
But, hey, think about all the fucking playersthat have made hundreds of millions of dollars
(01:49:14):
over the last two years because of what Phildid, period.
I mean, just, like, think of him as selfish ifyou want, but fuck.
He made a lot of guys a lot of money.
Let's get to this real quick with anti-LIV.
It's never going to combine.
He says, pitiful no longer fun LIV, and it willend in 2025.
PIF investment into the PGA Tour Enterprises isthe path forward.
(01:49:36):
So here's the, here's the whole entire thing.
Those players will combine.
Yes.
A great
player for sure.
And it's ultimately gonna be up to the PGA TourEnterprises if they wanna continue LIV beyond
2025.
It's going to last through 2025.
And I would be very surprised if becausebelieve it or not, LIV Golf has built a brand
(01:50:02):
and they have an infrastructure behind it.
And I feel like if you let that go at thispoint, it's a lost business opportunity.
And I don't think that's what's going tohappen.
I think they're going to remain separate.
I don't think they're gonna combine, but Ithink you're going to see guys on LIV being
able to play in PGA Tour events.
I think you're gonna see.
You're gonna see some guys from the PGA Tourside that are gonna have teams going into LIV
(01:50:24):
Golf.
Yep.
I mean, think about all the stuff around Rorygetting the team, Tony getting a team.
I guarantee you they're talking to Wyndham andall these other guys.
Right?
They've been talking to these guys for years, literally.
Two, three, four years about this stuff.
You can't tell me that when everybody comesback, they're not gonna have a, quote, unquote,
world tour.
That's what I was just
(01:50:44):
saying.
Events.
They
Yeah.
They will sublet it out.
They may not call it LIV or whatever, but theywill sublet that format.
That format will exist.
There you go.
I think it's a ridiculous notion to think thatwith them changing the PGA towards the top 100,
that they're not gonna be able to finagle theirway into changing the schedule, getting rid of
(01:51:08):
tournaments, and saying, hey.
There's 10 teams, there's 13 teams with thebest players, and you all gotta tune in on ESPN
or whatever it is and watch every shot, andthey can sell these guys and they can sell the
teams and make an absolute ridiculous amount ofmoney.
Do you guys think it's gonna be like Oprah?
You get a team.
(01:51:29):
You get a team.
You get a team.
Everybody gets a team.
You take the top 13 players.
If you combine LIV and the PGA Tour, you takethe top 13 players and then just go on down
from there.
And that's basically what it's gonna be.
You get the top, you know, whatever it is, topthree, top four guys on each team and just send
it.
Eight events making $100,000,000 an event.
(01:51:52):
That's nothing to
those guys.
Stand here.
And send it.
Now the last thing around this whole entire LIVGolf updates is, obviously, last week, we found
out about the fact that Tony Finau is not goingto LIV Golf.
K?
He's not?
There are no golfers right now.
There are no golfers.
(01:52:13):
There are no golfers right now in negotiationswith LIV.
Well, why would there be?
Are you sure?
This one, this one I
am sure about.
I'd have
to kill you.
Look.
Is that what that is?
No.
This one is I have talked to enough people thatTony was their last grab before he said no,
(01:52:39):
creating this deal.
I mean, so, like,
Tony backed out, by the way.
So Tony debunked everything.
He's like, I was.
Now granted, did he deny being in negotiations?
No.
Because a member of his team was in negotiationso that we know, but he did say that he's not
going.
And any reports that were stating that he wasgoing were not credible, is what he said.
(01:53:03):
Okay.
Yeah.
I mean, why fuck it?
Why if all you gotta do is wait 13 monthsbefore you could just basically start making
$100 million by playing 15, 20 events, why thefuck would you go when you can play in all four
majors and fuck.
I mean, these guys make so much money.
(01:53:24):
The only reason why a Jon Rahm would have goneis because he wanted to have generational
wealth, and then 15 minutes into the season,he's like, oops.
Fuck.
I can't, you know, shouldn't have done that.
And it's and Brent,
are you disappointed?
Because you might have been somebody that wouldhave been on Tony's team.
(01:53:44):
Oh, listen.
If if Tony gave me the call if Tony gave me thecall and dapped me up and was like, listen.
You're in?
Sure.
Until then, it's, it was all a pipe dream.
I'm telling you, they are missing out on a realopportunity for the Utah Sokers.
They really are.
I agree.
(01:54:05):
I agree.
Here he
goes again with the fucking Utah Sokers.
It might be the best team name in sports, inall of sports.
I guess my question to you guys and also thechat.
I mean, what, like, what does it really looklike if the PGA Tour says, fuck it.
(01:54:26):
You know, we're gonna take the top 50 playersand combine them with, you know?
And that, by the way, that includes guys likeBrooks and Dustin and Jon and DeChambeau, and
says, you know what?
We're just gonna go do our own thing over here.
We're gonna, you know, size down the PGA Tour, size down everything else, and, you know, just
(01:54:47):
go off and do our own thing.
I mean, what other things would investmentfirms want other than their best possible
product out there for a limited amount of time, make demand super high, and then all of a
sudden, they make a shitload of money.
I mean, I just I don't see how complicated itis for these guys to do that.
They're already chopping the PGA Tour down tosize anyways.
(01:55:07):
Well
So why not?
Get anybody on this.
With the PIF investment, the Hero definitelybecomes the fifth major.
Oh, without a doubt.
It already is.
I mean, come on.
The Players is dog shit compared to the HeroWorld Challenge.
We all know.
The sheikh, what's his name?
By the way, so to Austin's point
on my end.
I think there's guys that are going to comeback or not going to come back to the PGA Tour.
(01:55:32):
Yeah.
Is that like Kevin?
Kevin Na or Cam Smith?
probably never coming back.
He's happy with his life over in Australia.
Fishing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He doesn't want to play in more tournamentsthan he has to.
No.
Then you've got a guy like Scottie Schefflerprobably never gonna have a LIV Golf team.
Well, let's see.
But, again, we're assuming that it's gonna bein the same places that it is now.
(01:55:55):
And to be honest, I think it's gonna be waymore Europe.
They may have one or two events in Asia, maybe, but it's gonna be at a time of year where it's
convenient for these guys.
They get flown over.
They get they get site fees.
They get all kinds of shit, show up to a dinnerand make a million fucking dollars.
I mean, it's the same it's the same the the oldHSBC when they had it in, I think it was in
(01:56:19):
Hong Kong.
Bubba Watson won it once or twice.
They got paid to show up.
Yeah.
Oh, they definitely got a Oh.
They got paid to show up.
So you need Tiger Tiger paid a puppy in in
I thought you said site fee.
Yeah.
Site fee.
It's it's
Like, they get it's okay.
It's an appearance fee.
Yeah.
Appearance fee.
Okay.
(01:56:39):
I
don't know if they can
see.
I mean, Tiger played in Turkey for years justbecause because they fucking paid him to be
there.
So, I mean, to think that Scottie wouldn't goover and play.
It is funny because Scottie, Scottie's one ofthese guys that I think he would surprise us.
I mean, he's playing in a damn The Match withRory McIlroy against Brooks and Bryson.
(01:57:03):
So, I mean, Scottie Scheffler, and he waspretty funny.
Did you guys hear the press conference with himat the Hero World Challenge?
People were like, "Hey, Tiger joined you foryour practice round," or whatever the hell that
they called it.
And they're like, "What were you guys chattingabout?" And he's like, "Oh, you know how the
Ryder Cup, like we should be paid a lot ofmoney and that it's bullshit we don't get paid
(01:57:28):
a lot of money." And he was just trolling, andhe was trying to keep a straight face
throughout it.
And he's like, "And then, you know, we talkedabout," and he just kept going down the list of
things that you would not expect.
So he's starting to get really comfortable.
And that's the thing.
I think we're gonna start to see ScottieScheffler's real personality start to come out.
(01:57:48):
He's a funny guy.
Yeah.
He kinda is.
He's just understated because, honestly, hedoesn't give the media a whole lot.
And now that it's the end of the year, he wonnine times.
He made $100 million.
Fuck it.
Just send it.
Send it.
Send it.
You know?
Scottie learned how to pump.
Scottie learned how to—he'd been—he's beenputting good for all year.
(01:58:10):
I mean, Jesus, it's pretty unbelievable.
Should we send it?
Send it.
Night night.
Live.
Hold on.
So what did anti-LIV say?
The U.S.
fans rejected LIV and
Here.
Let me pull
it up.
Are you
still on
The first bottle there, Matt?
Are you beyond?
Because you've gotten awfully quiet, Buttsy.
(01:58:31):
Well, I'm not gonna position yourself againstthe tree.
Oh, no.
I finished that.
I went on to two extracurricular whiskeycoffees, and now I'm on to a High Noon here.
So
Oh my gosh.
So I'm just 9:11.
That's impressive.
That's impressive.
Like, a fifth?
What is that?
No.
So what people don't realize, Buttsy and I weretalking about this today with the Devereux
(01:58:53):
guys, is that
I feel like I missed out.
Our very first episode we did together was theWaste Management Open special this past month.
And we did it inside of a drive box.
And what I didn't realize until I startedpacking stuff up is we showed up with three
bottles of Bushwood Spirits at the time, threebottles
(01:59:15):
of whiskey.
And at the end, two of them were gone.
Like, there were only two people drinking thatnight, and it was Buttsy and I.
Well, hell of an episode, by the way.
One of the all-time favorites.
If you guys go back and listen to the WasteManagement Open special from last year, I don't
know how we're going to top that next year, butwe will.
(01:59:37):
We top it every week.
I mean, come on, guys.
We top it every week.
Oh, yeah.
So what is this anti-LIV?
So first of all, why is he anti-LIV?
Is it because it's truly
I think it's because he doesn't like the LIVTour.
Well, you should think.
But, I mean, I guess, you know, we all have
(01:59:58):
we all have our reservations,
but,
I could be wrong.
I feel like not quite sure the name gave itaway.
I don't know.
Like, I don't know.
You know, it's just kinda weird.
Us, the U.S.
fans rejected LIV Golf, LIV and team golf, soVCs.
This is
the third time I've pulled this up for Brent.
Sorry.
I just it's just it's odd because I spoke tothe
(02:00:20):
people.
You drinking?
I was coffee and then water.
I feel like you're hammered compared to Buttsyand I.
No.
I'm sitting out in the 40 degrees in here.
It's 40 degrees out here.
I'm fucking shaking.
He's freezing.
Little yourself a fucking Sherpa out there.
I do need no.
I need a Devro Sherpa.
No.
Just some Ground 20 style, the fucking blackswan.
(02:00:41):
I told you.
I asked for one of those fucking swan.
You know what?
I've got one on the way for you.
I actually got one on the way for you.
It's coming.
Anyways.
No.
I'm serious.
Oh, really?
I'm dead serious.
And Buttsy, you're double X.
Right?
Not to throw you on the spot.
So I spoke to I spoke to, a bunch of themembers at The Grove this year because I'm an
(02:01:04):
honorary member out there.
It's in Nashville.
They had their largest turnout, of any Weird
Flex, bro.
Yeah.
That this is
Just saying.
I'm giving you
a little bit of insight to what was going on atthat LIV tour event.
Oh, I got all the fucking info.
Tell you the biggest problem was that theydidn't have enough beer.
That was the biggest problem.
They had
You don't even drink beer.
(02:01:24):
They had thousands and thousands of people outthere, and they fucking had a blast.
And so the fact that he's saying that theyrejected it, I think, is inaccurate.
But that's just me.
He drank so much Dasani, you shit your pants.
I'm more of an Aquafina guy.
I will say this.
I know a PGA Tour guy that went to a LIV Golfevent because it was nearby.
(02:01:47):
Mhmm.
And he is one of the biggest haters on, x whenit comes to LIV Golf.
And he went to the event?
Went to the event.
He went to the fucked him a weirdo.
No.
Hang on a sec because he wanted to see what itwas all about.
And he came back, and he told me he goes, itwas actually mine.
It was actually pretty cool.
Well, we had a bunch of drinks, a bunch of loudmusic and great players.
(02:02:08):
I can't believe it was fun.
That's so fucking weird, dude.
I can't even believe it.
He he and by the way, he he has backed off of alot of his hatred around LIV Golf ever since.
I wonder.
Because he is a dumb.
Brad, I'll I'll tell you off air, but I can'ttell you.
I already know who it is.
Yeah.
I mean, listen.
Like I said, I had plenty of hate for it ifwe're gonna talk about the the the Saudis and
(02:02:32):
and 9/11 and all that other bullshit.
We're not talking about that has nothing to dowith nothing.
That's what I'm saying is why people may hatethe LIV tour.
I get it.
Well, it was the narrative that got built bythe media in the PGA Tour.
That's my point, is that it's just
I always had an issue with the
whole thermite that they found underneath thosetowers.
Hey.
Tower 7.
Tower 7.
We don't need to get into that.
(02:02:53):
I am not trying to turn into fucking Alex Jonesright now.
Okay?
Hey.
Did I We're on this hour.
We can
start talking about conspiracy theories.
I'm gonna tell you right now, I got buddiesthat were stopped by a security guard telling
them to go back to their offices and the Tower1 was already on, like, on fire and they went
(02:03:13):
past him, and they're like, fuck you.
We're going down the stairs.
And they went down, like, 50 stories of stairsand just got out in time.
My god.
Yeah.
I'm telling you, man.
It's just yeah.
We can talk about that all day, but I have myown personal reasons why.
We we just headed down a damn rabbit hole withthat one.
Let's let's let's not go change
(02:03:35):
of gears here.
I'm not trying to get assassinated.
Come on, Jimmy.
You tell them.
Bring that one.
Oh my God.
I do have I do have something.
I do have something to mention here that isbased off of Jimmy's comments here about the
fact that Buttsy looks like Alex Jones.
We had a hater on X and there was a clip ofButtsy and I.
(02:03:58):
And he goes, wow, look at the team move versionof Pat McAfee and Alex Jones.
And I'm like, that's pretty fucking good.
Like, I was like, that's that's good trollingright there.
Like, you had to give it up for him.
That was Todd Dobson level trolling rightthere.
Yeah.
And that guy looks like a fucking carrot.
(02:04:18):
Fuck that guy.
Son of a bitch.
That's
so weird.
Alex Jones.
I think Dylan Beaudry might be a little drunk.
I think I still think top
The Quran.
People.
I
I haven't heard about the
Quran in
a while.
Very guys.
Top 50 Korn Ferry?
It's the Quran.
(02:04:40):
What the fuck is this?
What the Quran?
That's what the Muslims read.
That's what they believe in.
Quran.
Let's all take a moment.
God, that's fantastic.
That's enough of that.
Oh, man.
What's on the next what's up what's up next?
What do we got going on?
Bro, you missed one letter in this game, andyou are fucking grilled.
(02:05:00):
I thought he meant Korean
at first.
I said, what?
One too many drinks, which you kinda have todrink with us in order to really follow along
the same, like, frequency and wavelength thatwe've got going on here.
Yeah.
Or do you
do Yeah.
Put it in put it into an AI thing before youfucking copy the.
He probably did, and they fucking and
(02:05:20):
they often corrected.
Korn Ferry.
Yeah.
That's It's the Quran.
Yeah.
I would say some weird shit.
It would be like, the man that is known asButtsy has a similar build in shape with weight
as well to the Alex Jones.
That's what AI would say.
1 (1 ms 13 ms 14s):
We might need to do an episode where we do likethe voice version of ChatGPT and we get into it
(02:05:44):
and we're like, does Buttsy resemble AlexJones?
4 ms
17s) (02:05:47):
I'm going to literally make myself look
like Alex Jones.
I'm gonna shave all my hair except for a couplelittle twiddling on top.
I'm gonna spray red paint on my face so that myfucking diabetes and blood pressure are through
the fucking roof.
And then and I'm gonna wear an outfit thatlooks like my head's sticking out of the top of
the Twin Towers.
(02:06:07):
I gotta tell you, man.
I felt like it was a compliment when we gotcalled the Timu version of Pat McAfee and Alex
Jones.
I really did.
Timu is great, though.
I got someone.
Scotty Cameron.
So does that make me the Timu version of AaronRodgers?
That doesn't make any sense.
Did you just self-appoint your you make it?
Well, I'm just saying.
Who else am I gonna be the fucking Timu versionof?
(02:06:31):
It's the past 2-hour mark.
We can say whatever we want.
Yeah.
Brent, I do have to say, though, if you'regonna take on the Aaron Rodgers role on Pat
McAfee, which Alex Jones isn't on Pat McAfee,by the way.
But if you were to take on the Aaron Rodgers, you would have to start doing some Ayahuasca.
He just said
(02:06:52):
that he looks like Aaron Rodgers, and he saidthat about himself.
Yeah.
And he would have to go down
I would have to
go down.
To, like, Chile and do some Ayahuasca.
He would have to go into the darkness and sitin the silence for seven days.
He looks like Maverick in the first Top Gun,dude.
No.
He looks like Goose.
Not Goose.
(02:07:12):
Goose.
Yeah.
The mustache, dude.
It's the mustache.
No.
He's more of a Goose than he is a Maverick.
I'll tell you
that.
No.
No.
No.
No.
I don't like that.
By the way, don't fucking No.
Piss those little fuckers off.
Arizona golf courses do not do anything.
Well, there's your fucking tip, Buttsy, thefucking golfers before the round.
(02:07:35):
Don't don't piss off.
Who are we talking about?
The Canadian geese.
I've seen so many attacks.
Just
The geese, man.
They don't give a fuck about you or yourfamily.
No.
It's the it's the toad.
Yeah.
Toadstool, actually, to be
Well, I I'm I'll I'll say it right now.
Ayahuasca is more of the journey to, like, getto a place to, like, you're dealing with a lot
(02:07:59):
of entities out there with the Ayahuasca tripfrom what I know of.
But the toad venom, you just you go to thesource.
You come right back.
So, yeah, straight into the fucking secondmatrix.
Now, Aaron Rodgers is a seeker of truth.
So I feel like Brent, you could be our seekerof truth and you could go down to Chile, do
(02:08:20):
some Iowa.
By the way, did you see that Aaron Rodgers has, like, a documentary coming out called Into the
Darkness, I believe?
I
will watch it.
I will watch it on Ayahuasca.
It shows him doing the Ayahuasca trip.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
You know what's incredible about that guy is,you know, he's still playing at, you know, 82
(02:08:42):
years old with one leg and making a bunch ofmoney playing football.
And his team sucks, but it doesn't matterbecause he's Aaron Rodgers, and he did
Ayahuasca.
So, you know, that immediately makes him cool.
I feel like he's done Ayahuasca several timesat this point.
Why wouldn't you if you've got that much moneyin a fucking private jet?
Just fly down, you know, two weeks.
I'll tell
you right now, I did the toad venom, and Idon't know if I really wanna go on the
(02:09:06):
Ayahuasca trip.
Well, I mean, I'll tell
you this, and this is not from personalexperience.
This is somebody I know.
But if you take four tabs of acid and smoke aJeffrey
Is it Jeffrey laced with heroin?
Don't know.
It's,
like I said, this wasn't me.
Okay?
Somebody I know, but, that will teach you everyoh, and then listen.
(02:09:29):
Oh, no.
That's a Jimmy, by the way.
That is a Jimmy, and I only know this becauseof some weird reason.
Lana, then turn on the alternative EDM band,Shpongle.
Shpongle?
Yeah.
Oh, fuck.
Why why is Brent going absolutely berserk overShpongle?
Because we did do that.
Yeah.
We did that.
You'll you'll learn everything you need to knowabout the world.
(02:09:52):
You learn everything you need to know about thealter ego of that man sitting over there on the
corner.
Oh, shit.
Lost here, gents.
Yeah.
I'm inside joke.
It's really good.
Inside joke.
This one is south, Greg.
The Shpongle.
Yeah.
Oh, listen to some of that before you go to bedtonight.
If you did the toad venom, it'll take you rightback to that thing's asshole, whatever.
(02:10:14):
Pooped that venom out.
I I don't think it will.
Don't do that.
Don't do that.
I'm gonna tell you right now.
I don't think it will.
Is a zero out of 10, people.
I you listen to for over a minute.
If you
get past the one-minute mark, you're gonna feellike Indiana Jones, like, some fucking
aborigine in a jungle is gonna shoot you with adart.
(02:10:35):
Wow.
That's where you're gonna be.
Wait.
Can you say that five times fast?
Aborigine.
Just just the word aborigine.
That is a three.
That's a cadence to say that.
Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, 30, 80 points a game.
Give us a little Arnold.
(02:10:55):
What do you want?
Anything.
I feel like why don't you why don't you take ushome with a little Arnold?
Rubber baby buggy bumpers.
Yeah.
Tell me about your day today, Arnold.
I'm not getting it, dude.
You just left.
And you backed me into a corner, and then Iwoke up the next day terrified about what came
(02:11:18):
out of the day now.
Oh, I
can tell you.
You know, what I what I will tell you, though,is, when we were filming, on the set of Die
Hard.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Die Hard Die Hard Forward Avengers.
Me and Samuel L.
Jackson, we ran into this, there was a little, fountain.
Right?
Because there were bombs that they put intothese schools.
(02:11:39):
Right?
And they were gonna blow up these kids.
So what we had to do was we had to take thisjug of water, and and I had to get him to do
it.
We had to put the right amount of water in thisjug and then put it in the right amount this
way.
And then the guy got sprayed in the face with abunch of candy from the fucking vending
machine.
Right?
But they found the bombs and saved those kids.
(02:12:00):
That's great.
That's Bruce.
Don't forget your feet, Bruce.
No.
I got the baddest fucker feet there is.
I threw Hans Brick off.
Now is that a
Christmas movie?
No.
It is.
Yeah.
It's a Christmas movie.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Christmas movie.
That's what everybody says, you know, but I'mnot real partial.
(02:12:20):
