(00:11):
Welcome back everybody to Pull Hook Golf, thepodcast.
I'm your host, Matt Cook.
Tonight, we've got Buttsy.
We've got Brent Grant.
And my goodness gracious, do we have
an epic—okay, that's enough—an epic, epic showfor all of you.
(00:33):
We've got the tee-off report with Buttsy.
Yes, folks.
We're back with the tee-off report with my man,Buttsy.
And then we've got the Waste Management PhoenixOpen that just finished up this past weekend.
That was here locally.
Absolutely had a blast out there.
I know Buttsy did too.
And then, sure enough, we've got a little KornFerry, Bogotá update from our dear tour insider
(00:56):
lad here, mister Brent Grant.
And then folks, we've got the upcoming Genesisat Torrey Pines, not Riv, which is I wonder how
I'm gonna be feeling this weekend because
Absent of the big cat.
Well, absent of the big cat.
The big cat's not playing because his motherpassed away, wasn't ready.
Oh,
seriously?
Yeah.
It well, she passed away last Tuesday and, sureenough, he said he's just not ready to deal
(01:20):
with that and have to be in front of the mediaand so forth.
But he is gonna be on-site, so we shall seethat.
But, I don't know how I'm gonna feel with itbeing at Torrey Pines.
Like, Riv is one of my favorite golf courses, period.
So I do hope that we have a good tournament.
We were just at Torrey Pines a few weeks ago.
(01:42):
I did hear there's gonna be quite a bit ofweather.
Interested.
Exactly.
We've also got a LIV Golf update here, and thenwe've got an update on the PIF PGA Tour deal.
So finally, some movement around that entireordeal.
I've got some details for all of you.
Mhmm.
And then folks, we do wanna give a quick littleshout out to our sponsor.
(02:05):
We're rocking the gear tonight.
Good old Devereux Golf.
That is d e v e r e u x golf dot com.
Buttsie's got it on.
I've got it on.
Brent's got it on underneath.
Fucking sweater, bud.
It's got a pack of red.
Hoo.
Try you need that hoodie, man.
But they just had that drop with Johnny Walker.
(02:25):
And I tell you what, I mean, this one was fromtheir Southwestern drop, I believe.
But that's beautiful.
This is just a DG, which, my wife was like, isthat Dolce & Gabbana?
Did you buy yourself a Dolce & Gabbana pull up?
I'm like yep.
Devereux, you're doing it right.
Totally.
Absolutely.
I freaking love it.
So, here we go.
Once again, go to devereuxgolf.com.

Let's get into it.
We've got the tee-off report with the big man,the Buttsy.
And, Buttsy, I gotta ask you because last week, you know, we did the Johnny Walker Devereux
(03:08):
golf event at Puttshack and you came directlyfrom one of those influencer events where, you
know, all the cool kids get to go and play somegolf.
But, Buttsy, what's the worst thing aboutplaying in one of those influencer events?
That's correct, Matt.
I did come from an influencer event.
(03:31):
I think cool is a very relative word in thatcase.
People don't get it.
Yeah.
It's, you know, and I'm probably been guilty ofthis in the past myself, especially when I
first started doing social media, but this isjust a cesspool of influencers that don't know
(03:52):
one another, that act like they know oneanother, and just suck on each other all day,
sharing stories and getting in videos andcollabing and basically just trying to, like,
pawn each other's follow—I don't know.
Like, like, siphon each other's followers.
Right?
It's like a collective of influencers, andmaybe that got—and you can tell.
(04:14):
Like, Good Good.
Everybody's sucking off Good Good.
How can we get in a Good Good video?
And then it kinda goes down the mountain.
Right?
Like, you can tell based on follower countliterally where the most people are hovering
around, trying to get on the and trying to beseen with those guys.
And then they're sharing with them, and thenthere's third-tier sharing and suck off, and
(04:35):
it's just crazy.
You gotta love the third-tier suck off.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
And it's very true.
And I think it goes all the way down like thefood pyramid.
I think we get to, like, eighth or ninth tierdown even though what we call that.
We call that Chinese food.
Yeah.
So that's how it went.
That said, I saw some OGs in the game.
(04:58):
I did walk up to and meet some people that I dofollow, and put a face to the name.
They're really cool folks.
Teal Barber, he was awesome.
Sunny
That just sounds awesome.
Teal Barber.
Yeah.
He's a cool dude.
And if you don't follow Teal, he's, like, pretty authentic.
One of the funniest motherfuckers on the 'gramdoing original stuff, not copying other people,
which is kind of my thing.
So, yeah, it was fun, man.
(05:20):
Those events, they're good and bad.
It's kinda what you make of it.
But for the most part, outside looking in, youcan sit in the back and kinda watch this go
down with all the folks, and it's veryinteresting.
And that hits that I'm and then by the way, wasn't it like a ridiculous amount of time?
Like, talk about the PGA Tour needing to speedup play.
(05:45):
Yeah.
So we had our pod at what was it?
Three?
Three o'clock.
So game time there was 9:00 in the morning.
I left on the 10th tee box, and that gave meall of about 45 minutes to get up to you if
that gives you any how slow this went.
If it's you're not you I think you're actuallyplaying three or four holes all day.
(06:07):
The rest are, like, paid hole-in-ones.
You know?
$500, and you can have will fly a grown-up tothe hole and drop the ball.
Now you automatically get a two, but if it goesin, you get a one.
Yeah.
I think the winner shot, like, 34-under
or something like that.
So
Good lord.
34-under.
You gotta absolutely love that.
(06:29):
We're getting some good comments in tonight aswell.
Feel free, folks.
If you're on X or on YouTube watching thislive, feel free to chime in.
We will see your comments and we'll get themposted up here if they're good.
Now as we continue beyond the influencer sideof things, we've got the Waste Management
Phoenix Open that we just finished up this pastweekend.
(06:53):
And boy oh boy, it was a pretty good event.
I mean, for the most part, let me just take youguys through a quick rundown here.
I know, Buttsy, you were out there on Saturday.
I was out there a couple times throughout theweek.
Thursday, especially, got to be in the 16thsuite with, Devro Golf and Johnnie Walker.
But Thomas Detry, that whole deal, I don't,dude, I've said this numerous times in sports
(07:22):
that, like, when a guy can't overcome underpressure, they choke.
And then for the next, like, year or so, theydon't talk about anything that they've changed.
And you're just like, how are you going?
Like, you're just all of a sudden gonna be goodin that moment.
Thomas Detry though, he had problems closingout golf tournaments.
(07:44):
And this month that
was like watching Rocco and Tiger.
It was like watching Michael Jordan drain ajumper against the Utah Jazz, my friend.
Like, he did not falter.
And he was cool, calm, collected.
Afterwards, he talks about I've been doing ashit ton of meditation, and when I got onto
that first tee on the final round, I had nonerves whatsoever.
(08:07):
And I'm telling you right now, it showed.
That dude and that is not an environment, bythe way, that is calm.
That, you know, you can just get by and withoutthe crowd like messing with you a little bit.
And yes, you had Scottie Scheffler coming upfrom behind.
You had Jordan Spieth coming up from behind.
That sounds really dirty.
(08:28):
But, Buttsy, tell me, since they were coming upfrom behind, like, how nerve-wracking can that
be?
I just think, between everybody that was outthere, is it Detry?
Detry?
Thomas Detry.
Electric personality, probably one of the moreoutgoing, entertaining people I've ever seen on
(08:49):
tour in my life.
Glad-handing all the fans down 18.
He couldn't even tell he was playing to win agolf tournament.
So I don't know about the meditation or any ofthat.
That didn't shine through for me.
But this guy's got a lot of wins in his future.
Might, might go out on a limb and say that heeclipses Tiger in total tour wins.
(09:16):
You alright?
Continue.
Continue.
You might all the way back up.
You might
might go out on a limb and say that he eclipsesTiger in total tour wins by the
time the river
is over.
Why might?
Just say it.
Where is it?
I mean, spot on.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
Fun coming through the clouds.
You could just see it like an act of God.
Like, this is him.
(09:37):
He is Neo from The Matrix, and that's what wesaw.
So yeah.
Wow.
That is fantastic analysis.
Folks, if you can't tell, I'm starting to sweatnow just because of that insane, amazing
analysis out of Buttsy.
I mean, just he's a connoisseur of sorts, ofplayers.
(09:58):
He knows players.
You ask, man, and I'm here to tell you, and, like, I haven't been wrong about any of this.
So truly authentic.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I can't recall the last time that you werewrong about anything.
I mean, you were spot on with Anthony Kim.
That was Yeah.
I mean, he's back.
He's back.
So he's back.
We long time.
(10:20):
Oh, man.
So he wins by seven at a crowd-infused placethat is not easy to win.
I mean, we've seen guys choke.
We saw Sahith Theegala choke a victory, right?
On 17, he hit it into the water on the left, asI recall, coming down the stretch and blew it.
So, I mean, this is not an easy golf course towin and to win by seven over some of those
(10:45):
names that I mentioned.
And let's do a little leaderboard rundown here.
So good old Michael Kim, the Twitter sensationhimself.
He's been really good on Twitter.
17 under T-2.
Daniel Berger, which we found out during thebroadcast, has more of Justin Thomas's money
than anybody else that Justin Thomas playsagainst.
(11:07):
Christiaan Bezuidenhout was T-4 along withJordan Spieth.
Spieth looked like he was back this week.
However, he still was on some adventures.
He loves the wildlife in Arizona, loves hangingout with some desert animals, and sure enough,
it showed.
Justin Thomas, minus 15.
He holed out on the last, I believe.
(11:30):
And then Wilt Chandler, T-6.
So Will Chandler was a Monday qualifier.
We'll get into that story here in a second.
Robert MacIntyre, T-6 at 15 under.
Adam Hadwin, the Canadian at 14.
Taylor Moore, 14 under.
And Maverick McNealy, 14 under.
So that's your leaderboard wrap-up there forthe Waste Management Phoenix Open.
(11:54):
And I just I gotta give a shout-out, first ofall, to the Thunderbirds.
Yeah.
Because they cleaned up that tournament.
They knew after last year, this has gone toofar.
And I don't know about you, Buttsy, you wereout there on the busiest day.
I decided not to go Saturday.
So
They they rung it in, man.
They they brought it back to its brilliance, Ithink, right, where it was right on the edge.
(12:19):
And that's where it usually is, and that's whenit's
the most fun.
And, we saw that again this year.
So I
don't think people—I mean, you had a lot ofvariables last year.
You had the rain and the mud and, like, shutdown parking lots, lines of people that weren't
intended to be marching by each other.
Absolutely.
Anyways, yeah, it was way better.
It was
and you could really tell because of socialmedia because social media did not have all the
(12:45):
clips that you normally see of just debauchery.
It was all from years past.
Like, I'm like, oh, I've seen that one before.
Oh, I've seen that one before.
So ladies falling down the hill sliding andstuff.
Yeah.
Not a lot of that this year.
It was—it was—that was the unfortunate thing.
But, yeah, I feel like they got the digitaltickets going.
So the past two years, they had it to wherethey just stopped checking tickets because it
(13:10):
got too crowded.
So people were calling up their friends saying, get down here.
And, sure enough, everybody was just gettinginto the golf tournament, and it was just—I've
talked to a cop that was out there last yearand he's like, there's over—there's over a
million people on-site right now, which isinsane for a golf event.
So that's why it was a bit wild and crazy inyears past, but again, that's something that
(13:35):
the Thunderbirds cleaned up and we're greatlyappreciative for because, yes, there's drunken
fun and then there is debauchery.
And there was some drunken fun out there and itwas all good time.
So really appreciate them doing that.
Let's get into, by the way, the last Monday Qever at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
(13:58):
Can we get a moment of silence?
It's the last Monday Q ever, which, BrentGrant, he decided not to play in the final
Monday Q ever because he ended up getting intoBogotá, which is next.
But, I mean, Brent, how do you feel?
Let's talk to a player who actually was gonnaplay in the Monday qualifier.
(14:21):
What did you think about that?
I mean, it being the last one.
Well, obviously, it's tragic.
And as we know, most PGA Tour winners, youknow, that win come from the Monday qualifying
category.
So that's gonna be a huge loss.
But, other than that, I have actually neverplayed in the Waste Management Monday
qualifier.
(14:42):
It was always at McCormick Ranch and alwayscame at a time when I was gone.
So, honestly, when I was on the PGA Tour, and Ididn't get into the Waste Management, it was a
nice week off.
So it was nice not to have to play.
But, honestly, we've seen this coming.
(15:02):
We knew that, you know, a lot of things weregonna change, are gonna change next year.
And, obviously, you know, guys like PatrickReed and the major champions that he kinda goes
along with are all gonna be, you know, nonexistent now.
So, you know, they're cutting huge portions ofthe PGA Tour out.
(15:22):
So it's tragic.
It really sucks.
It really does.
I even posted where I'm like, man, this golftournament changed Will Zalatoris' life.
I mean, $300,000 finishing in the top 10.
It's unbelievable.
So, his year has definitely shifteddrastically.
Do they head back to the East Coast afterGenesis?
(15:45):
I think they do go play the Cognizant.
Yeah.
The Cognizant.
So you gotta be cognizant of the
Honda only north of the
Yeah.
See?
There you go.
And then we got our East Coast swing, and thenwe got the Masters not too far away either
coming up in April.
So looking forward to the golf we've got goingon.
But, you know, let's let's keep it moving.
(16:08):
Keep it moving.
Keep it fresh.
Real real quick, Matty.
Do we have, like, an anniversary coming up, ordid we pass that?
It's coming up.
It's in March.
Sorry.
Well, heart flutter there.
Yeah.
Oh, well, hang on a second.
You and I have an anniversary.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The waste pause.
It was the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
(16:30):
That is always going to be our first time, having doing a, co-hosted show together.
Yeah.
Cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thanks for reminding me.
I've I actually, you know, I was thinking aboutthe big the when the show started going back
in, March three years ago, but, poof.
(16:52):
And this is episode And
I was like, we did the oh, yeah.
It's almost yeah.
This is episode 160.
Can you believe it?
And we're still on air.
We haven't been arrested or kicked off yet oranything like that.
I mean, it's incredible.
It's impressive.
Absolutely love it.
Brent, this is this is your moment, buddy, because I mentioned you did not play the Monday
(17:15):
queue for the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
You instead decided to go to Bogotá.
Yep.
Sure did.
So yeah.
Oh, man.
(17:35):
I always love going there.
It's actually one of my favorite tournamentsevery year, despite the weather.
But, yeah, it was great.
Flying high at 8,600 feet, smoking greatcigars, and they have beautiful scenery out
there.
Unfortunately, it's a third-world country, so Ikinda keep it, you know, locked up.
But, but, mirror mirror.
(17:58):
Anyways, yeah.
So Kyle Westmoreland went and got it done.
First win on the Korn Ferry Tour, since turningprofessional in 2019—2017, excuse me.
Formerly, U.S.
Air Force captain.
So, definitely appreciate him and his service.
But, yeah, talk to him a little bit on thephone.
He's let's see.
(18:18):
You you'll you'll appreciate this.
He's six foot three, two hundred and twentypounds, and he hits it probably further than
anybody on the tour on either tour.
So I appreciate that.
Yep.
Yeah.
I know you love the long ball.
So, but, yeah, it's, it was playing super soft.
So, the fact that a long ball hitter got itdone meant that he was able to control his
distance better than anybody.
(18:39):
So, congrats to him, and, yeah.
Yeah.
It was great.
Certainly would have been rather you know, would have rather played the Waste Management,
rather than the Monday, but, happy to get intoan event when I can.
Guys, Trot golfer certainly helped us out here.
They go to Mexico.
They go to Vidanta.
So that used to be the, over at Greg Norman'sgolf course before LIV Golf took that one over.
(19:05):
But, yeah.
You're right.
That used to be that used to be at, Mayakoba.
That's correct.
Yeah.
Love that.
And then, that's not that wasn't the common Iwas and then they go to Florida after that with
the Cognizant.
So yes.
I thought Thank you, Austin Whittington, forhelping us out there as well.
Now Jake Knapp.
Right?
Jake Knapp?
(19:25):
I do have to ask you, though.
Hang on a second.
Hang on a second.
I gotta ask Brent.
Brent, what the fuck happened in the secondround in holes one and two?
Fucking
great question.
I've seen
that as well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You you didn't think I'm five.
I mean, you think I'm going to just absolutelylet that go by the wayside?
Well, you could've.
No.
Ball up for you.
(19:45):
Right?
No.
God, no.
No.
I played the first round, got, knocked somerust off.
And then, on the second round, it's, honestly,I hate to say this, but the greens the first
green specifically was about two foot faster, than the putting green, which is no excuse.
But I'd weigh I I literally four putted.
(20:06):
Just literally?
You four putted?
There's rope
That's how you made it.
Yeah.
Off the yeah.
So I hit I I hit two really good shots, andthen all three of my all all both of my playing
partners hit it, you know, in the same vicinityas I did about 40 foot up the hill.
And I putted the first one and just it kept ongoing.
And, and then, yeah, the rest is, as they say, history on that hole.
(20:32):
And then the next one just hit one off the treeand it ricocheted about 50 yards left out of
bounds.
So that's pretty much it.
These things happen.
It's just golf.
Well, I do have a funny Brent Grant story thatI got from David Giese who, was caddying for,
what's his face?
Know this story?
Harris English.
And good old Harris, he was, he was very upsetthroughout the round, and David was having a
(20:57):
tough time with him.
And sure enough, Brent goes up.
The ball's on Brent.
I'm learning about you, Brent, every step ofthe way.
Brent goes up—I love David.
Brent goes up to, what the hell is his nameagain?
Harris English.
And tells me, he goes, man, why are you soangry all the time?
You should just calm down.
(21:18):
In the middle of—did I say that?
In the middle of the round.
And then David comes over to you and goes, hey, man.
Thank you for saying that to him.
And apparently, you were just like, apparently, you were just like, yeah, man.
He needed to hear it.
Yeah.
I don't remember when that was.
But,
It had to be a couple years ago.
Because last year, he was on with HarrisonEndicott.
(21:38):
This year, he's on with Bud Cauley.
And so it had to be three years ago.
No.
It was, it was, it was Endicott.
It wasn't Harry—I don't think it was HarrisEnglish because he was—
He said it was English.
Are you sure?
It was his first guy that he had, which—no.
It was, it was Endicott.
You sure?
Yeah.
100%.
I must have missed him.
And I've known and I've known Harrison for sixyears.
(22:01):
So and he's, he's, he's the club tosser.
He's, he's the kinda guy that will watch a ballhook and say, why didn't that fade?
He will walk up to a ball when the slope islike this and say, why didn't it kick the other
way?
Stuff like that.
I literally have, I call it the HarrisonEndicott bounce.
It's when you say why did it kick that way andyou go up there, you're like, oh, it's because
(22:24):
the fucking slope's like this.
So, yeah, I had a little bit of privilege withHarrison there, in that moment.
But, yeah, David and I go way back.
I love that guy, and he can loop for meanytime.
He only had terrible things to say about you.
Yeah.
I'm sure.
That's spot on.
There we go.
Now as we move on from the Korn Ferry TourBogota, you know, I was really expecting you to
(22:48):
come in with some stories of substance abuseand, you know, I'm good.
Beautiful things that go on down there.
So yeah.
Or any of my stories.
You could rat out the others.
That's fine.
You just won't be very liked the
next time you go out there, which is, you know, good too.
But, Buttsy, why don't you, Buttsy is a bigTorrey Pines guy.
(23:09):
What do you think of Torrey Pines, Buttsy?
The golf course.
I've never played it.
But
Yeah.
Exactly.
It's right up there with where they play theHero at.
Is it similar?
I think that they're pretty similar layouts.
I'll be the tree line and stuff like that.
But, otherwise, I think they're very similargrass, similar layouts.
(23:30):
The green complexes are very similar.
And, I just think the Hero's a little bittougher, but beyond that.
Dude, this is Johnny Walker Blue.
You can't have me spitting this out.
Yeah.
They gotta not drink it while he's saying thatshit.
I didn't think you were going there with me.
Torrey Pines, Torrey Pines is
I do.
But he goes, I do think that the Hero WorldChallenge is slightly better.
(23:56):
Harder.
Harder.
I
don't know
better to move
much more.
Just harder.
Yeah.
Like, way more challenging.
You know, they should host the U.S.
Open every year at the Hero World Challengecourse.
Obviously,
it's it's the number one major venue that thoseguys
play at.
Totally.
They
should definitely have a U.S.
Open there.
Yeah.
Except it's not in the U.S.
Yeah.
And I just don't think that you can accommodatethe fans, and it's
(24:17):
not fair to really,
you know, force everybody to head down to TheBahamas and do that.
So, yeah, that's Torrey, I think, is amazing.
I mean, it's it's a classic.
So
It is it is a classic.
And you got the people absolutely cracking upabout that.
But let's Oh, man.
Let's get into this because, again
So should we talk about Torrey Pines fromsomebody that's actually been there?
(24:38):
Yeah.
What do you mean?
Played there?
I have.
If that really matters.
I used
to play there a ton.
So I lived in San Diego for a year.
I used to live five minutes away from the goodold Torrey Pines Golf Course.
And what most people don't realize, unless youhave been there during the off-season, is that
it is a dog track.
It is absolutely not kept in shape.
It's like a $25, like, if you live in thatcounty, you can play it for, like, $25 if you
(25:05):
got the pass.
It is, like, it's tough because the greens areterrible.
The fairways are long.
The rough is short, and it's just it's a brutaltrack during the offseason.
But one of the
Oh, go ahead.
It's one of those places, like, fairway teeboxes, okay, we give that up, but the
greens are perfect
most of the time.
(25:36):
Few times.
I see that out of you, Trot.
I do.
I do see that out of you.
Yeah.
I do see that out of you.
Yeah.
I do see that.
Go ahead.
What Tiger said that all of his course design, like, to this day, I mean, he's still very
young in that.
He's not exactly, you know, Gary Player yet,but it's all based roughly around Torrey's
(25:56):
layout.
Look at this.
David jumps in from X.
Tommy Gainey once said that he should play theU.S.
Open at Shaughnessy Golf Club in Vancouver.
Just another classic mix-up where, you know, the U.S.
Open is played in the U.S.
And that's why we can't have the Hero WorldChallenge there.
Or as, like, Buttsy knows, the Hero WorldChallenge would be a U.S.
(26:20):
Open venue.
It should be.
But let's not would be.
It should be.
And we're talking about an event as if
it's a golf course.
That's all it's Albany is the golf course thatthey play the Hero World Challenge at.
I think they should just change the golf coursename to the Hero World Challenge too.
And just leave it at that.
(26:40):
It's better.
It's more synonymous, and it's something that'seasier in a Google search bar when you're
trying to figure out where the best in theworld are playing the best golf.
God, you are so spot on.
I mean, sometimes you just hit where, like, you've got analysis that, I mean, it's just so
fucking good.
Good.
(27:00):
Yeah.
I love it.
Thanks.
And as we're playing Torrey Pines this weekinstead of Riv, you guys wanna go over some
betting odds here?
Yeah.
So guess what?
Since Scottie Scheffler showed some life thispast weekend, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite
at plus 400.
Then we got Rory McIlroy who won two weeks agoat Pebble.
(27:22):
And this was a question I do not have theanswer for, so I'm curious if you guys know.
Has Rory played well at Torrey?
God, I got the Scotch burps.
Yeah.
I think he has.
I can't recall.
Like, I don't ever recall, like, Rory being in,like, that final group Sunday at Torrey Pines.
Am I wrong?
He doesn't ever play.
(27:45):
But
the U.S.
Open, he plays.
Yeah.
When it's there once every eight years.
But, I mean, that's the thing about that golfcourse is even though he is, you know,
obviously, a phenomenal driver of the golfball, it also falls in the part of a schedule
where he just goes, I'm good.
I'm not gonna show up.
I mean Yeah.
(28:05):
You're right.
You had ten guys and a couple injuries orwhatever withdrawals and whatnot.
Yeah.
But that's because everybody knew it was comingto Torrey Pines in a couple weeks.
For sure.
But that's what I'm saying is that, you know, regardless of, you know or irregardless as they
say in San Diego.
Oh, irregardless.
They say that there.
(28:26):
In San Diego.
They say irregardless.
Is that a surfer term irregardless?
I think so.
I think it's specifically from Torrey PinesGolf Course.
They literally say irregardless.
People that camp in the parking lot say
catchers.
Oh, a %.
Yeah.
Wave catchers.
Love it.
But, yeah, I mean, you would you woulddefinitely expect him to play well there
because he absolutely bombs the shit out of theball and hits his irons high and lands them
(28:51):
soft.
Yeah.
And it's a golf course.
But but I don't know.
I mean, do we know what they're setting thecourse up at?
Is it gonna be as long?
Is it gonna be shorter?
Are they just gonna say, hey.
You know what?
Let's play this at 7,000 yards.
Let's get in in and out, make a bunch ofbirdies, call it a day.
So I'm meant to reach out, this gentleman thatI met last week at the caddy event at Grass at
(29:14):
Grass Clippings, the Grass Lake.
Right?
The caddy event that they did for 10k for allthe caddies.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So this guy, they do a betting company, and hegoes and he walks the majority of the golf
courses throughout the year and like marks upeverything.
And then they've got this whole system to wherethey put out picks and everything like that,
(29:36):
and they do quite well.
He I did see a post from him today that he wasout there.
I wish we had brought him on.
It's my it's my mistake.
But,
Matt That's
okay.
Matt Gannon.
That's, that's the one that we've gotta get incontact with.
But, yeah, I just so I did hear the one thing Idid hear is that the rough is really thick this
week and that we're gonna have some weather bea factor out there this week as well.
(30:02):
Okay.
Yeah.
I mean, it could be it could be pretty icy outthere, to be honest.
And, I mean, we're getting ready to get somerain here, I think, later on this week here in
Phoenix.
So it cooled down this week after the WasteManagement.
So
It's chilly tonight.
Yeah.
It's chilly.
I'm in a listen.
I'm in a I'm in a straight up cashmere hoodie.
This thing is toasty, and I'm even feeling
(30:24):
a little
being a little breeze.
So, but, as I'm sure you both pick me up on themic, but, anyways
Yeah.
You gotta put hey, champ.
For the next time you go outside with that micyou need the little bunny fuzzy, the little
rabbit's foot.
Yeah.
Forgot about it.
No.
That's
I like when you call him champ, but
it's hilarious.
(30:44):
Eventually, someday, he's gonna be champ.
Well, technically,
I've won once.
One time.
On the Korn Ferry Tour.
Right?
Well, you know.
Yeah.
That's like me saying I've won on the minitour.
Yeah.
That's like yeah.
That's
like winning the men's club event.
It's it's legalized gambling, my friend, against other golfers that are good.
(31:05):
So what did what did Matt Gannon say, no.
I didn't talk to him about this week.
I talked to him last week about WasteManagement.
So they go, and he walks the golf courses.
He gets inside the ropes.
Like, he works a little bit with the PGA Tour.
He is buddies with Willy Wilcox and yeah.
I told him.
I was like, I gotta get you on the show so thatyou could actually give our audience some good
(31:28):
picks because, outside of the first pick thisyear, we've been shit.
So let's focus in on this one.
By the way, Collin Morikawa's plus 1,600.
Justin Thomas, plus 1,800.
Hideki Matsuyama, plus 2,200.
Ludvig Åberg is plus 2,500.
Patrick Cantlay, plus 3,300.
(31:50):
Sungjae Im, plus 3,500.
Rasmus Højgaard, Taylor Pendrith, Tony Finau, and Tommy Fleetwood are all at plus 4,000.
We've got Jordan Spieth sightings, RobertMacIntyre, good old Bobby Mac, Shane Lowry at
plus 4,500.
Will Zalatoris, Jason Day, Sam Burns, ThomasDetry, Tom Kim, Viktor Hovland, and Sepp Straka
(32:16):
at plus 5,000.
Who we like in Buttsy?
Who won Farmers?
That's a million-dollar question that we cannotanswer for you right now.
Who won the Farmers?
I don't like the Scheffler pick at all.
I
don't know if anybody saw the little babymeltdown on 15 when the wedge after the drop
went a little bit too far.
Wasn't good.
Took a swing at the bag.
(32:36):
I don't think I've ever seen that out ofScottie.
No.
Oh, yeah.
All the time.
Actually, Scottie is
playing well.
Scottie is a tough bang.
He's a he's a notorious
I mean, he missed this number by, like, a footand a half.
The ball skipped just a just a c hit or toofar.
And, he let Ted have it.
You know?
And he he swung at the bag.
(32:57):
I will say, he didn't swing.
He didn't man up, though.
Like, if you're really mad, you bend thatfucking way.
He pulled he pulled a punch.
Yeah.
He pulled a punch.
Yeah.
Damn right, Buttsy.
Damn right.
You know?
Is it like, well, so
you be
Snap the club over your knee.
Like, show some real exhaustion out there infrustration.
Yeah.
I'm going I'm going
(33:20):
Oh, love that.
In in some weather?
Yeah.
How many times?
Oh, I did ask Willy Wilcox, which we don'treally know each other.
So he was playing in David Geese's group, andDavid and I know each other well.
And sure enough, I go up to Willy.
I go, Willy, you ever get wrong wind, caddy?
And he looks at me, and he doesn't know how toquite answer it, and then I go, listen.
(33:46):
Bobby Brown was my co-host.
I was like, I know Lance.
I was I know all the stories of Sungjae.
And he
goes, oh.
He's like, okay.
He's like, yeah, I used to get that a lot.
He's like, I got abused quite
a bit in the beginning.
He's like, but now we're good.
Now we're good.
Got abused.
Wow.
Lot of stories of Sungjae loving loving alittle push.
(34:06):
Push and a little wrong wind caddy.
So I would love to get Sungjae on at somepoint.
That'd be awesome.
I'll be there.
But But he's just going through and say he'slike, if a player ever pushed me, I would
literally rocket throw them to the sun.
Dude, could you imagine if Brent pushed you,Buttsy, and you were on the bag?
(34:28):
What would you do?
I'd go backwards.
I would go backwards.
Undertones like downwind, caddy.
Yeah.
Wrong wrong wind.
Wrong wind, caddy.
Just a lot of yeah.
Not for me.
Yeah.
wants to know what time the LIV update is.
It's coming.
Sorry.
Quick intermission there.
If I'm scouting for Scottie and he slams hisclub into the bag and he doesn't break it, I'm
(34:53):
just giving him a nice little look.
Then I'm throwing my whole career out thewindow as I walk over to the lake and throw his
whole bag in the lake and leave.
That's not a good career move.
That's for sure, Brent.
Maybe not, but legends never die.
Brent, who
do you got?
Yeah.
That's a good point.
If you throw that in, nobody's gonna forgetyou.
(35:13):
Oh, shit.
Oh, actually, I had a guy.
I had a guy.
Man, you know the name Buddha, don't you, Matt?
Buddha.
I know the name Buddha.
Yeah.
You met Buddha, I think.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You've had to have heard about him.
Okay.
So go to Mikey Mallet.
Lovely, lovely individual.
(35:33):
Made his name by literally taking the bag fullof golf balls and dumping them in the pond
because his player was just not happy.
And, Mike, he was done.
Take shit.
And, yeah, he literally dumped all the balls.
He said goodbye and fucking dozed out.
(35:55):
That's why he pressed.
Yeah.
I like that guy.
Brent, who you got this week?
We have some weather coming in, so it's gonnabe a grinder.
Let's see.
Half the field's out as soon as the weatherrolls in.
Might even withdraw.
I'm gonna go with Patrick Cantlay.
(36:15):
Woah.
Wow.
The guy that can't lay.
That's amazing.
Slow.
You think he's gonna be able to play that slowwith the wind blowing down on his fucking
umbrella and still get it done?
Yep.
I sure do.
Alright.
He shows up, he shows up for this tournament.
Matt doesn't like that pick.
I don't like that at all.
Well, you know, thankfully, my career is notbuilt on who I pick for fucking months.
(36:39):
It could be.
Our audience banks on you for solid picks.
No, they don't.
That's a lie.
That is an absolute lie.
They absolutely do not.
Regardless.
By
the way, Harris English is the one who won theFarmers.
Just for your information, I was gonna let youpick first.
Oh, yeah.
Before I gave you that information, I'm justlooking down the list again.
(37:00):
And, granted, we don't have, like, the deeperodds because oddsmakers are oddsmakers for a
reason.
Gosh.
I'm looking down this list and I hate to goagainst
Hideki Matsuyama.
No.
No?
Oh.
I'm
telling you what, man.
(37:20):
I like Justin Thomas this week.
I saw him out at the Waste Management PhoenixOpen, and it just seems like he's close.
He is close.
Because you saw him.
He's close.
Matt Cook knows talent when he sees it.
Yeah.
If he's peaking for, you know, he's
Listen.
Guys get into form.
(37:41):
Right?
No.
I know.
And then, I mean, I don't need here's the otherthing.
So this is why I would have loved to have MattGaeton on before we made these picks because I
would have loved to know if, like, Torrey Pinesfits Justin Thomas's game.
I really don't know.
So Yeah.
I mean any course kinda fits Justin Thomas'sgame.
(38:03):
Let's be honest about
that.
Well, yeah.
I mean
if he gets hot on the right week.
Oh, for sure.
I mean, you could say that about mosthigh-level players.
But, I mean, I would say as far as he'sconcerned, if he's driving it well, he's got a
chance.
But with poor weather coming, if he's hittingout of the rough and not getting a ton, I mean,
I just, yeah, he might even withdraw.
(38:26):
So,
who?
JT?
Justin Thomas.
Yeah.
This is, remember, this is an elevated event.
They could just tee it up, hit it off the firsttee, and withdraw.
No.
I think if you WD, I don't think you get paid.
Oh, yeah.
You do.
Are you sure?
Mhmm.
100%.
An interesting turn of events.
(38:47):
That's kinda weird.
Are you
guys ready to get into this?
Because neither of you know what the hell isgoing on.
Okay?
Well, I don't know if you can say that.
But,
well, no.
No.
Neither of you know what's been going on on thegood old X, the Twitter.
Okay?
Oh,
no.
No.
No.
Just the
behind the scenes on what's happening.
(39:08):
PGA Tour.
Oh, no.
No.
No.
That people.
That's going down further.
So that's further on the list.
That's later.
That's later.
You know what's going on?
I'm like, how the fuck does he know I got arose?
How does he know?
Unbelievable.
I had
to get your cycles match.
In the head.
Well,
(39:28):
I had to get nice and toasty here in studio inorder to get into this next topic because this
one had me laughing all weekend long.
So I have turned heel, if you guys know whatthat means.
It's a
Oh, yes.
So I've turned heel against LIV Golf.
And I was going to say the same.
(39:48):
Especially on, X.
So, you know
That's more fun.
Their audience has I've always kinda been a,like, a hater of the cult.
The delusional, no knowledge behind real golf, like, they got into LIV Golf because it was a
(40:09):
new thing.
They picked up the game during COVID, and theywere all excited about it.
Right?
Then all of a sudden, they're like, oh my gosh, this LIV Golf is the best thing ever.
Hate the PGA Tour.
They're a bunch of assholes.
Like, that is the mentality.
And they just they rationalize, they defendeverything they possibly could.
So I finally I was like, you know what?
(40:31):
I thought about it.
Thursday came around, and I'm like, am I reallygonna spend $60 on this fucking LIV Golf app so
I can cover it?
And I'm like, fuck no.
Fuck no.
No.
I absolutely did not.
And you know what?
I wrote a post after everything
you've ever made.
After the event was done, I wrote a post.
(40:52):
I'm like, holy fuck.
I had four hours back in my life.
I didn't miss it at all.
Like, nobody gave a shit about fucking SaudiArabia Golf.
Like, under the lights, okay, cool.
Like, we have that here with the grass lick.
We don't fucking need it.
Yeah.
We finally had
enough.
Yeah.
We've had enough.
(41:12):
I I'm done.
Like, three years in, I watch every fuckingevent, every single round, and I'm just like
This deserves a toast.
I mean, come on.
They fuck it.
Toast it.
Come on, boys.
Toast it.
Cheers, boys.
Cheers.
Can't believe I'm doing
it.
So we will not, by the way, we will not becovering LIV Golf in terms of, like, hey.
(41:35):
This guy won.
Here's the analysis.
This is what we're doing.
Now we are just gonna trash LIV Golf movingforward.
And the funniest thing ever was that as I didthat, right, the viewership numbers come out.
So of course.
Everybody was, like, losing their shit as a LIVGolf person.
(41:56):
I kept telling everybody because I had peopleon both sides of the spectrum.
I had PGA Tour, like, fanatics versus the LIVGolf guys, and everybody wanted to know.
Did Fox Sports really pay or did Fox really payLIV Golf licensing fees and this and that.
I'm like, I haven't found out, but I reallydon't care.
And then sure enough, what ends up happening?
(42:19):
They get on to Fox.
They're on Fox Sports 2.
Okay?
It's not ESPN the Ocho.
Alright?
We're not watching like dog pony shows here.
Okay?
And I don't even know if that's a thing, a dogpony show, but would have been better.
They did 12,000 viewers on their opening round.
So many.
They got absolutely exposed.
(42:40):
And the hilarious thing, you've got idiots likethis pro golf clinic person.
I don't the big fat dude.
Like, he talk I mean, you talk about fat dude.
That's a fat dude.
Oh, the guy from Barstool?
No.
No.
No.
No.
That's another fat dude.
But, yeah.
And, actually, he took a picture with FatPerez, and he's, like, five times the size of
(43:01):
Fat Perez.
Oh, that's good.
Just as a little side note.
Like, he makes Fat Perez look very thin.
He wears Moomboos.
He wears Moomboos.
He's got a wide sole.
He loves the New Balance.
Vince Wilfork style?
So anyways, the 12,000 viewers, and all of asudden they're rationalizing.
They're like, well, Fox Sports only averageslike 11,000 viewers on a Oh, yeah.
(43:25):
A wheel.
Yeah.
The whole thing.
Right?
So I'm just like, I don't care what fuckingnetwork you're on.
Right?
This gets into the households of 52,600,000households.
Households.
Not just individuals.
Households.
And all of a sudden you do 12,000
viewership.
They did really well.
They did really well.
(43:46):
They fucking stunk up the entire place.
They were losing their goddamn minds, and yetthey were just defending at all costs.
Justifying, rationalizing, however you wannaput it.
They were losing their goddamn minds, so I justjumped in.
I just fucking shat all over them.
How did you jump in?
Tell us, Matt.
Just some absolute I it was like How did youjump in?
(44:09):
It was like Kendrick Lamar walking a circlearound the camera talking about Drake being a
pedophile.
It was absolutely incredible.
And, the people, I will say this.
I'm not
gonna be the people.
The people.
The people.
The people on X.
I God, I gotta check.
I don't have it on me.
Yeah.
(44:29):
Well, that's the other thing.
So a couple of those assholes were like, yourshow doesn't get that many people on X.
It's like the same fucking rigmarole.
Right?
It's like we've got 200 views on X.
Okay.
Cool.
Like, we've got 30,000 podcast listeners.
I don't give a shit about having 200 people onX.
And they're like, you're buying bots.
(44:50):
And I'm like, alright guys.
Great.
I mean, we've had a couple of people.
Absolutely great.
We bought some bots.
Exactly.
We're not poor over here.
I mean, Jesus, we'd at least pump it up to,like, at least, like, a million.
Fuck.
Like do you think
he's gonna afford a custom golf bag like that?
Come on.
Look at that fucking that
was free, by the way.
That was given to me
$800 a bottle.
(45:11):
I could never afford something like that.
I can't afford the $60 LIV Golf app.
So man, oh, man.
It's just it just shows that at the end of theday, X is its own echo chamber along with all
the other bullshit political things that peoplelike to get into and waste their time because
they're miserable and they got nothing betterto do.
(45:31):
There was a lot of people
and it has its own thing.
I think it's because it was Waste Managementweek too, to where, like, the crazy energy was
out.
Like, yeah.
I dug it.
How are you gonna compare with that tournament?
I mean, it's wow.
It's one of the most exciting tournaments, andthat's not saying much because it is just still
golf.
But, I mean, Jesus, you're gonna go up againstthat tournament as if you're gonna get anything
(45:55):
from it.
I mean, nobody gives a shit anyways, but letalone up against the Waste Management.
That's a fucking terrible business model.
Let me let me pull up.
I wanna see hold on.
What the, what the numbers are at.
First first, first deal, flops.
Is that what you're saying?
So the the spelling.
I need a compliment.
(46:15):
Oh.
But he needs a compliment.
Okay.
So the tweet
read as a goddamn straw, dude.
The tweet after they, accused of bots.
Right?
So taking a look at this
Community notes is a thing now too.
Right?
Basically, like, real-time
Okay.
Real-time fact-checking on Twitter.
Yeah.
Right after they started accusing me of that, Ithrew out my final LIV Golf Riyadh thoughts.
(46:42):
Number one was I didn't watch a single secondof it.
Two, I feel great about it.
Three, nothing against the players—you guys gotpaid.
Four, nobody gives a fuck about this tournamentexcept for 500 people on Twitter.
And, it had 47,000 impressions, 1,200 likes.
(47:02):
You had 54 people reposted and 23 comments.
And then, went in on the, what's the other one?
Irregardless, Buttsy, remember.
Irregardless.
Irregardless.
What was the other one?
Irregardless.
I had another one that, like, did thousands ofso on and so forth.
(47:23):
Who gives a shit?
Like, that's the other thing too.
Like, who really gives a shit as to how manypeople viewed it, how many people liked it?
It is what it is.
Like, that was my honest-to-goodness feelingabout it.
I felt fucking great.
So what you're saying is your life has improvedbecause you've removed something away.
Yeah.
(47:43):
From
your Well, and he went turncoat on LIV.
I did.
Well, you know, I
I went full heel like Hollywood Hogan, man.
You felt great.
Right?
Just the rock.
I mean, come on.
Man.
The jabronis.
I mean, I'm
just fucking up I'm fucking
up jabronis left and right.
Cheers.
Cheers.
It was—I gotta tell you guys, I had the mostfun this weekend.
Like, I actually started becoming addictedbecause it was kind of like a little bit of a
(48:08):
test as to who could come up with the bestcomment at me?
And then how could I overcome that comment withan even better burn?
And I gotta tell you, I felt like I wasundefeated.
That is a very slippery slope when you startgetting stimulated in that game.
It was fun.
When that addiction starts, it doesn't stop.
(48:30):
Now you're searching pages looking for comments
that set you off.
I'm gonna fight this guy online right now.
Yep.
This is
how it goes.
I know.
I went through it for a long time before I'mlike, I'm not gonna look at anything anymore
because I'm so mad at
all the time.
The best part is, like, I have gotten to thepoint in life to where, like, there's nothing
(48:55):
that somebody could say to me on Twitter thatis going to upset me.
Which gives me the upper hand in every singlecomment that comes at me.
Like, it just I'm gonna come at it from, like, the funniest creative way that I possibly can.
I'm not saying that I'm a funny creativeperson, but that's what I would, that's what I
was getting at.
So
You are sweetie.
Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
(49:16):
Alright?
Now, this week, we've got LIV Golf Adelaide, which I will not be watching.
Neither will Buttsy.
Neither will Brent.
Unless we randomly go across it on Fox or FoxSports.
I don't know.
But, I'll
put it
on Instagram.
There's plenty of highlights there.
This is the other one, by the way.
So this is the Timu version of the WasteManagement Phoenix Open.
(49:40):
This is basically LIV Golf in a nutshell.
Australian version of the Waste Management.
I don't wanna piss off the Aussies becauseyou're right.
Right?
I mean, this is a tournament where these guys, they get pumped up, they do some shoeys, they
get some weird diseases.
I am gonna tell you right now, I bet that thatis a pretty good time to go to that event.
(50:04):
I don't think that's like a bad time or aknockoff or anything like
that.
It's definitely a knockoff.
I mean, there's good products on Temu.
Like, you could get a real quality, like, LouisVuitton wallet on the oh, sorry.
Go ahead.
We were off there.
(50:28):
Yeah.
No.
Temu's fine.
I wear all their clothes.
No.
I'm just
kidding.
No.
It's just a different thing.
It's not a bad thing.
I have seen the clips.
I'm good friends with the dudes that run theaccount Golf Gods, and they're a huge clothing
brand over there.
And, they're out there in full force and behindthe scenes videos.
(50:50):
Like, that's a huge tournament.
That's a really good time that they're havingover there.
It's not the Waste Management.
It can't be.
You can't beat that.
Nobody will.
But it's not a bad deal.
Do you think we can get the Cliques new weekendbag on Temu?
So they got, like, a $3,000 bag that they cameout with with the Cliques logo on it.
(51:11):
And I gotta tell you, I don't know who's buyingthe shit out of that.
Like, that was a that's that's a brand dealwhere like, that brand is never getting their
money back.
Like, they're giving those guys free productand they are never making it back.
That is for sure.
We're past the event horizon of peopleaccepting it as something real and it's just
not gonna be so
(51:32):
It's not.
It's sad because, I mean, the worst part aboutit is, and this is what I don't think the LIV
cult knows, is that you've got a new CEO thatwas brought in in order to turn things into
revenue.
They can't lose constant money anymore becauseguess what's gonna happen.
(51:52):
They're about to be pulled in underneath thePGA Tour umbrella.
And if they don't start showing a profit, JayMonahan has the absolute right to all of a
sudden be like, okay.
It's gone.
And Yasir is not gonna do anything about itbecause that's part of their entire agreement.
So we might as well get into the agreement partof this because the reason that they tapped
good old Donald Trump on the shoulder to say, hey, Donald, can you help us out with this
(52:16):
thing?
They've got four deals in place.
So remember I told you guys that they had adeal back at the PGA?
Well, they have created three more deals.
So there's four on the table that are agreedupon between the two parties.
They're just trying to see which one they canget through the Department of Justice, because
they are terrified that they're not gonna beable to get it through.
(52:38):
So that's what the holdup is right now.
So different levels of money coming in fromPIF, obviously, Yasir has some non-negotiables,
which is him as chairman of the board of thePGA Tour Enterprises and having another board
seat.
Like those are all solidified.
It's more so like how, like how can we get thisthrough without getting jam-jobbed by the
(53:01):
Department of Justice?
And that's where it's at right now.
But I do question both of you, and I want ananswer.
Buttsy, I'm gonna go to you first.
Sorry.
I got the screen mirror thing going on.
I think Buttsy is over here.
I think you're over here, Brent.
So, Buttsy, first off with you, if this dealgoes through, do brands start to go, oh, it's
(53:26):
fair game now.
And they start to advertise and sponsor, andall of a sudden you see this big wave of money
coming into LIV Golf.
Do you think that happens?
No.
No?
No.
I think it's too little, too late, and the endis near.
Brent, what about you?
(53:48):
Yeah.
I mean, honestly, LIV Golf, at the end of theday, is not gonna last, certainly not with the
way Jesus with the way that it is right now.
Like, I think, honestly, I spoke to a prettywell-experienced and well-connected Tour
(54:18):
veteran last week, after we all got the emailabout the phone call with President Trump.
Oh, yeah.
And the players.
And then Trump played golf with Tiger andCharlie.
Man.
And, well, yeah, you know, it's some prettyincredible stuff.
But overall, I really believe that the PGA Touras it exists right now is not going to really
(54:40):
be a thing either.
I think that we're gonna see, yeah, I thinkwe're gonna see a, b, and c kinda break down a
certain way, and a is basically gonna be, youknow, the top 50 to 75 players playing 20 to 30
events, all for a shitload of money.
B is gonna be, somewhere around there, youknow, probably half, maybe a little bit less.
(55:04):
And then C is just basically gonna be KornFerry Tour, plus, and they're probably gonna be
playing for maybe a third of what PGA Tour A isplaying for.
But the amazing part about the phone call isthat there were players involved, and the best
thing that we got told as a membership was,we'll just keep you updated.
(55:27):
And that's,
pretty incredible.
We didn't know the phone call was gonna happen.
Hell, yeah.
We don't know what they covered.
Hell, yeah, brother.
Yeah.
Just, you
know, really really doing it for me.
I'll wait.
I'll wait it out thing.
But, I got you know, Matt, I mean I mean, haveyou heard,
(55:47):
I've heard a lot lately.
No.
I'm I'm I'm I'm sure you've heard way more thanme.
The tour was in town, my friend.
Well, exactly.
But the amazing part about it is, the moneythat gets spent and has been spent over the
last five years and where it's gone and allthose things.
If, can I just
Try call for just dropped in a gem of acomment?
(56:09):
No.
Can I just get my fucking packages from China, please?
Listen.
You can't.
TMU, DHgate, they're all done now.
Those additional
Buy American or don't buy it all?
The additional 25 per what is it?
Another 10% tariffs just got
to Fuck them.
Yeah.
I just I think the amazing the amazing thing isis is, again, right, you just ask simple
(56:35):
questions, and you just poke holes throughevery single one of this every single one of
these things that they throw out there.
What were you poking holes through?
Let's find out.
For example, the $300 million that went to thePlayer Impact Program.
Yeah.
Where'd that come from?
Over the last where'd that come from?
Because this this last year, it came from theSSG.
So they they were able to explain that away.
(56:56):
Well, I'm not really sure where the $100million comes from.
But
Here's the politically correct answer, which isthat the PGA Tour had stashed away funds for a
long time in order to as a safety net for theentire tour.
Now as a non as a non for profit, doesn't quitesound like that is on the up
and up.
The reserves the reserves were at $84 millionafter COVID.
(57:21):
So they had $300 million, and they spent about$216 million during the years of 2020 and 2021.
Three was Kyle.
And then at the end of the oh, absolutely.
But at the end of the day, they don't have ananswer for that, and neither and this was asked
by the way, I asked, Tyler Duncan, who's PGATour number two, and I asked some other people,
(57:47):
you know, some other things.
But, yeah, nobody has an explanation for that.
And the, the but, you know, we'll just wait andsee.
And, actually, I do have a question for you,Matt.
Have you heard that the PGA Tour Enterprisesand PGA Tour are two separate entities?
They well, they are, but PGA Tour Enterprisesis the umbrella.
So that's that sits on top.
(58:09):
PGA Tour Enterprise or PGA Tour is hereunderneath that umbrella, and then LIV Golf is
gonna be over here underneath that umbrella.
Yeah.
So what I was told was that it's two completelyseparate entities and that PGA Tour Enterprises
acts as sort of a money line, if you will, forthem to be able to affect the PGA Tour, but not
(58:34):
necessarily owning the PGA Tour.
Oh, okay.
It's convoluted because technically, you can'thave a for-profit owning a
Exactly.
So there's
a lot of things that they're the
final piece, from what I understand, is thatthe PGA Tour is sitting on a gold mine of data.
(58:54):
So ShotLink data and all that other stuff.
So that's really what the PIF is after becausethey want to use that data to be able to, you
know, make even more money.
Sure.
And that's really why they're still doing this.
Otherwise, I don't think this year would evenbe sitting at the table.
But that's as much information as I have withregards to the PIF and the LIV and all that
(59:16):
other bullshit.
So it's good information.
Fantastic.
Riveting shit.
Oh, boy.
So Adelaide is gonna be the big saving gracefor all those Twitter clowns that are out
there.
They're gonna use this for the entire rest ofthe year.
Yeah.
But we had Adelaide.
We had like 60,000 people.
Oh, Adelaide.
And, Adelaide, like, we had a sixteenth holetoo, and it was sick.
(59:41):
We had people doing shoeys.
It was sick.
What's Adelaide?
Brooks Koepka's brother made a hole in one.
And look at that leaderboard.
Everybody has a name on that leaderboard.
That's right.
Everybody does have a name that's real good outof you.
Wait.
What's Adelaide?
I'm sorry.
Math capital of Australia, I've heard.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Well, that's fucking hell.
(01:00:02):
They were.
Is that where they were?
Is that where they played it?
That's where it's being played.
Good old LIV Golf is being played out of town.
So it's a town in Australia.
Very shitty golf course.
I hope they get a lot of fucking money for it.
I mean, there's gonna be a lot of people
out there.
Join the field tomorrow, I'd be there.
But I know it'd be there.
(01:00:22):
I'd take 4
Absolutely.
Buttsy, by the way, talking about fields, didyou see that, good old grass league is gonna
have a draft tournament, $1,200?
So
I'm trying to circumvent
the draft.
I'm trying
(01:00:42):
to go ahead and just
just plug.
Like, one
of those airport walkways.
Like, here's a guy, and I get on that, and I'lljust go right by.
Yeah.
We'll see.
Yeah.
I I don't know.
This this is, like, become an ever more, irregardless mysterious, thing that, nobody is
telling me if I'm playing or not, but theykeep, like, sending me smiling emojis and weird
(01:01:07):
shit to trick me.
So well, I told you about my experience and, II believe the ones that are actually messaging
you are actually the ones in power.
So I will say that, I do think there is a planfor good old Buttsy to be playing.
But folks, I don't know.
Should we set up, like, a GoFundMe and just, like, see if people will support a new team on
(01:01:30):
the grass league?
I like that idea.
I mean, it's not a terrible idea.
No.
I like that idea.
Like folks just pitching $20 a pop and, youknow.
Well, we gotta set something up.
Should we just put out an event like, should Ijust give everybody my Venmo?
Alright.
Here's what I'll do.
(01:01:50):
If enough people post that they want to supporta grass league team that is controlled by us,
then I will start handing out my Venmo andpeople can start just dipping into there and
giving money.
Give money.
Give money.
Just gotta put in there, like, what do you getback?
(01:02:14):
Am I am I
the manager?
What would they
get back?
Nothing.
No, Brent.
You might you might actually be a play I mightbe the manager at this point.
I mean, I picked up
Listen.
I I play.
I play.
I'd literally picked up clubs that were notmine that had Bryson DeChambeau grips on them.
Oh, god.
And I will say this, I I I didn't hit a lot ofgreens.
(01:02:38):
So and it's been months and I haven't picked upa club since.
So I'm probably out.
I'm probably out.
I'm probably out.
He's decided to just focus on what matters, andthat's Johnny Walker Blue.
And I know he's the show.
Work.
Oh, yes.
But Johnny Walker Blue is the show.
I mean
But I I will say this as well that, the UtahSoakers could be a real thing.
(01:03:01):
Yeah.
GoFundMe is easy to do.
They just put it up on Twitter and rock androll.
That's what I'm thinking.
I think we, guys
Let's see.
I mean, we got it.
Be down with helping us build a team on thegrass league?
Put it in the comments if you are interested inhelping Pull Hook Golf create a team and no,
it's probably not gonna be the Utah Soakers asmuch as I want it to be the Utah Soakers.
(01:03:26):
And it's just gonna race right past inearnings, not a kid that's got brain cancer.
But it
could be.
It could be Johnny Walkers.
I mean, it could be Johnny Walkers.
How about that?
I don't think we can go full branding on that, but I do think that we can create, between the
three of us, we can come up with a prettycreative name to put out there.
(01:03:49):
Prestige Worldwide.
Oh, the best.
Absolutely.
A %.
Mhmm.
Yep.
On the
next episode, should we do a presentation foreverybody called Prestige Worldwide?
Worldwide.
Worldwide.
I think we just we need to call Boats
and Hoes.
Marketing videos showing people, you know, ourstuff.
Boats and Hoes.
(01:04:09):
We gotta—all we gotta do is release the releasethe footage.
You know?
Just release the footage of what we alreadyhave done.
I mean, it's pretty clear we're the greatest inthe world.
So fuck.
Not far off.
Not far off.
I might be playing with your guy this weekend,Matty.
Saturday.
We'll see.
There you go.
Your boy
your boy, Pete.
Go get it.
(01:04:30):
Go get it, Pete.
We'll see.
Go.
I
don't know.
I'm in.
I'm in.
I'm in, guys.
I was thinking about, like, you know, havinghim—I was gonna tell him, like, hey.
I'm at the backdrop, and then, like, he rollsup, and I'm in a wheelchair.
And, like, secretly this whole time, like, youknow, he doesn't know that, but, like, yeah.
(01:04:50):
Try wants to know where's the footage.
So, Try, we had a bad deal.
We lost our video editor.
Just absolutely disappeared on us, stole abunch of money, and, yeah, we do not have a
video editor to edit up the content.
So, unfortunately, say
Matt won't be using Fiverr anymore to findthese guys.
It wasn't Fiverr.
(01:05:11):
He was here in America.
I've tracked him down.
I just I feel like I don't know.
I'm too nice of a person, man.
And that's what's funny about the whole Twitterthing.
People think I'm dead serious on Twitter, justabsolutely clowning him.
I like, it to me, it's amusing.
Like, if you if you take this shit thatseriously, which that's why, like, a guy like
(01:05:32):
anti-LIV, that dude's hilarious because youcould tell.
He does not give a shit.
Like, he just he plays up the role that he isanti-LIV Golf.
I don't think anybody actually takes it thatseriously.
I think, like, in real life, if you run intothese people and you're like, hey.
I'm him.
I'm the guy that, you know, blah blah blah inthe chat room, and they're like
(01:05:53):
Oh, they'll bow down in a heartbeat.
That was pretty funny, wasn't it?
Yeah.
It was, man.
You told me to go have sex with
my mom, like, three or four times, but, that'scool.
That's cool, bro.
I do love so there is a trend by the way.
So they start off with, like, whatever theirthe best thing they got is.
(01:06:16):
Right?
Data, facts, whatever.
Like, what they think is accurate.
They send that over.
You debunk that.
You come over the top with more informationthat debunks the entire thing.
Then, it's classic.
They start getting to the insults.
So there's an insult.
There's always an emoji, like a laughing emoji, because you could always tell when they're
(01:06:37):
really pissed off is when there's multiplelaughing emojis.
A personal attack usually happens based on yourappearance after that.
Exactly.
And so and then of course, they just startgetting into insults.
Like, as like, there might be a little bit ofinformation in the follow-up reply, but then
after that, it's just straight, your mothersucks.
(01:06:59):
Wow.
Cock.
It's like, oh, no.
Hairline's almost at the back of your head, bud.
Like,
You got a huge forehead.
Got a seven head.
Yeah.
It's lucky.
What would people say to poor Brent Grant?
Jeez.
Oh, man.
He's got,
You should stay off of Twitter.
(01:07:19):
Bring it.
We both suffer from the beaver tooth syndrome.
Nothing wrong with There's
nothing wrong with some good teeth.
Oh, god.
We both look like a couple of fucking gerbils
at the free zoo, AKA Petco.
But I actually felt bad, and so I was into somebooze, and there was this guy, and in his
(01:07:43):
profile picture, he had some janky teeth.
So what did I do?
I said something along the lines of and I tooka close-up screenshot of his profile pic, just
showing the fangs, showing how fucked up theteeth were.
And I go, you I go, you probably think yourdentist is the best too,
(01:08:05):
That's when you send him like a
Just sad news.
Web address for like a dental implant center inhis local town.
He's in Ireland.
He ain't got no dental implant center.
No.
It's called Wood.
Oh, that poor guy, man.
I actually felt terrible.
I almost felt like, man, I should probably DMthis guy.
(01:08:25):
Like, I probably took it a step too far.
No.
Gentlemen.
Alright.
Here we go.
You guys ready to, on the call out here?
Are you ready?
3, 2, 1.
