(00:00):
Hello, everyone.
This is Pastor ChristineDesiree, and the topic for today
is how to beat stagnation orhow to beat complacency.
We're going to be reading FromDeuteronomy, chapter 1, verses 6
through 8.
And after we finish thispodcast, I really believe that you
are going to feel motivated todo the things that you've always

(00:22):
wanted to do.
We all have things that wewant to do that we are passionate
about doing, but sometimes weget stuck and we need that extra
push.
So that's what this podcast isabout today.

(01:12):
We all know life can throw us curveballs.
That certainly happened to meat the end of November.
In 2022, I found out that myfather had terminal cancer, and within
seven weeks, my father was gone.
So end of November, we findout that he had terminal cancer.

(01:34):
We didn't know and at all.
And then within seven weeks,my father was gone.
That was a major curveball inmy life.
So we have always, all of ushave been there.
We've all had those kind ofexperiences, but life goes beyond
that.
But sometimes we holdourselves hostage.

(01:55):
And that's what I did.
I held myself hostage becauseI felt like I had an excuse.
I have an excuse to not doingthe things that I want to do because
I am grieving.
I have an excuse because I amthe first child and I am the eldest,
and I have so muchresponsibility on me.
I have the excuse for notdoing this podcast and not doing

(02:17):
some other things that Ineeded to do because now I have inherited
a church and I'm responsiblefor this ministry.
So I had a lot of excuses.
And so we hold ourselveshostage because of our.
The circumstances that we go through.
And then what happens after that?
We lose our motivation andeventually get stuck.

(02:38):
And then we don't know how toget out of that place.
And that's what happened to me.
I lost my motivation becauseof grief, because of the excuses,
because of the circumstances.
And then when the motivationstarted coming back, then it was
like, oh, what am I going todo now?
How am I going to get myselfout of this system of stagnation
that I have been in?

(02:59):
And then ended up justremaining there for months and months
and months.
In Deuteronomy, chapter 1,verses 6 through 8, it reads, the
Lord our God said to us inHoreb, you have stayed long enough
at this mountain.
Turn and take your journey andgo to the hill country as far as

(03:21):
the great river.
See, I have set the landbefore you go in and take possession
of the land that the Lordswore to Your father to, to Abraham,
to Isaac, to Jacob, to give tothem and their offspring after them.
So God is saying something toyou today.

(03:41):
He is saying something to youthis morning.
You have stayed long enough inthis place.
You have stayed long enough inthe place of stagnation.
You have stayed long enough inthe place of complacency.
You have stayed long enough atthat mountain.
And he is saying to you todaythat you need to get up, you need

(04:02):
to shake yourself off and goand get what he has for you.
That's what I heard the voiceof the Lord saying to me.
I had to get up.
I had to shake myself off andgo and get what the Lord had for
me.
I am very passionate aboutdoing this podcast.
But as soon as I began andstarted and launched this podcast,

(04:25):
there were attacks afterattacks after attack, and not little
ones, major attacks that cameto stop me from doing this podcast.
And so I had to make a decision.
I had to stop.
I had to stop it right thereand arrest those things.
And I had to get up and shakemyself off and stop the excuses,

(04:45):
go and get what God has for me.
And what God has for you is great.
What God has for you is beyondyour wildest imagination.
What God has for you is marvelous.
But you have to get up and youhave to go after it.
You have to possess it.
You have to take it.
He says in your scripturehere, turn and take your journey.

(05:06):
Turn.
Get out of your situation, change directions, change course,
and go after the things that Ihave for you.
