(00:18):
So today I'm really going totalk to you about one thing, one
thing only, which may be arare thing that we talk about when
it comes to moving on with grace.
And so this last and finalthing I want to say to you today,
today, as you are moving onwith grace, cultivate gratitude,
be thankful, and be thankfulto God.

(00:42):
So even in the midst ofchange, even in the midst of hurt,
even in the midst of pain, andas you are carrying those wounds
and you are coming out of itand you're stepping out, there are
always blessings to bethankful for.

(01:03):
There are always gifts that wewere given along the way to be grateful
for.
Okay?
As I was coming out of my badrelationship and going through that
divorce and coming out of thattime, moving on with grace, I was

(01:24):
so grateful to God that hegave me two children.
I was so grateful to God thatin that marriage I had two kids.
I was grateful to God.
And there were other thingsthat I learned and grew from and
learned in that marriage.
I was grateful to God.
So there's always something tobe grateful.

(01:45):
I was grateful that God kept me.
I was grateful that God keptmy mind.
I could have lost my mind.
I was grateful that the Lordkept my kids.
I was grateful that he kept me.
Okay.
And so many other things I wasthankful for.
So many gifts that I was givenalong the way, even though I was

(02:06):
going through a traumatic timeand a traumatic season in my life.
So there's always blessings tobe grateful for and thankful for.
So there is a small practicethat I do when I find myself in in
those type of situations.
So start each day by listingthings you are grateful for.

(02:28):
Sometimes you got to get itdown on paper.
Sometimes we forget becausethe pain is so much.
Write it down on paper.
Make a list of the things tobe grateful for.
Okay?
That came out of that relationship.
That came out of that situation.
I remember one time I was ateacher many, many years ago, and

(02:48):
I was.
I got hired at this school, aprivate school, and I went and worked
for this school as a teacher.
And boy, the principal washorrid to work for.
It was a terrible situation.
The Lord said to me, I'm notgoing to let you go out of here.
You're going to have to.
I wanted to leave after oneweek of working there.
And the Lord said, no, staythe entire year.

(03:08):
Finish the entire year.
And I was like, lord, there isno way I can take this.
This woman is evil.
She's brutal.
I don't like how she'streating the kids.
I do not like her philosophy,I do not want to be in this.
And the Lord said, you have to stay.
And so I stayed the whole year.
By the time I left that schoolat the end of the year and got my
new job, I had a binder, a 3inch binder filled with things that

(03:35):
I learned about leadership.
Working under that woman'sadministration, under her, I learned
so many things aboutleadership, so many things not to
do, so many things to do, somany things I would never do.
I learned I got gifts upongifts, how to treat people, how to
speak people, how to lead, what not to do, how to deal with

(03:56):
parents.
I mean, so structure.
I learned so much in that situation.
In that year, it was tormenting.
It was the most tormentingyear in my career.
But I was given a gift.
I was given a gift to learnabout leadership in that horrible

(04:17):
situation.
So when I walked out of there, like I said, I had a physical three
ring binder, a three inchbinder filled with things that I
learned.
So this practice will shiftyour focus from looking at the loss
to blessings, looking at theblessings that are still in your
life, or looking at theblessings that you got as a result

(04:40):
of that situation.
So it will transform yourentire perspective from what you
think you have lost to theabundance that you have, that you
still have and that you havegained through that experience.
It will really change your perspective.
So as we close this series, remember that moving on with grace

(05:02):
is not just about getting past something.
It's not just about gettingthrough something quickly.
It's not just about gettingsomething really fast and moving
on.
It's about growing through it.
You want to grow through this thing.
It's about emerging stronger.
It's about emerging wiser andgetting more aligned with God's purpose

(05:24):
and plan for your life.
