Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to Punches and Punchlines, where we break
down the best in boxing with asense of humor.
And now your hosts, fritz andFranco.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Welcome back everybody to this episode of
Punches and Punchlines.
Thanks for joining us again.
We had a couple of great fightsand, more importantly, a main
event that I was looking forwardto since the first fight ended.
We are back to talking aboutFury versus Usyk 2.
Probably more appropriate isUsyk versus Fury 2, since he was

(00:46):
the winner in both of them andjust a complete badass.
So I think his name should gofirst and that's what I just
corrected myself to do.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Yeah, I thought it was a really fun fight.
I was definitely lookingforward to it.
It's cool to finally see thebelts getting unified at the
heavyweight division after yearsand years it felt like almost a
decade of not necessarilypeople ducking each other, but
just the stars not aligning.
And finally the stars alignedand we finally got to see it and

(01:15):
it lived up to the hype.
I thought it was.
It was awesome.
I do think that they could havedone a better job, kind of
hyping this up, that they couldhave done a better job kind of
hyping this up.
This was a huge deal.
But instead we heard aboutTyson.
Mike Tyson, like the wrongTyson, was getting tons of hype
or someone like a Ryan Garcia.
This was huge for boxing andthen it was very underwhelming

(01:37):
as far as like marketing goes.
I think they need to step uptheir game a little bit.
But other than that, for peoplelike us, it lived up to the
hype.
We were super excited and itwas awesome.
So, yeah, let's go ahead andit's been a while fritz.
Let's do a deep dive on thisone.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Let's go ahead and get into it alexander usic, 37
years old, coming in at 22 andoh, versus tyson fury, 36 years
old, coming in at 34, 1 and 1.
For those that didn't watch hisfight, you know you just heard
that you got an unbeaten 22 and0 fighter going against a guy

(02:13):
with one loss and one draw.
Now, fury's only loss was inthe previous fight, coming in
against Alexander Usyk.
That one was a split decisionand his draw was against Deontay
Wilder when he somehow rosefrom the dead in the 12th round
and beat the count.
It was an absolute joy of afight and this was a fight, like

(02:36):
I had said in the open, that Iwas looking forward to since the
bell rang at the final one inthe first time around.
Now, first time around therewas a little controversy of
whether it should have beenstopped or whether the knockdown
that was ruled was accurate.
Mark Nelson, who was thereferee in that one, has a
really good track record fromthe fights that I've watched

(02:58):
that he's usually making theright choices.
So I get why he just called theknockdown and didn't stop the
fight, and I don't even disagreewith it.
The right guy ended up winningthat fight.
Uh, anyway, and in this fightthe right guy ended up winning.
Fury would have like moments ofsuccess, but not enough, just
just not enough.

(03:19):
You know, like I thought thatthe eight to four scorecard that
the judges had was prettyaccurate, that, yeah, you know,
all the punches that he was ableto land didn't look like it was
coming with the normal steambecause the shorter man was
staying right in his face.
As this fight wore on, the jabbecame less effective for Fury.
And as that was happening, furywas less effective.

(03:41):
At no point did he ever hurtUsyk or make me think that this
fight was in doubt.
And then at the end of it, no,there was no knockdown.
So there was no like big dramato this fight.
But what was nice wasthroughout the, from the opening
bell to the closing bell, thiswas action where the smaller guy
was chasing down the bigger guy.

(04:03):
All fight long, fury just doesnot have the answers for
Alexander Usyk.
We see why he wanted no part ofthis fight in the first place.
I believe knew we couldn't winLike.
This is a style that does notfit him.
You mean athletic.
Yeah, it's just too too fast.
He made every excuse to notfight Alexander Usyk.
He's like oh, he's too small,I'm not fighting a middleweight.

(04:30):
All right, that was his firstthing.
And then he came out with anoffer.
He's like all right, Usyk,we'll do the fight.
We're going to have a 90-10split, take it or leave it.
And then he was shocked thatUsyk's like all right, let's do
it belly.
You know, let's make thishappen, fat boy.
And he's like oh, but I can'tbecause I got, you know,
whatever.
So all the talking that Furydid led me to really be rooting
for Usyk.
The dude is just a completebadass.

(04:51):
For people that aren't asfamiliar with Alexander Usyk,
just a little background on him.
He was a gold medalist and thenan undisputed cruiserweight
champion, which is, you know, just the weight class below
heavyweight.
He cleaned out cruiserweightand could not be touched there.
You know, almost similar towhen Evander Holyfield just

(05:12):
cleaned out cruiserweight andthere was no competition even
near him, and the same thingkind of happened to Usyk.
So he's like all right, well,I'm going to move up to
heavyweight.
His resume at heavyweight hasbeen fantastic.
You know like he startedagainst chisora, which everybody
, every heavyweight eventuallyhas to fight derek chisora.
But then he knocked out danieldevoy, he beat anthony joshua

(05:34):
twice and now he's beat tysonfury twice.
The dude is an absolute badass.
I don't know 37 yeah, I don'tsee anybody hanging with no, and
you know?

Speaker 1 (05:44):
another thing I guess you could say that's on his
resume, that makes him awesomeis he has like a really long,
very successful amateur career.
But that also kind of it'sgoing to hurt his final payday
and maybe his legacy a littlebit.
But who cares?
Because he's cleaning house now.
He's 37 years years old.
He's only 22 and 0.
So I think this young man has abright future ahead of him, and

(06:08):
it does kind of suck that thishappens a lot with a lot of the
female boxers that we like, where they start getting their
flowers but they're in theirlate 30s.
So it's like, oh man, thatending is coming so soon.
It's almost like discovering aband and then they break up not
too long after you discover them.
I'm hoping that alexander usikcan do work now like he.

(06:30):
He's not worrying about peopleducking him.
He should have people coming athim and he feels like a gamer,
like he feels like a fightingchamp, someone who's going to be
taking on anybody and everybody, and I hope he does.
I hope that they can cram asmany fights into this before
before it's too late.
Like father, time giveseverybody and we need our short

(06:53):
king to be able to have hisreign.
He's six, three for it's.
They kept talking about howlittle he is.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
He's two of me like stacked on top of each other but
when you're fighting a guythat's six nine, you do look
tiny.
You know what I mean and that'swhat was crazy about it, and I
agree.
I really look forward towhoever usic decides to fight
next.
I hope it is daniel dubois.
That would be nice to see andbe undisputed again.
So anybody that doesn't followit as much nerds like fr and I

(07:22):
are One of the four beltcompanies.
Basically, sanctuary Bodiessaid they stripped Usyk of his
IBF title because he went forthe rematch with Tyson Fury
instead of whatever mandatorythat they had.
And so then it was.
Daniel Dubois had to fightAnthony Joshua for the vacant

(07:42):
belt and Daniel Dubois beat theshit out of Anthony Joshua.
Yeah, so now he's the IBFchampion.
So I still see him as theundisputed heavyweight champ.
But if you want to keep thattitle, take on the IBF mandatory
now in Daniel Dubois, like he'searned the right for a rematch.
There was a little bit ofcontroversy in the first fight.

(08:04):
For those that were rootingDaniel Dubois.
There seems to be a lot ofcontroversy that when he hit him
in the dick they're like no, itwas right on the belt line.
No, it ended at the belt line, but it started right at the
bottom of his nutsack.
You know Usyk was given thefive minutes to recover because
it was a straight shot to thenuts.
It ended up with a jab knockingout daniel dubois later in that

(08:25):
fight.
So I would love to see thatfight again.
Usic has talked about maybegoing back down to cruiserweight
and I wouldn't mind seeing himfight.
Dubois, walk away as theundisputed heavyweight champion.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Just go clean out cruiserweight again yeah, as far
as the fight itself goes, somethings I'm curious to see where
we go from here.
Fury, he was throwing haymakers, he was dropping bombs.
Usik was absorbing them.
It was very russia versusukraine.
It was awesome.
But fury, you said it lookedvery out of shape, but also he's

(08:57):
been big before in his upperbody, he's been jiggly before
and he's able to beat guys thatare in great physical shape.
His legs, though, looked socartoonishly scrawny, like he
was the definition of skippingleg.
Day man looked like what werethe?
Were they pushups?
The Flintstones, like Sherbertthings where it was on a stick

(09:18):
and you push the Sherbert upthrough the little tube?
Yeah, yeah, he looked.
He looked like a pushup, likeone of those 1980s push-ups,
just big and boxy and lumpy uptop and then the skinniest
chicken legs ever.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah yeah, flamingo legs going in.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
It was yeah, that's exactly what he looked like.
You can't get any power behindthose little toothpicks he had
poking out from under his giantass shorts and he looked bad.
And then for the announcers tostill be hyping him up was so I.
I complain about the britishannouncers all the time and how
they just love to gas up theirown guys and, oh, look at how

(09:56):
amazing he.
Yet no, it was so bad.
And so like one side, usicwould be massacring him, not a
peep.
Or they like, oh, look at howFury's absorbing these amazing
shots, right, and it's like comeon, man, your dude is getting
his ass beat.
I was worried that the fix wasin, especially because I had put
money on Usyk to take this onthe cards and I was like man, I

(10:20):
fall for this every time.
I'm like Charlie Brown withLucy in the football.
I'm like Charlie Brown withLucy in the football.
I'm a sucker again.
And so when they announced itas Usyk taking it on the cards,
I was happy because I won, butalso the fix wasn't in.
It went the correct way.
It felt so good.
But they had a new thing forthis fight and it's something

(10:40):
that we could see more of wherethey had AI as a fourth judge.
It wasn't an official judge, but they were just using it to
see how it worked and which Idon't.
I don't know why you have tohave that on the TV.
You could just post that onsocial media or whatever.
That's fine.
The fourth judge.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
They have it on TV for old guys like me that try to
avoid social media as much asthey possibly can.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Well, so they so, so they put it up there.
But then I saw it later on onsocial media what the actual
score was by the AI.
The AI had two 10-10 rounds andI was like that's a red flag,
that's something.
The actual judges had a 10-10round.
The guys on TV like there was abunch of people that did give
one 10-10 round, but for thereto be two of them, and then what

(11:27):
, we're going to be gettingdraws because yeah, some fight
is going to have every round 10,10.
You can't have that.
There has to be that feel, thatthing that humans bring to the
table.
That makes it a little bit.
You know that, that gutinstinct, and then we can
complain about it afterwards.
All right, just live scoring.
Yeah, really, the problem withboxing isn't bringing a computer

(11:49):
into the equation, it's sortingout and getting rid of these
really bad judges that arecompletely off.
Like the AI was very close towhat the actual judges got and
to what we thought.
The score should be Perfect, but it's not a perfect system.
So to replace people with AI, Idon't think we're there yet.
Also, will Smith warned usabout this a long time ago.

(12:11):
As much as I hate them, therobots are going to try to kill
us for it, so I don't need themto be taken over boxing too.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Well, here's the.
The other thing I might say.
Maybe the judges got it right, cause they're like oh, I got a
robot double checking my work.
I better, I better dial thisshit in and get it right.
Maybe that was the plus.
Maybe they just keep that onthere.
So people have to give us theirlegit and not their, their home
cooking.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
So you don't handle this shit, you're out of a job.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Yeah, I absolutely love this fight.
It was, you know, for aheavyweight fight to go just all
action for 12 rounds.
It was a joy.
I definitely like AlexanderUsyk and I was happy he won.
I was also happy that Fury wasmad and stormed out of the ring
afterwards saying he won andtook his sour grapes into the

(13:00):
locker rooms.
Yeah, I'll watch whoever Fury'sfighting next, because I'm not
necessarily a fan, but he isgreat, all right.
I always hate these people likeoh, my guy beat him because
that guy sucked Alexander.
Usyk beat him and he's great.
I think it's even more of afeather in Usyk's cap, because

(13:20):
Fury is great, usyk is justbetter.
It was, uh, absolutely a joy towatch for 12 rounds and can't
see wait to see what both ofthem do next yeah, I definitely
want to see fury again, especially because he's
entertaining.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
At the end of the day , this is a super entertaining
dude.
I like it.
Like there's other guys that Ifeel like they're trolling us
but they're not in on the joke.
With Fury I feel like he's inon it, like it's just tongue in
cheek enough that we let him getaway with the silly stuff.
It's when he starts fightinglike MMA fighters are actually
doing shitty stuff that he losesme a little bit.

(13:53):
But I feel like he's right onthat edge, like he knows how to
play the game and I'm okay withit.
I'm okay with the silliness andat the end of the day, it's all
about us being entertained, like that's all that matters.
And this dude can put down afight, like he can take so much
punishment and you never know.
Like during this fight, even wewere worried a couple of times

(14:14):
where he was landing thesemonster shots on Usyk.
The thing is Usyk is just nothuman.
Like he was absorbing them, them, like it was nothing but
Fury.
I want to see him again.
He's a moneymaker.
We're going to see him again.
I hope he doesn't step away.
I could see him doing that, because why does he have to keep
doing this shit?
I think he likes the attention,so I hope we see him again.

(14:35):
Can't wait to see him again.
I am so excited for 2025 andseeing what alexander usic does,
it's like a scarier, crazierversion of canelo, where he's
just got all the belts he's gotall the infinity stones.
What's he gonna do?
Is he gonna snap his fingers?
Is he gonna open up a stripclub?
We don't know.
It's gonna be great to seefritz.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I can't wait they tell us all the time you can't
play boxing.
We prove them wrong everyepisode with our segment called
playing boxing.
Uh, this segment is brought toyou by the fine people over at
zipix toothpicks.
Go to zipix toothpickscom, enter the code punch 10.
Save yourself a few bucks andhelp yourself quit smoking.
I just placed my new ordertoday and guess what?
Guess what code I use?

Speaker 1 (15:15):
franco I'm gonna go with uh, punch 10 1.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
That is correct, I used the old Punch 10 and saved
myself 10% off on my order.
So one fight that we watchedsince we did an episode last
that came in before Usyk versusFury, was Jaime Munguia versus
Bruno Serras, and this did notgo how we were expecting it.
To Franco, nope.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
This was brutal, fritz.
First of all, munguia.
Jaime Munguia, a nationaltreasure, was fighting against
Bruno Saras, a French guy.
I was like, please, please.
You saw this before me and youwere like you have to tune into
this.
And so I'm watching the wholecard or not the whole card, but
I watched a good amount.
Then I was like, oh my god, ifyou're telling me that he lost

(16:04):
to this french dude, fritz, whenhe when I say he beat his ass,
oh my god, bruno beat his assand it wasn't like a flash
knockdown, it was a for realknockdown knockout.
It was bad.
My ah, I'm so bummed.
I love jaime munguia.
I don't know what happened here, but Bruno Saras, bruno Saras

(16:25):
went down Like he didn't lookgreat and then he made Jaime
Munguia look so shitty it brokemy heart, fritz.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Well, here's what it's the old adage of If you can
just get that one lucky punchin and I don't know that it was
lucky because Saras was puttingin his work he was getting his
ass kicked for this whole fight.
Like I didn't see any roundsgoing to saras, one through five
, but then that sixth, whilejaime munguia was getting a
little greedy, saras lands onejust square on the chin with

(16:56):
everything he had, lands itright on the chin.
Munguia just unfolds like amarionette, had its strings cut,
doesn't beat the 10 count.
And if you want to say oh, hewas up at 10, well, I'll give
you that.
But he wasn't right and the refwas right to not let this one
continue.
I thought this was definitelyupset of the year.
This guy came in at, I think,25 and 0.

(17:26):
But I don't think any of hisfights had been outside of
france, so I'm not sure thecompetition that he was facing
over there.
But he definitely showed whenhe stepped up to a world level
competition that he, uh, atleast had for one night he had
the capability of beating aworld level fighter.
Yeah, it was.
It was definitely something.
I was shocked when it happened.
I'm like oh, oh, shit, this is,I'm just waiting for.
I was waiting for the uhMunguia knockout.

(17:47):
Like I wasn't expecting towatch Munguia get knocked out,
so I'm sure that they're goingto have a rematch on this.
I said that it should be inParis, you know, like this guy
came to Munguia's backyard andknocked him out, like Munguia
should now have to travel overto Paris and try to try to get
one back on this guy.
Or uh for greedy uh purposes.
Chicago, I think it should beat Wintrust Arena or United

(18:12):
Center, you know, I think thatthat would be.
That would be fun one to gowatch.
But yeah, definitely upset ofthe year.
Uh, I can't even think ofsomething that would be in the
running with this one.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
I love the Paris idea , but I think that might
actually work against Saras, because we've seen this before,
where guys get their fight orgals get their fight in their
hometown Right, and then itworks against them.
I remember he was fighting inTijuana.
Now, not only was, am I sureyou know, he went to the local
local taco joint, you know, hitup like all the local places.

(18:42):
People were cheating him.
Great, probably didn't get tosleep that well because he's out
partying or whatever.
No, I'm sure he wasn't doingany of that, but the count that
count was definitely.
It felt very different.
Now we were just talking aboutUsyk and Fury their first time
around.
Fury went down, and so I waswatching the replays of what
happened last time.
He got up and looked moreshaken than Jaime Munguia did

(19:05):
when he got up from this count.
So in that situation, though, they were in a different
location From what I understand, from what I was reading, in
Tijuana they don't F around Likeif you're, they don't do the
whole.
All right, give me your gloves, take two steps forward, take two
steps back, put your right footin, put your right foot out.

(19:28):
They don't do any of that.
Uh, it's just.
How do you look all right.
Nope, you look like shit fightsover versus in vegas.
We have seen, you know, theselike 15, 20 counts that these
guys get and they give them timeto kind of recover.
I guess they don't do that intijuana.
So, yeah, if this was in france,I don, I don't know that it
would be to his benefit.
He should be like I'm doublingdown on Tijuana, let's do a
bigger venue.
I want a bigger cut.
If you want to rematch likemilk it for all it's worth.

(19:50):
He basically he landed one goodshot.
Uh, I hope he doesn't get hishaircut.
He kind of looked like he couldhave been in the misfits
because all of his hair he had, like his bangs, coming down into
one super long widow's peakthat was coming all the way down
to like his nose.
Don't, don't cut the hair.
Keep it in your eyes.
Apparently, it helped becauseyou didn't see this monster

(20:11):
coming at you and you ended uplanding this great shot.
It was definitely shocking.
I think Jaime Munguia is thebetter boxer, but I'm kind of
rooting for Saras say, and Ifeel bad saying that I feel bad
saying that, but everybody lovesan underdog story.
You know, Viva La France, right, let's do it.
Let's, let's get in there, butdo it in Tijuana again.

(20:32):
Paris would be cool, that wayhe could have his come up.
But then it's going to workagainst him.
He's going to be all full of.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
That's what I'm saying.
I wanted to go against himbecause I'm still rooting
Munguia.
So, yeah, bring it over toFrance, let him have his huge
homecoming.
You know, just flip the scriptcompletely.
Instead of Munguia fighting inhis home backyard and being
comfortable, this is, you know, balboa going to Moscow.
This is what's going to happen.

(20:58):
So I love it.
Yeah, it was good.
Kudos to Saras for, you know, coming over into the guy's
backyard and scoring theknockout.
It was a one punch, but hetrained his ass off to be in
that position to throw that onepunch.
So, you know, kudos to him.
You did beat a legit 168 poundfighter, so that's, uh, that's

(21:19):
awesome for him.
So I wanted to talk a littlemore about the, the undercard of
Usyk Fury.
One of your uh, one of yourprimo started it out for us.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Franco.
Uh, we've already kicked himout of the family.
You know we don't see my nameoften, or my last name often up
on the screen.
Same with you.
Like you don't, you don't seeNathan Eagle up on the screen
all the time, but when you do,and then the guy sucks like what
are we doing?
It was so disappointing joshuaocampo versus muhammad alakal

(21:51):
and muhammad whooped the shitout of him.
It went the distance, but at nopoint was I like oh, joshua's
doing so good.
It was so embarrassing.
And then, on top of it, he waslight-skinned.
So it's like a light-skinnedOcampo.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
I thought, for sure he was your TO or your primo.
The only thing.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
I'm hanging my hat up on is he's Colombian and he
lives in Spain.
Well, colombia's cool, but theSpain part that's an X.
Get him out of here.
He's already out of the family.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
He's not invited to the cookout fritz yeah, now the
kind of the controversial fightjohnny fisher versus david allen
.
Now, for anybody that's beenlistening to punches and
punchlines since the beginning,we've covered david allen fights
before and this guy wassupposed to be you know europe's
.
He was going to be theirup-and-coming heavyweight and

(22:43):
then just he'd have a good fightand then two bad fights.
A good fight, two bad fights, and so now he's no longer their
their up-and-coming guy.
He was taking on their newup-and-coming guy, johnny fisher
, and while holding the back ofjohnny fisher's head he lands a
shot to johnny fisher's chin andthen just beats the shit out of
him.
In the fifth round.
This kind of from thatknockdown on was in control of

(23:06):
the fight.
Both of these dudes looked likeout of shape and out of breath.
I can't say it was a joy towatch.
No, but that felt like the fixwas in on that one, because
David Allen had that 10-8 roundand controlled the second half
of this fight and still thedecision went to Johnny Fisher.
A split decision, but still Ididn't see that Johnny Fisher

(23:28):
had won that fight.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
No, I agree, I thought this was a robbery.
Also, allen looked so goofy.
Oh gosh, who did I say?
He looked like from the oldLooney Tunes cartoons, cecil
yeah, there you go.
He looked like from the oldLooney Tunes cartoons Cecil yeah
, there you go.
He looked like Cecil the Turtle.
That was his posture, where hisneck was stretched forward from
the old Looney Tunes cartoons, and his back look all hunched

(23:50):
over like a turtle.
Yeah, you hit the nail on thehead, man.
These dudes were just so sloppyand gasping for air.
And then to have a wonky scoreto finish it off the whole thing
.
Really, the biggest losers wereus and those people in
attendance in saudi arabia.
I I didn't think this was agreat fight.
It was entertaining likewatching bum fights.
Like it was entertaining yeah, like watching a bar fight, but

(24:14):
not.
We couldn't look away I'll saythat it was they were just so
out of shape and so goofy and sofor.
For it to have a shitty endingwas just kind of like the turd
on top of our poop sandwich.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Right, absolutely.
And then I mean there was acouple of decent fights in there
.
I don't know if you had anythat you had notes that you
wanted to talk about, but theSurrey Boachuk to Ishmael Davis
I thought Davis was trying andthat's what.
That's a dude that just lookedripped, you know.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Oh yeah, that's right .

Speaker 2 (24:44):
But at the end of end of six he just retired on his
stool and I don't blame, likeBoa Chuck, I don't know what it
is about Ukrainian boxers but, they have.
They have a motor man whereit's just high performance in.
There's like an unlimited gastank to these dudes.
It's incredible.
I know that you know I'm justmentioning greats right now, but

(25:06):
Lomachenko, alexander, usyk andBojack I've watched them fight
multiple times and never oncehave I seen them look gassed at
all.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
No, bojack looks like he would be playing in some
kind of a movie where you end upin like a Ukrainian prison and
your cellmate is this littlescrawny dude and he's like I
will help you escape.
And then all of a sudden hejust goes like Rambo mode and
kills everybody and when he ripsoff his shirt he's a lot more
cut than you would have thoughthim to be.
Right, he isn't like thescariest looking dude, but when

(25:37):
he's fighting the boxing is sopure and so beautiful.
It's like watching, you know, like Deadpool massacre an entire
army of people where he's justthis like force.
But he doesn't look it.
And for Davis Davis, his upperbody was ridiculous.
Like he had like action figure, superhero type muscles where it

(26:01):
was like muscles on his musclesbut uh, kind of like fury.
The legs were a little bitskinny, it was.
It was looking like he mighthave skipped leg day.
But you know, when you'rewatching the fight you're
looking at the upper body andyou're thinking, oh, this dude
like davis is gonna killbohachuk and then bohachuk just
so smooth man like this guy isfun to watch.
He's such a good boxer and tonsof action and power, like when

(26:24):
he was dropping them the punchesdon't look crazy, but when you
see them in slow motion you'relike, oh look, you can see
Davis's soul leaving his bodymomentarily before it goes back
in to keep him alive.
It's.
It was awesome.
I love Bohachuk.
I'm looking forward to seeinghim some more.
I think maybe a rematch withOrtiz, I don't know.
There's a lot of question marksmoving into 2025 with all of

(26:49):
boxing and I'm looking forwardto seeing.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Hopefully we can get the fights that we want and we
don't see the big names fightinga bunch of no names, but we'll
see, and on this card we we hadevidence of why rabbit punches
are illegal moses ituma I'mprobably saying that wrong
versus dempsey mckean.
All right, that's where the 19year old kid landed.

(27:14):
Uh, a couple of haymakers, ohyeah, and the first one looked
like it landed behind the headand then mckean wasn't right,
all right like he gets up andbeats the count, but he wasn't
right and then moses justfinished the job.
That was ko1 and you just seewhy rabbit punches are illegal.

(27:36):
Like he was not right, helanded a beautiful overhand left
but uh, mckean kind of turnedand ducked, so then the punch
landed behind him.
It wasn't dirty, I'm not sayingthat this was McKean ducked and
turned to where the punch wouldhit him in the back of the head
and it did a lot of damage.

(27:56):
While he's stumbling, I waslike, oh, that's a great
evidence right there.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
That should be the video of why, uh, rabbit punches
are illegal yeah, and I almostfeel like the term rabbit punch
is misleading in this case, because bunnies, you know
they're cute, they're littlefurry.
This was like a huge hookingwind up of a punch.
And then, yeah, it's justshitty luck, he kind of turned
and the punch landed right onthe back of his head and then

(28:22):
you know, you know where theterm came from right.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
When you're hunting rabbits, you smack them behind
the head and it kills them oh,oh, that's fucking horrible on
the other hand that's how youkill a fish, too, right you?

Speaker 1 (28:38):
just smash it in the head with the rolling pin, right
.
Then you go on ahead and filletit because, uh, your dad has a
million fish lined up for you toclean up.
Right, that's everybody.
Um, but there he did end upslipping a couple of times.
There was uh one where itlooked like he might have maybe
caught an elbow to the back ofthe head or something.
So it's like damage on top ofthe damage yeah so when the
final knockout came, it wasright on his ear and I don't

(29:00):
know.
Moses atama fought a good fight.
He fought a good fight, but hejust doesn't look like the
scariest dude.
I don't know if it's, he's kindof got a baby face or maybe it
was like his beard isn't thegreatest beard it's not a
terrible beard, but it wasn'tthe best beard, like we've
definitely seen better.
Maybe it's the haircut, I don'tknow, but somebody needs to get

(29:21):
this man into a barber, get hima glow up for his next fight.
He just he looked unfinished.
You know he looked like he wasa last minute addition and he's
not.
So yeah, go out, get cleaned up, come back looking clean for
your next fight so you don'tlook like a 16-year-old that won
like a Make-A-Wish thing andgot to go into a fight in front
of a big crowd, but the puncheswere awesome.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
He didn't do anything wrong.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
He definitely got to power.
The power was cool.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
And yeah, mckean, or whoever that was, can attest to
that for sure.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Yeah, oh, whoever that was could uh can attest to
that for sure.
So yeah, oh shit, I just lookedat he's only 19.
Uh, yeah, so he is a kid, hewas he was 19 at the time of the
fight.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Looks like he might have had a birthday since then
hey, happy, happy birthday moses.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Yeah, felice cuplianos uh so that explains
why he needs the glow.
Somebody needs to take this boyin to like a real barber.
Uh, it's not that hard.
There's plenty of places.
Maybe they didn't have anythingin saudi arabia and he was
there adjusting at the time, although arabic barbers are the
best he's.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Uh, let's see, he was born in slovakia and now
currently resides in chatham, kent, uh, in the uk there.
Well, that explains that foryeah I don't know who's their,
who's their football club overthere in chatham, kent I?

Speaker 1 (30:35):
couldn't even find that on a map.
I feel horrible, like I lovelooking at like random uk stuff.
Uh, in general, yeah, couldn'tfind it on a map, don't know.
On the other hand, they can'tthey can't find oklahoma on the
map.
So it works out in the end.
But, yeah, this poor kid.
Come on, he's 19, somebodyneeds to get him.
Find him a nice arabic barber.
They do like really good, liketight fades.

(30:58):
It can't be that hard to find.
But, come on, somebody in kenthelp this kid out because, uh, I
think it would have added alittle bit more umph, a little
bit of a little exclamationpoint onto his fight because he
can go to richard torres as astylist.
Richard doesn't have a he rolledout of bed looking like that
Too great.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
What do?
We have coming up.
Franco, I'm looking at theschedule right now.
Looks like there's a card inTokyo on New Year's Eve, but it
doesn't look like there's anycoverage for it.
January 11th in England there'sa card on Peacock.
Daniel Dubois' sister carolinewill be on that one.
Steve woodall versus callumsimpson check that out on

(31:40):
sheffield yeah, and on the oldpeacock.
Oh then our guy, january 24th,those will definitely be back
with an episode after this.
January 24th, nioya anyway isfighting in tokyo and that is
over on the espn plus.
So anytime, no, yo anyway isfighting pound for pound, number
two fighter on planet earth.

(32:02):
I will be tuning in and itchingto tell you guys about it yeah,
friday kind of sucks yeah, butit'll probably be like friday at
3 am or something here true.
So maybe we'll be out drinkingon that Thursday then, Franco,
so we can check it out live.
But, yeah, if anybody out thereis listening is like, oh, what
should I?

(32:22):
What should I be watchingJanuary 24th on ESPN Plus?
Watch that for sure, and we'llbe back to to give you our
thoughts on that.
One I have, because I wasn'tsure who whose turn it was.
That one I have, uh, cause Iwasn't sure who, uh, whose turn
it was.
Franco, I did pull up a triviaquestion If you, if you got one,
if you're, if you're ready togo.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, you ready.
Okay, uh, people at home youcan play along.
This is my trivia question forFranco in our deep dive today,
and the undefeated AlexanderUsyk that we were talking about.
All right, now, I'm going togive you four people.
You're going to tell me who hedid not beat.
Okay, all right, now, it wasMarco Huck, jonathan Crane,

(33:02):
felipe Romero, pedro JulioRodriguez.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Oh shit.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
I'm going to go with Crane.
Okay, jonathan Crane, you'regoing to say he did not beat
Jonathan Crane, correct, okay.
Jonathan Crane, you're going tosay he did not beat Jonathan
Crane.
Correct, dr Jonathan Crane thescarecrow.
Oh, thank God, he did not beatJonathan Crane.
So you're right, I kept it inthe DC universe.
Thank you, right there.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
I'm like for a brief moment there, and this is what
throws me off with it.
Whenever we do this trivia gameis I'll hear boxers names that
I know and then I'm like do Iknow that person is a boxer or
is that like their name, liketheir actual name for?

Speaker 2 (33:40):
something else, and then I get all worried.
Aquaman yeah, all right, so younailed it again, franco.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Yeah, I'll have to have one ready for you next time
.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
You can have one ready for us when we're coming
back to discuss our boyfriend.
Have one ready for us whenwe're coming back to discuss our
boyfriend, naoya Inoue.
I'm telling you it's worth evengetting a subscription to ESPN
Plus just to watch Naoya Inouefight.
Go on YouTube and watch NaoyaInoue highlights.
If you don't know how to spellthat it's I-N-O-U-E, you can

(34:09):
just put in I-N-O-U-E highlightson YouTube and you're in for a
treat.
It's goddamn joy to watch thisdude fight.
You know a 122 pounder thatpunches like a goddamn
middleweight.

Speaker 2 (34:32):

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Fritz is going to be stepping away from full-time

No, not full-time.
Like wrestlers always do that.
I'm not going to be a full-timewrestler anymore and then they
show up like once every fiveyears, but Fritz is going to be
stepping away from the comedyworld and he has his final show
ever coming up.
So, fritz, you want to tell usa little bit about that.
