You are forgiven. In this uplifting episode of the Purpose in Life podcast, Pastor Christine Desiree emphasizes the profound truth that God has forgiven you, regardless of your past mistakes or the weight of your sins. Many listeners may struggle with feelings of unworthiness or the belief that their sins are beyond forgiveness, but Desiree reassures them of God's merciful and gracious nature. Drawing from Scripture, she highlights that all have sinned but reminds us that God's forgiveness is abundant and accessible daily. The episode encourages listeners to embrace this forgiveness and to remember who God truly is—a loving and patient deity who desires a relationship with us, despite our imperfections.

(00:01):
Welcome to the Purpose in Life podcast.
I'm your host, Pastor Christine.
Desiree.
I'm so excited that you joinedme today.
I really know that God isgoing to minister to you this morning
through this podcast episode.
And I'm praying for those ofyou, especially those of you who
have been entertainingthoughts like, God will never forgive

(00:22):
me for this, or this thingthat I've done is so horrible, it's
so bad, I can't even go beforeGod like this.
I'm praying that you will stayon and hear this entire episode today.
I'm praying that you willallow this podcast episode, this
word that I'm going tominister to you to stick in your

(00:42):
spirit, man.
Today.
The title of this podcastepisode is you are forgiven.
God has forgiven you.
I'll say it again.
God has forgiven you.
I know that this is a hardconcept to digest because some of
us come from backgrounds wherethe picture of God that was shown

(01:05):
to us was that he was justsitting around ready to get us, ready
to zap us when we didsomething wrong.
God is sitting up in heavenwaiting to punish us or even kill
us.
We learned and we grew up witha God that was so punitive.

(01:25):
But I'm here to share with youa different God today.
The God, the God that we truly serve.
A merciful God.
I did a podcast on this abouta year or so ago.
So if you want to go back andlisten to this podcast episode, you
can on.
It's on my channel.
But the Christian life is allabout forgiveness.

(01:49):
And I know that they don'ttell us this, but that's the truth.
The Christian life is allabout forgiveness.
It begins with receiving God'sforgiveness through faith in Jesus
and then receiving his deathon the cross.
And what that means is when werepent and say the prayer of salvation

(02:12):
or the sinner's prayer, or forthose of you who are saved, but you
fell.
We receive that forgivenessthrough faith in Jesus Christ.
That's why when Jesus went tothe cross so that his blood would
be shed, so all our sins couldbe washed away, not covered, but

(02:35):
washed away.
But it doesn't stop at the cross.
That work continues.
It's something that we can tapinto on a daily basis.
It's available to us on adaily basis.
That life, salvation continuesas we live in that forgiveness that

(02:56):
Christ has done for us,receiving that forgiveness daily
from our Heavenly Father.
But a lot of times we forgetand we need to be reminded of what
Jesus did for us on the crossand what he is willing to do.
For us in our Christian walk,in our daily walk with him.

(03:18):
Today, we're going to belooking at several verses in the
Bible.
We're going to start withRomans, chapter 3, verse 23, Romans
3, verse 23.
And it says, for all havesinned and fall short of the glory
of God.
So this is the Bible speakingto us.
This is, this is the word of God.

(03:39):
And it says that all havesinned and fallen short of the glory
of God.
So none of us are worthy orable to reach God's standards that
he has set.
Because God's standard is so high.
God's standard is so glorious.
And every time we try, we fail.

(04:00):
Every time we try to reachthat, reach that standard, we miss
the Mark.
That's all of us.
That's everyone that's living, listening to this podcast episode.
Yes, we accepted Jesus Christas our Lord and Savior.
Yes, we are born again.
But we have to live that lifeout now.
We have to walk in thatnewness of life.

(04:23):
And in living that Christianlife out, sometimes we fall short.
Sometimes we have missteps, sometimes we make mistakes.
We fall, we messed up andsometimes we fall and we messed up
badly.
We miss the mark not once, nottwice, but many times.
And none of us are exempt from that.

(04:45):
That facade that, you know, wegrew up in the church and that we,
as Christians, we are perfect, that has gone away.
We are messed up people asbelievers, as Christians, just trying
to survive and thrive.
And if it wasn't for the graceof God, none of us would be here
today.
I want you to take a look atExodus, chapter 34, verses 6 through

(05:10):
7A.
In this passage, we see Godreestablishing his covenant with
his chosen people.
So Moses was giving them somevery specific instructions, and then
he began to tell them aboutthe nature and the character of God.
So starting in verse six, itsays, and the Lord passed before

(05:33):
him and proclaimed the LordGod is merciful and gracious, long
suffering and abounding ingoodness and truth.
Abounding in goodness andtruth, keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity andtransgression and sin.

(05:57):
So what I want you to thinkabout that every time you begin to
struggle to believe, whetheror not God has forgiven you, every
time the enemy comes to tellyou otherwise, that you are not forgivable,
that the sin that you havedone is so bad, that the sin that
you have done is so awful, that the sin that you have done is
so horrible.

(06:18):
I want you to remember this, this passage, that the Lord God,
the God that we serve is merciful.
The God that we serve is gracious.
The God that we serve is patient.
He is long suffering.
The God that we serve isabounding in goodness.
He's filled with goodness for us.
The Lord God we serve is fullof truth.

(06:40):
The Lord God that we serve hekeeps mercies for thousands and thousands
and thousands of years.
The Lord God that we serve isforgiving and he forgives iniquities.
He has forgiven ourtransgressions and he has forgiven
our sins.
Sins I want you to rememberthat every time the enemy attacks

(07:02):
you and comes to you and tellsyou and brings your sin before you
know that you have beenforgiven, that God has forgiven you.
Over the next few episodes,I'm going to go over a few things
that I want you to remember.
Even quote back to the enemy.
When he comes to your mind andhe brings your sins and he revisits

(07:23):
your past and he tries tobring you down with lies, there are
some things that I want you toto say to yourself and know.
And so they're going to beover the next few episodes.
